Is This 'Squad' Member About to be Shown Out the Door?
Tumblr media
Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) could be the next “Squad” member to be ousted as she continues to hold  an anti-Israel stance, who has been a vocal critic of the Jewish state and called Israel’s retaliation an “ethnic cleansing campaign.”
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is on its way to booting Bush from her seat as she prepares for an uphill battle in a competitive primary in which she is already losing momentum.
AIPAC’s PAC, United Democracy Project, has already spent $8.4 million to oust Bush while she campaigned in the state’s Democratic primary against St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell.
The $8 million is just a tiny fraction compared to the $100 million plan to unseat anti-Israel lawmakers.
AIPAC successfully poured $15 million into efforts to unseat Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) during the race in New York’s 16th Congressional District.
“The outcome in this race once again shows that the pro-Israel position is both good policy and good politics — for both parties,” the PAC stated afterward.
“AIPAC’s grassroots members are proud to support strong pro-Israel progressive Democrats like Wesley Bell,” AIPAC said in a statement. “Cori Bush has been one of the most hostile critics of Israel since she came to Congress in 2021 and has actively worked to undermine mainstream Democratic support for the U.S.-Israel relationship.”
The progressive lawmaker accused AIPAC of bending over backward for pro-Israel advocates, including former President Donald Trump.
“This is only the beginning,” Bush said. “Because if they can unseat me, then they’re going to continue to come after more Democrats.”
Bush recently boycotted Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to D.C. last week, calling him a “war criminal.” She has also joined Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) in calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
DMFI PAC, a supporter of pro-Israeli Democrats in Washington, has also been funding ads advocating for Democrat St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell.

Transforming Homes with Kitchen Remodeling
Home renovation, particularly kitchen remodeling, holds immense power to rejuvenate a house's overall ambiance and increase its real estate value. Unearthing a notable kitchen remodeling near me can thus become the foundation of your home transformation journey. This article delves into understanding the captivating world of kitchen remodeling and why it might just be what your home needs.
Modernizing the Heart of Your Home
Undoubtedly, kitchens hold places of honor in our homes as bustling hubs of activity. From a simple meal prep to hosting parties, your kitchen is more than just another room—it is where life happens. Thus, modernizing these spaces to match contemporary standards through an appropriate 'kitchen remodeling near me' can enhance functionality while adding elegance.
Kitchen Remodeling – An Investment Worth Making
Kitchen remodeling is an investment that pays off in various ways. A well-planned remodel increases not only your home’s aesthetic appeal but also its resale value. How? Today’s savvy buyers prioritize modern kitchens when house hunting. Consequently, houses with remodeled kitchens often have lesser days-on-market and gain desirable sale prices.
Customization – Reflect Your Style and Needs
Every homeowner has personalized needs for space suitability and unique design preferences reflecting their style. A professional kitchen remodeler considers these factors while designing your remodeled kitchen with tailored layouts, superior aesthetics, efficient storage solutions, and robust functionality that reflect you while fulfilling your needs.
Sustainability– Incorporate Green Features
Amplifying sustainability in homes is no longer just about being ecologically conscious; it's now a lifestyle requirement for many homeowners—a feature a competent kitchen remodeling near me should offer. During remodels, options like better-insulated windows or energy-efficient appliances can be added that reduce energy consumption which offsets initial expenses in the long term by considerable energy savings.
Enhanced Safety and Functionality
If your current kitchen design necessitates unnecessary movements, it might be time for a remodel with enhanced functionality. Apart from smarter designs like rotating shelves or hidden storage options that maximize space utility, remodeling allows adopting the latest advances in safety features which reduce hazards significantly.
The Right Kitchen Remodeler– A Crucial Factor
In remodeling projects, finding the right kitchen remodeling near me is crucial as it determines the project's success greatly—the right professional ensures top-quality materials and superior craftsmanship while adhering to timelines and respective budgets.
Finding an expert local to your area will allow them to better understand your geography-specific needs and create a kitchen that truly serves you. Moreover, they would be more accessible during the project period for regular updates or potential adjustments.
Thus, kitchen remodeling represents transformations far beyond exterior aesthetics—it optimizes homes, reflects homeowner personalities, incorporates modern sustainability aspects, enhances safety levels—making it an excellent home improvement investment. In this journey, finding a competent kitchen remodeler near me becomes critical as their expertise turns envisioned concepts into reality while maintaining industry standards for quality execution and post-remodel customer service.

