Honestly there’s a lot of untapped potential for drama in continuations of the Everyone Hates You ending. Like here’s a bunch of Voices that you’ve traumatized and then left to rot, assuming they would never come back, but they’re here, and they’re out for blood.

Stuck in a world without change, they’re going to remain exactly as they were in their worst moments, forever hating and doomed to never get better, their wounds never healing. What would the worst version of themselves look like?

And do you try and help? Can you help, after everything you did to them. Or do you double down, and forsake them completely, becoming the big bad overlord of this new world of yours?

(trick question, I’ve thought about this a lot and am working on designs for the lil guys but as the worst versions of themselves.)

Non-Atonement Endings for RP purposes

I'm writing up a thing about injuries for an au me and ingllvar are cooking up and rose's post earlier reminded me that I've never talked about these. I'm very willing to roleplay these endings, but I'd like to discuss first. I wanted to see more thought and weight put into them than we got.

Trick ending: I love the idea of this ending. The execution was subpar. There are two moments where he looks down at the fake knife that read like he knows something is off. On this blog, he didn't know it was fake and decided to sacrifice himself, since he wasn't willing to give up his Goal at the request of even a romanced Inquisitor. He's too tied up in it. The only logic I can give to this then is that he was too damn concussed to really see the trap. That's still unsatisfying to me, but that's how I'll play it if I have to. I'd love to hear your ideas on how that played out in your world state, and we can bounce those ideas off each other and come up with something cooler than the game gave us.

Fight ending: Again, I love the idea of it. The problem is that if you're not hero of the Veilguard, he shows you pretty quickly how futile the fight with him is, regardless of his injuries. 1 hp Solas still vastly outclasses Rook and co. Rook 'wins' in that worst ending by basically tricking him. I actually love that ending, I wish the regular fight ending was closer to that. But I'd prefer a real fight instead of a one minute brawl. A boss battle with Solas - with ratdog - would've been awesome. If you want to rp the fight ending, we can make it something more epic. nobodyexpectsthe wrote up an awesome one where the Inquisitor tricks him right before Solas mortally wounds Rook. That's the kind of thing I love.

Post-Veilguard with these "bad" endings: Solas is unwillingly bound to the Veil. His Pride takes over completely - his monologue in the fight ending is not the softer Solas we're used to. He's fully twisted. This is not someone who's going to give up after he's imprisoned. The Dread Wolf has famously never been in a trap he couldn't get out of. Whether it takes him a year or a hundred, he's figuring a way out and how to break his binding to the Veil. The Evanuris figured out how to lure the magisters to open the Black City, and Morrigan tells us repeatedly that none were as clever or cunning as Solas. If they could do it, he sure as hell can. It'll be harder since he built the new prison to withstand that, but he'll do it. He just has to heal first.

I've seen tweets where people say he could just off himself to bring the Veil down. He could, but on this blog, his pride is too great for that. His goal is not just the Veil coming down. He believes he is the only one who can facilitate the restoration of his world. He's not going down until he's 100% sure he fully succeeded in restoring that world. He wasn't able to see it through last time. He's seeing it through this time. Add to that the twist that he feels duty bound to Mythal, and he's not backing down.
