Organic Spice Expected To Reach USD 442.75 Million By The Year 2028, At A CAGR Of 5.4%.
Tumblr media
Organic spices are simply the seeds, leaves, barks, dried fruits, and roots that are used in cooking to enhance the flavour, aroma, and colour of food as well as for medicinal purposes. India’s introduction of spices to the global market tends to accelerate the expansion of the market in the Asia Pacific area. Numerous spices are offered in powdered, whole, and chopped forms. Chili powder, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and turmeric are the most often used spices. The most common spice consumed worldwide is black pepper, which also holds the highest market share.
The majority of spices are used today for their health benefits rather than only for taste and flavour, which has a significant impact on the growth of the organic spice market over the projection period. Turmeric, for instance, is used both internally and topically to manage diabetes by reducing blood glucose levels and preventing consequences like ulcers, sores, kidney damage, and skin issues.

Holiday Scenes: The Christmas Market
jason todd x gn!reader
summary: a date at the Christmas market with jason
rated general | wc: 0.6k
Tumblr media
The Christmas Market in Gotham isn’t very big, organizers worried about it becoming a tempting target for the city’s villains. Since you’re going with Jason, you’re not worried about that all. No, what you’re worried about is Jason eating himself sick at all the food stands. Every corner you turn there’s a new stall with tempting smells and something new to try. Jason will turn, give you a mischievous look and ask if you want to split whatever new thing is on the menu. Already you’ve shared German bratwurst piled high with translucent onions, cheese and potato pierogi fried off in bacon grease and served with a dollop of sour cream, a large soft pretzel with mustard on the side, and a baked potato loaded with all the fixings. You haven’t even gotten to dessert yet and already you have to jokingly beg for a time out to recover.
So with fragrant glasses of warm gluhwein wrapped in your hands you drag him over to the shops. Jason will stand back to watch you get excited over various finds, enjoying the flush the wine brings to your cold cheeks and the excitement in your eyes when you discover something new at the next table. Together you manage to finish up the last of your Christmas shopping with a hand blended batch of smoky earl grey tea for Alfred. You get so engrossed in a stall selling hand-knit Aran sweaters that you only mumble your acknowledgment when Jason tells you he’ll be back in a second, not even fully registering his words. Jason returns with cups of hot chocolate piled high with whipped cream and sporting sticks of cinnamon to stir them with. Gently pulls the shopping out of your hands and replaces it with a warm cup. The heat of the drink makes your nose run a little in the cold, burning your throat in the best way. It starts snowing a little, drifts of flakes gently coming down, making the steam from the hot chocolate more visible. By the time you finish your drinks, you’ve found another stall selling hand made ornaments decorated with goldwork embroidery. Excited, you get Jason to help you choose one to mark your first Christmas together. The two of you settle on a robin in a Santa hat, promise to put it up as soon as you get home.
Finally you allow Jason to drag you back to the food stalls. He’s found one selling German Christmas cookies and he’s almost giddy to try them. Vanillekipferl, lebkuchen, pfeffernusse, and nussecken disappear quickly, leaving behind only sticky fingertips and smiles. He vows to learn how to make them all so that next year the two of you can eat your favourites all season long. The crepe stand is good, but you have to sheepishly tell Jason that you like his better. The compliment gets him glowing, and for the next two weeks he won’t stop mentioning to his brothers that you think his are the best you’ve ever had. You buy some gingerbread men to go, holiday treats for the next few days.
The two of you are warm and impossibly full, ears and noses a little red from the cold. The shopping’s been done (and a few small things may have slipped into your bag while Jason wasn’t looking, a surprise for him to open later) and now you’re ready to go home. Under the soft festive lights, the snow is making everything more charming, frosting the tips of Jason’s eyelashes and catching in your hair. Unable to resist the sight of him like this, you press a quick kiss to his lips tasting the sugar and spices you find there. Hand in hand and resting your head on his shoulder, the two of you leave the Christmas Market, bright cheeked and content.

Note
I had an idea for a request so basically reader is hurting them self while helping Arven to cook and he would do anything to make them feel better !
Sure thing! So, I did a thing in a previous fic where Arven taught them about knife safety, so if it’s okay, I’m going to keep away from cuts. I hope that’s alright. Also, this isn’t strictly helping him cook? I hope you like this idea too though?
-
Burning Love
Arven x Reader, no gendered pronouns used, established relationship. CW, minor burns, kitchen accident.
--
Since the two of you moved in together, Arven has cooked nearly every single meal the two of you ate. Anything he didn’t make himself was either takeaway or was eaten at a restaurant.
You realized this when you’d gone into the kitchen to make yourself a drink and found that you didn’t know where one of your favorite cups was.
You sat there embarrassed for a moment before scouring the cabinets to find it, too embarrassed to ask Arven how he’d organized your shared kitchen.
You returned to your shared living space, drink in hand and a plot in your heart to be enacted the next morning.
Without disturbing Arven (or Mabosstiff who is still fast asleep at his feet), you tiptoe downstairs with skeledirge and head to the kitchen. Truth be told, skeledirge is no help though. He curls up in a corner and just goes back to sleep.
Now. For the plot. If Arven has made you every single meal in your home until now, you can at least make him one measly breakfast in bed. Right? Right.
Here’s the menu:
Orange juice
Churros
Eggs
Potatoes
Bacon
Heavy? Yes. Delicious? Also yes. Maybe a bit much? Also, also yes. But you’re also the champion who saved the region. You’re basically the definition of “a bit much.” You’ve got this.
The orange juice and churros are easy enough. That’s basically just pouring a glass and opening a package and warming a thing. You’ll save that for last.
