my thoughts/comments/highlights on anna kendrick's call her daddy podcast episode
love that she is obsessed with bart's bees pomegranate chapstick
i want to see her naturally curly hair!! :(( im glad she's more comfortable with it now and loving it
kendrick is insecure about not having gone to college :((. i agree with cooper that if you know what you want to do and have the resources and pathway in mind to do it, you don't have to go to college but it is totally valid to be insecure about it bc of societal norms
she's been in the industry since she was 10, and she talked about her journey that is further explained in her book scrappy little nobody
her parents thought and realized that she would be okay/"she made it" when she bought her first home in her 20s and brought them to it
brittany texts her "i know you're not gonna replyy but-" a lot
"brittany brings the party, i bring the grumpiness" "please call brittany if you need help with party invitations"
pp4
she has no idea if it's happening
if rebel is adamant about it she would do it
everyone is so busy and successful that it's impossible though to get everyone in the same room but the best reason for her to do a pp4 would be to have and be with everyone in the same room again
HAHAHAH HER GAY/joking PANIC ABOUT KRISTEN STEWART
she didn't tell anyone that she was doing alice darling when filming and even for a while when it came out bc she didn't want anyone to tell her to not do it. bc she just got out of an abusive relationship herself
she literally went to couples' therapy with the abusive ex and thought she was crazy in front of the licensed professional omg
she doesn't have a clear answer for "what are the universal signs of a red flag in a toxic relationship" bc how are you supposed to get into the mind of someone who is trying their best to hide them and emotionally manipulating you? you also don't spend your life looking for those red flags, they just happen like bear traps in a forest (lmao pp2) sooo it's really hard. also sometimes, people question their own memory and sense of reality and have "did this really happen" moments afterwards
she thinks her ex truly believed that he was doing nothing wrong and that she was the crazy one. bc he is not an actor or performer
cooper: it's so hard being with someone that you love for so long and then it suddenly turns abusive or manipulative, like you can't just leave when someone says "why don't you just leave"
cooper: i think it would be weird to not be affected by someone that manipulated you in a way (even years later) bc it distorts your reality
it felt like jumping a cliff suddenly pitching herself to be in charge of the woman of the hour movie. she's terrified that she's "the most experienced person there"
the camera angles in the parking lot scene truly portrayed the dead silence and terror and anticipation of a woman walking alone in the dark in a parking lot with nobody else around
there were a bunch of scenes in the movie where she was glad/noticed how being a woman director made a difference to how it would be portrayed and understood by female audiences about what exactly is happening. she is okay with the 20% of male audiences who prob wouldn't understand
kendrick is very avoidant and not in the mood for dating right now; she knows she has prospects though
she will not even go into a conversation with a man romantically if he has not been or currently in therapy. if they do start something she wants them to do couples therapy despite her previous experiences with it. it is not a guarantee of anything tho!!
what do you bring to a relationship?
anna: i will be the bodyguard and tell the waiter that they got the wrong order. i feel like i'm compensating for my short height
she feels like her humor is so dry sometimes that people mistook it as she being dead serious when she was not.

Sunshine in the Rain by Carnati0n_bl00m
“Wait, you don’t have a name? What about your parents, didn’t they give you one?”
The man simply raised his eyebrow, a small grin revealing pointed teeth.
“I do not truly have parents.”
“ What!? That’s insane!” Mickey had never been so - so -
Scandalized!
WOW OKAY!! This kinda gotta away from me cuz I wanted to TRY doing two (technically 3) scenes. THIS FIC, MAN!! It's got Mikey angst and hurt/comfort! It's got Bishop being an absolute bastard, and I wanna punt him to the moon and back!! It's got Mikey & Leatherhead becoming Besties!!! I read it right after watching the Rise Movie and OHHHH boy, it is GOOD!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Concepts for Bishop and Leatherhead! Did not draw Bishop much at all, lol. Will probably use the ref for future stuff, though! Also, I took forever finishing these cuz LH's design started becoming Bleh to me, but I had to commit cuz I was most of the way through the naming scene. Will likely tweak the design later!

• Character I Think is Underrated: annie, gabi, ymir
• Character I Think is Overrated: eren
• Favorite Ship/Pairing: eremika, yumihisu

EPISODE 30 PART TWO LET'S GOOOO–
part 1 is right here, we left off after the backstory segment :)
*ahem* This one is gonna be hefty, prepare for a long read
(Rage from the future here, good gravy did this one get long) (heheheh have fun)
We fast-forward to the present. King as released a destructive beam into the Nether. Purple flies in from the side, decking him in the face and sending him flying. He grabs the staff and hovers in place.
