I am so confused.
Even when this lens was first released it was $850 brand new.
Does he think people aren't going to check current prices? Did he get scammed and overpay originally? Not to mention eBay gives you a suggestion for pricing.
I really wish I hadn't sold my lenses. There was a point where I had a major decline in my health and I could no longer make comedy for my main website. At the same time, my parents were getting sicker and needed more help. We were also struggling financially. I was so depressed and I was sure I'd never do photography again, so I sold most of my lenses.
We needed the money at that moment, but in the grand scheme of things, the lens money barely made a dent in our situation. Not to mention, we got a small inheritance from my grandmother soon after, so that increased my regret. It took me years of scrounging and saving to build up a collection of 5 lenses. None of them top of the line, but all of them a good value for their performance.
Thankfully I kept the lens I used to take pictures of Otis—my "puppy lens." But my ultra wide, my macro, my tele, and my portrait lens... all gone.
And now I am trying to figure out the cheapest way I can do what I want to do with photography and I'm remembering just how expensive this hobby is. But I think I need to figure this out because I have had a substantial boost in my mental health since I started taking photos again.
A good 50mm could serve several roles. I can add extension tubes for macro. It is about 75mm on an APS-C camera, which is good for portraits. The wide aperture would allow low light photography. Combined with my Otis lens, all I'd be missing is telephoto and ultra wide angle, but honestly I never did much of that anyway. Though ultra wide angle photography is probably the most fun you can have taking pictures—even if the photographic uses are rare.
I did get a Nifty Fifty for my trip to Orlando. I wanted to see if I could get away with using a $100 lens. For the price, it is surprisingly good. And it is the first lens I recommend to anyone starting photography—as almost every camera brand has its own version. But I had several issues trying to make it work for my needs.
It's not very sharp, which is actually fine for shots taken at a distance, but would be a deal breaker for product photos and macro shots which are very close up. Those require as much detail as possible, especially if you need to crop. When you are trying to show people the fine hairs on a bee's body, a soft image just isn't going to have the same impact.
It also does not nail focus consistently and it back focuses (it focuses more behind than in front). Which is a deal breaker for my efforts to use less energy. When I did my portrait shoot with Katrina, I had to do many test shots and look at them on the computer to make sure I was getting them in focus. I was going back and forth and getting up and down. In the end I had to use a smaller aperture and higher ISO to get increased depth of field. And even then the tip of her nose was soft in the photos. Not to mention the added noise from raising the ISO.
This Sigma is a wonderful lens. I'm trying to find a good deal used, but it's still out of reach for now. I have no idea what my financial future is right now and until I know for sure that my brother will release my inheritance in March, I have to be more careful with my budget.
I am going to sell all of my studio lighting gear and use those funds to help me set up a new studio upstairs. I'm hoping that will cover the new lights I will need, but I don't think it will be enough for a lens. Someone suggested a site where I can turn my yard into a dog park, so I am looking into that. I might also see if I can get some gigs restoring photos for people, but it is so difficult finding clients.
Every problem has a solution. And maybe the universe will do me a favor and keep my brother from being terrible just this once.

There's always been adventure about our relationship. There's always been photography about our relationship. Of course then sprinkle in a few healthy drops of creativity.
In the year after we were married, I traveled with a production crew to Greece as a production assistant. The executive producer of the series was kind enough to arrange my return flight to the States with an extended layover in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam?
Yeah. Schiphol Airport, Holland. Gateway to the rest of this tiny country as well as Western Europe. Holland, though, is where I have family and where Kimmer 'n I met once my Greece gig was over (it actually ended on the island of Santorini). She flew from Seattle to Amsterdam (prolly with a flight change in Chicago). I flew from Santorini to Athens and then to Amsterdam.
Once we met up in Holland, we stayed with family there (two different homes, I think, maybe three) and went on whirlwind visits with family in other parts of the country along with a bit of straight up tourism.
The Efteling's where that photo of the two of us above was snapped. The Efteling which is a fantasy themed amusement park with a section that's literally just a nice and quiet park.
And yes.
