#PP: Vidcund Curious

Tycho grew up into a knowledge sim like his Dad! He’s an genius night owl with the science hobby who likes staying up late watching the stars. Good luck waking him when he sleeps in all morning the next day, he’s a heavy sleeper! He’s also kind of over-emotional, a trait he definitely didn’t pick up from his stoic father.

He immediately rolled a want to get the extra-terrestrial reparation grant, so he will be working on getting abducted as a teenager and meeting some of those distant relatives from other planets.

I can’t remember when I last showed his personality, it’s a fun one! He’s neat, outgoing, super active, super nice, and super serious.

I’ve already forgotten what his actual turn-ons are, but he likes girls.

Party time! Most of the Curious clan and and family friends the Weiss family all show up, along with Mia, one of Tycho’s friends from school. Curious parties always end up being family reuinions, haha.

Neither Nervous or Pascal are really party people, but having a new baby gives them a good excuse to hide away form the crowd a bit.

Fastidious kid that he was, Tycho of course had to finish washing up some plates before it was time to blow out his candles. It felt odd having Street there as a guest rather than a family member - the two had grown up as close as brothers, and they’d always taked about having a shared birthday party.

But having a day all to himself was pretty sweet, actually.

Vidcund: Welcome to the building! You seem nice and normal.

Marla: Oh dear, should I be worried?

Vidcund: No, no, sorry. Just a residual habit from growing up in Strangetown, I’m always expecting the strange and unusual when it comes to neighbours.

Marla: Hehe, well, wait until you meet my boyfriend...

The night ends with everyone watching Vidcund Curious get his ass kicked by one of the grand vampires, lmao

Kristen: Okay, so... definitely pregnant! What do you think?

Vidcund: I couldn’t be any more delighted. Are you happy? I know it’s a busy time at work, and the team would have to bench you for a few months...

Kristen: It’s not the end of the world, I can recover. Sure, it’s a little bit earlier than we planned, but I’m pretty excited?

Vidcund: Me too, dear. Anything I can do to support you, just say the word. Maybe I can apply for longer paternity leave so you’re back on the field faster?

Kristen: That’s sweet of you.

Vidcund: It’s only logical. My job isn’t as physically taxing, and the students will be home for the summer so I doubt they’ll miss me. What do you think about the name summer, for a girl?

Kristen: I think you’re getting a little ahead of yourself! We’ll have to move as soon as we can, I don’t want our kid growing up in this crummy apartment.

Vidcund: Ah, yes, there are plenty of practical concerns to be addressed! Let’s make a plan. I’ll go grab a notepad.

Vidcund Curious - Nurturing, Grumpy, Eccentric, Bookworm, Green Thumb

The city isn’t really Vidcund’s thing, too many people for his liking, but the change in location isn’t all bad, it’s certainly broadened his horizons! The commute is inconvenient, of course, but his priorities aren’t really centered on his research right now. He’s focused on getting married as soon as possible, and maybe getting fit!

He was never very enthusiastic about sports like his fiancée, but seeing her passion for it, he can’t help but get interested himself. Plus, the health benefits are undeniable.

The wedding isn’t quite as big as it could be - mainly because my community lot parties mod wasn’t working so I had to make the wedding into an outing, haha. You can only fit so many sims so it’s just Vidcund’s siblings, plus their partners (which of course includes all Kristen’s friends & former roomies, too!).

Jenny, Lazlo (with Erin - I guess Penny was keeping an eye on the kids), Pascal and Lola (with Ajay) all made it, but Chloe apparently had better things to do than attend her brother’s wedding :( She and vidcund aren’t that close and she and Kristen never got along, so I guess it’s not unexpected...

Lazlo: Right, I’d just like to say a few words... My brother Vidcund’s always had such abysmal luck with the ladies. I’ll never forget high school, where he pissed himself in front of his very first girlfriend! We weren’t sure he’d ever even get another girlfriend after that, let get married!!

Vidcund: Screw you, Lazlo. I knew I should have picked Pascal.

Lazlo: But beneath his crabby exterior, Vidcund has always had a good heart - I’ve never known anyone so loyal and devoted! Kristen’s a very special and very lucky lady.

Erin: Hear hear! I always knew those two would get married, my psychic powers gave me an inkling...

Right, that’s all for the Loste household! I think I actually went with “Curious” in-game for their new surname (Kristen Curious has a nice ring to it! and “Loste” seems like bad luck for an athlete name, lmao) but I’m keeping the actual household name as Loste just for convience’s sake, since there are already so many Curiouses running around in the uberhood. Not that it makes much difference since I’m keeping their tags as-is, haha.

I wasn’t planning on giving them a kid right away, since they both seemed like the type to wait until the timing was just right, but hey, ACR had other plans. Vidcund is a family secondary so he’s pretty excited about it, just gotta move them into a nicer place. Maybe the other branches of the family will give them a bit of a financial leg-up, apartments are such a money drain it’s hard for sims to get onto the property ladder once they move in (like real life lmao).

The apartment was still so disgusting, Vidcund was going to have to do sometihng about it one of these days and give the entire place a deep-clean. Kristen hadn’t been much help in that regard. She was, if he was entirely honest, a bit of a slob. You wouldn’t guess it - she seemed so put together! But just one of the things you discovered when you moved in with somebody, he supposed.

Next up: Vidcund and Kristen! The couple recently got engaged, and are currently living Downtown so that Kristen can be close to work. They’re hoping to move somewhere a little nicer eventually, perhaps with more room to raise a family! But for now, this is nice.

Vidcund: Are you all right, dear?

Kristen: Just a little tired. I think I might be pregnant? I’ll pick up a test on my way to lunch.

Vidcund: That’s great news!

Kristen: Don’t get too excited just yet, it’s only a hunch.

Vidcund: Well, do let me know. Send me a text or something, the last thing I want is Erin and Ajay finding out over lunch before me...

Kristen: Ha!  It’s not like I’m gonna do the test in the diner toilets. I promise I’ll let you know as soon as I know, babe.
