Solstice Goddess Mysteries
The days we enter at this time of year in one way is all about our death/rebirth & crossing over between the upper- & underworlds— in our timeless moments in the underworld we meet & commune with the primordial Goddess.
In another way this is the time of the year that reminds us of our true reality & task of Self-realisation in the light of the Supernal Sun / star -
It is the Star that leads the Magi to the birth of the holy son- the descent or incarnation of the light into the form of man.
The descent of grace, is for the redemption & redeeming of man's Consciousness, that the divine light descends into a human form— awake to itself- therefore awakening others. Walking in the forest of darkness (human unconsciousness with the light of knowledge & love turned on- all manner of creatures, like butterflies I (the age-old symbol for psyche & soul) - are attracted to the light, & follow it, leading the way to Consciousness/ realisation.
In man's forgetfulness- the omnidirectional, transparent to itself, self-luminous, non-dimensional light- reflects itself
- (the descent of the light) - symbolised by the moon-however, the light, in whatever state of itself, remains the same divine, intelligible light.
The Supernal, the reflected/descended, & the human birth- is the completion of light in itself— the realised or divine human.
Although we think of the Supernal light as the divine Father or Absolute- it is also The Virgin Mother or Dark Goddess- this empty & full, dark but luminous or intelligible space is bother Father-Mother & also neither.
There are periods of history, we worship the divine as Father/Son/God & other periods as Mother/daughter/ goddess or both or neither.
Sometimes the star is the Sun, other times Venus.
Looking at the symbols, we don't look only with the eyes of analysis— symbols speak in Consciousness in ways that are layered & self-revealing in stages, like keys that onlock levels of understanding.
Wrapped up in the Virgin symbol with the Sun/Star behind the head a crescent moon under the teet is an immensity of knowledge that cannot be fully circumscribed by words.
This time of year is as much about the Virgin as about the birth of her Son.

Hey, local manifestations expert. Do these folks need to eat anything?
Not really - they feed via psychosynthesis - producing energy from others' emotions... Wait. This is classified information! Disregard this!

Nasos Karabelas is a fine art photographer. He was born in 1992 in Pyrgos, Greece. The kind of photography he has been dealing with is experimental black-and-white photography, particularly “the possibilities of deformation of the human body”. One of the main features of his work is the frequent use of the “long exposure” technique through which he tries to explore, from a new point of view, his various subjects. Using the human figure as his central theme, he aims to create new forms and give them new meaning.
"This series is an attempt to understand the functioning of sensations. To explore the space of emotions and the interaction between the forms of the image and the viewer. Each photo is an entity, which includes a certain mental condition. So, we are dealing with a variety of emotional loads within a world that is equally ambiguous with ours. The forms obtain a dreamlike dimension. Sometimes you can not easily understand their contours."
"The exploration of the forms inside the photographs gives us the opportunity to discover the various aspects of our psychosynthesis. The imprinted forms indicate an extension of ourselves and express our deeper psychic world.  The deformed and fragile forms are like an endless flow of feelings. The camera is transformed into the prime tool for observation, exploration, and re-discovery of the world of emotions, and the use of black & white offers the right aesthetics for depicting forms and framing emotions. With the idea of movement continually imprinted on photos, the people look enclosed within a new reality. A fuzzy and deformed reality. A dimension that belongs to the world of dreams and chaos."

Roberto Assagioli and his book The Act of Will
Once when I had just come up the stairs at the Istituto, Roberto Assagioli was at that moment coming out of his study with a man he introduced to me as Michael Murphey, one of the founders of the Esalen Institute. Later at the beginning of my meeting with him, he told me that Murphey had offered to finance the publication of a book and asked if Assagioli had any ideas for a new book. Assagioli told him he had plans for five books and listed them for Murphey. Since Murphy was picking up the tab, Assagioli told Murphy he could choose which of the five he wanted. Murphy had chosen the subject of one on the list, which was ‘the will.’
My heart sank when Assagioli told me that. The will is such a difficult subject and I felt Assagioli had already said what he had to say on the subject in his Psychosynthesis Manual. To this day, I prefer the Manual and seldom refer to The Act of Will, which was written in great hast near the very end of Assagioli’s life, and written in a style intended to popularize the subject, rather than the scholarly style of the Manual and the monographs published by the Psychosynthesis Research Foundation. I think that to a large extent, Assagioli intended The Act of Will as an effort to popularize Psychosynthesis, as Psychosynthesis lite.

