About a month ago I watched a few playthroughs of the game "pools", honestly terrifying stuff, it really got to me 😅🫠

POOLS is a video game that's very effective at evoking dread. You're waiting and waiting for something bad to happen, some kind of monster to be in there with you, while you walk through endless pool rooms with just you and your thoughts. And who's to say you're really alone; you're never really sure. There isn't really an experience like it, and I find it incredibly interesting that some people find the setting to be comforting. I'm a bit of both in regards to that, and I've wanted to do some kind of AU for it ever since I fell in love with the game.

fyi if you want to play "pools" bc you're like me and think horror games are cool but you're a wuss, the advertising that there are no jump scares is a lie

they're not loud, and nothing technically "jumps" at you, but they are sudden and unpleasant

after chickening out of Echostasis, I went and played Pools. it was a palate cleanser. a nice walk down some rabbit holes.

and then that's it, that's all the videos I'd had recorded. all posted now.

I normally do not play Horror games, but Pools is honestly the best take on the liminal space genre. It reminds me of a lot of dreams that I have had that bordered on being nightmares. It's the most well-done out of the games of the liminal space genre, since less is more as far as the entities are concerned. It evokes nostalgia to me, but it also makes me feel relaxed as much as it makes me feel unnerved. I recommend it.

was feeling kinda down this morning so i drew max six times and that seemed to do the trick
