#chronic blogging#shit chat#well at this point both of my parents (who i inherited my Just Tough It Out streak from) have#upon hearing how bad my post-hysterectomy pain has been#told me 'umm no you need to go see someone.' and 'please just go to urgent care i will pay for it if your insurance won't.' respectively#haunted by the ghost of my right ovary (sharp stabbing pains & debilitating muscle spasms around the incision site)#it's been 1.5 years since surgery and it's getting worse not better#at my 1mo post op i was like 'hey right side hurts a lot worse & the incision seems really wonky & off-center. thoughts?'#they said it was nothing to worry about give it time i might still be feeling pain up to 6mo post op#sooo 8mo post op contact surgeon again 'hey remember that thing i mentioned? yeah still hurts bad enough i struggle to walk sometimes'#she says eeehhh maybe you developed pelvic floor dysfunction or always had it and surgery made it worse. read this book & do some stretches#book stretches & muscle relaxers helped for a bit so i just carried on but it was not improving in fact becoming more persistent#lil over a year post op contact surgeon like 'HEY do not ignore me i am in an amount of pain that is NOT NORMAL and you WILL see me'#drive 1+ hrs for her to poke at me for ~10 minutes ignore most of what i was saying and determine it's just muscle spasms do more stretches#said physical therapy MIGHT help if i did it 2x monthly for at least 6mo. which would've involved commuting over an hour during the workweek#no THANK you i'll just keep doing my stupid stretches. and the thing is.#the stretches ARE helping. i feel my overall balance/flexibility/stamina improving#but that by contrast is making the STABBING PAINS WHERE MY RIGHT OVARY USED TO BE all the more obvious#'oh it's just muscle spasms' well why the FUCK are my muscles spasming around THIS SPOT EXCLUSIVELY for SEVENTEEN MONTHS STRAIGHT#i have essentially no pain on my left side at all. i feel overall just fine & dandy but i am convinced there is something#like. very seriously wrong on the right side causing this#and yeah if my surgeon won't listen to me maybe i will check myself into urgent care and demand an ultrasound#(which btw i asked for during my last visit & she told me it was unnecessary & to fuck off)#but now the two people who instilled me with a very deep mistrust for the medical industry#and from who i learned from via a lifetime of observation how to dissociate from chronic pain in order to function#are telling me 'yeah no this is bad you need a DOCTOR.' umm. i probably need a doctor.#was talking w/ E last night about degrees of pain & like. avg day is like 4-6 on a 0-10 scale. good days 2-3.#i don't consider calling out from work unless it's like an 8 or higher cause i'm just so used to it.#i'm sick of it. so fucking bored with being in constant pain. i want my life & energy back. i want a personality beyond Oh Just Tired back.#i wanna be able to enjoy touch again with immediately hitting overstimulation threshold due to pain.

Don't Let Overactive Bladder Control Your Life
Overactive bladder techniques like sacral neuromodulation or percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation can help le urge to urinate, which can be accompanied by involuntary leakage of urine. OAB can significantly impact a person's quality of life, but treatment options are available. This article will discuss the symptoms, causes, and treatment options for OAB.
Symptoms of Overactive Bladder
The main symptom of OAB is a sudden urge to urinate that is difficult to control. This can occur at any time, including during the night, and can happen even if the bladder is not full. Other symptoms of OAB may include:
Frequent urination (more than eight times a day)
Involuntary leakage of urine (urge incontinence)
The need to urinate immediately
Feelings of urgency or pressure in the lower abdomen
Waking up more than once during the night to urinate (nocturia)
Causes of Overactive Bladder
There are several factors that can contribute to the development of OAB. These may include:
Aging: As we age, the muscles in the bladder can weaken, making it harder to control urination.
Nerve damage: Nerve damage from conditions like multiple sclerosis or diabetes can interfere with the signals between the brain and the bladder, leading to OAB.
Urinary tract infections: Infections in the urinary tract can cause irritation and inflammation, leading to OAB symptoms.
Bladder abnormalities: Conditions like bladder stones or tumors can cause irritation and lead to OAB symptoms.
Treatment Options for Overactive Bladder
There are several treatment options available for OAB. These may include:
Lifestyle changes: Simple changes to your diet and fluid intake can help to reduce the symptoms of OAB.
