Timerunning Pandaria is coming
and I need a new character for this.
I had so much fun with IC-Warhammer-playthroughs. I had the Night Haunter, I had Fabius ... So, who shall be the next?
Some cool little Skitarii on a mission?
Khorag wandering green pastures?
Eidolon being his charming self?

An Offering of Potential
(( DWC May 2024, @daily-writing-challenge, Day 1, Mysterious/Appearance, CW: None ))
"Hello, friend."
Her consciousness swam, like she was waking from a deep sleep and was still trying to get her brain together. She tried to respond.
"Oops, sorry, might have jumped the gun a little bit. Here, how's that?"
Something shifted. Things felt more solid now. "Wha.... who?" she croaked, her voice rough.
"Oh, don't worry about verbalizing right now, just think at me, that's plenty."
"Alright," she thought, "What? Who?" she repeated, mentally.
"That's better. Probably best to not over exert the physical during the rebuilding. As for your questions, I'm a friend, and I'm a friend. A friend who's here to make you an offer."
"An offer?" she 'said', thoughts still swimming, her body numb.
"The best offer. Existence. You see, until a few moments ago, you didn't exist. Your timeline was cut off from reality, and withered away to nothing. I understand it would have been painless, but still troubling."
"That is troubling. Enough that I wonder why I'm not more upset about it," she replied, certain that she ought to be -quite- upset in fact.
"Oh don't worry, the place we're in, and the state of your self keeps emotions in check. You'll have them back when we're done here though. Glands and all that. How'd you like to exist again, my friend?"
"As opposed to....?" she queried.
"Well I could put you back, you would go back to not existing. Less painful, for sure, but also less interesting."
"What's in it for you?"
"Ah, there she is. This is an experiment to me. If successful, you get to exist, and I get to prove someone wrong. Win-win, between you and I."
"And if unsucessful?"
"Then some people will be very upset and I will fight to the death to keep you safe."
For some reason, she believed that. "What do I have to do?"
"I'm putting your body back together, and then I'm going to put you in a very busy place with some very interesting people who will have tasks for you. Work with them, help them, and you'll be helping me, and yourself. I'll be in touch if you pass the first milestone."
"Well," she said, "I would very much like to exist I think. But why me?"
"Hm? Why you?"
"Yes," she continued, "why me? You said my whole existence ceased, so why me out of everyone?"
"There -are- others, but you're the one I think is the most special. As for why, I'll make you a deal. Impress the people I'm putting you with, and I will tell you more."
"That's not a lot to go on," she shot back, feeling emotions start to well up.
"No, but I anticipate you rising to the challenge. I will certainly see you soon, friend."
Then there was light, and while the light faded sound began, touch, the feel of sea spray on her face, and Spiru Handycog stood on the beach of the timeless isle, looking up at a black scaled dragon glowing with blue light.
"Ah, welcome to Pandaria."

I'm actually really hyped for Mists of Pandaria timerunning ovo
A shame that it's (AGAIN) a limited time event, but it sounds like fun. Also really nice that they're apparently just... letting us buy the raid/world boss mounts (Elegon and Galeon were mentioned).
I'm gonna roll a Zandalari paladin and I'm all excited about her :3c
#speedy leveling is a good opportunity to knock out allied races i haven't played yet#text post#not art

I've developed a build on Pandaria Timerunning that I am calling The Volcano. I'm a Destro Warlock and I'm running the following Tinker Gems:
Sunstrider's Flourish (crit strikes erupt into a fiery explosion)
Enkindle (Abilities give me a fiery shield which makes attackers suffer fire damage)
Meteor Storm (Meteors rain down from the sky and stun the target)
Explosive Barrage (Abilities have a chance to launch a barrage of fire at enemies)
Victory Fire (killing an enemy causes me to erupt, inflicting fire damage on enemies and healing me and allies)
#world of warcraft#I basically am on fire or making everyone else be on fire at all times#warcraft#Timerunning

