Finding Winning Prop Bets For The 2020 NFL Draft

This year is expected to be the most-watched NFL Draft in history while being one of the most unpredictable drafts in recent memory. Unpredictable, because after the first two players on the board, there is no consensus. Unpredictable, because pro days were canceled because of COVID-19, and teams have had far fewer meetings with players. And unpredictable because a smooth draft is dependent on the coaches and GMs of all 32 teams having good WiFi connections. All of that unpredictability can only mean one thing - anyone can find a winning prop bet because anything could happen at this year’s NFL Draft.

Player Draft Specials

The most intriguing player to talk about is Tua Tagovailoa. He has world-class talent but is just a few months removed from a serious hip injury. If he’s worth taking a risk with a high pick, which team is most likely to select him? Dolphins +150 Chargers +175 Jaguars +500 Raiders +1000 The smart money is on the Dolphins or Chargers, and both teams still need to solidify a QB for 2020 and the future. Chase Young is the best defensive player in the draft, but Isaiah Simmons is the most intriguing because of his versatility. Which team is most likely to draft Simmons? Panthers +225 Giants +350 Cardinals +700 Falcons +700 Chargers +700 Interesting to see the Chargers near the top of this prop bet since they are also in the Tua sweepstakes. But if Tagovailoa goes to Miami, the Chargers will probably go with defense or trade back.

LSU vs. Alabama

College rivalries don’t end just because players move on to the NFL, and the rivalry between LSU and Alabama has carried over into a couple of different prop bets. You can bet the over/under on the number of players taken in the first round: Alabama Over 5.5 (+100) Under 5.5 (-121) LSU Over 5.5 (+235) Under 5.5 (-305)

Or you can just take the two rivals in a head-to-head matchup for most players taken in the first round: Alabama -240 LSU +190

SPEEDZ Super Bowl Props & Preview

It’s been a great year and we finally arrive at the Super Bowl. It’s bitter sweet because it signals the start of a long, cold off-season but we get a game with some intriguing matchups and a De Facto national holiday! The Super Bowl brings a little something for everyone from the commercials to the halftime show, so this week I’m giving you my preview on the game AND some fun props to consider if you want some more random action!

First of all, if I hear this framed as the brash, young, dynamic, black, Cam Newton and his physical gifts facing off against Peyton Manning with his savvy, class, and mental acumen I’m gonna cheer for the 10/1 odds for an earthquake! This is wrong on so many levels – not only should we keep the social context out of it and appreciate good football, these guys literally do not face off – they face off against the other defense and that’s how to look at this game.

When you look at each side of the ball I think it favors Carolina. As Peyton has become more and more disabled, there have been fewer attempts outside the numbers. If he’s confident enough to go outside this Sunday, you have SPEEDZ DPOY Josh Norman roaming around and don’t forget about Luke Kuechly (who already has 2 INTs this postseason) and Thomas Davis (and is broken arm) underneath. I don’t see Owen Daniels running wide open down the field like he did in the AFC Championship game. The Panthers will actually focus on stopping the run and force Peyton to beat them. I know it sounds weird, but he hasn’t shown that he can throw the ball well enough to get it done, and all the retirement talk only backs that up.

On the other side of the ball we have the #1 ranked Denver defense. Here’s the catch – they were playing teams in New England and Pittsburgh who could not, and did not want to run the ball. These Panthers are a very different animal. I see them running right at speed rushers Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware with everyone from Jonathan Stewart, to Cam Newton, to Ted Ginn. This will open it up for Cam who has been the MVP all year. The Panthers have looked dominant recently and while Wade Phillips may be able to scheme a bit to slow it down, I see this offense continuing to roll, and dab.

Peyton will keep the legacy of almost getting there, closing out his career going 1-3 in the Super Bowl. It’s Cam Newton’s air and he’s the bad man getting his feet wet now! – Panthers 27-17. And now, the props!

?       Will the term “Dab” or “Dabbing” be mentioned Over/Under 2 times during the broadcast? It’s gonna be so sad to hear Nantz and Simms try to sound cool, but they are gonna try. OVER

?       Who will the MVP thank first? God (2/1), Team (2/1), City/Fans (6/1), Coach (15/2), or Family (15/1)? Gotta figure Cam is the favorite to be MVP and research shows he says “it’s a God thing”.  Go with God.

?       Will the Super Bowl have Over/Under 117 Million viewers? Everybody’s watching this, unlike the Pro Bowl debacle last week - OVER

?       Will Lady Gaga sing the anthem in Over/Under 2:20? You would think Lady Gaga goes long, but the average is only 1:53 so don’t buy this Fugazi! UNDER

?       Will the longest enforced Penalty be Over/Under 15.5 yards? This is easy money – Pass interference anyone? OVER

?       Will the Panthers score a Rushing TD -200 More easy money – Lay the juice, this is a lock!YES