This can include limiting caffeine and alcohol, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding foods that irritate the bladder, such as spicy food.
Pelvic floor exercises: Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles can help to improve bladder control and reduce OAB symptoms.
Medications: There are several medications available that can help to reduce OAB symptoms. These may include anticholinergic medications or beta-3 agonists.
Nerve stimulation: Techniques like sacral neuromodulation or percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation can help improve bladder control and reduce OAB symptoms.
Surgery: In some cases, surgery may be necessary to treat OAB. This may include procedures like bladder augmentation or urinary diversion.

U know how sometimes you feel a bit (and that bit can vary wildly) sad about how many flaws you have (which is normal and human) and how much growing you can do (which is a good goal but perhaps self destructive once you're putting off A Certain Amount of life until you've done "more work" with that goal post of "more work" always moving farther even though at a certain point you should probably accept that every person is somewhat flawed and always needs to grow more and it's okay to Actively Live one's life and enjoy it DURING that endless process of growing)
Well I certainly feel that way again. I feel like all I should do in my free time for the next 3 months (rather than play or create or self care) is do workbooks for healing and growing. And that I shouldn't bother with my life goals again until I've completed the workbooks At Minimum. (And my instincts are saying ummm that plan sounds like a touch workaholic and avoiding actually living life and isolating)
#rant#i just. i decided i want a loving relationship. its been many years. id like to date again#so i. as usual when i have a problem. looked up HOW#well i read 1 book about physical and thought process changes i can make. and it suggested date within 3 weeks. among other tjings#and so i looked up INTERNAL work to find love. because perhaps if i can fix whatever INTERNALLY draws me to only run into unavailable people#will allow me to start running into AVAILABLE options instead. so i need to complete this 300 page therapy workbook.#and theres no point doing the date within 3 weeks if im only able to ask out unavailable people currently.#so ill do the date in 3 weeks AFTER i complete the workbook.#the workbook is exhaustjng and makes me cry but hey maybe itll help. anyway i wish someone had given it to me 5 years ago#but anyway to hqve time to do with workbook ASAP i dont have time for shows#and i rarely have time for Play anyway. something i hear i need.#because i got chronic illnesss wooh and a lot of my free time i need to go to doctors and physical therapy#and manage my diet (cause i have gastroparesis so if im not careful i Cant eat)#and also i need more muscle so my back stops fucking up.#and also i need time to meditate so my pelvic floor relaxes at least a little to lower the gi issues and pain.#so like.#and then also im sure friends would like to see me more.#meanwhile all i really wanna do? is go to a#cabin by the beach in rhe woods and sleep 2 days then eat cake then read and write my fucking novels

I completely agree with the most of this but I thought I should add some more details about the whole pelvic floor situation that was mentioned. Although it is very common to have a weakened pelvic floor as you age, please do not think it can be ignored! As you age it becomes more and more important to do pelvic floor exercises, especially if you’re struggle to hold your bladder or bowels. Not to mention, having a weak pelvic floor can also affect your wellbeing in other ways, such as having back pains. But much more importantly, if your pelvic floor isn’t working as it’s supposed to, you can experience prolapsing which is when your pelvic organs aren’t being properly supported and then basically drop, either internally or they can actually come out of your vagina or anus. So please do your pelvic floor exercises! Some examples of this are called kegels, you can read about how to do these here.
Facts about your body after you turn 25, AKA things I wish someone had told me:
you will get hair in fun new places. this is normal and fine.
these places include (but are not limited to) if you don't already have them: your asscrack, your back, your ears, and moles. it's fine.
some of you, dick or not, will also lose hair. this is normal, but also if you have ovaries maybe get this checked out for PCOS.
your acne will probably change. some people get better. some people get worse. it's fine.
your nails will probably get an infection or a fungus at least once in your life. this is fine. (but also let your doc know).
how you gain and lose fat and where you do so will change. this is fine.
how you smell will change. this is fine. (fishy or rotten smells mean doctor time though)
if you have a prostate: it gets harder to pee. prostates enlarge as you age (get this checked regularly). this is fine.
if you do not have a prostate: it gets easier to pee but not in a good way. as in as you get older, your pelvic floor muscles tend to lose some of their strength. this makes it harder to keep pee in. this is fine.
all breasts and pectorals eventually sag, with the rest of your body. this is fine.