King hits the ground, surrounded by the CG and their allies, and the shadow copies he created. The shadow copies vanish in a flash. King gets to his feet and immediately makes a run for Purple. Purple appears to be in shock; he doesn't do much to defend himself or the staff. King is fended off by the CG and their allies until they force him down.
While he is restrained, Purple tries to undo the damage King has done to the Nether roof. The staff only sparks; it doesn't work.
The Titan Ravager destroys its shadow copy and lumbers towards king, intent on killing him. Yellow steps between them, backing up a bit in the process. This allows King to snatch Yellow's staff and throw everyone off of him.
The battle resumes, but King manages to reach Purple and strike him with Slowness III and Weakness III (while boosting himself with Strength and Speed). Purple falls like a stone, and King once again is in control of the Icon staff.
He descends, forcing the group to fall back. (Note: Green dragging Purple back from where he fell is such a nice detail) He hits them with a blast of rock and they go flying.
Especially the Skeleton. Who goes soaring right into Herobrine. Herobrine catches him and seems to expect some sort of explanation. The Skeleton gestures down, where the Enderman and the Spider remain in the realm of danger. (Herobrine's relationship with his students is so wholesome actually, someone help me)
King traps the Enderman and the Spider, but pauses as Herobrine levitates towards him. Menacingly. King responds in likeness.
Pardon me as I freak out a bit but Red's reaction here. He knows what Herobrine is capable of, but he's also seen King's destruction first hand. Whatever is going to happen in this fight isn't going to be pretty.
King sends out a flurry of attacks; darts of obsidian, a wave of fireballs– but Herobrine dodges them all before striking him down to the ground, where he teleports the Enderman and the Spider away to relative safety and continues to barrage King with precise hits.
The fight continues, each attack more swift than the last. King creates shadow copies and stone structures with Herobrine obliterates; Herobrine conjures an army of Steve copies that King avoids by flying upwards.
he can only avoid the army for so long. They surround King with tridents and arrows and Herobrine calls down lightning– but he blasts them all away and fights the army with bursts of bedrock.
One of the Steve copies get sucked into the Icon staff. King and Herobrine paused, if only for a moment. The army presses on, but King has a new weapon his disposal. The Steve copies are sucked into the staff and within a moment King has Herobrine himself caught within range.
Herobrine fights against its pull, but it's too strong. He struggles. Red steps forward, almost unconsciously. Herobrine yanks himself out of the staff and into Red.
Red's body jerks as he goes limp and begins to levitate. Herobrine is in control now, and it's beginning to look horribly familiar to the first time he possessed Red. A giant figure of obsidian is formed around Red's body, and it overpowers a shadow copy of the Titan Ravager easily. Yellow and Blue try to jump into the fight, as it seems like the tide might be turning... until. the Titan Ravager is sucked into the staff and they fall to the ground.
King has the Skeleton by the throat and he tries to fire one last arrow– he misses, and is caught by the staff as well. The Enderman and the Spider see this happen to their class-and-teammate. For a moment everything is still.
Until Herobrine/Red launches back into the fight, wielding a giant Netherite sword that King had created before. he slams King into the obsidian, striking him again and again with blows of Netherite.
King deflects one, sending it straight into the obsidian surrounding Red's body and shattering it. For a split second Red hangs limply in the air, before King swoops in and knocks him around and then into the ground. Herobrine reforms the obsidian figure, but King knows how to break it now. He breaks down the defenses bit-by-bit until he has Red's body by the throat and drags Herobrine out. Herobrine does not go without a fight, but in the end is sucked into the staff. (holding intense eye contact with King the whole time, which is kinda funny tbh)
Red drops– Purple catches him behind King's back.
With Herobrine gone, this turn desperate. Green and the Spider attack; the Spider is taken. Orange and the Warden lead an attack; in the process the Enderman is caught. King separates Orange from his friends and catches the Warden, who throws Orange to safety before succumbing to the staff.
Green, Yellow, and Blue land beside Purple and an unconscious Red, and Purple snatches Orange from the air as he flies backwards.