Potatoes are time consuming but also not terribly hard. Arven taught you basic kitchen knife skills awhile ago, so you easily dice a few potatoes and set them to boil in some water. Once they’re boiled, you’ll pop them into the oven with some olive oil and seasoning to get the outside nice and crispy. Again, easy enough.
The tricky part is the eggs and bacon bit. Or, really deciding when you want to start the eggs. You don’t want them to get cool because no one likes a cold egg…
And bacon. Well…Bacon’s kinda easy? But you also don’t want it going cold. You also want to be sure it’s the perfect amount of crispy for Arven.
You deliberate while the potatoes boil and eventually decide that you’ll do the bacon before the eggs; after you’ve set them in the oven.
Once you’ve got the potatoes set to get all nice “home-fries”y, you take a moment to delight in the smell of the kitchen with its warm cooking spices and everything.
Gosh, cooking is fun. You get why Arven loves it so much!
Okay, time to get to the bacon.
You set the skillet down on the stovetop and get the heat going before you lay down the thick cut strips of maple bacon that Arven bought from a specialty market recently and delight in that initial sizzle. Skeledirge even lifts his head from his little bagel shape in the corner to monitor you with eager eyes.
“We’ll see if we’ve got leftovers, okay, buddy?”
He lowers his head, but keeps a predatory gaze on the bacon.
Things seem to be going well enough, so you decide to prep the eggs by cracking them into a cup, rather than risk cracking them into the pan and having some eggshell accidentally mix in while the heat is on.
You turn your back on the stovetop and oven to get three eggs all set to go. You consider cooking them in some leftover bacon grease too. Would that be good? You know Arven stores some in a jar, but you don’t know if it’s meant for cooking or not after it’s been stored like that…
By the time you’ve looked back to the oven, you can see smoke seeping from the door.
You’re no stranger to fire. Your starter pokemon was fuecoco. You’ve absolutely dealt with stupid fires before. To this day, you’re not entirely sure that skeledirge has anything more than a peanut between his precious eyes.
All that to say, you’re not afraid to open the door to the smoking oven. You’ve prepped with oven mitts, and you’re ready to deal with burnt potatoes.
What you’re not quite ready to deal with however, is the wave of heat that hits you. You know you set the oven to the correct temperature that was listed on the recipe you grabbed online, so something must have gone awry.
You’re also not quite ready to deal with potato smoke getting in your eyes.
After plopping the burning (but luckily not on fire) tray onto the stovetop, you blindly reach for the fan button on the stove hood. You especially want the smoke to start getting out of the way before any–
BEEP BEEP BEEP
….Detectors go off….
Fuck. Well now Arven’s awake.
You keep searching for the fan button to get the smoke out while your other hand goes to turn off the oven.
Unfortunately for you, your hand finds the bacon grease. Popping, sizzling bacon grease.
You curse loudly and jump back from the stovetop entirely, clutching your now burned hand as you fall to the kitchen floor.
“What’s going on?!” Arven yells as he gets downstairs. Mabosstiff is at his side, and he’s got the pokeballs for garganacl and cloyster in each hand. “What kind of fire is it?”
“No fire,” You call to him blindly from eyes, teary now not only from the smoke. “At least not that I can see? Couldn’t find the fan.”
Arven quickly gets the fan on, opens a window and gets the smoke detector turned off. He also gets the oven and stovetop burners turned off as well, all within a matter of seconds before he’s kneeling at your side.
“Show me your hand and tell me what happened.” He genuinely doesn’t sound angry, just overly concerned.
“I…Fuck!” You yelp as he gingerly moves your hand to get a look at the burn. “It’s bacon grease.” You tell him.
“Got it. Can you stand?” He asks, already moving to your side to help you to your feet. “We wanna get that under some water.”
“Yeah…”
Arven helps you over to the sink and tests the temperature of the water before he lets you run your hand under the stream. It hurts like an absolute bitch, but you’re both aware that this is standard protocol. Still, you can’t help the occasional whimper.
Arven sets to cleaning while you keep the water going.
“So…What was going on down here?” He eventually asks when he finally gets to the charred remains of the potatoes that caused this mess.
How horrible, to be spurned this way by potatoes.
You sniffle pathetically. “I wanted to make you a nice breakfast. I realized you’re always making such nice things for us, and… I hadn’t made you anything good yet. I found the recipe online for potatoes baked in the oven to get all crispy, and I think something went wrong.”
Arven gives you a soft, sweet look. “You know I’m not mad, right? I’m just worried that you could have been hurt worse. How’s the hand?”
You remove it from the stream and show him. “It’s gonna blister up hideously, but it’ll be fine, I’m sure. I’ve had worse.” You give a pointed look to skeledirge who still hasn’t moved from his corner. “Thanks for the help, by the way.” He yawns. He probably couldn’t have done much as a fire type anyway.
Arven goes on. “Keep it under the water a bit longer. …For what it’s worth, what temperature did the recipe say the potatoes should cook at?”
“I think it said like 400? 450? I can check my phone in a minute. Why?”
“...Was this a Unovan website?”
“I don’t know. Does that make a difference?”
Arven pinches the bridge of his nose, and you can’t tell if he’s trying not to laugh or yell. “Unovans use fahrenheit, not celsius.”
“Fuck me, that would absolutely do it.”
“...How are you the same person who saved the region from destruction?” He asks with a laugh.
“I don’t know!” You whine in reply. “C’mon! Be nice to me! I’m hurt!”
“Aw, I know… I’m sorry. I appreciate the effort though. I really do. Maybe you should stick to pastries or simple grains for breakfast for the next little while though?” He’s still smiling at you with a twinkling eye.
