i will read literally anything you write for patrick (or bowers gang in general) after reading soak 😭🖤 i loved it
say less but don’t regret that later ✋🏻 i found this in my notes on my phone after taking a break from my current wip. bully me into beta reading my stuff next time, i‘m writing at an 3rd grade level sometimes-
for him
•warning: mention of toxic family, toxic relationship, self harm, patrick hockstetter
Patrick was nothing short of a cruel bastard. You knew because everybody in school told you when he first draped his arm around you in the halls before letting you go to your Chemistry class.
“You‘re fucking with Hockstetter? He definitely has bodies in his basement.“ But he called me his girl in front of his friends, was what you wanted to answer. But you didn‘t because you knew how desperate that would make you sound. Because you didn‘t like the truth. You knew that you weren‘t made for him like he always told you when you got close enough to finally standing your ground, finally leaving him. But his words pulled you in just enough to let him sink his claws in your flesh, your heart, all over again.
But the pulsating ache in your chest was the price you paid for falling too deep for someone too far from your reach. Someone like Patrick Hockstetter who never had good intentions. But you convinced yourself that you were different the day he walked you to your house right before curfew.
“So.“ You turned towards him after he broke the silence between you two. “Where‘s my price?“ There was a grin plastered on his face as he leaned down to meet your height. Your breath caught in your throat as he pressed his lips to yours for the first time. Looking back, that was your doomsday, the day you fell for Patrick and never found the rope out of that hole again. So you gave up the act and pushed against him.
It didn‘t last long before he pulled away. Not because he wanted to but the yelling, the screaming that erupted from one of the houses surprised him. The flush on your face burned hotter and right then he knew. It came from your house.
Patrick wasn‘t one to ask questions. He got pretty good at piecing those puzzles together. Broken homes, angry parents, neglected children. He‘s seen it. And to think that you were one of those poor fuckers almost made him laugh in your face. He didn‘t. Not yet.
Not until he really had you. Admittedly, that wasn‘t hard because he only had to say the word and you would stick to his side with needy eyes.
He never asked you out because why would he? He brought you along in Belch Huggins Trans Am. He let his arm dangle over your shoulder. So wasn‘t that pretty much the same thing? The answer was no, but you ignored the little signs with every kiss, with every touch. You were there for his amusement of course. But that meant you did something good for him.
But Patrick always went too far with his jokes and sometimes you didn‘t think they were jokes anymore. He saw how upset you got sometimes, everyone there saw. They knew how he would get and Victor Criss almost felt bad for you when you looked up at Patrick, expecting an “i love you“ that sure as hell never came or even a “sorry“ for everything he did, said. You wanted to look into his face and see warmth pool in his beady eyes for once. You wanted him to pat your head, give your small sign that things were ok. But they weren’t and you knew. Patrick knew. His friends knew.
But all you got was an eerie grin as he loomed over you, leaning against Huggins car. “Don‘t cry, princess.“ You averted your eyes at the snickering that came from his friends. “Made your girl cry again, Hockstetter?“, Belch called from a distance. Fuck them. Patrick briefly turned around to shoot them an amused look. Fuck him, too.
“Should’ve just put out a little, sweetheart.“ A cold thumb traced your wet cheek and you knew you didn‘t mean it as you already leaned into his touch.
“I saw them.“ Your heart skipped multiple beats and you almost thought it would stop completely.
The sun already set when your legs draped over his lap, one hand resting on your thigh. He snuck in through your window again and being his usual shameless self, he settled on your bed and beckoned you closer.
But suddenly you were hyper aware of the way his rings pressed into your skin and his thumb drew tiny shapes in your flesh.
“What?“ Your hands clawed at your duvet. His eyes were unmoving, staring right into yours as his hand traveled up your thigh, making your breath catch.
“The scars. You think I‘m stupid, hm?“ If these words came from anyone else they would sound concerned. But this was Patrick Hockstetter and he wore a grin way too big for the topic he just dropped.
“No, I-“ Your eyes darted down to your thigh, your shorts barely covering the lines littering your skin and you were glad they did, not wanting to be exposed any more than you already were. But Patrick never let you have anything nice like that. His cold fingertips slipped into your shorts, pushing the fabric right over your shame, your secret.
Your breath hitched as his fingers traced the freshest cut. It still burned.
“You can do better.“ Your eyes flew up, thinking he was finally letting his mean demeanor slip for you. Telling you to stop doing this to yourself. That he would be there for you the way you were there for him.
“You can go deeper than that.“ You face fell and Patrick seemed to find that hilarious, snorting at your reaction. Your heart wasn‘t sure if it should drop into your stomach or beat its way out of your ribcage.
“C‘mon, you should‘ve done your arm instead, darling.“ There was the clinking of metal when Patrick‘s ring clad fingers pulled his switchblade out of his pocket but you were frozen in place. This didn‘t feel real. There was no way.
“Try tying your arm before. Y‘know, to make it really squirt.“
You felt like crying when he inched his switchblade closer, expecting you to take it.
“Patrick, no...“, you whispered and Patrick‘s arm pulled back. “No?“ The pinch in his brows made you swallow the lump in your throat. Was he mad at you? He couldn‘t be mad.
So your shaking fingers curled around the handle and you peered up at Patrick, searching. Looking for anything other than disappointment. Looking for his approval like you always did. And the smile that creeped onto his face was enough to flick the blade open.

My Captain [Pirate AU]
[PIRATE AU MASTERLIST] This is part two of @gridoc ‘s birthday present, also based on a wonderful commission she did for me! This is set way after the other stories, when Grian just left the navy and joined Doc’s crew
~*~
Grian stood at the railing of the ship, looking at the first rays of the sun peaking out at the horizon, searching for any sign of a navy ship. He was now part of Doc’s crew… And wasn’t this a weird thing to even think about, let alone say out loud? Sure, he had wanted to do it. He never did anything this rash without thinking about it… It was still weird. Especially in situations like these, everyone asleep but him, the safety of a whole pirate crew in his hands.
He had been the last one to take the night shift and it was always a challenge for him, standing out here all alone with nothing but his thoughts keeping him company. He was only glad the others trusted him enough to put him on the night shift at all. It really spoke louder than a thousand words.
He heard the creak of a door and steps, making him tense a bit. He took a deep breath and forced his shoulders to relax again, before turning around.
Ren stood a few steps towards him, a bright smile on his face. Ren was always the first one to get up on deck and he was the only one who was always bright and cheery right after getting up. Ren walked up to him, but stopped about a metre away, leaving him his space, just like he always did. And Grian was thankful for that.
“Did anything happen? Any ships? Any scary magical feelings?”
Grian shook his head. “I would have called you if that was the case.”
Ren nodded and stretched a bit. “Good, good. Doc should be out and about in a few along with the rest of the crew.” Ren looked at him for a while, as if he wanted to say something but held back. Grian was pretty sure it was something concerning Doc and he was really glad that Ren never actually went through with asking. Because he might have joined the crew to get away from the navy, but he still got confused everytime he thought about his relationship with the crew’s captain. And they all must have noticed.
“Not now, Ren.”
“That’s what you say every time. One day you’ll need to talk about it… Or at least think about it.”
“There’s not a day I don’t think about it.” Grian smiled and looked at the sea, his loose hair flying in the wind. “I owe your Captain my life after all. He came when no one else did. He’s… He’s important to me. I just don’t know if I really...”
Grian stopped himself when the door to the deck opened again and Doc stepped out. His smile widened a bit, a warm feeling entering his chest as he looked at his… the Captain. Doc was rubbing his eye, his hair was a mess, his clothes dishevelled and a deep frown showed that he had probably once more been kicked out of bed by either Etho or False. Going by the size of that frown it had probably been Etho and Doc had most likely already heard more than one bad joke this early in the morning.
When Grian turned his gaze back, he realised that Ren was looking at him knowingly, a wide smirk on his face, arms crossed in front of his chest, one eyebrow raised. And Grian immediately knew what that look meant. “Oh, shut up.”
“I’m not saying anything”, Ren replied in a sing-song voice.
“You were thinking about it! Stop that!” Grian grumbled and when Ren started laughing he threw his hands up in frustration and walked to the door leading below deck. It was his turn to get some sleep while the rest of the crew started working.
This also meant he had to walk past Doc. Grian realised with annoyance that his heart started beating a bit faster the closer he got.
“Doc”, he said shortly when he was a few steps away from Doc.
He would never get used to this, the way Doc’s head snapped up to look at him, the way just uttering one word made Doc smile so brightly, his eyes sparkling with uncontainable joy.
Doc behaved so differently around him than around any other member of his crew, keeping him at the back at each and every battle. And Grian hated that. He was one of the best fighters on this ship. He had proven that, when he had defeated Doc a few years back. But Doc treated him like he was made out of glass and unable to protect himself.
“Grian, are you...”
“Going to bed. See you when we hit land”, Grian just replied shortly.
Grian didn’t look back when he went below deck, the route already so familiar. He walked past the Captain’s cabin and then stopped at the next door. This room totally wasn’t the place a newcomer like him deserved or would have gotten if it had been anyone but him. It was a miracle the rest of the crew didn’t hate him for this blatant favouritism.
Grian sighed and stepped into the room, taking off his belt and weapons, putting them all aside, except for a small knife that he laid down right next to his pillow. He took off his shirt next, keeping his eyes on the wooden wall straight ahead. He didn’t want to see the faint marks that were still covering his body. One day they’d fade or become just another scar on his body, but that day wasn’t today; that day was still far away.
~*~
There was loud knocking on his door and Grian awoke with a start, hand instantly flying to the knife, eyes searching the room.
“Grian? We put down the anchor. Doc wants you to get ready.”
Grian took a deep breath at the sound of Etho’s voice from outside and slowly put his knife down. The disorientation from having just woken up disappeared again.
“I’ll be out in a minute.”
When Grian stepped on the deck, the others were already busy unloading some wares to sell off and he immediately went over to help, when Doc stepped into his path.
“Not today. They can handle that, Grian. I really need someone to… accompany me into town and I’d like for you to come along.”
Grian knew what Doc was doing. He rarely let Grian go anywhere on his own, let alone have him somewhere out of his sight when they were off the Golden Goat. And it annoyed Grian that he went along with it every time. He never once went against Doc’s orders, no matter how stupid they sometimes were. But he felt safest when he was with Doc. No one else made him feel this way. That still didn’t stop him from arguing.
“You know that you don’t really need me. I won’t be in any danger here. My Captain let me go to town alone all the time.”
Grian noticed the way Doc flinched a bit and then he realised that he had slipped up… Again.
“I am your Captain, Grian.” Doc’s voice was so gentle, but Grian still felt a tremble running through his body as if he had been reprimanded. He had been part of the crew for a while now. He still referred to his old Captain as his Captain far too often. He still referred to himself as a navy officer sometimes… And he had never once called Doc his Captain. He knew Doc had noticed… He had even once overheard Doc talking to Ren about it. He knew Doc blamed himself when Grian slipped up like that, thinking he wasn’t making Grian feel as a part of the crew.
“Sorry”, he muttered quietly and as an apology – and maybe as a way to change the topic - added on, “I’ll accompany you. We can leave right now, if you want to.“
Doc‘s face lit up a bit, but Grian could see the way his smile was strained just a little. They were both trying their best, but everything was still too new to work flawlessly. Grian really hoped he‘d get used to this sooner rather than later. It had been his decision after all. He had wanted this… Well, at least he thought that way. Doc always pretended that Grian hadn’t had any other choice. Maybe that was the reason he thought Grian didn‘t feel like he belonged. And maybe sometimes… Maybe sometimes he really didn’t.
“Let‘s go then”, Doc said and started walking, Grian right behind him as they moved down to the port. “This is a pretty neutral area, so They didn’t have to worry much. The navy doesn‘t drop by often and when they do, they never really get into fights. They are too scared to lose business here if they anger the traders. The traders got good wares and money and pirates are among their best customers.”
They walked past a lot of people hurrying around. The port was buzzing with activity, ships leaving and arriving, wares being loaded, repairs being made. It was chaos, but it was a chaos Grian was used to. Seeing everyone run around, busy with their own life made him feel calmer. Nobody was paying any attention to him and Doc. They weren’t a feared pirate Captain and a traitorous navy officer here. They were just two more people walking through the streets
“So…”, Grian started when they left the port, moving on to the streets of the town, passing by some vendors trying to sell their wares. “What exactly are we doing here?”
“Oh, just some old acquaintance of mine I need to visit. She sells information, for a certain price, you know? I think she likes me enough. I never have to pay too much to get what I want.”
“So… You hussle her.”
Doc smirked slightly, taking the accusation almost like a compliment. “Well not exactly. I‘m just really good at bargaining, you know? I can be pretty convincing if I want to be. I also always try to get some nice jewelry for her. She likes that.”
Grian rolled his eyes a bit and turned his gaze back to the street. They were getting further away from the main road. The shops were becoming more run down, the wares in the window getting more and more illegal and Grian was pretty sure they had entered a blackmarket area.
He had been in those areas a lot back in the navy, but wearing his uniform, people had always been scared by him, trying to hide their more exotic and expensive items, seeing him as a threat to their business. Now everyone was looking at them with a calculating expression, some even trying to approach them with their wares. Doc made them all back away with one glance.
They turned another corner, the house fronts becoming even more broken, some of the vendors only using small blankets on the floor to show their wares. Finally, right in the middle of the street, in front of a black wooden door, Doc came to a halt.
Grian looked at the building. It was small, the windows were covered with fabric on the inside. The glass had countless cracks and he wondered how it was still holding together. The black paint of the door must have been newer than the house and window, since it was the only thing not completely run down, only chipping off in a few places.
“This looks really welcoming. I‘m glad you took me along after all. Wouldn‘t want you here all by yourself.”
Doc glanced at Grian and shrugged. “I‘ve been alone here a lot before, don‘t worry. It‘s safe. She wants me to stay her customer after all.” Doc stopped, smiling sheepishly, probably remembering how he‘d told Grian that he needed him here. “It‘s still a good idea not to wander around here alone in case something does happen. You never know. And you’re one of my best fighters after all.”
Grian chuckled quietly and motioned Doc to go on, not even commenting on the rambling. Doc sighed and turned back to the door, knocking a few times in what might have been a pattern or a code… Or maybe just Doc being extra again.
There were steps on the other side and then a small window inside the door slid open. Gray eyes stared at Doc, then at Grian and back to Doc, squinting slightly, showing the deep wrinkles around them even more clearly.
“Doc. Didn‘t I tell you not to show your ass around here again?” A voice croaked at them, sounding really pissed off.
“Well nice to see you too! It‘s been so long! I brought you a present.”
The eyes snapped to Grian and seemed to take him in from head to toes. He shuddered below the almost invasive stare. “Didn’t take you as that kind of guy, Captain Doc. You know he‘s too old to sell. Although, given the right customer I might…”
Grian could practically feel the air around them getting darker as Doc growled in annoyance or maybe anger.
“You won‘t put your grimy hands on him. He‘s part of my crew. If you so much as touch him our business here is over.”
“As if I have ever wanted to do business with you, Doc.”, she grumbled and the small window slammed shut. Grian thought that would be it. Doc had managed to piss her off enough for her to cut ties, but a second later the door opened and the old lady stood in front of them. She was wearing a dusty worn out dress that had probably seen better days once upon a time.
She was still glaring at Doc, but then stepped aside to let them pass. When Doc had walked by her, she turned her eyes to Grian and her mouth twisted into a smile that sent shivers down his spine. He hurriedly went after Doc and inside the room. It was dark in here and the air reeked of dust and mold. There was barely any light, except for a few torches lining the walls.
The walls were covered in dark dusty fabric. The room was lined with shelves containing a missmatch of items. There were books and maps, things floating in glasses. Grian really didn‘t want to look too close at them. He was pretty sure he’d seen some body parts.
In the middle of the room stood a desk and the lady wobbled past them again to sit on the other side of it.
“So, Captain. What can I do for you? Treasure Maps? Love potion for your Navy toy?”
Doc flinched at the last part and Grian‘s eyes widened.
“How did you know?”, Doc‘s voice seemed calm, but Grian could tell how tense he was from the way he sounded.
“Word gets around my boy. Some say you seduced a Navy soldier to join you, others say you fell for him and kidnapped him to have your wicked way with him. Poor boy in the claws of a horrible pirate, who doesn‘t care for anything but his own pleasure and not the well being of-“
“I‘m perfectly fine!”, Grian interrupted her, hands balled into fists. He‘d seen the shadow crossing Doc‘s face. He knew Doc still blamed himself for everything that had happened. He wouldn‘t have some old lady berating him. “I joined his crew because I wanted to, because he was there for me when the navy wasn‘t, because the navy is a bunch of arseholes. So stop your stupid gossiping. He hasn’t kidnapped anyone.“
The old lady‘s eyes stayed on Grian for a while and then she smiled softly, her eyes becoming more gentle.
“Oh. So it‘s you after all. I thought so. You don‘t look like you belong here. You look far too proper to mingle among pirates and us low lifes.“ She clapped twice and out of one of the dark corners stepped a young girl.
Doc squinted his eyes at her, looking uncomfortable at the presence of a mere child. “I thought you worked alone.”
“I‘m not getting any younger, my boy. I took on an assistant. But don‘t worry. I‘ll send her away while we do business”, she said, scribbling something on a piece of paper with an old worn quill before handing it to the small girl. She couldn‘t have been more than 10 years old. „Go fetch this for me, dearie. Hurry along. You don‘t have all day. I want you back by the time these two gentlemen leave.”
The child nodded, not ever speaking up and just hurried out of the room. Grian looked after her and then sighed, turning back to the old woman.
“So, Captain Doc, I heard you came bearing gifts? If it‘s nice enough I might consider listening to your questions. Not promising any answers though.”
Doc didn‘t look too happy, but he took out a small bag out of his pocket, throwing it onto the desk. With a sudden burst of speed the old lady grabbed the bag, tearing it open and turning it around, a few necklaces and bejewled rings fell out. She looked at them for a while and from the sparkle in her eyes Grian could tell that she was very happy with her present, even when she tried to keep an emotionless face.
“Well. At least these don‘t look as pitiful as the last ones you brought me. They are almost halfway decent. I will listen to you, but I can‘t promise you any help. For a gift this cheap I‘ll only do it if I want to and if it‘s not too much trouble.”
“I need information. I need to know about a pirate raid. 10 years ago on Gedwyld
Island. Pirates attacked a small seemingly unimportant village. They were ordered by someone else to attack. It was no accident that those pirates were on the island that day. I need to know who was behind the attack. And I want to know why they attacked. Who was ordering them to do it?”
Grian‘s head snapped towards Doc, eyes going wide. He had thought that Doc would just ask for some maps or some inside information for the navy, not this. Why was Doc interested in his childhood home? Was Doc doing this for him? What would having this information even achieve?
“That is quite a lot of questions, my boy.”
The old lady looked at Doc in deep thought. Her eyes darted to one of the clocks hanging on the wall. Grian followed her gaze, the time on that one seemed off. According to the clock it was just a few minutes after noon, when it was already late noon. When he kept staring at it for a while he realized that the hand was going backwards. Huh… Weird.
“It is. If you have answers, I will reward you of course. If you don‘t have the information I‘ll pay you a small fee to gather them and we will return in a month to collect them.”
The old lady looked thoughtful, nodding slowly before turning around in her chair and grabbing a heavy old looking book from the shelf behind her. Her eyes darted to the clock once more. The hand had moved back another minute. She started to slowly flip through the pages, taking her time to trace the lines with her finger before flipping to the next.
Grian could tell Doc was getting impatient next to him. He kept tapping his foot on the floor, clenching and unclenching his fists. And Grian could relate to this restless feeling.
“Well it looks like you will need a while, old hag. So how about we leave now and-”
“No! Stay!” The urgency in her voice startled Grian. Doc next to him raised an eyebrow.
“If you‘re so worried about losing business you should hurry up. I‘m a busy man. My ship doesn‘t run itself.”
The clock ticked backwards another minute and when the old lady looked at it again, she smiled in satisfaction.
“Ah, well. Looks like it‘s too late now anyways. It was a pleasure doing business with you, Captain, but the navy just pays so much better. You really shouldn‘t have pissed them off, taking one of their little stars into your greedy hands. They apparently had big plans for him. Plans that are worth a fortune.“
Doc‘s hand immediately flew to his sword, Grian had his in hand already, when the door burst open. Grian's heart immediately sank. Two navy officers stood in the door, the little girl right behind them, pointing a shaky finger in their direction.
"Surrender, Captain Doc!", the first navy officer shouted, glaring at Doc, before his gaze turned to Grian and he sneered. "Oh, how the mighty have fallen, haven't they, Lieutenant?"
Grian tightened his grip on the sword, casting a short glance in Doc's direction. Those two soldiers would be no problem for them, but Grian really didn't want to hurt them too badly. He knew he shouldn't think of them any different than all his other enemies, but it was still so hard. Seeing the uniforms sure triggered something inside him, but it also held him back. Fighting alongside people wearing those outfits had been too ingrained into his head.
"Well. I won't. I don't see the need to surrender to some poor weaklings like you", Doc replied, talking down to those navy officers with a smirk, but Grian could tell that he was worried from the way his fingers twitched a little. He got why Doc felt tense like that. They were still far away from the ship and didn't know how many navy officers were rushing over to their location right now. They were in danger and couldn’t tell how much would be thrown their way.
"Oh, there is some incentive for surrendering, you know. If you two surrender we won't hurt the traitor. The higher ups still have some use for the cursed child. But if you decide to fight I really can't guarantee for his safety. You know things happen in the heat of the battle. I never liked Lieutenant Grian that much. My blade could accidentally run through him and-"
The officer stopped, when Grian snorted loudly and turned to glare at him.
"Oh please, Henry. You couldn't hit a pirate dummy if it stood right in front of you back in our academy days. It's a wonder they let someone like you graduate."
Just as Grian had expected of his hot headed opponent, he let out an enraged scream and charged forward without putting any thought into his action, blade outstretched to pierce Grian.
“Idiot”, Grian just whispered with a smirk and ducked under the blade, grabbing the arm of the soldier and throwing him over his shoulder onto the old lady‘s desk. „Let‘s leave, Doc. We need to get back to the crew!“
Doc looked at the fallen soldier and then at him and nodded, before charging the remaining officer. Doc‘s blade pierced right through him and Grian winced as a cold shiver ran down his back, seeing blood pour over the white shirt of the navy uniform. Every fiber inside of him wanted to help the officer falling down. This was his comrade. This was a law abiding citizen. He should help. He could help. He needed to save him. But when Doc grabbed his arm, Grian averted his gaze from the body, looking into Doc‘s worried eyes.
“You good?”
Doc knew. Doc always knew. That was the reason he never let Grian fight alongside them when it came to going against the navy even though he‘d been with them for a month now.
“Yes. Just…” Grian motioned around them to the fallen officers, though the one Grian had attacked was mostly uninjured and just unconscious. “It‘s… Those are people I went to the academy with. Takes time getting used to. I’m just glad they aren‘t part of my crew and I don‘t have to fight my capt-“
Grian stopped himself, but he could still see the look of hurt flashing over Doc‘s face, before Doc turned away, dropping his hand from Grian‘s arm. “Let‘s hurry along.”
They pushed past the little girl and stepped outside the shop. Grian could hear shouts in the distance that were pretty unmistakably navy soldiers screaming out orders. A lot of the vendors along the streets were suddenly in a hurry, trying to hide parts of their wares.
The shouts were coming from the direction they had arrived from - the direction leading back to the port. Grian just prayed that the navy hadn‘t gotten to the Golden Goat yet. Not that he didn‘t trust Ren to take command and defend the ship, but it would just complicate things.
Before Grian could decide what to do, Doc had grabbed his wrist, pulling him along into one of the side alleys. Grian rushed along, but his eyes kept darting to the hand touching him. These last weeks, Doc had done his best to avoid any form of prolonged touch to give Grian space. Almost all of the contact they‘ve had, had been initiated by Grian. And not once since the rescue from… not once had Doc pulled him along by his hand.
They turned another corner. Doc cast a glance back at him and noticed the way Grian looked at the hand, letting go immediately.
“Sorry. We needed to hurry. I didn’t think… I shouldn‘t have done that.“
“It‘s fine. Let‘s keep going. Take the lead and I‘ll follow you.”
Doc nodded and started running again, Grian hot on his trail. Doc made his way swiftly through the tiny alleys, jumping over more than one wall and Grian went after him, trusting him blindly. Doc knew these streets far better than him after all. The port was getting closer. Grian could see the mast of the Golden Goat in the distance, recognizing it among all the other ships even from this far away.
“We have to turn onto the main road next. Be prepared for an attack once we do“, Doc called back and Grian adjusted the grip on his sword. He was ready for anything the world would throw at him.
Well… Everything but a navy officer jumping down from a roof of one of the houses framing the alley, landing right between them, making Grian stop in his tracks. Doc kept running into the main road a few metres before he finally realised that Grian wasn‘t behind him anymore. It was too late. A few soldiers stepped in between the two of them. Grian tried to search for a way around his opponent, but two others stepped up to him and he needed to back away a few steps, to get out of their weapons‘ reach.
“Grian! Fuck! Don‘t you assholes dare touch him. If you so much as lay a finger on him, I‘m gonna rip you apart, limb by limb!”, Doc shouted from down the street, but going from how far away his voice sounded he had also been pushed back a bit. There was no way they could help each other like this.
Those soldiers must have planned to seperate them. He just hoped that Doc would do the smart thing and rush back to the ship, even if that meant leaving Grian alone here. The crew‘s support would be so important now.
