APH College AU Headcanons: Sweden
Dw, I’ll finish the Asians before moving on to the Nordics, I just had an urge to write Swe first. Explanation post here, AU tag is #college au musings on my blog!
- Architecture and design major
- As a hobby, he makes decorative and functional wood and clay figurines and furniture designs in the Scandinavian minimalism style.
- He usually makes smol animal figurines like this because they are smooth and curved with no sharp lines, friendly looking, and add nice, subtle touches to interior spaces. (But mostly, I just really like this headcanon because of the juxtaposition between a tall, intimidating looking guy working very diligently and quietly on small arts and crafts that could even be considered cute. It’s a nice image, and I think it’s fitting for Sweden’s character.)
- Decided to open an Etsy for his crafts and stuff (might as well try to support himself with his hobby). For each piece, there’s usually only one in stock because he makes everything by hand, so there aren’t any duplicates and every item he sells is slightly different. His shop is actually a lot more popular than his freelance work (see next hc); he thinks it’s sadly ironic his hobby is more useful than what he actually plans to do for a living :’) but he usually just takes it in stride and often reminds himself that he’s lucky to even have a hobby he can support himself with, and he doesn’t mind pivoting and making a living out of his Etsy.
- Trying to work freelance as a logo/graphic designer (he is an architecture student, but I don’t think many people would hire a college kid to design their buildings yet…). He’s still building up his portfolio, so he doesn’t have many customers yet.
- Lowkey dream job is to be an IKEA designer. Before you laugh, there are only 20 designers who make ALL the products they put out each year, so I’m gonna assume it’s incredibly hard to get a spot in the club.
- Really good at focusing, even though he lives in an apartment with the other Nordics who are very cHaoTiC
- Does fika almost religiously (it’s a Swedish coffee break where you relax and talk with the people around you, catch up and stuff). He never forgets it, and usually asks or forces the other Nordics to join him. It might be because of having this daily habit, but he never gets highkey stressed.
- B+ to A+ range grades. He really picked a good major, because he has an eye for design and a knack for building things, which makes homework and projects come fairly easy. Not a big fan of essays and typing, so he usually uses the dictation tool/voice input even if it sounds like he’s talking to himself (Denmark teases him about this a lot). His English and science skills are competent, but not stellar (and he’s not really interested in those subjects either), and he’s better at history and math.
- Always finishes his assignments in a timely manner; if he’s cramming or staying up late, he’ll only need an extra hour or two to wrap up and then he’ll go to bed around 11:30-12:45
- Very healthy lifestyle. Doesn’t eat much fast food or ramen or snacks instead of actual meals, exercises moderately, usually gets enough sleep. Has his life /mostly/ together so far.
- He used to go to the school cafe for breakfast but now just makes a half sandwich from scratch: one piece of toast with vegetables and some cheese on top. For lunch he always goes to the same food place and orders the same thing every time: chicken salad without mayonnaise and a yogurt (ok I have very little knowledge of food so please suggest alternatives that are more in character)
- Eats wheat crackers as a snack (would eat Swedish crispbread instead if he could buy it)
- Knows all the tricks when using rendering and editing software, ex Blender or photoshop. Very skilled at working on the computer for digital assignments.
- He prefers to take notes by hand, and always has a couple smaller sketchbook/graph paper notebooks on him (for design ideas and structure studies) as well as a lined paper one for notes. His handwriting is rather thin and narrow but very neat (like this). Has sworn off using pen.
- He renovated the Nordics’ whole shared apartment almost right after he moved into it (at the time it was just him and Denmark in there). Remade it into a perfect example of Scandinavian minimalism, and it’s very pleasant even if the rest of the apartment building is kinda dingy However, all the Nordics have personally redecorated their bedrooms to fit their own aesthetic and Sweden has a bit of a seizure when he goes into Finland’s room and sees death metal/rock aesthetic everywhere
- Doesn’t speak often in class, but when he does, it’s a thoughtful, intriguing comment or a well planned burn
- Has a fairly good relationship with his professors; they like his work ethic, designs, and how he’s pretty mature (some of them also like his lowkey sass). He likes them as well because they aren’t very scared by his resting bitch face, and as a result he talks to them a lot and has gotten to know them well. He’s been highly recommended for internships by some of them
- He and Norway have roasting sessions as they look on at people (Denmark) doing stupid things (often while drunk)
- This has no canon context but I really want Sweden and Netherlands to be friends in this AU, so they are. They met through Denmark, and the three go biking together sometimes. Sweden is more uptight about stuff, being healthy and not being obscene in public and nOt SmOKinG NeD pls save your lungs, Ned does not care and goes right on smoking. But like, they both admire things about each other; Berwald likes Ned’s efficiency with money and how he can get along with many people (at least on a business level) and Ned is impressed with Berwald’s prowess in design. Also they are both tall and sorta intimidating and that is a good enough similarity for a foundation of friendship
- He hasn’t joined a club, but has been called by the art people, some theater people, and some other miscellaneous clubs to build props and things for them. He’s chill about it, and likes taking the odd jobs around campus (obviously he doesn’t get paid but whatever)
- Has a reputation for being intimidating and scary because he doesn’t talk much and his face definitely isn’t an open book for his feelings, but if people actually talk to him without being scared they quickly find out he can be very playful, or at least is gentle and very nice
- But he doesn’t spill all his secrets to friends obviously; he just gets more talkative and more willing to share about things he likes and is passionate about
- I mentioned before that he’s not highkey stressed much, but he does feel like his future is futile (alliteration!) sometimes and sometimes just gets tired of doing work and needs a hug
- Also, you can’t really tell if he’s angry, but his expression gets stonier and he gets more threatening. Usually happens when someone insults one of his brothers or when he sees something unfair happening
I have some more but I forgot my basic structure for these headcanon posts so take this. Taiwan is next! Thank you for reading, and feedback is welcome and appreciated!

i preserved in him what he needed to believe about you.
i wrote yesterday that this episode had a lot riding on it. for the most part, it delivered--mostly in anchoring both dick and slade’s arcs, expanding on the themes introduced in s2, and in firmly establishing jericho as My Favourite Forever And Ever. it was also very flawed, but in (mostly) interesting ways. let’s talk about it!
SPOILERS ahead.
1. jericho has my whole heart and then some. i think it would’ve been very easy to paint him with broad strokes--my fear was they would drag the innocence all the way to the edge of infantilisation, which, good god NO--but while he is enthusiastic and ready to believe the best of both his friends and family, there’s a sharpness to him, a kind of reckless guile, and quite a lot of unresolved and complicated feelings about father figures.
1.25. he is obviously very proud of his father having served in the military--he’s even tangentially aware that he was experimented on, given his nonchalant attribution of his own powers to “drugs” that his father took while serving. (this awareness has to include the fact that his father definitely took a number of lives as a soldier.) even the awful assault that took away his voice and eventually his father from his life tracks with a single, knowable truth. knowing this helped him ground his own identity--the problem comes when he realises that what he’d used to build himself on was itself built on a lie.
there is a tension, then, between his loyalty to these friends who used him but ultimately revealed the truth to him, and his desire to have that cornerstone of his life back. his compromise is to talk to his father, but only with dick’s permission; in it, he would know if his father was finally ready to be completely honest with him, and if there was more to dick’s friendship than merely using jericho to get to his father.
1.3. of course, it doesn’t exactly work that way: in the final fight at the church, there are two men who insist on their truth while pushing him to the side. in it, he sees one of them ruthlessly cut down the other, and he sees the other using his own body and life to protect him. jericho makes his choice in the end.
1.45. dick i think was absolutely right and justified in bringing jericho to a safe place where he can explore and learn to control his powers, even if dick was surprisingly blase about the potential ethical tangles of being able to possess other people’s bodies without them being aware of it. it was honestly a bit disturbing to see that hank was chosen to demonstrate jericho’s powers, given his history and the fact that he describes the experience as a “blackout”. i’m just going to assume that he would’ve come around to it eventually.
given the relative paucity of Big Bads and grand superhero battles, i’m kind of taken with the idea of the titans essentially being a support group for young troubled superheroes who need help and training and ways to ground themselves before heading back to their corners of the world.
1.5. ultimately this episode once again drives home what should be the essential question in a show that revolves around a team of superhero sidekicks: are we destined to be what we were moulded to be? is the point of their existence to perpetuate what their mentors/fathers did? slade and jericho both struggle with this; so do dick and donna in this episode. so do rose, and jason, and rachel, and conner, and kory in the broader context of the series. the answers they find are complicated and at the cost of a great deal of pain, but the process is always interesting.
1.8. obviously jericho isn’t actually dead. i wonder what that initial dreamscape sequence was all about? is it some secret pocket dimension that jericho jumped into at the last minute when slade killed his body? is that where he’s been for the last five years?
2. dick grayson is lost. he is utterly buried under artifice and armour. i mentioned in a previous post (i think the one for 2.07) that he performs quite a bit of emotional labour for the team on top of being their leader in a tactical sense. here, he’s trying to hold it together for the team after a devastating death; he’s spearheading an effort for revenge he thought they all supported. he pulls on batman-goggles, trying to look at what he’s doing from a logical, emotionally-removed perspective, even while burying his bleeding heart as deep as he possibly can. no wonder he’s acting “like a ghost” and “burning at both ends”--it’s a terrible burden to bear.
then the team turns around--once they’ve already gotten the info they needed, mind!--and tells him to cut jericho out of this operation; that it’s wrong and awful to have involved him at all. when he tries to do just that, he sees that he can actually help jericho as a friend and teammate, and at the urging of dawn, comes clean to him. meanwhile garth’s death and donna’s grief is still an unrelenting pressure on the back of his neck, driving him to find deathstroke at any cost--except when that cost is betraying jericho’s trust. ultimately slade nearly murdering donna is what breaks him--and he decides to follow jericho to slade anyway.
at every point he is so desperately trying to do good by everybody that he loses himself in the process. that his reward for this is being beaten up, a truckload of survivor’s guilt, and being abandoned by his closest friends is just so fucking awful. his friends are so used to his artifice and he is so used to absorbing all the blame that they think nothing of both praising him for being someone that saves people and believing he would sacrifice innocent lives for the sake of a mission in the same day.
