Thats fair, i'm surprised we managed this far into season 2 without much if any filler. This episode is most definitely filler but sets up some very important bits for later episodes so ehhhhh

Poor papileon was done dirty but that was expected, i am very curious on how they're gonna settle all of this in 60 minutes since theres still a good amount of things thats bound to appear (the armor, kokotiam fights the generals again, reramos fight, and beliung appearence)

Overall the show and the comics have ups and downs

I honestly didn't expect Papileon was gonna be in the show! Thus with what happened in that episode, It's still such a welcome for sure! :D

Tru. And.... At this point I don't have any idea to speculate or make theories of it. Which is neat since it indirectly forces Monsta to create outside of the box what would happen next.

But will that please anyone after what we got so far? That's challenging for sure.

I'll just wait and see.

Laughed a lot and made my whole day though so a win for me, the comic fan side of me is a bit sad cause they did papileon dirty but i still have the comics for content

Overall 7/10 episode, maybe 7,7/10 to be more accurate

I was disappointed with lack of violence and chaos, thats just my craving for violence and chaos

Sad with the less character between the kids

But overall fine with it, ttm interactions were sweet, love angin being a big brother, and Api and Daun interactions

Nice that we get an amnesia replacement name for fang, Robert tan

Finally, I got this issue ulalaa~

Anw, Fans of Hali and Fang are going to love this issue so much :3

Maripos’ gang arrived at the rebellion camp, which is Maripos and Kuputeri’s base. They’re waiting for Boboiboy and Fang. Ying tried to reach them multiple times but failed. Maripos urged them to try contact them again as Reramos already know of Kuputeri’s return, and they need to discuss their plans asap. The scene then changes to Fang and Boboiboy’s side. The pod of these two stranded on mountains area. Fang tried to contact the others but failed to do so. Bbb told him to give up because they have very low signal due to their pod being attacked before, and their navigation system also went haywire. That’s the reason why they fell to different place than the others. Boboiboy looks reallyyy sad in this panel :’(

Fang noticed a smoke coming up from somewhere not far from their place. He told bbb about it and suggested them to go to that direction as there might be villages around. Then, bbb’s stomach growled lmao XD turns out he was hungry because he did not eat anything even before they departed from earth. (Worrying about taufan I guess cough) Fang took this chance to show off about how he’s not hungry at all and still high in spirit. Then, his stomach growled as well bruh.. we stan goofy Fang :’DD

After walking for a while, these two reached the said village, but it seems like a ghost town as there was no living beings around. Bbb smelled delicious aroma from one of the houses. He gave his salam before entering the house. There is nobody in the house tho. After looking around, bbb found food lying on the table. When he tried to approach it, both he and Fang were trapped by a net falling from above. Bbb turned into Blaze and burn the net. Just then, a group of people wearing wooden masks (or helmet i think?) came from their hiding, surrounded and shoved their polearms to bbb and fang direction.

Fang wanted to change to shadow half bear but was stopped by bbb. He then approached one of them calmly and told her that they are not bad guys. Fang said that the bad guys are those people that are shoving their spears to them! One of them, probably the leader of the group, refuted by saying that bbb and Fang are the bad guys because they intruded their village (she’s not wrong tho haha they did intrude the house) The girl then opened her mask, revealing her face. She has a red hair and an orange pupil. She asked them, why did they intrude their village? Bbb answered her: Their pod was stranded not far from this place, and they came to the village to ask for help. The girl understood and introduced herself to the two, her name is Papileon and the village is actually a tourism site, Kepaku Village.

Then, Bbb and Fang eat to their heart desires. After eating, bbb asked Papileon, about the wehereabout of adults in the village, because he saw none of them around, only children left. Turned out, the adults had been captured by Kelkatoa Army, leaving children behind to protect the village from intruders. Bbb gave his thanks to them and Fang suggested for the two to quickly find ways to contact their friends. Before leaving, one of the kids stopped them and handed out the bill XD, The total amount they should pay is 500 golden coins (idk how much that is haha) but it seems super expensive. Obv the two cannot pay the amount. Then, Papileon suggested that they should do smtg for them in return for the food they have eaten. She wanted their help in saving the adults that were captured.

The scene moves to Kepaku Quarry. Apparently, the adults in the village were captured to work in the mines. Bbb, Fang and Papileon looked at the place from far away. Then, she leads them to a secret pathway into the Kelkatoa Base on top of the quarry. There, they met with an old guy who was actually Papileon’s grandpa, Papiliam. He was also the head chief of the village and the best blacksmith in Windara. Papileon knew about the secret pathway, because she always went there to feed his grandpa. She also introduced bbb and Fang to her grandpa. Papiliam suddenly approached Fang because he felt like he has seen him before?? (COugh COUgh) bbb then asked him, why all the adult villagers are forced to work at the mines. Papiliam said that it is due to the mines are rich in high quality red-like iron ores, and he was tasked to make weapons for the kelkatoa, or else the villagers will be harmed. Suddenly, Fang noticed smtg and told them to quickly hide.