it's surprising how few psychotherapeutic models explicitly acknowledge this - we trained in psychosynthesis counselling, and their model for the consciousness includes the relative health of the ecosystem you're a part of (and your relationship to it) and how that impacts you, and it seems to be one of the few that do this
of course therapists worth their salt will figure this out in their own if it's not part of their training - but psychosynthesis recognises none of us exist separate from each other and that's just so vital (we're not shilling for them here, it's just a part of our experience training with them that was a really valuable addition, and married really well with our own flavour of animist feral buddhism)
we are all impacted by the effects of decisions beyond our control and we're made to feel helpless in the face of this, but there are always things we can do, and the first is to see that we are affected in this way and that it's not our fault, and to love ourselves more in the face of this because yes, we all deserve it
I bring a sort of "actually mass traumatic events have an effect on the public's mental health and you're NOT acting in isolation from that trauma, and ignoring it doesn't make it go away" vibe to the party that Americans do not like

Will never ever get the Sans hate...People always judge characters from their own standpoint...completely disregarding that we all act depending where we are coming from/where we stand.
Same thing happens regarding the morality aspect in Yellowjackets. It's like people can't for one second, imagine themselves in a scenario where survival would be their top priority and at some point they will have to make difficult decisions.
"oh how could they eat their friend","why did Shauna go berserk on Lottie" etc
Can't know unless I test myself under similar circumstances and again my psychosynthesis/lifelong experiences and traumas will play a huge role in how I play my cards.
Not the same from the comfort of our comfy couches.
”we need more complex female characters!” you bitches cant handle sansa stark and she’s twelve.

Review/Recommendation: Psychosynthesis
Tumblr media
For those in Kuala Lumpur, I highly recommend watching #Psychosynthesis at #PJPAC this weekend. They have two more shows this Sunday.
  https://www.onetix.com.my/events/psychosynthesis/105
I qualify this by saying I am not a dance man. I am going off the vibes here. This is very much a contemporary dance show, true to Kenny Shim's forte. No smiles, just nude leotards and mannequin-like form and some super duper fancy multimedia work.
Tumblr media
We start strong with some industrial-techno, giving way to some kind-of post-rock and drone-type thing. Yet - there’s a lot of first position pre-intermission - torturous holds and pictures emerging out of the chaos of a full company on stage - duets that emerge pleasingly from them. Where there is synchronicity it is not soothing, it is unnerving. Great stuff. It ends on what I can only call blender-phronk, 10 minute technical disaster not withstanding.
Tumblr media
The second half is arguably my favourite -  a return to a thumping dark industrial-techno beat that goes from shifting duets to a brutal assemblage of men as scaffolds for women to break their bodies on, progressing into a Mick Gordon-esque conveyer belt of humanity, buzzing out into a post-rock (Eluvium among them) denoument. I want the track list Kenny.
Lights wise? It’s incredible. Tan Eng Heng is some kind of magician. Sure, there wasn’t laser scanning (which I was expecting) But that goddamn ring was a heartbeat, a pulse, a conveyer, whenever it needed to be. I wish they had been more daring with it. The LED panels also woefully underutilised.
It’s been, if you ask the right people, been a long way in making. Delayed amongst other things - none of that got in the way of this show. Watch it.#theatre #dance #dancetheatre #musicaltheatre #1utama #oneutama

Jung on Psychosynthesis
Paul Bishop (ed.), Jung in Contexts.
As early as 1909, however, while starting work on ‘Transformations and Symbols of the Libido’, Jung had speculated in a letter to Freud of  April 1909 about the existence of ‘some quite special complex, a universal one having to do with the prospective tendencies in man’. From this speculation, Jung developed the notion of a psychology that did not just look back to the past but also looked forward to the future: ‘If there is a “psych[o]analysis” there must also be a “psychosynthesis” which creates future events according to the same laws.’16 Thus the logical distinction between analytic and synthetic judgments as set out by Kant in the first Critique became, for Jung, the conceptual basis of the distinction between what he saw as two entirely different psychologies. One of them—Freud’s—deals with the source of the neurosis (and hence, so Jung thought, says nothing new), whilst the other—Jung’s own—would deal with the trajectory of the neurosis and its implications for the future development of the patient (and hence, so Jung thought, would show what it meant). It remains unclear, however, why retrospective enquiry should be any less ‘synthetic’ than prospective enquiry. One might be forgiven for thinking that Jung merely presents the analogy between analytic/synthetic psychology and a concern with the past and with the future, rather than arguing for it. Yet the emphasis on ‘synthesis’ is intimately bound up with Jung’s redefinition of libido, and the goal of Jungian therapy. (4)
Footnote: Later, the notion of psychosynthesis was taken up by the psychologist Hans TrĂŒb (1889–1949), while the Italian psychologist Roberto Assagioli (1888–1974) founded his own school of therapy on the term ‘psychosynthesis’.