Grian had been in a lot of battles before. Alot of those battles had not been in his favour and he’d still come out victorious. He’d seen more than his fair share of fights, for someone his age. But this? This felt different. He wasn’t wearing his uniform anymore. He wasn’t fighting with the law behind him anymore.
This wasn’t even their first fight against a navy crew, but Doc had always kept him on the back line when things like that happened. Grian was pretty sure he would have put him below deck if he thought Grian would go along with it. In the short fight earlier he had been able to knock his opponent out, but if he held back here, he‘d lose.
Grian‘s eyes kept darting between his opponents, holding his sword protectively in front of himself, waiting for an attack or maybe an opening for him to get rid of one already. A fight against all of them at once would be impossible.
“You really have fallen far. Look at yourself…“, one of the officers said. Grian thought he recognized him from somewhere, but couldn‘t really pinpoint it, until… “Captain Sam was really sad to see you leave. You were such an entertaining guest.”
Grian froze for a second, hearing that name and realizing that the man in front of him was part of Sam‘s crew. That guy had been there when Sam had sold him out. Was Sam here as well? Grian felt his heart rate increase at the thought alone, his eyes darting around.
The officer smirked at Grian‘s reaction and jumped forward. Grian raised his own sword just in time to block the attack, eyes wide, arm shaking a bit from the impact he hadn‘t been prepared to take.
“It was a good look on you, Grian, tied up, beaten and bleeding. It made me want to do bad things to you. You‘ve always been so high and mighty. Watching Sam break you… It was like a work of art. Such a pity someone managed to put the pieces back together. I liked you more when you were a little puppet”, his opponent whispered, voice too quiet for the others to hear. Grian tried to tune it all out. He knew those words were meant to distract him from the fight and he shouldn‘t let it get to him. It had been so long. He was better now. He was with Doc now. He was safe. Doc had promised to protect him, no matter what. He needed Doc. He needed to get to Doc.
The muscles in Grian‘s arm tensed and he let his sword strike, pushing his attacker stumbling back, right into one of the other guys. Grian turned his attention to the third soldier. He looked younger than the other two and his uniform was less decorated as well. Grian almost felt bad, but he knew he couldn‘t hold back… He really really shouldn‘t hold back.
His sword flew through the air, past the other blade and cutting deep into the soldier‘s shoulder. The young man screamed and dropped his sword and Grian jumped back again, before the others could attack. He was holding back. He could have - no - he should have gone for the neck. He could have killed him with one attack. But he had hesitated, repositioning his blade just a bit before it could hit.
Why was he risking his own life for someone who was ready to kill him without a second thought? He shouldn’t be hesitating. “I won’t die here today.”
The two soldiers glared at him, one rushing to their fallen comrade, pulling him back, away from Grian. That left only him and the guy from Sam’s ship.
“No you won’t die. The order is to take you alive. Operation Cursed Child will begin once you’re returned to the headquarters.”
Grian looked at his opponent in confusion, but didn’t get the time to ponder on what he had said for too long. A blade came flying his way. Their swords kept clashing together and Grian had to admit that his opponent was a skilled fighter, but he also knew that he was better. He would win. He could end this. He didn’t even need to kill. He wouldn’t have to harm a navy soldier. He could just disarm him. He had the upper hand. He only needed a little more time to-
There was a loud scream. A loud and pain filled scream. Grian knew that voice, but he had never heard it like that. And when his eyes searched the entrance to their alley, he saw Doc fall to the floor, lying on the ground face first, a foot on his back, a blade at his neck.
Something snapped.
“Oh, looks like your little pirate is-”
His opponent never got to finish his sentence as Grian’s blade pierced right through his eyeball into his brain. Blood sprayed as he pulled it back out, but Grian didn’t care, rushing forward. The second soldier tried to block his way, but Grian stabbed him right through the abdomen, before kicking him off his sword to the ground.
Someone bent down to Doc, handcuffs ready and Grian screamed.
“Get your dirty hands off of my Captain!”
His shout made the soldier above Doc snap up again, scrambling for his sword, but he was too late. Grian’s blade was already cutting deep into his chest. Now Grian stood above Doc, sword raised, turning around slowly, surrounded by soldiers. He let out a low growl, glaring at each and every one of them.
“You hurt my Captain and I will kill you.”
Grian knew they were heavily outnumbered, even when Doc slowly got to his feet again, standing back to back with Grian. Still the soldiers didn‘t attack, watching them with wary eyes. Grian felt dread rise inside of him. They wouldn‘t make it out alive… No. He would. For whatever reason they still needed him. But Doc wouldn‘t. They‘d kill Doc.
Images flashed in front of Grian‘s mind. Doc‘s head on a block, an axe raised above him, flying down and-
A warm touch on his hand snapped Grian out of his thoughts and he just now realised that he had been shaking. He didn‘t need to look down to know that the hand gently holding his was Doc‘s. It was funny how one small touch calmed Grian down so much and helped him focus again. One simple touch made him feel so safe and warm. Ever since Doc had saved him that first time, holding that hand made him feel like no harm would come to him.
„Let‘s go out with a bang, love“, Doc said and his voice was so soft despite their current situation.
Grian just nodded and pressed Doc‘s hand with his own to show him the same support. Someone shouted an order from the back row. Grian let his hand slip out of Doc‘s grasp, but the feeling of safety stayed as he faced the fight.
They would lose. They would fall, but they would give those guys one hell of a fight. They wouldn‘t go down without taking some of their opponents along with them.
Everyone was waiting, all muscles tensed. People around them were looking at them curiously. Suddenly one of the soldiers surged forward and the spell seemed to be broken. Grian barely had time to move, blocking one attack after the other, sword always making it just in time. He didn‘t pay attention to the things happening behind him. He knew his back was as safe as it could be and it filled him with determination. If he could at least hold them long enough for Doc to get away. They didn‘t want to kill him and the way they fought showed just that. There was just a slight bit of hesitance in the attacks. He could use that to his advantage.
Grian pressed on further, giving even more, fighting harder, deflecting attacks and starting counter attacks. He managed to hit one of them across the face, drawing a loud almost inhuman yell as the soldier stepped back, but his place was already taken by another one.
He growled and kept fighting. He stopped attack after attack, but then he heard a pained sound behind him. He shouldn’t turn around. He needed to stay focused. He heard a blade clattering to the floor, far too close for it to be one of the enemies. Grian turned his head just slightly, to see Doc go down to his knees, to the floor, holding one hand to his bleeding shoulder, a sword at his throat.
Grian screamed, a shout tearing from his throat that didn’t even sound human to his own ears. He hit the blade on Doc’s neck so hard, he sent it flying into the head of another soldier.
“Don’t. Ever. Touch. Him.”
Grian glared at them, looming over Doc. They seemed to hesitate for a second, but the attacks kept coming again. Grian was able to deflect them, but as more kept coming from the front, he left his back open and suddenly he was grabbed by the shoulders, sword slipping from his grasp, as he was pulled back. Grian struggled, digging his heels into the ground, as he was pulled away from Doc.
Doc stared at him, trying to jump up, but suddenly there were hands on him as well, digging into his wound. Doc froze and it didn’t take long to chain his hands behind his back. Grian suddenly felt the anger leave him and fear settle in. He couldn’t lose Doc. He couldn’t. Not now when he had finally decided to stay by his side.
And then something else started to rise inside of Grian. Suddenly he felt a primal rage inside. He looked at Doc and ground his teeth. Those soldiers were taking what was his. He closed his eyes and felt it. The same feeling he had felt under the sea when the siren had dragged Doc down below. The same energy was running through him. And he knew when he would open his mouth now he’d hurt everyone who was able to hear him, soldier and civilian alike. He didn’t even know why he knew, he just did. Everyone would fall. Just not Doc. Never Doc. He had to save his mate.
He took a breath, opening his eyes. He could hear Doc gasp in shock. He must have noticed some change in Grian.
“Grian… Don’t!”
Grian opened his mouth.
A loud shot rang through the street, before one sound left him, startling Grian out of his trance like state. He blinked a few times, every trace of the energy gone again. He looked around in confusion, searching for the source of that sound. The shot had been far too loud to be a simple gun. And that‘s when he saw it. The sails of the Golden Goat behind the crowd of navy soldiers. There was a smoking hole in the ground a couple of metres from them, navy soldiers rushing away to pull injured people to safety.
“Back off or we will kill you all! No hesitation.“
Ren‘s voice was booming loud. People around them started panicking. There were screams and chaos.
And then Grian could hear steps rushing towards them and when he looked over he saw Doc‘s crew charging in, False right there at the front of them, her eyes filled with fury and a promise of pain.
Someone was pulling at him, trying to take him away. Grian dug his heels into the ground, but soon another pair of arms grabbed him and he stumbled backwards. His eyes searched for Doc in the chaos. He felt a heavy weight lift off his chest, when he realised that False was already by his side, her bloody sword raised as some other crew member was taking the chains off of their captain.
He kept getting further and further away. They were trying to pull him to one of the alleys and out of sight.
Grian opened his mouth to scream, but as soon as he did that someone shoved a dirty rag in between his lips. Grian only renewed his struggles, managing to land a few kicks on the two people holding him, but they didn‘t ease their hold on him.
He looked at Doc in desperation, trying to alert him that Grian was taken away in the chaos and panic. And as if Doc had sensed his terror, his gaze snapped up, searching and finally landing on Grian. His eyes widened for a second and then he smiled relieved. With just that one smile Grian immediately felt safe again. He didn‘t even have to wonder what would happen next. Doc smiling like that meant there was no danger for Grian.
There was a loud thud and one of the bodies holding him crumbled to the floor. Grian looked over his shoulder, only to see Etho, smiling softly at him, before he put a knife through the other soldier’s back. The hands holding Grian disappeared along with the enemy falling to the ground.
“You alright, new guy?“
Grian nodded and raised his shaking hands to take the cloth from his mouth, throwing it to the ground in disgust. “Yeah. All good. Thanks. You can go and give your medical expertise to our captain now.“
Etho's eyes widened a bit and then he smiled even brighter. “I see, it‘s no longer just ‘your captain‘ now. Welcome to the crew, Grian.“
Grian rolled his eyes, following Etho over to Doc who was already unchained and arguing with False who had thrown him over her shoulder.
“I can walk on my own!”
“You are wounded.“
“On my fucking shoulder! My legs work perfectly fine!”
“Struggle and I will change that.”
Grian laughed a bit at False‘s deadpan voice, until her gaze turned to him. “Don‘t think I have forgotten that both of you idiots got yourself into that situation. If you so much as smirk, I will carry you as well, boy. I‘ve got two shoulders after all.”
Grian felt the urge to salute, but just nodded and tried his best not to smile. No one ever dared to argue with False when she took that tone, and Grian sure as hell wouldn‘t change that tradition.
They hurried to the ship and boarded, sails lowered the moment Etho in the back stepped aboard. None of them wanted to battle a navy ship, especially not now when their Captain was already injured.
“False. Carry Doc below deck“, Etho shouted over the busy deck and False nodded, leaving through the door already. Grian wanted to follow, but was stopped by Etho.
“Not you. I won’t let you get away without a check up this time. Do you have any injuries? Anything that needs my attention now?”
„Just sore. Maybe a few bruises“, Grian replied, „Worst thing happening to me is that I can‘t get rid of the taste of that darn dirty rag.“
Etho laughed, and after some fumbling around in his bag, pressed a flask into Grian‘s hand. “Here. That should help.“
Grian looked at Etho‘s retreating form, before taking one swig of the bottle. His throat burned and he scrunched up his face at the taste, deciding against taking even one more drop. But oh well… It had indeed replaced the rotten taste the rag had left in his mouth and any reminder of being almost kidnapped again.
~*~
Grian stood at the railing, watching the moon rise and the stars come out. He was alone at deck once more, having insisted on still doing his shift of the night watch. He wasn‘t really wounded. And he could use the peace and quiet to calm down.
A light wind was blowing, whipping around his hair. When had it gotten so long again? He pulled out one of the strings on his shirt and pulled his hair back, tying them together. It felt weird after all this time. Weird and freeing at the same time. As if a chapter of his life had ended.
There were steps behind him. Grian didn‘t have to turn around. The sound was all too familiar to him, even before he had joined this crew. All the other nights, he had stepped away. All of the previous nights, he had stopped things from progressing. He hadn‘t even waited for what had been to come. He had always walked away, the message pretty clear.
He waited.
The steps stopped behind him.
Grian turned around.
“Doc…”
Doc looked at him, hand raised, seemingly hesitating, clearly intending to put it on Grian‘s shoulder, but not daring to overstep any boundaries. So Grian took the step over that line. He moved forward and the hand was on his shoulder.
Doc‘s eyes widened for a second, but then he smiled softly.
“I was scared I‘d lose you again, Grian.”
“You were the one lying on the floor about to be taken to prison, you know.“
Doc chuckled softly. The hand moved from Grian‘s shoulder, giving him a small pat and then moving away again. Grian felt dissappointed at the sudden loss of contact.
“I know. You saved me, Grian.“
“I‘d do anything to keep you safe, Captain.“
“Say it again...”, Doc whispered, his eyes so close, Grian could see the way they sparkled, his gaze so soft.
“Captain”, Grian repeated just as quietly, feeling happiness at just uttering this single word. “My Captain.”
Doc breathed in shakily, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards. And he was so close. So close. The moon was high up in the sky, illuminating Doc's face. Doc's arms were moving, but he stopped and Grian could see how he resisted the urge to hug him. Always treating him like glass... Even now.
Grian took a hold of Doc's arm before he could lower it again and put it on his waist.
Grian moved forward, a sudden need to touch - to feel Doc - rising inside him. When their chests touched a second hand wound around him, joining the first on his back.
Grian smiled. He did feel some underlying nervousness. He felt his heart racing. He felt a slight urge to step back out of the embrace again. But above all of it - overshadowing all the other emotions - he felt safe.
"Grian. You don't have to..."
"I'm not doing this because I have to. I'm doing this because I want to. I... I should have done it way sooner. We live a dangerous life. Any day could be our last. Today could have been your last day. We both survived too much to let our worries stop us." Grian felt his heart beating in his throat as Doc finally tightened the embrace, and in return Grian put his arms around the other.
"Grian..." Doc smiled so brightly that it made Grian's heart only beat faster. He really should have done this sooner. He should have let Doc close again. Doc who had saved him, who had always been there for him and never expecting anything in return.
"I love you."
Doc's eyes widened, his mouth dropping open, before he closed it again, smiling even brighter than Grian had ever seen him smile.
„I love you too, Grian.“

@ask-the-becile-boys I did something with it! They’re in dire straights at Becile Manor but Skull’s got an idea on how to deal with it. If only he had ear plugs! (Scratch doesn’t seem to mind the noise though.)
They were low on funds, and even lower on parts to work with for repairs. They were used to barely getting by, but they were now one accident away from not being able to be repaired again. Skull couldn’t let that happen. Not if he could do something about it at least.
And he just might be able to. Or he hoped, for what good hope would do him. That chatterbox was willing to help before, he might get them to help again. They had said that the workers didn’t really take stock, who would notice some parts missing?
When he thought everyone was busy, Skull donned his jacket and hat to make his way across town. Only, knocking on a nearby wall got his attention. How Scratch called out without using what voice he had left.
He lowered his brows and waggled a finger by his head before pointing away with both hands then signed an S, pressing it to his chin like he was in thought. “Where are you going, Skull?”
Wrapping one hand around the other, he lifted it. “Out,” he explained before trying to leave. Another knock. Scratch was obviously concerned. He didn’t have to look to know he was signing to try and ask again.
Scratch put his thumb under his chin before moving both hands across his body to make fists. “It’s not safe.”
Without parts, they had been staying in, but they had to leave to get parts. They couldn’t just sit there and rot.
A heavy sigh and smoke curled around his face from his neck vents. He really didn’t want to talk about this, but he didn’t want Scratch to worry either. “I know a place where I might be able to get some parts. They helped me out before, I might be able to get them to again. Just enough to get us working.”
Scratch looked worried, Skull wasn’t known for making the best friends. Useful, sure, but not the best people, but then again, he supposed Skull wasn’t either, but he had always been good to him. He pointed at himself before placing a fist on his palm and seemed to offer it to Skull. “Can I help?” At least if he was there, someone would be there to help him, or at least make him be careful.
The Skull stood still a moment. He wasn’t sure he wanted to put Scratch through Bip’s questions. But having someone else there might be helpful if nothing else another eye to find good parts and carry some home. Not much, of course, he knew the man was in a lot of pain. “Fine,” he said eventually. “But stay close and put on a hoodie at least.”
A quick nod and Scratch was off to grab his stuff. California was a little warm for hoodies and jackets, but he had a light one just for such occasions. A light red one to try and help with the heat, and enough colour to block out his face with the hood up.
Not wanting any more followers, Skull waited outside. So long as no one noticed them, things would be fine.
If Bip didn’t want to help, at least he wouldn’t have to feel bad roughing them up a little. They’d be fine. So either way, they’d get their parts.
Once Scratch stepped out, he started walking, no point in waiting too long.
It was already late when they left, and after nightfall before they reached the scrapyard. Which worried Scratch. Looking at Skull, he put two fingers by his elbow and quickly ran them up to his lifted wrist. “Are we stealing?” He didn’t want to do that. But if they needed parts.
Skull shook his head and tapped his fore and middle fingers on his thumb. “Someone lives here. Going to try and get their help.” Walking up to the fence, he paused. It wasn’t like there was a front door to knock on. Well, he could try the front fence and see if they were there.
By the time the duo made it around, the fence was left wide open, only there was no one there. “Weird.” Out of instinct, Skull reached into his jacket for his gun. Keeping Scratch behind him, he slowly made his way inside. He remembered them talking about the green skinned men.
The storage room they used was open. Waving for Scratch to hang back, he peered into the room to see Bip sitting on the futon, tapping away at their phone. His shoulders slumped, and he relaxed. Or at least as much as he’d let himself here. “Saw us coming, I take it?”
Bip grinned widely and looked up, tucking away their phone. “Yep! Well, Spider did and had a fit. Figured it would be easier to open the door for you so the alarm wouldn’t go off.” Looking him up and down, their head tilted slightly. “You’re in better shape this time!” They chirped.
A long plume of smoke. “Yeah, had someone at home to fix me up.”
“Oh! Like Takoda! When I can’t do it myself, he helps me. He’s really nice,” they beamed. “I‘m glad you got home safe!” They chirped.
Before they could lay into him with more questions, he raised a hand. “Thanks, kid. But I’m afraid I’m here for another favour.”
They tilted their head the other way at that. Skull didn’t seem like the type. But they nodded a little. “I don’t know what I can do, but I can try?” They offered.
“Really, we just need you to turn a blind eye for a little while,” he explained. “We need parts.”
“We? The person that fixed you up?”
A long sigh. It was hard to keep things short with the kid. “Kinda.” Turning his head, he called out. “Scratch, come in here, will ya?”
Seeing Scratch step into the room, Bip’s eyes lit up. They were a person and a robot! That something they didn’t know could even be a thing!
Jumping up, they hurried over and leaned up on their toes to get a closer look at his face. “Hi! I didn’t know a person could be a robot. Or are you a robot that’s a person? Are you going to be all person or all robot? Is it a lot of work? Does it feel weird?”
Babbling away, Bip was too engrossed in their million questions to notice how uncomfortable Scratch was getting and how he started to recoil at the barrage.
Skull did notice. The patchwork bot was as excitable as last time. How anyone could talk that much was beyond him. Even Hare wasn’t that chatty. At least they weren’t malicious. Just annoying. Stepping up behind them, Skull put a hand over their mouth, and the other pressed down on Bip’s shoulder to try and keep them still. “Slow down, kid. You’re too fast for Scratch. Besides, that ain’t none of your business,” he reminded them.
Bip’s shoulders slumped. “Sorry,” they tried to mumble from behind Skull’s hand. He hadn’t let them go yet.
With a chance to breathe, Scratch relaxed. A little. He still needed a moment.
Opening his hand, Scratched tapped his thumb against his chest. “It’s okay,” he signed to Skull, trying to look at least a little chipper with what was left of his face.
Skull huffed when Bip started to excitedly wiggle again in his grip. They were asking questions again, not that anyone could understand them with his hand over their mouth. Of course, the kid would need a translator. This was going to be a long night.
Scratch’s shoulders shook. Figures he’d find it funny, thought Skull while he kept a hand tightly clamped over Bip’s mouth, trying to get them to calm down. Once the wiggling died down, he slowly let go.
“Do you need special parts for being part person? Or something for your voice box? I know there’s some old radios that came in today. Would something like work? Or is it your mouth that doesn’t work? It looks okay, but I-”
And Skull put the hand back over their mouth. “Kid, be quiet. Please.” More mumbling, and he huffed. Which finally made them stop. “Thank you.”
This time when he moved his hands away, Bip stayed silent. They looked between the two, waiting for an explanation. It looked like it took all of their willpower to keep their mouth shut.
Something Skull didn’t take for granted. And was quick to fill the silence to keep them from talking again. As much as he hated it.
“We don’t have what we need to keep us all running. There’s a few of us. We can’t afford what we need, and without it, we can’t work, got it?”
A sharp nod. “You guys need to take stuff from the yard without the humans finding out, right?” They asked, and beamed when Scratch nodded and signed the affirmative. They mimicked him. “That means yes, right? Like nodding your head.” When he did it again, they cheered.
At least Scratch seemed to be able to deal with them, if anything he was amused by the chatterbox, but he was better with people than Skull.
“Yeah. Was hopin’ you’d turn a blind eye and let us get some spare parts.”
Another nod. “Sure! Come on, I’ll help you look!” Picking up their friend, Bip grabbed Skull’s sleeve and tugged him along.
Skull stumbled a little as he was dragged along. Behind him, he could hear the electronic breaths from Scratch as he laughed. With a long sigh of smoke, Skull followed Bip into the yard. Not what he wanted, but he supposed the extra help would be good. Surely, they knew the yard better than anyone else.
And he was right! Bip knew every inch of the yard. They even knew how to find certain parts. “New cars cut down on a lot of things, but the older ones are great for parts. Joshua says it’s cuz they were built to last.” They pulled out some of the inner workings. “But they all still end up here in the end.”
While the lot of them were digging around, Scratch kept watching Spider on Bip’s shoulder. Eventually, he tapped Bip’s other shoulder. Putting one hand over the other, he mimed them crawling away before pointing away from his body with both hands.
Of course, Bip was clueless and looked to Skull for help.
“He’s asking where you found that Spider,” he explained, not seeming to even look at them.
“Oh! He came on a lead crate, I think,” they chirped, picking up said Spider to show him off. “He had a broken green light back then though. Like Skull! But his made him sick so I fixed him,” they explained.
Scratch looked worriedly at Skull, but the robot just shook his head not to say anything. They both knew what that meant. He could ask later. The last thing they needed was Becile Industries to find them now.
After a little more time and a lot more digging, they had enough parts to last them a little while. At least long enough for Skull to get some work in.
“Thanks, kid, you really saved us here.”
Bip beamed as they helped pack up the last of their load. It wasn't enough that anyone would notice, so they didn’t care. “Of course! It just sits around or gets melted down, may as well put it to good use! I can’t do it all the time, but if you need help, I can try,” they excitedly chirped.
Scratch’s shoulders shook. Looking at Skull he brought a hand to his mouth before moving it to lay palm up on his other hand then linked his two pointers together. “Bip’s a good friend,” he told him, eyes closing happily.
Which just made Skull huff. This was twice now Bip had bailed him out. He owed a debt and he wasn’t sure how he was going to pay this one off. They didn’t seem real eager for something in return, but that didn’t mean there wouldn’t be something.
While Scratch taught them 'thank you' and 'your welcome', Skull shouldered the heaviest of the load. “Come on, Scratch. We got a long walk to get home.”
Waving Bip off, the two stepped out to head back to the manor. Riker would have a lot to do come morning.
Scratch curled a finger and pointed it down, then he flipped it palm up and brought it to his chest before wiggling his fingers in front of his mouth. “Should invite Bip.”
A burst of coal smoke. “To what? Sit around and listen to Jack laugh at himself? Or let Locksmith get his grubby little claws on them?”
He looked down at that. The manor really wasn’t the best place for guests, but still. Pointing away and across his body, Scratch circled his face and brought a finger to and down from his lip twice. “They look lonely,” he explained while they walked. It wasn’t his place, but he knew what it was like to be alone, and what could happen.

Diabolik lovers Lunatic Parade: Carla Tsukinami (Chapter 4)
Surprise! Dear @pjpammee & anonymous askers, I have heard your requests about doing Carla’s route and I hope this makes you happy! (๑و•̀ω•́)و [Honestly, if anyone still has someone they want me to translate from Lunatic Parade in the future, please type an anon ask and I will definitely see it!]
Place: Bernstein castle — Inside
*alarm goes off*
Yui: —Nn!
(I woke up right on time… it must be naturally a good day since I‘ve got to work really hard today)
(At the worst possible time it‘s not only the very last day of the parade… it also seems to be the day Carla-san‘s petrification reaches its final stage)
Carla: —Did you wake up?
Yui: Kyaaa!?
Carla: Why are you being astonished? Did the both of us not go to bed together?
Yui: W-We did, you‘re right… but, um… you‘re being a little too close right now…
Carla: Hmph… I was simply getting a proper view over your sleeping face.
Yui: Eh!?
Carla: You slept while grinning broadly. Did you have some sort of nice dream while sleeping?
Yui: I smirked, you say… please don‘t do such a thing as observing each and everything I do while I‘m not aware of it… !
(This is so embarrassing… !)
Carla: I was merely waking up earlier than you, which is why I am not to blame for this, am I?
