alhaitham is the kind of friend you can just... sit in the silence with. it's not uncomfortable silence whatsoever—it's, on the contrary, rather comforting and calming. he'll let you sit right up against him if you so please as he reads a book of his. you want to take a nap on him? go for it, he doesn't mind. i like to think that alhaitham finds the weight and pressure to be soothing (neurodivergent alhaitham my beloved...). you want to read your own book? that's fine. maybe you're doing something else—crocheting, knitting, drawing, writing... he really doesn't mind. whatever it is you choose to do, you're welcome to curl up against his side while you do it.

collei is another one you can sit in comforting silence with. she finds it nice just to spend time with her friend! if either of you aren't really interested in doing anything in particular, or if one or both of you aren't feeling great mentally or physically, she's totally cool with sitting in the calm quiet and cloud-gazing together. if you do want to do something, however, she's up for that too! she would also take you on patrol with her, i think, even if you need special accommodations. she'll figure it out. if you want to go with her, she'll find a way c: she's also the kind of friend that would enjoy trading easy & convenient recipes with you.

cyno is definitely the card game friend. you will learn to play tcg. you have no choice. it is your fate. /lh but i also like to think he's a considerably protective friend! he's the one to ask all the questions if you let him know you're planning on going out. he wants to know all the details. are you going with someone? yes? who is it? where are you planning on going? he literally just wants you to be safe, so sometimes it might come off as overbearing or infantilizing, but he really doesn't mean it that way! he genuinely just wouldn't forgive himself if something happened to you that he could have prevented.

kaveh is the kind of friend you could stay up until atrocious hours of the night talking to. also 100% the gossip friend. he'll sit there doing your hair, makeup, nails, or skincare routine—regardless of your gender, whatever you're comfortable with! kaveh genuinely doesn't care as long as you're happy and content—and tell you all of the terrible awful drama he overhears. he's also somewhat protective, but not to cyno's level. he'll inquire about your plans and will then tell you to be safe and have fun! he would feel really bad if something happened, though. really bad. will definitely, 100%, without a doubt tell off any creeps bothering you. he can pretend to be your brother or your boyfriend, whatever you need. he'll do it.

nahida is the therapist friend, in a way. she doesn't completely understand human emotions and thought processes, but she is totally happy to listen to whatever you need to get off your chest! it helps her understand you and other people better, and it (hopefully) helps you feel better. her advice is a little difficult to understand, admittedly... she tries her best though! if you don't understand, feel free to tell her. she'll try to be clearer. it may or may not work, and she has a chance of making her point even more confusing, but she really does try.

nilou is the kind of friend who's happy to do activities with you. she's happy to do anything as long as it's with her friend! she'll take you out to the shopping (only for you two to inevitably return with a ridiculous amount of free gifts for nilou, namely from the grand bazaar vendors...) if you'd like, or she can get you guys tickets to some of her favorite performances! she'd also love to teach you her style of dance if you'd be willing to and are able to learn. if you're not able, though, that's okay! she really doesn't mind. i like to think she'd also be super supportive of you and all your pursuits.

the wanderer is, quite simply, the begrudging friend. he will NOT admit that he cares about you and will claim the exact opposite. he'll say that he absolutely does not care whatsoever (but will then, in the same sentence, berate someone for so much as glancing at you in a way he deems to be wrong). he's a bit emotionally inarticulate—and rightfully so—but he really does care. his ways of showing it are just a little odd and unconventional. he acts like every display of affection ever is such a terrible burden that should not have been put on his shoulders, but secretly really loves holding your hand or giving you a hug. also really likes being held. like. he would die before admitting that but he... he just needs to be held, you know?

tighnari is the kind of friend who tells you all sorts of things—he shares his knowledge so freely with you, it's sort of like a love language. he'll tell you all about the local flora, explaining what plants you could eat in the case of an emergency and what ones you should never even touch. also as his friend you are allowed to touch his ears and tail. imagine habitually fidgeting with them while tighnari doesn't even flinch because, as long as you're always careful and gentle, he trusts you enough for that kind of thing. i bet he is very soft. anyway, i can't explain it, but i just know his hugs are warm and comforting and protective. he definitely gives really good hugs.

visions are strongest in the realm dominated by its element — geo visions will be stronger in liyue, dendro in sumeru, etc. the amount the vision’s power increases is dependent on how in tune the vision wielder is with their element.

