i am an adult, and my birthdate is november 15th :-)

i want to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner and give high quality diagnosis and care to fellow mentally ill people. i want to do this because i work to learn the deeper mechanics of certain conditions (autism, personality disorders.), so i can treat them more effectively than a neurotypical could.

Ino’s role in the Children’s Mental Health Clinic from Sakura Hiden, as well as Kakashi’s and Tsunade’s

The evidence presented in this post have been checked and revised. My aim is to not hate or to discredit any of the characters mentioned. Please read about me for further information. 

The translation I used is this one and translated by Jocelyne Allen. This is the official translation of the novel published by Jump J Books and edited by VIZ Media: SJ Fiction on May 3rd, 2016.

This informative post will show why Ino and Sakura did not open the therapy center together. It was Sakura only. I will use information present in the novels or the Boruto anime only if it includes character development within canon compliance.

I give my permission to use or share this thread with informative purposes as long as you credit me.

I will not count the anime in this list because I consider it over exaggerated and beyond biased. Furthermore, these fillers include some actions that these characters are unable to do in the canon according to official sources. These fillers also generate unnecessary debate. I do not support the anime or the work of Studio Pierrot in regards to Naruto.

Please, take this into consideration.

Around six months after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Sakura Haruno proposed the idea to open a branch within the Konoha Hospital to treat children.

•  In chapter 1 (p.20), Sakura and her best friend, Ino Yamanaka, leave a conference inside Konoha Hospital.

This conference about the development of the clinic within a year and about policies and plans.

In page 21, it is mentioned that Sakura came up with the idea of the Clinic. 

"...Sakura proposed to the upper ranks the creation of a department [...] specializing in the care of children's hearts and minds".

Sakura had been treating the wounded after the War ended.

However, even if children did not directly participate in the War, many lost their parents and were mentally scared due to its consequences.

So, after thinking thoroughly of this detail, she starts investigating about the possible scars the War could have had in children in page 22. 

She comes empty handed about physical damage done to them. However, this doesn’t stop her. 

She turns to her teacher, Tsunade Senju, about the idea she had come up with. 

Tsunade agrees with it and supports the idea: 

“I think it's a good idea. [...] Take the lead on this, Sakura, and move forward with it”. 

Here we see that it is, indeed, Sakura, the one who leads this plan. She has Tsunade supporting her from the very start. 

Then Ino Yamanaka is mentioned. 

Here it is stated that once Sakura had sorted out everything, Ino helped her in the process.

She supported her and assisted her, all of this is referenced later in the novel.

Sakura has too much to do on her own. Ino comments on this specifically. 

Then, the clarification comes in the following paragraph:

"With Ino's help... Sakura managed to open the children's therapy center".

The previous extract is what confirms that Sakura is the lead.

Ino helped with bureaucracy. But she is not credited in the foundation of the Clinic.

“They soon started to see steady and strong results".

Ino helps Sakura throughout the tedious process of the foundation of the Clinic.

  “It’s all because of your help, Ino. Thanks.”

Ino is credited in the bureaucracy department. It is said and implied that she help with paperwork. But she is NOT the Co-founder/Co-director of the clinic.

Ino helped more as Sakura’s assistant and support. When Sakura had laid the groundwork, Ino helped her.

• In chapter 1 (p. 24), there are more evidences about Sakura being the promoter from Kakashi Hatake, the current Hokage of Konohagakure.

“Sakura, Suna's... ready whenever we are”. 

This extract displays that Kakashi is also supporting her idea. As saying “we” he shows is totally committed in this project as the village's leader.

She offers Sakura to go to Sunagakure and get the details about the upcoming opening from the medics there.

Ino helped Sakura with her project. It is only fair that she goes as well.

• In chapter 1 (p. 29), Sakura and her master meet in a restaurant to say goodbye before her departure.

The narrative confirms that Tsunade pushed Sakura to carry out her idea:

It is also mentioned that she just founded it, but she does NOT work there.

It is unknown if she holds the title of Head or Director. Thus, her position in that hierarchy is unknown. 