“I was also gonna make you some churros… and orange juice.”
“Together?”
“Is that a problem?”
“Well… They don’t really compliment one another, flavor wise, but…. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with having them together I guess.”
“Well then there you go. Keep being grateful to me.”
Thing is, Arven absolutely does continue being grateful to you. He also spends the next several weeks watching your every move in the kitchen, as well as keeping a watchful eye on your healing burns. He knows you know how to take care of yourself, but it’s nice to let someone in to help from time to time.

FFXIV Write 2024 - Prompt #7 - Morsel
Content Warnings: None
Spoiler Warnings: Set after the events of Dawntrail, very minor spoilers for the plot
Summary: Finally, after all of the trials and tribulations his journey to Tural had entailed, G'raha Tia finally had time to settle down and see Tuliyollal with his partners. And, at long last, he could try some of the delicious food that he'd been too busy to sample before.
Check it out below, or on Ao3: (And also here's the GPose that inspired this one)
“What did you say these were called again?” G’raha asked, inspecting the small tortilla in his hands, itself full of unfamiliar ingredients.
“Tacos!” Tiisol Ja exclaimed. “And don’t let anyone else fool you, mine are the best around. Search the markets up and down, even the whole of Tural, and you won’t find any better!”
G’raha took a moment longer to take in the sensory delight of the tasty morsel he held; the vibrant colors of the herbs and spices, the warmth of the freshly cooked meat and lightly toasted tortilla on his fingers, the mouthwatering aroma. He knew Aunt Tii was giving him an exaggerated sales pitch, but looking down at what was about to be breakfast, it wasn’t that hard to believe, either.
“Well, no time like the present, I suppose…” G'raha muttered under his breath as he puzzled out the best angle of attack. Tiisol Ja looked on, eager to see his reaction. Then all in one motion, G’raha took his first bite.
His ears immediately perked up and his mind raced, trying to place each flavor as they hit his tongue. He was torn between trying to savor the moment and more quickly getting to the next bite, and ultimately his desire for more won out. It wasn’t long before the taco had practically disappeared in his hands, gone in three more sizable bites.
G’raha absentmindedly started to lick his fingers and let his thoughts wander a bit, a satisfied smile plain as day across his face. His attention was momentarily caught by the morning sunrise sparkling as it reflected off the cerulean waters of the harbor. Didn’t Lehon’a say they were going to sit and watch the sunrise this morning? G’raha thought to himself.
G’raha was shaken out of his own head by Tiisol Ja, who was clearly interested in whether she’d landed another lifelong customer. “So, what did you think? Did Aunt Tii have it right? I’m sure that’s hard to beat!”
His eyes flashed again as he turned back to face her and share his thoughts. “You were more right than even you know, Aunt Tii! It was most delicious, like nothing I’ve ever had, and I suspect like nothing I ever will. To be truthful, my only worry is that my words will simply fail to describe it, if my partners should ask me how they taste.”
“Well, I think I’ve got something that can fix that problem…” she replied with a grin, before picking up two more tacos from the counter and holding them out to G’raha.
“Oh, of course! Why let words fail when they could taste it themselves?” G’raha exclaimed, already digging through his pockets to find his coinpurse once more.
“No, no, don’t worry over the coin. Just take them, a gift from me to your very lucky partners,” Tiisol Ja said, emphasizing her words by extending the tacos out to him.
“You’re sure?”
“Sure as our Vow of Resolve. Now go, before they get any colder!”
“Well, thank you, uh… I– we really do appreciate it!” G’raha replied, already feeling a little awkward about it but not wanting to make things any worse by refusing the generosity.
“Just make sure you all come back next time you’re in the market, yeah?”
G’raha composed himself and nodded emphatically. “We absolutely will.” She shooed him away with a hand, and he began walking briskly towards the main dock. It took all his resolve not to simply eat both tacos right then and there, but he knew the surprise would be worth it.
Well, if they haven’t already eaten, at least, he thought. A smile grew across his face. And if they have, then more for me!

You Belong to me (repost)
Pirate Captain! Alpha! Werewolf! Shouta Aizawa x Tavern owner! Luna! Reader.
Tumblr media
(I do not own Shouta Aizawa/ Eraserhead, Hizashi Yamada/Present Mic, Keigo Takami/ Hawks, Dabi/Touya Todoroki, Shoto Todoroki, Eri, or any other character that is mentioned that is from the manga/anime known as My Hero Academia, all of these characters belong to  Horikoshi Kohei. I’d like to see how many you can recognize. Comment all the characters you recognize down in the comments.  I’m extending this story off the last story I did with the Bnharem collab. I have left that group for various reasons and I advise those who want to join the group to not join them. Dm me or send me an ask for more details. If this isn’t your cup of tea, blend of spices, or brew of coffee, move on. Reader discretion is advised and remember, Piracy is a crime.)
(If y’all don’t know what a Luna is by now or you’re new here, this is what a Luna is in a nutshell: It’s an Alpha with both sets of reproductive organs and is a variant of an Alpha that can get pregnant and impregnate others.)
TW: Pirates, gun usage, ABO, blood, surgery on a wound, bullets, cauterization, leg amputation, mental stress and breakdown, assault, being held at gunpoint, sexual scene. WC: 7,450
After the long day of gathering things to set up your room for that night, You came back to your inn to set up the items you had purchased earlier in the day in your room. Once you were happy with the way you had thing set up, you went backdown into the Tavern to work until you closed up for the evening. During the day, you were cleaning up a section of the counter when the Lieutenant was sitting at the bar, staring at you with a smirk plastered on his face.