mondstadt is the youngest of the seven nations. snezhnaya used to border liyue, and a harsh mountain pass divided the two nations. it was only after the massacre that was the archon war that the new cryo archon, later called the tsaritsa, ceded the mountainous south in favor of retreating farther up north. with his newfound power, barbatos clumsily hand carved the jagged cliffs and sharp valleys that’s now known as mondstadt for the snezhnayans left abandoned by their former god. dragonspine stands as a reminder of what their home used to be before barbatos graciously gave them freedom.

all of sumeru used to be harsh desert. it’s no secret that rukkhadevata created the lush, fruitful jungles that most sumerans call home out of a barren wasteland, and it is because of the new dendro archon — nahida — that the jungle continues to flourish. flowers bloom in the wake of her footfalls and new forests sprout with a wave of her hand, its health inherently tied with her livelihood. should the dendro archon die and not reincarnate, appoint a successor, or relinquish their domain to irminsul, the vibrant and forested east of sumeru will wither and rot, the western sands reclaiming its old territory as nature returns to equilibrium.

the tsaritsa’s anguish hardened into bitterness, and bitterness into apathy. in turn, the pleasant and fertile rolling hills and gentle peaks of snezhnaya hardened and froze over, soft grass and fields of wildflowers being replaced with permafrost and tundra. much of modern snezhnaya is considered inhospitable and now lies above the arctic circle. only those with cryo visions are able to withstand its subzero temperatures and biting winds for extended periods of time, and one can find small pockets of life dotted throughout the glaciers and ice sheets — communities comprised entirely of cryo vision wielders and their kin.

i imagine snezhnaya’s music to sound similar to tennen composed by hania rani (listen to it here).

the archons are bound by their gnosis to their domain and thus physically unable to leave the borders of their nation. the capital city of each region in teyvat is rife with embassies and carefully selected diplomats to carry out international relations and their god’s wills.

natlanians are unable to leave their homelands for extended periods. phlogiston, being in the air and earth of natlan, has become a vital source of life alongside food and water. anyone born and raised in the nation of fire and war will quickly become dependent on the substance to live, and should a natlan native find themselves elsewhere in teyvat for too long, they will experience increasingly worsening fatigue, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, dehydration, dizziness, and hallucinations, which can lead to organ failure among other conditions. to avoid this fate, those who wish to travel must plan in advance and pack phlogiston inhalers, but the devices are only a temporary solution and cannot sustain someone for longer than a week or two at a time.

the pyro archon rises and lowers the sun and the geo archon the moon each and every day. akin to the circadian rhythm, they possess an internal clock that tells them when to perform this duty. during periods of war where even the pyro archon can’t afford to leave the battlefield, citizens of teyvat have recorded the phenomena of night or day lasting weeks at a time all while the moon completes its usual cycle. the longest period the daylight cycle remained unbalanced was during the archon war where it seemed as if even the sun and moon were fighting for dominion over the sky.

the anemo archon controls the winds and air itself and the hydro archon controls condensation and precipitation across teyvat. after the hydro archon’s death, this responsibility fell to neuvillette, who at first maintained a very rigid schedule and didn’t think twice about it before he read a bewildered meteorologist’s column in the steambird that remarked how it always rained for exactly five hours on tuesdays and fridays. he still struggles with creating the same level of spontaneity and diversity in weather that foçalors seemed to effortlessly have, but he’s noticed that the ability seems tied to his emotional state… it’s always overcast after a particularly troubling court case.

thunder and lightning storms occur when the electro archon wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.

rex lapis bleeds liquid gold, and there’s whispers of a band of hunters solely dedicated to profiting off this myth.

every nation has its own distinct language, but after the fall of khaenri’ah, its language was adopted as the lingua franca in order to keep part of it tangible and alive.

the pyro archon once targeted celestia with pillars of rock in the geo archon’s fashion, but missed. the displaced earth trail behind celestia’s orbit, almost mockingly, but a very keen eye observing from the right location and time of day will notice that behind celestia, it almost looks like a piece of the sky is missing.

being made out of a branch of irminsul, as nahida grows and ages, she will slowly become more lithe and earthen as white branches sprout from her scalp and limbs and moss climbs her legs. all dendro archons who share this origin have the same fate: they will one day root to the earth like any tree, and their final resting places can be found in long-forgotten lands of sumeru. it’s rumored that eating the fruit that grows from them will grant the consumer forbidden knowledge. if you place your hand on the bark, you can feel a faint pulsing, almost like a heartbeat.

Wanderer x dottore hater!reader

To say you hated Dottore after you managed to get your boyfriend to tell you what happened to him was an understatement. You wanted to rip him to shred and every other segment he had, which Wanderer wouldn’t stop you but did draw the line at the possibility of getting involved with the Fatui again.