(but this makes dick/kory so beautiful and refreshing--she has no time for his artifice and he doesn’t have to Be Someone around her. their relationship is defined by being undefined, and in that sense--at least for now--both of them find peace in the other.)
2.5. slade commenting coldly on dick’s fighting skills and the way he uses dick’s feelings for jericho to distract and defeat him makes me think that slade’s been playing this game with dick for far longer than he was aware: slade used both jericho and donna as bait to lure dick to that church, fought him in a cold, critical way undoubtedly reminiscent of a thousand sparring sessions with batman, and drove him utterly to the ground not just to prove a point to the titans and the superhero community at large but to jericho as well: this man is weak, manipulative, and ultimately a poor substitute for slade.
2.75. who knows for how long dick wallowed in his failure, still seeing jericho take the blade that was meant for him, utterly alone? did he go back to the batcave, utterly defeated, and did he listen to bruce call him out on his mistakes? how much do you think he internalised all the terrible things he’d been told he was until he believed it all to be true? until he couldn’t live with himself and spiralled and spiralled until his self-hatred lead to outright self-destruction?
like--no wonder he completely fell apart in the present day when deathstroke showed up again. he’d just started to trust--he’d just started to build a family again. and here it is, a reminder of his biggest failure threatening to have him fail spectacularly once again.
... this boy needs so much therapy. or at least a long nap and a series of hugs.
2.8. (that fight between him and slade tho... goddamn. even my shitty quality stream couldn’t take away from how thrilling it was to watch.)
3. dawn is... well. i know it’s been frustrating to follow dawn this season, as she’s been either non-existent or, uh, flat, but there was something interesting in the way her dynamic with dick moved and shifted in this episode. she thrills to ideals without considering the consequences of actually following those ideals. in the space of a few months, she can implore dick to act like batman, then tell him no, she was wrong to have asked him to do that, then say that she loved him for saving people and then barely days later abandon him for being a reckless sociopath who exploited innocent lives. in the present day, she can support hank in his retirement and rehabilitative process, yet still think it’s perfectly ok to go behind his back and continue being a vigilante. she supported protecting rose in the tower but still piled on dick for going off on his reckless suicide mission to try and save both jason and rose. she endorsed (and once praised) dick taking on troubled young superhero charges, yet turned around and berated him for daring to open up titans tower and “put them in the firing line”.
i mean, for all that she takes the considerate, sensitive line in conversations, it’s almost always in contradiction to a position she’d taken earlier. it’s too consistent to be a coincidence, and i think it’s fascinating.
4. i didn’t realise amazons could be defeated and killed so easily?? who issued the contract to kill jillian in the first place and what was the “important work” they were doing in san francisco in the first place? a mystery within a mystery...
5. if this season were the draft of a story, i would go right in with a red pen and start moving around all the parts to make it flow better; excise entire passages and rewrite a few others. the pacing has been terrible, and this has meant that the younger titans--and the team we came to know and love through the first season--have gotten almost nothing to do, either plot-wise or emotionally. even if kory and gar and rachel become absolutely vital to the story in the last 4-5 episodes, it would still be a fairly significant failure, storytelling-wise.
that’s a pity because this show is packed with a stellar cast, always looks gorgeous, and is filled with genuinely insightful human relationships that are allowed to unfold in ways you just don’t see in other superhero media. just--*vibrates* a little more love and care from the people making and producing the show please!

RATE THE EPISODE 338 Responses
This episode gained a lot of positive responses with 87.6% rating it at a 5, with only a couple people not so impressed. Hopefully future episodes will keep up the high streak!
As it stands right now, this is my favorite episode from the anime. How the Beast Titan's rampage was animated was so much more horrific and impactful than the manga, I felt more sympathy with Erwin than I did when I read the manga, and the final series of scenes that depict the suicide charge were so masterfully done I felt my heart grow heavy. Absolutely spectacular. I hope the next episode is even better <3
It was fucking amazing. Perfect game, more like perfect episode
Great job all around the board imo. The rock throwing was truly horrifying either the red mist, and the screams were done perfectly
So far easily the most harrowing, depressing episode of the anime :/
Even though I knew what it is going to happen in this ep, wit has managed to surprise me. Best episode of the season so far with the first one.
Favorite episode of the series so far
It was great, but the poor animation quality really ruins some serious moments in this arc, as many people are dying
Just Perfect, the tension and release were just on point 👌
Took the crown from S2EP6 as the best of the series for me.
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT? 349 Responses
A lot of attention was on Erwin this chapter and many were moved by his scenes. Most notably, his charge with his soldiers at the Beast Titan led with 28.9% respondents picking it as their favorite moment. 17.8% respondents said Levi kneeling in front of Erwin and vowing to take down Zeke was their favorite, followed by Erwin’s motivational speech at 14.3%.
Bombardment scene was made 30 times better in the anime.
It was the moment we were all waiting for, and it happened and now I'm like a deflated balloon of emotion. Thank you, Erwin.
The imagery of the fallen scouts chilled me and I loved that included Isabel, Farlan, Isle Lagnar etc but my anger towards Annie has been resurged seeing Petra's face. Female titan I'll never forgive you for wrecking Levi Squad!
Erwin and Levi's relationship is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen, and I was happy seeing how it was portrayed, finally. With them having cut so many of the moments that showed Erwin as human, I'm glad they took the time to draw the moment of his smile so much. Long live my Commander, I would have followed him to hell.
I was astonished at how well they adapted Levi and Erwin's scenes. Bravo, the animation was top notch, the voice acting was stellar, like wow.
The bodies on the red background was really dark & was the part that had the most impact on me (as opposed to the manga)
erwin and levi's talk made me a lot more emotional than it did in the manga. the whole team did a pretty damn good job with this episode.
WHO WAS THE EPISODE'S MVP? 348 Responses
Unsurprisingly, Erwin gains the MVP award for this episode. Some think Levi stands out as well.
Erwin is humanity"s greatest soldier. Rest in peace, Commander.
Ono Daisuke is the goddamn mvp
Erwin made me gay
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CONNIE MAKING A PUN ABOUT THE FALLING HOUSES? 346 Responses
28% of respondents can relate to Connie’s stressful comedic moment, with 27.5% believe he has the right to make jokes. Some are rolling their eyes or think this isn’t quite an appropriate time.
I think Connie´s joke was his own form of mental breakdown. It makes him all the more relatable to me.
WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE IF YOU WERE ASKED TO JOIN THE SUICIDE CHARGE? 345 Responses
If asked to join Erwin on the suicide charge, a majority at 38.8% of respondents would have faith in the commander and hope to survive. 30.1% of participants aren’t sure what they would do, while an equal amount of people are between retreating or surrendering on the spot.
Crack a joke like Connie
If Erwin throw himself from a bridge, I would too! The fuck. Ok but being serious, being in that horrible scenario without a chance to survive, just nod and fight until the end.
Fuck it. I'm going die anyway; might as well go out swingin
cry, disassociate, and die. in that order.
Lads you would not catch me within 1000 miles of a battlefield. I'm less useful than Reiner on a battlefield, and that's saying something.
Pull a Floch and shit myself while crying
I would actually with all my heart follow Commander Erwin fucking Smith with no expectations of survival. Never have I ever encountered a man as compelling as him, real or fictional.
Sorry Erwin but... someone’s gotta keep Floch from being an ass. I’m sure you understand.
Not really but what about trying to hide closer to the wall since zeke will be throwing rocks at erwin and the others... then wait until levi is done with the monkey.
I would have never been stupid enough to join the survey corps to begin with lol
DO YOU THINK LEVI MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE TO FOLLOW ERWIN’S PLAN OVER HIS OWN? 346 Responses
41.3% of respondents believe that there was no other choice Levi could have made except to defeat the Beast Titan. 39.9% think the plan was the better of the two strategies.
It was the only viable narrative choice, but if it was a real battle retreating with as many survivors as possible might have been sensible.
Levi gave Erwin salvation by making the choice for him and gladly transferred Erwin's own burden of guilt and responsibilities onto his own shoulders. Which also why the word choice of "follow" seems iffy. Erwin is a proven master strategist and brilliant tactician, so of course you always go with his plan. BUT Levi didn't just 'follow' his plan, he made an active *choice* to implement the plan. It is Levi's plan as much as it is Erwin's.
Levi let his personal feelings get in the way of determining what would be the best hope for Humanity's survival.
I sincerely doubt Beastie would have let the survivors go unmolested all the way back to Wall Rose, and Levi knew it which was why he said he doesn't really expect anyone to survive this situation. Erwin had to make his last contribution to humanity in that moment, and they both knew that.
i think the plan should have been to stunt the beast, as we know that he doesn't get killed here anyway (obvs they don't know that), just buy some time ans save as many souls as possible.
HOW MUCH DID ERWIN’S INSPIRATIONAL SPEECH MOTIVATE YOU? 345 Responses
A large majority of voters are willing to believe in Erwin’s encouraging words and die by them no matter the risk.
I'LL FOLLOW YOU TO THE GRAVE COMMANDER ERWIN!!
ERRRRWWWIIIINNN!
WHO YELLED THE BEST INSULT TO BERTOLT? 345 Responses
Out of the few distracting insults, Sasha calling Bertolt a “massive pervert lord” was the best out of the three for 69.6% of respondents.
