Milkman was a bad idea for a show. He was a superhero who had photos of missing kids appear on the back of his head. It's a weird joke for anyone under 45, and it turns out that networks aren't too keen on kidnappings.

Professor Death Ray Eyes would later appear (in a different form) on Evil Con Carne. And Billy & Mandy would continue to devolve as we got closer to the pilot for B&M.

I don't remember much about Marty. I know he fell to earth and was adopted by two parents with a cat, and there was a rivalry with the cat. Maybe I've still got it around here somewhere...

Interesting thought/question on the no fanfiction thing.

What is the policy (or general response) for getting an offer to work on a franchise for the first time that you already read fanfiction for?

Like, for example, you said you've got a lot of Sherlock Holmes fics bookmarked on AO3. How would you respond if asked to write an episode for a new Sherlock Holmes adaptation?

My policy would be (and is, for other IP) to say up front, "I guarantee you that the only stories I will pitch to you are ones I can say beyond any reasonable doubt have no connection to fanfic I've read." And then I'll get to work.

If the person at the other end of the contract—in the face of my four-decades'-plus reputation as a storyteller—honestly has doubts about whether I'm telling them the truth on this count, I'll thank them for their interest in me and walk away. Life's too short to work with people who trust neither you nor your respect for other writers.

I don’t wanna see what the Pop Trolls are doing! They’ve had three movies! What’s Delta Dawn doing? What about Barb? Or Trollex!

Let’s explore the lives of the other Trolls. Let’s check in on them!

Zach Gallen does not want to leave the game. In this game, he has thrown 101 pitches and has a career high of 13 strikeouts!!! He has shut down the Yankees for 6.2 innings. He's done a great job. I want him to leave so we might get a chance to score 😉😁but he should leave or he'll end up like Gerrit Cole and have to get Tommy John's surgery and miss an entire year. I love his passion for the game, and he's a great pitcher. His knuckle curve ball has struck out many Yankees players. They are taking great care of him and taking him out of the game. Great game, Zach!! 😁 Ironically, the last time someone had 13 strikeouts and no walks against the Yankees, it was Carlos Rodon, but he was pitching for the White Sox. Baseball has a sense of humor, doesn't it? 🤣🤣

So... This 100k of superhero romance... Is it original fiction 👀

yep! after about a year of work i finished the rough draft of Red Knight and Rook in early november! now im editing and working on queries to lit agents. self publishing is great and ill probably keep on doing it for a lot of stories, but this one was always intended for a trad publisher. here's my pitch:

"Red Knight and Rook: a fast-paced and irreverent romantic comedy about a midwest superhero team in serious trouble. Although they've been best friends for years, Rook's been in love with the half-alien Red Knight for just as long, and it's only getting harder to keep his secret desire for his partner under control. The unstoppable duo can face down the apocalypse any night of the week, but facing up to the truth of what they really want from each other might just be their final issue!"

Honestly, I think people don’t realize how short a pitch is.

This is kinda in response to that anon I just answered too.

You need to get the basis down pat, who are the characters, what it’s about, how it ends. Sometimes you are only given 10mins, sometimes less like 5. However, if it starts to go longer than that, no one stopping you, that’s a good sign. But within those first few minutes you need to get the key components of the show, so unless the LGBT couple is a key essential thing, you’re not gonna list it, because most of the time they won’t care of the nitty gritty details. They basically want the plot, beginning, middle, and how the series would end.