We are on a roller coaster and I'm taking a picture with an old fashioned SLR, the kind where the film had to be developed before you could actually see the photograph you'd just taken.
Also, I'm not really experiencing the roller coaster, am I.
Yeah. That's a habit that never really went away although I will say it was replaced and enabled by much better and smaller tech.
Adventure, though.
Photography.
Creativity.
I was gonna say these things characterized our dating and newlywed years but who am I kidding?
Tomorrow morning (early morning) we get on a flight to Orlando for a Universal Studios vacation. Aside from the smart phones we're both packing, I've got a Kodak cube cam that shoots with a 180 degree field of view. We're also bringing with us cards we made for each other (actually, cards we're in the process of making for each other) in celebration of our wedding anniversary this coming Tuesday.
As I said, who am I kidding?
Adventure, photography, and creativity has always been our jam.
When we were dating, the adventure was usually state fairs, the Seattle Center, and day trips to places like Whidbey Island. When we got married, we added Disneyland and Disney World to our repertoire (along with that one glorious trip to Holland). During Linzy's junior high and high school years it was summer camp every year atop the occasional Disney surprise. And then in recent years we added the Escape Campervan experience for separate adventures down the West Coast, along the California coast, throughout the California interior, and from the bottom left corner of Utah to the middle right side of the state, ticking off National Parks as we went.
Of course we took a billion photographs in the process.
And one of us wrote a metric ton about it.
Adventure.
Photography.
Creativity.
From Christmas trees, to birthday/anniversary/holiday cards, to special events, to interior design, to birthday parties (surprise and otherwise), to road trips, to vacations heck.
Even when it comes to our day to day. It's simply how we enter into the world together. And, apparently, it's gonna be how we keep entering into the world.

Conceived as an athenaeum for business scholars, the three-story, 68,000-square-foot structure takes inspiration from its Tampa Bay setting and the indigenous coral stone that lines its shore. Like the stone, the building is a porous container with openings carved out of its volume that house program and allow sunlight and landscaping to penetrate deep within.
One of these openings is the light-filled central commons and scholars’ garden that support casual learning and encourage productive collisions between students and faculty. The multi-story commons and scholar garden are spatially intermeshed and ringed with active programs spaces including a trading room, community room, break rooms and classrooms that connect the learner to their environment.
The most unique feature of the building is its glass façade that metaphorically recalls the openings in regional organic coquina or coral stone. To achieve the impression and depth of surface one would find in coquina, the design team created an inventive composition of flat glazing units.
These elements appear three dimensional, consisting of a ceramic fritted first pane that is double run with two tones of a circular pattern and a second, reflective one-way mirror glass pane that allows views out while reflecting the patterned ceramic coating of the first pane, resulting in a glass surface with a three-dimensional quality or a shadowed depth that belies its constructive flatness.
In addition, the glazing system is designed to resisted hurricane force winds and projectiles and reject the intensive Floridian heat gain. The building is LEED Gold certified.

Orlando Jones
Orlando Jones (born April 10, 1968) is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He is known for being one of the original cast members of the sketch comedy series MADtv, for his role as the 7 Up spokesman from 1999 to 2002, and for his role as the African god Anansi on Starz's American Gods.
Early life
Jones was born in Mobile, Alabama, on April 10, 1968. His father was a professional baseball player in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He moved to Mauldin, South Carolina, when he was a teen and graduated from Mauldin High School in 1985. One of his early acting experiences involved playing a werewolf in a haunted house to help raise money for the junior/senior prom. Jones enrolled in the College of Charleston, South Carolina. He left in 1990 without finishing his degree.
To pursue his interest in the entertainment industry, Jones, together with comedian Michael Fechter, formed a production company, Homeboy's Productions and Advertising. Together Jones and Fechter worked on several projects including a McDonald's commercial with basketball superstar Michael Jordan for the McDonald's specialty sandwich the "McJordan".
He scored his first Hollywood job in 1987, writing for the NBC comedy A Different World, on which he had a small guest role in the season five finale. During 1991-92, Jones penned the Fox series Roc and, in 1993, he co-produced The Sinbad Show. He also made a brief appearance on the FOX sitcom Herman's Head in 1992.