However, the Boruto anime confirms that Sakura eventually became the Head of the Konoha Hospital.

The Clinic is a branch within the Konoha Hospital, so Sakura holds the title as Director and Founder.

This debunks a statement highly misunderstood by Ino’s fans:

Ino does NOT work in this Clinic.

In the first place, Ino is a medic-ninja for battle. She is not a doctor/medic as a profession.

Because of this, it is impossible for her to practice as a medic/doctor.

I want to point out that Sakura, a professional medic/doctor, does NOT work in this Clinic either.

"The ones actually working with the children are specialists".

• In chapter 2 (p. 51), now in Sunagakure, Sakura leads the conference about the Clinic she opened in Konoha:

She is nervous to speak in front of a large audience. Ino steps in from time to time to offer additional information, she provided support throughout Sakura’s speech.

This is Sakura's Clinic and, so, she leads.

• In chapter 3 (p.61), we get more confirmations about Sakura and her project from Kakashi:

“Haruno Sakura proposed and launched the children's therapy center".

Kakashi, as the Hokage, is the person that presents this project to the village's higher-ups and supports it by creating a budget plan.

Koharu asks for Sakura to get more information from her directly.

"[Sakura] wanted to... exchange ideas with them".

Sakura wants to know the details about the project from Sunagakure.

Once more, Ino goes with her, as mentioned earlier, for support.

However, there is something important about Tsunade that might explain why she is not more directly involved in the project.

• In chapter 4 (p. 94), Tsunade and Sakura meet again to talk about DNA stemmed from the problem of Sasuke’s alleged clone and the chakra cloak. 

This could imply why Tsunade did not have a more active part in Sakura’s project or why she does not stand by her supporting her directly, knowing that it was the Sannin the person who pushed her student and knowing that she is a medic as well.

However, this is just a thought. 

Ino fills her role wonderfully as Sakura’s best friend.

• In chapter 8 (p.173), Kakashi reminisces about Kido's situation as a child: 

He is explicitly involved in the project.

Later. in the same page, Sakura says to Ino and Sai: 

“We”.

Tsunade as her mentor, Kakashi as her sensei and Hokage and Ino as the person who stood with her and helped her with paperwork.

She came up with the idea and had 3 people supporting her back.

Right after, a group of medics approach the group in the next page (p. 174):

The medic approach the group but they intent to speak with Sakura, the leader of the project.

“I’ll come too?”.

Ino, once again, offers her help with the matter. But Sakura refuses. 

End.

This is all evidences that say Sakura is indeed the only creator of the Clinic and rights are reserved to her and her name. She had 3 people supporting her, not only Ino, but Tsunade and Kakashi as well. The only difference is that Ino went to all the meetings and assisted with the paperwork. The novel deliberately says that “Sakura opened the Clinic” or “Sakura managed to open the Clinic”.

As for Sakura’s role, I have seen people saying she dismissed the project because she doesn't work there, as well as others saying Ino works there because she specializes in mind techniques. This is completely false. I can’t see Ino fixing children’s problems by entering their minds and giving them a talk. Ino never got any development as a medic or a doctor, she is a medic-nin, for platoons, but not a doctor as a proffesion and she's not qualified to work as one.

The manga doesn’t place Ino as a medic in proffesion in the Konoha hierarchy because she already covers her own role as a sensor. 

Furthermore, I don't see how she would specialize as a psychologist or psychiatrist, considering she transfers minds, to generalize the concept. Sakura doesn't seem to work directly in the clinic, but she is the founder and director.

Besides, I don’t understand where people got the information about Ino working in that Clinic. 

In the Boruto anime, she works in the Yamanaka flower shop and is the Leader of the Barrier (again, she holds her own role in the hierarchy as a sensor ninja).

This proves that people haven’t actually read the novel. And, I reiterate, Sakura does NOT work in it either, she said that professionals are taking care of the children. I reaffirm: professionals.

In fact, Ino does not even hold the title of co-founder, assistant director or co-director either. This information is displayed no where. The Clinic is a branch inside the Konoha Hospital, with Sakura as the Head. If anybody is the director of that clinic, it is Sakura. 