If we stay in bed together this way, even if you believe it is unpleasant, I will happen to catch a sight of your face either way.
It is absurd requesting for me not to observe you like this then.
Yui: W-Well then, this bed is now yours—
*Yui tries to escape*
Carla: I will not permit that. Nn…
Yui: Nn… but… otherwise—
Carla: I would never lose interest in examining your sleeping face. I want you to show it to me freely.
Yui: B-But… !!
*Yui pushes him away*
Carla: What? Do you want to go already?
Yui: We have to get that jewel back as soon as possible, in order to have Aji-san make the antidote since she can‘t make it without it.
Carla: Do not panic. You are being way too hasty at this hour.
Yui: Even if you say so…
I can‘t stay here carefreely and do nothing either way. Please, let's start moving as quickly as possible.
Carla: Haa… it cannot be helped. I will get dressed up then.
*Carla starts changing*
Yui: (Carla-san seems to be awfully leisurely about this situation… he almost behaves as if nothing ever happened…)
(He might be acting differently since he‘s having the abilities of the founder‘s king… but I, on the contrary, feel rather uneasy about this all…)
Carla: —Let us go.
Yui: Yes!
Place: Demon World — Glimmer Main Street
Yui: Hm? Carla-san… isn‘t this a different route from usual? If I recall, the underground corridor isn‘t on that way—
Carla: You simply remain silent and follow me.
Yui: ...Uhh… but…
Carla: …..
Yui: (Aren‘t we heading towards the exact opposite direction of our destination… ? Carla-san, just what are you thinking?)
Place: Demon World — Saint nore park street
Yui: —Okay, and why did we come to this place?
Carla: There is only one possible thing you can do here.
Yui: Please wait for me! Carla-san… don‘t tell me your intentions were to come hither and then enjoy yourself?
Carla: I did intend on doing that.
Yui: ...Nn… don‘t you think it would be better to do so after you took the antidote?
Carla: I cannot. We have to do it now.
Yui: …..!?
(What on earth is your plan about… ?)
(I don‘t think this has anything to do with getting closer to obtaining the antidote either…)
Carla: Anyhow, you only have to follow my plan.
Yui: (Even if he says it like that… what is there to do?)
Choices
1) Obey him♡♡♡
2) Tell him to get the stone back first
— Obey him♡
Yui: (But I‘m pretty sure Carla-san must've thought of something like a plan before coming here though)
(I made up my mind, I‘ll believe in Carla-san being absolutely fine, doing whatever he came up with… I do believe him, so—)
Alright, understood.
Carla: Good to know.
*Carla comes closer*
Carla: —You merely have to continue following me.
Yui: Yes…
— Tell him to get the stone back first
Yui: Carla-san, this situation isn‘t only about enjoying yourself, you know? We need to seriously hurry up and get this jewel back.
Carla: ...Are you judging my opinion?
Yui: I, um…
Carla: I told you to simply follow me. Come!
*Carla grabs Yui*
Yui: Ouch… !
(I think I made him angry by saying something like this…)
Place: Saint Nore Park — Coffee cup
Carla: —What on earth is this?
Yui: ...U-Um, let‘s see… I think this is an attraction called “coffee cup”…
You use the handle in the middle to increase or decrease the speed of the cup you‘re riding in…
With this you‘re supposed to control it and therefore avoid hitting the other surrounding cups…
Carla: I see. This playground equipment is supposed to make you enjoy the speed.
Yui: Exactly.
*Carla gets closer*
Yui: Hm… Carla-san?
Carla: Get on.
Yui: Ehh!?
Carla: You shall join me.
Yui: P-Please wait a moment. Are you being serious?
Carla: ...Are you doubting me?
Yui: I-It‘s not like that…
(What am I supposed to say… to be honest, I didn‘t really think Carla-san would be interested in getting on that sort of thing…)
(Instead, I thought he‘d seem like a person who dislikes this kind of place…)
Carla: —Hey, come in quickly. It appears to start moving soon.
Yui: Y-Yes, I‘m coming!
(...I don‘t think there‘s anything helping us about this… I guess I have no other choice but to enjoy it for now)
— If you win: (+CG)♡
Yui: —Fufu… I really did a good job not bumping into something, don‘t you think?
Carla: Indeed. You were handling this quite skillful.
Yui: Thank you!
(I‘m really glad Carla-san praises me for even trivial things like that)
— If you lose:
Yui: Nn…
Carla: My, My… it appears as if you truly are not good at turning away from hitting the other objects.
Yui: Nn… I‘m sorry…
Carla: It is fine. You may have been able to enjoy yourself a little.
Yui: —Yes, I did…
(But I actually wanted to show him what I‘m really capable of…)
end Game
Carla: Hmph…
Yui: What‘s wrong?
Carla: I was wondering if I could make you feel relaxed with doing this.
Yui: Eh?
Carla: You may have not noticed it yourself, but you have been persistently showing a stiff face ever since you woke up.
Yui: I-I‘m sorry… I didn‘t even notice if I did show an unpleasant face...
Carla: Whatever. Anyway, I truly hope this has relaxed you for at least a little bit. Let us continue.
*Carla leaves*
Yui: Ah! Please wait for me!!
(Speaking of which, I don‘t know if I really feel better… but I now know Carla-san actually does care about this whole situation)
(I know it‘s way more difficult to enjoy yourself while being in a hurry though...)
Place: Underground corridor
Carla: —Is this truly the place the twins usually stay at?
Yui: Yes, at least Aji-san said so.
Carla: Let us continue then. These vampire twins, or even just a companion of them, should be discovered right away once we proceed searching.
Yui: I think so too. Let‘s go on.
*time passes*
Carla: Here…
Yui: What should we do now?
Carla: They might think I am here for an attack. Even if I am no threat, they might try to run away when seeing me.
Yui: In that case, I‘ll try my luck….
*Yui knocks on their house*
Yui: —Excuse me. Is anyone in there right now?
*Yui knocks again*
Yui: ...Nobody seems to be inside.
Carla: ...No, that is not it. Even if you cannot see it with your eyes, I will not be tricked by something as simple as that.
They are inside, but they pretend to be out.
Yui: ….. !
*Yui knocks again*
Yui: Please! If you‘re inside there, please come out! We have something important to talk about!
*Yui knocks again*
Yui: —Please, open up!
Nn… it‘s no use...
Carla: —It cannot be helped then.
*Carla charges magic*
Yui: Carla-san!?
Carla: If they show rough behaviour, so will I—
Yui: Whatever the circumstances, you can‘t do that! They're having children inside there after all!
Carla: Even though they are children, is it not true that they were the ones silently stealing the gem, and now they are cowardly barricading themselves?
If so, they are splendid thieves indeed. But they will not be forgiven.
*Carla continues charging magic*
Yui: P-Please! Open up for us! Otherwise we have to—
Twin Children Vampire A: ….. !
Twin Children Vampire B: O-Our house… please don‘t break it… !
*Carla continues charging magic*
Carla: ...You two, show yourselves. You were the ones quietly stealing the melted stone from the shop, is that right?
Twin Children Vampire B: Eek… !
Twin Children Vampire A: I-I‘m scared...
Carla: You will not be forgiven, even if you cry.
Yui: Nn…
(These children are completely startled by his appearance… !)
Carla-san, please calm down! I‘ll take over here—
Twin Children Vampire B: Uwuahhhhh!! We‘re sorry!!
Twin Children Vampire A: We‘re so sorry!!
Carla: Nn… !
Yui: Come on, there‘s no need to cry, right? Why don‘t you tell your big sis about everything in detail?
Twin Children Vampire B: Y-You won‘t get angry… and destroy our house if we do, right?
Carla: About that—
Yui: Carla-san!
Carla: Tch…
*Carla steps back*
Yui: Good. Your big sis won‘t get angry nor destroy your house if you try to explain yourself to her.
Did you take the stone with you because you‘re in some sort of difficult circumstances? Please let me know about that first.
Twin Children Vampire B: Err… what should we do?
Twin Children Vampire A: We have no other choice but to tell her...
Yui: So you do want to tell me about it?
Twin Children Vampire B: Yes. Please come with us.
Yui: Eh? Where are we going?
Twin Children Vampire A: It will be easier if you see it for yourself…
*they start walking*
Yui: (Where exactly are they planning on bringing us?)
Carla: —Good grief. That is exactly why children are not my favorites.
Place: Subterranean tunnel — Large door
Yui: ...Where‘s this place… ? There‘s only a huge door...
Twin Children Vampire A: Right behind this door is a direct way to the castle‘s basement. It barely opens up for anyone, and if it does, rarely any people are going through it.
Twin Children Vampire B: That‘s why… here...
Carla: ...Are you hiding something here?
Twin Children Vampire A: Yes… it‘s somebody called Gazby.
*dog barks*
Yui: A dog!?
Twin Children Vampire A: Gazby!
*dog barks again*
Twin Children Vampire B: Gazby is our dog.
Yui: ...Ah, so that‘s it. You two really have a cute doggie.
Twin Children Vampire A: Right? Gazby has been together with us ever since we were born.
Yui: I see. But we came here because we have to talk to you two about the stone, right?
Carla: —This dog, it has been bitten by the medusa snake as well.
Yui: Eh!?
Twin Children Vampire A: Nn… he‘s right. The first time I encountered the snake was when I played with Gazby in the forest… and that‘s also when he was bitten by it.
Gazby desperately needs help...
Yui: Ah, I understand. That means, Gazby‘s petrifaction has started spreading through his body too...
But why didn‘t you even try honestly telling Aji-san about it?
I‘m sure she would‘ve made the medicine, by melting the stone, as soon as possible if you told her about it.
Twin Children Vampire A: —Because she would‘ve said that it‘s just a dog anyway.
Carla: What do you mean?
Twin Children Vampire B: Our papa and mama already told us that we should give up on it since he‘s just a dog.
They said even if we did manage to stop the petrifaction by using the gem, he would still die someday.
Yui: That is...
Carla: Then, why did you not use your abilities on Gazby in order to make his body become immortal in case the moment of departure arrives?
You should have known he might pass away sooner or later.
Twin Children Vampire A: ...Hmm.
Twin Children Vampire B: We didn‘t really think too much about that until now. It‘s true that dogs aren‘t normal animals in the demon world, so he‘ll surely die someday, but...
If we make Gazby‘s body unable to die anymore, it wouldn‘t feel as if it‘s really Gazby anymore.
Carla: …..
Yui: (Somehow, this is the same as I feel about that… this suddenly reminded me of a conversation I had with Carla-san…)
Twin Children Vampire A: We know that we have to part ways someday.
But that‘s exactly why we think it‘s ridiculous not to cure something, which clearly can be healed.
Twin Children Vampire B: That‘s right… but both, dad and mom… no, all adults don‘t really understand us.
*dog whines painfully*
Twin Children Vampire A: We‘re begging you! Please give the medicine, made with the stone, to us!
Twin Children Vampire B: Please!
Twin Children Vampire A: I heard you‘re being referred to as a founder, a person who possesses the strongest magic among anyone else anyway, isn‘t that right… ?
Carla: …..
Yui: ...Nn…
(What should we do now… ? I really want to hand the medicine over to those children… but if we do that, Aji-san—)
*backflash*
Aji: Here, this is a list of all the missing ingredients. Bring me what you can get, and don‘t worry about it too much if you can‘t.
Carla: There are quite many missing.
Aji: Can‘t change that. However, this is the only way we can obtain the antidote little by little…
It is the only way to save you.
*backflash ends*
Yui: (—This is what she said…)
…..
Carla: —I understand. Take it.
Twin Children Vampire A: Eh!? R-Really!?
Twin Children Vampire B: I‘m so happy! Gazby!
*dog barks*
Yui: But, Carla-san—
Carla: It is okay.
Yui: Nn…
Carla: Believe in me.
Yui: (It‘s not like I‘m not believing in him. I know Carla-san is a really kindhearted person and all, but… I‘m still feeling uneasy about this situation…)
Carla: Hey, children. You have to hand over the gem first, otherwise the antidote will not be able to be finished. Aji has to be the one mixing the medicine together after all.
Twin Children Vampire A: Okay!
Carla: Good. Now, let us go.
Twin Children Vampire A: Yes!
Twin Children Vampire B: Yes!
Yui: Haa...
(I can‘t help myself but wonder about what might happen next. The most important thing we can do for now is to stop the petrifaction from spreading inside the dog…)
Place: Demon world — Reine • de • Aji store
Carla: We are back.
Aji: Nn! I was impatiently waiting for you! Where is the stone?
Carla: …..
Aji: My, My! Ngh, you guys really did manage to bring it back after all?
Twin Children Vampire A: I‘m sorry…
Twin Children Vampire B: I‘m sorry, too…
Aji: I‘ll do the preaching later. I have to mix the antidote first, now that I have this back. Wait here obediently until I‘m done!
*Aji leaves*
Yui: Okay…
Carla: ...Good. After that — Hey, Yui.
Yui: Hm?
Carla: Follow me.
Yui: ….. ?
(Follow me, he said… where on earth are we supposed to go?)
Place: Glimmer Main Street — Zatan’s mouth
Yui: ...Carla-san, what exactly do you want to do here?
Carla: Just watch.
…..
Yui: (..... ? ...Carla-san, what are you doing… ?)
*Carla uses magic*
Carla: Ngh… !!
Yui: Nn… !
Carla: …..
*Carla uses magic*
Yui: Carla-san… I, um—
Carla: Stay quiet. Just a little more.
Yui: …..
Carla: Okay — this will do.
Yui: ….. ?
Carla: I have given the snake that bit me a strong punishment about its doing.
Yui: Isn‘t the snake only in there while the sun shines?
Carla: Here, look for yourself.
Yui: Kyaaaa!? T-The snake is still right there—
Carla: I already put the snake under my control by now. I had to set a curse on it.
Yui: ….. !?
Carla: —Now, medusa snake, come on my hand.
*snake peeks outside*
Carla: Oh my, you have made me go through some sort of bitter experiences indeed.
This would have never happened to me, if I had been aware of the existence of this particular matter in the first place.
But it does not matter any longer. You will be able to make up for the sins you have created with your own body soon enough.
Yui: Nn… what does that exactly mean?
Carla: —That stone… it has been dissolved in the interior body of this snake from the very beginning.
Yui: ...Nn… so that‘s it! Does that mean the exact same stone‘s really inside that snake?
Carla: Well, the size of the jewel must have narrowed since it may have reached its upper limit.
But over this short amount of time, it could not possibly afford shrinking too much either. I would have to take out the stone to prove that.
We only have to capture it now—
Yui: Is it seriously okay to touch it barehanded?
Carla: It will not be able to resist because of the effective spell I put upon it… Nn…
—What!? What is this supposed to mean… !?
Yui: Kyaaa!?
(It spouted!!)
*Carla protects Yui*
Carla: —Nn!!
Yui: Carla-san… !!
(It can‘t be… !! Carla-san can‘t be bitten again, he can‘t…)
Are you okay!?
Carla: Tch… it appears as if the spell has not worked successfully because of its poison... it seems to still have enough willpower to go against it...
Are you alright, at least?
Yui: Yeah, only because Carla-san ended up protecting me though...
Carla: Good...
Yui: Other than that, Carla-san...
Nn… !
*Yui hugs Carla*
Yui: Nn…
Carla: Is there anything to cry for? I have already been bitten by it once by now. If I have not changed after one time, I will not after another.
Yui: Are you sure about that? The petrifaction won‘t keep on moving forward faster… is that really true?
Carla: I have been taking this with me for a long time now, would you not agree?
So, do not cry… Nn...
*Carla kisses Yui*
Yui: (Carla-san… he‘s really affectionate. Even though… he‘s in such a critical situation right now…)
Carla: Okay. We will now take the snake with us, and then make sure to give it to Aji.
Yui: Nn… yes… !
Place: Demon world — Reine • de • Aji store
Carla: —We are back.
Twin Children Vampire B: Welcome back!!
Carla: The medicine?
Twin Children Vampire A: Oh, yes. Look, it‘s over there.
Aji: —I‘ve heard it from the children already, but are you really willing to give the medicine to them?
Carla: Yes, that is my intention.
Aji: Good grief, our founder-sama really is a praiseworthy person. What will you do about your petrification then?
Carla: —With this, even a small amount should be enough. Would you be willing to make another antidote?
Aji: Oh my, the medusa snake… I see, that‘s what you thought of.
However, I won‘t be able to make enough medicine to completely detoxify your whole body with just this one.
Even so, are you okay with that?
Carla: It is fine. As long as I am able to continue living after only half of my body has turned into stone.
Aji: Alright. I‘ll start making it immediately.
Yui: —U-Um… can I ask something?
That snake… will you end up killing it?
Aji: Why would you care about something like that?
Yui: That‘s because...
Carla: ...Is there perhaps a method to get the gem out of the snake without killing it?
Yui: Carla-san… !
Aji: Hmm, it wouldn‘t be much of a problem taking it out without killing it, but it will take some time to do so.
In the meantime, the petrification could be possibly completed by then, you know? Do you still want that?
Carla: Yes.
Aji: Okay, fine. Well then, keep waiting a little.
*Aji leaves*
Carla: Now, kids. Give this medicine to your dog.
Twin Children Vampire B: Nn… thank you… really!
Twin Children Vampire A: Founder-sama… you‘re really an amazing man!
Carla: I told you, I do not joke around. Now go, quickly.
Twin Children Vampire B: Yes! U-Um… this...
Carla: What is this? An ornament… ?
Twin Children Vampire A: This is to show our gratitude. Well then… !
*they run off*
Carla: ...Now what exactly is this?
Yui: As those two already said, they just wanted to give you something to thank you.
Carla: Hmph. Good grief… that is exactly why children are not my cup of tea.
Yui: (Even if he does say such a thing, Carla-san seems way more gentle to children than to others)
—Carla-san, you‘d surely make a good father in the future...
Carla: ...Ngh… !
Yui: Carla-san!!
Carla: —Fuck… the petrifaction… it‘s progressing… Nn… !
Yui: (Nn… mostly every part of his body… has already turned into stone… !)
Carla-san! Please, hang in there… !
Carla: I… I‘m al… right...
*Yui gets closer*
Carla: Ngh…
Yui: (...Please! Come back… faster… please, hurry up!)
*time passes*
Aji: —I must‘ve kept you waiting.
Yui: Nn… ! Aji-san… Carla-san, he is… !
Aji: Good god, this is bad. We have to give him the medicine as soon as possible.
Be aware to be careful not to spill anything.
Yui: Carla-san… Carla-san… !!
Carla: …..
Aji: He already lost consciousness. It‘s already impossible for him to drink the medicine all by himself.
Yui: —Then, I‘ll make him drink it mouth-to-mouth...
Nn…
Carla: Nn…
Yui: (Please… work… dear goddess, please let it work… !)
(Carla-san… come back!)
*Carla slowly moves*
Yui: (Ah! The petrification… it loosened…)
Aji: I‘m so glad. It seems as if you did it right in time.
Yui: Yes… !
Carla: Nn… Yui… ?
Yui: Yes, I‘m here… ! Carla-san… how are you feeling?
Carla: I feel better now… luckily… it feels as if the petrifaction has loosened itself in my whole body...
Aji: I‘m glad. Since you‘re a founder, only this much amount must‘ve been enough to cure it completely.
This is definitely not normal otherwise.
Carla: Aji, I have to thank you.
Aji: No, No. It‘s only natural to help other people who are troubled by something.
—By the way, I‘ll take the full responsibility of releasing the snake deep into one of the forests.
Carla: I see… please do.
Aji: Okay!
*Carla dresses up*
Carla: Well, then… next… should be your turn.
Yui: Eh? My turn?
Carla: …..
Yui: My turn you say… then, ah, is that so...
I‘m sorry. My head might‘ve been full with everything that has happened with Carla-san, and that‘s probably how I forgot about myself.
Carla: Haa, that is simply the woman you are… you are way too good-natured for a normal person.
Yui: ...Probably...
(I only came to this parade because of a treasure that has been stolen from me, but with everything that has been going on, it must‘ve been natural that I forgot about myself)
Carla: —Hey, Walter… are you listening?
Yui: Eh?
Earl of Walter: —Kuku, as expected from your awareness.
Yui: (Nn, the voice of the Earl was coming from somewhere in the sky or something… !)
Carla: I noticed it indeed. You have been continuously doing this for a while.
Yui: W-What is that supposed to mean?
Earl of Walter: Both of your actions, I‘ve been continuously looking at them for a long time by now.
Yui: (I didn‘t even notice him at all…)
Carla: —And, what about it now? Do you feel like returning her heart?
Earl of Walter: I don‘t think so...
Carla: Nn… stop joking around… !
Yui: Carla-san!?
Place: Glimmer street — Eisen alley
Carla: I will not accept you saying that. She is someone who, in comparison to me, should have her strength being recognized.
This woman is truthful. She is in comparison to anyone, pure.
She is the one and only woman who is worth possessing this sort of heart. I will not let you say anything different from this!
Yui: (Carla-san… I think this might be the first time I‘ve ever seen him shouting out like that…)
Earl of Walter: —My, My. It appears as if I have no other choice but to surrender.
Yui: Eh… ?
(Nn… !?)
(My chest… Nn… !)
Carla: —Hey! Hang in there!
*Carla comes closer*
Carla: Hey!
Yui: Nn… I-I‘m okay...
Earl of Walter: —I certainly did return it now.
Carla: Hey, did he surely return it back to you?
Yui: ...Yes, he did...
Carla: Nn...
*Carla leans toward her chest*
Carla: —What a relief.
Yui: (Carla-san…)
Earl of Walter: Therefore, I‘m done here. But, enjoy the finale of the parade to your complete heart‘s content, please do this much for me.
Carla: Never appear again!
Earl of Walter: —Fufu, then…
*Earl disappears*
Yui: Ah...
Carla: This issue seems to be settled.
Yui: Yes!
(I was already wondering what would happen at first…)
(But because of all the things that happened to us, I was able to see various aspects of Carla-san again, and I did that without even being able to enjoy the parade at its fullest until now.)
(I was, once again, able to see his other colors for myself, and I‘ll never forget about this sort of feeling any longer. In order to do so, I‘ll keep on living…)
(—With Carla-san together…)
Carla: Now, in that case—
Yui: Let‘s enjoy the remaining time we still have!
Carla: Yes.

Strawberries and Art 5
Jihoon x Y/N
Genre: College AU, Fluff Word Count: 5k Summary: Like every passionate art student, you spent most of your time immersed in your drawings and paintings. The day you meet Jihoon, your everyday life suddenly gets a lot more exciting…
All chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
Chapter 5
When Jihoon was younger he didn´t think teachers existed outside of school. It wasn´t a conscious thought, he just never took into consideration that teachers didn´t cease to exist whenever the bell rang. It had seemed as if his teachers simply started to be around whenever he entered a classroom. And as he sat there in his music class, having given up paying attention a while ago, he realized that he thought about you in the exact same way. You had so suddenly entered his life, he was having a hard time accepting that you actually were a real living human being.
Jihoon had never been much of a romantic. He had always thought of romance as a construct made up by the entertainment industry. He didn´t think badly of it, he just doubted that the kind of romance they portray in movies and books even existed. He didn´t long for it either. He had always been a realist. Love would come, or it wouldn´t. And suddenly there were you. You were just there, like you had just started existing. And he didn´t know if it was love. He didn´t even think about the word “love”. He hadn´t even wrapped his head around the fact that he maybe, only maybe might have a teeny tiny little crush on you. He just knew that he liked you. Really liked you. Talking to you was so easy and made him feel so light, in the most perfect way possible.
At lunch Jihoon sat with Hansol, who had grown a bit annoyed with him being zoned out. “Dude. What´s going on? I´m bored. Talk to me.” “I´m sorry.” Jihoon grumbled not even looking up from his plate to look at his friend. “Didn´t the date go well yesterday?” Only now Jihoon´s eyes met Hansol´s. “No. It went perfect.” “So?” “What so?” “Why aren´t you super happy?” Jihoon let out a small sigh. “I am. I´m just confused.” “What? How can you be confused about a perfect date?” “I´ve only known her for a few days and I think I already like her. It doesn´t make sense.” Hansol let out a hearty laugh. “Hey, it does make sense. It makes a lot of sense actually…you know when I met Jo I knew she would annoy the shit out of me. And holy shit she does, I swear if she talks one more time about that superhero guy with that metal arm…Beefy Barnett or whatever he´s called…I´ll have to kill her.” Anyone would´ve been able to read the loving smile that had formed on Hansol´s face, as much as he pretended to be annoyed by Jo he just couldn´t hide his fondness. “Anyways the point I was trying to make is that I knew she would be a pain in the ass but I also knew I liked her. I´m not saying it´s always like that or it has to be like that but I´m saying that yes it does make sense.” “Bucky Barnes.” Jihoon grinned. “What?” “That superhero guy. His name is Bucky Barnes.” “Oh my god. Not you too.”
It had been nice seeing Jihoon in the morning, even if it had only been for about 2.5 seconds. And even if you probably wouldn’t have liked to admit it, those 2.5 seconds were the only reason you had survived your morning classes. And that really says something because you even skipped art history which you admittedly did feel sort of bad about. The professor was always so disappointed seeing only so few students sitting in her class. That´s why you normally tried not to miss her classes but you just haven´t been able to get yourself to move out of bed this early today.
You were on your way to the cafeteria when you realized it was Tuesday, which meant Jo didn´t have classes today. You groaned, knowing you would probably have to eat your lunch alone. You didn´t like eating alone in public. The exposedness of the situation, the feeling of being watched, yeah you could definitely pass on that one.
