ok kinda weird question for you guys: whenever you listening to "out of touch" by hall and oates (linked below), does it almost feel like it transitions into the chorus just a bit too early? like. amazing song, obviously, but for some reason every time i listen to it, im anticipating another couple beats before the chorus starts. am i insane???
(the song in question, give it a listen if you arent sure what i mean)

Fix You
Written By: Will Champion, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland & Chris Martin
Artist: Coldplay
Released: 2005
“Fix You” is the fourth track and second single from Coldplay’s third album X&Y. It was written by Chris Martin for his then-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, to comfort her after her father passed away. Martin explained to USA Today: “My father-in-law Bruce Paltrow bought this big keyboard just before he died. No one had ever plugged it in. I plugged it in, and there was this incredible sound I’d never heard before. All these songs poured out from this one sound. Something has to inspire you, and something else takes over. It’s very cloudy.” He also told Mojo magazine: “Because it’s so unlikely that that song would have come out of that period. The rest of that album (X&Y) I like, but I don’t think it’s great. Whereas that song… it’s the best one because it almost single-handedly got us through a really difficult two years. You could say it’s too soft or whatever, but… it does exactly what it says on the tin. Even when I’m singing it, by the time I get to the end, I’m thinking, ‘I like this’.”
[Verse 1: Chris Martin] When you try your best, but you don't succeed When you get what you want, but not what you need When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep Stuck in reverse And the tears come streaming down your face When you lose something, you can't replace When you love someone, but it goes to waste Could it be worse? [Chorus: Chris Martin with Will Champion] Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you [Verse 2: Chris Martin] And high up above or down below When you're too in love to let it go But if you never try, you'll never know Just what you're worth [Chorus: Chris Martin with Will Champion] Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you [Instrumental Bridge] [Bridge: Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman & Will Champion] Tears stream down your face When you lose something, you cannot replace Tears stream down your face, and I Tears stream down your face I promise you I will learn from my mistakes Tears stream down your face, and I [Chorus: Chris Martin] Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you

Out of Touch
Written By: John Oates & Daryl Hall
Artist: Hall & Oates
Released: 1984
Producer Arthur Baker, known for his recent work on the breakdancing film Beat Street, was recruited to give “Out Of Touch” a distinctly urban feel. It was released as Hall & Oates' first single from their twelfth album. The song remains the duo’s last song to top the Billboard Hot 100, holding the position for 2 weeks in 1984. It also topped Billboard’s dance music chart and appeared on the R&B and Rock charts. Overseas, it reached the top 40 in five countries.
[Intro] Hey, y'all, whoo! I don't care if you got no legs! Dance on your knees! You're out of touch I'm out of time (time) [Verse 1] Shake it up is all that we know Using the bodies up as we go I'm waking up to fantasy The shades all around aren't the colors we used to see Broken ice still melts in the sun And times that are broken can often be one again We're soul alone And soul really matters to me Take a look around [Chorus] You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh [Verse 2] Reaching out for something to hold Looking for a love where the climate is cold Manic moves and drowsy dreams Or living in the middle between the two extremes Smoking guns hot to the touch Would cool down if we didn't Use them so much, yeah We're soul alone And soul really matters to me Too much
[Chorus] You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Ooh Oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh (Out of touch) [Chorus] Ow, you're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around [Chorus] You're out of touch (We're soul alone, girl) I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around You're out of touch I'm out of time (Out of touch, out of time, out of touch, out of time, girl) But I'm out of my head When you're not around [Chorus] You're out of touch (Reach out for something to hold) Time But I'm out of my head When you're not around (You're too cold, girl, too cold, girl, too cold, girl, yeah) You're out of touch I'm out of time Not around [Chorus] You're out of touch I'm out of time (Out of touch, out of time, out of touch, out of time) (Out of touch, out of time, girl) But I'm out of my head When you're not around You're out of touch Yeah, I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around [Outro] You're out of touch I'm out of time…