BEST SHOCKED FACE THIS EPISODE? 348 Responses
It isn’t often Levi is caught off-guard, so his shocked expression this episode was favored by 41.1% of voters. 23.3% of people thought Erwin had an expressive reaction as well.
Erwin’s face when he got hit... Wish we could’ve seen the gore though.
HOW WELL DID WIT ADAPT THE CORRESPONDING CHAPTERS? 343 Responses
There were a couple unsatisfied viewers, but overall a majority of participants believe the episode was fairly accurate to the manga.
the suicide charge was perfectly done.
that slow mo scene of the first boulder shower was amazing! and then the red mist of blood, the screams and cries of fear, pain, and death of the soldiers, the shock, despair, the ghosts of the dead soldiers, the emotion of Erwin and Levi’s last conversation, gosh this episode was beautiful in a morbid and heartbreaking way
It was very well done. It hurt, but not quite as much as the manga did.
Incredible adaptation. I’m tempted to call it flawless.
erwins soft smile after levi confirms what they must do was so special, especially since they hung on erwins face for a while
This episode was far more horrific than the manga version - the blood mist and the screams really upped the fear.
WHICH VERSION OF CONNIE'S JOKE DID YOU LIKE BEST? 346 Responses
There were a few different translations of Connie’s joke depending on the medium. 43.9% preferred Connie’s pun in the manga about Eren having a roof over his head again, while 31.8% thought Connie’s “Yeager” pun in Japanese was the funniest.
The only funny version of connie's joke is the japanese one...
HOW DID THE ADAPTATION OF ERWIN’S MOMENT OF GRIEF AFFECT YOU? 340 Responses
Erwin’s moment of grief was a somber scene for many, and over half of participants feel the adaptation tugged on their heart strings more than when they read the manga. Less than a quarter felt more sympathetic, with quite a number preferring the original manga version better.
There’s something about actually hearing his voice that made me want to cry again
I dunno, I think both mediums had different but equal impact in terms of the actual speech. The anime is very emotionally and viscerally effective, whereas with the manga you take longer to process what's in front of you at your own pace, in the privacy of your own skull. Both very moving.
Can't reproduce reading it for the first time but this was great.
I really liked it, but the manga is still more powerful for me.
Doesn't matter to me. I felt the same sorrow and overwhelmed like in the manga was a couple years ago. Great job WIT, absolutely!
I prefer the scene in the manga because of Erwin having more moments of being himself instead of colder than a summer day in Colorado, as the manga clues in more to him being a sad old man. However, Ono Daisuke’s voice acting was ON POINT. Erwin’s voice cracks like he was going to cry, the distance in his voice, it just made me cry.
I was practically sobbing on the floor, take from that what you will.
The hidden option of: Both were heartbreaking to me
KNOWING FLOCH NOW, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON HIS BREAKDOWN? 348 Responses
Since RtS, Floch has become a paramount character in the current manga arc. Viewing his breakdown in the episode, 37.1% respondents think the moment was great in humanizing him. 18.4% respondents are less moved and found pleasure in his despair. Several were reminded why they used to like Floch and some gave praise to his seiyuu’s performance.
Back when I read the chapters, I found Floch to be annoying, now with the recent ones I really dislike him more. I still felt the same watching the episode but the seiyuu did a good job
Um, a combination of the above options I think. I was always 'meh' about Floch until his jerkface side began to show. So I never actually 'liked' him, but I certainly empathised with him at this point, and his seiyuu was definitely brilliant!
I have never liked him, really
I don't agree with his mindset in the current chapters of the manga but seeing the fucked up shit that he went through being the sole survivor and even then not being able to revive the Commander. I can see that trauma changed him to just follow Eren's instructions that he would let someone like Zeke live on but give far lesser thoughts to his actual saviour, Levi. As such, in the particular episode and the extent of the anime, I pity him and his VA did an amazing job of displaying a normal soldier's reaction.
Independently from his future actions, I think his breakdown is irresponsible and it doesn't help, given the circumstances.
Floch's a prick, but his VA was fantastic here and actually made me sympathize with him quite a bit. Can't wait to hate him again in a few eps though.
I had a lot of sympathy for him at the time in the manga, and seeing it again has made me think about how he's come to the point he has in the current story. PTSD and survivor's guilt explain a lot.
Hate him with a passion. I had forgotten that Levi actually kinda saved him, and now knowing how he wanted to kill Levi in recent chapters made me hate him even more.
I don’t give a floch
I think there still a hidden motive that Floch has since he is definitely following Eren now. I predict that in his mind he is honoring his fallen comrades by acting the way he is in recent chapters. Might be messed up externally, but I think there is more to Floch since his motives likely match Eren’s who we still haven’t quite figured just yet.
Of course we can have sympathy for someone without justifying their actions. I do sympathise terribly with Floch's trauma as the sole survivor of the suicide charge, but I do NOT accept it as a reason to become a militant ethno-nationalist. (His seiyuu was beyond amazing tho, props)
who the fuck is floch?
MARLOWE AND MOBLIT’S DEATHS ARE COMING UP AND SOME HAVE EXPRESSED THAT THEY WOULD LIKE SOME ADDITIONAL ANIME ORIGINAL SCENES FOR THEM - THOUGHTS? 347 Responses
Sadly, Marlowe and Moblit’s death scenes will be shown within the next couple episodes. 50.1% of respondents believe these scenes are impactful enough to stick with the manga while 36% would want to see the anime had something more.
Additional scene definitely for Moblit!! Poor boi is so underrated :'-(
Marlowe :( :( :(
I would definitely like to see more of Moblit, we have barely seen him this season. I feel like the only scenes we'll see him in are pre-death and post-death (we could see him as a ghost in Erwin's grief scene). Moblit deserves way more than this. Marlowe is adorable and seeing him die will be enough to break my heart, especially when you think that the only person surviving that suicide charge was not a great person like him, but the disgusting scumbag that Floch is.
WHICH SCENE FROM THE PREVIEW ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO? 348 Responses
A majority of readers at 69.8% can’t wait to see the infamous first battle between Humanity’s Strongest and the War Chief. 23.3% are more enthusiastic for Armin’s face-off against Bertolt. Needless to say, it’s going to be an eventful episode.
I AM NOT READY FOR SHINGANSHINA FRIED ARMIN.
Isn’t it wild that next episode we’ll likely see the defeat of all three of the Warriors? Bye Zeke, Bye Reiner, Super-Bye Bertholdt.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
This was the best episode so far that has been aired. The emotions were high, the soundtrack was impeccable, the animation/drawings were fantastic (aka Levi had emotions!!!), and it really did a good job manifesting the hopelessness of the situation to the audience.
I forgot how hopeless the situation was during all of this. The constant narrating on stones in the background and the recruits screams really showed that
My only gripes were the music choice and lack of proper facial expression (Although, maybe that's just because Isayama is amazing at expressions)
That red mist was so horrible and made everything look so gruesome, I was in shock. This episode really hit me hard, I wasn't ready to watch it and now that I have, I'm having a hard time recovering
I was HEARTBROKEN at the end of this episode. Hard enough to read the chapter, worse still to see it on screen. So much sorrow and regret for poor Erwin.
I need that piano ost
Rip Erwin. Shinzou'ed his last sasageyo.
I've never felt something watching SnK until this episode. Erwin's face during the suicide charge was something... That was the real face of fear. He knew he had to let go his dreams for the sake of humanity, unlike previous times where he used this excuse to move forward his dream.
The music and Erwins’s voice actor made it nearly perfect
WIT is playing a dangerous game with the amount of CGI they're using. It hasn't really "ruined" anything for me yet, but they're getting close.
I cried even though i already knew what would happen. Is it normal doctor ?
The episodes have just gotten better and better, and this one might just be my favorite in the series. Definitely top 3. Just fantastic execution all around. It truly managed to bring back that feeling of hopelessness. Daisuke Onoue is an absolute legend. Not ashamed to say I cried about 3 times opon rewatches.
This episode broke me. Literally. I was mourning for Erwin for a while after, still am. I thought having read the manga would prepare me somewhat for the Vow™ conversation, but holy shit. I dunno if this is in the manga but Erwin had tears in his eyes when he sat on the crate. Erwin Smith was *crying*. And his voice (kudos to Daisuke Ono!!!) just. Absolutely wrecked me. Amazing, amazing episode. The kind you badly want to rewatch again and again but can't without bolstering up your emotional strength each goddamn time.

Observer of the Celestial Pilgrimage - Throne of the Stellar: Travelling Merchants of the Universe
Again, this one might have some sentences that sound a bit weird as I’m still trying to get the hang of Japanese sentence structure –> English sentence structure. And it was a nightmare to translate. Partially because of its length. More of my translations here.
Also, my progress will pick a speed a bit since I actually have two days off a week now.
Observer of the Celestial Pilgrimage - Throne of the Stellar
Story 3 - Travelling Merchants of the Universe
Fang: Give you a ride with Burst Roar you say? Hope: Yes! I have to get on a spaceship no matter what. Hope: Please! I'll do anything, even cleaning of the ship or potato peeling! Coda, Fang: …………. Fang: First of all, raise your head, Hope. We can't talk if all I can see is your whorl of hair, can we? Hope: Ah……. Fang: Why you want to ride on a spaceship so much, do you mind if I ask about your circumstances? Hope: ……no. Hope: I want to look for the important person who suddenly disappeared…….