“What do you want?”  You asked as you pulled a glass over and cleaned it. “My dear, I want you to share my bed tonight.” He spoke. You froze and set the glass down that you had been cleaning.
“Do you know I’m already spoken for? I have a mate.” You spoke and showed him the faint outline of your mark. “Where is your mate? I Should tell you that my sources tell me that your mate is one of those filthy pirates. Not just any pirate though. You hooked one of those Captains to share your bed, you whore.” He spoke, his eyes widening and he rocked back in his seat laughing.
“I am not a whore, you brute. Get out of my establishment now before I have one of my guards drag you out. You might be one of the King’s guards but you are not welcome to this island.” You spoke in a firm tone. The scarred soldier got up and tilted his hat to you before leaving your tavern, as he didn’t want to stir up any commotion.
You huffed and went about your day, working and trying to calm your mind before that night when you’d help Shouta through his transformation. You decided to make him a special dinner to welcome him back home so, you decided to go into the market and pick up some special ingredients that you only bought on a special occasion. As you were shopping, you didn’t notice the patchworked soldier following you.
You had finished your shopping and was walking home when you were pinned to the wall of your Tavern, nearly dropping the contents of your basket. “You’re going to regret refusing my offer earlier, Y/n.” He spoke, tilting your head up slightly with a crooked finger tucked under your chin and leaning in for a kiss. You stared off at the full moon that was shining over the bay, looking at for any sign of The Lone Wolf, begging for Shouta to come and save you. You shut your eyes tight as the Lieutenant slid his hand up your thigh and under your skirt, not noticing something dropping behind the soldier and yanking him away and knocking him to the ground. “You don’t dare touch my mate.” A deep growling voice spoke. Your eyes shot open to see who had rescued you.
You saw none other than your Pirate Captain, holding his scarf tight around the Lieutenant. Your heart lifted a little when you saw him.
“Y/n, I’ll take care of him. Go now!” He spoke and you ran off, making sure to grab your basket and escape into through the back door of your tavern. With your heart pounding in your chest, you ascended the stairs and entered your apartment. You had shut and locked the door behind you. You sat down on the edge of your bed and stared at the floor trying to calm your heartbeat and breathing. You didn’t notice a figure appearing in your window and knocking at the glass. You jumped and looked up to see what or who it was. You calmed yourself when you saw that it was only your mate perched on the window sill. You walked over to the window and let him inside. He immediately cupped your face with his hands and looked you in the eyes, examining your body for any injuries. “Are you alright, love?
Did he hurt you in any way? Did he touch you in a bad way? Its alright, you can tell me if he did.” He spoke as he looked you in the eyes. You returned the gesture and hugged him, taking in his scent and letting him wrap his arms around you, making you feel safe in his embrace.
The next morning you woke up in your mate’s arms. You rolled over and looked at him. He woke up and smiled when he saw you. “Good morning, my love. Did you sleep well?” He asked.
“I did. Thank you. Did you sleep ok? Do you transform tonight?” You asked him. “I slept fine, my dear. I think I do transform tonight. Do you mind if I stay here tonight?” He asked.
After the lieutenant didn’t get the message the night before, Shouta comes to your tavern clearly in a fit of rage and slams his hands down on the bar. “You are leaving with me this time. It’s not safe for you here anymore. That Lieutenant is pushing his luck and making this island not safe for you. Pack your things we will leave in the morning.” He spoke. You stopped him and pulled him aside to talk. “How can you expect me to just uproot myself and leave on a ship with you? I need to arrange some things. Who would I give the tavern to? People are going to wonder where I’m going and why. I won’t leave just because some lieutenant is being a selfish jerk.” You spoke. Shouta sighed and thought for a moment. “I’ll keep my ship in the cove until the end of the week. I’m going to leave in the night with or without you.” He spoke before leaving the tavern. What you didn’t know was that the Lieutenant had heard the whole thing and creating a devious plan in his mind.
The end of the week came and you had made your mind. You wanted to leave. Escape the King’s guard that littered the island. You had given your tavern to your closest friend and packed your important items before leaving the Tavern to pause and turn back to take in the building. Letting tears fall down your face as all the memories you had here came flooding back, you had to gather all the courage within you to move your feet and head down the road, only the moonlight from the full moon above to light your path.
In the cove, The Lone Wolf and her crew were preparing to set sail for their next adventure. Shouta was pacing his quarters waiting for you to arrive with his first mate sitting with him. “She’s going to come, Captain. Let’s just hope that she isn’t going to get held up by something.” He spoke. “Or someone. That Lieutenant was staring her down as if she were a piece of meat that he was waiting to devour.” Shouta spoke and growled. He burst out of his quarters and walked across the deck and down the gangplank to the dock and up the path to clear his head and check and see if you were close. “Hey, Captain, where are you going?” One of the crew asked.
“I’m taking a walk and seeing if Y/N is even coming. Keep loading the supplies onto the boat. I’ll be back.” He spoke and trudged up the hill. He looked over the crest of the hill and saw you walking up the hill with your pack on your shoulder and a trunk on a makeshift type of cart you had been pulling all this way.
A wave of relief washed over his face when he saw you. he pulled you into his arms and held you close. “I thought you’d never come.” He spoke. “I almost didn’t come myself. But I thought it over and squared away the Tavern and my other belongings that didn’t fit into my sack or my trunk before I came. It came down to spending more than just a few days a month with you. I’d rather spend every moment of every day with you.”
You told him. He pulled away and smiled softly at you. He looked up to see a bayonet and the barrel of a musket staring him right in the eyes. “Move away from her and I won’t shoot you, filthy beast!” The lieutenant spoke.