King flies up and lifts the staff. With no one to stop him, he sends a beam up towards the growing void space in the Nether roof. Power erupts in a bright fiery laser beam.
Things begin to be sucked into it. The Nether portals, the worlds through the Nether portals. Everything floated up and disintegrated.
Back in the Nether Red has woken up; clearly tired but ready to continue the fight. With Purple at their side they race forward, determined to stop King.
But their attempts so little more than annoy him. He throws them off, leaving him with Orange. He directs the beam directly at Orange and Orange begins to glitch. He loses his footing and flies back. he lands back with his friends, all of them glitching badly. Orange the worst of them all.
Red– oh so brave Red– stands back up and runs. Towards King, towards the beam. Alone. He dodges the beam and actually manages to land a few good punches to King's face; but King simply grabs him and forces him down into the beam. By this time Green has caught up, and he tries to help but is thrown into the beam as well. Orange leaps onto King's back but is unable to stop him from blasting Blue away. King grabs him and pushes him into the beam and away.
Purple and Yellow enter the fight, but Purple is hit away immediately. King looks up for a split second, almost as if he's a little startled to see him. But he refocuses on Yellow, pulling him of off him and dangling him into the beam.
The CG land back where they started, glitching even more severe. Green tries to get up but can't.
Purple stands. And begins to walk towards King. Green reaches out to stop him. In the background a strain of his clarinet plays, desperately. Purple pauses, but continues resolutely. His violin responds in the score as he does so.
King is still sending out the beam. Purple leaps into flight, but is intercepted by King blasting the beam into his face. His elytra flies off and disintegrate; Purple lands back on the ground and slide backwards. It's becoming too much– the glitching, the power of the beam. He himself is beginning to disintegrate.
King doesn't stop focusing the beam at Purple– and alarm sounds in his head. He shakes it, confused, until it blares again.
The night Gold died. He struggled forward, losing bits of himself– just like Purple.
King makes the connection between the two. He looks down at Purple, still reaching out to him even as his arm disappears.
Purple can't hold on any longer and it thrown back further into the beam. King suddenly realizes he's going to lose him.
He drops the staff. It lands with a thud and he runs full-tilt along the path of the beam. He runs faster and faster, and as he runs he thinks of Purple. Of the times he pushed him away and abandoned him.
King leaps into the beam. Purple disintegrates just as he reaches him, and King is sent up into the void space on the roof.
Back down on the ground, the CG run to the abandoned staff, still sending out the beam. Touching the melded Icons only results in sparking, and slamming it on the ground doesn't do anything. But Orange gets an idea. He grabs the staff and starts running. Without questioning him, the rest follow. They make their way through the Nether, the environment being destroyed around them. They jump from floating chunk to floating chunk, eventually finding the group of Piglins Blue befriended.
But even with the help of the Piglins, time is running out. The Nether is being destroyed. Over time they lose the Piglins to the void, but they are forced to run on.
They reach their own Nether portal. The one that leads home. It's floating in the air, threatening to be sucked up with the rest of the dimension. Running out of room to move, the CG use the last of their strength to direct the staff towards the portal and get Orange up there.
He reaches the portal, as the void is closing in, and hits it into the veil.
The world goes white.
King walks through a white void. Coming across a visage of his old house, he enters. It is devoid of its earlier mess, only containing a few items of furniture.
A drawing begins to show itself on the wall. It's go himself, hand-inland with Gold. Before everything went wrong. In now time the drawing shows just that: a representation of Minecraft inhaling Gold. The drawing of King collapses, before blowing up huge and intimidating, the crown on his head. He attacks the Minecraft block, punching it relentlessly.
King watches as figures begin to appear on the block: mobs, hostile and peaceful, and then the CG. After a moment Gold appears. King reacts in confusion, but startles as the drawing of himself continues to attack the block, this time using Gold. He hits the wall, desperately trying to get this to stop.
The drawing of Gold transforms into Purple.
King hits and punches the wall, finally breaking through in a burst of glass shards. There, in a dark void, lit by a spotlight, is Purple. Huddled up and surrounded with pink petals.
King runs to him.
For a moment Purple looks up and sees his father. Until King grips him into a hug and pulls him close. Purple reciprocates as the world fades again.
Back on the PC Orange bursts through the Nether portal in a blinding flash of white. The staff separates itself from the melded Icons, and things start to restore themselves in the world of Minecraft. In a split second everything that was sucked up into the beam is sent back; the blocks, the mobs, even Herobrine and the rest of the CG. Also Rueben. Can't forget him. Red is very happy to see him.