The January 11, 2021 article in full:
The 127 Republican lawmakers who voted to overthrow president-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory are facing fierce backlash from donors, constituents, and even some GOP colleagues following the attempted coup at the US Capitol by a pro-Trump mob on Wednesday.
Some have even been called upon to resign.
Membership in this so-called “Sedition Caucus” runs the gamut from congressional backbenchers such as Congressman Mo Brooks (the face of the movement to decertify the election) to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California.
It also includes six senators — most notably Josh Hawley of Missouri and Ted Cruz of Texas.
Many observers and lawmakers have credited Mr Cruz’ and Mr Hawley’s intense, falsehood-riddled rhetoric leading up to the vote with fueling the anger of the mob that stormed the Capitol and led to the deaths of five people, including a Capitol police officer.
Mr Cruz has since tried telling local media he disagreed with the president’s speech and statements on Wednesday shortly before the rioters descended on the Capitol.
But the senator’s denunciation of Mr Trump was so unaligned with the truth of what actually happened — and so lacking in fundamental good faith — that his own former spokeswoman told CNN she could hardly “recognise” her former boss.
“He has to come to terms with the fact that he, through his actions, directly played into the hands of the mob. End stop,” said Amanda Carpenter, the Texas Republican’s former communications director.
“That is what happened, and it is so horrifying to watch someone descend into this, and not be able to admit what happened, when you worked for him and you believed in him. It's just, it's really hard to watch,” Ms Carpenter said.
The condemnation has been equally brutal for Mr Hawley, who raised a fist in solidarity with the demonstrators at the Capitol shortly before they stormed the building and forced him and hundreds of other lawmakers to find hiding places.
Former Missouri GOP Senator Jack Danforth, Mr Hawley’s mentor, told the St Louis Post-Dispatch that backing Mr Hawley’s political ascent was “the worst mistake I ever made in my life.”
Mr Danforth said: “What he's doing to his party is one thing. What he's doing to the country is much worse.”
Mr Hawley has been defiant in the face of calls for him to resign.
“I will never apologize for giving voice to the millions of Missourians and Americans who have concerns about the integrity of our elections. That's my job, and I will keep doing it,” he told Newsweek in a statement.
By Sunday, scores of Democratic lawmakers had called upon Mr Cruz, Mr Hawley, and the 125 other Republicans who voted to toss out Mr Biden’s victory to resign.
“Both [Mr Hawley] and [Mr Cruz] have betrayed their oaths of office and abetted a violent insurrection on our democracy. I am calling for their immediate resignations. If they do not resign, the Senate must expel them,” Senator Sherrod Brown tweeted on Sunday.
Freshman Democratic Congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri has introduced a measure in the House to censure and remove anyone who voted to throw out the 2020 presidential election results, a step that would oust the top two Republicans in the chamber — Mr McCarthy and House Minority Whip Steve Scalise.
That’s in addition to House Democrats’ apparent plans to impeach Mr Trump next week for his sluggish reaction to the massive security breach at the Capitol that he himself helped incite.
The GOP lawmakers who voted against Mr Biden’s victory last week could also see their campaign donations wane.
Marriott International Inc., the largest chain of hotels in the world, and the US health insurance giant Blue Cross Blue Shield Association have suspended donations to such lawmakers, Reuters reported on Sunday.
“We have taken the destructive events at the Capitol to undermine a legitimate and fair election into consideration and will be pausing political giving from our Political Action Committee to those who voted against certification of the election,” Marriott spokeswoman Connie Kim said in a statement.
While it is unlikely Mr Cruz, Mr Hawley or any others will be kicked out of office — two-thirds of their colleagues would have to vote to boot them — a handful of other Republican lawmakers have pinned blame on them for the destruction and violence at the Capitol on Wednesday.
Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, who has called on Mr Trump to resign, did not explicitly say Mr Cruz and Mr Hawley should do the same. But he did have choice words for his Senate colleagues.
Mr Cruz and Mr Hawley are “going to have a lot of soul searching to do,” Mr Toomey said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“And the problem is they were complicit in the big lie, this lie that Donald Trump won the election in a landslide and it was all stolen,” Mr Toomey said, echoing a speech from President-elect Joe Biden in which he termed Republicans’ 2020 stolen election conspiracy theory “the Big Lie.”