The meaning of co-founder or cofound is “build an institution jointly”.

Sakura had already started with her project and had everything sorted out by the time Ino joined her. Ino helped her with (part of) the preparations.

However, the title of Director of the Clinic is redundant. Sakura became the Head of the Medical Department, that means everything related to medicine inside Konoha. Since this Clinic is a branch inside the Hospital, she directs it as well. Sakura can hold the title of Founder.

In short, Ino's role was supportive. She assisted Sakura but she did NOT open the clinic with her friend. She stood with Sakura when Tsunade didn't (maybe because she's retired) and Kakashi was busy being Hokage (he doesn't have anything to do in the world of medicine). That doesn’t take credits away from Ino either. She helped Sakura a lot. It is in the novel how much she took care of the project “(Ino) helped you a fair bit”. As for others like Shizune, she is in the conference with Koharu, Kido and Kakashi as a senior medic.

Konoha Children’s Mental Healthcare Clinic is a project of Sakura. She thought, developed and succeeded with it. She is the sole founder and she had 3 of her most important friends backing her up. Without them, she couldn’t have achieved her goal.

To finish this post, I would like to highlight that some Sakura haters actually claim that the Clinic was Ino’s idea and not Sakura’s, or that Ino works in it because she works with mind techniques. Again, there is no solid ground to back this argument and there are no official references. I understand that you can dislike a character but that doesn’t mean you can remove the credit from a person and confer it to another. People that claim the last sentence as true have actually not read the novel. 

And saying that Ino works multiple jobs doesn’t make her better than any other character, and it shows how little you understand her character or like her just as it was created. Adding more qualities to her character shows that you don’t actually like how she is portrayed and also hints a little bit of disappointment with her. 

Taking qualities from one character and give it to your favorite is toxic and people do it to bring down said character and create a hostile situation. Sakura and Ino are best friends that started with good terms, developed a rather toxic rivalry, and ended the best of friends. There is no need to bring each other down.

Rain Rants again with her shitty unpopular opinion. (I might be burnt at the stake) This is long.

This is a piece about SasuSaku and NaruHina. Before I start, I should clarify: I have been a fan of both since the chuunin exams and I became an semi active-lurk member on the NF since Naruto Shippuden was released. This is my point of view about the whole ordeal since the fateful 5th of november of 2014 and how I see both fandoms in general now. If you are easily offended or nitpicky, please keep in mind this is only MY opinion and perspective.

Being in the SasuSaku fandom for a really long time has been bittersweet the same way as being in the NaruHina fandom at the same time, due to all the bickering between them when they have no basis to be mad at each other. Like, both of the fandoms became a competition about who is a better woman. In other words: they fight for the stupidest shit. Back then I would’ve sighed and felt conflicted and unable to voice an opinion because both pairing fandoms took it as a personal offense. Okay I am exagerating but most of the time it felt that way. Nowadays I laugh. And I know that I will get some fans offended by what I am about to say because SasuSaku fans are still very sensitive, and NaruHina fans, well I should say some are insufferable.

Both pairings had a lot to prove back then, I understood being defensive against people who slammed the pairings, mostly the hate directed towards the girls. Calling them names, insulting them with the overused insult of all: “useless”.

I could write a 1,500 character essay about my opinion of how Hinata became the untouchable overpowered goddess of the NaruHina fandom -considering the humble begginings of the couple- and why Sakura’s opinion about her character never changed - even though she was one of the most developed secondary characters.

I will not deny that Kishimoto’s writing of Sakura was never the best. As well as the writing for Hinata - it wasn’t the most gracious. The anime didn’t help either.  But what he could not make up for explicit development he tried to compensate it by writing their personality. And I would write another 2,500 essay explaining how this was good and bad for him.

However I can say this: I will not deny that Kishimoto’s cryptic writing, specially of Sasuke’s character, did not help Sakura’s case at all for people who were just watching without analyzing the scenes and panel by panel. Hinata’s case was more direct that’s why the popularity of Naruhina rose as the hate for the pairing did as well.

