Something I wish I got to see more is the idea of abusive parents as god-like figures. This is a motif mostly present thru my real life (idk if you'd call it a motif but who cares?) and is actually the reason Luluco has horns, the exact reason being that "I do everything wrong, I'm Lucifer" was a thing I said a lot when my mother was complaining about me existing.

I mean it's worth pointing out before I get more personal that it is a fitting motif. After all god is a father like figure and what's expressed by many (not me, I don't have that relationship to religion) is a feeling of being abandoned by that who was meant to look after you, which parallels to a parent's neglect.

Now, REALLY getting personal...

These two parts from the song Almost Human by Aurelio Voltaire truly resonate with me, because much or my arguments with my mother was me speaking out. My brothers avoided trouble by being quiet but I couldn't do that. Also I was literally kicked out of my house too and I still miss the place despite everything.

These two other lyrics too come to mind. First one is from Poor Isaac by The Airborne Toxic Event (😷) and the other is God Help You, Dumb Boy by Reverend Glasseye.

The first obviously reference is the aforementioned Being Kicked Out thing but there's also the angle of, of this quote by Bojack, let me pull it up.

The thing with abusive parents is that. They're all you have and they hate you. And I talked about this a lot with my therapist and I got over the idea that I had done something wrong, but what am I left with? Am I supposed to not feel even more pain, even more rage?

Nel rapporto sulla competitività dell’Unione europea commissionato da Ursula von der Leyen, (...) Mario Draghi ha illustrato le linee guida per rilanciare l’economia dell’Unione, cresciuta negli ultimi vent’anni in misura nettamente inferiore a Cina e Stati Uniti.

L’Ue si trova in una congiuntura particolare perché le tre condizioni esterne che ne hanno sostenuto la crescita - commerci globali in rapida crescista, energia a costi bassi e difesa garantita - sono venute meno. (...) Per cui il modello economico che ha sostenuto l’Europa è obsoleto (...). Nel rapporto si legge, tra l’altro, che l’Europa “dovrebbe imparare dagli errori fatti nella fase di iperglobalizzazione” (...) (...).

Di fronte a questo scenario Draghi consiglia di puntare su innovazione, decarbonizzazione e difesa e di farlo con maggiore coesione e attenzione al mercato unico. Per (farlo) l’Europa, dice Draghi, deve investire 750-800 miliardi di euro all’anno, pari al 4,4-4,7% del suo Pil. Questo significa investire il triplo di quello che si è investito con il piano Marshall tra il 1948 e il 1951 (...). Sia il settore pubblico, anche con strumenti di debito comune, che quello privato sono chiamati a contribuire a questo sforzo.

b) gli investimenti colossali sono necessari perché l’Europa deve ottenere crescita, ma vuole farlo stando dentro i binari autoinflitti della decarbonizzazione e della "coesione sociale" (aperta agli extracomunitari, ovviamente).

Il sogno green (, di inclusività senza se e ma) e di “indipendenza” geopolitica europea comporta rischi (...) e tempi lunghi, l'unica cosa certa sono i costi, altissimi (...) e sappiamo bene che nessun altro (Usa, Cina, India, altre medie potenze) hanno intenzione di autoinfliggersi un percorso colmo di "paletti green" come l’Europa.

Con il rapporto Draghi l’Europa annuncia al mondo di non essere un soggetto politico compiuto e questo, (oltre a essere una verità di fatto), dovrebbe consigliare realismo. (...) mitsuri would have always known she wanted to be a mom. she was raised in a big family and looked after her younger siblings often. she knew what having a family was like and she couldn't be more excited to have one of her own.

iguro is the exact opposite. his family life was, well, quite literally the worst — to the point he doesn't even like thinking about it or he'll feel sick for days.

shinobu never had much thoughts when it came to starting a family. she's never been attracted to men so she didn't imagine herself settling down with one and having kids, especially after becoming a hashira where she wasn't sure how long she'd live.

it was only after their relationship with mitsuri where the other two began to consider what having a family would be like.

shinobu was the most hesitant of the three. despite knowing mitsuri was in love with her and iguro and her had a bond that went beyond words, she was scared that the kids would view mitsuri and iguro as their parents and she'd just be a random person to them.

iguro also had his worries and fears. he was terrified of anything terrible happening to his children, or becoming like his parents. the possibility of anything happening to mitsuri or shinobu if either them were pregnant also made him worry.

their experience with kids helped a lot though. shinobu grew use to taking care of the girls in the butterfly household, and iguro had grown to care and keep any eye out for muichiro — he even had a few instances where he and mitsuri were looking after the boy and he couldn't help but think of them as a family.

mitsuri would be the one to get pregnant. shinobu would be far too terrified of pregnancy and much too dedicated to her work to take a break. mitsuri had the most extreme craving ever and was super emotion, probably crying about if what she was eating what going to affect the baby's hair.

she had twins, two girls. one came out with black hair with pink tips along with heterocromic blue and green eyes, whereas the other had purple and pink hair with one purple eye and one golden one.

mitsuri was super affectionate, of course. she also spoiled the kids like no other. if the kids wanted a hug, she was who they'd run for.

iguro was more so protective, always keeping an eye on anyone besides the three of them who were around the kids.

shinobu was the nervous parent, though she didn't let it show unless it was to mitsuri or iguro. she held the babies with the most careful and gentle hands and treated them like porcelain.

shinobu always took care of any injuries they may of acquired, as well as being the one to force them to wear a jacket or put on sunscreen. she was also great for advice.

iguro was the one who'd always go to them rather than them going to him. when they were angry, he knew exactly what to say to help them feel better, and he always tucked them in for bed with a glass of water and a bedtime story.

mitsuri would rock them to sleep and take naps with them, especially after she just gave birth. later, she'd be the one to sit with them if they had a nightmare. she'd make them their favorite food and give them the best hugs whenever they were sad.

shinobu was called mommy, mitsuri was mama, and iguro was daddy. they each had their own nicknames for the kids as well; shinobu would call them something personam that reflected their names and appearances, whereas mitsuri would use phrases like "her loves" and such, and iguro always settled on them being his little princesses (or sometimes brats when they wouldn't listen).

Thanks, I did some digging around last night but not a ton. I do think distinguishing it from "moveable and loseable personal possessions" is still an accurate characterization—I tried to be relatively narrow there—but I think you're right that my etymology is not quite right.

(The main point, that land is its own category of property, I don't think anyone is disputing.)
