I'm forcefully removing these historical characters from your grasp until you learn to distinguish fictional representations of historical figures in a television show from the real historical figures.
#This is not fandom-specific I have just Seen Too Much#Like I really don't care if people have their zanny headcanons#Do whatever you want honestly say he had twelve arms and liked cross-dressing just don't start claiming it's 'real history'#Real problem with people e.g. projecting their own gender stuff onto real historical figures because of a TV show and then refusing to like#Acknowledge that the fictional portrayal of that character is not necessarily accurate or reflective of who they really were.#And again this isn't fandom specific I see it far too often in any fandom based around historical media#People getting unhealthily attached and projecting and refusing to separate fiction from non-fiction etc#This happens in non-historical fandoms too but in fandoms of historical media you just get that#Extra ick layer of people with zero degrees in the subject insisting their headcanons are now Real History and taking things out of context#Acting like they're authorities.#You're not: you're an amateur armchair enthusiast. And there's nothing wrong with that!#But let's not be a certain Historical Fiction Author for a Certain Time and go around saying you're historians because you wrote a fanfic#Because you're not.#You love history and that's wonderful!#That doesn't make you an authority or a historian.#text#misc