Jihoon´s eyes lit up when he saw you. You were standing next to the door that led to the cafeteria, the very same door he was about to walk through. As you looked down at your feet while letting some other students pass in front of him, he realized you hadn´t noticed him yet. “Hi.” He smiled. You looked up and for a tiny moment Jihoon thought he had seen your eyes sparkle when you recognized it was him. “Hi.” “You come here often?” Jihoon asked, his voice comically serious. “Oh my god,” you sighed. “That was really bad.” you weren´t able to hide the grin that had spread on your face. “I´m sorry I´m sorry,” he held up his hands defensively, also smiling, “anyways…are you my homework?” “What?” the look of confusion on your face was priceless. “You definitely look like my homework…cause I´m not doing you when I should.” He winked. Your eyes widened at the realization of what he had just said - god you really were so innocent- and then you laughed. “That was even worse, Jihoon!” “You´re mean.” He pouted. “Also you don´t even need those bad pickup lines.” You giggled. “Oh?” he raised his eyebrows, a smug grin plastered on his face. “I don´t?” Immediately your mind wandered off to yesterday when he had buried his face in your pussy, giving you all those sickeningly sweet jolts of pleasure. “No. I don´t think you need those.” “And why is that, sweetie?” Your face had turned bright pink and you didn´t know what to answer. Why the fuck did he always have to tease you?? Your entire body had been filled with intrusive warmth and for a few seconds you were physically unable to say anything. You just felt so small under his gaze, his presence was overwhelming. “I mean…I already gave you a drawing of a hedgehog…that basically bonds us for life.” You stuttered. “Does it now?” Jihoon let out a hearty laugh “You really are so innocent aren´t you?” “I´m not innocent at all!” you tried to seem offended. “You sure?” “Yes!” Raising his eyebrows again he responded: “Guess I´ll just have to find out huh?” When he saw you were getting flustered again he had mercy and changed the topic “No but seriously, thanks for the drawing. I know it’s simple but it‘s the most adorable thing. I love it.” “I‘m glad you like it.” You smiled softly. “Of course. Also you drawing that for me is one of the cutest things…”He didn‘t get to finish the sentence he had started because you had grabbed his jacket and had pulled him so that he was now standing in front of you, your back facing the wall. “Oh my god. I´m sorry but you have to hide me real quick.” Jihoon didn´t know what was going on but he could see the freaked out look on your face, so he leaned in closer as to shield you. “I‘m so so sorry.” You let out a breathy giggle, still holding him by his jacket. “But behind you my art history professor just passed and I skipped her class today and I really didn´t want her to see me and I panicked and…” you let go of his jacket. “I´m sorry.”
Jihoon didn´t say anything for a moment, he was still processing what had just happened. But then a huge grin spread on his face. “You know, if you really wanted to be closer to me this bad you could´ve just asked.” “I swear it really was because of my professor.” You said trying to get yourself out of this awkward situation. Your heart was beating so so so fast. “So you don´t even wanna be close to me?” he asked and only now you realized how small the distance still was between your bodies. He was standing so close you could´ve counted all of his eyelashes. “I..that´s not what I meant.” You averted your gaze to the floor, not being able to keep looking into his eyes. “Look at me.” Surprised by his words you pulled up your view again. “You’re cute.“ Your cheeks flushed red and your mouth slightly agape you looked at him. He was smirking at you, knowing oh so well what effect he had on you. “And you’re mean.” You finally replied. He raised his eyebrows, grin still plastered on his face. “Mean? That’s not exactly what I would call a person who made me cum just yesterday.” “I…” Jihoon couldn’t help but laugh at your shocked face. “You sure you aren’t innocent, sweetie?” “I…” you buried your face in your hands “You really can’t stop teasing me, can you?” you finally muttered under your breath, voice way too quiet to sound confident.
And then Jihoon took your face in his hand, his thumb caressing your cheek lightly. “Can you blame me? You really look so pretty when you blush.” He was smiling but his voice sounded so serious. “Haven’t we had this talk already?”, you giggled. “We most definitely have.” “Jihoon, you’re horrible.” “Y\N, you’re wonderful.” “You’re cheesy.” “You’re pretty.” “You need to stop.” You grinned. “And you need to accompany me to that party the music institute is having tomorrow.” “What’s in it for me?” You crossed your arms over your chest and acted as if you were actually thinking about saying no. “I’ll buy you a drink and you’ll get to spend some quality time with me, your local handsome music student who apparently is really good at eating pussy or so I’ve heard…” You slowly shook your head at his boldness, the smile never having left your face. “I’d absolutely love that.” You said. “I know.” He winked. “I’ll text you the details later. I’m already late to class.” “Oh my god, sorry I didn’t know you had class.” He smiled and then he leaned in and gave you a soft kiss on the cheek. “Being late for class because of a pretty girl? Totally worth it.” He smiled. “See you tomorrow!”
You hadn‘t managed to fully comprehend that you would be going to a party with Jihoon the next day, not until you got home in the afternoon and sank down onto your sofa. A smile spread itself across your face when you thought of how he had sounded so genuinely hopeful that you would say yes. You were so incredibly attracted to him, in definitely more ways than one, you hadn‘t even thought of saying no. You would‘t call yourself especially insecure or self conscious but you couldn‘t deny having some trouble realizing that this unearthly being of a man was actually attracted to you. It didn‘t make sense, he was this beautiful, funny, (too) cocky, sexy person and you were normal. But he hadn‘t been sure. He had been hopeful. So there were only two options; either he was just as captivated by you as you were by him, or he just didn‘t have a clue of how attractive he actually was (very unlikely because: cockytm).
Jihoon: hI Jihoon: *ho Jihoon: shit! lol Jihoon: Good afternoon. Jihoon: I actually wanted to message you earlier but I only got around to it now. Sorry :( So about that party tomorrow… You: Hii. Very smooth start to a conversation I must say.
He must have seen that you had already messaged back because for a second the typing... on the top of your chat turned into online.
Jihoon: I tried 😫 You: I can see. Lol Jihoon: You‘re making fun of me :( You: Maybe. Jihoon: you‘re gonna regret that. Jihoon: :) Jihoon: so anyways…about that party tomorrow… Jihoon: I can come pick you up at 7 if that‘s ok for you? You: sounds good! You: Do I have to wear something fancy? What party is this?? Jihoon: No you don‘t have to. It‘s just some annual party the music majors organize every year in honor of some famous composer. Jihoon: Don‘t ask me who the composer is. I forgot. You: omg 😂 Jihoon: 🙄 Jihoon: So 7 is good? You: Yup.
It took you a bit of courage to send the next message.
You: Can‘t wait to see you again Jihoon: Goes both ways sweetie ;)
And then you were clinging to your phone like it was some incredibly valuable treasure (or a certain other person). You really could not wait.
Jo: Y/N!?!!?!??!??!?? Jo: You‘re coming to the party tomorrow??? Jo: Hansol told me Jihoon is taking you 🌚 You: 😳 You: He told Hansol about it… You: omg You: but yes I‘m coming…I guess you‘ll be there too. Jo: YES BITCG Jo: and of course he told Hansol about it. He‘s in love with you 😌 You: JO Jo: How was your lunch date yesterday? You: … Jo: Oh no was it bad? You: NO omg it was great Jo: oh Jo: OH 🌚 You: stop sending that emoji 😭 You: but yeah uhm we kissed and Jo: AND You: and then he kinda maybe gave me head on my kitchen table. Jo: you’re kidding You: I swear! Jo: He’s in love with you!!!!!!!! Jo: Also was it good? You: sooo good You: stop saying that I don’t even know what I’m feeling myself :( Jo: You don’t have to know yet tho. Just enjoy it. Jo: And I can’t wait to see you two together tomorrow. I bet y’all are adorable You: omg pls don’t make it weird LOL Jo: Let me rephrase that Jo: I am very looking forward to creepily stare at the two of you from across the room 🌚 You: omg
The next day you handed in your portrait assignment. You had put it in a green folder with your name neatly written on top. You were really happy with your end product and you most definitely didn’t regret having chosen Jihoon as your model. As your professor took the folder out of your hand she smiled: “You know whenever I see that folder of yours I always know it’s gonna be something good.“ “I…thank you so much. That means a lot.“ You stammered. With a friendly nod she averted her attention back to another student. And it was so weird, so utterly confusing that the first thing you thought of on your way home was how you couldn‘t wait to tell Jihoon about your encounter. How you couldn‘t wait to tell him how happy that had made you.
After having spent most of your afternoon on school work, you had forced yourself to quickly decide on an outfit you wanted to wear for tonight. You hated the idea of spending so much time just thinking about your clothes. You had chosen a skirt and a top you really liked, nothing special but you felt comfortable in it. You looked pretty but not as if you had spent much thought on how to do that (which you considered a big accomplishment). It was a few minutes before seven when you heard your phone buzz.
Jihoon: Heyy I’m outside :) You: I’ll be down in a sec!
He was standing on the sidewalk and he looked so casual so at ease, as if picking you up was something he did everyday. And fuck he looked hot. When he saw you walk out the door a puppy like smile spread across his face that broke the illusion of casualness. You couldn‘t help but reciprocate his exciting grin. Without hesitation you fell into each others arms. “Hi.“ he murmured against your hair while holding you. “Hi.“ “You know I’m really happy to see you again.“ “Goes both ways.“ You grinned which made him snicker. You slightly pulled yourself out of his embrace, you didn‘t want to wait any longer. You had been waiting the entire day to tell him. “You know I handed in my portrait assignment today.“ “And?“ he looked so excited. His eyes had actually lit up. “She hasn’t graded it yet but she said that she’s always happy seeing my folder because apparently it’s always good and I still can’t believe she actually said that.“ And then he laughed and there was no other thing to do for you other than to blush. You just stared at him in disbelief because what the hell was so funny. “I…I just…sorry but like of course she said that.“ he was still laughing “Y/N, I really don’t know much about art but even I, a fool, can see that you’re so fucking talented.“ You smiled “You really are a fool, Jihoon.“ “I compliment you and that’s your comment? I can’t believe it.“ He dramatically put his hand over his chest. “I had literally no other choice.“ You giggled. “But thank you so much.“
As you were walking he told you of his day and how he had been writing a lot of songs lately. You were a rather introverted person, talking to someone, even being around other people could be very exhausting for you. You liked being alone, not necessarily because there were no other people around but because you didn’t need to explain yourself. It wasn’t that you thought you were so different or oh so special but you just had always felt a certain disconnect between the thoughts and feelings you wanted to express and what actually ended up coming out of your mouth…which could be exhausting. But then there were people who seemingly were able to pick up what you were trying to convey. Not just the general message of your words but all those tiny little nuances that you had always been hiding unintentionally in your language. Jihoon seemed to be one of those people. Your conversation was not just question-answer-and saying things that were supposed to be said. It felt like you were having a monologue together. Your thoughts somehow intertwined, flowed into each other at the exact right time in the exact right places and that was just so fucking cool.
“Hey would it be ok if I held your hand?“ You giggled and turned your head to look at him. “Jihoon, you don‘t even have to ask.“ He took your slightly smaller hand into his and immediately interlaced your fingers. “I just wanted to ask because people are gonna see and they‘ll probably assume we‘re a couple and I don‘t want that to make you uncomfortable.“ You gave his hand a tight squeeze and smiled. “It won‘t.“
Jihoon had told you that they had rented the small concert hall for the party. When you got closer to the music building there were already a lot of (presumingly) students around. The doors to the hall were open and a lot of people were hanging out on the lawn in front of it. You had to stop yourself from laughing out loud when you watched a boy, who definitely wasn‘t 18 yet, throw up into a bush. It was only half past 7. “Poor kid.“ Jihoon stated without being able to hide the amusement in his voice. “You ever threw up before 8?“ you snickered. Your question was meant to be rhetorical. “I would like to exercise my right to remain silent.“ “Oh. My. God. You actually did.“ to accentuate your reaction you stopped walking and put your hands over your face. Mostly because you had a hard time hiding your laugh. You were standing at the edge of the lawn, still at a safe distance from the other party guests. “I didn‘t say anything!“ “I‘m shocked.“ “I know it‘s hard to imagine but there used to be a time where I was so nervous about talking to girls that I had to drink a lot and I mean A LOT of alcohol before doing so.“ he stated, a grin plastered on his face. “Awww Jihoon was actually scared of talking to girls.“ He let out a low chuckle and then he grabbed your hips roughly and pulled you into him. “I‘m not scared of talking to you right now though, am I?“ And holy fuck if that didn‘t make you nervous nothing else would but for some inexplicable reason you still managed to stutter out a response. “Maybe you‘re just good at hiding it.“ He looked at you, amusement still written on his face and it was so hard not to look away because his stare was so intense so intimate, you didn‘t know what to do with yourself. “God, you‘re killing me.“ You just smiled, too much in trance to say anything. His eyes wandered down to your mouth and only now were you realizing how you had been subconsciously biting your bottom lip. And fuck you were already waiting for the kiss, you swore you could already feel his lips on yours but… it didn‘t happen. Instead he pulled away slightly, leaving his hands on your hips. “You know, maybe you‘re right.“ he said and for a moment he seemed so incredibly vulnerable. “Huh?“ “Maybe, you do make me really nervous too.“ And then there was nothing left to do. Everything had stopped moving and there was nothing left to do. Nothing, except that one thing. And you really had no other choice because there was nothing. Only him and you. And then you took his face into your hands and kissed him. He returned it immediately, it was a soft, loving kiss, maybe even a bit innocent. “I‘m glad I can make you feel that way too.“ You released yourself from his grip and took a few steps backwards away from him. “Come on, let‘s join the others.“
There are several ways and techniques on how to draw attention to yourself. The classiest way, which would also have the benefit of not disturbing other people, would probably be to simply just wave in the direction of the person you wanted to get attention from. Jo however was not a classy person. “Hey! Y/N!“ Jo was literally jumping up and down while waving her arms. Hansol, who stood next to her, started to laugh and shake his head in disbelief. But one had to hand it to her, her method worked. You had immediately spotted her through the crowd. Jihoon turned his head to look at you, his voice oozing with sarcasm “I’m not sure but I think your friend might be looking for you.“ “I think you might me right.“ you giggled.
“I‘m so happy you are here!“ Jo stated before hugging you and Jihoon. “I agree. This one‘s kinda hard to deal with alone.“ Hansol said, pointing to Jo. Jo let out an overdramatic sigh and crossed her arms over her chest. “You‘re the worst.“ “I know.“ Hansol had pulled her into him and had given her a kiss on the top of her head, she scrunched up her nose in fake protest which in return had made Jihoon and you laugh. “I swear I have no clue how you deal with her on a daily basis. She is such a goblin.“ you said after having watched the scenario. “Finally someone who understands me!“ Hansol raised his arm to give you a high five, which you gladly reciprocated. “I really need some alcohol after this betrayal..“ Jo announced with a grin on her face.
You had expected to see more dancing, more drinking and more people getting fucked up but right now you were looking at a room full of students who were seemingly just chilling. Most of the chairs had been pushed to the side and a lot of people simply just sat on the floor, chatting with each other. Some students were dancing while some were standing next to the bluetooth speaker. They were probably arguing over the choice of music. The four of you were standing next to the bar which really wasn‘t a bar. To be precise the so called bar consisted of one folding table and a lot of bottles of alcohol that were stacked on the floor. Jihoon was standing next to you, your sides had been touching the entire time. It felt good to be close to him in such a casual way even though it did make you nervous. “That’s too much orange juice!“ Jihoon tried to keep Hansol from pouring more of the juice into his cup. “Dude it‘s gonna taste like shit.“ “It‘s literally just gonna taste like alcohol.“ “Yeah! Which tastes like shit!“ “Oh my god you have the taste buds of a baby.“ “Yeah he does.“ Jo chimed in which earned her an offended look from Hansol. “Ok but Hansol is kinda right. Like alcohol really tastes awful.“ you decided to defend Hansol. “You‘re cute.“ You hadn‘t even realized yet that Jihoon‘s compliment had been meant for you when Hansol started to protest. “So when Y/N says alcohol is disgusting it‘s cute but when I do it I have the taste buds of a baby??“ “Nah you both have the taste buds of a baby but Y/N is just cuter than you.“ Jihoon grinned and grabbed you side to pull you into him. You thought you were losing your mind. The concept of Jihoon complimenting you was already a hard enough concept to grasp but now he was doing it in front of your friends? You were sure he would be the death of you sooner or later. “I‘m outraged.“ Hansol let out a laugh. He looked like he couldn‘t believe Jihoon‘s boldness either. “Aww poor baby. You‘re cute too.“ Jo had pulled Hansol‘s face down to her height to give him a kiss on the nose. “Thank you.“ he pouted.
“Hey Jihoon! Hansol!“ “Hi! I didn‘t know you were coming too, Seokmin!“ Jo greeted the taller one of the two guys who had just approached you. You didn‘t know them but you were sure you had seen them somewhere on campus before. “Me neither to be honest. But Seungkwan right here didn‘t want to go alone.“ You looked at Seokmin. He was a tall guy who, for a second had seemed somewhat serious and intimidating, but when his entire face broke into a beaming smile that illusion was quickly eliminated. He had actually turned into an overgrown puppy. After everyone had greeted each other Seokmin introduced his friend: “Seungkwan, that‘s Jo and this is…I‘m sorry I think we haven‘t met before. You‘re not a music student right?“ he was looking at you now. “No I‘m an art student. I‘m Y/N.“ “Very nice to meet you.“ the guy who was apparently named Seungkwan chimed in. At a first glance Seungkwan had appeared to be very average looking, only now as you were actually looking at him were you realizing how pretty he actually was. He looked like an actual disney prince. “Seungkwan, how have you been? Haven‘t seen you in so long.“ Jihoon had turned his head to Seungkwan. “Yeah I’ve been real busy with school but besides that I’m doing pretty well.“ The two of them fell into a casual conversation about their school work and you thought Seungkwan was mentioning something about a new project but you couldn‘t be entirely sure because your thoughts had drifted off after about 10 seconds into the conversation, which was of course no one‘s but Jihoon‘s fault. His hand was still resting on your waist as if it were the easiest, most casual, thing to do. Bystanders probably didn‘t even notice but you clearly felt his hand rest on your hip a tad bit too firmly for it to be normal. You were so so so close to him. Your shirt had risen up just a tiny bit so his fingers were resting on your bare skin. You were already so hyperaware of his touch on your body you really thought you were losing your mind when he started to rub small circles into your side. You wanted nothing more than to be closer to him but you were already so so close and you were in public and he was literally having a conversation with someone right in front of your eyes. “Are you down for it too, Y/N?“ Seungkwan had mentioned your name. Oh no. You had no clue what he was talking about. “I‘m sorry, what did you say?“ you tried to save yourself. “We were talking about playing Seokmin‘s drinking game…“ “Yeah of course she‘s down for it.We’ll just get something to drink and then we’ll join you.“ Jihoon interrupted him. “Awesome!“ Seungkwan didn’t seem to question your lack of response. As Seungkwan was walking off to join Seokmin, Hansol and Jo for the ominous game you were about to play, Jihoon pulled you to the side. “Was I that much of a distraction to you sweetie?“ he was actually smirking. “I…“ you didn’t know what to say because fuck yes he had been that much of a distraction but you couldn’t just admit that even if you were aware that he already knew. “I didn‘t even do much.“ You were nervous again. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest and your entire body felt so hot. “You‘re just mean.“ you pouted. He let out a hearty laugh at your childish answer. “And you‘re just so innocent.“ “I‘m not.“ “You keep saying that but I just don‘t believe you, sweetie.“ He still had his hand on your hip and it felt like your skin was actually burning under his touch. You really didn‘t think you were brave enough but for some unapparent reason you managed to get your next words out of your mouth. “How can I prove it to you?“ He was surprised by your question, he had raised his eyebrows but his smirk had vanished a tiny bit. “Hey are y’all coming?“ Hansol’s voice had made both of you jump slightly. Jihoon slackened his grip on your waist and took a step back to lessen the tension between you. “We‘re on our way!“
“What even are we playing?“ you asked Jihoon as you were walking over. “If you would’ve paid attention you would know.“ he winked at you. You just rolled your eyes which made him chuckle. “It’s just some weird drinking game Seungkwan wanted to try for the longest of time. Apparently it’s a bit like truth or dare.“ “Oh, that sounds like fun.“ “It does. Maybe it‘s a chance for you to prove that you‘re not that innocent?“

Hello, may I place an order if the kitchen is still open? I would really like, a Club Sandwich with the extra cheesy Tortilla Soup and a Charcuterie Board for an appetizer. And for drinks I'd like an Iced Coffee and a Banna Milshake, please and thank you. My compliments to the chef, I love the food here.
Dear Anon,
Thank you for your lovely order! ♡ Knowing that you enjoy the food made the chef very happy! :3 ♡♡ I hope you enjoy your special order and that the taste is to your liking (I wanted to write more but had to shorten it because of “time” and it being a “drabble” game 😅 so you got a little time jump instead to get a tiny glimpse of Yoonkook being actually in love ;)
Bon appétit!
Title: Tip my heart
AU: Strangers to Lovers Genre: Romance Pairing: Yoonkook Rating: G Warnings: none Wordcount: 1519
Prompt: “It say’s here on your receipt that you’d like to leave a $300 tip. Perhaps that’s a mistake? Or are you just crazy?”
Link to the original menu/drabble event here: 🍽️
Jungkook froze, the note on his receipt making him stop dead in his tracks.
There, at the bottom of this little piece of paper it said that his tip would be three hundred dollars. Three hundred dollars!
Of course he immediately turned around and went back to the table that he had just come from.
„Uhm, excuse me, Mister? It says here on your receipt that you’d like to leave a $300 tip. Perhaps that’s a mistake?“ He kept the ‚Or are you just crazy?‘ to himself, considering that the man had been a really nice guest so far. He had probably just forgotten a comma and it had meant to be a three dollar tip. Which was a proper tip for the meal the other had ordered. It was quite an awkward situation so he tried to be really polite about it.
The other gave him an amused smile. „Yes, that‘s exactly what I wrote.“ He didn‘t make any move to take the receipt back and change the stupidly high amount he had written on it, so Jungkook stayed stuck besides the table in confusion. The man seemed to be awfully happy about this.
„Is this a joke?“ He knew that some people were unreasonably mean to people working in the service sector because they couldn‘t really fight back without causing trouble for themselves as well. He should be able to handle it by now but it still stung a little, first because it came out of nowhere in this case (normally people who were looking down on him like that outed themselves pretty early through their behavior, not just at the end) and second because he had actually liked this guest.
He didn‘t really know him of course but the man‘s eyes had been kind and his delicate hands had woken the photography major in Jungkook who was just fascinated by such a natural kind of beauty. The man had been different in a way right from the start, not because he was wearing flashy clothes or speaking loudly like other guests did, it was rather the other way round; he was wearing dark, elegant clothes and only spoke when he had to. It should have been easy for him to blend into the crowd of guests. And yet Jungkook felt like he wouldn‘t be able to forget him, that pale, pretty face with those dark, intense eyes – or the way the other had looked at him like he was special, like he wasn‘t just one of many waiters in a restaurant but a piece of art that he had unexpectedly stumbled upon. And now this.
The man‘s expression turned a little sheepish but it still didn‘t look like he felt guilty for playing a prank on him like that. His voice sounded a little rough when he answered him. „Ah, I‘m sorry. I should have given you a warning first, I guess. I knew this kind of tip might surprise you but I didn‘t expect you to think of it as a joke or mistake. You see, I just wanted you to keep me in good memory so that next time I‘ll be here you might want to serve me again?“
Jungkook stared at him with a dumbfounded expression. „You want to pay me 300 dollars just for me to potentially be your waiter again the next time you come here to eat? What if you‘re here on my free day or when I don‘t work a shift? Then you would have payed all that money for nothing!“ He still wasn‘t sure if the other was serious, but apart from the slight color in his cheeks the man seemed completely fine, as if having a conversation about this was perfectly normal.
„That wouldn‘t have happened. Your colleague over there was kind enough to tell me when you‘re on shift.“ Jungkook turned to where Yoongi had looked and could see Taehyung quickly picking up some menus, pretending to suddenly be very busy as if he hadn‘t been standing there, trying to listen in on their conversation. Taehyung. Oh, he would give him an earful after this for telling a stranger when he was working! A crazy stranger at that.
„So.. did it work?“ The man‘s soft voice brought his attention back to their conversation.
„What?“
„Will you be my waiter next time I‘m here?“
Jungkook swallowed. Would he? Despite the man‘s obvious inability to handle his money Jungkook still thought that the other was really nice, now that it hadn‘t turned out to be a joke at his expense.
„I guess I could be?“ he answered, a little insecure.
The man gave him a beaming smile as if he had just been told some amazing news and got up, showing that he was actually a little shorter than Jungkook.
„That‘s great! See you next time then!“
Jungkook just nodded, still a little confused, because he didn‘t know what else to say. Three hundred dollars! Just to see him again.
Although Tae tried to avoid him after he eventually managed to corner him to find out that Taehyung wouldn‘t have sold him out to random strangers – just this one in particular. Apparently the stranger‘s name was Min Yoongi and he was not just a regular guest, but a famous food critic that also had the strange habit to never eat at the same place twice. At least not until now.
„Do you know what this means?“ Tae asked him eagerly. „If you look at him some more with your big pretty doe eyes he might forget about the food entirely and just give us those five stars. That would be amazing, wouldn‘t it? Imagine how many new customers we‘d get!“
Jungkook pulled a face. „I like the ones we already have. And I‘m not making eyes at him for some stupid rating.“
Taehyung chuckled „Oh but you were already making eyes at him long before you knew who he was so I‘m not asking you to do anything different from last time, you can simply continue doing it!“
Jungkook was glad to have an excuse to vanish and just leave Taehyung standing when he was called back into the kitchen.