The Icons warp; they were never meant to meld like this, and they break apart in a sudden frenzy. They land harmlessly beside Orange after a moment, and Purple and King fly out of the portal into the Nether, still locked in an embrace.
They get up, all eyes on them. Orange emerges from the portal as well, and runs in front of his friends– just in case. Purple and King stand up, and Purple slowly approaches the CG. Unsure. Rueben accepts him though, so they move to King. King removes his crown and drops to one knee. Orange accepts his apology with a handshake, and Purple pulls him upright. King sets the crown on Purple's head before remaking the original command block staff and restoring the Titan Ravager's family. King then hands the staff to Yellow, who is extremely happy to accept it. Blue reunites with the Piglin tribe, and Red greets his teammates. Orange says goodbye to the Warden, and Red gives it his yellow headband. Herobrine's school has a new student, and Red's new friends have a new teammate.
Green and Purple chat a little, and Purple sets the crown on Rueben. They all hug Purple, who hugs them back. (someone save me, I'm dying)
Purple suddenly reaches out to King, who appears to be leaving. They shake hands solemnly, and King offers for Purple to come with him. Purple accepts, and waves goodbye to the CG. They all wave goodbye as Herobrine teleports him and his students back to school. (I assume)
The Piglins say farewell, and gift Blue the thing he had gone to the Nether searching for in the first place: Netherwart. And some fungus, but he feeds that to Rueben.
The Cg go through the portal and emerge on the other side. They're finally home again. But there's still something to be done. Orange picks up the Icons and hands one to Red. Red emails himself to alexcrafter28, and returns the Icon. Orange restores their own Icon to its rightful place on the taskbar.
After everything, they share a meal. With Blue of course spreading the Netherwart eveywhere it shouldn't be.
_._._
THIS WAS LONG, BOY I HOPE IT DOESN'T BREAK TUMBLR.
Anyhoo it deserved a long post, there is so much to cover in just one video. And this was only half of it! And it resolved so much!
The emotion and tone is perfect, and the way everything wraps up nicely in the end is just *chefs kiss*
I will be making posts talking about specific things relating to this episode, such as one about Red and Herobrine (!!) or maybe one about Green and Purple, but for now I can safely say I'm finished with the King arc.

Who Owns Sheesh Mahal; and Why?
This post is inspired by this post by @jalebi-weds-bluetooth in which she discusses with great clarity and insight the question of what exactly happened in Arnav's past, his trauma due to it, and how he finally overcomes it on his second marriage day. Do go and read it if you haven't already! It's an extremely well-detailed answer. It inspired some thoughts in me about the inheritance laws, the legal implications of Chachaji's actions, and Arnav/Anjali's motivations in that period.
One larger question I find interesting is why Chacha-ji could usurp all the property over Anjali, the eldest child and Arnav, the direct male heir. Why didn't anybody fight it? Anjali? Mamaji? Dadiji? Arnav himself? Here's some context:
1. What is the actual Indian inheritance law and how did it apply to Sheesh Mahal/Arvind's wealth? Indian law does not allow ANY child in a Hindu family to be disinherited completely in favor of another heir from ancestral property. Which is to say, if a person has accumulated wealth of his own during his lifetime (such as Arnav, for example), he may will it away as he wishes. However, any ancestral property - defined as any unified property or wealth passed down over 4 or more generations - MUST be distributed equally amongst all children. Once it's divided, that property no longer counts as "ancestral" for the next generation. So, for example if the owner of an ancestral palace dies, ownership must be legally shared between his every child or it must be sold off so that every child can get a share of the profits. But those inherited profits would not be considered "ancestral" property and the next generation could dispose of it how they wish. Arnav's dad and his grandfather might have accumulated personal wealth through various means in their own lives but at the very least, Sheesh Mahal was an ancestral property which, after 1956 (when this law was instituted), would have to be equally shared between all children upon the passing of the owner (ie Arnav's grandfather). Exceptions:
If any/all legal claimants voluntarily signed away their rights.
Daughters: they are entitled to claim an equal share of their father's property under this law, even IF it's not strictly 4 generation ancestral - they can argue 2/3 generation inherited property to be ancestral property - this is a bit of legal grey area.