I understand Kishimoto’s need to retain all the shippers to keep reading and that’s why the red herrings were placed. And believe me, every time a red herring appeared it was hell for both of the pairings. Once the red herrings dissappeared it was clear that both pairings were meant to be. Period.

For fans it didn’t stop there. Both of the fandoms wanted to prove something, what that something was? Stupidity. Sorry but that’s how I felt that whole thing was.  (Imagine being a shipper for both of the pairings at the time. Not only fighting with the antis but also fighting between the pairings because... well they were fighting to see which girl had the bigger pussy- I couldn’t say dick because duh, but it was pretty much the whole fight).

My first bump with both of the fandoms  was with Naruto the Last. For some reason -well, instigated by the antis from both couples and the greatest shipping war there was at the time. And so a grueling 6 months battle began-, no one was satisfied. Criticism of the movie started to appear, but the shipping war got the best of both fandoms. It became infected by the antis with the valid questions: Why would Naruto wait 2 years? Why isn’t  there any Sasuke in the movie if Sasuke was spammed like junk mail in the trailers? Those questions were fair and we should’ve had a conversation as to why they would do it and move on, however at this point both of the fandoms were intoxicated. I tried to voice my opinions but I was one of the few who was seeing things in a different perspective... even the ones who were rooting for both pairings became toxic.

NaruHina fans had 4 reactions:

a- Inside the fanbase people were mad because 2 years it’s a long time, not realistic at all - and well, the development was really natural in the manga and the movie made the characters seem like they never spoke to each other at all after the war.

b- The image from the outsiders made them feel that Hinata was treated like a damsel in distress and the overall cliched plot- so, basically the fandom agreed and  they started to whine a lot.

c- The movie made Naruhina rejoice about the fan service the movie provided, but this also had negative consequences.- The most recurrent essay from the ones who liked both pairings began: “I love both pairings and I am happy for Hinata but...” forcing many of them to pick sides.

d- It all worsened by the attitude NaruHina fans took: “WE have only the best. WE have the movie. WE have the fanservice. WE are the best. Hinata was the queen all along. Hinata is stronger than... Naruhina is better than... Hinata, oh, Heil Hinata.”

I didn’t like it. I had to unfollow people I have followed since the NF days and I kept people who only liked both pairings... but even then...  there was one thing that I liked less.

Because of all of the glory Naruhina was sharing the SasuSaku fandom didn’t get much fanservice. After all the fight, we deserved something, right? Because Sakura went trhough hell to get the guy, right? After all the bickering with other fandoms, right? SasuSaku deserved have more scenes in the movie because of the trailers and moreover because SasuSaku was the main couple, right? Wrong.  

I understood where people came from when they said SasuSaku is the main couple, because well, they share a lot in part 1, it was the most developed from the 2 - well, 3 couples if we count ShikaTema-, at the time, but the truth is, since both couples did not depend one from the other, a plot involving the two would’ve been too convoluted. I guess one could say that it’s not impossible since other movies do this, but it was not a movie, it was a Naruto movie. A plot with Sasuke and Sakura’s involvement would’ve overshadowed the dynamic between Naruto and Hinata like maaaany times before. Kishimoto was forced time and time again to take Sasuke out of the picture for Naruto develop his bonds outside Team 7 not only with Hinata, but she was the most obvious of this technique.

Yes, I do understand the criticism Kishimoto had for overcomplicating things and that an arc in the manga would’ve been more fitting if he wanted to complicate it but it’s obvious that his plan was to leave it open for interpretation like he did at the end of 699. That was the end he wanted and it shows.

Most of the SasuSaku fans didn’t like it and the few that remained neutral regarding the movie were being infected little by little with each negative post. Because a double date movie was more fitting for Naruto: The Last, considering how much Sasuke there was in the trailers. The attitude of NaruHina fans did not help, it only fueled them. SasuSaku fans became extremely pessimistic. This was my second bump.