1 month ago Curse: Well then, I'm off. Hope. Hope: OK. Do your best at work, Curse! Curse: Tonight, the will be empty because of work, but I will return tomorrow. At night close up securely. Hope: I know! Curse: Wear the thick overcoat mantle during the day. Eterno's noon sunlight is poison to the skin after all. Curse: You carelessly rush out without wearing the cloak, remember? It would be terrible if you burnt your skin. Curse: Ah, and then……. Hope: You don't have to say, I'll be okay. After all, I'm not a kid anymore! Curse: Oya. If you are an adult, I wonder if I'm an old person? Hope: ……uh-huh! You're always treating me like a child that way! Curse: Heheh. Curse: ……You are properly wearing the amulet necklace? Hope: Perfectly! I'm properly hiding it beneath my clothes. Hope: Since it's a charm Curse gave me, I'll never forget to wear it. Curse: That's good. That necklace will surely protect you even during my absence Hope: Yup! Hope: ……, but if you can, hurry back, ne. Hope: Lately, we haven't been together a lot because you've been nothing but working. Curse: Hope……. Hope: Ah! But I perfectly know that work is important! Curse: I see. Let's spend the whole day together when I return from work tomorrow. Hope: Really……!? Curse: Shall I cook, since it's been a while? Lately, I've always been asking you. Curse: Though, I'm always looking forward to it since your skill improved thoroughly. Hope: I want to eat Curse's Maqluba!!! The one with a lot of cumin and nutmeg put on the meat!!! (1) Curse: It will be a fest, please leave it to me. Curse: I'll prepare a lot of tales of my travels in advance. Therefore, I relying on you to watch the house tonight. Hope: Yeah! Got it! Hope: Take care, Curse. Curse: I'm off, Hope. I will certainly return.
Hope: But Curse didn't come back……. Fang: I see. So, you want to look for that person called Curse, huh? Fang: Is Curse your family? Hope: He is something like family. Since, even though he's not my real parent, he is the person who picked me up and raised me, who is a war orphan. Fang: So, it was like that, huh? Coda: That's disheartening. Since I lost both of my parents early as well, I understand the feeling of becoming solitary. Coda: I'm all right, though, because everyone from Burst Roar is there……. Hope: Coda……. Coda: Fang. ……no, Captain. Coda: Please, it's as you see. Won't you let this guy board our ship? Fang: ……! Hope: Coda! Coda: It seems like there are circumstances and he himself said earlier he would ship cleaning or anything, didn't he? Coda: Rather, the manpower is increasing. If anything, it's a good deal for us. Coda: Therefore, I'm asking you. Hope: ……! P-please!! Fang: ……heh. Fang: You're a good trader, Coda. Hope: ! Coda: Then……. Fang: I welcome you to Burst Roar, Hope. Whether it's going to be a pleasant journey, I don't know, the crew members are all fairly good guys. Fang: From here on, we plan to go around all stars. We'll surely find the person you're looking for as well. Hope: Th……, thank you very much! Coda: Isn't that good, Hope? Hope: Yeah……! Thank you as well, Coda! Coda: It's not a big deal. You helped me earlier, right? It's my thanks for that. Coda: ……so, don't look at me with such teary-eyed eyes! Hope: Coda~~!!! Coda: Stop it! Fang: Ahahahaha! Looks like you're getting along without delay. Fang: Well, as Hope says, there's that thing called fate. Let's guide you to the ship before long. Hope: Yes!! Coda: Eh, we're already leaving!? Fang: Our work on this star is finished after all. Strike while the iron is hot. (2) Coda: You're really abrupt! Look who's talking even though you leave all our essential business to me. Fang: All right! We're leaving for the next star! Coda: ……he didn't hear me, did he? Hope: Oh!! Coda: Good grief….
To continue….
(1) Maqluba is a traditional Palestinian dish served throughout the Levant. The dish includes meat, rice and fried vegetables placed in a pot, which is then flipped upside down when served. The name "Maqluba" literally translates as "upside-down". If I'm completely honest, from what is known about Eterno, Eterno does share some similarities with Palestine. The hot climate and avoidance of Eterno with its current seemingly war-torn state… or maybe that's just me. It could mean, though, that Eterno’s culture is based on Palestine’s *shrugs shoulders*
(2) Basically, he's saying to make use of an opportunity immediately. The literal translation would be "goodness/virtue hurries". "Strike while the iron is hot" is the English equivalent of that.
Also, I think I’m shipping HopeCoda/MomoIo now.

Demon Therapy
A short, probably dumb story I wrote for a prompt on Reddit. I thought perhaps you guys here would like it!
He'd been seeing the client for about three months now. A young girl named Sarah, she was going through the abrupt death of her mother. Her father was nervous and clearly traumatized himself, but he was devoted to her, and she'd never missed any of her weekly appointments since the incident, except for last week. There was no word from either of them about it, but that wasn't out of the realm of the ordinary.
Dr. William Herman Weber liked to think he was good at his job. He prided himself on being able to connect with the children he worked with, and having nearly all of them leave with a better mindset than they came in with. Sarah, too, was showing signs of improvement. He just hoped that today's session would help her even more.
"Dr. Weber? Sarah and her father are here to see you." His secretary poked around the door to his office. Speak of the devil.
He smiled warmly. "Thank you. Send her in."
His office was fairly large, with room enough for his desk, a couch, and a table positioned against the wall, which was a blessing with what happened next.
The enormous paw appeared first, almost as big as the door frame. It paused, then, through a process that William couldn't figure out, squeezed through and under it. Its face was like something out of nightmares, with bones protruding from every corner, like its face was just something hastily tacked onto its skull. He tried not to focus on it too much.
It saw down like an enormous dog. Sarah poked her head in just after.
"Hi, Doctor Weber! I brought my friend here today!" She paused, as though considering something. "I hope you don't mind!"
His mouth was agape. The creature met his gaze with a measured look.
"Really, if it's any trouble at all," the creature said anxiously. "I'm just along, because, um, I heard you were really good at your job, and..." he shifted his paws nervously. "Well, there's some things I wanted to talk to you about."
William managed to shut his mouth, but not yet to speak.
"He slipped a note under my closet door," Sarah continued. "He was too shy to ask me directly, isn't that cute?" Her face split into a grin. "But he wanted to come along, so here he is! His name is Akamothammar!"
"First of those taken in battle by the demonic hordes," Akamothammar commented, looking mildly embarrased. "It's really not that big of a deal."
"Not that big of a deal! Listen to this guy!" Sarah punched her companion on the arm, or leg. He barely seemed to notice. "Like he didn't sink Atlantis in the first of days!"
"Helped sink Atlantis," he clarified, but he looked pleased.
Words managed to come to William's mouth, although he didn't know how. "So," he said. "Well. I mean. It's not really protocol to see two patients at the same time-"
"Oh, it's ok!" Sarah said. "I can wait outside!"
"Sarah, no," Akamothammar said. "Really, it's OK. I don't want to cut into your time."
"I don't mind at all!" Sarah said. "Just for now, OK? How's that sound?"
The demon considered this, then inclined his head. "Yeah. OK. Just this once." He grinned, splitting his face mask like it was made of rotten wood. Before William's eyes, it reformed again, flesh re-knotting itself over exposed bone.
Sarah hugged him. "Good luck!" she said, and left.
William was alone with Akamothammar.
"Don't worry," Akamothammar said. "No one else can see me except for you two."
"Er," William said.
"Now," Akamothammar said. He looked apologetic. "I'm afraid I will have to eat you."
William stared.
The demon shrugged. "Sorry about that, really. You seem like a nice man. And Sarah seems like a nice girl. But I have to move on - Sarah just isn't afraid of the dark anymore. You've really done a stellar job. But I have to eat someone, else I'll go hungry, and I've gotten kind of fond of the girl and her dad, so I suppose it'll have to be you."
"Wait," William said in a strangled voice.
Akamothammar waited. "Hmm?" he asked, eminently polite.
"Are you sure there isn't anything you want to talk about? Anything about... your family, maybe?"
The demon was shaking his head, but stopped when he heard family. "Well," he said. "Uh. My mother was the deepest parts of the earth and my father was the darkness behind the stars, so I guess I never did get to see my parents much."
"And how does that make you feel?" William urged.
Akamothammar shook his head violently. "I know what you're trying to do," he snarled. "You're trying to trick me. Just like my sister tricked me into a cage for a thousand years-"
He paused. William seized on his chance. "Tell me about that!"
Akamothammar sighed. "You know, when you emerge from the same firmament as someone, you think you could trust them! But no! She never even said sorry!"
"That's horrible," William said. "Have you talked to her since?"
Akamothammar flopped down on the floor, causing the shingles above them to rattle. "You know, I haven't! I don't really want to, though. I don't want anything more to do with her."
"That's entirely fair," William said. "You don't owe anyone who treated you badly anything."
"I keep telling myself that," Akamothammar said. "But, you know, it hasn't really sunk in."
"Well, it's true. You deserve better."
Akamothammar sighed. "You know, Doctor Weber. I was really set on eating you today. Do you think it would be OK if I came in next week with Sarah to eat you? I'm really enjoying this session, and I think I shouldn't eat someone I'm feeling so positively disposed towards, you know?"
"I - I believe I do, yes."
"Good. Thank you, Doctor. I should get going, though. I'll send Sarah in. See you next week! Please try not to stress too much about it, it makes your meat chewy."
With that, the great beast disappeared in a cloud of smoke. William set the fan turning again.
He slumped down into his chair. Next week, he would die.
He supposed that now he would just have to get really, really good at demon therapy.

Is this legit? How is this not exploding right now?
It will. It’s 3 am on a Monday night, this will go ham tomorrow morn.
Just about midnight here in California (but this story won’t see the light of day here). Looking forward to seeing this get huge
the world is better because of people like you. think i’ve seen your username before too
I appreciate that, you as well. Keep on the righteous path
He’s a bot
wow, a feel good bot and you can’t even see “his” post history. Really strange shit.
Except here on Reddit. The liberal circle jerk will keep it out of the main subs.
It’s O’Keefe so media will ignore it “cause he’s a criminal and propagandist”.
OANN will be playing this at 11a.m. Eastern
One America News Network said they are going to show the tapes at 11a.m. eastern!