Shouta pulled you behind him and growled. “She’s, MY mate. You don’t get to take her from me. I don’t care if you’re a part of the King’s Guard. You don’t get to take whomever you please just because you feel like it!” He spoke as his eyes began to glow. You watched as the guard kept his musket raised as Shouta began to transform. You watched in fear as the Lieutenant kept his gun trained on Shouta. “Don’t hurt him please!” You begged. “Why should I? He’s a monster.” The Guard told you. “I don’t care. He will be a better man than you will ever be.” You spoke. this enraged the lieutenant and he charged at you.
He was knocked out of the way by Shouta as he struggled to keep him down. “Go to the ship! Now!” He called to you. You were pulled out of your frozen state and you ran down the hill to the dock where The Lone Wolf was waiting to set sail.
You ran into Shouta’s first mate who caught you by the arms and helped you settle down. “Y/n, calm down. Where’s the Captain?” He asked. “He’s on the hill with the lieutenant. The Lieutenant has a gun and he’s already transformed. I don’t know what to do. The Lieutenant wants me but I’m with Shouta.” You explained. “Alright. Go down into the cargo hold and wait there. I know that’s not the best place you’d like to be right now. It’s the last place where that Lieutenant wouldn’t think to look for you. There is no way that any of us is going to let that scumbag get you.”  He spoke and disembarked off the boat to go aid the captain in his struggle against the Lieutenant. You went down into the cargo hold and hid yourself between some barrels and crates, covering your mouth to try and suppress your sobs. You shut your eyes, only wanting to be safe in your mate’s arms, not wanting this to happen. You hated how entitled the King’s Guard was and how they thought they could have whatever they wanted. Your eyes shot open when you heard a gunshot followed by a pained wolf’s howl. Was Shouta injured? Was he even alive now?  Your mind swirled with those thoughts as you had to use every ounce of your willpower to keep your body from running out onto the main deck and seeing what had happened to your mate. You glanced over at the stairs leading down into the cargo hold and saw a shadow begin to descend the stairs. You hid back between the barrels, calming your heart, hoping with every fiber of your being that the person entering the cargo hold wasn’t the Lieutenant. You felt something appear above you and you slowly looked up to see the piercing blue eyes of the lieutenant staring down at you.
“There you are. That noisy first mate was easy to break when he saw his Captain bleeding out.” He spoke then lunged at you. You ducked out of his reach and scrambled to your feet, racing to the stairs and onto the main deck, your vision was blurred until you stopped yourself at the port side of the deck and looked over to the dock where you saw the first mate bandaging a part of the captain’s right leg, was it his right leg? You didn’t know you just saw a trail of blood on the deck. Not noticing the Lieutenant coming up behind you. He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you away from the side of the boat. You screamed which caught the attention the first mate and the captain who tried to stand up with the assistance of his partner. “Get away from her, Dabi!” The voice of the harbormaster sounded. You hadn’t noticed him there before now. You wondered where he had gone and why he only showed up now. The Lieutenant that you now knew was named Dabi only tightened his grip on you. “Now why should I do that? This poor girl has been harassed by that pirate down there and I’m only doing my duty by keeping her safe.” He spoke. You covered your mouth and nose to keep the stench of the rotten and burnt  flesh that had been stitched to his normal flesh from penetrating your nostrils. As Dabi and the harbormaster argued back and forth. This gave you an opening. Taking the opportunity, you elbowed him in the gut and broke free from his grasp, running down the gangplank and into the arms of the captain. “Did he hurt you?” He asked as he looked you over. “No, I’m fine.” You reassured him. “Alright. Hizashi, take the others and get that scumbag off my ship. Do whatever you have to.” Shouta ordered. His first mate looked a little surprised and called a couple members of the crew to board the ship again to take down the Lieutenant. You helped Shouta to one of the crates still on the dock and checked his wound. “The bullet still must come out. If we don’t get to a doctor soon, we will have to cut it off before it becomes gangrene.” You spoke. “You speak of such mystery. Are you sure you aren’t a witch?” He asked with a hint of humor in his voice. You looked up at him with concern and kissed him gently. “There was a herbologist on our travels that we found and they gave me a potion that helps nullify the inner wolf when I’m in this state. Maybe we can go back to them to help with the bullet, unless you know how to remove it from my leg.” He spoke, now panting with the amount of pain he was in, trying to keep it from you.  “I should know how to remove it.” You spoke before a loud yell came from the ship. You looked over and saw a yellow energy emitting from the first mate. You had to cover your ears from how loud the noise was and you pressed yourself into the captain.
“That’s Hizashi’s power, he can emit a strong noise using his voice. He can be a bit loud at times but his voice can come in handy when giving out orders in a storm.” He explained as he held you close. He stroked your hair when the noise subsided and you removed your hands from your ears. Looking up to the deck, Dabi was no where to be seen. You had a small bit of hope swell from within you as you held Shouta’s hands and stood up to see a couple members of The Lone Wolf’s crew tie up the Lieutenant and look to Shouta. “Put him in the brig and make sure he can’t use his flames.” He ordered. The crew nodded and carried the lieutenant down into the brig. Shouta carefully stood and hobbled with your assistance onto his boat and into his quarters. You laid him on his bed and checked his bandage again. It had soaked through. You began to panic a little as you searched for another form of a bandage, disinfectant, and sterile equipment.
