The funniest thing about Peabody's Improbable History is that Sherman just acts like a dog. Like, Mr. Peabody ( in the cartoon) says things like "shake hands, good boy" and Sherman dosen't mind at all. Unlike the movie, he was found as a kid at an orphanage, so it's not like he was raised this way. Also, he once gets a news paper with his mouth. We know it's not Mr. Peabody teaching him to do this because Mr. Peabody is upset with him for it. BTW TW for racism in this cartoon.

Staff here! Just wanted to share a doodle page and an update. Things in my life are pretty crazy as of late. I got married, and I’m currently suffering from Covid BUT despite all of that I’m trying to get back into the groove with these guys. Thank you all for your love as always!
Expect to hear from Mr. Peabody (and Sherman) very soon :)

9/?? Childhood TV Shows You Should Watch
Title: Pebody's Improbably History
Note: [this is the original series that first appeared I know there is a newer one from netflix and of course the movie but that's not what this post is about]
Seasons: ?
Episodes: 91
Original Air Date: 1959-1961
Synopsis:
Peabody, is the smartest being in existence. In the first episode, Peabody meets an orphan named Sherman whom he saves from some bullies. He adopts Sherman after a court appearance that also involved him having to get the President and the government to help him out. Upon inventing the Wayback Machine, Peabody and Sherman meet various historic figures and help out with their plights.
My Rating: 8/9
My Reasoning:
So I personally have always had a liking towards history and learning about the past. So, this one gets an extra point for that. It also has that nostalgia and retro-type humor. I also feel like even though Peabody is a super smart character and everything he is also relatable too. It also has a lasting significance otherwise there wouldn't have been a movie plus a more recent series.

60 years ago today, June 27, 1964, the final episode of The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (known as Rocky & His Friends during the first two seasons and as The Bullwinkle Show for the last three seasons) aired.
It originally aired from November 19, 1959, to June 27, 1964, on the ABC and NBC television networks. Produced by Jay Ward Productions, the series is structured as a variety show, with the main feature being the serialized adventures of the two title characters, the anthropomorphic moose Bullwinkle and flying squirrel Rocky. The main adversaries in most of their adventures are the Russian-like spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. Supporting segments include Dudley Do-Right (a parody of old-time melodrama), Peabody's Improbable History (a dog and his pet boy Sherman traveling through time), and Fractured Fairy Tales (classic fairy tales retold in comic fashion), among others.
Rocky & Bullwinkle is known for quality writing and wry humor. Mixing puns, cultural and topical satire, and self-referential humor, it appealed to adults as well as children. It was also one of the first cartoons whose animation was outsourced; storyboards were shipped to Gamma Productions, a Mexican studio also employed by Total Television. The art has a choppy, unpolished look and the animation is extremely limited even by television animation standards at the time. Yet the series has long been held in high esteem by those who have seen it; some critics described the series as a well-written radio program with pictures.
The show was shuffled around several times (airing in afternoon, prime time, and Saturday morning time slots), but was influential to other animated series from The Simpsons to Rocko's Modern Life. Segments from the series were later recycled in the Hoppity Hooper show.
There have been numerous feature film adaptations of the series' various segments, such as the 2000 film The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle which blended live-action and computer animation and the 1999 live-action film Dudley Do-Right, which both received poor reviews and were financially unsuccessful. By contrast, an animated feature film adaptation of the "Peabody's Improbable History" segment, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, was released to good reviews in 2014.
Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show were ranked the sixth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time by TV Guide.

"Peabody's Improbable History-Quentin Trembley"
For my good buddy @baxterfilms, who made the astute observation that Quentin Trembley’s design looks a lot like a Jay Ward character straight out of “Peabody’s Improbable History.”
Now I can’t help but wonder what he would’ve sounded like if he was voiced by Paul Frees. (I keep picturing Ludwig Von Drake with a transatlantic accent.)

i know requests aren't open, but just floating a lil idea down your way (especially after most recent DnDads episode)
the teens and Mr Peabody time travel adventures! (the ancient Peabody's Improbable History, from Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons)
or maybe just Link and Dood in that vein!
Had to look this show up before deciding to go a little overboard with this one. Anyways. Here's a cel from your favourite cartoon that didn't exist when your parents were kids
#dndads#dungeons and daddies#lincoln li wilson#the doodler#doodly#this was actually so fun to do#they're on a little adventure!#Link looks a bit more like a Peanuts character than a Peabody character#which is one I did watch when I was a kid!#so that's probably why#not having the glasses is a big contributor tho#requests aren't open!#but if you slide an idea over maybe I'll get inspired#who's to say#or I'm always eager to talk about my aus#or dndads in general#or about my webcomic#which has a prologue now btw if anyone missed it!#dndads spoilers#sorta implied

Narrator: And so alls well that ends well for our high flying friend and his lowbrow companion. I think that it's safe to say that these boys put the moan in matrimony.
Snidely Whiplash: Oh that's terrible!

Why do I feel like this show is gonna be weird and disgusting?
I never actually heard about this show on Netflix until now. I remember checking out a few clips on YouTube and it's giving me this weird brainrot kind of vibes for iPad kids. I swear it's like you took "Mr. Peabody's Improbable History" then add in some butt jokes and musical numbers. The main plus here is the art style. However, the characters felt rather dumb.
Mr. Peabody here is just goofy and cringe (like there was one episode where he started twerking at a fashion contest). The same goes for Sherman who acts like he's watched too many Skibidi Toilet Roblox content instead of learning history. The awesome part is they get to feature random musical artists like Katie Herzig. They also get to show some of the downstairs neighbors.
I remember when I first saw one of the characters, Christine, and thought Lizzo was a guest star in the show. I don't know, they look kind of similar to me. They're also both singers.
Also, I wonder why the series can't follow the movie instead. Have Mr. Peabody being home alone and shown how he feels when Sherman isn't home (similar to Pixar's "Bao"). In the movie, I remember him being a bit controlling and overbearing towards his son. I don't like whoever these silly cartoon clones are. Those aren't Mr. Peabody and Sherman, they're Mr. Nobody and Sherbert.