-`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´- -`♥´-
Jimin was confused. Taehyung was still blocking his way and the box with vegetables that he was supposed to deliver was starting to get heavy. „So what you‘re saying is that I can‘t put the vegetables into the kitchen because Jungkook, our innocent sweet little Kookie, is currently flirting heavily in there with a certain Min Yoongi?“ He snorted „Taetae, did you drink the leftover wine again?“
Teahyung shook his head vehemently and then placed a finger on his lips to ask Jimin to be quiet before he carefully opened the door to the kitchen just a few inches. Jimin blinked.
In there were the two people Taehyung had mentioned, standing really close together and obviously so enamoured with each other that they were blind to everything else that was going on around them (including poor suppliers who had to carry heavy boxes with vegetables). Jungkook was leaning against the counter, his eyes completely fixated on Yoongi‘s face, who looked like he was just as starstruck by the boy in front of him, saying something that Jimin couldn‘t hear from afar before he leaned in, close...closer…only a hair‘s breadth away from Jungkook‘s lips…
Taehyung shut the door before Jimin could catch them actually making out. „How?!“ was all he managed to say, finally giving up on getting into the kitchen anytime soon and placing the box with his deliveries aside.
„Apparently Yoongi fell in love with the food and then with Jungkookie right after. His way of getting Kookie‘s attention was to give him a 300 $ tip..“
Jimin sighed „Oh my, I wish someone would tell me that they liked me in exactly that way!“ Taehyung playfully hit him for it. „I can give you thirty dollars after I‘ve gotten my paycheck.“ Jimin chuckled. „Hm, no, I didn‘t mean like as a loan.“ Taehyung sighed. Sometimes his friend was really dense.
Jimin cocked his head aside „So is that a one time thing or will I have to find another place to put my deliveries from now on?“
Taehyung shrugged his shoulders. „Well, they meet up like this two or three times a week and probably think that we don‘t know about their relationship even though it‘s painfully obvious that they‘re stupidly in love with each other. You should see the way Yoongi looks at Jungkook even when they are just talking about the most tedious things - and you only have to mention Yoongi‘s name to make Jungkook all shy and giggly by now.“
Jimin smiled fondly at that. He was happy for Kook although there might be a hint of envy as well. Who wasn‘t dreaming of a love like that. „I see. Maybe they‘ll move their ‚secret dates‘ to someplace else if we tell them that basically everyone knows about them so that the kitchen will be free again.
Who knew they would go from strangers to lovers like that!“

Inarizaki morning thought. Day 30. One day boys and manager went to the cinema. At first, they wanted to watch romcom or melodrama because they wanted to put manager in a romantic mood. But manager wanted to watch anime movie (Miya twins endorsed her choice, because they wanted to watch it too). They did rock-paper-scissors for the place next to her. Manager called anime character cool with a twinkle in her eye. Boys finally knew, who her crush is. But this doesn't please them at all.
I really wonder who would be her type~ the boys seem to be ahead of us 😂💖
AHHH THE SEATINGS: okay let me just make a short list:
If she sits next to:
1. Atsumu: He talks a lot- HE JUST CANNOT SHUT UP, but makes some decent jokes and some surprisingly accurate predictions about the movie‘s end! Will talk a lot with you about the movie when it‘s over, he just gets absorbed really quick. Would share his nachos with you too, but insist on feeding you, cause he doesn’t want your hands to get dirty- would he drip some cheese on your clothes? Maybe, maybe... but 10 points for trying to be a gentleman! 💖
2. Osamu: somehow managed to sneak in some really nice homemade snacks, would share, but only with you! Is rather quiet and enjoys the movie, occasionally leans over to ask if you’re okay, and will always be happy when you lean towards him to whisper something in his ear- and he would totally grab your hands intense moments, just to make sure that you’re okay 🥺
3. Ginjima: idk why, but I feel like he is someone who just chews so loud- like he will get some nic nacs and the sound of him eating them echoes through the whole cinema- but he will offer you some, and always makes sure that your drinks are filled up!
4. Kita: Very concentrated, you can almost see how his brain works while he watches, he makes sure that his phone is muted when the movie starts, he got an extra large portion of popcorn for the two of you to share, he even knows your preferred taste 🥺 when he wants to say something, he would slightly tap on your hand first to get your attention, so that you could lean towards him, cause he doesn‘t want to disturb the others (he‘s glad that the dark hides his blush- DID I JUST SAY THAT AHHH-)
5: Suna: Gets a drink with two straws for you to share- be careful not to swap them! He also gets some haribos, but he prefers the most uncommon tastest so you’re like yum🙂 but he’d also get some normal ones for you, cause he is actually very observant! Often laughs at wrong times, but his laugh makes you laugh too, and at some point, I think that everyone in that room would hate the two of you for being loud at the most intense moments- and for being loud in general :,) but Suna couldn’t care less, he‘ll simply ignore the shhhhs and keep on laughing with you!
6. Aran: Quiet- but the good kind of quiet! Will not distract you when you watch the movie, but prefers to talk to you when it‘s over! He carries your drinks and definitely shares all of his snacks with you, he loves the mixes with nuts on them, cause they seem more healthy than most other snacks!! He sighs a lot at sad moments, and that’s so cute that you sometimes squeeze his hand 🥺 precious bby
I‘m sure that it‘s lots of fun!! 💖

Berlin City Girl [b.b.]
Pairing: Bucky x Reader Description: You decide to move to a completely new city that you’ve never been to before and ask your neighbor for some eggs. Prompt: Seeing a new city for the first time. For: @softbiker‘s challenge. Sorry, it’s suuuper late. Warnings: awkwarness, the title of this one shot should have a warning for German people my age lol, not proofread.
M A S T E R L I S T
This was a big thing to cross off your bucket list. Moving to a city you haven‘t been to before. Berlin, Germany. You had done a lot of research on the are you would be moving in. It was fairly central and you knew most people understood English there. It wasn‘t super cheap to live there, but definitely more affordable than living in New York City or Los Angeles. „Hallo.“ „Hello, I need to get to Friedrichshain.“ You showed the driver the address on the phone. Seeing the skyline was breathtaking, not New York breathtaking, but Berlin was still an amazing sight to see. It was afternoon by now and the warm light of the sun was letting the city shine in all its colors. That was your new home. The drive through the city was eye-opening. Driving through different parts of the city was like driving through different countries. Sometimes the houses looked super modern, sometimes super old. You knew you had a lot to explore here.
You‘ve never been so glad to move into an already furnished apartment. The two suitcases alone were already hard enough to get up the stairs. After taking a breather, sitting on top of your suitcases you finally gained back control over your lungs and got out your keys. Shk. Click. The door opened a bit automatically from the draft in the house. You fully opened it and walked into a living room filled with evening sunlight. After heaving in your suitcases you went on a little tour of your new home. You‘d only seen it through the screen until now. Big living room, average-sized bedroom with a full-sized bed and a fairly small bathroom, but there were always sacrifices to make. In this case it was a bathtub. Laying on your new couch you contemplated to go grocery shopping or not. You were already completely ruined from the long flight and would rather ask a neighbor for some eggs or something like that. But you had also learned that Germany mostly are grumpy when it comes to the topic of neighbors. You figured it‘s because all of them had that distanced approach and nobody actually tried to go towards each other. With a shrug you corrected your hair in the mirror next to the door and grabbed your keys. Three knocks. Shuffling behind the door. A door being slightly opened with a safety lock still visible. An incredibly blue eye looked at you and you offered a smile, „Hey, I‘m Y/N. I just moved in across and wanted to ask if you had maybe some eggs you could borrow me. I‘m totally obliterated by the 12-hour flight I just had.“ The pin of the safety lock was taken out and the door fully opened. Now you saw both ocean blue eyes and the size of the man living across from you. „Oh, yeah, sure. Gimme a second.“ He mumbled almost shy before vanishing from the door to shuffle through his kitchen. You took a tiny peek inside and saw a rather grey-ish interior. There was some red and mint here and there, but mostly the apartment was decorated very monotone. He came out of his kitchen door with a box of six eggs, „These should be fine.“ „Thank you so much. When I go grocery shopping tomorrow I‘ll bring you some again.“ You smiled at him gratefully. „You don‘t have to...Y/N was the name, right?“ You nodded, „My name‘s Bucky.“ „Nice to meet you, Bucky. You‘re also American?“ You asked. „Yes, from Brooklyn.“ He smiled politely. „Always wanted to visit New York City.“ You gave a little dreamy expression. „It‘s a nice place.“ He shrugged with a big grin on his face. „Well, uh, I‘m gonna make myself dinner. See you around, Bucky.“ You took a step back with the eggs in your hand. „See you around, Y/N.“ With that smile the door closed. You felt like you knew his face from somewhere, but you couldn‘t quite put your finger on it. The only category you could put him in was, „Something before the blip.“ You had been one of the 50% that was gone for 5 years. Thankfully that also meant your savings account had continued for the 5 years you were gone. With a bowl of scrambled eggs you sat down in front of your laptop and watched some Youtube videos for basic German. „Hello, Hallo. How are you, wie geht es dir? Left, links. Right, rechts. Forward, geradeaus. Can I have ___, Kann ich ___ haben? Why, warum? Where, wo? What, was? Who, wer? How, wie? She, sie. He, er. They, es.“ You watched these a few times a week to at least understand the basics. You didn‘t know how big the grin was on the other side of that living room wall. Your pronunciation was cute, but you didn‘t know that. The next morning was spent with getting breakfast and some other things in the Späti down the street and then unpacking your suitcases. „I should bake. This place still smells so stale.“ You mumbled when you looked into the fridge for the third time that hour. So you started making cookies from scratch, spending the better part of your morning in your kitchen and browsing decor while waiting for the cookies to bake. Right after you put the cookies onto the counter to cool down there were two knocks on your door. You peaked through a slightly opened door to see Bucky standing there. In full light your neighbor looked even better. In his hands was a vase full of flowers. „Oh, hey, Bucky.“ You smiled and opened the door fully. „Um, hey. Just thought a welcome gift would be appropriate.“ He smiled and held out the white vase filled with tulips. „Oh god, thank you. You didn‘t have to! I know Germans usually don‘t do this, so I didn‘t really expect anything.“ You looked back up to the giant man looking past you, his nose moving. „I just made cookies to get the dusty smell out of the apartment. If you wanna come in we can wait together till they are cooled down.“ You smiled up and he looked at you with a first reluctant but then eager nod. „Ignore the dust on the furniture. My morning consisted of anything but cleaning.“ You chuckled. „Oh, I don‘t mind if there are cookies.“ He chuckled. He looked so scarily big, but you could already see the softie behind those muscles. „Patience. I just got them out.“ You raised a brow and he innocently stood there and looked up while you put the vase in the center of the kitchen isle, desperately trying to find two other decor pieces to make it look better. Before you could even react his left hand had reached for one, „Hey! They are still hot, don‘t burn yourse-“ You looked at his left hand, just now noticing the different colored fingers and it clicked. „Oh, that‘s why I know your face.“ You facepalmed yourself and got a chuckle back. Great, your neighbor wasn‘t just nice, but also a supersoldier with an assassin past. Better not fuck it up with him. „I bet that‘s one of the best things to use that arm for.“ You pointed out and caught him off-guard. „You know, getting food out of the oven without mittens. Stealing burning hot food. That kinda stuff.“ You shrugged and got a laugh back. „Sure, it has its benefits in the kitchen.“ He smiled at you brightly. You had already made a friend in Berlin and you hadn‘t even left the house to meet anyone. „I can show you around a bit if you want, by the way.“ He suggested while stealing another cookie. „I‘d love that.“ You shook your head as he innocently ate the cookie. „Manchild.“

Buddie lifeguard AU 🌸 Part 5
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4
Read on Ao3
“Hey Buck, how’s the pretty head?“
“Hey Buck, your head ok?“
“Hey Buck.“
Eddie deletes the message and tries again. He’s trying to find the right words to text Buck for ten minutes now but he can’t form a good sentence. He scratches at his head and sighs.
“Hi Buck, you up for a drink?“
Eddie stares at his phone again. Would he even be up for a drink? What if his head was more hurt than he thought. He’d called the hospital in the evening to check if Buck was still there, but the annoyed nurse on the phone didn’t give him any informations. Which Eddie knows is rigth, since he’s not a relative of Buck. He’s been lying awake all night though, thinking about texting Buck or not.
He’s still worried in the morning and decides to finally send Buck a quick message. The words just don’t want to come to him.
Eddies sighs again and deletes the message. Just when he wants to put his phone away, it rings and he almost drops it on the floor. Eddie stares at his phone in confusion and blinks at the caller ID showing up.
It’s Buck.
How does he have his number? Eddie doesn’t remember giving it to him. Eddies hands start to sweat and he giggles weirdly. He shakes his head at himself in annoyance. Get a grip Eddie and answer the call.
Just when his finger hovers over the caller button, the sounds stops. It goes to voice mail. Eddie curses and throws himself back on the couch. He really wants to talk to Buck. He doesn’t know why it’s so hard for him or actually he does know. He really likes Buck and he doesn’t want to ruin things with him.
The phone starts ringing again and Eddie lunges forward to grab his phone answering it immediately.
“Buck, hey how are you? Everything ok? How do you have my number?“
Eddie squeezes his eyes shut when he only hears Bucks breathing on the other side. How awkward was that.
“Hello to you too, Eddie.“
Eddie hears Buck laugh and his heart beats against his ribcage way too fast.
“Oh, oh yeah hi. Erm …“
“You ok over there, Eddie?“
Eddie coughs awkwardly and rubs his fingers along his thighs. God, he’s being weird and Buck’s gonna hang up on him any second.
“I’m … I’m good … yeah thanks.“
“Good. I asked Maddie to ask Chim for your number because I wanted to say thanks for helping me yesterday. I guess, I was a bit of a mess. Sorry.“
Eddie imagines Buck sitting on his couch in his appartment, alone, head bowed, sad eyes, thinking he’s been a burden to Eddie because he was involved in the accident. Eddie suddenly can‘t bare the thought of Buck being sad. He takes a deep breath and his voice comes out soft and calm.
“Hey, no it’s ok Buck, I am glad I was there to help you. You been a hero helping everyone else, even though you were hurt. How’s the head by the way, what did the doctor say?“
He hears Buck sigh on the other end.
“Slight concussion. I’ve got a hard head. I’m just annoyed that I can’t work for the rest of the week.“
Eddie chuckles. Of course he can’t sit still and rest. Buck always wants to be on the move, always wants to help.
“Right back into action, huh.“
Buck laughs and he sounds happier.
“Yeah you know me, I always need stuff to do. That’s why I was thinking if you and Chris might wanna come around on the weekend for a beach day? Hang out and stuff.“
For the first time Eddie thinks he can hear Buck being a bit insecure and it’s actually kinda cute. Eddies heart jumps a bit because he’d hang out with Buck every day, if he’s honest.
“Erm yeah I guess. I think Chris would love to see you again.“
And me too thinks Eddie but doesn’t say it out loud.
“Yeah that’s cool. Maybe we can jump on a surfboard or something. Just yeah, cool.“
“Sounds like a date then, eh I mean yeah we can do that, yes. Text me where and when, but we’re free the whole weekend, so whenever you want.“
“Cool. Then see you on the weekend Eddie. And thanks again.“
“Don’t mention it, someone has to lookt out for that pretty head of yours.“
Eddie bites at his lip when he finishes his sentence but he’s only getting Buck laugh as a reply. He hangs up and throws himself back at the couch, covering his eyes with his arms. Why is he always so awkward around Buck. That guy really had a number on him huh.
---------------------
“Daaaadd, are you coming.“
Christopher‘s already standing at the door waiting for Eddie to go. He‘s checking his beach bag again, just in case, so he doesn‘t forget anything. He’s not mentionioning the four times he looked in the mirror to check that his hairs sits right. Chimne would make fun of him if he was here.
“Yeah buddy, I‘m coming.“
His son was all hyped up and excited when he told him that they’re gonna hang out with Buck on the beach on the weekend. He counted the days and Eddie has to admit he did so too.
He walks out oft he bathroom and grabs his bag. One last check on his hair again and then he’s opening the door for Chris to walk outside.
“Ready superman?“
Chris nods and smiles happily at his father. The drive over to the beach doesn’t take long and when Eddie parks the car in the carpark, he sees Buck waiting at the beach house. He quickly helps his sound oft he car and they walk over to where Buck is waiting.
As soon as Buck sees the two of them he runs over and grabs Chris underneath his arms and throws him around. Chris giggles and holds tight at Bucks arms.
“Hey kiddo, I missed you.“
Bucks eyes are wide and shine bright, he’s got a huge grin on his face. Eddie notices the bandaid on his head though and his cheek bone looks a bit swollen. Probably from where he hit his head on the steering wheel.
When Buck puts his son down again, the little boy frowns and point his finger to Bucks head.
“Are you ok Buck, you got a bandaid there?“
Buck kneels down in front of the kid.
“Don’t worry, just a little bump, my heads tough.“
He smiles again and bumps his son on the nose, who immediately lights up again. They both turn around and look over to where Eddie’s standing with the bag.
“Hi Eddie, nice to see you.“
Buck looks good with his swim shorts and the white shirt, he’s wearing. It’s sitting thight around his torso and Eddie can see his abs shining through. He blushes a bit and shakes himself to focus back on Buck.
“Hi Buck, thank you for inviting us.“
“You need help with your stuff?“
Buck points at Eddies bag.
“No, no I’m fine, you go ahead.“
Buck nods and crouches down in front of Chris again.
“Hop my little man, lets see if we’re faster than your daddy.“
Chris grins and carefuly climbs on Bucks back. Buck takes his crutches and starts running.
The boy is jumping up and down on Bucks back and Eddie can her his happy screams.
“Last one‘s the looser.“
Eddie chuckles and follows Buck and his son over to the beach.
When he reaches the water he sees Buck running along the beach jumping up when the water hits his feet. His son‘s still clinging onto his back and every time he jumps, he laughs loudly.
Christopher looks up and sees him standing there, his smile even bigger now.
“We won daddy, we won.”
Buck stops and walks over to where Eddie‘s standing in the sand.
“Your dad’s slower than a turtle isn’t he.”
Buck chuckles and brushes against Eddies shoulder with his hand.
Eddie looks at his shoulder where Buck just touched him and then back to Buck. The other man’s smiling brightly at him. Tiny water droplets are running down his cheeks, over his delicate jawline and down his throat and disppear under his shirt. Eddie catches a glimps of a tiny birthmark sitting there.
His son tugging at his shorts starles him and he looks at him.
“Dad, can I try some surfing, please, please.”
Eddie looks over to where the surfboards are lying in the sand.
“I’ll hold him the whole time Eddie. He’ll be safe. I promise.”
Buck doesn’t have to promise him. He knows he’ll keep his son safe. Chris walks in front of him and looks at him with his best puppy eyes.
“Please dad, please.”
Buck stands himself behind his son and gives him his best happy smile.
“Ah, I hate you two.”
Chris claps his hands together in joy.
“Oh, you love us, dad.”
Eddie tousles through his sons hair and presses a kiss on his forehead.
“Yeah, yeah I do.”
Buck winks at Eddie before he walks over to get the surfobards and a life vest for Christopher. Eddie puts the towels in the sand and sits himself down to keep an eye on his son and Buck.
Buck carefully puts the life vest on Chris, always talking to him. He must have made a joke because his son holds his tummy and can‘t stop laughing. Buck takes his hand and helps him going over to the water. He puts the surfboard in the water and lifts Christopher on it. He sits himself behind the kid and slowly paddles away, into the small waves at the shore.
His son holdss his hands into the water. He looks so happy and excited and it warms Eddies heart. Buck somehow always senses what the kid needs or wants. It’s beautiful to watch the two of them togehter. His son‘s grown to trust Buck really fast but Eddies doesn‘t blame him because he himself has that feeling of calmness and saftey when he’s around Buck.
When he looks back at the water he sees Buck lift his son onto the surfboard now so he‘s standning on it.
His son waves at him, eyes bright.
“Look daddy, look I’m a surfer.”
Eddie gets up from where he’s sitting, to have a better view at them.
“Yes, you are my little super man, you are. You’re doing awesome.”
Buck lets go of Christophers hands and the last wave takes the kid onto to beach. The board stops abruptly, but Buck‘s already there catching the boy, before he falls over. He lifts him up again and Chris climbs on his back. They both walk over to Eddie.
“This was amazing bud, you did so well.”
Chris is still super hyper and he can’t stop smiling.
“Did I look like a real surfer?
Eddie takes him into a hug and rubs at his back.
“You did buddie, you did.”
He lets go of Chris and hands him a bottle of water.
“Thanks Buck, this was awesome.”
Buck nods.
“No problem. He’s a natural. You wanna have a go, too?”
Eddies puts his hands in the air and waves around.
“What me? No I don’t think…”
“Oh yes daddy, I wanna see you surf.”
Eddie nervously rubs at his arms.
“I don’t think I can.”
“Buck can help you, can’t you Buck?”
Buck taps on Chris shoulder gently.
“Course I can, If your dad wants to try?”
Buck looks at him with questioning eyes.
“You wanna try?”
“Ok, ok i’ll give it try.”
Chris applauds him and sits down on the towel. Both men walk over to the surfboards and Buck takes his shirt off and throws it in the sand.
Eddie can’t help and look at him. He’s got goosebump on his skin, probably from the cold water earlier. A tiny droplet runs down his chest, all the way down to his navel. Eddie takes in a harsh breath when he can see a blue bruise running from his shoulder square over his chest, down to his abdomen.
Buck notices where Eddies looking at.
“Seatbealt. Looks worse than it is, doesnt even hurt anymore.”
Eddie wants to run his finger along the bruise, wants to check if there’s more damage. Broken ribs or anything.
“Eddie I’m fine.”
Bucks voice getting louder snaps him out of his trance.
“Good, that’s good. I’m glad.”
Suddenly Bucks hand appears in front of his face.
“Get on the surfboard, Diaz.”
Buck smiles and Eddie thinks the blue of the ocean makes his eyes look even bluer and more magical.
He takes the other mans hand and lets himself be helped on the board. His first surfing attempts are awkward and Eddie thinks he’s absolute awful in doing this. Bucks smiles and the other mans support makes him want to try again.
Suddenly there’s a wave crashing right in front of them and the movement of the water throws Eddie forward and off the surfboard. Buck lunges forward to stop Eddies fall but his foot gets stuck under the board and he falls backwards into the sand, followed by Eddie, who lands on top of him. Eddie opens his eyes and looks at Buck the other man’s eyes are wide and so so blue, it’s like the ocean is mirroring it‘s color in them. Eddie feels the water washing over his legs. His legs which are resting inbetween Bucks. He can feel Bucks hip move under him, his abs being strained against the weight on top of him and Eddie remembers the bruise on the other man’s chest. Bucks arms lie rigth and left, next to his body. Eddie’s arms are in the sand right next to Bucks head. The other man looks at him with a smile. His lips are pink, so pink and Eddie wishes he’d know how they taste. There’s those tiny freckles around his nose and Eddie thinks Buck has the prettiest eyelashes he’s ever seen. Tiny water drops are clinging onto them and sparkle in the sun. He can see another scar on his forehead probably from work. It’s all healed and looks white and faint against his skin. Eddie slowly lifts his one hand and holds it against Bucks cheek. It’s like the other man’s skin is sparkling with the sea salt sitting on it. Buck is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Eddie feels the other man move underneath him, his hips grinding against him. Buck licks at his lips and it’s driving Eddie insane.
“Eddie.“
Bucks voice is soft and barely a whisper. His chest feels tight and he just realizes now that they’re both topless and their skin touches the other. He can almost feel Bucks heartbeat against his. Buck moves his fingers to Eddies wrist holding it gently. He looks at him with bright eyes.
“Daddy, Buck are you two ok?”
Christopher appears next to the two men and rips them out of their little moment. Eddies tongue feels heavy though and he can’t get a word out, instead he hears Buck answer. His voice making his chest vibrating against his.
“We’re good kid. The sand softened our fall. Guess your dad needs to practice a bit more.”
Buck laughs and Eddie can feel his stomach muscles move under him.
“Can you maybe, get up. You’re heavier than you look.”
Eddie blinks at Buck confused, still being mesmerized by the other man’s presence.
“Oh, yeah sorry. Thanks for cushioning my fall, I guess.”
“No, problem.”
Eddie carefully shuffles backwards and gets up. The holds his hand towards Buck and helps him get up.
They’re both wet and full of sand.
“What about we jump in the water a bit to get the sand off and then we’ll get some ice cream? How does that sound.“
Christophers takes his fathers hand and his other finds its way over to Bucks hand. Holding them both tight he pulls them over to the water. Eddie thinks this might be a bit too much for Buck, but when he looks over to the other man he’s smiling and follows his sons lead. Eddie thinks it’s a nice picture. Buck being a part of this, being a part of their family.
Buck lets go of the boys hand and starts splashing water around and hits Eddie right in the face. Christopher screams and laughs loudly. They all start to splash water around till they’re all wet and tired and their stomachs hurt from all the laughing and they decided to call it a day and head home in a bit.
Eddie packing the bags already when Buck comes back with three big ice cream cups. They’d built a sandcastle earlier and Chris is sitting next to it. Buck hands the ice cream to Chris, who excitingly licks at it.
The other man then walks over to where Eddies packing their stuff togehter and motions for him to sit down and take the ice cream. Buck sits himself down next to Eddie. Chris is couple of meters in front of them hungrily licking at his icream and watching the ocean.
Eddie gently bumps his leg against Bucks.