Mr Toomey added that Mr Cruz and Mr Hawley “compounded that with this notion that somehow this could all be reversed in the final moments of the congressional proceedings. So that’s… going to haunt them for a very long time.”
Mr Toomey predicted that Mr Cruz and Mr Hawley would “pay a big price” for their false promises to block the electoral results.
“I think their reputations have been affected. You’ve seen the kind of reaction in the media back in their home states, so their constituents will decide the final way to adjudicate this,” Mr Toomey said.
The Pennsylvania senator was referring to a scathing piece from Houston Chronicle’s editorial board published on Friday blaming Mr Cruz for his role in encouraging the pro-Trump riots at the Capitol on 6 January.
“Cruz had helped spin that web of deception [about the election being stolen] and now he was feigning concern that millions of Americans had gotten caught up in it,” the editorial read.
“Those terrorists wouldn’t have been at the Capitol if you hadn’t staged this absurd challenge,” the Chronicle’s editorial board wrote, referring to Mr Cruz.

by Rhonda Moffit, Moffits-Mad Hatter Adventures  March, 2020
With such very busy lives, every so often we love to unwind with a weekend adventure. This recharges our batteries and allows us to find inspiration and appreciation that propels us into the forthcoming work week and beyond. Our most recent weekend adventure took us to Martin’s childhood, as his relatives lived in Hannibal, Missouri, when he was a boy. He, much like Tom Sawyer and creator Mark Twain, ran around this historic Mississippi River town as a youngster having fun and learning life’s early lessons. What many do not realize is the incredible history of this locale….so read on and see what we discovered.
One of the places that I, Rhonda, book for our clients that visit Hannibal that has had great reviews is the Garth Woodside Mansion Bed and Breakfast. We were anxious to check this place out for ourselves.
John Garth and Helen Kercheval were married on October 18, 1860. They had two children, John David and Annie. Sometime after the Civil War broke out, in 1862 or 1863, Garth moved his family to New York City. There he was engaged in banking, brokerage, and manufacturing. They returned to Hannibal in 1871, and Garth started a successful business career. Garth purchased a farm southwest of Hannibal and constructed his Italianate Second Empire summer residence about a mile outside of the hustling city in 1871,  which he named “Woodside”.  On the farm he raised and bred shorthorn and Jersey cattle.
As a businessman Garth entered many ventures. He was one of the organizers of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and served as its first vice-president. He became president in 1880, a position he held until near his death in 1899. He was also president of the Hannibal Lime Company, president of the Missouri Guarantee Savings and Building Association, and president of the Garth Lumber Company in Delta, Michigan. His wife and daughter funded several memorials to him, including the Garth Memorial Library Building, dedicated in 1902, and a tower and set of bells at the Trinity Episcopal Church.
Son John perished at the age of 21, sadly, while he was undergoing an appendectomy.  Family photos adorn the walls of Woodside.
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by his pen name of Mark Twain, not only grew up in Hannibal but had multiple visits back to visit friends during his lifetime. One of his childhood friends was in fact John Garth.  Samuel Clemens visited Woodside on several occasions, preferring to stay with his friends. He had his own particular favorite bedroom in the house and spent many hours laughing with the family in the downstairs parlor. When he published Life on the Mississippi, Clemens sent the Garths a copy. John Garth replied, “Thanks for the book. Each and every one at Woodside has enjoyed it greatly.” A note from Clemens to his manager requested a copy of Huckleberry Finn to be sent to the Garths upon its release. John Garth died in 1899.
There have only been six owners of the mansion since it was built, and most all of the original furnishings are still used. This brings me to the beds. Oh, the beds! This particular bed is valued at $55,000, being one of the most valuable in the United States. It is said that Mark Twain slept in this bed and the hand carved craftsmanship is beautiful. Other furnishings are original to the house as well, and it is truly like stepping back in time. Because Woodside has changed owners so infrequently, many of the belongings of the Garth family remain. The current innkeepers/owners (very friendly!) allowed us to roam the entire house and grounds and we were able to see everything the house has to offer, which is a lot.