4 months passed, things were still tense I distanced myself from the fandom. SasuSaku was fighting with everybody. NaruHina was fighting with everybody. Naruto Gaiden came and for some reason... it got scary.

I loved each chapter of Gaiden because of the whole context that may have pushed Kishimoto to write it the way he did. I loved Sarada, I loved SasuSaku moments and I returned to see what SasuSaku shippers were saying, what I found was my third bump.

Whining. Cursing. Dissapointed fans. Negativism. People hating on Gaiden. Unnecesary drama, some fans pointed out.  And I thought “Wait a minute, every single story is unnecesary drama. WTH are they talking about?” “Sarada is an ungreateful child. Unlikable” they chimed. And still I was thinking: “Team 7 was not likable at the beggining either”. “Sasuke was not there? Inconceivable! I hate Kishimoto because it’s impossible for Sasuke to never have seen Sarada.”

They started to pick apart every single panel, every single interaction. The whole thing was an essay by the author of the precious couple to show the ridiculousness he had to endure for 6 months after he ended his manga. With the Thank you pages flooded with nasty messages from other antis. With the online comunity trying to boicott him, disrespecting him, harrassing him, harrassing his editors through twitter, his helpers and even some calls to Shounen Jump. Gaiden was meant to be read as a mocking piece. I saw through it and I was dissapointed that some fans were not able to see that.

At the end people tried to make peace with Gaiden and Boruto the movie came. And everyone was happy with the little interactions here and there. Just kidding. SasuSaku fans started to complain about how Sakura’s body was drawn. “Too skinny, too flat, face it’s too round. She looks like a little girl.” No, nevermind her badassery and cuteness, her body was her problem. “Kishimoto draws her like a woman. SP I hate you.”

Suddenly the problem became Studio Pierrot. Yes, I understood that they fucked up a lot of things but there was one problem the Naruto anime had as a whole especially in the transition to Naruto Shippuden and Shippuuden itself: Naruto became disjointed. The Anime of Naruto is no masterpiece and part of that was not the fillers by themselves, but the fillers in which the directors didn’t give a fuck about the story and fluidity. Little by little Naruto became less a cohesive story and more a gag anime. By the time Shippuuden had its turn to be animated, many of the boring and enraging tropes they commited in part 1 filler hell, was transitioned to Shippuuden.

If comunication is key, in Naruto anime’s case, that key was lost somewhere in the parking lot. Red herrings were glorified, Sakura’s awful personality was enhanced even though we know that in the manga, Sakura had become very fond of Naruto as a friend and was acting like a real friend to him. Sakura anime was a completely different person from Sakura in the manga.

Either way, SP tried to mend something that was completely broken by that point: Sakura’s sweet girl act did not work anymore and it made her look bad and not sincere. But it’s fine, I know directors were just following orders and animators as well. I got mad but tha’s fine, at least they didn’t change anything crucial. Yes, animation was always shitty when it came to animate SasuSaku scenes, but hey, I already knew their bias. But the fandom did not let it be.

Now, with the whole Boruto generations I have found a fourth bump. Until now, Gaiden has been well animated, things that were critized in the manga are being spelled out letter by letter. We are having more explanation, more exposition, better animation, better character designs and more personality from Sakura, and still SasuSaku shippers are negative and point their finger at SP critizing every single error it has. There are a lot of moments in general in the anime that were not shown properly or at all, but in general, the fandom seemed to accept that fact because... well, it’s SP, it’s an adaptation of a manga and has always been a bad one at that. Why is the SasuSaku fandom still negative and pessimistic? I get that we have to be critical of what we consume but.. why are they so defensive all the freaking time.

Sasuke and Sakura are canon and there is no thing an anti can say or do to change that fact. Insulting Sakura’s character or whatever it’s laughable, because despite what people might say, the manga proves them wrong. Kishimoto proves them wrong. We know that. What's the point?

To me, everytime I see a complaint without a strong case like: "this panel was cut, this scene was changed, this was not in that room. Sakura is not flat.", it shows to me what a big inferiority complex the SasuSaku shippers have. Like what the hell? I get that making fun of SP is fun, but there are shippers who are actually mad at it... like, have you not seen what a mess the Naruto anime is and you are complaining about size of Sakura’s boobs or the make up she wears or lack there of? LOL.