2. So, what was Chachaji's actual claim to the ancestral property and why didn't he fight his brother for it sooner? Now this all depends on things we have no idea about - years in which various people died, legal agreements, and so on. If Arnav's grandfather passed away before 1956, the ancestral property would have smoothly passed on in its entirety to a very young Arvind, no problem, and Chachaji would get nothing and could claim nothing during his brother's lifetime (cue the Shakespearean jealousy and resentment motivation). But that's not likely considering ages and timelines - most probably, Arnav's grandfather passed away after 1956. Then legally, Chacha-ji could have fought for his share of Sheesh Mahal upon the death of his father. However, the family could have settled on Chacha-ji an equivalent monetary amount (from their personal coffers) in lieu of his share of Sheesh Mahal, to prevent the palace having to be sold or shared. I could guess that some amount of emotional blackmail, coercion, bribery might have been exerted by elders of the family on Chacha-ji to not claim those rights and agree to take the money instead of it - but unfortunately, I don't think they made him sign a legally enforceable declaration stating this. Another possibility is that in the 60s, 70s or whenever Arnav's grandfather passed away, the Sheesh Mahal property maybe wasn't worth all that much as an old building in need of much repair and the monetary value he received would have seemed like a much better deal to Chachaji that he happily grabbed. Properties like that in tier-B cities of India greatly increased in value between the 1950s and mid-1990s - as towns became cities and cities became prosperous and commercial, what once was a crumbling, high maintenance, old fashioned mansion on the outskirts of a small city becomes a high value piece of real estate in the middle of a prime commercial area with certified heritage value to boot.
No matter what, I simply cannot imagine a greedy character like Chachaji not finding ways to use the 1956 Hindu inheritance law to his benefit if and when he most profitably could. It's highly possible that in the wake of Arvind's death he defended his claim to the property by arguing that he was unlawfully cut off from his due share during the time of his father's death and he was legally owed at least half the property. And the remainder also got in his control as the self-proclaimed "financial guardian" of his underage nephew which he could easily prove himself as. This is a likely scenario especially if Arvind/his father didn't bother to make Chachaji sign any official documents waiving off his rights and merely trusted to their family ties and good faith that he wouldn't try to push Arnav out in the future. Here are another few lessons from his family history that Arnav took to heart - trust no one, money talks loudest, and always secure your deals, entries and exits with tight legal contracts.
3. Let's go back a bit. Why is Chachaji middle class and covetous? If Chachaji didn't get his property pay-off at all (ie if his father died before 1956) it makes sense. But if he did get his pay off, why would he still be middle class/poorer than wealthy Raizadas in the flashback? I assume because unlike his brother/father, he may have got a substantial fund to start with but lacked the talent or drive to increase or even maintain it. He also likely lived in an extremely lavish way. He probably whittled a lot away in gambling, women, stupid business ventures, bad investments. So there he was at the time of Anjali's wedding, having spent much of the money he got in lieu of his ancestral shares, also having got used to his lavish lifestyle that probably burned that money up, and loathe to let go of it. Sidenote: I can imagine that maybe a short time before Anjali's wedding he came begging to his brother/mother for more money, or made a scene about his "rightful" share as per law but could get nothing and with Anjali's wedding and dowry costs coming up, not to mention Arnav's expensive education and personal rights on the inheritance, they insisted they did not have any money to spare for him. This probably created a huge amount of resentment in him and fuelled his spiteful and excessively cruel actions in throwing out Anjali and Arnav at that critical moment in their lives.