After exploring the mansion and visiting with the llamas (resident livestock), we ventured into downtown Hannibal and decided to eat at the Mark Twain Dinette. Martin regaled me with tales of when he was sent by family to the Dinette to buy and bring home a jug of their homemade root beer. They have made the root beer onsite since going into business over 76 years ago, and it does not disappoint! If you visit, you should try one of their pork tenderloin sandwiches- it is enormous and one of the main dishes that they are known for.
After dinner, Martin walked me around the Mark Twain historic buildings- my own private tour.
It was fantastic. We then journeyed the short drive back to Woodside and enjoyed the rest of the night with complimentary wine, a fireplace, and a large jetted tub that I really wish I could bring home with me.
The next morning, we were provided a yummy breakfast and had some wonderful conversation with other guests. There are cottages at the rear of the property and they provide a beautiful view and private hot tubs on their decks. These are quite popular, and from what I gleaned from conversation with the others many like to return a couple times a year just to rejuvenate.
The next part of our adventure took us to Lover’s Leap. The views from this historic location are remarkable, and it was a beautiful day to behold.
Next, we traversed to Mark Twain Cave.
Made famous in Mark Twain’s writing, this location is the real deal. They offer tours, so of course we were all in. We went 250 feet below ground and saw everything we could see in the miles of tunnels made of limestone. Samuel Clemens even signed the cave wall when he was young- if you look in the center of the following image you can see “Clemens“.
Many, many people have been to the cave over the years- here I am, wandering around trying to get a feel for it- and loving every minute.
There are over 260 passageways, and it is easy to get turned around in the labyrinth. There is also a “marriage rock” within that has a story. There was a woman who discovered one of her ancestors had signed the cave wall and she had her wedding in the cave under the signature as an homage to the relation. Also look carefully in the photos for the signature from 1865. There are so many echoes from the past.
The Mark Twain Cave was discovered in the winter of 1819 when Jack Sims tracked a panther into what appeared to be a small den. He later discovered it was an extensive underground network. Twain included a lot of the cave in his book “Tom Sawyer”, as he found it to be a true source of inspiration as a child. He and friends used to light candles and enter the cave to explore it. The “Discovery” entrance is the original entrance (green sign) that was used, as you can see in the image.
Also notable:
Joseph Nash McDowell – He bought the cave in 1848 and was the owner during Mark Twain’s childhood. He is infamous for putting his recently deceased daughter into a copper cylinder and placing the cylinder in the back of his cave hoping to further his theory of human petrification. When Hannibal residents learned of this act, they begged him to remove her and bury her as was deemed proper.
Here is an image of where both McDowell’s daughter’s corpse was stored and where Jesse James placed his signature in the cave.
Jesse James — After a botched robbery attempt he hid out in Tennessee. In 1879 he decided to head for Independence, MO to assemble a new gang. On his way through, he signed his name in the Mark Twain Cave which is dated September 22, 1879, sixteen days before he robbed a train in Independence with his new crew, and only three years before his death.
The cave was a remarkable adventure and we spent a lot of time exploring it.
Also in Hannibal is the home of the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown. Molly was born in this house just a few blocks away from the home of Mark Twain. Margaret Tobin Brown was an activist and survivor of the Titanic. Born in 1867, she was the daughter of Irish immigrants. In her lifetime, she and her husband rocketed to fame during the Gold Rush. In a lifeboat as the RMS Titanic sank, Molly shared layers of clothing and urged others to survive the disaster. She used her status to inspire others to fight for children’s and worker’s rights for the remainder of her life.
For all of us Disney fans, Hannibal is also a special place. It is the birthplace of voice actor and musician Cliff Edwards, better known as the voice of Pinnochio’s Jiminy Cricket. Edwards was born in Hannibal and left school at the age of 14 to move to St. Louis. He taught himself to play the ukulele, choosing it because he said it was the cheapest instrument in the music shop. He was nicknamed “Ukulele Ike” by a club owner that could never recall his actual name, and it stuck.
Hannibal has so many stories, and there is so much to do and to see. If you visit between April and November you can even take a riverboat cruise on the Mississippi courtesy of the Mark Twain- they even offer dinner cruises. We plan on returning again soon, and before we departed, we returned to the Mark Twain Dinette to grab a root beer for the road. OK, we actually bought a case to take home. What a wonderful getaway!
Hope you enjoy sharing our adventures- be sure to give us a like, a comment, or at least have a drink of this fabulous root beer next time you are in Hannibal for us!