7 hours later and it’s been taken down
Maybe that’s how.
This guy has been popped before for editing videos in ways that change the message and it was really early in the morning. The other thing is that his guy works for CNN Health, but w.e.
in ways that change the message
Any examples? I hear this said but in context his videos have always seemed equally damning. Taking down ACORN put a target on his back during an adminstration known for prosecuting joirnalists and political enemies so saying “zomg community service” doesn’t cut it for me.
Any examples? I hear this said but in context his videos have always seemed equally damning. Taking down ACORN put a target on his back during an adminstration known for prosecuting joirnalists and political enemies so saying “zomg community service” doesn’t cut it for me.
Any examples? How about the one you named yourself. O’Keefe had to pay out $100,000 to one of the former ACORN employees after he handed over the entire unedited videos which the California AG reviewed and found, “no evidence of criminal conduct on the part of ACORN employees nor any evidence that any employee intended to aid or abet criminal conduct.”
He even admitted in that case that he was just trying to damage ACORN and wasn’t acting with any sort of journalistic objectivity.
His entire career is like that. He releases “damning” video evidence which when compared to the raw video prove to be heavily edited segments which misrepresent the stated views of the people he films by removing context or chronologically shifting the video to make it appear bad.
By comparison, O’Keefe makes media outlets like CNN and Fox with their horribly biased and non-journalistic practices look like absolute angels.
You’re acting like the one good employee ACORN had absolves the other horrible employees who willingly helped a supposed pimp who was prostituting out underage girls and never sought help from a child advocacy group let alone the police after the meeting. You’re doing some subterfuge yourself. If O’Keefe’s undercover vids on ACORN encouraged a reform and improved protocol on how employees react to pimps and who they should contact after, then it was worth it bc, apparently, most of the employees don’t have an idea of what is right or wrong, including when it involves pedophilia.
No wrongdoing was found to have occurred by ACORN when the full video came out. That was the findings of the California AG office and the federal Government Accountability Office.
Well, half true. The case in California was a terrible case and Okeefe should be ashamed for not following through on what the workers did after he left. But the Brooklyn DA reviewed the tapes that affected their region and found that although they were heavily edited, the most damning words were still very much in context.
There was 100% wrong doing found at ACORN. You’re a liar. There was no criminal wrong doing. As being an unethical asshole is not against the law. One of the employees caught on tape had gone to the police and had been leading on O’Keefe. There was no way for O’Keefe to know that; the rest of the employees did not. That employee sued him as they lost their job and were doing the right thing.
Which means the rest of them were actively giving advice for criminal conduct and had no intention of reporting it to the police.
Not really, the msm just do to okeefe what they did to center of medical progress. Throw around ‘deceptive edit’ and dont back it up when the full tapes are released.
What part is fake?
It’s a project veritas release. The people who keep getting busted for releasing edited and out of context videos. The odds of this being legit are approaching zero. Basically, nothing this guy releases is true. He literally generates the fake for fake news.
Can you back that up?
Please provide citations.
Mirror

Thank you, good sir.
I’m sure I’m the minority opinion here but project veritas has a history of editing video. I don’t think we should look too much into what they do until they release raw footage. When it cuts to the background images for the “because it’s ratings” part it sounds very different than the preceding lines. CNN does suck 99% of the time but that doesn’t mean any attack against it is credible.
All videos are edited. Every single one. This ‘deceptive edit’ crap falls apart when the full vidoes are released showing it in the same context.
Ok then let’s wait until the full video is released before making concrete judgments.
We do; and they are vindicated every time by those of us who bothered to watch them. Meanwhile useful idiots read an article from Salon that claims they watched the full videos and that the clips were deceptively edited. Releasing the full videos does not get the Democrats to shut up about “doctored” videos; as that is their only deflection of the deep seated corruption within their party and their political allies.
[removed]
Can you provide a context in which his comments would be seen as ok?
It’s a business, people are like “The media has like an ethical…” psssshhhhh…
But all the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school, you’re just like, that’s adorable. That’s adorable. This is a business
You honestly couldn’t make up a worse quote if you tried to. Holy shit.
The saddest part is his words wouldn’t be so damning if they weren’t so honest.
Probably the first time he does something honest, and it is going to backfire on him.
But muh context!
I’m sure they must have edited out a part at the beginning where the Project Veritas guy said “let’s play a game where I ask you questions and you make up fake answers that make CNN look as horrible as possible.” Or a part at the end where the CNN guy said “lol jk I really had you going there didn’t I?” Right guys??
HOW DARE HE ATTACK THE STELLAR REPORTERS OF CNN
DON LEMON IS ETHICS INCARNATE
ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A RACIST
So, politics aside. People stopped paying for real reporting and news. Combine the lack of interest in actual reporting, and the media mergers and newspaper buyouts, etc and you get this media environment. It rewards shock headlines and ‘fake news,’ because no one wanted to purchase journalism and even if they did, public trading of news companies means cost cutting and share holder profits are more important than news…. so what?
we have only one model that doesn’t get fucked by this and it is NPR. And NPR ain’t great, because government funding for it got cut years ago and the replacement ‘funding from ‘charitable foundations for agenda reporting,’ and listener donations sucks. So decent reporters bounce out of NPR ASAP and American suffers.
So the market is rewarding sensationalism, and firms are producing sensationalism?
Yes.
But this isn’t anything new. Sensationalist news has been a part of the human experience for centuries.
Media mongrel Hearst from the early 20th century made his fortune off of fake news. It was common in the 19th and early 20th century. Some what died down in the mid 20th century; and became dominant again at the end of the 20th century.
we have only one model that doesn’t get fucked by this and it is NPR.
NPR has a horrible liberal bias. They’ll pick a topic like ‘The benefits of abortion’ and then discuss the topic in a somewhat fair manner. But the bias was built into the topic and no amount of honest discussion can overcome that, especially when 90% of the people talking are liberals.
I really like this response, because I agree, but not exactly in the same way. Your response illustrates a particular problem: You think NPR has a liberal bias, because you are to the right of it. I think NPR has a centrist bias, because I’m to the left of it. Either way, we both think NPR doesn’t represent our views fairly and doesn’t ask questions in an objective way.
NPR leans left; though not as much as CNN. If you were going to give it a scale of -10 to 10 (positive 10 being extreme conservative):
MSNBC: -8
CNN: -4
NPR: -2/-3
Fox: 4
National Review: 8
So if you’re a typical reader of Salon or viewer of MSNBC and you have been duped into thinking you’re somewhat moderate; than you may think NPR is “towards” the center. But there is no doubt that it leans left.
Business Insider did a piece of news source bias a few years back. NPR is, as per their research, not close to centrist but leftist .
This is cool link, however it does not say what you say it does, it says the ‘Audience of NPR is more liberal.’ It makes no conclusions about the content.
As a regular NPR listener, I can assure you that they spend a wildly disproportionate amount of time pushing issues that are only important to a tiny minority of the population (surprise: that would be a varied number of far-left activist groups that send them press releases on the topic). In the particular example I’m thinking of, the cause represents something like 10% of a 5-10% minority in the U.S. I hear the same “news” and “personal interest” stories promoting that issue literally every day. The only things that ever change are the names of the people involved (and maybe one or two minor details). It’s the exact same political narrative, hammered over and over and over again. It is literally no longer newsworthy, yet I still hear it in their “news” coverage every day.
The thing is, I’m sure that NPR doesn’t even realize how disproportionately they’re covering the topic. It’s of particular interest to them and most of their audience because it reinforces their preexisting worldview biases…and the issue has been weaponized and is now being used to attack anyone on the “other” side of that issue.
The thing is that they make no bones about it being liberal, and they are at least good at disclosure. You hear how liberal they are every 15 minutes when the call out supporters.
They also have conservative guests on all the time. Congressmen, PR staff from think-tanks, candidates and staff. They come off as smart, engaged people just looking to make things better. Sure, most of the audience and all the staff think they’re wrong. But it’s opposition, not smears
If you just want to know what’s going on in the world, you could do a whole lot worse.
I stopped listening to NPR during the 2012 election. They would have a “panel” about a political topic. The Moderator would be a hard core democrat. Then he would have 3 panelists on. One who was extremely far left (socialist), one who was a hard core Democrat, and one who was moderate (who they called a Republican). The “Republican” threw Romney and Republicans under the bus on every topic and talked about how Republicans were extreme (the guy supposedly representing Right).
That panel would have been horrible enough had they had a real conservative on there who actually believed in Republican policies (as he would be out numbered 3:1); but the fact that they put up a strawman of a Republican on just so he could provide legitimacy to the program was down right infuriating. Fuck that network.
Thank you for being a voice of reason. The real shock of this video should be the realization that all our media is like this, not just CNN.
Thank you for not going directly to the T_D “fuck MSM, CNN, they’re out to get us”…
I may not agree with most of y’all on a lot of issues, but I do agree that there are loads of issues plagueing(sp?) this country. Media and journalism being pretty damn high up there. Especially the fact that it is a driving force if the polarization and partisanship of politics we have today.
I am a big fan of government funded stuff like NPR/PBS/etc, but the thing I am worried about just as you are is how can this be funded by the [insert political party] without them having undue influence over content and context that is out out…it’s a tough question with a probably even tougher solution.
Every group will deny and try to fight news and reporting that makes them look bad. It’s PR, I get it, but when that party is directly responsible for the funding of said programming, how can one prevent retaliation when they report on the actions (good or bad) of that party.
If liberals can post salon and mother jones articles 24/7 on r/politics, they’ll probably believe whatever CNN told them anyway.
My new favorite is holding the independent up as some holy bastion of new reporting. Its little more than a tabloid
And the Guardian
US liberals like to pretend that UK news outlets are never biased
I would argue that UK news outlets are more biased.
