If you’re up for it, I have a question — I am quite new to the fandom, so where do you think Sam and Caitríona are with each other right now? Do you think they’re together and just waiting for the right moment to announce it, or what do you think is going on? And apart from the obvious, do you have any material that points toward a relationship between them?

Hello Nonnie!

I think that Sam and Caitriona have been together since early in their Outlander adventure, and married since 2015. Will they announce it after Outlander has ended? I don't know. That said, Caitriona has recently acted as though she's ready for the Narrative to end. She's had her hands all over Sam during promo. Sam, on the other hand, has acted much more reserved, perhaps since he still has ties to Starz through TCND. I've read he even has a handler watching him at events. That alone would make me nervous.

I would love for the Narrative to end sooner than later, but that's not up to me. I dislike how it's negatively affected Outlander (think Season 4 and Sam and Cait's obvious discomfort touching each other) and outwardly tarnished what used to be such a beautiful love.

As far as material with clues as to their relationship, I'll immediately post one of my most popular posts from the past for you to peruse. It's titled "This is my SamCait love story, and I'm sticking to it!" (I don't know how to attach it to this post.)

Hi, I haven't been here for a while. Was trying to find some promo for 7b but there is nothing on twitter and very little on Instagram. I don't know about other social media outlander Starz uses but seriously wth? The season 7b starts in two weeks an no promo crescendo anywhere?? Or am I missing something?

Unsure what you mean by 'promo', though. I was asking myself the same question in a chat with a good friend, the other day, believe it or not. To which she very judiciously reminded me about the New York Comic Con, the Paley Fest, the Happy Sad Confused 10 Year Anniversary live and the entire kerfuffle surrounding those events. And she was right.

For all of these, please use my Archive button: you'll find most of the things (spare the Golden Derby interview I didn't have time to watch, even). And for all the rest, please take a look at our friend @bat-cat-reader 's page- she posts everything, with fewer comments than in here. I think she is the best source on this side of the fandom.

I am still wondering if we are going to have some sort of 'premiere' event and I am not sure at all this will be the case. Instead, we have poorly edited interviews. I am bracing myself for Reshma Gopaldas' hogwash nonsense (her looooong episode critic rants) once 7b hits our screens.

Outlander Promo is so obvious…

It appears that whenever SH is faced with a difficult and questioned truth, he quickly tries to cover it up with opportunistic decisions.

He used Taylor Swift's visit to Scotland with speculations as a way to divert attention, particularly in response to photos of JJ circulated in tabloid magazines. It was an orchestrated story by Outlander STARZ to overshadow SH’s truth creating insinuations using a pop star and trying to boost the Outlander series' TV ratings after a long period of inactivity by the cast appearing in their box at the Eras Tour concert in Murrayfield stadium.

All suggest that dealing with the truth head-on could potentially expose SH, which might be why this strategy was used. Overall, it seems like there are some reservations about the promotional tactics and the impact on SH's public image.

Well, now SH can smile but it’s not a secret Outlander Starz promo’s idea was to create this circus and It was a tactic for dealing with truth. SH became a loudmouth because the pop star had no idea he existed, something slipped. SH would show himself better if all around him could take the wind out of their sails If he wanted to learn to sail alone.

I must preface my response by saying that I don’t believe Cait is married to anyone other than Sam. The public “marriage” is nothing more than a publicity stunt to bring the focus to the narrative. It’s not so much about Cait’s “marriage” as it is about “proving” that Sam and Cait are not together. 

That said, I doubt Cait realized that the bigwigs would hijack it for Outlander promo. Their co-opting of the fake engagement and wedding for their own nefarious purposes should tell anyone with a brain that they are part of this nonsense. Executives at that level have no reason to get involved in a narrative unless it serves them.

I think Cait’s upset that her stunts didn’t stay in the background as she had planned contributed to her lashing out on twitter and to her blocking sprees. I believe she was blindsided by her bosses, leaving her feeling backed into a corner whenever she was questioned.

I don’t think the “marriage” has hurt Sam’s reputation. Those of us here on Tumblr study everything with a magnifying glass. Casual fans don’t see what we see, and for the most part they accept what they are shown without question. However, based on the number of new followers the past few months, it appears that some of the new OL viewers have noticed the same thing shippers noticed years ago. Some things are hard to hide if you have the eyes to see.

What the bigwigs at LG/Sony/Starz didn’t take into account is that shippers have very long memories and a mega-warehouse full of receipts. We’re also smart, and many of us are intuitive. 

I know what I’ve seen all these years, and I know what Sam and Cait openly showed us before Albrecht brought the hammer down on January 8, 2016. They can bring in all the ridiculously fake girlfriends they want for Sam, and all the fake ceremonies they want for Cait, but I know better.

My blog is about love. I honor the love I’ve seen between Sam and Cait both before and after the denial. Why am I so steadfast? It’s really about trust: I can choose to trust myself and my own inner knowing, or I can believe the illusion that others are desperate to sell. For me and my house, I trust love.

You guys are definitely not alone. I know what I've seen and observed on my own with a little digging, and what I've seen here with this "group" so far only confirms what my gut has been telling me. Glad to find I'm not the only one who believes in "standing back and observing" when one encounters a brick wall. Sam and Cait both (but especially Sam) have been sharing little nuggets all along. Of course, the nuggets com in spurts, but that is to be expected, due to what they must do to try and satisfy everyone, especially bosses. I strongly feel more will be coming and it is just a matter of patience. I think they are honestly doing the best they can at the mo.

Outlander season 7

Interesting. I just saw a promo for Outlander Season 7 (and Starz) on MSNBC. I do not have Starz. I have had problems with starz. But I had not yet decided whether to try to get them again for the season 7, or just wait for it to get to Netflix.

The comments under the recent promo pictures on outlander starz and Sam page .. Someone said they want Sam but if starz could cut out C it'd be better, then C's Onlies came at this person and it didn't stop fighting in the comments with very very rude words. If SC / Starz read this.. so childish🤦

I have looked, but aside a surreal/WTF duel between a Frenchwoman and a Gringo over JAMMF's questionable side, I have seen nothing of the sort. Sometimes, I'd love to know what those women smoke - must be something strong, mind you. Also true I couldn't be arsed to take a deep dive.

This is not an OL event, nothing to do with the STARZ promo. It's money for a private American company that boosts its business, making money and living at the expense of Outlander actors and fans. So it's no wonder Lauren made this comment, they come face to face with the irrational, but they feel inside themselves who yearn for happiness and reason. It's an absurd situation, but she's furthering this absurd business with a show coming to an end.

It's tacky to make yourself known by living a good life at someone else's expense; it won't make you more popular.

But Lauren is right! Only very dumb people 🤪 will enrich a private American company for a meeting with OL actors.