Career
MADtv
After hosting Fox's music series Sound FX, in 1994, Jones became one of the original nine cast members of MADtv. Unlike some of his fellow original repertory performers on MADtv, Jones came to the show with limited sketch comedy experience. However, his comedy writing and television producing skills proved to be valuable to the early success of the show.
Throughout the first two seasons of MADtv, Jones produced characters like the Cabana Chat band leader Dexter St. Croix and Reverend LaMont Nixon Fatback, the vocal follower of Christopher Walken. He was also noted for his impressions of Thomas Mikal Ford, Temuera Morrison, Warwick Davis, Danny DeVito, Michael Jai White, Eddie Griffin, and Ice Cube.
After two seasons on MADtv, Jones left the show to pursue a movie career. However, Jones returned to MADtv in 2004 to celebrate its 200th episode.
Other television projects
Aside from MADtv, Jones made many other television appearances. Perhaps his most popular and enduring television appearance was not in the form of a sitcom or television drama, but rather in a series of humorous commercials as the spokesperson for 7 Up where he gained wide recognition.
This exposure led to a plethora of opportunities for Jones. First, he hosted an HBO First Look special in 2000 and then, in 2003, Jones was given his own late night talk show on FX called The Orlando Jones Show. Although his talk show was short lived, Jones continued to make additional television appearances. In 2003, he appeared on The Bernie Mac Show and on Girlfriends. In 2006, Jones decided to return to television as one of the lead characters of ABC's crime drama The Evidence, as Cayman Bishop. He has also appeared in two episodes of Everybody Hates Chris, the first in 2007 as Chris's substitute teacher and the second in 2008 as Clint Huckstable, an allusion to the character Cliff Huxtable played by Bill Cosby on The Cosby Show.
In 2008, he appeared as Harold Wilcox, a violent veteran with PTSD, on New Amsterdam. In the first season of the show, Jones also starred on Nick Cannon's Wild 'N Out. Jones was the first guest star on the show. Jones was the co-host of ABC's Crash Course (which was canceled after 4 episodes). On November 16, 2009, it was announced on TV Guide that Jones had been cast as Marcus Foreman, Eric Foreman's brother on House, appearing in the season six episode "Moving the Chains". In 2013, he was hired as a principal actor in the FOX television series Sleepy Hollow. The freshman drama opened to FOX's highest fall drama premiere numbers since the premiere of '24' in 2001.
From 2016 through 2019, Jones portrayed Mr. Nancy, aka the African god Anansi, in the Starz series American Gods.
Film projects
After leaving MADtv, Jones expanded his cinema resume. He appeared in a bit part in his first big screen film, In Harm's Way (1991), Jones then joined Larry David in the feature Sour Grapes (1998), playing the character of an itinerant man. Subsequently, he appeared in Woo (1990), Mike Judge's Office Space (1999), alongside fellow MADtv alumnus David Herman, and in Barry Levinson's praised drama, Liberty Heights (1999). Since then, Jones has appeared in Magnolia (1999), New Jersey Turnpikes (1999) and in Harold Ramis' Bedazzled (2000).
During the 2000s, Jones' career began to branch out. In addition to his witty appearances in the 7-Up campaigns, Jones played the role of Clifford Franklin in The Replacements (2000) and the horror film From Dusk till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (2003). In 2002, Jones landed the lead role of Daryl Chase in the action-dramedy Double Take (2001), alongside Eddie Griffin, and worked with David Duchovny, Seann William Scott and Julianne Moore in Ivan Reitman's sci-fi comedy, Evolution (2001). Jones was also in the 2009 film Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant and he appeared as the computer Vox 114 in The Time Machine (2002). His other more recent films includes Biker Boyz (2003), Godzilla (2005), Runaway Jury (2003) and Primeval (2004). Jones appeared in an uncredited cameo and played in Grindhouse Planet Terror (2007 film).
In 2011 Jones appeared in the documentary film Looking for Lenny in which he talks about Lenny Bruce and freedom of speech. In 2012, Jones starred in Joe Penna's original interactive thriller series Meridian created in conjunction with Fourth Wall Studios.