A big spaceship landed not far from the place they were hiding. Muskida, who was the warden of the camp came out from the spaceship, guarded by a few soldiers. He was talking with someone that said Kuputeri was brought to Kupuri Castle to directly meet with Reramos. Bbb and others heard this and quickly planned to save the villagers. Papiliam told them that only Muskida has the control system wrapped at his neck, which was the key that control the villagers. All of the captured villagers had bands at their wrist and leg, which were controlled by Muskida. Just then, a guy accidentally bumped to Muskida. To which muskida calmly forgave him and opened his bands to allow the guy to go back home. Of course, its just a sly act to throw the guy off. When the man was overjoyed, Muskida instructed his servants, tons of flies to sweep the guy off the ground and throw him down to the mines below.

Luckily, the poor guy was saved by Fang’s shadow hands. Then, bbb and Fang confronted Muskida. Muskida was surprised to see them because he thought they had already flee back to earth. Then, he instructed his Kelkatoa soldiers to capture the two. Bbb turned to Halilintar and chase after Muskida. Meanwhile, Fang faced the soldiers with his herd of pets :3 (oh btw I just wants to point out that I never realized that Fang has shadow crocodile before??) Muskida sent out his servants, the flies to disturb bbb’s sights while he’s running away. Bbb mercilessly slaughter the flies (Hali was so aggressive in this issue lol) He continued to chase Muskida. When he finally caught after him, suddenly two containers fell from above. Muskida used his servants to lift the containers and slammed Hali. Hali reflexively slashed the containers only to be hit by another from his side.

Muskida continued to attack using the same technique. Halilintar also used his Thunderstorm spear to slash through and reached Muskida. He then SLASHED MUSKIDA INTO HALF O.o (told u he’s so aggressive this time :’P) But the guy was still alive lmao. Muskida quickly summoned billions of his servants to surrounds bbb. In anger, Hali lifted his sword up to charge it up before thrusting it powerfully into the ground, calling down the red thunder that burned the flies into crisp! (this part is SO COOL in the comic uwu) Meanwhile, Fang easily defeated the soldiers and look for bbb. Muskida was angry at what he had done. He tried to smash bbb with multiples of containers but was stop by Fang. Fang slapped (I think that’s the right word XD) him with shadow fly swatter and knocked the guy out. He then gave a thumbs up to bbb. Bbb replied with the same gesture. Then, Muskida was wrapped in shadow ropes. They planned to hand him to Maripos later. They also saved the villagers :D

The two were surrounded by the villagers. In the midst of it, Papileon and his grandpa slipped in between to meet them. Papiliam (grandpa) almost fell down, but he was caught by Fang. HERE’s THE INTERESTING PART! Papiliam asked Fang where did he come from, to which Fang replied that he was born in Gogobugi but now lives on earth. Papiliam was surprised and said that no wonder he seems to recognize our boy. He knows that Fang is the son of the Gogobugi Governor, and he also knows that Kaizo is his brother! He said that, in the past, he used to work for Fang’s father. (WTH O.O??) Papiliam said that he heard about their parents’ death and at that time, Fang’s face become sad :’((( Then he bumped his fist to Fang’s chest and said that his parents will be very proud of the current him and Fang replied with a smile (*sobbing intensifies*)

That’s it with Fang XD, now move to Muskida… But damn he’s escaped! Muskida is actually a very chibi alien with big head in a robot suit. He piloted his suit to fly away. So, this whole time, the Muskida’s body is actually a robot, only the upper part is alive. (No wonder no blood coming out when Hali slashed him lol) That’s how he ran away. Then, bbb and Fang used the Kelkatoa base to communicate with their friends. He told them about Kuputeri in Kupuri Castle. Then, Maripos gave him a coordinate to go to, and they will discuss their plan there. Before leaving, Papiliam gave them a key to a store in the castle that contained precious items (Im not sure what’s the store is called in English, I searched and its said undercroft?). Anw, the issue end with Fang saying that they should search for transportation and bbb looking slyly at Muskida spaceship hehe

THIS TIME I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT ON THE SNEAK PEEK, like OMG WHAT IS THIS XDD This seems like a different story LMAO. I seriously don’t know what’s to expect for next issue hahaha Mage Ying go brrr