“What do you need, my love?” He asked. “A new bandage, disinfectant, and sterile equipment.” You spoke. Shouta looked at you with confusion and you took a deep breath. “I need a strip of clean cloth, alcohol, something to pull the bullet out of your leg, and something to cauterize the wound.” You explained. Shouta nodded and signaled for someone to come inside for a moment. “Have someone bring some old cotton cloth, some of the clear alcohol we stored the last time we visited Recovery Girl, something to pull this damn bullet out of my leg, and have Hizashi bring Shoto here.” He ordered. The crew member nodded and ran off to find the items he had requested. You stayed by his side, not moving until Hizashi came to the room with Shoto in tow.  He had hair with two colors, white on his right side and red on his left. Hizashi also had the items that you had requested in his arms. “What do you need, Captain?” Shoto asked.
“I need you to follow anything that Y/n needs, alright?”
“Yes sir. What do you need me to do?” He asked as he looked at you. “I need to pull out the bullet, clean the wound, and have you cauterize it. Then I will used the cloth to wrap it up.”  You told him. He nodded and knelt to Shouta’s leg. “Alright. Shouta, this is going to hurt bad. Do you have something to bite down on?” You asked him. He nodded as Hizashi handed a piece of leather to him. He bit down on the leather and nodded to you. “Now I will pull out the bullet and clean the wound, Shouta, this is going to hurt like hell. Shoto, once I pull out the bullet, I will need you to cauterize the wound quickly as there will be a lot of bleeding. After that I will tie up the wound.” You explained. Shoto nodded and got ready to cauterize the wound. You grabbed the bottle of alcohol and doused the wound. Shouta screaming through the leather and tensing up his body. You hated hurting him but this had to be done so he wouldn’t lose the leg.
At least not tonight. You then used the knife that was brought to you to dig out the bullet. Once the chunk of metal was out of him, Shoto instantly used his flames on the wound, send out another scream from the Captain. You prepped the bandage and told Shoto to stop since the bleeding had also stopped pouring from his leg. You doused his wound with more alcohol before drying it and wrapping the leg with the piece of cloth you were given. You made sure the wrapping was tight before thanking Shoto and sending him out of the cabin as his services were no longer needed. You turned back to Shouta as he was pulling the leather out of his mouth and panting hard from the pain. He looked over to you and reached out for your hand. You let him take it and you bent over to kiss him.
“Thank you for your help, Y/n. I don’t want to ever feel that kind of pain again.” He spoke and kissed you gently. “You’re welcome. I’m glad I could help. We should set sail for that herbologist. Let us hope they know what to do.” You spoke as you stroked his hair. He smiled and pulled you in so he could cuddle you. You had him sit up gently and you sat behind him, having his head lay in your lap. “Can you help me out of my quarters so I may tell my crew that it’s time to set sail?” He asked. You agreed and helped him up and out of his room temporarily so he could give the orders for his crew to set sail and head for some far-off island that you had never heard of. After he gave the orders, you helped him back inside his quarters and into his bed. You stayed close to him as the gentle rocking of the ship on the waves lulled him to sleep.
You watched out the back windows of the ship looking at the hidden cove where The Lone Wolf had been in port slowly grow smaller and smaller, you kept watching well after the island had disappeared out of sight. Hizashi came to check on you soon after. “Y/n. It will be a day or two before we arrive to the herbologist. You should get your rest. You’ll need it.” He told you. You looked at him with tired eyes then looked back at Shouta who was out cold and breathing steadily.
“Alright. Is there a place you’d like for me to sleep?” You asked. “I think the Captain will like having you close and you should keep an eye on his leg just in case it gets swollen with fever.” He spoke with a soft smile. You yawned and laid down next to Shouta, quickly falling asleep, not noticing the first mate laying a blanket over the both of you.
~~~About two days later~~~ You were working about the ship, cleaning bandages of old blood and teaching the crew how to sterilize their equipment and how to make bandages from old sheets and how to clean them. You even taught the crew how to stitch up a wound and cover it properly. You were in the middle of teaching one of the younger members that you had learned that their name was Izuku and he was a friend of Shoto’s when some other members of the crew stood up, facing the Captain’s quarters. You too turned to see Shouta hobbling out on a makeshift crutch that someone had made from a spare piece of wood found in some corner of the ship. “We will be in port soon. Be ready to restock and spend a few days of leave here on the island. I don’t want to hear that any of you get drunk or fool around with one of the working women there, got it? I will be away for the time being so Present Mic will be in charge in my absence, you hear?” He spoke. The crew replied with a hearty “AYE” before heading off to their designated chores about the ship. Shouta walked over and saw what you were doing.
“When you’re done, you need to gather your things and be ready to leave with me when we get in port. You’re coming with me to the herbologist to help with my ‘ailment’.” He spoke in a serious tone. You nodded and finished up what you had been teaching Izuku and Shoto. You entered the Captains quarters and began gathering your things as you had seen the island’s shore grow closer. You felt the ship creak and groan under your feet as the crew prepared her to turn into port and dock at the nearby harbor with the help of the harbor’s crew. You hear the yells and calls of the crew communicating with one another as you grabbed your medical bag, rolls of bandages, and sets of tools that one of the girls down in the galley helped you make from her own power. You had found out that in the few short days that you had been on this ship that everyone in The Lone Wolf’s crew has some kind of supernatural ability. You found this interesting and learned about each power that you could wrap your mind around.
When you had finished collecting your things and fastening the bag, you waiting in the cabin where Shouta came in and smiled at you. “Are you ready, my love?” He asked as he cupped your cheek.
“Yes, Let’s hope that this “herbologist” of yours knows how to save a leg from infection.” You spoke as you kissed him gently. He looked at you confused. “What’s an ‘infection’?” He asked as he followed you out of the cabin.