Voice acting
Jones has been featured in many voice acting projects over the years. In 1993, Jones appeared in Yuletide in the 'hood and in 1998, he made a guest appearance in the animated comedy TV Series, King Of The Hill. More recently, he lent his voice to the TV series Father of the Pride and the video games Halo 2 as the marine Sergeant Banks as well as other black marines and L.A. Rush. In 2006, he co-created, produced and voice acted for the MTV2 animated series The Adventures of Chico and Guapo.
In early April 2013, it was largely thought that Jones would be taking Tyler Perry's place as Madea. This stemmed from Jones's own report that he would be taking over the role, and photography of himself impersonating Madea. This led to public outcry from fans. Perry later revealed, however, that this was an elaborate prank played by Jones, stating, "That was an April Fools' joke that HE did. Not true. And not funny. When I’m done with Madea, she is done."
Personal life
Jones married former model Jacqueline Staph in 2009. They have a daughter. In October 2011, Jones provoked controversy when he joked on Twitter that someone should kill former Governor of Alaska and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He apologized for the comment several days later.

Choose the right architectural photographer for your Orlando project.
Let’s quickly establish a fact: photographers in a market like Orlando are a dime a dozen, and almost all would swear that they are the best for the job, irrespective of whatever niche they belong to. But how do you get the best architectural photographer in Orlando for your project in the midst of this chaos? Should we even be specifically searching for an architectural photographer? How about hiring any commercial photographer or hospitality photographer? They’ll do the same job, right? Wrong. A professional architectural photographer will help your architecture firm grow in unprecedented ways, and you’d be wise to understand this. Let’s check out a few tips that would help you in choosing the right architectural photographer for your project:
· Choose an architectural photographer – This would seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be amazed at the number of people who hire broad commercial photographers or hospitality photographers and expect top-notch architectural photography for their project. In simpler terms, use a specialist and higher a photographer who focuses on shooting architectural photography alone.
· Ensure they have fast delivery times and digital delivery services – A professional architectural photographer often demonstrates his efficiency by having quick delivery times. No matter the quality of his end product, if he refuses to deliver on time, it could seriously hamper the progress of your business. So choose one who delivers fast, and have a preference for those who send you soft copies online.
· Value photographers who schedule their shoots neatly – Within the arena of hospitality photography in general, a quick way to decide who’s professional is how serious they take their scheduling. And this should apply to your choice of an architectural photographer as well. Always find out exact appointment times and shoot lengths beforehand. And value those who have neat structures.
· Ensure that you have full rights to the images – Paying for pictures, then finding out much later that you were not given the full rights to the same is a common rookie mistake, one that you best did without. Always make sure to verify and re-verify your photographer's image use policies. And when the terms are unclear, always err on the side of caution, until more understanding is obtained.
· Always get references – Now this isn’t specific to architectural or commercial photography, but it’s a commonly known fact that references and reviews can give the most practical insight about any business. Never be too much in a rush that you miss this very important step. Always solicit for references!
Arrow Studio offers top-notch architectural photography in and around Orlando, with tons of positive reviews from the hospitality industry, real estate, and architectural firms.

Local Competition
Three Main Competitors in home construction
Primont Homes
Website Experience
Their product photography is excellent. They show the front picture of the house and floor plans of the house depending on elevation. Also, there is a phone number that you can call for more details or set up an appointment. It is possible for people to register their email to get future communications.
Market Positioning
Primont Homes have projects in Brampton, Cornell, Milton, Oakville, Richmond Hill and Woodbridge. The type of house depends on each location. For example, condos in Brampton is different from the detached house in Oakville. People are buying for the price and what type of house do they want.
Reviews
I checked their rating on HomeStars and it is 2.8/10 with 55 reviews. People are complaining that it is too long for them to complete the house or were not satisfied with the final product
Pricing
Only one of their project is Woodbridge is ready for move in now. The pricing depends on how large the house is. The price starts at $799,900.
Social Media
Only 659 people have liked their facebook page. They use it to promote their future projects. However, their rating is very bad and can be seen the top right corner of the page.