“Thank you Buck. You made this one really happy.”
Buck turns his head over to Eddie.
“Just this one?” He points over to Chris and then puts his hand on Eddies thigh.
“Or this one aswell?”
Eddie swallows hard. Buck’s incredibly close to him now, he can see the tiny sand grains sitting on his skin. He blushes and nervously licks at his ice cream.
“Eddie.”
He looks back at Buck and he’s so close. His eyes are so blue. Buck licks at his lips and Eddie wants to kiss him so badly.
He puts his hand over Bucks, that is still resting on his thigh.
“Yeah, this one too.”
“Yeah?”
Christopher yelling for them, interrupts them again and both men get up to bring the bags over to the car. Buck carefully buckles Chris into the car and says his goodbyes.
“Thanks again, Buck.”
“No problem, it was a great day. Your kid is great.”
Buck leans forward and before Eddie can react, the other mans lips connect with his cheek. They’re soft and warm and Buck smells like sand and sea water.
“See you, Eds.”
Buck slowly moves his face away and winks at him one more time before he walks over to his own truck. Eddie gently taps at his cheek where moments before Bucks lips had been resting.
He feels like he’s in a kind of trance when he watches Buck drive away and he thinks he might be in love.
In love with Buck.

────── ·❆· ──────
“Hey, Cap. Who’s this beauty?” was the first sentence you heard when you entered the compound after getting off the quinjet with Steve and Wanda.
Your head snapped up towards the person for a second before you lowered you gaze as you saw him looking at you. Your cheeks burned under the man’s detailed inspection. You continued walking by Steve’s side with your gaze stubbornly focused on the floor, refusing to look at the stranger again. Even when he was offering you a friendly grin.
And then Steve stopped as a hand appeared in your field of vision. You obediently accepted, politely meeting the man’s eyes. He was grinning widely now, white teeth in stark contrast to his dark skin, and instead of shaking your hand, he planted a tiny kiss on its back. You blushed harder which made his eyes sparkle with mischief.
“Sam Wilson, ma’am.”
You whispered your name shyly, just knowing Steve rolled his eyes at the guy. You were slowly realizing who this Sam Wilson could be. The Falcon. The guy who had helped Steve and Natasha during the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., probably saving their lives on multiple occasions. You owed him big time.
“It’s very nice to meet you, Sam Wilson.”
“You’re even cuter in person.”
“Uhm, I—… thanks?” you stuttered, eyeing Steve questioningly.
He shot Sam a pointed look saying ‘that would be enough, pal,’ and you bit your lip, wondering what that was about. Sam was happy to deliver.
“No wonder I found Cap staring at your picture as if it was a relic. Should’ve seen him-“
“Yeah, okay, let’s move on,” Steve interjected as your lips parted in surprise and Steve grabbed your forearm as gently as a supersoldier could and led you further into the base.
You only managed to wave at Sam awkwardly and he waved back before turning to talk to Wanda. Steve cleared his throat as the door clicked shut behind you two and you found yourselves in a long corridor with a line of windows instead of walls.
“He— we were hiding at his place before taking down S.H.I.E.L.D. It was… I needed a moment-” he stumbled over his words and you covered his hand with yours, unable to stop the smile attacking your lips.
He seemed embarrassed, but you… you were just moved. He had been thinking of you. Even in difficult times. He truly must have been looking for you the whole time. He had cared that much.
Naturally, with the warming feeling came a pang of shame. Guess you would have to get used to the sinking feeling in your stomach now whenever you would be reminded of the mess you had made.
The flight to the compound had been rather silent, occasionally filled with catching up on the big events for the Avengers, but it had never got too personal. You weren’t sure of the boundaries, so you danced around each other carefully – and Sam Wilson had prodded them big time. It was a bit uncomfortable, more so for Steve. So you offered something in return.
“I have a picture too, you know,” you admitted quietly, and Steve’s blue eyes met yours with an undeniable spark of relief. “It was stupid and reckless to have it on me, but… yeah.”
He just shook his head and started walking again. But he let go of your forearm in favour to take your hand. You could sense the hesitation radiating from him at the action, the same kind he could probably feel from you. So you interlaced your fingers with his, letting him know you were willing to go as far he would lead you.
Peripherally, you could see him smile. You fell into what could be a comfortable silence as you made your way through, barely meeting a soul. It was why it surprised you when Steve stopped abruptly. You quickly followed his example, looking at him in silent question.
His expression was serious and… bashful? Ashamed?
“There’s something you should know about. And… more importantly, you need to know it didn’t mean anything.”
You froze, vainly attempting to brace yourself for whatever was to come. Oh god. What now? ‘Didn’t mean anything?’ If it was any other guy, you would swear he was about to tell he had cheated on you. Which technically couldn’t happen, because you had left without a word, and you were not really— a couple, so it would be cheating and-
“Yes?” you forced out the single word, vainly trying to cover the nervousness.
Steve gulped, looking at you as if he broke your favourite toy or something.
“I kissed Natasha.”
You blinked, unable to process the words he said.
“I beg your pardon?”
“Actually, she kissed me! It wasn’t— it didn’t mean-- it was for the mission! STRIKE was after us and she said that--- and then she---- and I had to-“
You watched him as he was struggling with words, his cheeks coloured with the subtlest shade of red, utterly embarrassed and still sounding so guilty. Your brain slowly caught up with what he was saying and then you couldn’t help it. You burst out laughing.
Steve stopped in midsentence – or in mid-whatever, really – and stared at you, confused. You laughed harder, the sound seemingly so foreign to you after such a long time.
“PDA, right?” you explained instead of him and he tilted his head, his mouth moving with no sound coming out. “She kissed you so no one would look at you too closely.”
“How-“
“Steve, you weren’t the only one to train me, remember? She did too. And she has her ways.”
“…oh. So… that means you’re… okay with that?”
“Steve, I would have no right to be mad in the first place. I… I lost the right the moment I left,” you added silently, a lump suddenly growing in your throat as the conversation took a very different turn.
“That’s not-“
“And even so, I understand. I would have done the same. Hell, I would have kissed Natasha myself and I’m not into women.”
“I’m flattered,” sounded from your right and you jumped away from Steve, your head snapping the direction of the new and yet so familiar voice. You heart fluttered happily at the sight of your friend. Or… maybe ex-friend, after the stunt you had pulled out.
“…Hey, Natasha.”
“Frosty,” she greeted you with a nod, taking few steps closer and that was all she did. You awkwardly rubbed your fingers as your arms itched to hug her.
“I… uhm… how are you lately?”
Natasha raised her perfect eyebrow in silent challenge, approaching you slowly with her eyes intently fixed on you. You fought against gulping in fright; that was Agent Romanoff approaching and she was intimidating as hell.
But the redhead stopped a step in front of you, still holding your gaze.
“Good work with staying of the grid. I‘m proud of you. ”
Your eyes went wide, your heart positively skipping a beat. You had heard wrong, right? Did Natasha just… compliment you on your hiding skills instead of telling you that you had been an idiot? You opened your mouth, no sound coming out. You were standing there in stunned silence, just staring at her strict features, her expression nothing but honest. She actually was proud of you.
Come again?
“Uhm… thanks. But I was found…?”
She snorted. “Frosty? You were never taught how to avoid a damn mind-reader. We’ll work on that.”
You gave her an unsure smile. “Thanks, Tasha. I learned from the best.”
She smirked and gave you a short hug you instantly melted into. “Sure did. Looking forward to next movie night. We’re watching the adaptation of Dostojevskij’s Idiot.”
You froze as she let go of you. Well. You never read it or saw the movie, you had no idea what the plot was, but you were sure it wasn’t important – you got the message. Natasha watched you with a gleam of coldness in her eyes and an icy smile, finally truly open.
Well. Shit.
“You are mad at me,” you stated, your voice strangled. Her wolfish smile widened.
“I’m pissed, Frosty. Furious. But also glad you’re home. I haven’t decided yet. But you should watch your back for when I will.”
And with a wink, she walked out of the room, abandoning you and Steve. You bit your lip, slowly turning to him, Natasha’s reaction feeding the guilt in you. How much was Steve actually angry with you? How much more than he was letting on?
He gave you a soft smile as he noticed the bashful look in your eyes, in the eyes of a frightened animal and guilty child who knew they had done something really wrong. With two long steps, he was right in front of you, gently wrapping his arms around you. You buried your face to his chest and curled into his form, even when you had no right to accept the comfort he was offering.
“I am so sorry, Steve. I promise I never wanted to-“
Steve placed a tender kiss on the top of your head, his warm hand caressing your back. You felt the tears gathering in your eyes again. The moment they started soaking his t-shirt, he sighed and embraced you tighter.
“Hey, none of that. You heard her – yes, she’s angry. We all are, but that’s because we care for you so much and we missed you. When you were gone… things weren’t exactly easy. Not just because of you not being with us, but in general.”
“I’m so sorry I wasn’t there when the S.H.I.E.L.D. fell and when Bucky— and the robot apocalypse-“ you sobbed, a pitiful and lame action, but you just couldn’t stop. You wanted him to know how sorry you were, even when all you had done had been trying to protect him, but you needed to start making it up to him and not… not seeking comfort.
“And we all know that. And we know why you did what you did, Snowflake.”
“Listen to the old man, he’s right,” a confident voice exclaimed behind you and you honest to god yelped. Thank god the noise was muffled by Steve’s t-shirt. You jerked from his grip, spinning to Tony, only to meet his grin. “Hey, Elsa. I’m out of dried blueberries. Lend a hand to a sugar-deprived genius?”
His tone was so easy despite you knowing for a fact that you had given him sleepless nights and a whole shit-tone of work; there was really no choice to make. You paced to him, throwing your arms around him, making him swing a little as your bodies collided. What was he doing here? Steve had told you he was in mostly in the Tower…?
Tony chuckled, automatically returning the hug, if more gently. You squeezed him tighter, ignoring the metal on his chest digging into your own sternum.
“I’m sorry, Tony.”
“Yeah, I know, kid. Welcome home.”
“Oh. Are we doing a group hug? ‘Cause I’m up for one,” Clint exclaimed somewhere on your right and a second later, he joined the mess of tangled limps.
“It is a lovely sight of a family reunion,” a new voice commented and you blinked your eyes open. It didn’t sound threatening and Steve was not part of the group hug, so you assumed he had the situation under control and the stranger wasn’t a threat.
Though… he did look pretty strange. He was not human for sure, hovering two feet above the floor, a long cape falling from his shoulders, giving him an aura of royalty. His lips (lips?) curled up in a small smile. You remembered him faintly from Steve’s memories, but you couldn’t quite place him.
“Welcome home, Lady of Ice.”
Oh. Definitely a friend of Thor’s. That would explain the cape too.
“Thank you,” you choked out, not really able to breathe as your non-related father and uncle kept you strangled. “Sir.”
“I’m Vision, but I’m sure there will be time for introductions later. Captain,” he beckoned to Steve and… flew away through the wall.
Your mouth fell open, but you let it slide. There would be time later indeed. You weren’t planning on going anywhere.
You were home. And it wasn’t a place. Home was people.
────── ·❆· ──────
You weren’t surprised to find out there was an accommodation complex at the base, but what had surprised you a little – and it shouldn’t, not really – was that Steve was staying at the same floor as the rest of the soldiers. While he had told you he had a room for himself, it was still an undeniable proof of him trying to fit in, at least in a way. It brought a smile to your lips.
He unlocked one of the door near the end of the corridor, pushing it open to reveal a rather simple room; single bed with a bedside table, a couch and a plain wooden table with a single chair by it. There was another door, to a bathroom you assumed. It was no five-star hotel, but you weren’t expecting it – in fact, it was way better than you could ask for.
You hesitantly entered the space, noticing a small closet in the corner. The room was more than you could ask for, but it was painfully empty. Just like you were used to.
“So… that’s your room for now. Mine’s just the next-door if you needed anything,“ Steve whispered and you turned back to him, finding him standing in the doorway.
And with that sight, the room suddenly looked way brighter. Warmer. Homey. It wasn’t hard to figure out why.
“Can I sleep in yours?” you blurted out hastily. A second after, you clasped your hand over your mouth as his eyes widened. What did you just say?! “I mean— I didn’t-- of course I can’t, that was stupid--- I just---- I- I forgot my bag on the jet, I’m just gonna-“
“Uhm. I mean… we can find you a different room if this isn’t-“
“No! That’s not— I… I take the couch. I just… I… I don’t want to sleep alone. It’s stupid. It’s ridiculous, I know, it’s just-“ you stuttered, unable to meet his gaze, looking everywhere but at him.
The silence fell onto the room like a heavy blanket for what felt like eternity and you bit your lower lip. You couldn’t bear the silence anymore and Steve was apparently not about to break it. When you glanced at him, you could see a soft smile spread on his lips and he took few steps towards you, his eyes roaming your face.
“You can sleep wherever you like. I’d offer sharing my room myself, but I… I wasn’t sure, I didn’t want to make you… uncomfortable,” he offered gently and you bit your lip harder.
You stared into his honest eyes, drowning in the hesitant hope behind the sea of blue. You hated yourself for making him feel this way – for making him feel like he needed to hope you wanted to be with him. And yet, you felt so warm under his gaze, still loved despite not deserving it at all. Perhaps it was not surprising – Steve had troubles letting people go, holding onto them until their last breath. You didn’t think you were worthy of it, but it was not up to you to decide and you weren’t about to reject the blessing. Question it, maybe, but never reject.
You reluctantly raised your palm to his face, your trembling fingers brushing his jaw.
“How are you still treating me like this? I don’t— I hurt you. I-“
His hand caught your daring one, pressing it against his cheek firmly.
“I told you, Snowflake,” he breathed and your heart stopped at the addressing, so tender and filled with affection. “I’m whatever you need me to be.”
When he pressed a tender kiss to your palm, while keeping his gaze locked into yours, you couldn’t bear it and looked away.
His arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you in, his lips moving impossibly close to your ear.
“Would you like to sleep in my room tonight?”
“Yes,” escaped your lips without thinking.
His embrace tightened as he gave a barely noticeable nod. “Would you let me kiss you?”
“Yes.”
And so he did. Slowly. Tenderly. Deeply. It took your breath away in every sense of the word and just like the last time you had received a kiss this intense, you let the tears damp your cheeks, spicing yours and Steve’s lips with salt.
Had he asked you if you would let him strip you and fuck you into a mattress, you would have said yes too. But he didn’t. Instead, he lifted you from the ground, his lips barely leaving yours, and carried you to his room bridal style, laying you on his bed.
Your bag forgotten, you fell asleep soon after your lips finally parted and he hid you in his protective arms.

finally fallin' chapter 2
<arón piper x reader>
(The spanish is all google translate, i wont take responsibility for mistakes)
chapter 2
„Hola" a tall, very handsome man with a silver hoop dangling from his ear and short brown hair spoke and got closer to the both of you.
His eyes were brown, light brown with a hint of green maybe. Plump, nice lips and a mole under his left eye.
He was wearing a loose blue polo shirt and some black jeans. Under the shirt you could see a silver necklace sparkling towards you.
You were startled by his appearance. He was really attractive to you and you had to do a lot not to start stuttering. „We talked before I think."
You shook his hand.
„Y/n, nice to meet you too."
He smiled brightly and gave you a long gaze before looking over to his friend.
It was quiet between you guys for a second until you broke the silence by saying:"Alright I wont bother you guys any longer, have a nice day you too."
Your „classmate" nodded and then asked:"Am I gonna see you in photography tomorrow?"
You nodded at him.
„Wait can I get your number so we can text each other if one of us is lost on campus or anything."
He laughed.
Excited you agreed and afterwards you put your number in his phone.
„Y/n ya?“ He asked as he read through it again.
„Yeah, and you?“
His friend Arón chuckled quietly and then replied for him:“His name is Itzan.“
Well at least now you knew his name.
„Alright.“ you laughed and pushed some hair out of your face.
„Okay see you tomorrow then." You put your phone back in your purse and said goodbye. „Hasta luego." He spoke as you slowly walked away, giving the tall handsome another glance, smiling.
He was really good looking, you'd already figured that and he seemed to be nice. He helped out his friend after all.
Since you had nothing else to do than get back to your place and unpack some last things that you hadnt gotten the chance to in the past week. Especially your clothes had to be sorted into your white wooden closet before they all got wrinkly and started to smell from your suitcases.
So you went on with it. After grabbing an apple you turned on some music and finally finished unpacking and decorating your place.
As you were about to turn on the tv and sat down on the bed you heard your laptop making a „ring" noise.
Email.
Who would send you an email nowadays?
You carefully grabbed your laptop, opened the mail service and started reading.
„Dear class,
I've had a good time today getting to know some of you and bringing you the fine arts of photography closer.
Due to the loose schedule we need to start soon with the practical work.
What I'd like you to do is, find yourself a group of other students in this course (2-4) and work on a photography series that expresses a certain feeling. The series should include 5 individual photographies that all somehow work together either in color moments, editing or background.
Find a nice location, take some shots and be creative with either photoshop or other photo editor programs.
You can be free in the choice of materials, if you'd like to use a professional camera, we can sort that out in our next class.
But using you phone would be enough for now.
I hope you're all having a wonderful day, see you in the next course.
Sandra Rodriguez"
Alright, you figured. No problem at all, you could ask Itzan if he wanted to work with you since he's the only person you've talked to so far. And it should be fun.
He was really handsome, maybe he'd be willing to be the model for this series.
He mustve gotten the email as well, so you decided to ask him the next day if he wanted to work on it with you.
So first things first, you wrote down some ideas you'd like to shoot and made some sketches on your iPad.
Afterwards you watched some shows for a while and then had a long phone call with one of your friends from back home.
You went to bed rather early this day just to feel good tomorrow for a rather long day. You had 4 different classes the next day. First course would be fine arts, starting at 9, then photography again and after that a class of media‘s. Then a 2 hour break and as a last class of the day you‘d have typography.
The class you were most excited about was media, you‘ve always wanted to design ads and stuff on medias.
And you were definitely going to talk to Itzan about the photography series project, but you were confident he‘ll say yes since he doesnt seem to be friends with anyone else yet.
*time skip to 2:45 next day*
„Hey.“ you greeted the dark haired boy who was sitting at a table in the middle of campus.
Itzan smiled at you. „Buenos dias.“
You smiled back and sat down next to him.
„How was your last class?“ You asked and took out the sandwich you had just bought.
Itzan leaned back and started telling you about his last informatics class that he already regretted taking.
„Aw man, i hope you can get out of it.“ you said with half your mouth full.
He nodded and replied:“Yeah i hope so too, how was yours?“
-„It was great! Media is fun, we were drawing some fruits on photoshop as a first practice.“
You guys kept on talking about your different classes until you decided it was time to brainstorm a bit for the photography project. Itzan actually had been the one to ask you if you wanted to work as a team which made you glad because that meant you didnt have to be awkward.
So first you showed him the ideas you had written down the previous night and he added some things he‘d like to do.
„Do you want to model this though?“ you laughed and looked up to him.
He gave you a disgusted look.
„No... Do I have to?“ he asked confused.
You started laughing from his reaction. „No you dont HAVE to, but i dont want to do it either.“
Just as he wanted to complain his phone rang.
„Its your boy.“ he grinned and picked up.
„Hola...“ he spoke into the phone and kept on speaking in Spanish so you didnt really understand.
„Maybe we could ask him!“ you suddenly exclaimed after thinking about it.
Itzan looked up to you and put the phone away from his ear for a second. „Arón?“ he asked.
You nodded.
He then laughed and seemed to actually ask Arón about it.
„He said no.“
You pouted and put your hand out to gesture you wanted the phone.
„Let me ask.“
Itzan grinned, said something to Arón and handed you the phone.
„Hey Arón.“ you spoke in your sweetest tone.
„I‘m not modeling for you.“ you heard his deep voice laugh.
„Come on, please, we need to do it and none of us wants to do it.“ you spoke and looked at Itzan who had just bitten into an apple.
„Y/n..“ you heard him sigh.
„Por favor.“
He started laughing. You immediately got concerned that he was laughing at your terrible Spanish pronunciation.
After a little bit of silence he answered:“Alright, when?“
You started cheering inside but just replied with a „ohh thank you, perfect!“
-„IF...“
he paused.
„You have to help me with something too.“
You waited for him to tell you what it was.
„Yeah what is it?“ you then asked since he didnt reply.
„Tell Itzan to give me your number, I‘ll text you tonight.“
You started smiling. A cute guy wanted something from you and said he‘d text you tonight.
„Will do! Thank you so much! Gracias.“
He laughed again and you symbolized Arón‘s approval by showing Itzan a thumbs up.
He grinned back at you.
„You‘re welcome, but i‘ll only do it if you help me with my project.“
-„Of course.“ you smiled and nodded. „Cant wait. Thanks, bye, ill give you back to Itzan.“
You heard him chuckle.
„Goodbye y/n.“
Smiling you handed the phone back and went back to eating your sandwich.
Itzan continued talking to Arón until looking at you for a second. He grinned and replied to Arón:“Lo se, ella es linda.“

Hopeful Return
A/N: also on ao3
"How would you feel if I give you your copy in person?”
“I ‘d like that. Very much.”
“Guess he isn’t coming back, is he?” Tina talked to herself with the magazine clenched in her hands, letting out a sound that’s half sigh, half humorless chuckle.
She screwed her eyes shut before the tears could tumble out.
She dropped the offending material on the dining table, glancing at the empty chair across her. Though her sister didn’t leave any clue of her whereabouts, Tina was willing to bet her Auror's badge that she was at Jacob’s, where she spent most her day off recently.
In the past few months of the No-Maj man regaining his memory —— she really wanted to question a certain magizoologist how that was even possible —— and being back to her sister’s life, all she felt was worried. Worried about what would happen if MACUSA found out, worried if her sister would be left heartbroken if the magic, figuratively speaking, wore out. Yet she had to admit that Queenie was so much happier, so she tried to be positive about it.
But today, after her heart getting shattered by a single piece of article, the thought of her sister was happily spending time with the man she wanted to be with, brought out a rare emotion in her.
Jealous.
‘How dare she get to cozy up with her man when you just lost yours.’ The monster with green eyes taunted her.
She killed it without a second thought. This just wasn’t like her. And it was her baby sister, for Morrigan’s sakes. All she had been doing after her parents’ death was making sure her sister was happy and healthy.
"And he's not mine to start with." She mumbled to herself.
Tina decided to take a walk to see if she could clear out all the ugly thoughts before Queenie got back. With the current state of her mind, she had no confidence to stop everything from slipping through her occlumency. The last thing she needed now was hurting her sister and starting a fight that might leave a scar between them forever.
Tina wandered around the neighborhood with no particular destination.
When she noticed where she ended up, she swore. Her subconscious just had to do the trick on her and led her to the magic bookstore she frequented.
And the owner, the kind and accommodating Mr. Wolinski, just happened to be outside and cleaning the storefront, which would appear like a small No-Maj grocery store until you entered the right way like every other wizardry property in the city. He spotted her and hailed at her eagerly.
“Oh, Tina! Tina my dear! It’s good timing you come!”
She cringed, knowing what awkward situation she was about to face. If she knew back then, maybe she wouldn’t bring Newt here and introduce him in his short stay after the incident. She just thought it’d help his book sale to aquatinted with one of the biggest wizardry booksellers in North America.
“Hello, Mr.Wolinski, how’s your day?” She forced herself to smile.
“Oh never been better! Because the books of your British fella just arrived! And people are already asking ‘bout it nonstop!”
"Ah, no, Mr. Wolinski, he is not——" She tried to correct the man, but he was already pulling her into the store.
“Come, come! I saved one for you before every one of them got snatched up!”
“Mr. Wolinski——“
“Here, my dear.” He practically shoved the book into her hand, leaving no chance for her to refuse.
All her resolve to give the book back crumbled when the feeling of holding the hardcovered book with breathtaking golden cover art started to imprint on her fingers.
This was his book.
The book she witnessed him poured all his love into.
And he used the title she blurted out at the dockside half year ago. She thought it was a good fit not only back then, but now as it proudly printed on his labor of love.
“I will look out for it, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.”
Oh, Mercy Lewis. He might not be able to keep his promise, whatever his reason was, but she wasn’t going to break hers.
No matter it was a promise made between friends or more.
She dug into her pocket only to find it empty as she never planned to buy anything when she came out earlier.
“Oh don’t worry, we can put you on the tab! You are one of my favorite customers after all! And thanks to your British, we will have a nice flow for a while no doubt! So I can even give you a discount, good?” Mr. Wolinski assured her when she explained her lack of money.
She only managed to thank him before he was needed by other customers and excused himself. She didn’t get to correct the man about Newt being her British. Again.
She sighed and walked out of the store with the book holding preciously in her arm.
Too many on her mind that she didn’t notice she walked straight into someone’s step.
“Ah! Sorry!”
“Oh, I‘m sorry!”
They apologized at the same time, and the familiar voice made her snapped her eyes up.
The man who was the very reason for her distraction stood right in front of her, eyes widened.
“Tina?”
“Newt? What are you doing here?” With all the emotion that had been building up since she read the magazine, her question came out more like an accusation.
She watched his line of sight landed on the book in her arms, and then his face turned from shock to desperate.
“I, I thought you would want me to give you the book in person.” He started to fidget in that way of his when he was stressed. “ And I was on the way to MACUSA to see if I could catch you there. I don't think Mrs. Esposito would be too pleased to see me at your flat.”
"Shouldn’t you stay in London preparing for the wedding?” Great, all she could talk about she went with that.
“The wedding?” He repeated her last words in great puzzlement she thought he was making fun of her in some way.
“Your own wedding, Mr. Scamander.”