I finally understand: The SasuSaku fans are never going to be pleased.

NaruHina shippers: I love you guys but sometimes... ugh.

OTP (explain why): SasuSaku - How do I even start this one?? I have a draft saved about why I ship them and trust me, it is a whole essay. So I’ll just say that the love between Sasuke and Sakura is so unconventional and is so deep, even the Pacific Ocean can’t reach its depth.

NOTP (be nice): SasuKarin - I always think Sasuke treats Karin as a comrade. That’s all.

Do you have any headcanons: Oh I have a whole bunch tucked in my mind’s treasure chest. hahaha So I’ll just share one. i always have this hc that Sasuke and Sakura got married in Konoha. And while everyone that they invited are enjoying at the reception, they decided to sneak out and head to the Uchiha District. Sasuke leads Sakura to the Naka Shrine and down to the Uchiha secret meeting place beneath the shrine. Sakura wonders why they are there. Then Sasuke begins calling out to his father, mother, Itachi, Shisui, and everyone in his clan then proceeds to tell them “Meet Sakura Uchiha, the love of my life,my wife and the newest member and matriarch of our clan.,” Then he smiles at her that “smile that is only reserved to Sakura”. And as if it was a sign of them accepting her, the whole room lights up with those little orbs in the light.

Are you happy with the ending? What would you have done differently? Yes, I am happy with the ending. However, I feel that it was rushed. So if I have the chance to do it differently, I would have expanded the story and showed what everyone did post-war, making the manga at least 50 chapters longer before chapter 700. Also I would like to animate the entire epilogue novels and do them in chronological order. Also I would have done the following mid-story: (1) A Sakura Haruno arc dedicated only to her, which may include her parents, perhaps be a reincarnation of Indra’s wife, plus a major solo battle for her. Intensify her genjutsu skills, maybe showcase how well she is good with poisons, Sakura going to Shikkotsu Forest to learn Slug Sage Mode (2) An entire arc for each Rookie 9 character with a major fight (3) Sakumo Hatake backstory (4) More Indra and Ashura backstories (5)Explored more of Kaguya’s origins (6) Backstory of how Mei Terumi became Mizukage and how she was able to calm and reform the Hidden Mist from its bad reputation as the Bloody Mist (7) More Fugaku and Mikoto!! (8) More Team Taka moments (9) Kurenai active in battle (10) More Yugao and Anko Mitarashi 

How do you feel about the new generation? Overall, I like them. I love Sarada the most. She is an interesting character along with Mirai, Mitsuki, and Chocho.

Say something about your favorite character. Good and bad. Sasuke is both an intriguing character which makes him even more interesting. You can totally explore a lot about his character and you’ll still want more.

What would a child between your OTP look like? How would they behave as parents? Well we already have Sarada. But i would like to see her with long hair and when she’s a teenager she would be so curvy like her mom. I can see Sasuke and Sakura as strict parents especially when it comes to training.  But when they’re at home, I see them a s cuddly parents to Sarada.

Say something genuinely nice about your NoTP. Uhm, they are comrades. I’m glad Karin was with Sasuke during his dark times, at least someone looked out for him along with Juugo and Suigetsu. They may not have the intention of saving, at least they were there for him. And I’m happy she helped Sakura and Sasuke when Sarada was born.

Say something negative about your OTP. They still don’t have a panel kissing drawn by Kishi.

Is there anyway you could be convinced to ship your NoTP? What would make you change your mind about the pairing? Nope.

What makes you mad about the series? Fandom Wars and Studio Pierrot downplaying Sakura, Sasuke, and SasuSaaku.

If you could see anything happen in the series, what would it be? SS kissing, Sarada’s birth, SS travels,

What would you say to Kishimoto if given the chance? Thank you so much for making this masterpiece and touching our hearts with Naruto’s and everyone’s stories. You are a blessing to everyone. Please show us SS kissing and Sarada’s birth.
