I don’t know how many times I’m going to see “oh The Acolyte should continue because we want to see Qimir.” First things first, no it cannot continue. I don’t understand why people are not getting that the Acolyte is about Osha. We all saw what happened in the last episode. This is HERStory!!!

I get it. Qimir is a very popular character. I’m proud that Manny really embodied that role. However, what we are not going to do is erase Amandla’s efforts of playing Osha and Mae. I’m so sick of people trying to ignore her efforts. Y’all are basically enabling black women erasure. I do not find this okay at all.

Manny said he could not have done this without Amandla. I wish people would understand that. If they ever try to bring back Qimir in any way, then I’m not watching if Amandla is not present (or any of the cast and crew which includes Manny and Leslye). Because what we are not going to do is erase Amandla from her own show. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.

Have been thinking lately about what an extraordinary ability Esme has to love passionately. Because love doesn't just mean being able to care for others. It requires the ability to take initiative, the willingness to trust, the unfear of being hurt, being vulnerable and accepting others into your life.

Other vampire traits/talents are basically all self-protection in various senses (collecting information, attacking, manipulating etc.) Carlisle's compassion is similar to Esme's in some way, yet he still has the option to distance himself emotionally and physically. But with love, you cannot maintain that safe detachment - it must be experienced closely and fully. I can't imagine or understand how brave and powerful must have been to do that.

Magnus Archives update: not quite done with season 3 but I just gotta say, why does anyone keep letting Jon leave the house without a giant protective bubble on??? I don't think I have ever seen a man this prone to disaster. Guy has been burned, beaten, cut, yeeted at terminal velocity (in his head but still), kidnapped twice (and the second kidnapping interrupted a different attempt kidnapping), oh and he gets sick if he doesn't read God a spooky bedtime story. Jonathan Sims is a critically endangered species. At least get him a whistle ffs. Maybe some pepper spray.

But better yet just keep him in one of these

getting into this awesome new kdrama called see you in my 19th life and i’ve been losing my MIND screaming into my pillow at the angst and poignance but some part of me is fully flabbergasted watching myself sobbing over this cisheterosexual couple in a kdrama. it’s just so ... 5th grade me. i know now that i’m bi and the continued lgbtq+ erasure in most kdramas feel like pointed straight propaganda in the year of our lord 2023. but you know what there is something so gay about being born again and again (in different genders!!!) looking for love and a home and a happy ending, and then ending up with a handsome soft boyfriend who has never done anything wrong ever who is also a passenger princess that you occasionally must rescue from goons with your mad fighting and critical thinking skills. this is a show for bisexuals change my mind

Ahsoka and stoicism

I’ve been seeing a bunch of people being upset that Ahsoka isn’t the snippy, chipper person she was in the clone wars. Y’all, this woman has been THROUGH IT. She was a child soldier in a pointless war, expelled from the Jedi Order and left, found out Anakin became Darth Vader and killed kids, Padmé died, she helped bury half the 501st - need I continue? She’s lived through two wars and has lost so many people. Of course she’s not going to be who she was. I don’t think anyone with that amount of trauma could go back to the way they were. Rebels Ahsoka is a lot like current Ahsoka: no jokes, no come backs, she was just there to help in anyway she could. Also she’s 45 in the current timeline! She’s a lot older but I’m sure as the series progresses there will be a positive shift in her personality. Either way, cut the gal some slack! I’m loving the series and Tuesday can’t come soon enough 💙

Something I don’t understand is the hate that Zauberhaft Natürlich gets on this site. People complain that whether Maxim has any sort of romantic feelings toward Ich is unclear and yet when it is made clear in the musical with the edition of Zauberhaft Natürlich that he at least is somewhat fond of her (whether that fondness equates to love is another matter I won’t get into here) people complain anyway. I mean to each their own, but at least it’s not like Sie’s Fort with its ten unnecessary reprises or I’m an American Woman which is really only in the show for the sole purpose of giving the actress playing Mrs. Van Hopper something else to do other than sit backstage after the Monte Carlo segment, and even then she’s not even in the second act so what’s the goddamn point?

I lowkey hope Amandla don’t post anything regarding the cancellation. Because seeing the difference in the comment section between her and Manny is staggering but not surprising. I want her to protect her peace and I know that if Amandla post the racists will come out in plagues and just infest her comment section. I want her to protect her peace. This is why I wish Disney and Lucasfilm protected her. But nah, they never do shit to protect their actors. If she does manage to post, please flood her IG with love and support.

it is just soooooo funny to me how harshly and out of context people on this site will willingly take a jewish woman's opinion on something and idk i think if you really tried hard you might understand why a jewish woman wouldn't like the idea of essentially having to wear a badge that identifies between two groups of people

i believe to everyone who watches bridgerton it is noticeable that there is a difference between the behavior of colin in season 1 and season 2. while s1 colin is playful, flirty, kind of hopeless romantic, s2 colin is more self reflective as a whole.

i was, then, wondering to myself the reasoning behind this change of character. there is the obvious one for anyone watching the show: he went through a deception and a broken engagement, and still was recovering himself.

and then there was the reason more obvious for book fans: they were preparing him for the next season that would be, in fact, his (i don’t know about you, but since first watching s2 i suspected s3 would be polin because of colin’s reflections). his dilemma over seeking a purpose is a considerable part of his book character but it’s something that led to his character development, being an internal struggle.

but, while overthinking him (as one does), i found myself another important point that i had not yet thought about: colin spends most of his time in season 2 with penelope. if you pay attention to it, most of the times he is engaging in conversation is with her.

so, my point is: we could see more of colin’s insecurities as penelope is the only one he trusts with these topics, especially after they exchange letters for months (which only makes me believe that they became much more closer, as both of them communicate better through writing). as he spends a lot of time with her, someone who lets him open up, he, therefore, opens up to us too. we see his struggle. we see his admiration when she talks about her purpose. we see her suggestions to him as to go after a purpose of his own — and he does. colin still is the playful, charming man he’s always been, but with penelope he’s comfortable enough to be more than that.

i believe that is a good sign for season three as well. having colin’s insecurities out in the open leaves space for him to find out what fulfills him (hopefully his writings lol), to see the importance penelope has in his life and to deal with all the drama that will involve other plots. i also believe this is why this season is going to be lighter and more romantic than the other two: the characters will know each other from the beginning (even with other misunderstandings between them). we’ll have space for love and banter and support and friendship while also having the other side of their relationship. we’ll have space to see them growing together, as we’ve been seeing them growing on their own since s1.

even if it’s not book accurate, we’ll have colin and penelope’s story. and to me that’s what matters the most <3
