Here's the other Will Wood drag number I was talking about! This one is Suburbia Overture and it was done in November of 2024.

The lore in my head for this one is that the puppet guy lives in a suburb or something that's eerily hyperfixated on uniformity and the adherence to gender roles.

This character is discovering that his gender is more complex than what he first thought, but can't express these feelings due to his community's rules and regulations. He goes from simply noticing and mocking the absurdity of his situation to descending into full on madness due to lack of ability to express his full self. After his secret is out he has a moment of clarity, he knows he's going to be cast from the only community he's ever known. Saddened for a moment, he tries to cling to what little normalcy he has left before realizing he'd rather venture into the unknown than stay in such an awful, stifling place. Puppet guy then takes his leave, ready to embrace his authentic future.

I am also so SO proud of this one, I always love Will Wood's music and the stories I can tell when I do drag to his songs, I hope y'all enjoy!!!❤️💙

#FUCKED UP THINGS HAPPENING IN THE KISKE HOUSEHOLD...#Sin is around 3-4 years old in Overture #and it's implied Ky was absent for large chunks of time before entrusting Sin to Sol (which I DIDN'T KNOW AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS...)#Ky would've missed milestone after milestone... every time he would've come home it would've been like years passed while he was gone #and for Sin it *was* for someone who grows so fast it *was* like years passed in his absence #I can't blame Sin for feeling like Ky abandoned him and his mother. There was no *time* to process what was going on #and I know it would be killing Ky that things turned out this way because he cares so deeply about them both-#giving up the thunderseal to try and keep Dizzy in stasis until he could figure out a solution.#sending Sin to live with Sol because he knows he'll be safe with him.#Kys very soul manifested itself as a statue representing his wife and child! he *loves* them with everything he has!!#but he has to keep himself away from them to keep them safe #this shit HURTS wwAOUGH.#I have to cut this ramble short but KNOW THIS. My dear wife has played fighting games for a good long bit and bought me xrd years back . Never rlly played much but thought the lore and characters were neat (proudly a huge fan of testament for like 5 years now they r dear to me) and then last year when she visited for the first time we found a +r cabinet at the local round one and I fucked around w venom and robo ky and found out fighting games r rlly rlly fun when you find characters you like to play and then The Autism Took Ahold.

#I watched a story summary like. 4? years ago when she first bought me xrd and so all my info was from a half baked ramble I watched once #I also knew it cys it was In the same aesthetic anime fighter group as darkstalkers which I adore and have for yeaaars #also I liked elphelt cus I like characters named valentine and never knew enough about xrd or knew overture existed to know about the others #LOL #I think the first eounds we played I picked elphelt and didnt have much fun at all cus violet is a solid grappler and well.#I came away w a distaste for fighting games to say the least.#but plussy brought me back. smthing about robo kys stupid shit and venoms range like gripped me. ohh that's such a tough question...i don't think i could choose just one. but tchaik 1 mvt 2 is Speaking to me right now though. those slow lyrical ones from the late romantic era i think are some of the hardest but most rewarding ones to play well, and some of the absolute sweetest to listen to

#winter daydreams.........looks off into the distance misty eyed. yeah #sasha answers #recapitulation #ty!!#other contenders in that genre are the slow solo from strauss don juan...tchaik 4...brahms vln concerto...mahler das lied von der erde...#some great stuff from the classical and bel canto eras too of course shoutout beethoven and rossini #but for whatever reason This is the vibe tonight.#and i think there's an obvious level of skill and sparkle involved in something fast light and articulate like beethoven 6 #or la scala di seta overture #but the slow sustained solos are deceptively tricky. it takes so much breath and embouchure control to keep the pitch and tone in place #and because i'm a weird freak about connecting everything as smooth as possible i circular breathe like mad #so there aren't obvious breaths to break up the line anywhere #which. i've been told i need to cut that shit out by teachers so i don't make listeners pass out LOL #oboeposting
