In accordance with the new, secular tradition, here's my yearly Over the Garden Wall fanart. I decided to mix walnut ink with iron gall ink, to mixed results.
Here's my art from previous years;

Sneak Peak of My Over The Garden Wall AU!
Adelaide and The Woodsman
INT. WOODSMAN’S HOUSE, STUDY – NIGHT
The camera then zooms out to THE WOODSMAN's study at the top of his castle. Woodsman stares up longingly at the star through his skylight. Floating across his study are hundreds of glowing blue orbs, all of The Unknown’s wishes left ungranted.
THE WOODSMAN
I feel your pull. My heart rumbles with such…hunger.
Woodsman’s face drops in annoyance as he turns to his wife, mixing together some kind of potion.
THE WOODSMAN
Adelaide! Did you hear me? I am impatient!
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
I heard you. I’m coming.
Adelaide drops a single speck of gold powder into a bottle, making it turn from bright blue into a sickly, glowing green.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
And luckily for you, I’m devilishly good with a pair of tweezers.
THE WOODSMAN
Is that a brag?
The two of them chuckle briefly.
THE WOODSMAN
It’s rather weak but alright.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Fifty grains. No more, no less.
Adelaide hands Woodsman the potion and he looks at it more admirably.
THE WOODSMAN
Oh, I take that back. You are impressive.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
As I shine in your light.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Tonight’s the night, Adelaide! Glory will be mine!
Woodsman looks up to the star before walking towards a pedestal in the middle of his study. He places the bottle delicately on the pedestal’s center and rests his hand right next to it. He exhales briefly as he chants arcane words while magic swirls around him.
THE WOODSMAN
(WHISPERS) The field. At night. Terror.
The sigils on the pedestal and the floor of his study glow with green, ethereal energy. Adelaide looks to her in concern before staring at her husband confidently.
THE WOODSMAN
(WHISPERS) Nefilius.
As he finishes, a beam of green energy shoots from the bottle and bursts out through the skylight until it hits the star Woodsman was talking to. As the bottle’s energy surges throughout the room, Adelaide, meanwhile, looks up at the night sky in awe and triumph.
THE WOODSMAN
(Shouting) Golden Heaven! The guilty star!
Surging with power, Woodsman grabs onto the beam, which is now working as a tether between our world and the star and using it to try and pull the star towards him. As Woodsman tugs, the star inches closer and closer. Adelaide look on in amazement, almost as certain that absolute victory was in their hands as Woodsman was.
THE WOODSMAN
Yes! YES!!! YE–
But just then, the tether breaks and the star returns to where it once was in the sky
THE WOODSMAN
NO!
The surge of energy knocks Woodsman onto his back. When he gets back up, he sees that the bottle’s contents have turned pitch-black. Adelaide gasps while Woodsman’s expression changes from shock to utter fury. He takes the bottle and throws it to the floor, yelling in rage. Adelaide tries her best to calm her husband’s temper.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Woodsman. Woodsman!
Woodsman ignores her as he runs around his study, knocking everything he can find onto the floor.
THE WOODSMAN
No! No! No, I had it! I felt it!
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
I-it’s okay. It’s okay-careful! Woodsman, you need those.
Woodsman throws another bottle of potion at the wall before taking deep breaths as his wife soothes him.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Calm. Calm. Good boy.
Adelaide places her hands on Woodsman’s chest approvingly before he turns and walks away.
THE WOODSMAN
No! I can’t take this-this wanting that is never satisfied!
Woodsman looks up at the sky and notices all the wishes floating around him. He reaches out and pulls three of them towards him with a wave of his hand.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
W-What are you doing? Woodsman...!
Woodsman ignores her as he grabs one of the wishes and almost crushes it into his hand. Adelaide stops him, placing her hands on the wish and taking it away from him.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Please, do not destroy those wishes.
THE WOODSMAN
(EXASPERATED) Just three small wishes. Who would notice?
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
The teacher who prepares your favorite venison, for one. That’s his wish.
THE WOODSMAN
There are other cooks.
Adelaide plucks up the second wish Woodsman was about to destroy.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
And the tailorsman.
She picks up the third
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
And please, that one’s for Beatrice.
THE WOODSMAN
In that case.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Be serious. Hmm, how would you like the wishes of the Unknown?
THE WOODSMAN
You found the traitors?
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
You may fortify yourself with as many of their wishes as you want. No one will notice.
The camera cuts to Adelaide unfurling a map of the Unknown on one of the tables.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
There’s a young woman who takes to fetch the water in the well.
Adelaide takes a figurine of a woman holding a water bucket and moves it across the map as visual aid.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
She goes to the forest all alone through the night. It is said she always returns with a lighter load.
THE WOODSMAN
So wicked. She’s taking supplies to the Unknown.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
We’ll find them. And everyone knows that traitors deserve to lose their wishes entirely and forever.
THE WOODSMAN
From the moment I met you and saw your wish, I knew you were the only woman worthy to be my fiancé.
Woodsman suddenly grabs Adelaide and dips her.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Oh! (GIGGLES) Woodsman!
THE WOODSMAN
Let’s go catch some traitors.
Woodsman dips Adelaide again before laughing devilishly.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
You dip magnificently!
THE WOODSMAN
Don’t I?
Woodsman continues to dip Adelaide all around the study.
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Oh! Such control!
THE WOODSMAN
It’s all in the arm and the bent knee.
He dips her one more time.
THE WOODSMAN
How’s that?
ADELAIDE OF THE PASTURE
Dizzying.
The two exchange one last loving smile.

