Natalia can be seen walking around the city of Fontaine. How weird that someone who is obviously related to The Doctor of the Fatui is hanging out in Fontaine. She has similar hair, dresses in a similar aesthetic, even wears a mask. Oddly, she has 4 arms.

It would probably be better if you picked a place to get lunch, since you know the area better. Preferably somewhere outside, though? I don’t really like being cluttered in, especially when it’s hot and humid like this.

God, what a fucking night... around 9 pm last night Lucifer started wobbling about, out of the blue. He'd walk around and around in a circle and his eyes would (as I've understood now that it's been better describe to me afterwards) show signs of him having balance issues.

At the time this occurred i was sleeping in my room, so dad burst in, in complete panic and woke me up speaking of how something was very wrong with Lucifer. I try my very best to wake fast (which I'm bad at, at the best of times and I've had a severe pain day) but I keep feeling very off and can't really wake up. I also feel very nauseous, which isn't helping things.

Managed to get out there in the end and Lucifer gets of the floor mattress and starts doing the spin walk thing in front of me. Alarming to see, and hard not to think of our cat that got a stroke wobbling about... almost at the same spot too (which certainly didn't help to prevent the connection forming in your mind!!).

I had to rush to the bathroom so couldn't stay and try and help dad figure things out. Only had to ask him to call a vet and get guidance from them on what to do as I rushed by.

Still stuck in the bathroom, I waited till dad had talked with the vet who wanted us to come in with Lucifer. Problem was... I was going nowhere anytime soon, and was clearly unfit for travel.

So I quickly suggest asking our lovely neighbours for aid. They quickly came over and dad and the husband of the family soon took Lucifer with them and left. The wife stayed back here with me, keeping me company (probably quite worried since they knew about my trip to the psychological emergency place 😅).

About an hour or so later we get a call from dad, saying they've reached the vet and they need a picture of Lucifers id number (cause dad forgot to take the bag with Lucifers papers, despite me reminding him about it as they were leaving 🙈).

About two-three hours after that we finally get a call again. Lucifer is fine, but they believe he may suffer from old dog vestibular syndrome. He gets a few medication prescribed to help ease his symptoms and needs to get plenty of rest (oh no.. good luck to us with that one). Overall though, they say he seems healthy and they think it's very likely he will recover... but for now we can only wait and see how it goes. If he isn't better in a few days or he's gotten a lot worse we are to contact either a local vet or them again. They did note a slight noise on his heart, but said it was nothing of concern for now. He basically instantly went for kicking about on the floor mattress the second he got home, so that's at least a good sign of him being a good bit better right now.

Now he's been home a few hours, still a wee bit wobbly on and off but certainly way more energetic than may be expected after everything. Been sleeping soundly in between (as to be expected after his little... adventure... and for the time of day too).

Just very glad to see him back home and looking pretty ok all things considered. Was beyond scary though.. AND WHY MUST HE ALWAYS PULL THESE KIND OF THINGS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN NIGHT?! 😫😫😫😫😫

So basically, we both agree I just used extremely verbose language bc I'm autistic and english is not my first language ( I had to google several of the words you used bc I was taught King's English and not Australian English in school lol) so i wanted to make sure I made my point across with as much precision as it's possible. And by "nun's habit" I meant that in the Idealised Past That Never Existed In No Country On Earth that people mean when they use the word "in the past" people GENERALLY wore clothes that were more "modest" than the clothes worn today ( which is again, A MASSIVE OVERSIMPLIFICATION THAT BORDERS ON STRAIGHT UP LYING i;m aware of that im not a fascist wierdo who posts "return to the Glorius Past That THEY took from you!!1111" memes)

Recently I came across one of your long posts about clothes, and it was a long long branching thread but it basically amounted to " the only way to stop humanity from man-made extinction caused by the fashion industry is to start wearing outfits made of many high-quality layers where every single piece down to your bra is made out of high quality materials that are EXPENSIVE but designed to last for decades, and in order to do that we need to start wearing underwear that covers bigger percentage of our skin than just a bra and a g string ,the way our ancestors did" and while I agree with that, I am wondering about something- JUST HOW do we adapt this kind of underwear that our ancestors wore to modern fashion, bc there are some very big differennces between " modern fashion" and " the fashion of yore" namely

Modern fashion includes many, many different styles of "tops" and "bottoms" ,from long jackets to tank tops cropped just under your nipples and full length trousers to miniskirts, while the fashion of yore was basically " you wear a cultural equivalent of a nun's habit every single day of your life, from the day you were born until the day that you die, no ifs or buts" (yeah yeah a MASSIVE oversimplification but bear with me here)

Modern fashion "strives" to be gender neutral, while the fashion of yore was basically like " there are two sexes, and if you wear clothes designed for the 'wrong' sex we're legally allowed to murder you with extra cruelty" ( YES I KNOW EVEN BIGGER OVERSIMPLIFICATION)

so yeah that's something that I was wondering for the past couple of days and I was wondering if you have any good ideas about how to solve those problems

My opinion on the matter is that fabric was just fine twenty years ago. Those clothes can last a long time under normal use and washing without being painstakingly hand-spun and woven to be part of a wardrobe that costs as much as a small home.

But if you did want to go back to protective layering, it's not hard. I do it, mostly because I can't stand the cold, so if you live in a cold climate you don't even have to change your fashion; just put the softest, thinnest tracky daks and long-sleeved tshirt you own on under your other clothes. Boom, skin layer. If you live in a warm climate, then do that with smaller clothes, I guess, shorts and skivvies or whatever, whatever fits under the clothes you like to wear.

To answer your broader question, you've got it entirely backwards. Never once in the history of clothing have the materials and industry adapted to the fashion. The fashion is an expression of the materials and the industry. The creation of the industrial loom alters the fashion, not the other way round. The availability of elastic changes the fashion, not the other way around. The changing climate and changing needs of the wearer (hard-wearing clothes for labourers, etc.) changes the fashion, not the other way around. Fashion is an intersection of culture, environment and industry; it can be used as a tool for politics and market demand, same as any cultural artefact, but it needs to be practical within its environment. If wearing barrier layers became popular again, then the clothing that people wore would be clothing that they find comfortable and good looking over barrier layers.

From the context of this post I assume you're alluding to European feudal and pre-industrial clothing, although high quality fabric has existed for most of human history in societies that did and did not wear barrier layers, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'the cultural equivalent of a nun's habit'. A nun's habit had the cultural equivalent of a nun's habit. I'm not a historian but I can't think of any society of the type you're alluding to where everyday clothing would be equivalent to a nun's habit in any way beyond being, y'know, clothes. What do you mean by this? (Also, people back then also wore a great many styles of clothing; I'm not sure why you list that as a specifically modern thing.)

Modern fashion, on the whole, absolutely does not strive to be gender neutral, but if it did, this would not in any way restrict fabric quality or the use of barrier layers. Men's and women's clothing of yore were both looked after.