But they’re European. Theyre much smarter than us hillbilly Americans /s
I’m in complete agreement. There is a very scummy element is These English news outlets. Have a read about the phone hack scandals if you want a good laugh
just goes to show how morally bankrupt CNN and the rest of the MSM is.
Cable news, in general, is wet, hot garbage.
Print and other forms of news are just as bad though.
It’s literally all dogshit.
This project verita video is amazing though. Puts it all out right in display.
We have the best undercover journalists, don’t we folks?
Amazing? I thought it was over produced and repetitive. They showed the same lines six times in a row.
That’s project veritas for ya
Still good that this is out there but the editing is crap lol
If everything is bad, where do you get your information?
Consensus and time.
Most of the time, most of the news from all these different “partisan” outlets is actually identical. There’s not much difference in the handling of facts, only the angle or the narrative. So when you’re looking up a story that actually matters, read the same story from 8 different, competing, clashing outlets so that forming a narrative is impossible.
News outlets are dishonest, but they don’t usually fabricate. Their spin is more like a reality TV show being edited, inserting context, or removing relevant facts. Reading all the different edits at the same time quickly reveals what is craft, and what is real. Once you do that, you have the facts.
The news brings you the facts because that’s what you ask for. But that’s not really what people want. Their business model is about offering clarity, interpreting the facts into understandable storylines. They take a complicated, crowded, confusing world, and make it nice and neat. Demand is created for a product that has nothing to do with facts. If the news industry was a gas station, facts would be the gasoline, and narrative would be the snacks and drinks.
“The news” is an entertainment product. News junkies are not informed people, they are just entertainment addicts. If you want to be informed, you have to think like a journalist, not an addict.
e: TV news is especially bad because of the medium. TV is slow, information-light, and non-interactive. Good for interviews and speeches, little else.
At the end of the day, this is what happens if you leave journalism to the free market. State sponsored news would be infinitely worse, of course, but this video is a perfect example of what happens when you try and make informing people a business.
I only trust news that doesn’t use click bait titles, doesn’t use dramatic language, and moves on to something else once the segment is over. That pretty much leaves pbs.
The current media situation is a direct result of the elimination of the fairness doctrine by Reagan, and especially the Telecommunications act of 1996 courtesy of Clinton. It’s astoundingly difficult to get a straight true version of almost any news event these days.
I know what you are trying to say, but I would actually argue it is easier.
With the internet and the democratization of information, it is not that difficult to get actual hard facts and even read spin from all sides and form your own opinion.
I think most people are just either lazy, don’t care, or want to read something from their perspective. With your take, it seems the only logical solution would be some state intervention or some new law, which would not be good.
That is a lot of trust in people. Most people just use the internet to find the “facts” to back their pre-conceived belief and stop there.
Its how we’ve ended up in/with huge echo chambers as the divide in the country grows and grows.
While I don’t necessarily disagree with your statement, and don’t trust people, I just think the vast majority don’t care.
Actually most people don’t give a shit about politics like us, and they shouldn’t. It is difficult to see that when you are passionate about it and caught up in discussion and the news everyday.
I don’t really give a shit about politics either. I just like being well-informed. That means being informed about the shell game that is modern American politics.
I sort of disagree about the internet part. I think the internet contributes to the problem because it allows people with zero critical thinking skills access to reams of truly fake news that they aren’t equipped to deal with. I recall a few months ago my Facebook feed lit up with stories posted by my more conservative friends and relatives about how Clinton was under indictment, and had fled the country in a private jet with the FBI hot on her heels. Then there was the whole pizzagate thing that ended with a guy barging into a pizza restaurant with a gun looking for a nonexistent basement full of pedophilia victims. I don’t know what the solution to all this is because regulating the internet in any way that would alleviate the problem would have massive negative consequences, and would most likely be unconstitutional to boot.
I understand your point, and it is made by many, if not most.
I just completely disagree, and believe you, and others, are blowing it out of proportion. One, I understand many people get their “news” from facebook, but it is not a news source. Rarely are people actually reading the articles posted, just the headlines and others’ opinions and then arguing in the comment section. It is more of an activity than just getting the news.
And ok people are dumb and lazy, but still, the majority of Americans, as they should be, are politically apathetic and actually don’t care about any of this shit. They just want their cute cat videos and memes, go to their jobs pay for their shit and pursue their own happiness. It is tough to see that when you are passionate about politics and see the craziness going on, as am I, but it is true.
And pizzagate was a fringe conspiracy, not believed by many, and I understand that more were open to it being true, but only a very small amount actually actively believed in it. And, overtime, the community who did actively believed in it shrunk, and I believe that is a direct result of continuous research and discussion on the open internet. That guy who went to the pizza parlor clearly was crazy and has some other issues, and was he motivated or spurred by this small fringe conspiracy community? Yes, probably, but again, it was very, very small. I am more concerned about main stream news outlets and the left openly saying the GOP is going to kill people and all republicans are Nazis, which is all accepted and mainstream, and if true, I mean somewhat justifies violence, if they are all Nazis and going to kill people?
So, you speak of trying to find a solution to something that is not really a problem. That is just what scares me, the left and right do that all the time. Err on the side of not making laws or regulations or “solutions”, freedom and the market takes care of it. The internet is much more of solution than contributing to a small problem. That form of thinking, even from a conservative point of view, only leads down the road to regulation and control, and less freedom.
I’d agree with you if I didn’t see people I regarded as reasonable and intelligent falling for this crap on a daily basis. I’ll also reiterate that I’m in no way advocating for more internet regulation, but I don’t buy the free market will fix things argument either. The free market follows profits, and telling people what they want to hear will always be more profitable, than telling simple truth.
Yes, the internet gives critical-thinkers the power to consume a ton of reports and form their own opinions, but most people aren’t doing this. Most people don’t use the internet for investigative or comparative journalism. Most people get their “news” from their television or radio broadcast of choice.
We don’t need new laws to regulate what can and cannot be reported. We don’t need a government agency picking winners and losers by controlling funding or airtime. We need some goddamn leadership. We need a president or other high-visibility leader who can be trusted, who has proven integrity, and who communicates with “both sides” to speak to the importance of holding journalists and media networks accountable.
We need the press to keep the government in check, but we need to keep the press in check. “We”, on average, don’t give a shit, so it’s hard to see this starting with us. The corporate click-bait press isn’t likely to usher a true leader into the White House, and the people there now sure as hell aren’t going to change their tune to their own detriment, so I don’t know how we get here. Sad.
“fairness doctrine” has nothing to do with this. It was a ploy to force radios to give liberal commentators shows that no one would listen to and they would lose money on.
Don’t forget that public trading of media companies means they are beholden to share holders, rather than accountable to the general public for the quality of their journalism.
hiding under the guise of the first amendment to publish stories like this is where it should be wrong, the first amendment shouldn’t protect news agencies from publishing false claims as the effect on public perception could be disastrous to the republic as we have seen this past year. It should be treated as yelling fire in a movie theater
It is absolutely amazing how deluded and ignorant the people over at r/politics can be.
This same video was posted there, and rather than be concerned about a CNN producer laughing at the idea of ‘ethics’ in their reporting, they instead claim that Okeefe only makes fake news. They are burying their heads so far in the sand that they will deny video and audio evidence, that couldn’t possibly be taken out of context, and merely attack the source. (not to mention that their favorite video against Trump, the Billy Bush grab-em-by-the-pussy video, is exactly the same type of video.)
Its the easiest way of dismissing evidence out of had without actually having to look at it.
Exactly why reddit is terrible, you can hide posts you don’t like and popular opinions go to the top.
I mean it’s good for sports and stuff, but terrible for anything opinion-formed.
They are burying their heads so far in the sand
Oh, they’re burying their heads all right, just not in sand.
Why all of the jump cuts? Veritas just opens themselves to all of this criticism. Show us the unedited video from beginning to end if it’s so damning. I will never trust a veritas video that’s not one unedited stream of content. They’ve burned bridges too many times before this to demand any less.
Have you ever watched a single investagative report in your life? All are jump cut because because there can be hours of filler between points. Do you really want to waste your time watching them order hot wings and excusing themselves for a shit?
They could make 2 versions available…
Tell you what. I’ll take 5 minute clips. Not 15-20 seconds. That make you happy?
O’Keefe released hours of raw footage for the Planned Parenthood release; and the useful idiots still ignored them. Essentially reddit was full of leftist saying “Well I read Salon; and they watched the full video and they said the clips were deceptively edited. So clearly they were doctored.”
Hopefully O’Keefe releases the raw video
[removed]
PP does actually sell fetal organs though… totaling on avg. $2-3k for all the organs sold in 1 fetus. This is not some conspiracy theory either. There are published receipts and invoices from organ/tissue repository companies ordering these fetal organs directly from PP to then sell to biotech or academic centers.
Shipping tissues is expensive, they aren’t dumping a fetus’s liver into a leftover Amazon Prime box and sending it on 1-week USPS. It involves very expensive refrigeration packages, fast shipping, and so on.
It’s so morally despicable that they’re giving the tissues to science. We should be cremating and burying the 5-gram clump of cells instead.
So because there were “jump cuts” AKA getting to the point because people don’t have time to watch hours long videos, the entire video is fake?
Shouldn’t stop them from releasing the unedited video on the side, just to verify
They did the same thing with the planned parenthood stuff but people still dismissed it because of “dishonest editing” even though the full version showed the same. People just want to ignore whatever goes against their narrative.
Pretty sure all people do this.
The unedited video is likely 100s of hours long and wouldn’t be able to be uploaded as anything other than a .torrent efficiently.
No, but it certainly raises questions about the veracity of the reporting. Isn’t that what people are demanding these days? If something looks sketchy, call it out. Or is that only trotted out when the news goes against one’s own narrative?
the jump cuts are because this is a secretly taped conversation only loosely connected to the topic it is being presented as connected to. You have to remove context in order to present this in a way that gets the message out that the messenger wanted.
