Majority of regular people here just do their works, hustle throughout the day and go back to families at night. I won’t comment on all the stuff you posted here, because I think some of it is outside my wheelhouse, but overall I do agree.

If they aren’t going to speak up for Palestine, the least they could do is not actively show support for people and entities standing in solidarity with Zionist ideals. I know I’ve not been the best at boycotting everything, but I haven’t been streaming Hybe artists, haven’t been buying from food chains essentially bragging about supporting Israel, and have been doing my best in retweeting and reposting Palestinian voices.

Hobi posting his pics with Pharrell and Joon commenting under it, sucks, flat out. Tae posting McDonald’s despite the year since the boycotts began, sucks. Jin working with Zionist companies, sucks. Jimin and JK working with Zionist artists, suck, and yeah, I do think it’s fair to say they aren’t standing up for what they claim to believe in. I do want to give them room to speak up once they’re out of the military, even Jin, because his words can still cause them backlash, but again… posting Zionist affiliates while in is not a necessity.

The members are actively choosing to stand in solidarity with people who either blatantly or passively want Palestinians dead, and aren’t posting anything to showcase their support of the opposite. It’s not an example of who they shaped themselves to be, unless they’ve always been pro-genocide and ethnic cleansing. Or unless they’ve always been uncaring, and only pretended for the aesthetic. Hopefully we’ll get an answer by the time they’re all discharged.

Regardless, if this is something you choose to step away from them for, you won’t find judgment here. My morals are not without flaw, but I completely understand anyone who decides BTS aren’t worth waiting for in this context. It’s smart business to stand with Zionists, which is honestly why I think so many celebs and companies are. I don’t think they give two fucks about the actual issue, which might be naïve of me, but I don’t think anyone in BTS or Justin Bieber or fucking Usher have thought about Palestinians right to live freely on their land, once in their life.

Which, if they stood with Palestine, would be fine. It’s okay to be unaware of a situation, learn about it, then state how wrong you think it is to bomb innocent people out of house, home, and history. It’s an entire other thing to not know, and either learn or read sparks notes, and stand with the terrorist bombing and colonizing people for no reason. I think these people and companies are looking out for their bottom line, but it speaks a shit ton about who they are inside, when the mass murdering of children isn’t enough to turn down a paycheck.

November 29 2023 Boulder

I missed our niece, Elayna's birrhday, which was earlier this month while I was still in Barcelona. Of course I sent gifts I sent her gifts that I ordered online, so that helped, but I miss her when I'm away and she is so busy with work and her life that i seldom see her even when we are in Colorado. Such is the way with young adults so I'm grateful for any time I do get to spend with her.

We also missed our niece Autumn, Elayna's "little" sister (she's taller than Elayna) at the end of October, so I sent gifts to her and also some for her son, Maddox. Autumn is currently in a custody dispute with Maddox's father and we are grateful that her current boyfriend, Sully, is there for her during this difficult time and that he is SO good with Maddox, who adores him.

Autumn as a child was such a happy, active, funny, quirky little girl and she still has some of those same qualities now, but she is a very responsible person and a marvelous mother.

We are grateful that while we are away Hobie and Katie send us photos and videos of Maple on a regular basis. She was with us again today and it was SO much fun (at least for me) to be outside in the newly fallen snow, "throwing snowballs", and watching her in the bathtub with her bath toys and the bubbles that she likes SO much. She giggled when I squirted her with water with one of her plastic fishes. After that she fell asleep in my lap while I rocked her and sand to her and I took a mini-nap too!

This afternoon I "attended" on ZOOM a Jewish Voice for Peace, of which I'm a member as an ally, informational meeting on Christian Zionism, which was totally fascinating and about which I had been clueless.

There were experts who spoke about the history of the Middle East after World War II, the invasion of Palestine to "create" the state of Israel, which wasn't at that time an apartheid state because the Zionists didn't have enough power. The also spoke about the Nakba, which is similar to a holocaust, of the Palestinian people, when, initially in 1948, 750,000 Palestinians were forced to flee to other countries. The Nakba continued throughout 75 years and the diaspora has been very committed and active from afar to support the Palestinians who are still living in a SMALL part of what used to be their county, under occupation and controlled in almost every aspect of their daily lives by the Israeli government and military.

I have been an activist working for the liberation of Palestine for many years but I still didn't fully understand completely the history or the politics, so this seminar was quite helpful for me. The most intriguing part, though was the history of the Zionists in Britain and the United States, who were mostly White Supremacist Christians, who had planned the occupation of Palestine in the late 1800s, long before it actually took place, to facilitate the "Second Coming of Jesus."

It turns out there are many more White Supremacist Christian Zionists than Jewish Zionists and their goal is to completely erase the Palestinian people and seize control of their land, which, unfortunately, the Western nations are not only NOT preventing, but facilitating with their shipments of arms to Israel , their support of this now apartheid state, and the refusal to call for a ceasefire.

If you have ever wondered why Trump's MAGAs support Israel so vehemently, when, in fact the majority, if not all of them are White Supremacist Christians who are racist and hate Jews, along with Blacks, women, LGBTQ people and pretty much anybody who isn't like them, well now you have a glimpse into the REAL reasons for that support. They are extremely anti-Semitic but pro-Zionist because they ARE Zionists.

I now know enough to share different perspectives with friends, and especially Jewish friends who may have been brought up to believe in the "right of Israel to defend itself" when, in fact, it is now, and always has been the aggressor in the conflict, and is now perpetrating a genocide against innocent civilians, and especially women and children.

If you have a different opinion, you have a right to it, but that doesn't make it true, so I urge you to do your homework, as I and many others, especially Jewish people all around the world, have been doing, now more than ever. When Jewish people say "Not in My Name" they mean it and SO many of them are intricately involved in the cause of Palestinian liberation. WE WILL OVERCOME and Palestine will be free, no matter how long it takes.

Of course, there is also the almost never mentioned (at least by the corporate media) and not inconsequential matter of there being a LOT of natural gas off the coast of Gaza that Israel is already selling leases to the fossil fuel companies to drill once it has total control of Gaza. If you follow the money it always leads to the greedy bastards who are trying to control everything to enhance their power and wealth.

Please do not just so blazingly bring fake characters into actual real life politics and real tragedies. It feels so cheap and in poor taste and like it waters down the reality of what is happening to people. Hobie Brown isn't real, people are. I don't see the point of that comment other than brownie points.

I apologize for doing so, my intent wasn’t to get brownie points or water down the situation - more so to bring attention to the genocide in Palestine by using characters in popular media. I saw people making fanart of certain characters with pro-Palestine messages/ flags so that’s where the idea came from - I didn’t realize what I said would diminish the situation.
