finally picked up pasión de gavilanes 2 again and… SIGH

it reminds me why i dropped it to begin with ._.

i finished the ACTUAL novela a couple months back and it was so fun. it’s no wonder is a highly regarded classic. BUT THIS ??!!

i’m on what ?? episode 11 ?? 12 ?? around there of season 2 and it’s just eww😭😭

idk if i should give it a little more but i did check the first two episodes after finishing the OG and the vibe was VERY different and NOT IT from the get go. like how tf do we go from a romance storytelling and being character driven… to a murder mystery (which is so stupid cuz the OG had nothing like it) ?? it’s dumb and feels ugly

the new cast is so bland too. like i’m sorry but i really do not gaf about their kids😭 the worst offenders are the freaking reyes twins like goodbye. y’all annoying and ugly. at least be good to look at ?? idk😭😭 (that was mean but at least the three reyes brothers were good to look at in the original >.< they still are but that’s besides the point)

sorry. i just had to get this out my system >.< i don’t think i can continue watching this :// i went back to it cuz i recently found out they’re apparently making a season 3 but i can barely get past season 2 so i might just not even watch it T_T

the little i’ve seen of spoilers is so dumb. oscar wouldn’t have cheated on jimena. he just WOULD NOT. and have a kid without her ?? FUCK THAT. franco would’ve never left sara. why tf y’all got her thinking he left her for someone else and insecure over rosario AGAIN ?? speaking of rosario, why tf is SHE BACK ??!! she moved on from the reyes. she had her villain era when she was trying to keep franco and sara apart in the OG !!!! also the juan david and rosario plot is just so boring and stupid. again, SHE MOVED ON FROM THE REYES (not to mention juan david was literally A BABY WHEN SHE MET HIM BACK IN THE OG) !! don’t get me started on miss gaby (that’s how i call gabriella cuz she would piss me off in the OG lmaoo) NOT believing her granddaughter about her bestie demetrio. DID SHE LEARN NOTHING FROM DON FERNANDITO ??!! also, i don’t like the new don martin. no hate to the actor, it’s not his fault he did his job. he’s just not as funny and doesn’t have the charm jorge cao did T_T

sorry for the rant. this novela went from a cute, lighthearted story about family to… whatever this mess is. sure they talk about family but it doesn’t feel like they mean it. doesn’t even have the comedy bits the original had to help break the tension. of course, the original has some issues and some problematic jokes that wouldn’t have flown by today but i can forgive it as it’s in tune with the times (early 2000s)

also the THEME SONG ??!! i’m sorry but the song originally made sense . it was in tune with the story and now it’s not. this is a murder mystery. sure there’s romance but it literally took the backseat so it doesn’t even make sense anymore. and i don’t like the new version. it sounds bad T_T it just doesn’t fit

this season 2… none of the vibes fit anywhere. doesn’t even feel like the same show. they should’ve just not made season 2 but that’s just my opinion. or at the very least, they should’ve just made it a different version of the characters. kinda like the addams family or marvel / DC comics where we have the same characters, just different versions of them. that would’ve worked better to separate the two but nah. they wanted to continue it thus ruining everyone. it’s ugly ._.

i dont necessarily think gabriela has a favorite, but the daughter she hates the least is definitely norma. jimena, i dont think she cares about. i think jimena herself would say bernardo was her favorite parent. but sara...like i can see how ppl would think she’s (or was) gabriela’s favorite. and i would disagree. 

i dont think sara has ever been gabriela’s favorite but rather that sara tried the most to gain her favor. i think all sara’s ever wanted is gabriela’s love and respect while gabriela saw sara as the only loyal (and more controllable) daughter. 

she has never forgiven sara for falling in love with franco; not just because he was a reyes but bc it was the beginning of sara becoming her own person and  making decisions for herself that didn’t extend to gabriela. like, yes she loves her daughter(s) but she loves control more.