"My what?"Was he really going to make her said it? She knew he was somewhat oblivious, but never thought he could be cruel.
“Your wedding with Leta!” She burst out, maybe a bit louder than she intended, causing him to take a step back startled.
“I am sorry, Tina, but you are sincerely confusing me,” He said, clearly intimidated by her outburst. “I’m not marrying Leta.”
“What? But the magazine——“
Oh for the love of Isolt, could she be that stupid?
“Tina? What magazine?”
She didn’t answer, thinking showing it to him would explain it better than words. So she took his arm, like when she tried to bring him in all those months ago, into the nearest alley where nobody was watching and apparated them straight back to her living room.
With relief that Queenie was still nowhere to be seen, Tina picked up the magazine she left on the table, handing it to Newt and muttered the page number of the articles she wanted to show him.
She only realizes he brought the case this time as well when she heard the sound it was placed on the floor. Oh well, it was going to be fun if Madam Picquery found out since she specifically warned him not to bring it into the State again. Only Merlin knew what he brought with him this time.
Her musing was interrupted by a series of mumblings that sounded like swearing.
“This article is stupidly wrong.” He said with exasperation, “You have to understand, Tina, it’s My brother, Theseus, is going to marry Leta. Not me.” He turned the magazine around and pointed at the other taller man in the picture who stood behind Leta.
She started to see it now after he pointed out, that Leta, while her hand was on Newt’s arm, was clearly standing closer to the other man; her back was practically leaning on his chest.
“Oh.”
“I don’t know how exactly that reporter could make this stupid mistake as I told him, with clear words, I am the best man, not the groom.”
Under normal circumstances, his bewilderment would amuse her, but now she just relieved that he was as upset as this whole situation and glad that he wasn’t engaged.
Something he said caught up in her mind.
“Wait, your brother? And you are going to be his best man? You are fine with that? ” She promised herself if Newt’s brother or Leta somehow forced him into this position then they were going to have some serious problem with her. She didn’t care if she had to go across the pond.
“Yes?” He frowned. “ Why wouldn’t I be fine?”
They really weren’t on the same page today.
“Um, because it’s Leta, that you and her ——“
It took a few seconds, but he finally caught up what she indicated and smiled awkwardly.
“A bit hilarious I might say. But I don’t find any reason to oppose this matter.” Newt shrugged. “My brother and Leta, they suit each other, I think, and I am happy for them.”
She knew he meant it because she heard no resentment. Some degree of sadness about a long lost friendship——maybe one day he would share what exactly happened between them all those years ago with her —— but no anger or hurt.
“Then I am glad.” She smiled for the first time on that day. “Please send my congratulations to them once you go back?”
“I will.” He gave her that crooked smile of his.
In the next few moments, in the complete silence, they just gazed at each other--he did shift his eyes away many times, but it always came back to her-- both wearing shy smiles on their faces.
“I- I recall this is why I am here.” He was the one who broke the silence and scrambled to pull a book bounded in dark blue leather and golden cover print out from his pocket.
She probably stared at the book for too long and sent out the wrong message because he nervously pulled it back.
“I’m sorry, Tina, I forget you have already purchased one so you probably don’t want this anymore.”
She quickly dropped the magazine and held on the book before he could take it back fully.
“No, Newt, I would love to have this one as well!” She added a smile for assurance. “It’s just so beautiful, making it hard not to stare.”
“Oh.” Newt blushed.
“Could you autograph it for me?” Tina asked as she caught a glimpse at the magazine on the floor, remembering the picture was taken at a book signing event, so she assumed it wouldn’t be too much to ask.
He shifted his stance and blushed even harder.
“Ah, if you don’t want to——“
“It was already signed.”
She looked at him——making him averted his eyes again ——a little surprised, and tentatively opened the book.
“To Tina,
who I would love to help me find my creatures if they escape again.
Newt.”
She couldn’t help but laugh at the message he scribbled on the page.
Tina wondered how many people knew this playful side of this shy man.
She looked back up from the book and found him looking at her with a small smile.
“Let’s hope it won’t happen again, shall we?”
“I agree.” His smile widened.
“I will cherish it, Newt.” She said with the book holding tightly in her hands. Tina could already imagine herself reading it over and over again.
And then she remembered the other one book she bought earlier. She pulled it out from the pocket of her coats and hand it to him.
“Can you sign this one, too? Just your name would be fine.”
He nodded, took the book and sit down at the dining table.
She took advantage of the brief moments while he was occupied to pick up the magazine and prepare something to drink.
When she came back with two cups, tea for him and coffee for her, he had finished his small task and was frowning at his photo on the cover of Spellbound.
Her ears heated up with embarrassment. As a trained investigator, she shouldn't jump to the conclusion simply because a flimsy tabloid article said so. She seemed to lose all her judgment when it came to Newt Scamander.
"Newt," she started once she handed him the drink and settled beside him. "I want to apologize. For believed in that magazine so fast. I really should've asked you first."
"It's not your fault."
"But if you weren't here to explain, I would probably......" She didn't dare to think of the possibilities since none of them would end well.
To her surprise, he reached over and covered her hand with his.
"Tina, I want you to know," he paused, and she could hear him swallowed nervously, "I need you to know that Leta isn't the one I want to marry."
Tina gaped at him as she took in what he just said and what he didn't say. It should be too forward but at the same time, it brought longing into her heart.
They weren't even dating; all they had was months worth of correspondence. But she'd be lying if she said she didn't want them to move toward something more. Every letter she received from him, every word she laid down onto the paper in return, all stacked up in her mind and formed a picture of them.
Would she be the one? She hoped the answer would come soon, but not now.
"I will keep that in mind." She said and turned the hand covered under his, so now they were palm to palm.
"Good." he grinned.

A/N: Just some smut for you Sunday afternoon 🤷🏻♀️
Continental hotel Paris, 8 pm, room 786, JW
She used to receive texts like these from this number on a regular basis. Whenever he was in the same town as her. It was nice that he put his initials in the message. It’s not like she had memorized the number. But it stopped a little over five years ago. She didn’t even know he was still alive. They had met on a job. Both of them booked to take out the same target. She had made the decision to give him the kill pretty fast but negotiated for other sort of payment with him. John Wick. A man you don’t want to have as an enemy. They had been flirting the whole night. And when he had come to her room after the kill, full of adrenaline. It had been a night, she would never forget.
She couldn’t help the tingle of excitement that ran all over her body after receiving the text. She had no idea how he knew that she was in Paris. Or how he got her new number. Or why he would contact her now after all these years. She knew he got married, got out, lived a happy life. He always wanted to get out. She also knew his wife died not long ago.
She had been pretty upset when he just vanished from her. A little part of her hoped that they could be more. She had seen a side of him in all the years, she grew to love. How he would search for her hand when he slept next to her, how he always remembered that she was allergic to garlic when they got out to eat, how he loved to watch the stars.
Yeah, she got it really bad for John Wick. She should be pissed at him for expecting her to be back like nothing happened. But who was she kidding. She would go. Even after more than five years without any form of contact.
It was 7:50 pm when she walked to the door of the continental hotel in Paris. It felt like stepping into a museum. Luxurious golden ornaments were all over the walls. It reminded her of Versailles.
„Miss Frost.“ She heard a smooth voice next to her. She turned around to come to face with a pale, bald man, the manager of the Parisian hotel.
„Jacque.“ She nodded him in greeting.
„What brings you to our fine hotel. Business?“ He asked, walking next to her.
„Oh no. I‘m out for good. You should try it. Best three years of my life. Your cuisine is just so addictive.“ she winked at him. He laughed lowly.
„Nice of you to lie to this old man.“ They came to stand in front of the elevator. He pressed the button.
„Be careful up there. He‘s close to breaking the rules.“ Jacque whispered as the doors opened.
She stepped into the elevator, turning around to face him.
„I’m always careful, Jacque.“ she said, as the door closed.
She looked at herself in the fully mirrored elevator. She put a little more effort into her look today. Her dark hair in loose waves went almost to her hips. She needed a haircut badly. She only applied a little make up. Some mascara and eyeliner. And the blood red lips she knew he liked. The grey knee high wrap dress shimmered silver when she moved, hugging her curves tightly. She wore 6 inch silver heels, she always felt confident in high heels. And she would need all the confidence she could get. She didn’t just want to jump back into his arms. She wanted answers. She had no idea what he wanted anyway. But a little part of her hoped he would peel her out of the black bra and garter belt she wore underneath by the end of the night.
She breathed a couple times before she knocked on the door of room 786. She wondered if there was a reason he had chosen this room, or if it was just coincidence. They had talked about fantasies they had back in the day, but she was sure he didn’t remember. Not after all this time.
The door opened after only a few seconds and she tried not to react on seeing him again. She couldn’t help the gasp though. He was bare feet, his dark grey dress shirt still tucked into his suit pants, the tie open around his neck. The face she grew to love still the same. Apart from the healing cut on his nose. And some tiny wrinkles around his eyes. His Black hair slicked back.
“Hi Charlotte.” He said and she finally looked into his eyes. His dark eyes, that seemed darker as she remembered. She also remembered the look she could read in his face.
A shiver ran over her body.
“John.” She tilted her head in greeting and walked past him into his room. She heard the door closing behind her, as she walked right to the back of the room that was a window front from ground to the ceiling, overlooking Paris. The sun would start to go down shortly, giving her the best view in the whole city over the sunset. Sighing sh put her purse on the couch next to her.
“You’re back?” She asked. John was standing with his back to the door, he had just closed behind her, only watching her. He felt the relief wasting over him on her actually coming to him.
“I’m not.” He answered, still not moving. Watching her.
“So you’re not breaking the rules?”
“Not yet.”
She turned around to face him. He could see in her blue eyes that she didn’t believe a word he said. She was even more beautiful than he remembered.
“What happened John?” She finally asked. Searching his face for an answer. She could feel his desperation across the room.
“Santino made me fulfill his marker. He wanted me to kill his sister” He began.
“You killed Gianna?” She asked with big eyes.
“I had no choice.” He almost whispered. They stared at each other in silence.
“How much?” She asked after a while.
“7 million.” He answered.
“Jesus Christ Jonathan.” Her Hand rubbed her forehead.
Finally he straightened and walked over to where she was standing. Sometimes he had asked himself if his life would have turned out differently if he had admitted to his feelings for her. Maybe they would both be living together on some abandoned beach. Making love to each other every day.
“I wanted to see you one last time.” He admitted as he was standing in front of her. She looked up at him. Even with the heels she was wearing he still was taller than her. His aftershave made her sigh quietly.
“What are you planing?” She asked.
“Killing him. At all costs.”
She closed her eyes and breathed in deep, inhaling his scent. She let her head fall with her forehead against his shoulder. She shook her head a little.
“Why here?” She asked.
He leant down, so he could whisper right into her ear.
“I remember you talking about what you want me to do to you in this room.” He whispered. His breath caressed her skin. Goosebumps came over her whole body. She swallowed.
“What makes you think you could just continue where we stopped five years ago?” Her voice was shaking. She felt his fingers on her back, drawing tiny circles. His lips connected with the skin on her neck, and she shakily breathed out.
“You’re here, aren’t you?” She felt his tongue come out between his lips on her neck, drawing a line up to her ear. Her hand grabbed his shoulder to steady her. What was it about this man, that could make her forget everything? Damn him.
“Why now?” His lips closed around her earlobe, his teeth nibbling on it, making her moan.
“I missed you.” He simply said. She closed her eyes, before she grabbed him at the loose ends of his tie, making him look at her.
“I missed you too.” She admitted before she pulled him at his tie down to her, to kiss him. They both moaned when they felt each other’s lips, their tongues caressing each other’s. John pulled her to him, both of his hands on her waist, as she was still holding him close to her by his tie.
When they parted she saw the look in his eyes. She couldn’t help biting her lip as she looked up at him. She felt his hands on the knot of her dress, slowly pulling at it, until it opened. He slowly reached with his hands to her shoulders, pushing her dress from her shoulders until it fell to the ground.
The black lace bra she was wearing covered almost nothing. She was glad she chose the garter belt and stockings, when she saw his eyes as he looked at her.
He made her walk backwards until her back was flush against the window. The cold making her hiss.
“What was it you said?” He asked her, as he opened the buttons on his sleeves, taking out his cufflinks.
“You want to be fucked hard while looking over the skyline of Paris? Do I remember that correctly?” His hands both cupped her beasts, his thump pinching her already hard nipples. She already had a hard time breathing and she could feel herself dripping down her thighs. John got in his knees in front of her, pulling one of her legs over his shoulder. He was still fully dressed.
“No panties?” He let one of his finger slip through her folds. “You’re dripping already Char.” He said, looking up at her as he leant closer to her, his mouth devouring through her folds.
“Fuck John.” She moaned loudly, both of her hands grabbing his hair. She could feel his tongue on her clit, one hand at her ass, his fingers teasing through her folds.
“Oh my god.” She moaned, as two of his fingers entered her while he was sucking on her clit, he hadn’t even started and she was close already. He hummed around her clit, his fingers finding the spot nobody had even been close to finding in the last 5 years.
Her head fell back against the window, one of her hands coming up to massage her breast.
She didn’t care that everyone on the street who looked closely could see them. She didn’t care that she would most likely never see him again. All she cared about was this moment. When she felt his teeth on her clit she came. Hard. “Holy shit.” She whimpered, her hips shaking, her hand in Johns hair pulling him to her. The smirk he had on his face as she finally looked at him, made her chuckle. He carefully set her leg down on the ground, she was thankful her whole weight was leaning against the window, and pushed himself off the ground to kiss her. He rolled his hips against hers, making her whimper as she felt his cock.
“Take your bra off and turn around. Heels stay on.” He said, giving her no room for any argument. Not that she would have one. Slowly she opened her bra, letting it slide down the floor, without taking her eyes off of him. She could hear him growling as she turned around to face the city. The sun must have starting going down a while ago, diving everything in orange. She could see the Eiffel tower and Notre Dame. As much as she hated this city, it was beautiful. She looked down to the pavement, 7 floors down and wondered if the people walking there would be able to see what exactly was going on above her heads.
She felt Johns chest on her back, his arms coming around her waist, as he pushed his body close against hers. His head rested on her right shoulder, his view following the direction she was looking at. His cock rubbed over her ass.
“Do you think someone could see?” She asked. One of his hands ran up to her breast, teasing her nipple.
“Do you care?” He asked back, kissing her neck.
“Mmhhh.” Was all she could answer. John grabbed both of her hands, bringing them up the window above her, as he pushed her body to the window. When the skin of her upper body collided with the cold glass of the window, she moaned. John wasted no time and pushed himself into her in one long motion. They both moaned when he settled fully inside of her. How she had missed the feeling of him inside of her. John breathed hard. She wiggled her hips, and he got the hint and started to move. His hands were still on hers on the window as he drove himself in and out of her.
Every movement pushing her deeper in the window.
“Do you enjoy it?” He asked close to her ear.
“Being fucked for the whole world to see. If anyone saw us we could end up arrested.” He thrusted hard into her, making her moan his name.
“Wouldn’t that be a story? The boogeyman and the wandering spider. Being arrested for having sex against a window.” She whimpered as he thrusted harder. He chuckled behind her, one of his hands moving between her legs, circling her clit. She desperately searched for something to hold on to, as she felt her orgasm approaching. Johns other hand came around her waist, holding her steady as he fastened his movements, never stoping his hands on her clit.
“I got you.” He bit into her neck and she let go. Pushing her hands against the window trying to keep herself on her feet as she felt her whole body shaking, as she came. “Fuck, Jonathan.” She cursed, breathing hard. His grip held her steady against him as he continued to fuck her, his movements soon getting sloppy until he bit into her shoulder, and spilled inside of her. She shuddered and almost came again as he felt him spill into her.
They were both breathing hard and Charlotte was glad for his arms around her, she really didn’t trust her own feet to hold her. She tilt her head to the side, finding Johns lips, kissing him deeply.
She groaned as she felt him slip out of her, his seed running down her legs. John picked her up and sat her down on his lap on the couch in front of the window. It was almost dark by now. He found a blanket next to him and covered both their bodies with it. Charlottes head rested on Johns shoulder, as she watched him looking out of the window. He looked so peaceful and happy in this moment. She couldn’t bare the thought of never seeing him again.
“Stay two days. Don’t leave the hotel. Just... Spent two days. In Paris. With me.” She whispered against his chest. His arms around her tightened.
“Anything you want, Char.”
As she walked out of the hotel in the early morning hours of the next day, she needed new clothes, the information she called for as John was under the shower, was waiting for her at the front desk.
He’s at a private tour at the louvre. Security cameras will be out for exactly 5 minutes at 4:27 am
The note said. She looked at the clock. 97 minutes. That would be just enough time time for her to come out of retirement.
John woke up to the ringing of his phone. He carefully sat up, trying not to disturb Charlotte beside him only to find the place beside him empty. He reached for his phone.
“Jonathan.” Winston was way to cheerful.
“Winston.”
“Have you heard the news?” Winston asked.
John rubbed his eyes, as he stood from the bed.
“What news?”
“Of the wandering Spider being out of retirement? She killed Santino.” John heard the door of his hotel room opening. Charlotte closed the door behind her, waving the bag full of breakfast to John as she walked by him.
“She did?” John asked Winston.
“Must have been quite the spectacle. I wonder how she sneaked into the Louvre.”
“You and me both. Thank you Winston.”
“You’re welcome John. Give my greetings to our sweet Charlotte. She needs to tell me how she did it, the next time she visits.”
“I will. Goodbye Winston.” John ended the call and focused on Charlotte who seemed awfully busy preparing the selection of breakfast she had brought with her.
“Anything up?” She asked, sitting down on a chair at the table, eating a whole strawberry, before she looked at John.
“Just Winston.” He said tossing his phone on the bed. Charlotte became suddenly very aware of the fact that John was only wearing his boxershorts as he made his way over to her. He would know by now what she did. What she did so he could rest.
John knelt beside her, taking her hand into his. His other hand brushing her cheek before he kissed her.
“I love you Charlotte Frost.” He whispered against her lips, as a tear of relief ran down his cheek.

Diabolik lovers Chaos Lineage: Kou Mukami (Story 05 + CG)
In terms of the gameplay: The black choices lead up to a bad ending, the white choices lead up to a good ending. Please no reposting onto other sites, ask me before translating this into another language too!♡
The Violet mansion suffered a considerable amount of damage from Orange’s attack.
Everyone was treating their injuries, respectively following Carla-san’s command to prepare themselves for another upcoming attack.
Kou-kun fainted right after that, probably because of his memories coming back to him all of the sudden.
He was immediately taken to his room, and I’m the one taking care of him now.
An entire day after the attack, Kou-kun still continued to sleep—
Place: Violet mansion — Kou‘s bedroom
Kou: …..
Yui: Kou-kun…
(When his memories returned yesterday, I was really happy about that…)
But it was probably hard for him to remember everything in that kind of way…
Kou: ...Nn…
Yui: Kou-kun!
Kou: ...Hm… Yui… ?
Yui: (He woke up, that’s good!)
Kou: Here… is this my room… ?
Yui: That‘s right. Subaru-kun was the one who carried you here. Kou-kun, you got unconsciousness after remembering everything.
Kou: I see… Ngh…
Yui: Are you okay? It would be better if you slept a little more…
Kou: ...I’ll be alright. Rather than sleeping, I want to talk to you.
Say, will you sit down next to me?
Choices
1) Yes (white)♡♡♡
2) Why? (black)
— Yes♡
Yui: Yes, if it’s okay with you.
*Yui sits down*
Kou: You’re pretty obedient. That‘s fine with me, but aren’t you too defenseless?
What if my memories still haven’t completely returned yet?
Yui: I wouldn’t care. Just staying by your side makes me more than happy anyway.
Kou: That‘s a great killing complaint. But don’t worry, I really remember everything.
Yui: Yes…
(He seriously regained all of his memories. That’s such a nice feeling…)
— Why?
Yui: Eh? Why… ?
Kou: That face… are you doubting me? Are you wondering what would happen if I’d attack you all of the sudden?
Yui: That’s not it! I didn’t think about that!
(I shouldn’t have asked that, I probably made Kou-kun anxious)
Okay, let me sit next to you.
end Choices
Kou: ...Um, listen. About the things I did to you, I’m sorry…
Yui: Eh?
Kou: I’ve done so many terrible things to you, just because of my memories not being the same as usual.
Yui: Despite that, I’m fine. I’m just happy that Kou-kun returned back to his normal state now.
Kou: Jeez, you’re forgiving me way too easily. You’re still as kind as always.
You’re always so affectionate, it didn’t change...
That’s why, at least I’ll be the one not forgiving myself.
Yui: Kou-kun…
Kou: You desperately tried to regain my memories all this time...
And all I did was constantly completely ignoring your feelings… Nn…
...All these horrible things I did to you aren‘t easy to forgive. That’s why… I want you to give me some punishment.
Yui: Punishment you say…
(...No. Without it, he might not consent anything I say from now on. So I need to—)
...Then, can I ask you for something?
Kou: Of course.
Yui: Um… I want you to hold me for a while, if possible.
Kou: Eh… hold you… ?
What‘s with that request?
Yui: Is that… not okay?
Kou: There’s nothing wrong with that. I just didn’t expect you’d say something like this.
*Kou hugs Yui*
Yui: Ah...
(I feel like it‘s been such a long time since he hugged me like that. It somehow tickles too)
Kou: We’ve been together all this time, but it feels as if we just met again.
*Kou hugs her tighter*
Yui: (Ah… the strength of his arms, it became tighter…)
I feel nostalgia coming up while hugging you too, Kou-kun. It feels kinda weird…
Kou: It‘s not weird at all. I’ll continue doing it until you’re fully satisfied…
Yui: Okay…
(He’s just started to touch me again, and I already feel relieved by it…)
(Kou-kun…)
*time passed*
Yui: Alright, the tea finished brewing.
*Yui places the cup*
Kou: Thank you. I wonder if I’m thirsty because I just woke up… Nn… Haa, I finally feel calm now.
...I‘m glad I came back to my sanity and all, but what exactly is going on with us here?
Yui: Hmm… I honestly don’t know who this property belongs to, neither what’s going on here either.
Do you remember anything about when you first came here, Kou-kun?
Kou: Hmm, even though you remembered before me, you didn’t notice anything?
When I came back to myself, I already remembered Carla-kun and the others being my brothers.
And because of that I couldn’t believe anything you said, no matter how much you told me about my true memories.
Yui: Is that so…
Kou: That‘s because not only the both of us, but everyone else has weird memories too.
I’m more than sure that there must be a reason for all of this happening to us…
Yui: The more I think about our situation, the less I understand it.
Kou: …..
Yui: Kou-kun?
Kou: Ah, hmm… I just remembered something that happened the other day.
Yui: What was it?
Kou: It was the moment Ruki-kun turned his sword towards me.
Yui: Ah…
Kou: There’s no way Ruki-kun would intend to murder anyone of us while having his real memories. But the look in his eyes was serious about killing us back then.
He was also really close to stab Azusa with his sword…
Yui: Yes… I was shocked about that too…
Kou: Yes, same. But without that shock, my memories wouldn’t have returned back to myself.
*someone knocks*
Azusa: Kou, Eve… right now, are you okay… ?
Kou: It’s Azusa-kun! Yes, you can come in, the door is open!
Azusa: I’m relieved… you finally woke up. Ah, but… is your physical condition really okay?
Kou: I’m doing perfectly fine! Isn’t Azusa-kun the one who got seriously injured?
Azusa: Yes… but luckily, I was just lightly touched from the sword…
Kou: I’m glad about that too then.
Azusa: By the way, I came here to ask you something important… is it… true that Kou remembers… ?
Kou: If I remember, you ask… could it be that, Azusa-kun remembers too!?
Azusa: Yes… Ruki and Yuma… besides, I also remembered the Sakamaki family, and everyone else as well…
If that’s how I feel, is it all the same… as Kou and Eve?
Yui: Y-Yes. Both of us, I and Kou-kun already managed to regain our memories. But how did you remember all of this, Azusa-kun?
Azusa: Uhh… it happened when Ruki cut my arm… I think...
The appearance Kou suddenly showed seemed strange to me, so I thought it was the same as mine…
Yui: Oh, I see. That’s good… !
Kou: That’s amazing. Both of us really woke up because of him, as expected from our Ruki-kun.
Azusa: Yes, Ruki is really amazing after all.
Yui: (Because Azusa-kun barely escaped from getting sliced in half, I don’t think he should be happy about this…)
(But did both of them really remember everything at the same time yesterday?)
(Does that mean that Ruki-kun triggered something in their memories, when he was close to kill Azusa-kun… ?)
Kou: Say Azusa-kun, do you have any idea of how we ended up here and why we’re doing all of this?
Azusa: Hmm… once I regained my consciousness, I woke up and all I remembered was that I’m one of Carla-san’s brothers…
Talking about it, I did remember that one of us is presumed to become the supreme ruler…
Yui: So it’s the exact same as Kou-kun.
Kou: Hmm, I know that M Neko-chan is supposed to be Eve, but what’s up with this entire becoming king thing?
Yui: Could it be that you’ve got these memories instilled without even knowing about it?
Kou: Hmm. I remember nothing about being brainwashed, even after only recalling the becoming king thing.
Thinking about it again now, this really gives off unnatural vibes. It feels like I was threatened to mainly aim for the seat of the king.
Yui: Threatened…
Azusa: Even though they didn’t say why, we were told to aim for this rank at all cost... this is what I remember.
But, I don’t remember being forced to do that… I think some people like me, aren’t interested in taking over the seat to begin with.
Kou: In fact, we all wanted Carla-kun to be the only one becoming the king.
