Tumblr media
Deszczowy 7 sierpnia 1989 roku.

Germany is often associated with bustling cities like Berlin and Munich, but there are hidden gems in the northern region that are brimming with history and character. These cities are part of the Hanseatic League of Cities, and they offer a unique perspective on Germany's rich heritage. Here, we'll take you on a journey through Muenster, Osnabruck, Lubeck, and Rostock/Warnemunde, the four most underrated historic cities in Germany.
Tumblr media
1. Muenster: Germany's Cycling Capital
Just an hour and 20 minutes by train from Dusseldorf Airport Station, Muenster is a city that deserves a 2-3 day stay. The historic marketplace, Prinzipalmarkt, is a must-visit, and during the summer, the Aasee offers a solar boat ride to the All-Weather Zoo, known for its conservation efforts. The renovated Hafen (harbor) is perfect for dining and entertainment, and Muenster is home to the first and only Picasso Museum in Germany.

3. Lubeck - The City of the Seven Spires
Lubeck stands out with its stunning Brick Gothic architecture, surrounded by the river Trave. forbidden love. (Paul Baumer x Reader)
pairing: Paul Baumer x Reader
fluff/angst
plot: you are a British nurse, who stumbles across an injured German soldier by the name of Paul.
The year was 1918, approximately 4 days before the war ends. You were a nurse working for the British Army, sometimes you regretted it due to the things you had to do to other soldiers. Specifically, you were deployed to the Western Front. You have never had any run-ins with the Germans, but that was about to change.
You were getting ready to go to bed, when you saw a figure in the distance. “A German…” you thought to yourself as you grabbed a knife. However, as it got closer, it sounded like it was in pain… and it was limping. You got closer, on guard if the person tries to attack you. The two of you reached each other, the soldier stumbling into your arms. “Help…” He was heavy, but he needed help.
You eventually got him on a medical table, in which you treated his injuries, a bullet to the leg. “That should do it.” There was silence for a few moments. “Hey! Are you awake?!” You yelled out, with the man groaning. “Thank you. I mean… I can’t thank you enough.” He softly held your hand, rubbing his thumb across it. “Ah… but I can’t see you-” As he lifted up his helmet, he stared at you in awe. You were so… pretty, magnificent, just so pure and angelic-looking.
“What’s your name dear?” You asked him, to take him away from the topic of his injuries. “My name is Paul, Paul Baumer.” He smiled at you, one could say that love at first sight does not exist, but that’s what Paul just experienced. “What about you?” He asked, leaning up slightly against the wall. “My name is (Name) (Last Name). But Paul, you can call me Nurse (Name).” Paul looked down, whispering about you. “What a beautiful name for a beautiful person like you.”
You sat down next to him, wanting to know about Paul. “Where are you from?” Paul looks at you, taking a deep breath. “Osnabruck, Germany. I got lost and eventually found you.” Oh no. He was a German, but did he not know that he was on British territory? “Paul… this is, this is British Territory.” You panicked, Paul did seem a caring guy, he could become a prisoner of your country.
Paul looked frightened, seemingly thinking that you will turn him in. You had an idea. “Paul, I’m not going to turn you in. I can let you reside in my tent. I’ll say that you’re an injured British soldier. Is that okay?” Paul hesitates for a moment, but nods in agreement. “Besides, I got any type of care a guy needs.” You smiled as you put your hands on Paul’s face. You thought he was cute, so pure and innocent. He then puts his hands on your face, smiling at you.
“(Name), I apologize… but you’re really gorgeous-” You cut Paul off with a kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. He widened his eyes, before giving in and wrapping his arms around your waist. Both of you pull apart and stare at each other for a short period, before giggling.
“Thank you, dear (Name).”
“You’re welcome, Paul.” It was going to be hard trying to conceal Paul from your superiors.