My baby boy Andrés is finally confirmed as gay. I’m so freaking happy. Since the first time he and Muriel met i tough their relationship reminds me a mix between Oscar/Ruth and Jimena/Leandro dynamics and i was so afraid about some love triangle between JD because in this season i’m missing a lot the kind of f/m friendships we have in the first one. Soooo finally they are gonna be the iconic best friends we deserve and i’m more than glad about this. Plus i’m so happy to see one of the main characters as a lgtbi representation. In the first part i think Leandro was pretty good and actually one of the best characters in the show, but he was a secondary one after all. So i feel like a winner today guys. The writers made a lot of wrong choices with the plot like all the Rosario/Jd bullshit and the character’s assassination of Oscar Reyes but at least we have Sarita Elizondo still being the female icon she always was and sexual diversity in the main cast.

Juan and Norma- I prefer s1 Juan than this one and I didn’t like his attitude. What the hell was he think by kissing Rosario.His jealous of Norma and Albin had me 🙄. He see his son with Rosario and instead of telling her to leave he goes and kiss her because he wanted her to have a taste of her own medicine, revenge 🤦🏽‍♀️ Norma should of just left him for good.

Juan David and Muriel- I like them as a couple but their storyline didn’t really do much for me. I don’t find Juan David that interesting as a character. I don’t who in the writers room thought that it was a good story to tell between JD and Rosario because it wasn’t 😑

Erick and Leon- These twins are assholes. It was so obvious that they didn’t kill the teacher. The story of who killed the teacher was lacklustre and the reveal of the killer dragged on for too long. I was really into Erick and Sibila story and felt they could of done more, they meet and then all of the sudden we don’t see Sibila anymore until later on (until episode 70 I think) it had potential to be good storyline but even though it was short I still like them together. Leon he needed his own story because he had nothing going on with him outside of the teacher murder story.

Oscar and Jimena - They are one of my favourite couples in PDG but the character assassination of Oscar Reyes is just horrible. Again who thought Oscar cheating on Jimena was a good idea because it was a bad move. They could of just had Oscar and Jimena go through adoption. Oscar should of been honest with Jimena from the beginning. Jimena was getting stalked and drugged by Romina Oscar crazy ex mistress and instead of being honest with her he was gaslighting her.Jimena always wanted children so I wasn’t surprised when she started bonding with Duvan . Oscar is lucky that Jimena is a good woman and she deserved better.

Rosario - Her obsession with Juan David was waste of time. I did like seeing her relationship with Muriel but it was ruined because she is obsessed with JD

Sara and Franco - They are one of my favourite couple in PDG. When It was announced that Michel brown was going to join PDG2 after he first wasn’t I was excited. This storyline frustrated me, why didn’t they just write that Franco went on a mission and him and Sara are not divorced. I didn’t like that they made Sara think Franco left her to be with another woman. I also didn’t like that Juan and Oscar knew where he was and kept quite for 3 years, come on man.

Gaby is being stalk by Demetrio , her and Sara tell Gabriella about her friend instead of believing her granddaughter she insults her and think best way is to try and hit her granddaughter. She also says that Gaby is sick in the head.Gabriella hasn’t learned anything when she picks toxic jerks over her own family and we have been here before. I was happy when Sara stood up to her mother and believed her daughter. However that changed quickly and after she started to believe Demetrio they ruined Sara character for me. There were clear 🚩 for Sara to see how dangerous this guy is. The fact that she had that man be in her house where her daughter lives , who is feeling unsafe and traumatised by him frustrated me. And to tell your daughter that she was obsessed with Demetrio was horrible to watch.

Demetrio making homophobic comments towards Andres and Albin and instead of standing up to him regarding his homophobic comments towards her own son and boyfriend , she just excused and says that they are provoking Demetrio. She chose that predator, creepy man over her own son who she told to leave the house. I did not like that Gabriella was try to set Sara with Demetrio ugh. Forcing the Andres and Gaby to get along with this man was annoying to watch Sara had put Gaby in danger. Favourite part was when Albin and Franco punched Demetrio because he deserves it. I’m glad Gaby had her aunt Jimena, Andres and Albin.

I did like Gaby and Nino story and Andres and Albin story. I liked Albin because he didn’t take any bullshit from that predator especially with the homophobic comments, I wished he had punched him at dinner. Also glad to see Franco saved Gaby after she was nearly attacked and that he had a go at Sara afterwards, it what she deserved. I did like the reunion Franco had with Gaby and Andres. As much as I didn’t like Sara this season I did like her reunion with Franco as well. I had no sympathy for Gabriella at all.