a decent percent of the population will experience a cyst at least once. some of you will make up for the rest with multiple. this is fine, but keep them checked out by a doctor. (sometimes this is a condition! get checked for that too!)
almost half of everyone gets hemorrhoids. it's a good idea to just expect them since your chances of getting them get higher the older you are. your toilet will look like a murder scene. definitely get your booty checked out BUT this is almost always perfectly normal. just eat more fiber. "but I already-" eat more fiber. and maybe suck it up and buy some hemorrhoid cream, you'll thank me later.
yes, this means you will probably need to make an appointment for a doctor to see your butthole. it's okay. not only do they really not care but 1. they've seen weirder that day and 2. they'd far rather you see them now than later when it's been going on for forty years and now it might be colon cancer. it's okay. consider it a rite of passage.
adults need more sleep than children. don't believe the myth that you need less than they do. that is capitalist propaganda to make you give up more of your life to the work grind, comrade.
vitamins and medicine, something you are more likely to take as you get older, sometimes make the toilet turn weird colors. it's okay.
if you still have your tonsils and get those little stones and get sore throats more than once a year you should plan on getting those suckers out before the tonsils cause an infection and go septic. if you're getting stones at all you should get those reevaluated every year, especially if the stones are bigger than a needlehead (or get bigger over time). it's gross and yucky. I don't care. get them looked at before you end up in the hospital.
you'll probably need to add foot support to your shoes if you don't already do. this is fine.
your body changes. sometimes it can feel sorta weird and upsetting that it isn't what it used to be. that is okay, and it is okay to be upset. just know that this is normal, it's normal to be upset or not upset, but don't let it hinder your quality of life. trans or cis, there is a certain level of acceptance you just gotta give your body and forgive your body for as you get older. it's okay.
it's okay. I promise.

Understanding Pelvic Pain and Pelvic Floor Therapy in Edmonton
Discomfort or pain in the lower abdomen, between the belly button and the groin, is often referred to as pelvic pain. This pain may range from mild to severe and can be constant or intermittent. Both men and women can experience pelvic pain, though it is more common in women due to factors like menstrual cramps, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and fibroids. Men and women alike may also experience pelvic pain due to urinary tract infections, irritable bowel syndrome, or sexually transmitted infections.
For those in Edmonton, pelvic floor therapy is a targeted approach that can help alleviate pelvic pain. Through exercises, manual techniques, and sometimes biofeedback, pelvic floor therapy can help improve muscle function, reduce discomfort, and enhance quality of life. More details

Your Journey to Holistic Health and Healing
In a world that’s constantly on the go, it’s easy to forget about taking care of our bodies and minds. With the rise of holistic wellness centers, people are rediscovering the importance of overall well-being, which includes physical, emotional, and mental health. These centers offer a variety of treatments that work in harmony to promote long-term health benefits. From pelvic health specialists to red light therapy, the options are endless and tailored to your individual needs. Are you ready to start your healing revolution?
What is a Holistic Wellness Center?
A holistic wellness center is a space that promotes total body wellness. Instead of focusing on just one aspect of health, these centers take a whole-body approach, blending modern medicine with natural therapies. They offer services ranging from acupuncture to nutrition counseling, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care that supports their overall well-being. Think of it like a spa day for your mind, body, and soul combined.
Why Choose Holistic Wellness?
The beauty of holistic wellness is its focus on prevention and balance. By treating the body as an interconnected system, it helps address root causes rather than just alleviating symptoms. This means you get to enjoy longer-lasting benefits and a better understanding of how to maintain your health. Whether you're dealing with stress, pain, or chronic conditions, these wellness centers provide solutions that work in harmony with your body’s natural healing processes.
Understanding Pelvic Health: Specialists Who Care
One area often overlooked in overall health is pelvic health. For both men and women, pelvic health plays a crucial role in everything from bladder control to sexual function. Pelvic health specialists are experts trained to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions related to the pelvic floor.
The Role of Pelvic Floor Specialists
A pelvic floor specialist focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and tissues that support your pelvic organs. These muscles can become weak due to childbirth, aging, or surgery. By working with a pelvic health specialist, you can learn exercises and techniques that strengthen the pelvic floor, leading to improved bladder control, better posture, and even enhanced sexual health.