Azusa: Hmm… but Ruki seems different. He’s seriously aiming for the title of the king…
Yui: Ah…
Kou: That just sounds exactly like Ruki-kun. If he got a mission to fulfill, he’s definitely going straight into it.
Eve is the only requirement to become the king. So if this continues to go on like this, we might have to fight against Ruki-kun again.
No, it’s not just about facing Ruki-kun again, we may need to fight against Yuma-kun too.
Yui: I’ll definitely try to avoid this from happening. I don’t want to see anyone fighting any longer…
Kou: Yes… that’s right.
Azusa: But… where should we even start now… ?
Kou: Hmm…
We’re still on a strange island where everyone’s memories are strange...
*someone knocks*
Kou: Besides, I don’t really know how we should continue our investments, neither do I know how we could wake up from this nightmare.
Hah… I’m already close to completely give in.
Subaru: What are you already giving up on?
Yui: Subaru-kun!?
Kou: How long have you been here already? I mean, why did you come in without asking for permission!?
Subaru: No matter how many times I knocked, you didn‘t give me an answer.
Yui: (We were discussing about this entire situation and didn’t even notice him because of that… !)
Um, did you listen to everything we talked about… ?
Subaru: I just heard the “completely giving up on something” part.
*everyone looks relieved*
Yui: (That‘s good, it seems as if he didn’t hear anything)
Subaru: Just what the hell is wrong with all of you. I was ordered to come here to call you all for dinner, nothing else.
Yui: Oh yes, that’s right. Thank you for calling us… but we’re coming a little later to finish our talk.
Subaru: Hmph. At least I tried called for you.
*Subaru leaves*
Kou: Haa, that scared me…
Yui: The next time we’re going to talk about all of this, we need to be more careful.
Azusa: Hmm…
Kou: Even so… I’m not used to think about this much yet, I’m kind of tired already.
But I’m also hungry, let’s go eat, sleep and then continue thinking about this.
Yui: You’re right. Once we all calmed down, we may be able to think of a way we can handle the situation with.
(Kou-kun also regained his memories just yesterday, so he obviously needs to take another rest before we’re starting for real)
*time skipped*
Kou: Haa, I’m full…
Yui: Isn’t it bad for you, if you immediately lie down after eating?
Kou: It’s fine to do so once in awhile. C’mon, lay down with me.
Yui: (Ah… if he says something like this to me, I can’t refuse him)
Sure…
*Yui lays down*
Kou: Hmm… after all I really do feel way better when I hug you.
Yui: Kou-kun, it’s getting a little painful…
Kou: Ehh, that‘s fine. Like this I’m able to feel M Neko-chan way more than usual.
Ah… the bite mark you have on your neck, is that something I put there? It must have hurt you…
Yui: The wound is already starting to close itself again, so it doesn’t hurt anymore.
Kou: You’re maybe right about it. But at the end, it was still painful when I bit you there, right?
I probably sucked it really forcibly too…
Hey, let me apologize for this… Nn…
*Kou kisses Yui*
Yui: Ah…
Yui: (His lips are touching my shoulder… and it’s tickling a lot too…)
I-I’m already fine by now…
*Yui tries resisting*
Kou: Come on, you shouldn’t run away from me. Let me treat you properly this time… Nn…
I don’t want to leave any scratches on your clear skin like that.
Yui: Nn… Ah…
(It’s gradually becoming more comfortable now…)
Kou: ...Hm? Your body is getting hotter…
Could it be, that you want my fangs to pierce your skin?
Yui: Nn…
Kou: ...Fufu, your face turned red. Do you really want them that much? If so, I’ll give them to you.
I’ll do it so it doesn’t hurt you.
Kou: ...Nn… Nn…
Yui: (Ah… he’s letting his fangs sink slowly into my upper arm…)
(Nn, my body is probably deeply devoted to him biting me so gently…)
Kou: Haa… Nn… say, does it feel good?
Yui: Nn… Ahh…
Kou: Fufu, you’re letting out your sweet voice. That must really mean it’s feeling good… Haa… Nn…
Yui: (Until just a while ago, it hurt so much when he was sucking my blood)
(Now it feels so good, that I can‘t even compare it to the situation I was put in before…)
Kou: ...Haa… I really want to have more of your blood, but you’re already getting anemic.
Should we sleep together like this then?
Yui: (I’m slightly disappointed that he stopped, but at least I’m able to sleep in Kou-kun’s arms like this)
Yes…
Kou: Good night, M Neko-chan.
Yui: Good night, Kou-kun...

The Misfits
Chapter Two:
Hey! So somehow this post got deleted (idek bros) so I am uploading it again! Summary: The gang meets each other at lunch, you get some of Emily being a softy, Spence being the baby, and an insight into JJ’s mind!
Triggers: Mentioned religious homophobia, fatphobia/ body shaming, anxiety/ sensory over load
Word Count: 4,537
Spencer jumped at the loud ringing of the bell, looking up and seeing the commotion around him. He brought his hands to his ears and looked around as he noticed the now empty classroom around him. The boy felt someone behind him and snapped his head back, seeing Aaron behind him. It was time for lunch. Oh, the dreaded time of crowded hallways and loud noises. Spencer stuck close to Aaron, trying to avoid getting elbowed by the big kids. When they arrive in the lunchroom, Spencer looks around like a deer caught in headlights. He sees hundreds of kids piled together, long lines, and most of all he notices the loud chaotic chatter. He shakes his head and follows Aaron to a table off in the corner. Spencer observes everyone sitting at the table, a younger blonde girl. She looked athletic and preppy, she was pretty for sure. Next to her sat a scary-looking ravenette. She wore dark clothes and dark makeup, looking around displeased. Across from her sat a couple. A perky blonde, and an athletic curly headed boy. Next to the couple sat an older boy, he looked like he came from money. Perfectly slicked hair, expensive leather jacket. The whole package.
Spencer sat next to the scary one, Aaron on his other side. He could feel the familiar pit in his stomach starting to rise to his throat. All of the sounds being amplified in his brain as he sat looking at the table. Soon he pulled out his smushed PB and J sandwich, followed by the Saltines that had been demolished into powder. Embarrassed, he pulled out the sandwich and tore at the sticky bread. He tried to eat some, but the anxiety was too much. He started to bounce his leg, and when that didn’t relieve it enough he tapped on the table. One- two- three- one- four. One- two- three- one- four. One- two- tree-. His tapping is interrupted by a gentle cold hand on his. He pulled his hand back as it burned him, looking at the girl next to him before shaking his head and closing his eyes. He hated being touched. Especially when it was someone he didn’t know, but even more so when he was avoiding a meltdown. Everything felt like it was too much. It was too loud, too bright, just too much. He rocked in his seat as he sat there, though the movement was barely noticeable, the girl noticed.
She leaned in closer to him so she could talk to him, “Hi, I’m Emily. Why don’t you go sit in the corner and put these earbuds in? Turn whatever music on and calm down a bit.” She whispered, handing him her phone.
Spencer nodded and took the phone. He didn’t like that this was happening, but maybe the music could help calm him down. Bach maybe… That normally worked. He shuffled into the corner. She was careful not touching him, and he appreciated that. He plugged in the headphones and put them in, turning on some blend of classical music. He closes his eyes and opens them when he feels calmer. He notices there are chicken nuggets sitting in front of him now. They couldn’t be his…
“Hey um… whose are these? I didn’t buy these…” He piped up for the first time, his voice small and obviously young.
Aaron looked over at him and smiled gently, “Dave bought those for you,” He commented, gesturing at Dave who was waving. Spencer smiled and nodded at him, eating one of the lukewarm chicken nuggets. They weren’t amazing, but they were better than what he had.
He felt better after eating some, soon warming up to the group. He wasn’t nearly as tense as he was at the start of the meal. Maybe lunch wasn’t terrible. The people seemed nice enough and the scary one… Emily. She seemed nice, caring at the very least. He smiles constantly to himself, maybe today wasn’t going to be terrible.
…
JJ waited in the hallway of the history hall, waiting for her upperclassman to come to get her. The school was so big compared to middle school, everything was connected through huge buildings. It was scary if she was going, to be honest with herself. She looks around at the empty hallway surrounding her and decides that music is the best option, so she plugs in her headphones and turns on her most recently listened to playlist. ‘Little Miss Perfect’ came on, and she quickly skipped it as the tears rushed to her eyes immediately. She couldn’t listen to that song. Not now. Her head jerked up as she felt a tap on her shoulder.
“Sorry I‘m late, I was in the bathroom putting Visine in my eyes. Hotch will kill me if he knows I’m high… What’s wrong, you look like someone kicked your puppy.” Emily rambles, flipping dark hair out of her face.
The younger female looks up at her and simply smiles softly, “Yeah, I’m okay… Just an um… rough day?” She definitely did not want this girl to know why she was upset. She didn’t even want to know why she was upset.
“Okay kid. Whatever makes you feel better. Let's go to lunch. I’m starving-- so, how was Engle’s class?” The ravenette asked, throwing an arm around JJ’s shoulder, which made her heart speed up.
“I fucking hate it. He’s a douche bag, sexist, and homophobic.”
“Oh, yeah… I had him last year. I figured you would respond like that.”
“He REFUSED to call on me. He called on some idiot named Anderson. He said something about the Holocaust. It was about American History. Like the revolution. How stupid!” She huffed, soon realizing she was ranting, “I’m sorry. You don’t need to hear about my ranting.”
“No, no, no, it’s fine. I’m glad someone else feels this way too! Ugh, I HATED him last year.”
Jennifer smiles up at her and shrugs, “I’m just gonna deal with it, it’s fine.” She comments, looking out on the lunchroom “Holy shit, there are so many people..”
“Yeah… Welcome to high school. We sit over here with this group, there is Rossi, or at least that’s what I call him. Then there is Hotch, again, what I call him. Then Derek… He’s a himbo, but it’s fine. He’s in my grade, the other two are juniors. Then the other two…. I’m not too sure. They’re freshmen I think. Maybe not… That other blonde is hanging all over Derek.”
The blonde looks over and is overwhelmed with everyone, when they finally sit down she looks over at the other blonde sitting next to her. She was very bright and colorful. She looked nice enough, “Hi, I’m Jenn- JJ. I’m JJ.”
“Hi! I’m Penelope! I’m new here, but I’m a sophomore.”
“Um hi! I’m a freshman” She comments, taking out her lunch bag and promptly starting in on her salad.
She looks around, silently observing the table and she sees a little kid sitting by Emily. She also sees Emily stepping up immediately to help him, and it makes her heart swell. No. Jennifer, you can’t think like this. This is wrong. This is evil. You know this. The thoughts swirl through her head, the pastor’s words echoing the loudest. She couldn’t feel this way about her. She couldn’t do it. It was evil, wrong, sinful; and she has to be perfect. She couldn’t allow herself to feel this. Her thoughts are interrupted by a jostling of people around her. She had completely zoned out for all of lunch. Damnit! She had to go to Chemistry next and she didn’t even finish her lunch. She quickly gets up and leaves the lunchroom, stumbling around to find her next class. Luckily, she finds it in time and she sees a few familiar faces, and she smiles widely when she notices the seat open next to the colorful blonde. She saved her a seat… She really didn’t have to. And for the first time since Rosalyn died, she felt a small glimmer of hope for this year.
…
Penelope walks quickly to find Derek, her anxiety going crazy throughout the day. She hated being around this many people, it truly scared her. When she finds Derek she wraps him in a big hug, resting her head on his chest.
“Hi Der, lunch is next, right?” She asked quietly, not noticing the crowd of jocks starting to form around them.
“Hey Baby girl, yeah. Lunch is next.” He said, nodding towards his teammates.
“Of course she wonders when lunch is..” McKellen commented snarkily, thinking they couldn’t hear him.
Penelope looked at him and felt tears sting at the corners of her eyes, she can’t cry. Not on the first day. So, she tightened her grip around Derek’s waist and sighed, feeling his grip around her shoulder tighten as he spouted something off through gritted teeth. She was too worried to pay attention to his rebuttal, waiting patiently for the douchebags to walk away. When they do she just shakes her head, biting back the tears as the pair walks to the lunchroom.
She feels Derek stop her, so she looks up at him. “What’s up, honey?” She said, her voice less vibrant than normal.
“You’re so gorgeous.” Derek comments, letting his hands rest on the curve of her waist as he leans down and presses a soft kiss to her forehead.
“Psh, okay Derek. I’m fine, you don’t have to go all out on me. It’s okay.” She said with a shrug. She hated feeling like this, and she hated burdening him.
“Just take the compliment baby. Seriously. I think you’re the most gorgeous girl in the school. let me make you feel good baby girl, you’re gorgeous, sexy, loving, kind, smart, and so incredibly strong. Fuck anyone who says otherwise.”
Penelope looks up at him and smiles, standing on her tiptoes and kissing him gently. “Thank you, Derek, you honestly make everything better… Can we just go to eat? I want to get this day over and done with.. I’m tired of it already. I just want to be home. No one judges me at home…”
“I’m sorry Pen… I wish I could help you out more. But, you can come over to my place after school. We can hang out and I can make you feel better…”
“Derek Morgan!” She exclaimed, slapping his arm playfully, “Get your mind out of the gutter, it is noon.”
“Hey! I was gonna make you some cookies, but okay... Whatever”
“Wait, wait, no. I like your baking!”
“Mmhm, just keep up the sweet talk.”
“In your dreams, Morgan. In your dreams.” She bounces back, fluffing up his curls playfully with a smile.
With his arm around her shoulders, they walk into the cafeteria and sit down. She looks around and sees curious eyes staring back at her, and she smiles as Dereks introduces her. She isn’t just Penelope. He has pride in his tone when he says girlfriend, and that makes Penelope feel better than she has in a while. No one has had that when they talked about her. No one looked at her like this. She felt special and loved.
Soon she makes eye contact with the little kid sitting in the corner, he looked to be seven or eight-- maybe nine. He looks petrified and shaky, so she decides against talking to him. Though, she notices later when he relaxes it because of music, so she made a note of that. She was going to do everything she could to make that little kid comfortable.
She leaned over to Derek, “Babe… I’m adopting that kid.”
“W-what? What the hell?” He said, a throaty chuckle leaving his mouth.
“That little one… Imma make sure that nothing happens to him. He’s mine now.”
“Okay… Whatever you say, baby girl.”
The rest of the lunch went by with light, fluffy banter between them all. She noticed another blonde girl called JJ. She seemed lost, just with everything. She barely ate anything at all, and she looked like she was on the verge of tears, so when Penelope figured out that they had the same class the next hour she made sure to save a seat. She didn’t want anyone to feel alone like she did. She refused to let anyone hurt like that. She needed to be the solace for someone else. So she was what she had to be.
…
Derek was standing outside of his classroom when he felt Penelope crash into him, naturally wrapping his arms around her in a protective form. He could almost feel the tensity in her body start to leave in his arms. He made sure to reassure her, making sure to love on her in a silent way as his thumb rubs her shoulder softly. He looks up and greets his teammates with a nod before pressing a feather-light kiss to her hair. Though his head snaps up as a burst of anger rises into his chest as her arms tighten up around him, a tell to the tears that were about to spill over.
“McClellan, you better watch your damn mouth before I bust your fucking teeth out. Leave her, and me for that matter, the hell alone.” He spat at the teen, gritting his teeth. Holding onto Penelope tighter.
“Damn Morgan, calm your shit. Damn.” He said, trying to act tough, though there was fear lacing his eyes. Derek was a big dude. Muscular and tall. Soon enough he and the rest of the team had walked away, leaving Derek and Penelope standing in the hallway.
The pair walk together, and Derek notices the saddened slump of her shoulders, and the lack of vibrancy in her tone. She was walking slower than normal, and she just looked sad. He stops her and rests his hands on the curves that he had grown to love so much.
“You’re gorgeous.” He blurted out, watching as her face changed to confusion then to a look of distaste.
“You don’t have to go all out on me.”
“Just take the compliment baby. Seriously. I think you’re the most gorgeous girl in the school. Just let me make you feel good baby girl, you’re gorgeous, sexy, loving, kind, smart, and so incredibly strong. Fuck anyone who says otherwise.” He said, his hands spanning the curves of her hips. “You are so perfect and amazing. Don’t let that ass hat win.”
He watched her face light up with a small smile, her eyes perking up. Then he watches as her face falls, he knew today was hard for her-- he knew that she hated being around this many people, it was draining and scary and he just wanted to help her feel better.
After a few moments of her rambling about how shitty everything was, he stops her with a soft kiss, “Hey. Come over to my place and I’ll make you feel better.”
A wide grin broke out across his face as the playful banter started, he has succeeded in making life feel just a little bit more normal for her.
Derek grabbed their food, sitting down at the table. He looks around at the new faces and smiles when he sees Penelope talking to the new blonde girl, he hears her introduced as JJ. He slips his hand onto Penelope’s thigh, showing his presence-- a silent reminder that everything was okay. Derek made light conversation with Aaron and laughed as Dave teased Emily. This felt right. He loved being able to spend time with his friends, and he liked the new freshman. The little one seemed scared of everything, but he was just so innocent… He obviously didn’t have friends, he really couldn’t.
“Babe.. I’m adopting him.”
Derek looked over at her with wide eyes, “What? What do you mean?”
“The little one… he’s my child now. We’re baking him cookies. He is my child now.”
He just nodded along as she spoke, kissing her forehead gently. This was who he loved. The strong, kind-hearted Penelope. He enjoyed seeing her cheer up before they had to leave, and part ways. He made sure to walk her to class, being the perfect gentleman, and making sure that everyone knew that Derek Morgan had a girlfriend. It wasn’t uncommon for girls to flirt with him, but he did not want Pen to be jealous. She had nothing to worry about, of course, he would never cheat. He never had the desire to, and his father would haunt his ass. He truly loved Penelope, even if his name had a player connotation. He needed to prove to Penny that he wasn’t like the people in her life that had hurt her, he would never hurt her. He could never.
He walked into his class, head down deep into thought. Daydreaming of later when he could just be with her. Be with the one he loved again. He really had become a lovesick fool.
…
Aaron made sure to be punctual, making sure to be there to walk Spencer to class. He knew that this could have been a bad situation for the little guy. He was so small, everyone was at least twice his size. He put his hand firmly on the boy's shoulder, internally cringing with the jump the little boy gave.
“Hey Spencer, it’s time for lunch. I’ll help you navigate the halls.” He said in a brotherly tone, as the small boy nodded while shuffling down the hallway.
Aaron winced when the boy was jostled around, noticing the hair pulling. He tried to create a human shield around the child, by walking on the outside of him keeping others away. He leads the stiff child to the lunch table, sitting him down. This was going to be a long period. He watches with horror crossing his eyes as he sees the kid pulling out squashed food. He shares a secret look with Rossi, small glances towards the boy being made. Rossi disappears for a moment, only to return with mediocre food for the boy who was now unresponsive to the noises around him.
Aaron looked as Emily started to take over, noticing how she is delicately dealing with him. When he notices the calm come over him, “Hey Spencer, David bought you these chicken nuggets.” He offered, holding the tray out to the young one, swapping it for the sad lunch he had. It honestly broke his heart a little to see how the boy reaches out for the food. He looked terribly skinny, and Aaron saw the signs of neglect though he couldn’t act on the instinct he had to protect the boy.
Aaron notices Rossi messing with Emily, taking her food, and poking around with her. “Dave. Leave the poor girl alone, she’s high and it’s quite obvious. Yes, you’re real, no no one is going to take your food. Buy her some snacks and let her be!”
Emily smiles at him, “Thank you, Aaron!” She exclaims, taking a bite of the now cold school pizza.
The ravenette teen sits silently, observing as he normally did. He would inject into conversation whenever necessary, though he spent most of the time on his phone texting his little brother who was somehow having a crisis. This time it was a girl problem. Sean had been a ladies man since he was little, always talking about some girl he liked. It used to get him in trouble, but with Richard gone…
Aaron’s thoughts are interrupted by feeling a small hand pulling on his sleeve, “Uh… um, Aaron? I um… I need to go to class. Will you walk me?” Spencer asked quietly
“Of course I’ll walk you, where is it?”
“It’s English… They put me in a freshman English class. So it’s gonna be super easy.” He said with a smile that he had yet to show anyone.
“Oh really now? Well, it’s an easy A, I guess. Let's go.” Aaron said, amusement in his tone.
Aaron walks Spencer to his class, feeling a protective pull over him when people stare at him when his hands start to flap. He cut glares that could cut through titanium towards them, a silent ‘mess with him, I dare you.’ After Aaron walked him to class, he rushed to his next hour. He sat down with an unfamiliar smile on his face, and for the first time, he felt happy to be at school.
...
Emily rushed to the history hallway to find JJ, wiping away the leaking Visine from her eyes. Maybe skipping the third hour to smoke wasn’t a good idea, though she was riding a nice high.
“Sorry ‘m late. Was in the bathroom putting Visine in my eyes. Hotch will kill me if he knows I’m high… What’s wrong, you look like someone kicked your puppy.”
“Just a rough day…”
“Okay.. whatever you say kid, so how was Engle’s class?”
“I fucking hate it. He’s a douche bag, sexist, and homophobic.”
Emily smirked and looked at her, “Yeah, I figured, I had him last year and I hated him.”
He REFUSED to call on me. He called on some idiot named Anderson. He said something about the Holocaust. It was about American History. Like the revolution. How stupid!” JJ rambled, huffing with her realization, “I’m sorry. You don’t need to hear about my ranting.”
“No, no it’s fine truly. I hated his class.” She said as the pair walked into the lunchroom.
“Holy shit, there are so many people!” The young blonde says
“Yea… Welcome to high school, we sit over there with Rossi and them… you’ll figure it out.” She says, leading her to the table.
Emily sits down next to Spencer, and she looks over with her eyes widening. He looked tiny. She takes note of the lack of food and she watches him carefully out of the corner of her eye. She plugs in her earbuds and starts to listen to music when she catches the movement of the child in her peripheral vision. She carefully takes them out of her ears and offers them to him.
“Hi, I’m Emily. Why don’t you go sit in the corner and put these earbuds in. Turn whatever music on and calm down just a bit.” Emily said, leaning in so it wasn’t obvious. She hands him her phone and watches silently as he clicks through something and closes his eyes, watching his fingers tap to the beat of whatever he was listening to.
Emily looks at Rossi when she notices her hot Cheetos are gone, “David I swear--”
“What, what? I didn’t do anything.” He said with a sly smile
“Yes, the fu-heck you did! Let me have them” She whines, grabbing for them.
“I didn’t take them! Are you even here now?” He asked, holding back a laugh
Emily started to say something, but Aaron interrupted, telling Dave to leave her alone, she smirked at him and thanked Aaron. She sat there and ate her food and snacks, happily munching on her snacks until it was time to leave. She walked JJ to her class before walking to her own, her mind running a hundred miles a minute. She noticed little things about the blonde, the way her hair fell just below her collar bones, the way her eyes crinkled when she let out a gorgeous laugh, only to recoil further into the shell she called herself. Emily could feel her tugging at her heartstrings, though she was trying to convince herself it was due to her intoxication. Maybe it was just a spur of the moment feeling of lust. Maybe it was simply that.
…
David had already racked up a detention. It wasn’t surprising if he was going, to be honest with himself, this happened more often than not. He would fool around, trying to make some girl laugh and wind up getting himself into trouble. He didn’t want the boundaries, he just wanted some sort of fun, some attention of which he lacked at home. He found himself doing reckless things to gain an acquaintance, oftentimes it ended in a slap on the wrist… sometimes in the face. He had made it a habit to piss off the wrong people, though he knows who to stay away from. He also knows who is just in it because he has daddy’s money. Plenty of girls are just in it for the money, and quite frankly he couldn’t care. It’s someone to love. Someone to love him, even if it is just temporary.
He was the first one in the lunchroom, he always was. He watched as Aaron and the little on trickled in, followed by Derek and his girlfriend, and then Emily and a freshman who looked just like Rosalyn. It took him a moment before it all clicked, and when it did he shook it off. He knew that he couldn’t be a dick to this kid. Any of them really. He felt a sense of trust and belonging with his small group.
He made light conversation with Aaron before they exchanged worried glances. The kid had no food…. Like nothing, zilch, zip, zero. A smashed sandwich that looked inedible. He made a silent vow to look out for that kid, whether or not it was with money or just looking out for him. He was going to be there. He got up and grabbed him some food… What do kids like? Chicken nuggets, he decided. All kids like chicken nuggets. When he arrived back at the table, he realized the kid was off, and Emily was being okay towards him.
After the boy, who has been identified as Spencer was calmed down, he started in on the teasing. “Emily, damn why are your pupils so dilated?” He jokingly asked, knowing damn well with the weed scent mixed with the flowery perfume she tried to cover it up with.
He laughed as she just glared back at him, then he decided to kick it up a notch. He grabbed her hot Cheetos when she wasn’t looking and hid them in his lap. Messing with a high Emily was his favorite pastime. When she became enraged, Aaron made him give them back. Which he thought ruined all of the fun. Why couldn’t Aaron just loosen up a little?
The rest of the period passed quickly, laughter filling his lungs. The high of happiness soon wears off as he walks to his next class. More like straight pass it… he doesn’t feel like dealing with anything, or anyone for that matter. He decides to go to the third floor, he sits with the stoners up there, denying the blunt. He doesn’t want to get high… not right now. Not here. The idea of being high at school makes his skin crawl, it’s the most relaxing thing that could happen. So he just sits, letting the smell wash over him as he closes his eyes, thinking of when he was little, playing baseball with his father. Before everything changed. Before his dad got the job that changed everything. Oh to go back to that day.