4. So we see how he swiped the property from Arnav. Then the next question is what about Anjali's legal claim and why did she never exercise it? For all his sociopathic greediness, Chachaji can't change the laws. One thing we CAN be sure of is that the 1956 ancestral property law definitely applied to Anjali as well as Arnav, in fact, twofold: as per that law as a daughter she had a legal right to fight for not only ancestral property but also as an adult she had the right to fight for an immediate share in all of her father's property and wealth. However, and here's the kicker, she most likely could not do so because her father himself probably made her sign away all her rights to her inheritance at the time of her marriage. And THIS one, I am sure, would have been legally enforceable. This is a common practice in wealthy families. See, these laws are made to breakdown patriarchal norms but as long as the patriarchy exists, sexism finds a way. It's a widespread practice to ask your daughter to sign away all of her rights to the family property just before her marriage, to avoid her or her in-laws laying claims to it at a future date. Considering Anjali's youth at the time of her first marriage, she probably didn't even know what she was signing; or belonging as she did to a loving and conservative family, she trusted her elders to make the right decision and signed it happily knowing what it was, thinking she was merely ensuring her Chotte got his due. It's also very likely that Arvind did not leave a will naming Arnav as his heir. A legal will is extremely hard to contest or sideline, even if the beneficiary is a minor. But in the absence of a will, wealth inheritance becomes a legal nightmare that often is solved by he who gets there first and he who can afford the most expensive lawyers. Who could have imagined the nightmarish events of Anjali's first wedding that would have made a legal will extremely important? But once that happened, Chacha-ji probably didn't waste any time. He used Arvind's lack of a will, Arnav's young age, Anjali's legally enforceable disavowal of her legal rights, and his own status as the only adult heir with legal rights to first, get control of all of Arvind's wealth and properties, and subsequently use expensive lawyers to get them legally all in his name. Yet another one of his father's mistakes that Arnav vowed not to repeat: as situations changed, remember how quick he was to make a new and clever will that cuts out untrustworthy relatives like Shyam (and Khushi in that period I guess 😭😭😭) and protects his loved ones like Anjali? It's that lesson that most likely saved his life from Shyam's murderous intentions in the kidnapping period!
5. Why didn't Mami, Nani, fight this inheritance situation? Chachaji may have neatly usurped everything but I still think there is enough ambiguity in the situation here that if taken to court by efficient lawyers, Chacha-ji could have been defeated. However, it would have been an extremely stressful, years long affair (these things can last decades), and extremely time and money intensive. I think Nani/Manohar would have been willing to fight for Arnav's rights, but Dadi would NEED to be involved and make regular court appearances, sign several documents, give testimony as part of their efforts. But she disappeared off to her ashram. Maybe she didn't want to fight her own son in court; maybe she resented Nani/Mama as being Ratna's family and responsible for this whole affair; maybe she just didn't have the selflessness or courage to fight a weary legal battle for her grandchildren. I can imagine her regularly skipping court appearances or refusing to sign documents that painted her or her husband and son in a bad/negligent light. Her total lack of interest and cooperation on this matter probably scuppered their chances or petered out the case before it even started. I can also imagine a young Arnav himself asking his Nani/Mama to give this up - we know he has a HUGE ego (he would hate others fight his battle for him) and a relentless burden of responsibility for his loved ones and a strong sense of duty in terms of what he owes people (he'd feel guilty at how stressed they are getting and how much money they are spending, money they probably couldn't afford, all for him...he'd already be feeling like a burden and hating it and this would exacerbate his feelings of humiliation). And then of course that would birth in him the intense and burning desire to ONE DAY get his ancestral rights back on his own merits and efforts, and complete his revenge on his Chachaji. And he did, and pretty spectacularly at that, as we saw in the events of the first episode.
6. Why didn't Arnav just legally fight his Chachaji to get the property back instead of the expensive buyout we saw in episode 1? He definitely could have, and probably would have saved some money in the process. Young Arnav probably did aim for a legal battle as the means to get his properties back, working towards, among other things, being rich enough to afford the kind of lawyers who can win this case. But probably just as he got that level of rich, his investigations into the current state of affairs would have told him that his Chachaji was on a rapid financial decline anyway; a legal victory would have been long-winded, maddeningly bureaucratic and piece meal, ultimately unsatisfying - and the humiliating "buy-out" plan would have occurred to him as a much more fun not to mention a more direct and vicious way to snatch the properties and complete his revenge. As we saw in the show, it was a well-thought out, long-term plan: keeping tabs on Chachaji's declining financial status, doing what he could to make it worse, then waiting for the perfect moment to strike when Chachaji's helplessness, humiliation, and suffering would be devastating and complete. Arnav would always rather go for one direct and efficient hit via a business deal than pay his lawyers to fight a never ending legal battle in the background of his life. Arnav is not greedy and he does not covet money for its own sake. Neither does he care about "saving" Sheesh Mahal. It was never about the his birth "rights" or an emotional connect to an ancestral property or regaining lost wealth for him. It was always about revenge for the suffering his uncle inflicted on his sister and himself, payback for the humiliation they endured, and closure for that moment of traumatic abandonment.