Bonz Fan Fic        Ch.1
Record Shop Madness  St. Louis, MO.   This takes place Apr.8. 1971.
An overcast day in St. Louis, during the ‘71 US Zeppelin Tour. This was a day off between a week long set of concerts for the band. Boredom and a bit of loneliness and homesickness was an ailment that often troubled the men. As an attempt to kill some time, Rob and Bonz took a little excursion into town,
Tumblr media
checking into various shops and eateries. Having a look around. They happened upon a quaint record and music shop and of course it required a drop in. Rob headed straight for the San Francisco style artist section. Bonz thought he would look into some jazz albums. He located the section and began flipping through the titles. Concentrating deeply, he barely noticed someone standing closely nearby. Suddenly he sensed a hand flipping through jazz titles also, just to his left. A woman’s hand. And he smelled a clean fresh fragrance wafting his way, very enticing. As he turned to his left, his eyes landed upon a sweet young woman, thumbing through the jazz selections. Her hair was a glorious auburn and as she peeked up and met his gaze, he was set back by the most lovely green eyes he had ever encountered. He didn’t speak, because a sudden case of fluster had just set in. She flipped her glorious hair behind her shoulder and exclaimed, “Oh, you’re a jazz enthusiast too ? What group do you like ?”
“Uh, well,...I like The Pat Matheny Group a lot.” he answered.
“I see. I like them too. “ she said. He felt driven to engage her in more conversation, but was getting stuck. She obviously didn’t recognize him from Zeppelin. He asked, “Do you like rock music as well ?”
She answered, “Some groups, not all of them. How about you ?” He answered, “What about Led Zeppelin, have you heard of them ?”
She said, sure. I like them a lot. He said, “How about their drummer then, do you know of Bonzo ?”   “No.” she answered. As he extended his hand to hers, he said, “Well, now you do. My name is John.”
As she took his hand and held it, she smiled brightly and her delicious dimples became evident. What an adorable smile he thought. Her teeth, dazzling. “Pleased to meet you John. My name’s Laura.”
“Pleasure is all mine, all mine.” he responded, smiling sweetly. Laura was barely familiar with him from the band, how ever his deep voice, and sparkling eyes and gentlemanly behavior set a spark in her heart.
“ Well, Laura, I’m going to be attending a band party tonight at the Hilton Inn. Would you be interested in joining me ? Drinks, food, dancing, music. The band will all be there. C’mon then. Have some fun with us.”
“Well, I do live locally to the hotel. And, as a serious music enthusiast, I’m going to need to say yes. I’d be thrilled to go.” she said.
He was quite taken with her delicate beauty and warm disposition. And her long long legs were quite a gorgeous distraction as well. He was feeling great that she had agreed to join him. So they exchanged numbers and planned to meet later.
Just then, Robert appeared by their side and Bonz introduced Rob to Laura, and mentioned she’d be at the party tonight as his guest. “How wonderful my dear, I promise you’ll enjoy yourself thoroughly.” Rob added.

Ethical, Christian, and unpredictable Destination Wedding | St Louis MO
Pua + Corey
I started 2018 writing down a business bucket list.
There were a few things I wanted to accomplish, and every year I feel like materializing these wishes on a paper. It somehow helps me remain focused.
The bucket list included weird (for you) things:
A Christian wedding.
A destination wedding (hopefully at the beach).
A shoot or wedding in Miami.
And a shoot with someone whose first language was not English.
I was blown away when, the following week, someone contacted me for an engagement session in Miami and I shot their engagement in my most favorite urban place in the world: Wynwood. And as an amazing bonus, I also shot a photography session at the Miami ice Cream Museum, which was in their last week (ever!).
While in Miami I received an email from Pua and Corey.
Pua is the youth pastor at a church in the suburbs of St Louis Missouri, while Corey worked at the Dream Center, a Christian ministry in the heart of Saint Louis Missouri, bringing hope to one of the poorest neighborhoods in the country. Their intimate destination elopement in Florida sounded amazing! and was answering to 2 of my bucket list goals at once. WOAH! Lucky me!. And as I began to learn about Pua and Corey, I fell in love with them more and more.
Their passion for social justice and their ethical heart… The secluded private residence where the wedding was going to be, with a ceremony right in the sand!? Oh em gee! This was going to be the wedding of my dreams!