Hot dog, has World of Warcraft Remix been a huge success for me. By now if you play WoW you already know the basic gist of WoW Remix: “Timerunning”, a special way to experience the older content of the Mists of Pandaria with a new character, in modern WoW’s gameplay and featureset, while packed to the brim with fun twists.
Now when I say “Fun Twists” I of course mean “Complete insanity baked into the core DNA of how this game works at all”. While the content of Mists of Pandaria remains functionally the same, befitting the Time Travel concept (you even have access to the Scenarios, lost to the wind in Chromie Time), the twists add a lot of imaginative new energy to the older content. The Cloak of Infinite Potential, an ever present cape worn by all your characters, grows and morphs based on everything you do. Getting up to levels of stats at a rate almost unheard of since the more recent stat squishes. Everything from the traditional extra stamina or attack power, to game altering bonuses like XP boosts to use on your further characters.
All items, which drop frequently, are packed with gem and modification slots. All which do wild things like grant a warrior Blink, Fireshield or movement speed increases that result in the most mobile heavy weapon use you’ve ever seen. All quests grant small loot boxes, full of gear, gems, modifiers and other wild additions, and I mean all quests. Even something as simple as a breadcrumb quest has a chance to grant you some kind of power altering item. As a result, your power level is changing rapidly, and your skillset goes through upheaval after most sets of quests. Combat never gets old as you experiment with new ideas and attacks.
I’ve been using this new event to see the content of Mists of Pandaria that I’ve not yet experienced, which is to say most of it. I was wary when this began because I assumed if I just held out a little longer I could probably play a Mists of Pandaria classic. Thankfully I didn’t let those doubts win out, because this has not only been an incredible new experience, but a fantastic way to appreciate an old one. I deeply hope that this concept is revisited, it would be an incredible way for Blizzard to revisit the content of, say, Warlords of Draenor. A finely crafted campaign without much of an endgame, but one that would slot extremely well into this fun new take on the leveling experience.
Plus it has a lot of transmog and new mounts, which, let's not pretend those aren’t why we’re all still in Azeroth.

I'm quite enjoying this Timerunning Pandaria thingo in WOW. I may change my mind when it comes to doing dungeons and raids, but the questing and sheer speed of levelling is neat.

Rain in Pandaria - Lord Mei
Imagine that! Mei-Phang has a new outfit again! :D In fact, the last scene of the next episode of Untold Tale (that I am currently rendering) takes place outside the Dojo of the Silver Serpent. And it is raining during the whole sequence.
Just before starting the rendering, I realized that Mei would have been walking for about 5-10 minutes in the rain, before arriving at the dojo... So, they need a raincoat! Thanks to a talk with my brother, I found some good references to craft a traditional Japanese raincoat (mino).
A mino is usually made of straw (rice or sometimes palm), but, because Mei-Phang is a bit "fabulous" in their style (wearing jewelry), I found cool to add a yak fur collar and a piece of jewelry featuring their version of the Zhu clan symbol (that slightly differs from Han-zhu's).
Below is the sketched concept design in 2D that I made by sketching from reference pictures. Making designs and costumes is really my favorite creative part of 3D animation, especially when it leads me to search for historical and traditional references.
About rain, I had severe weather in my area, so I missed the launch day of WoW Remix - Mists of Pandaria. But I was back tonight!
For this timerunning event, I am playing Han-zhu as a warrior! So far, I am having such a blast! My progression is quite slow, because I take too many screenshots! I just want to revisit Pandaria, get a few mogs, and one or two mounts. I spend most of my time in the Jade Forest, because Sri-La surrounding is Han-zhu's most beloved place, but he had forgotten about it for a long time.
If you try to sneak and find "me" in-game, do not look for a Pandaren called Hanzhu. I am using one of his first names, instead! :D

DWC May 2024 masterpost
This time around it was all about Spiru Handycog, who I rolled using the random appearance tool in pandaria timerunning, and proceeded to declare she was going to be a real girl whether I liked it or not. (So, you know, situation normal)
Day 1: Mysterious/Appearance: An Offering of Potential; Spiru is rebuilt from non-existence and begins her journey Day 2: Agony/Embrace: The Shared Burdens of Grief; Spiru helps Sully "The Pickle" McLeary say goodbye to a dear friend Day 3: Shame/Favorite: Timey-wimey Revelations; Spiru finally meets her benefactor face to visage Day 4: Drama/Celebration: Not So Above It All; Spiru and Sully discuss a matter of great import while she treats his wounds in Kun Lai Day 5: Complication/Spicy: The Importance of Understanding your Gear; Spiru, Fei Li, and Tenwu of the Red Smoke try to stop a mantid swarm, shenanigans ensue Day 6: Empty/Confidence: Survivor's Grief; Spiru contemplates what comes next after defeating the foes offered by Pandaria Day 7: Void/Captivate: Fork in the Road; Spiru's Pandaria adventures come to an end and she makes an important choice