Pelvic Health for Men and Women
When you think of pelvic health, you might only associate it with women, especially during or after pregnancy. However, men also benefit greatly from pelvic health therapy. Issues like erectile dysfunction or chronic pelvic pain often stem from problems in the pelvic floor. By addressing these issues with professional help, you can significantly improve your quality of life.
Solutions for Erectile Dysfunction: A Holistic Approach
Dealing with erectile dysfunction (ED) can be an incredibly frustrating experience for men, affecting self-esteem and relationships. Thankfully, there are erectile dysfunction solutions that go beyond just taking a pill. Holistic wellness centers often combine physical therapy with natural remedies to tackle the underlying issues causing ED.
Combining Physical Therapy with Natural Remedies
While medication may offer quick fixes, they don't address the root cause of the problem. Pelvic floor therapy, often overlooked in traditional treatment plans, strengthens the muscles involved in sexual performance, leading to more sustainable improvements in erectile function. Alongside this, many men find relief through natural remedies, such as stress-reduction techniques, herbal supplements, and proper nutrition, which can enhance blood flow and overall health.
Discover the Benefits of Red Light Therapy
If you're searching for non-invasive therapies to rejuvenate your body, red light therapy might be the perfect fit. This innovative treatment uses low-wavelength red light to penetrate the skin, providing a range of health benefits without any side effects. Many holistic wellness centers offer red light therapy near me, making it an accessible and convenient option.
How Red Light Therapy Works
Red light therapy works by stimulating the mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cells. This process promotes faster healing, reduced inflammation, and improved skin health. Some people use it for chronic pain, while others find it helpful for boosting their mood and energy levels. The therapy is quick and painless, with sessions lasting about 20 minutes.
Healing Your Body with Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy has been shown to help with a variety of conditions, including arthritis, joint pain, and even hair loss. Athletes also use it to recover faster after intense workouts. The best part? There’s no downtime, and you can get back to your day feeling refreshed and revitalized.
The Healing Revolution: A Movement Towards Better Health
The concept of a healing revolution refers to the idea of reclaiming control over our health and well-being. It’s about making conscious decisions that contribute to long-term health, instead of relying solely on medication and surgeries. At holistic wellness centers, the healing revolution is in full swing, with patients opting for natural and integrative therapies that empower them to live healthier, more balanced lives.
Transforming Your Health, One Step at a Time
The healing revolution is about more than just curing illness; it’s about preventing it in the first place. By embracing a lifestyle that promotes wellness through proper nutrition, physical activity, and stress management, you can keep many health issues at bay. Whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain or simply want to feel more energized, starting your own healing revolution can lead to profound changes in your life.
How to Find the Right Holistic Wellness Center
Choosing the right holistic wellness center can feel overwhelming, but with a few tips, you can find a place that fits your needs.
Location and Services Offered
First, look for a center that’s conveniently located and offers a variety of services, from acupuncture to massage therapy. The more comprehensive their offerings, the better equipped they’ll be to address your specific health concerns. Search for terms like “pelvic health specialists near me” or “red light therapy near me” to narrow down your options.
Consultations and Personalized Care
Before committing to a wellness center, ask about consultations. Many centers offer initial assessments to discuss your goals and create a personalized plan. This ensures you get the care that best fits your needs and lifestyle.
Making Wellness a Part of Your Daily Routine
Incorporating holistic wellness into your daily life doesn’t have to be difficult. With the help of a wellness center, you can start small and work your way up.
Daily Practices for Long-Term Health
From meditating in the morning to stretching before bed, small changes can have big impacts on your overall health. Your wellness center may also recommend dietary changes or specific exercises that align with your personal health goals.
The Importance of Self-Care in a Busy World
In today’s fast-paced world, taking care of yourself often falls to the bottom of the list. But self-care is essential for maintaining balance and preventing burnout.
Holistic Wellness and Mental Health
Many people visit wellness centers not just for physical issues but for mental health support as well. Techniques like mindfulness, yoga, and even red light therapy have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, holistic treatments can offer the mental reset you need.
Conclusion
Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, seeking erectile dysfunction solutions, or simply want to improve your overall wellness, a holistic wellness center can help you achieve your health goals. By addressing the mind, body, and soul, these centers offer a balanced approach that works with your body's natural healing abilities. So why wait? Start your journey today and embrace the healing revolution that can lead to a healthier, happier you.