But Michael had another plan….
Hello I’m Michael, and I’m here to wipe everything down…
A month before the wedding, the panhandle area of Florida, where (for a year!) Pua and Corey had made arrangements to get married, got a non pleasant visitor: Hurricane Michael, leaving all their planning in ruins on the beach.
[insert all the crying face emojis here]
Now, they were faced with a new decision:
To move the wedding to their hometown? (and therefore to plan a whole new wedding in a month!)
or
To move the wedding date? (which involved postponing all their upcoming plans, including the honeymoon)
[I swear, I witnessed this part of their journey with panic attacks….]
But there is a bible quote that says
"“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”"  -- Philippians 4:6-7
This piece of the Bible has nothing to do with God himself, but more with our attitude and how we behave in relation to God. It calls us to be positive and optimistic, to have an attitude of thanksgiving despite the circumstances.
And it reminds us to be faithful, that nothing is too big or small to ask God for. And to acknowledge that God cares for us, and will help us feel at ease.
Pua was freaking out, and rightfully so! To put together another wedding in 30 days was nuts! And not to mention, expensive! But her and Corey faced this challenge by practicing their religion, and did what their beliefs commanded: they prayed.
There were safety concerns in regards to getting married at the original location, so Pua and Corey decided to move the wedding to St Louis instead, and here is where their people said “we got ya” and their community stepped in to help. Meanwhile, I re-routed our airline tickets to the Bible Belt, and recruited my good friend Jenni to help me in a wedding with a whole different scenario.
Wedding in St Louis:
The ceremony ended up being at Pua & Corey’s church, run by none other than the teens Pua is a pastor for. The ceremony was performed by a (really funny) relative. The dinner was held in the church basement. And then everybody moved to a barn that someone from the church let them borrow so they could all go dance, and long story short, everybody offered what they could to make the wedding happen.
The night that changed my life….
At the end of the night, Pua and Corey themselves helped us pack leftovers for homeless (first time a couple engages personally with this process), and let me tell ya, that night changed my life…
After every wedding, Nick and I averagely distribute around 20 to 24 meals in downtown Pittsburgh, but St Louis was different, and the reality I witnessed there shocked me.
On our first stop, I shared over 60 plates of food. Corey and Pua were nice enough to not only donate the wedding day leftovers, but they also went above and beyond to save the extra food from the rehearsal dinner.
The homeless situation in Pittsburgh, is way different than St Louis. Here I usually get asked for a cigarette, but in St Louis I got asked for basic things, such as water and blankets.
I saw so many homeless people there, it was heartbreaking. People of color, Asians, and white people. Women, teenagers, elderly, and disabled people.
I’m not gonna lie, I felt disappointed in St Louis….
In Pittsburgh, homeless people are a direct result of the opioid crisis, but in St Louis, it seemed different (out of the 80 people we fed and saw that night, I did not see one who was intoxicated or visibly high). My short stop through St Louis changed my perception drastically. There is so much need around us, and we are so so privileged, but I feel lucky that out of all the weddings that take place in the world, I get to serve people like Corey and Pua, who took time out of their own wedding to share what they had and how they could.
How did this wedding produced social impact?
The wedding of Pua and Corey was crazy, it was beautiful, ethical, full of intention, spiritual, and impactful.
Pua gifted her bridal party leggings from Girlfriend Collective, a size inclusive brand that, through ethical manufacturing, uses post-consumer water bottles extracted from the ocean to produce their leggings.
Corey and his wedding party opted for to use something they already owned (and will continue to wear).
The couple skipped on the favors, instead, they donated that money to the relief efforts of the Hurricane Michaels.
They intentionally payed to rent real plates/glasses at the reception to avoid generating plastic cups/paper waste.
Avoided straws.
The leftovers from the wedding day fed 45 people, while the leftovers from the rehearsal fed 40 to 50 more, giving us a grand total of almost ONE HUNDRED PEOPLE, whom 4 days before Thanksgiving were in the streets, hungry, cold, and trying to sleep under the rain, but we reminded them that THEY MATTER TOO. Overall, this wedding changed my life and pierced my heart like no other before, and it was the perfect reminder that no matter how much we want to stay to ourselves, we are meant to live in community, we need them, and others need us as well.
