Ashley: We are not singing “girls just want to have fun”.

Heather: Oh yes we are!

Maybe running away from home wasn’t such a bad thing. Rick’s used to having Violet as his only friend, but since he moved into the warehouse he’s meeting all kinds of interesting new people, even other teens! Melody and Desdemona are both weird, but they’re fun to hang out with.

I... guess the Capps are on a day trip?

Nope, she makes it out unseen!

“Nice wheels, Des. You Capps really know how to do things in style! So... where to?”

Still, while Peter is tucking tommy in Sharla sneaks out to let off some steam.

“All right, kid, what’s got you so scared?” 

“I’m going to grow up and, um, I don’t want people thinking I’m a girl!”

“Aren’t you a girl?”

“Nuh-uh.” 

“Do you feel more like a boy?”

“Not really.”

“That’s cool, Ari. You don’t have to be anything if you don’t feel like it, okay?”

“Who’s Beatrice going steady with?”

“Buck Grunt, of all people,” she grumbled, “hey! How did you know I was talking about Bea?”

“Because you never talk about anything else, sis. I’ve had to be a moron not to notice you were in love with her - you’re my sister for heaven’s sake. Anyway, don’t look so glum. I bet you could win her over if you put up a fight! You could probably beat Buck in a fight, too.”

“It’s not the same as that dumb stealing-Ben’s-girl thing you pulled!! She’s definitely straight, I wouldn’t stand a chance even if Buck Grunt were to drop dead.”

“Oh, yeah, the straight-best-friend thing... I get you. That’s tough.”

“I hope you’re not implying you’re in love with Ben, or I’m going to have to break you neck.”

“I’m not admitting it, but I’m not denying it.”

“What??? And you broke his heart and by going after his girlfriend? You are SO STUPID.” 

“Hey, I’m in love with her too, okay? Like you’re any better.”

“I know, I know. Why are we both so terrible at love, Hal?”

BBFs Lucy and Bo catch up as the party winds down... 

“Psst. Keep this on the DL, but...”

Goneril’s obviously in a good mood this evening, she took the time to play with Ariel and compliment Desdemona on her new look.

“I like the new hairstyle, dear.”

“You do? I thought you might get mad-”

“Oh, I used far too much of my energy arguing with Miranda over her fashion choices and a fat lot of good that did... Anyway, it suits you.”

“Aw, thanks, Mum!”

“To be honest, I’m a little envious. I always wanted to do something a little more outrageous to my hair when I was a teenager, but I was never allowed.”

“Why not do it now? Miranda could come over and help you bleach it, then-”

“Are you joking? Your grandmother would fire me instantly!”

Meanwhile it’s time for Hal to get ready for college and Ariel to get ready for a birthday! 

Lucy: So, what are you going to study?

Hal: Political science, probably.

Lucy: You’re going to be a politician? 

Hal: A lawyer. 

Lucy: Sweet! Maybe you can defend me and Bo in court if we ever... uh.. need it? Not that we have any nefarious plans or anything.

Hal: Lucy, I hate to break it to you but Bo tells literally everyone about your criminal ambitions, I didn’t even realize they were supposed to be a secret.

Hal was definitely full of crap when he suggested the Beatrice thing was anything but a lost cause but hey... it was never a bad time for a new look! It wasn’t like she was expecting Bea to suddenly notice her cute, almost fae-like charm!

“Do you best, son.”

“Bye-bye, Hal!”

“Goodbye, sweetie.”

“See you, bro! I’ll miss ya!”

So he was off to Académie Le Tour. Hal felt a little sad to be leaving town without fixing things with Ben properly, but maybe the distance would do them good. Bo was coming along to the same university as him, but we wasn’t sure what was going to happen with them. Things had been kind of rocky, understandably, the way they got together was all wrong and it just didn’t feel right without Ben in the picture... ugh. 

Perhaps at college he could have a more sensible, drama-free love life? Or, better yet, he could stop worrying about relationships and focus on his studies! Yeah, that sounded great. He’d work hard, graduate with honors, start his own law firm, and worry about marriage and kids later, maybe when the family found a good match for him.

Party time! Goneril makes it home from work just in time. Cordelia didn’t feel like gracing them with her presence, but Regan showed up and all Ariel’s little friends were there, many of them already teens.

“So are you another of Hal’s love interests? He really knows how to-”

“No!!! I have standards, you know. And I’m Bo’s best friend.”