Much to his amusement, he’s found you training with your weapon using a picture of Dottore nailed to the tree you were using and when you were fighting against actual enemies he might hear you yell the doctor’s name. Both of you find it hilarious that on occasion both of you go into hour-long rants about how much of a scumbag that bastard is and the other only makes more points that lengthen the rant session.

It took months or probably a year for him to open up that Dottore did awful things to him (he will never go into detail unless you’ve been together for years or if he allows you to know) and your first reaction was silence then excusing yourself to scream outside before coming back in with a furious expression. Nahida confirmed this was true when you asked if she met Dottore and both she and your boyfriend had to stop you from going on a murder hunt.

There had been something utterly impossible about that dream, something as confusing and out-of-place as the absolute devastation and horror written across Lumine's face that day, right before they'd pulled Nahida into their arms and held her like they were afraid she'd shatter. Something about Irminsul, something that hurts to think about, something that should not have been

Unnerving as the scientist is, Stelle might visit the station again, in time; something about Herta’s simulated universe, about the mysteries surrounding the Aeons, about Akivili…feels important, as if something deep within her is sitting up attentively, saying watch and listen, this matters.

And she feels the same call from the Express, even stronger, but somehow…different. When she first steps aboard, she’s greeted by a sense of welcoming, acceptance, and safety, resonating through her bones and dulling the Stellaron's wrathful hunger.

It feels…like coming back to a home I never knew I’d lost. Is this…the power of the Trailblaze?

“Quite likely,” Himeko says, and Stelle belatedly realises she’d said that out loud. “All of us felt like that, to some extent, when we first stepped aboard"

“I am not human,” she quietly protests. “I was constructed to be immutable; eternal and unchanging.”

“Ah, yes,” Madam Ping hums, and moves on to detangling another section of hair. “But several great changes have already found you. What’s one more? Life…life finds a way, especially when you least expect it.”

She considers it, sipping the rich, flavorful tea as Madam Ping works through her hair from the ends on up. Before, the length of her hair and nails never changed, nor did her body perform any of the other functions humans require. It still does not—she has not found herself needing food, sleep, or breath—and yet, she is constructed primarily from Irminsul wood. If exposed to enough dendro energy, for long enough, will her hair grow? Or did it always have the capacity to, had Ei not held her in eternal stasis?

Go home and rest, Ei, her sister had said, as though sending her away didn't break both their hearts. I'll be fine. You just focus on healing, as though Ei wouldn't give everything she was and could be for her twin.

Go home, as though Makoto still considered this backwater village where they'd grown up under the shelter of the Hakushin Clan, this place she'd likely never see again, her true home, not the palace they'd seized with fire and steel.

Even their voice is near-identical, if noticeably younger and carrying a subtle accent he can’t immediately identify.

“Apologies,” Cyno manages to get out, feeling oddly wrong-footed. “I thought you were a colleague of mine—you looked similar, from across the room.”

“No harm done,” they reply smoothly; but as they turn back around, Cyno glimpses something else behind the genial smile, and with an odd sense of relief, he soon collects his order and makes his way back to the comfortable familiarity of the Matra offices, resolving to dive into his work and put the unnerving incident out of his mind. And yet, the memory of the chance meeting with Rukkhadevata's near-doppelganger and the implications it raises churn away in Cyno's mind all morning, sending his thoughts scattering in all directions no matter how much coffee he drinks to try to pull them back in line. At last, with a frustrated sigh, he shoves the mess of documents concerning the paper trail he's been trying to trace back into his evidence files and locks the cabinet, switching his Akasha to a call. 

The recipient picks up after the second try, dark circles under her eyes and hair a mess from sleeping at her desk once again. “Cyno? What’s up?”

More proof—the stranger this morning had been well-rested and alert, with their hair pulled back in a series of complex braids. “Rukkhadevata, I’m sorry if this is prodding at old wounds, but do you have any blood family?”

Hi there! So i was comparing the elements in HSR to the ones in Genshin Impact (out of boredom) and well an idea came to me and hope you could do it. Can i request hcs of The Astral Express Crew (Himeko, Welt, March, Dan heng, and Caelus) x s/o with a Dendro Vision. The dendro element always interest me, especially their many elemental reactions, something that i would always use with my Nahida (my FIRST ARCHON CHARACTER I GOT :D), so can you also include their reactions to dendro’s elemental reactions? Like burgeon, Hyperbloom, Bloom, and Quicken. Like could you imagine them just bringing out a water bottle and combined it with their dendro vision just to make a bloom reaction XD

I'm extremely sleep deprived and a little stressed (it's 2 am rn-), but I also randomly found out today, that I suffer from extremely severe Anemia, which is somehow... fitting.

