Fenro Week Day 3: Latin Culture Appreciation @fenroweek2024

This is my love letter to Pedro Peirano, Álvaro Díaz and all the staff behind the best kids TV show that ever came from Latin America: 31 minutos!

This drawing is an homenage to Season 2, Episode 11, the characters are trying to do not get fired by buying over the main character with apples. Gyro is Tulio Triviño, the egocentric but deeply insecure host, Fenton is Juan Carlos Bodoque, the green note reporter who is a gambler and the favorite of the fandom, Boyd is Juanín Juan Harry, the humble and hard worker producer who looks up to Tulio.

This Chilean puppet show, where the characters are part of the cast of a TV news show called 31 minutos, makes a lot of social criticism and smart comedy through its absurdity that is far away from being a role model, inviting kids (and even adults) to reflect about real life problems and make their own conclusions.

The show's impact in the Latin countries has been so big, it ran for 4 seasons from 2003 to 2014 but it continues to have presence in popular music festivals and live shows.

Its legacy also contains 4 studio albums, 1 live album and 1 tribute album made by Chilean and Mexican artists, theater presentations, museums exhibitions in Chile and Mexico (current), collaborations with other organizations and brands inside Chile, 13 books (activities, comics and literature), 1 board game, 2 small videogames, 1 movie and 2 spin-off.

If you feel like giving a chance to this TV show, their official YouTube channel has all the episodes with English subtitles (I have to warn you the first episodes are a little boring and others do not adjust to modern standards), and here's a more extensive video review about the show made by Melody Nosurname.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you 31 minutos for being a big part of my childhood. Thank you Pedro and Álvaro for making a quality show and always stand for what you believe in.

En serio tengo q aclarar que en mi post anterior que hablaba sobre humanizaciones, y en donde menciono q se me hace algo clasista que hagan a Tulio siempre blanco y a Juan Carlos moreno no me refiero a que CADA humanizacion así sea clasista de por sí si no porque el clasismo mezclado con el racismo/colorismo en LATAM es algo que está muy presente???

Si, cada persona puede tener una razón por la cual Bodoque sea moreno (ya sea por temas de trabajo, por haber nacido así o por simple gusto) pero simplemente menciono eso porque la gente a veces mete la pata con eso de forma no intencional.

Es q no puede ser que diga en el post q no se lo tomen tan en serio y unas horas después me encuentro q lo tomaron en serio. Me acusan de clasista a mí por hacer una conexión??? Que risas.

Yo me refería a que siempre a los ricos los tienen q hacer blancos, casi como si Tulio x ser un mimado ricachón SI O SI tenga q ser blanco a pesar de q la misma serie se muestra q no es así, se ve como Pedro Peirano (su actor de voz) el cual blanco blanco no es.

Continuando con una de las últimas actividades de su cartelera anual, el Centro Cultural Quilpué Audiovisual exhibirá películas en formato autocine a las 21:00 horas en el Estadio Anfa de Villa Alemana y en Cenco Belloto (Ex Portal Belloto) de Quilpué.

En Villa Alemana, este miércoles 11 se mostrará la película El chacotero sentimental, protagonizada por el reconocido locutor de radio Roberto Artiagoitía, conocido como “Rumpy”. A 25 años de su estreno, la cinta presenta tres historias llenas de disputas, enredos y pasión, narradas a través de las llamadas de sus auditores.

Y el miércoles 18 se proyectará la animación chilena Ogú y Mampato en Rapa Nui. La historia sigue a Mampato, quien, tras escuchar las fascinantes historias de su padre sobre la mítica isla en medio del océano Pacífico y sus enigmas, decide visitarla junto a su amigo Ogú, un simpático cavernícola.

En Quilpué, la cartelera de autocine terminará este jueves 12 con 31 Minutos, la película de los directores Álvaro Díaz y Pedro Peirano. La cinta está basada en el famoso programa infantil que alegró tantas infancias y cuenta las aventuras de Tulio Triviño y sus amigos mientras tratan de recuperar a Juanín Juan Harry de las manos de la malvada multimillonaria Cachirula, quien lo tiene secuestrado para completar su colección de animales exóticos.

Esta iniciativa cuenta con el financiamiento del Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio a través de su Programa de Apoyo a Organizaciones Culturales Colaboradoras, cuenta con el auspicio de la Municipalidad de Quilpué y la colaboración de EFE Trenes Valparaíso y la Municipalidad de Villa Alemana.

Não há muito o que dizer contra essa série. O fato é que, há muito, já se procurava a versão completa dela (hoje disponibilizada no Youtube pelo próprio programa) e que, depois de assistir a todas as temporadas, só se pode dizer que vale muito a pena... ”31 Minutos” é uma série irreverente, contagiante e de um humor finíssimo, sobretudo em relação ao contexto econômico-social do Chile. O uso de regionalismos, gírias e discretas citações aos outros países da América Latina enriquecem todo o percurso também. Trata-se de uma produção leve, engraçada e ágil, com sacadas adultas e bastante específicas. Para além disso, há inequívocos pontos altos: a adaptação de Dom Quixote, as Notícias Verdes de Bodoque, as canções super bem escritas, os especiais de Natal, enfim... Dá pra ficar falando um monte sobre como a série acerta em praticamente tudo, mas o ideal é mesmo buscar assistir e favorecer a APLAPLAC, que conseguiu construir um legado que se retroalimenta à medida que o tempo passa. É uma daquelas produções que nunca vai ficar velha! Incrível. Mesmo.