They admitted to clickbait and we’re saying it means conclusively there’s nothing real with Russia. It’s understandable since that’s a giant leap.
The same applies to Fox News as well. 24 hour cable news stations are all in it for the ratings and appealing to their base.
Two-sides of the same coin.
Cognitive dissonance
They said the same thing about the abortion videos that they were actually a setup, or maybe factually, a couple of scenes were taken out of context. Even if they were, that doesn’t dismiss the entirety of the content
You mean like how planned parenthood sells baby parts and the DNC was literally ripping up ballots? Sure seems legit.
Wait, are you actually denying that PP sells fetal organs to tissue repository companies? Bc there are actual invoices and receipts showing that these companies purchase fetal organs from PP to then resell to biotech and academic centers. The Congressional report is pretty black and white.
For profit? Yes. Which is what the video was trying to prove.
It wasn’t attempting to prove. It was showings there was probable cause for a criminal investigation. At worse they violated U.S. law, at best they were unethical ass clowns talking callously about a very sensitive subject. Either way it showed a deeply troubling culture at the heart of Planned Parenthood; and the left couldn’t allow that to be viewed by many.
You mean like how the representive from the medical research firm flat out said they were buying body parts? Is that what you’re talking about? Did you watch the unedited film that showed the exact same thing or are you falling for the ‘deceptive edit’ bs.
How about the several investigations afterwards that found no such thing is happening, and a grand jury actually indicting the people who made the video? https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/26/us/2-abortion-foes-behind-planned-parenthood-videos-are-indicted.html
Charges were dropped. Update your links.
indicting the people who made the video?
The charges on them keep getting dropped and chamged
Those indictments have all been thrown out. The state AG has been shown to collude with PP to bring those charges
Liberal judges, obviously, government conspiracy to get in on that sweet sweet fetal organ market.
Based on this sub, I have to assume you aren’t being sarcastic, in which case I’m sorry you actually think that way.
I am. People taking Project Veritas as a serious source while condemning CNN is hilarious – CNN’s pretty shit, but not literally-charged-with-a-crime unethical.
Thank God for the sarcasm. And of course, the subs this is exploding on are r/conservative, r/uncensorednews, and r/conspiracy (Would assume T_D but have them filtered out. I’m fine seeing the occasional post from these subs to know their take, but that floods the feed a bit much).
[removed]
Ad Hominem attacks are the only way liberals know how to discuss things.
They are burying their heads so far in the sand that they will deny video and audio evidence
Exactly why the Dems will permanently push undecided voters to the right and continue to lose elections.
The media is not the enemy of the American people!
-The Media
r/politics moderators are removing these videos.
Here is r/politics labeling this as an “Unacceptable Source”.
Here is a working mirror to the video.
R/politics cant stand the truth
They’re awfully militant.
Reddit moderators on r/politics and r/news are typical leftists. They try to control free speech. They give an insight into what this country would be like if the left ever got control.
I take it this won’t be on r/news
Very fake news.
This is Wikileaks style, and it’s only part one
Someone make more popcorn
Well I just finished a bowl, but I can make some more if you’d like. Pop Secret Extra Butter, sprinkled with garlic salt and black/cayenne pepper ok with you?
Drowned in liberal tears I hope?
Where do you think the garlic salt comes from? Sometimes there’s even a hint of patchouli (from the hippies).
Trump is considering escalating our presence in Syria. The Senate is considering huge changes to health care. The Supreme Court just issued a bunch of interesting opinions, including one where Justice Kagan broke with the liberal justices to support a church.
CNN: lol, let’s just continue reporting the witch hunt.
This actually made me laugh. So many other legit angles they could’ve gone with vs Trump but nope. RUSSIA.
I think the REAL scandal here for the left is that a CNN producer was filmed enjoying some Chick-fil-A.
I’m not a conservative, but I’m glad this is coming out. When the media tries to whip people into a frenzy against each other, everyone loses.
Edit: Video source has a history of manipulation for conservative agenda, add grain of salt, remain skeptical of media corporations. Based on post history, /u/MiyegomboBayartsogt may be Russian propaganda shill.
Not everyone loses. Trump wins. Americans willing to work win. The people whipped into hysterical frenzy are losing it, but those indolent bed pressing citizens aren’t doing anything productive anyhow. Getting those types out in the street to pout and protest is probably the first exercise any of them have had in a long while.
You think hard-working people aren’t negatively impacted by shitty media?
So long as deep pockets and corrupt politicians can use the media with impunity to manipulate the electorate, the country is fucked. Sure, you and I might have jobs, but I’d rather strive for the quality of life under a less-corrupt regime than what exists today. Politicians actively use the media to divide the population, which distracts from actually governing the country and solving the problems millions of people have. It’s all about winning, not governing, which means American democracy is just a fucking sham…at least third-world dictators are honest about what they want.
in a normal just world, this would be in /r/all by now. Sadly, those that manages the algorithm is going to keep this from going to /r/all to reduce the red pilling as much as possible.
Two instances of it are right now, including this one. You probably won’t like the top comments on the one much higher up, though.
Wow I forgot about project Veritas. It’s oddly relieving to see them doing their thing without the stresses of the election season. It feels like I can sit back and relax and watch the dumpster fire that is the left.
Between the Russia narrative finally cracking, the democrats starting to eat each other, the Supreme Court ruling and now this, I am chuckling to myself at how right trump was. I really can’t handle this much winning in such a short amount of time. I need time to digest this much positive news. Can’t imagine how die hard liberals must feel.
Trump gambled absolutely everything – all his credibility, his political capital, his entire presidency – in a show down with the media.
Conservatives have been too chicken shit to do this for years, despite the fact we all know the media is mostly leftist propaganda. Trump came along and said, “Yeah, I’ll prove it,” and it’s working. It’s bloody well working. I am shocked how well he has flipped what looked like a hopeless narrative.
The media has lost its credibility. The deep state has been exposed to the disinfecting sun light. The Democrats have been so focused on chasing laser pointers like cats that they haven’t taken a moment to reflect on why they lost.
The Clintons are getting exposed as the snakes they are, and the whole Obama administration is taking a hit retroactively.
This is incredible. And we still might get another 2 Supremes.
tl;dr: Trump decided not to be the classic, well-trained house pet for the left. Is kicking ass. Who woulda thought?
Except the left still won’t see it that way. Still work to be done
The core of the left will never see it that way. We can only hope that a solid majority of the people will see how deluded the left is.
At least 25% of the population is irredeemable, it’s just a fact
deplorables?
No, just delusional leftists who would riot before accepting the rule of law.
Because you asked… I feel very little. There wasn’t anything in the video I didn’t already sort of know. It’s painfully obvious CNN has been hyping the hell out of this story with little to no new useful information. BUT, It doesn’t indicate at all however, that the Russia story is fake, just that CNN, like ALL cable news, is about selling a narrative their audience wants to hear, because ratings are king. I’d prefer CNN devote their time to reporting on the Nepotism, Cronyism, and incompetence of this administration, and shut the hell up about Russia until there is something to report.
CNN devote their time to reporting on the Nepotism, Cronyism, and incompetence of this administration
So stop the hysteria of a made up narrative to pick it up on a different made up narrative? Come on..
Appointing your untrained son in law to bring peace to the Middle East doesn’t smell a little like nepotism to you? You think there is no one more qualified in foreign diplomacy to tackle this task?
He should respond soon. Probably had to look up what nepotism means and is now digging through breitbart articles for an argument to regurgitate.
I feel like a lot of the things he said can be applied not only to CNN but Fox News and all cable news. Just with different agenda.
And BOOM! Just like that, CNN credibility destroyed.
To be fair, they didnt have any to begin with.
[removed]
Did you not hear “mostly bullshit” and “do it just for ratings”? This is called lying when you print false stories. The lies that were printed out a few days ago by CNN got 3 people fired.
CNN is a partisan hack of an organization that acts like it’s the Pravda arm of the DNC.
This concern trolling would not be happening if say, Fox News were caught in this kind of scheming.
Can you quote where the reporter said the leaks are bullshit?
The dude said the Trump –> Russia headlines are bullshit, not that the Trump’s Team –> Russia headline are bullshit. He also justified Russia trying to swing our election, which isn’t exactly a denial of them doing it.
Without fake news and unfounded conspiracies, Rachel Maddow will be selling oranges on the highway
This is going to be spun as out-of-context quotes that are intentionally edited to sound as a bad as possible and there really isn’t any scandal here.
The man just straight up laughed at the notion of journalistic ethics. It looks pretty bad.
He was taken out of context!!! Maybe he was reading from a play script about a jaded and corrupt Fox News journalist. /s
I think you just scored a job at CNN.
I’m just going to go by the fact I’m seeing literally dozens of newish accounts and accounts that’ve never posted in many of the subreddits this story is being posted in trying to deflect and dispute the entire video as a sign that it’s a pretty big deal for CNN right now. Seriously, I’ve never seen this much damage control on all of Reddit. Even this thread is at 58% upvoted since it hit r/all. They are panicking trying to bury this one.
I’ve noticed for months now. They like to infect subs like r/uncensorednews and other alternative subreddits that were created to get away from the shills and astroturfing.
The #1 tactic of these people is to derail conversations and change the topic.
And yet the hardcore Reddit Lefties are still pushing the Russia story. Love it and hate it at the same time. Makes them look incredibly foolish, but in the end hurts America with their ignorance.
Number 1 Trending Video on YouTube right now and it hasn’t even been a day. Of course r/politics is silent. Here’s a comment from there.