“Its when bad sickness sets into a wound like the one in your leg.” You spoke as you followed him up to the aft deck where someone who looked to be made from rock was steering the ship. Shouta went to the side of the deck where he could watch over the operations of The Lone Wolf head into port play out.
Once The Lone Wolf had settled and the crew were taking inventory, Shouta led you off the boat with Hizashi right behind you both. You didn’t question this fact as the three of you went through town, going to the outskirts and finding a little hut with an open room attacked to the side where a short woman with a wooden stick through her hair was hobbling around with her cane. Hizashi helped Shouta up the steps and to her door.
“Ooh hello there. It’s been a while since you were last here, Captain Eraserhead. Get yourself settled and lets see what we have to work with here.” The old lady spoke as she went around her infirmary that was well stocked by what you saw. You were impressed by how well her smaller hospital was stocked with the standards of the time that you were in. You entered the room and sat in a chair in the corner as Shouta laid on one of the makeshift cots and put his leg for the medicine woman to see. She came over with some bandages and what looked to be some scissors, and a type of antibiotic ointment and a type of alcohol to clean a wound. She looked to have a bit of trouble handling all the items so you stood up to help her with the bigger bottles. She gave you a smile and set down the other items.
“Thank you, young girl. Who might you be?” She asked. “I’m Y/n. Captain Shouta’s mate and the one that tied up the bullet wound on his leg. Shoto cauterized his wound to help prevent bleeding and I did the rest.” You told her. The woman looked at your handiwork and was impressed. “You did very good for using materials on a ship. But I’m seeing a small bit of infection that has set into the flesh. I will give him an antibiotic and you shall stay here for the time being.” She spoke. “Maybe I can be of assistance. I know my way around an infirmary.” You offered. “That will be nice. As I am older, I cannot move around as easily. Your help will be greatly appreciated.” She spoke. “What is your name I might ask?” You asked her. “You can call me Recovery Girl.” She responded.
“Thank you, Recovery Girl for helping him. Now where go you keep some of your herbs? I can get started on the antibiotic.” You said as you got up and went into the storage area where there were many jars and containers of herbs and spices. “In the pantry. Look for the garlic, turmeric, honey, and onion. It sounds like an awful blend but it will draw out that infection like a mosquito draws out blood.” She explained as she prepared to inspect his wound. You dug around the cabinets until you found all the right herbs and set them on the counter. “How do you want me to prepare it?” You asked. “Cut up the garlic and onions and mix them into the honey along with the turmeric until its like a paste. Then bring it over here and I’ll apply it to the wound.” She instructed. You did as you were told and brought the salve over to her. She had you take the rest of the bandage off his leg and she showed you how to apply the salve to his leg. Shouta winced as the nutrients of the salve began to seep into his flesh and kill off any remaining infection that might have snuck in past the cauterization. Recovery girl brought you more clean bandages to wrap up the wound again when the salve had been applied. You wrapped up his leg gently then kissed him on the head.  You took the soiled bandages and asked where you might be able to clean them. The older lady took you to a gentle river where she would do her laundry and clean any soiled linens she might have from her patients.
You were scrubbing the dried-on blood out of the fabric when Recovery Girl sat down next to you on a rock. “Where did you learn how to heal?” She asked, trying to make conversation. “I mostly taught myself. With there being fights on the island between the Redcoats and the locals or the pirates that come into my tavern, you tend to learn a thing or two.” You spoke as you wrung out the bandage and hung it over the line that the healer had in her yard so it could dry. You then looked into the infirmary and saw that Shouta was sitting up and Hizashi was bringing him a drink of water. “I want to tell you this before I tell the Captain. The salve will take out some of the infection but not all of it. You did a good job by cauterizing the wound but there was something in the bullet that is causing more harm than good to him. His leg will have to be cut off to prevent whatever is causing him harm from spreading further. He looks sicker than what he’s allowing to show. He doesn’t want to scare you, dear.” She spoke. You looked a little shocked.
“Can’t we find out what’s making him sick instead of taking his leg? You were the one that gave him the potion that tames his wolf side. Aren’t werewolves allergic to silver?” You asked. As you looked at your mate and noticed how pale he looked. Paler than he normally did. His dark eyes dart up to meet yours and you looked away. “Yes. Werewolves are allergic to silver. I’ve seen the creatures be shot down by a silver bullet. If our speculations are correct, the bullet he was shot with was made out of silver. Do you still have the bullet, my dear?” Recovery Girl asked. Your hand went into one of your apron pockets and pulled out the bloodied bullet and showed her. “Grab one of the lemons off of the shelf, dear and use it’s juice on the bullet. If the juice turned a shade of dark red, its pure silver. If its brown or green then its only covered in silver.” Recovery Girl instructed as you grabbed a lemon and cut it in half. You then squeezed the juice over the bullet and watched as it bubbled and foamed. Your heart sank as the foam turned a sickly shade of dark red. “Cut his leg off. the bullet is silver.” You spoke. Hizashi heard what you had said and entered the storage and preparation part of the infirmary that you and Recovery Girl were in. “What do you mean ‘cut my leg off?’ Why does my leg have to be cut off?” Shouta asked. “There is no time to explain. Where is a sedative and your surgical tools, Recovery Girl?” You asked as you headed to another part of the pantry. Recovery Girl pointed out where the items were and you gathered them. Hizashi followed you, repeating the Captain’s question. “Dabi used a silver bullet and if we don’t cut his leg off, Shouta will die. I need you to hold him down and administer the sedative to him.” You explained and handed him a cloth and a bottle that had the label ‘chloroform.’ “This will knock him out so we can remove the poisoned part of his leg and bandage it up and let it heal. We can hopefully find him a replacement down in the town.” You explained as you began to boil some water to sterilize the knife and saw that would be used to cut the leg off.