IMO ; The story are pretty solid so far, and there’s not much I would like to say but LET ME TALK ABOUT FANGG: I A M C ON FI DE N T, well not 100% but I felt like the next arc might be about Fang??? Like, monsta can’t just drop his story out of nowhere and leaves us hanging just like that! That’s so cruel XO and and why im so confident is because, Kuputeri’s arc was hinted in issue 2! -- I don’ think I include this in my review: Yaya said that if King Balakung is still alive, bbb could have learned how to get kuasa balak from him. To which, head chief of the mushroom tribe disagreed, because if he is still alive, HE WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR HIS POWER BACK. -- I don’t know anymoreeee, but I honestly think this is a foreshadowing on Fang’s arc sksks nevertheless I might be clowning myself XDD anw im not sure, but I think the next issue is the last for this arc? We shall see~

Blaze is Belle, obv, he's 21, this is the second time that I made him 21. He's also trans good for him. The most mischievous young man in the town, mostly due to stress but he loves his family.

Ais is 17, also stressed, but instead being mischievous, he's stays inside. Emotionally attached to Blaze.

Duri, 10. Has a black cat named Cattus, he loves Cattus very much, has trouble learning basic stuff like other boys, but worry not, big brother Blaze is here.

They landed on a what-seemed-to-be deserted place with nowhere to go, and just like the barren place, so was Fang’s mind.

He knew Boboiboy was overwhelmed with guilt - yet what exactly was he supposed to do to comfort his friend?

Fang was no stranger to seeing Boboiboy losing hope a little. More often than not, Boboiboy would break down mid-battle, and then Gopal would do his magic with his words, Yaya and Ying would enforce those words by saying more words, and Fang would place a comforting hand on Boboiboy’s shoulder before sealing it with a ‘you can count on us!’ line.

It worked wonders all the time, as Boboiboy would regain his courage and then beat the tough opponent they were facing.

However, this time, there were no Gopal, Yaya, nor Ying to be speaking up and saying the right words.

So now all the talking was left to him - which sucked because talking was not his forte!

Sure, he had known Boboiboy long enough, and he knew Boboiboy saw him as a close friend, but Fang still doubted that his words could have the same impact as Gopal’s who had known Boboiboy longer than Fang did!

Hence, hesitant of stringing words he himself wasn’t even sure of, Fang frantically looked around for some kind of distraction that could help Boboiboy to at least quiet down the what-Fang-was-sure-of guilty and foolish thoughts in the capped teen’s head.

His savior came in the form of some smoke, and he quickly pointed at it and informed Boboiboy of it, hoping this would help Boboiboy to stop dwelling in his misplaced guilt and instead focus on what’s around him - on Fang.

Fang hoped Boboiboy knew Fang was trying his best to comfort the capped teen.

At Fang’s words, the fog in Boboiboy’s eyes lifted a little, replaced with slight resignation as a stiff smile adorned his face while he said that they should ask for some food too. (Fang pursed his lips in disapproval when Boboiboy admitted to have skipped meals, but he decided it wasn’t the right time to address the topic.)

Still, despite it being a stiff smile, it was a smile nonetheless, and Fang was determined to turn it into a sincere one - which led him to suddenly crack a joke about how Boboiboy should have eaten something like awesome him had done.

Only to blush in embarrassment when his own stomach growled.

It was embarrassing - but it pulled a smile and a small giggle from Boboiboy.

Fang considered that as a win.

So the two of them made their way to the source of the smoke, and while it was true that the smok was indeed a sign of someone living there, they haven’t really considered the part of who exactly were living there: allies or foes.

The people who lived there had a young leader - a kid - acting as the one who gave out orders that went by the name Papileon.

They had just gotten to Kampung Kepaku, yet they were quickly dragged to Kepaku Park instead after Boboiboy and Fang had explained how they had gotten there.

There were children playing around in the park, and Fang was quick to understand that something had happened to the children - saved for Tok Liam, who was too old that the tyrant chose to not care for as the old man would not be helpful in the mines due to his limited energy and strength. (Tok Liam mentioned something about how he looked familiar, but he dismissed it with a thoughtful look soon after.)

The four of them were brought to a secluded part of the park, passing by a couple of kids in the process - kids who all seemed happy and joyous.

It was odd - did they not know of the dire situation and the obvious fact that the adults - their parents - were being used to mine every hour of the day mercilessly without proper care by the tyrant?

Tok Liam had been explaining what was happening along their journey about what had happened, and continued to do so while Boboiboy and Fang filled their stomachs with the food they had.

Papileon didn’t seem to like Boboiboy and Fang very much, but that was solved when she managed to strike a deal with the duo to help save the adults who were forced to mine in exchange for the food that the duo had just eaten. (She also said she would find them a way to reach their friends - which made them all the more sure of their decision to agree with her bargain.)

Like a whole different person, Papileon started opening up to them, and explained that she purposefully moved over the children left to Kepaku Park to distract the children from their parents’ absence - to stop them from barging into danger to save their parents and possibly endangering themselves.