Once again, this story is already debunked & confirmed as fake. This was a low-level associate intern who decided to spew bullshit about something he has no idea about. He’s not even working directly on the Russia team. CNN has been absolutely stellar as of late and this retraction just cements that they are an elite organization that goes the extra mile to fact check and verify their sources. Couldn’t be more pleased with the stellar work CNN has been putting out lately
It’s amazing to think that these people believe the media has any reason to have any sort of journalistic integrity. Its a business. I remember during Bernie’s campaign there was a post at the top of r/all about how Clinton was funded by CNN. But now that CNN aligns with their agenda they trust them. Unbelievable.
59% upvoted, LMAOOOO

1) CNN, Fox News, etc. are all stupid ratings-chasing bullshit. Anyone who doesn’t see that by now isn’t paying attention. It’s been getting worse and worse throughout my life – haven’t really watched any MSM in years, but I’m guessing it’s all pretty abhorrent by now.
2) I don’t really care if news outlets secretly think a story is bullshit or not – but I do care what the FBI thinks. They thought there was enough to warrant an investigation. And now the story has become more about impeding that investigation.
As soon as I saw this video I knew the thread would be brigaded
Damning quotes aside, the most interesting takeaway is how much day to day control Jeff Zucker has over the narrative.
The video was removed
I’m a pretty leftist dude but I think we all have known CNN lost credibility during the election cycle with how they put Clinton on a pedestal.
I mean we all knew it, but this is still one of the most sickening things I have ever seen and still shocking even when you know news is all staged and money driven for agendas. The worst part for me was when he only laughs at the idea of journalistic ethics…
Wow that guy’s gonna get suicided by 4 bullets to the back of the head
Damn this is exciting
R/news is in some hard denial.
CNN isn’t just fake news. They are very fake news. And apparently proud of it. I wonder how the kiddies in r/politics will try and spin this. I mean, he literally says they don’t care about ethics in journalism. It’s kinda hard to spin that.
Edit- oh. They won’t spin it. They will just ignore it apparently. Neato
Edit again- Hi shareblue! Thanks for stopping by to downvote us.
While I must admit I am generally liberal, even I have to say all the Trump-Russia collusion stories are getting old to see. Do I think some of the things that are reported, and some of Trump’s own actions and statements seem a little sketchy? Sure. But ultimately, that’s why there is currently some sort of investigation going on. I don’t need to hear about it every day because at this point there really isn’t too much more to report, and to be honest it just takes away from actually debating the policies that are being put out, especially health care currently. If something comes up in the future from this investigation or otherwise, sure let’s bring it up again and discuss it, but unless/until something like that occurs I would rather see more talk about policies.
While I must admit I am generally liberal, even I have to say all the Trump-Russia collusion stories are getting old to see.
This is the statement that should have the Democrats scared shitless.
It’s also why they’ve been trying to pivot away from the Russian witch hunt but they’re having trouble getting their people to stop. The base is convinced Trump is a traitor and won’t let up.
because they convinced them, what a vicious web we weave….
All of our intelligence says that Russia interfered and Trump says he fired Comey to slow/stop the Russia investigation, it’s not exactly all CNNs fault.
The country should be scared shitless, not just dems.
He fired comey because comey wouldnt hold a presser saying trump wasnt under investigation. Which is true and what comey told him on three diffrent occasions.
Was it dumb? Sure.
Was it interference with the russia investigation? Not even a little bit.
Share exact sentiment.
The worst part to me is how much a lot of the media alienates people, and how much I feel that extends into the everyday political discussion. You see it on all sides. I see it all the time when people call people on the left “libtards” or “snowflakes” and people on the left respond calling people on the right “Nazis” and “bigots” and “racists” and all it does it take away from substantive conversation and instead ignore any possible points that the other side may have because they are from the other side so let’s just call them names instead of actually refute arguments or points they have made.
you are a great, great great person
Concern trolls out in full force tonight.
What really blows me away is how divided along political lines so many people are. If you are 100 percent Democrat or 100 percent Republican on issues as far as the party line goes, you are also 100 percent moron. Every issue deserves discussion. There is nuance in politics which is why most congressmen go to law school.
If anything, this should be a wakeup call to everyone about their favorite news channels.
BREAKING NEWS::::: they’re all this way. They need money to make money. Fox, CNN, Breitbart, Inforwars, all of it is for-profit. They create sensationalized headlines that their viewers care about for some reason, and that’s how you keep eyes on the tube. It’s all despicable, but not surprising.
This is huge. Can’t wait to hear the official ShareBlue narrative on this one.
No mention of this on /r/politics. Head, meet sand.
I CAN’T HANDLE ALL THIS WINNING!!

Trends for a Fabulous LGBTQ Gay Wedding
Winter brings with it the joys of holidays, the woes of weather and the abundance of lists: bests and worsts and, of course, trends for LGBTQ and gay weddings.
The team at Invitations by R Squared loves love, and – oh, boy – do we love weddings. All weddings. And we’re positively obsessed with LGBTQ and gay wedding trends. We also want to make sure the you men are kept abreast of all that 2017 will offer by way of gay wedding style trends.
So, to that end, we will begin with a collection of fabulous gay wedding trends! We love these, and we think you will, too!
Colors – The fine folks over at Pantone have declared this year, the year of Greenery. In concert with Hazelnut, with a pop of contrast, Greenery can be the star color at your gay wedding. The entire palette for 2017 is just stunning. We’re also big fans of the primrose yellow and the lapis blue combination. Perhaps for a fabulous beach destination gay wedding! Take a look at the palette right here.
Cake – Ok. We’ll admit it. We love all the sweet treats that show up at weddings. This year, couples are fairly well done with cupcakes and doughnuts, pies and cookie bars. 2017 is going to be all about the tiered cake. Whether you choose a classic buttercream confection, a fruited naked cake, or a fondant draped, watercolor dream, tiered is now fresh and new in the wedding world. You can find good information on this over here.
One super-hot trend we’re hearing a lot about is the gay “wedding lounge.”
This so works if you’re going for a vintage, Gatsby, or Old Hollywood vibe. Some signature cocktails, some cushy things to sit on for the grooms and guests … Perfection!
In gay wedding florals, we’ll be seeing lots of greenery, and romance. Think white peonies, hot pink gerbera daisies and muted sage. Soft petal blooms are simply the most romantic of the flowers. Included in this group are roses, ranunculus, and dahlias. The color range for most of these flowers is fantastic!
A groom recently asked us about photography trends, and did we notice that it was a “thing?”
You bet it is!
The photo booth has been popular for a while, but technology has advanced to bring us slow motion, specialized files, filters, and flipbook features, that can be sent directly to your mobile devices in seconds for sharing in the moment!
Fall. As in the season.
Grooms and other couples are flocking to this season for the many perks it offers. One is the weather. Fall offers you a break from the summer humidity where you drip in your tux. It’s also before winter which can be a bit too cold for some and comes with notorious weather related travel delays for your guests.
Fall is also not nearly as rainy as summer in some parts of the world, so if you’re in an area that isn’t too cold, you can save on that Plan B Tent with a better guarantee for the outdoors.
And speaking of outdoors,
the color palette that mother nature serves during fall can be breathtaking.
The backdrop for your portraits can be the beautiful change in leaves. Let the autumn inspiration come to live in what’s served on the table rather than what’s decorating the room.
This time of year yearns for treating your guests to fire pits with smores stations, besides that incredible tiered cake, indulgent ciders, and all the rich pumpkin and butternut squash you might want incorporated into your menu. However, too many pinecones and pumpkins can quickly turn a farm table into something fit for pilgrims.
Don’t be afraid of using some elements of the Pantone 2017 color palette and letting mother nature smile at you in the background.
Fall can also be peak tourist season for certain parts of the country, or world – if you’re looking at a destination gay wedding, so be conscious about abnormal traffic related to wineries, estates, and other nearby locations of interest.
There are also many holidays in the fall to be aware of. The Jewish High Holidays can be a conflict for your guests of that faith, and many venues will be decorated the entirety of October for Halloween. Be sure to investigate so you’re not surprised if the hotel lobby is draped in cobwebs and spiders!
The team looked and looked, and we were not able to find out what’s up with the heterosexual wedding ritual of tossing the bouquet and garter. Singling out the single people, and tossing flowers and lace at them? We’re still not sure where it came from.
What we do completely get is the sentiment behind the tradition: wanting your friends to experience the love you’ve just celebrated finding with your husband.
For those grooms who want to include this ritual in their ceremony, what are these two bouquet-and-garter-less grooms to do when it comes time for the toss at their gay wedding?
We found these ideas:
Fashion your own sort of bouquet and garter by attaching your boutonnieres to each other and then tying your pocket squares together. You’ll probably need to weight the silk squares with a handful of rice or something like that.
Another approach to creating a new couple from among your guests is to affix a note from you and your husband with your wishes for a loving and lasting relationship. Have the caterers hide the notes under the dinner plates or under the dining chairs. Two lucky people will be the recipients of your well-wishes and beyond that? Who knows.
If you and your husband have a wicked sense of humor, why not just get a bouquet and a garter and toss them as couples have done forever and a day?! Men are known to wear a garter every now and then!
We have lots more to tell, but we’re running out of space here. Please check out the other entries in this blog, and – of course – the shop. We’ve got a pile of ideas over here, at Pinterest. The team has put together some stellar image collections to help keep your creativity at its peak.
Ready to start? Chosen a location, venue and date?
It’s time for gay wedding invitations and the other elements of your wedding stationery suite! Fran is ready to speak with you. Just get in touch and let’s chat!
We’re so thrilled you stopped by today, and we just know your wedding is going to be the best day ever!

Ad Hominem attacks are the only way liberals know how to discuss things.
They are burying their heads so far in the sand that they will deny video and audio evidence
Exactly why the Dems will permanently push undecided voters to the right and continue to lose elections.
The media is not the enemy of the American people!

r/politics moderators are removing these videos.