After rewatching Over the Garden Wall, I finally have some more ideas for the characters in Over the Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall
Dana would be Miss Langtree, the schoolteacher. Peter would be Jimmy Brown
Janine would be The Tavern Keeper maybe?
Samhain (from the show and Spirits unleashes if I remember right) would be Enoch because pumpkin heads
Ray could be Ms Daniel (the woman Greg steals the rock facts rock from)
Adelaide might be Eleanor Twitty (The Librarian)
I don’t know about who Winston, Peck and Louis would be yet… if you guys have any ideas let me know :)
Update! Thanks to @sweetieboo I found roles for Louis and Peck!
Louis is Quincy Endicott, and that one apartment neighbor from the first movie (She’s blonde, dunno if she has a name) will be Marguerite Grey
Peck’s the Highway man. He stares at you until you do something about the environment.

Behold, crossovers! And all with the same show, at that.
Tumblr media
First up is Greg and JF with Sarah and Duck. Two cute, funny little kids and their green pets (though one pet seems a little perplexed). Greg and Sarah would be best friends and nobody can change my mind. (Also, fun rock fact, this was the first OTGW pic I drew!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next two are connected. See, the instant I saw Adelaide, my brain went "evil Scarf Lady". So of course, I had to draw a crossover.
Part One is Adelaide and Scarf Lady just meeting up and looking suspiciously at one another, with strands of wool in their hands.
Part Two is their respective small sarcastic blue characters that have connections to them, Beatrice and Bag. While Bag is just looking confused, Beatrice just goes "Yeah, your Adelaide's way better than mine..."
(Probably my worst Beatrice though, sorry)
Also, "Sarah & Duck" is this one BBC kid show my siblings used to watch. It's a little like OTGW in its oddity and coziness, but less American than British and without the spookiness and drama. It's rather lovely.

Over the Garden Wall AU - Beatrice Is A Star!
THE WOODSMAN
Thank you. Thank you so much, Audrey. Having to pretend to care. Having to power at only my most desperate moments has been quite annoying.
He then turns and walks towards one of the cizitens of The Unknown.
THE WOODSMAN
And waiting for you to hand over the woodpecker is making me unexpectedly crushed. Luckily, your friends were kind enough to volunteer their wishes to me. Hmm, perhaps I’ll start with the one of the cizitens of The Unknown.
 AUDREY
(O.S.) Stop! Okay! Okay! I’ll give you the woodpecker!
In what may go down in The Unknown’s history as the single greatest example of desperate times calling for desperate measures, Audrey raises Beatrice over her head and presents him as the woodpecker. Woodsman and the crowd look at Beatrice in astonishment and understandable disbelief.
UNKNOWN CITIZEN #1
Is this a joke?
BEATRICE
(WHISPER TO HERSELF) I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. No! There’s no way I can do this! (SHOUTING) People of the Unknown!
THE UNKNOWN CITIZEN #2
She talks!
BEATRICE
Hello! I come feom the sky! I am here for you!
THE UNKNOWN CITIZEN #3
Oh my goodness! It is the most beautiful star I’ve ever seen!
THE UNKNOWN CITIZEN #3
It’s a miracle!
THE UNKNOWN CITIZEN #4
Oh, this is amazing!
THE WOODSMAN
What game is this!?
BEATRICE
Woodsman! If you want me, first you have to free everyone’s wishes!
Woodsman doesn’t believe that Beatrice is a star.
THE WOODSMAN
That’s just the human girl!
To convince the crowd of his power, Beatrice calls to the animals.
BEATRICE
WEEE!!!
And the animals answer. The audience marvels at Beatrice's glory, fully convinced.
BEATRICE
It’s over Woodsman! You have no choice but to surrender!
Woodsman smiles indignantly.
THE WOODSMAN
I have no choice?
Woodsman raises his staff and all the wishes he held hostage spin around before crushing into his palm in his hand. The crowd watches in horror as several of them faint and weak.
AUDREY
Wha-! No!
The surge of power Woodsman receives from eating all those wishes at once begins to transform him. He grows larger, so large that the staff, which was once more than a foot taller than him now only had the head poking out of his closed fist. Shaggy, light brown hair covers his body as his shirt and shoes tear away as a result of his new size. The bottom of his jaw extends into an underbite with large canines jutting out of it. His legs bend and contort in a way that made them resemble a wolf’s rather than a person’s. Sharp, black horns grow from the top of his head and his eyes become entirely green. Even Adelaide are horrified by Woodsman's transformation but Woodsman himself relishes his new body and laughs in triumph over the power it grants him. His voice reverberates as he speaks.
THE WOODSMAN
You think I’m an idiot? I have the power! I have your wishes! I will have the woodpecker! Now where is it?
Audrey is so terrified by what has just transpired that she can’t help but look at the lights coming from the top of the house. Woodsman follows her gaze as realization dawns on him.
INT. WOODSMAN'S HOUSE, STUDY - NIGHT
Back inside the study, all of the wishes and a myriad of seemingly random objects swirl around Wirt.
WIRT
I think it’s working! Maybe? Almost? We’re close! We’re so close! We just need to add one more ingredient!