P.S. -
This is basically like a fanfic, I know, and that's because we have a bit of gap in the details of what happened in the past on the show so I had to fill those out myself. A lot of it is hinted but not confirmed, maybe that was part of their intention in creating an aura of horrific trauma around that past event? I do think after a certain point on the show, they could have explored some of these past events a little more, and particularly we could have got some more development on the Chachaji front. Since we didn't get that, I guess we can enjoy writing speculative posts like this one!
Speaking of fanfics, this OS titled Sheesh Mahal (once again by the super talented @jalebi-weds-bluetooth!) beautifully captures what I too think would have been Arnav's attitude towards this much contested piece of ancestral property after he's actually got it. It's also an amazing slice of happily married Arshi life, extremely cute and awww-worthy.

(listen, i'm not fully fluent in hindi, and kapil breaks out the punjabi unexpectedly, so i might be wrong with some parts of the translation)
youtube

[0.:05]
kapil: sir, i'm going to play a game with you. alia, everyone will have headphones over their ears. from that, music will play. i will say a line, and you have to lip read that, then you have to tell ram sir, ram has to tell ntr sir, ntr has to tell rajamouli sir.
so are you guys ready?
please bring the headphones.
[0:35]
kapil: alia, first you come here please. (whispers) together we can beat the south-indians.
this whole game is on you, alia, based on how you explain to the others and how you guess. music will play, and don't play it too loud (to the crew), the girl is like a flower, her ears (are delicate).
please come up here, sirs.
alia: everyone come here.
[1:05]
kapil: "zindagi jhandhwa, phir bhi ghamandwa" (first phrase, which means that your life is shit but you're still arrogant/you think you're something special)
(repeats the phrase)
alia: how can i speak? (because the music is so loud)
kapil: just speak, just speak
[1:24]
alia to charan: "zindagi"
charan: "zindagi"
alia: "jhandwa" (starts laughing)
charan: "jalwa?" (jalwa means like fire/charismatic/splendid/awesome from what i understand)
alia: "zindagi jhandhwa, phir bhi ghamandwa"
[1:36]
charan to tarak: "zindagi"
tarak: yeah, "zindagi jalwa", i got that, (tell me) what's after that
charan: "phir bhi bewda" (bewda means clumsy/drunkard i believe)
tarak: "zindagi jalwa phir bhi bewda"?? (i guess means like 'life is great but i'm still an alcoholic? i don't think it makes any sense either)
charan: yeah
(laughter)
[1:50]
tarak to ssr: "zindagi"
ssr: *confused*
tarak: (something in telugu, probably along the lines of 'say it back to me')
ssr: "zindagi"
tarak: "jalwa". jalwa! like halwa! (halwa is a sweet food)
ssr: "jalwa! zindagi jalwa"
tarak: "phir bhi"
ssr: "mein bhi" (different preposition, alters meaning slightly)
tarak: "phir bhi"! ph! ph! (uses telugu word i think)
(finally communicates it)
ssr: "zindagi jalwa phir bhi bewda"?
(first round over, general laughter and outrage at the nonsense)
[2:34]
alia: i don't think i said anything wrong?
kapil: you (alia) were right, what did you say?
alia: "zindagi jhandwa phir bhi ghamandwa"
kapil: and what did ram sir say?
charan: "zindagi jalwa phir bhi bewda"
(laughter)
tarak: but what was the original thing, sir?
alia: "zindagi jhandwa phir bhi ghamandwa"
[3:03]
kapil: okay, the second line--
alia: please play the music now!
tarak: (says something in telugu, 'baaga' means good, so he might have been referring to the game or the music, not sure)
kapil: okay. "machhli jal ki rani hai, meri nani shaani hai" (second phrase, which means that 'the fish is the queen of the ocean/water, and my maternal grandmother is shaani'; that is either a name or an adjective i haven't heard before; the first half is part of a nursery rhyme, i think)
alia: "badi?" (badi means big)
[3:18]
alia to charan: "machhli jal ki rani hai"
charan: easy, take it easy.
alia: "machhli jal ki rani hai, badi nachari hai" (i believe badi nachari hai means 'is very poor', i could be wrong)
[3:36]
charan to tarak: "machhli jal ki rani hai"
tarak: "bijli"? (means electricity)
charan: "jal" (makes wave motions witb his hand to show it's water) "ki rani hai"
alia: "no, you can't do that (make gestures)
charan: okay, "jal ki rani hai"
tarak: "bijli jal ki rani hai"? (electricity is the queen of the ocean/water)
charan: "macchli!"
tarak: "machhli jal ki rani hai"
charan: "phir bhi"...? (turns to ask alia what the rest was) ...second part?
alia: "badi nachari hai"
charan: "phir bhi badi nachari hai!"
tarak: (confused) "machhli jal ki rani hai, phir bhi"
charan: "phir bhi"... (also confused)
tarak: "phir bhi"?
charan: ey, just say whatever, bro!