But anyways, to your question, I actually have a love/hate relationship with Sampo. I rolled my eyes so hard, when it turned out to be Sampo all along in that event, because I just KNEW it was him. But he's also very hot, so I'll forgive him.

March was amazed by the concept of visions, before even understanding what they really were. So it wasn't all to surprising, when she practically squealed in excitement at seeing you create a dendro core. She found it super cute and immideatly went to take pictures of it.

But when you made it react with electricity and showed her how hyperbloom worked, she was practically exploding from the excitement she was experiencing. She had never seen such a cool thing before and took plenty of pictures to immortalise this great moment of discovery.

This also extended with her watching you in anticipation on the battlefield, hoping to see your vision in action just once more to satisfy her curiosity and amazement.

Himeko always found your vision amusing and fascinating. She liked to watch you use it for the mundanest things and then ask you plenty of questions regarding it's use. And she definitely had many questions too, which you thankfully always answered with ease.

She was mostly interested in whether you two could use it in battle together, mainly due to her finding it romantic if you could combine your abilities that way. Which is how you happily introduced her to the burgeon reaction.

She was eager to try it out in battle and it was certainly destructive for sure. You supplied the dendro cores, before she exploded them with her fire abilities. To say that you two were an unbeatable power duo after that, would be an understatement.

Caelus found your dendro cores especially quite cute and fascinating. He liked watching them explode, though he quickly learned to stand at a safe distance away from them, if he valued his life. It just made him more interest though, as he wondered how such a little dendro core could cause so much damage.

With that said, he'll demand you create them often, always eager to hand you a water bottle, as he patiently waits for you to make them. He also takes pictures of you doing so, because seeing you use your vision males him feel oddly satisfied and happy.

Caelus gets even more excited to watch you on the battlefield because of it. And the moment he finds out what burgeon is? Yeah, he's having the time of his life with these dendro reactions, that's for sure.

Welt was quite interested in the biology and functionalities of applying dendro and electro on someone to create quicken. Especially as it gives you a boost for a stronger third attack. He's practically going through the math himself as you explain it to him in detail. And he certainly wants all the details.

He definitely tries helping you out with creating better and stronger reactions by researching about it himself. He'll show you his findings and watch you use your abilities quite often, as the concept of visions alone interests him already. The fact that they exist is just fascinated on it's own.

And so, he gets quite eager to watch you apply quicken on your enemies, as he knows that the next attack will absolutely destroy the enemy who was unfortunate enough to attack you that day.

🌸SCARA CATCHING THE HANAHAKI DISEASE🌸

cw: angst w a happy ending, fluff, minor mentions of coughing up blood

He doesn't breathe let alone cough, so when he keeps curling up on himself as he spits petal after petal into his drool covered sheets does he realize that he's definitely not indestructible.

He's desperate enough to call Dottore, because the feeling in his chest and lungs doesn't die down after a week of resting and weird remedies he heard about all over Sumeru. To his disappointment Nahida only gave him advice in riddles he couldn't understand, too impatient to stop and think with the persistent uncomfortable feeling inside him.

Dottore is smiling slyly, Scara doesn't know it yet but the doctor now has leverage over him. He's sneaky with his questions and finally, the answers all circle back to you. He tells him nothing though, pretending that that's the first time he heard of such symptoms and that it might be a new form of punishment Celestia bestowed upon him for trying to tamper with their order.

Scaramouche drags himself back home, dumping another pile of rose colour letters into the bin. He doesn't know why but his coughing gets worse whenever he reads them. Dottore was his last option, now he's back to wailing in misery all over again.

He took out dozens of bags full of pastel colored flowers and it seems like his body isn't running out of them any time soon. He knows it can't kill him...well he slowly starts doubting that too from how bad it hurts.

After a month he's sure his days are numbered and he decides to make a list of things he wants to do before he passes away.

It's a short one really, he made peace with his past a long time ago. He visits Inazuma, the graveyard, he writes to any friend he made along the way and finally he writes to you.

Your letter is the hardest, because as the pen moves across the paper, droplets of blood fall from his lips as he shakes. He's determined...he pours his heart out until he heaves, vomiting a mix of bright red blood onto the carpet. He balls his fist through the pain, sealing the letter with the prettiest wax and a very expensive mold he bought specially for your envelope.

The petals are turning brown, and he takes it as a que that he's almost done for.