Mattamy Homes
Website Experience
Their website is much more simple and they do not have a lot of pictures. They have phone numbers listed where you call depending on the location of the house.
Market Positioning
Unlike other builders, they have projects in cities in the US such as Charlotte, NC and Orlando, FL. Also, they have projects in Calgary and Edmonton. People will buy for the price by comparing to other builders that have other projects in the area.
Reviews
Their average customer review is 3/10 from 178 reviews. People are not happy with the final product of the house or the customer service.
Pricing
Their pricing depends on the location of the house. Houses start from $845,990 in Richmond Hill and towns starting from $499,990 in Whitby
Social Media
They use their page to promote their projects and their design studio where you can customize your house. They have a larger following than primont homes because they have 21,802 likes
Treasure Hill Homes
Website Experience
The animation at the beginning catches your eye. They highlight their projects and show pictures of the houses. Their website is easy to navigate. You can contact them by calling their number or filling out your details in the contact page
Market Positioning
The type of houses is spread out by which community are you interested in. They can be unique by offering homes in Oshawa where the other two builders are not offering. People buy houses for the price they believe is fair.
Reviews
They do not have good reviews 2.2 stars out of 5 on Google. People are unhappy with delays or have problems with the final product
Pricing
Their prices depend on the type of house and where it is located. They have prices which they can compete with other builders.
Social Media
They use social media to promote their new projects. Only 6777 people liked their page.
Overall, the only way that these three home builders can show their strength in having lower prices than their completion and building houses on different locations. All three builders suffer from bad reviews. It is important to build a quality final and keep your customer satisfied

What makes fine art photography different?
Examining the realm of fine art photography prompts us to consider the perennial query, "What is art?" It's a complex question that frequently boils down to the Orlando Fine Art Photographer's intentions. The method an artist uses to create their work distinguishes fine art from other forms of art. This distinguishes fine art photographs from hastily taken camera shots.
The goal of commercial photography is to promote goods and increase sales. The goal of photojournalism as well as various forms of documentary photography is to portray a situation or subject matter objectively while preserving the truth in the images that are being captured. Whenever it comes to high-quality art, there are conceptual differences.
● Investigating fine art photography as a creative medium
An Orlando Studio Photographer can communicate and create ideas through fine art photography. The final pictures may be abstract, static portraits, or landscapes. However, it's crucial to absorb the knowledge of the experts and value the work in the style before diving in and producing one's fine art photographs. Examining this work can assist you in determining the type of art that you wish to produce.
• Learning about landscape photography
Landscape photography frequently belongs in the category of fine art, as demonstrated by the works of great photographers throughout history. These talented individuals try to convey the reality of a scenario to as many people as possible. Through the lens of an Orlando Studio Photographer, one can discover a great deal about worldwide nature as well as environmental problems.
● Investigating the field of fine art portraiture
Although only a few portraits are regarded as fine art, portraiture may be a magnificent example of high art. For instance, headshots made for a company's website wouldn't fall under the fine art category. On the other hand, purposefully made portraits, such as those by Justin Dingwall or the renowned Robert Mapplethorpe, aim to depict the world and convey a desire to comprehend it. People enjoy looking at other individuals, and taking photographs and self-portraits is a great way to document what it's like to be human.
● Discovering the hidden meanings in still life photography
The still-life is an arrangement of inanimate things meant to serve as the composition's main focus. Numerous well-known still-life artworks and pictures can be found in museums across the world. Even while life shots these days frequently take the shape of product photography, you may still create something original and fantastical by thinking outside the box. You can develop a unique voice and see the subject from a different angle by approaching simple subjects with whimsy.
● Following your interests
These are just a handful of the many shapes that fine art images can take; the field of photography is almost limitless. If you're interested in astrophotography, fashion photography, or street photography, identify some popular images that inspire you by doing some study.
Learning from professionals is a fantastic method to advance your skills. What sets exceptional high-art photographs apart? Fine art photography adheres to the same standards as excellent commercial or product photography, notwithstanding the subjective nature of art. Orlando Fine Art Photographer and Instructor mainly concentrate on striking compositions, lovely lighting, and substance that draws the spectator in.