(laughter)
charan: "phir bhi maharani hai" (means, and yet she is a great queen/empress)
[4:13]
tarak to ssr: "machhli" (fish)
ssr: "bajrangi!" (lord hanuman)
tarak: "machhli!"
ssr: "bachti"?
tarak: fish, fish! "machhli!"
ssr: ah, "machhli!"
tarak: "machhli jal ki rani hai"
ssr: "machhli jal ki rani hai!"
tarak: yeah. (turns to charan) "phir bhi maharani hai?"
charan: just say whatever
tarak to ssr: okay, "phir bhi maharani hai"
ssr: (understanding) "phir bhi maharani hai". okay, "machhli jal ki rani hai, phir bhi maharani hai" (meaning, the fish is the queen of the ocean, and yet she is the empress)
[4:49]
alia: what was the original?
kapil: okay, so the actual line was this, "machhli jal ki rani hai, meri nani shaani hai", but still everyone got 50% correct
[5:00]
alia: one more? one more, i like this game
kapil: "bhains poonch uthayegi, toh sober hi rahegi" (this is a modification of the original phrase, and i guess it means 'if the buffalo lifts its tail, it'll remain sober? i'm not aware of any other meaning of sober, so this sounds like nonsense)
alia: what? (kapil repeats the phrase and she's still confused, he acts it out) "bhains, poonch, hila rahi hai" (means the buffalo is shaking the tail, i think, but i also have heard 'hilana' as slang for masturbating)
(kapil explains once again, and she doesn't get the second half, so he changes it to the original film phrase: "bhains poonch uthayegi, toh gober hi karegi" which means when the buffalo lifts its tail, it's going to shit cow dung, i suppose that means there's no point being surprised about something, what did you expect)
kapil: (say) whatever you want.
alia: (still confused, thinks he's saying the line) "jo kamaaye"? (something about earning)
(goes through it one more time)
alia: "bhains poonch uthaye, toh bade kamaaye?" (means if the buffalo lifts his tail, you'll earn a lot of money)
kapil: sure
charan: kapil sir, the song ended just now
[5:53]
alia to charan: "bhains poonch uthaye"
charan: "main poonch"...? (about to say 'when i lift my tail')
alia: "bhains!" (buffalo, not you)
charan: oh, "bhains!"
alia: "bhains poonch uthaye, toh bade kamaaye"
charan: "bhains ka poonch bade kamaal ki hai" (means the buffalo's tail is really awesome)
[6:14]
charan to tarak: "bhains ka poonch bade kamaal ki hai"
tarak: (confused)
(alia stops him, asks kapil to tell her the phrase again)
kapil: the buffalo has put its tail back down
alia: ???
kapil: (repeats the line) "bhains poonch uthayegi, toh gober hi karegi"
alia: OH! (turns to charan) "bhains poonch uthaye, toh rupay laaye" (means when the buffalo lifts its tail, it will bring rupees)
[6:35]
charan to tarak: "bhains ka poonch uthayega, toh paisa aaya" (essentially the same meaning, when the buffalo lifts its tail, then money came)
tarak: (tries to understand, so confused; the others tell him to pass it on) what am i supposed to say?
kapil: explain, explain to him (ssr) now
charan: say it
[6:58]
tarak to ssr: "bhains"
ssr: "bhains"
tarak: "poonch uthaye"
ssr: "poonch utha!"
both tarak and charan: "toh paise aaye"
ssr: "toh paisa aaya"??
[7:14]
kapil: okay, now remove your headphones!
ssr: what is that?
tarak and charan: was that correct?
kapil: so what i said to alia was, "bhains poonch uthayegi, toh sober hi rahegi", at first. she didn't understand. so then i said the exact line "bhains poonch uthayegi, toh gober hi karegi". she (alia) said, when the buffalo lifts its tail, then money (rupees) comes. when the buffalo lifts the tail, does an ATM open there or something?
(alia is embarrassed)
kapil: but it was a wonderful game! you all played very well! please come sit.