“Distraction doesn’t last forever, but I rather have them smiling than crying from feeling helpless because they couldn’t do anything to save their parents.” Papileon had said - and Fang could see how both him and Boboiboy whole-heartedly understood Papileon’s words.

Boboiboy promised Papileon that they would do anything in their power to help her with her plans to save the adults, and Papileon gave a weak smile in response.

For a child; Papileon was very level-headed and matured.

Eventually, the four of them set to go to the mines, and there they fought with Muskida who they managed to beat after a quite tough battle.

Still, they came out as the winner, and while Muskida unfortunately managed to escape, everyone was saved.

It was then did Tok Liam pulled Fang to the side and suddenly gave him a proud smile along with a hug that had him going rigid from how unfamiliar yet familiar the hug was.

Apparently, Tok Liam knew of Fang’s parents, and it took all of Fang’s might to stop himself from crying right then and there.

He rarely talked about his late-parents - so the sudden topic being brought up was enough to hit a spot in his heart, peeling at the still-healing injury a little.

Unfortunately, there was no time to catch up, as Papileon, true to her words, told them that she knew of a way for them to contact the friends they were separated from.

While Boboiboy was speaking to Yaya through the screen after successfully establishing a stable connection, Fang felt himself feeling relieved that Boboiboy was in a good enough shape mentally and physically to last through everything that had happened despite only having Fang as a support - a support who’s not very good with words, unfortunately.

Yaya told them they would go there to pick them up, and that they should take a rest first at Kampung Kepaku so that they were well-rested before their confrontation with Reramos.

Hence why they found themselves being given a room by Papileon who insisted that they should rest after using so much of their energy. (She also said something about a short celebration party for the plan being successful, but Fang was too exhausted to pay attention - at least Boboiboy seemed to be paying attention.)

When they were left alone by themselves, Fang had wanted to just hit the pillow and sleep, but as his eyes landed on Boboiboy who had a faraway look in his eyes, he scrambled for something to say to provide some kind of comfort and reassurance for his friend.

However, before he could, Boboiboy suddenly looked up to him, and Fang found that his heart started hammering in his chest at the tender look in his friend’s eyes - eyes that were looking at him.

Fang wasn’t really used to such eyes - especially from Boboiboy who played the role as a rival in Fang’s life.

“Thank you for being so considerate and patient with me, Fang.” Boboiboy had said sincerely, eyes crinkling in the corners and doing nothing to soothe Fang’s heartbeat.

“I- I didn’t really do anything. You did most of it yourself.” Fang replied, and while he knew that the two of them did everything together and that Boboiboy thanking him made sense, Fang felt like he just… had to do something to reassure Boboiboy that they couldn’t have gotten this far without Boboiboy.

Perhaps to remind Boboiboy that Boboiboy was anything but the one who was at fault for what had been happening in Windara.

Boboiboy shook his head from side to side, as if fond, before he gave yet another smile that had Fang fighting the redness in his cheeks.

“I’m thanking you because I know you’ve been struggling to try and console me. It’s nice; knowing you care and seeing you trying hard to make sure I’m okay.

It’s nice to see those words or actions - in the end it is still obvious you care and worry for me. No matter how awkward you are about it.”

The capped teen laughed a little at Fang by the end of his sentence, but Fang couldn’t find it in him to get mad and refute - because above anything else, right now he felt like he had achieved it.

He managed to be a good friend to Boboiboy.

Fang fell asleep soon after once Boboiboy had stopped pestering him about ‘being so sweet’. (It was a very good sleep - one that had Fang feeling fresh and anew after waking up from it.)

After participating in the short celebration, Yaya, Gopal, Ying and Maripos came to pick the duo up, and Fang was eager to add the achievement of saving Windara’s hands from the reign of Reramos on top of his ‘managed to be a good friend’ achievement.

Although episode 3's changes are way more prominent (they took away Hali chopping muskida in half)) i will say the episode got me to laugh a lot

God ttm was such a highlight and Not Robert Tan needs therapy

TTM is a fun welcome as always 😁. Even though I still had no idea why Monsta brought them back when Oboi still has no energy to fight. And made Api and Daun a bit useless.

What I'm more surprised that this little list that I put on my bingo card unknowingly become true.

I literally doubt myself first tier elementals will not appear back again. But what do we have here? 👀

Joke's aside, I... Honestly a bit disappointed in some way. The fight could gotten more dynamic, Papileon really downed so bad, and Fang somehow treated like a baby sitter(he might need Gopal to consult. So far only he could handle the TTM chaotic-ness🤣)

People say it's a filler episode and I agree. I genuinely love the some parts of the episodes.

But... I don't know, anon. I'm still interested to look forward too since this scene hooked me at some point.