“If I remember right, there is a wood worker in the town that should be able to make a new leg for me to use.” Shouta spoke. “We will figure that out later. For now, you need to be knocked out. Unless you want to feel the pain of the knife and saw cutting through your flesh and bone.” You told him as you sterilized the bone saw. “I think a nap would be a good idea.” He spoke. Hizashi then administered the chloroform and within a matter of minutes, Shouta was out cold. “You might want to take a walk as this will take a while and it will be unsightly.” You advised the first mate. He nodded and left the infirmary, taking a walk through the woods as you made the first incision.
~~~A few hours later~~~
You were stitching up the last of the wound when Shouta began to come out of the anesthesia. You numbed the area and watched as he woke up slowly. It was about this time that Hizashi came back from his walk, having found a wood worker in town that would be willing make a prosthetic for Shouta.
You prepared a glass of water and some bread for Shouta to eat when he was fully out of the drug.  You heard him grumble and try to sit up quickly.
“Sit up slowly. You’re coming out of the anesthesia. I have some bread and water for you if you’re hungry.” You told him. He nodded and looked at you then where his leg was. That’s when it hit him. His eyes grew wide and he ran his hands down his leg and he felt where the stitches were and stared at the place where the rest of his leg was. “It feels like the rest of my leg should be there but it isn’t. Am I crazy?” He spoke.
“No. That’s normal. I’ve read that some of the doctors back in England are calling what you’re feeling “Phantom sensation.” There be some itching or tickling feeling which is normal as well. I advise that you don’t scratch where the stiches are as that can cause them to come undone. I must wrap them up with some bandages but I thought I’d see how you’re doing.” You told him. He nodded and sat up slowly. You handed him the cup of water which he took and sipped at it before setting the cup down and laying back down.
“I’m doing alright. Thank you for asking.” He spoke as you wrapped a clean strip of cloth around his leg.
“There you go. Now if you don’t need anything else. I’ll go clean out some of the used bandages.” You spoke, standing to leave. “Y/n. Stay for a moment, please. I want to talk to you since we haven’t in a while.” He requested. You sat back down next to him and let him hold your hand. “What did you want to talk about?” You asked as you looked back at him, staring into his eyes. “I want to know why you’ve been so distant since I lost my leg. Is it because you don’t want to be my mate anymore?” He asked. You looked surprised and shook your head. “No, its not that. I’ve been processing the past few weeks, that’s all. Its hard to find a place for quiet on the ship so I can think and process all that happened. The action of the Lieutenant… Dabi… whoever he is grabbing hold of me and pointing a musket at you, still has me waking up at night in a cold sweat.” You told him. He kissed your temple and pulled you a little closer.
“He will never touch you again. We can sail on the seas for eternity.” He spoke and hugged you gently. You cuddled into his chest and took in his scent which still smelled like the salty sea and freshly brewed coffee. That is when you broke down sobbing, clinging to his shirt and not wanting to let go. “Y/n, what’s wrong? Why are you crying now?” He asked as he made you look up at him. “All of the stress that I’ve been through, not seeing you for a full month, the lieutenant pinning me in the alleyway before you saved me, him holding me hostage as he held you at gunpoint, having to remove your leg. Its all been too much and I’ve had to keep my emotions to myself as I didn’t want to worry you or Hizashi or Recovery Girl.” You explained. “Don’t worry about that now. I’m still here. Not all of me is here but I think the important parts are still here, my love. I’m not going anywhere for a while. Its my turn to care for you while we are here, okay? Right now I just want for you just let it all out, okay?” He told you. You nodded and cried more, letting your body shake with sobs as tears streamed down your face. Shouta rubbed your back and reassured you that everything would be fine. He even told you that Hizashi had gone into the town to find someone that would make a wooden prosthetic leg for him. It was just a matter of transporting him to the prosthetic maker in the town so he could take his measurements.  This made you relax a bit and stop crying so he could wipe the tears from your eyes. You mentioned that the chef in the ship’s galley could carry him to the prosthetist. He didn’t like the idea at first but he eventually warmed up to the idea. You called Hizashi over to send a message for the chef to come up and help the captain out. The first mate was in the process of having a meal with the healer so things would have to wait until they were done eating.
Once the meal had been eaten, Hizashi ran quickly to The Lone Wolf to inform the chef of the situation and have him come up to the healer’s hut to carry the captain down to the town. Soon, you, the captain, and the first mate were all in the prosthetist’s clinic. You were looking at all the examples of the different kinds of artificial limbs there were. You didn’t know that there would be so many or even if something like this was available to Shouta at this time. You had read about pirates sporting a wooden peg leg in fantasy stories that you read as a child but you knew that Shouta wouldn’t go for the traditional prosthetic that other pirates had. He would want a leg that would resemble one closer to the leg that he lost. You kept looking around the clinic as the doctor got Shouta’s measurements and told him that the making of the leg would be about a week or so and he asked if Shouta’s ship would be able to stay in port for that time. He agreed and would let his crew know that they would be staying in the area for a while longer and that they would be able to have some shore time while they were stuck in port. There was a hospital in the town that The Lone Wolf’s crew would be able to stay at or they would be able to stay on the ship if they wished. With that, the Chef assisted the captain to the nearby hotel where he would be staying with you in one room and his first mate would be going back to the ship to deliver the news and stay on the ship there. The chef was happy to be able to try out the different delicacies of the area and possibly try some of the foods out on the crew to see if they liked them. Once you and the Captain were settled in a room in the hotel, the Chef left to investigate any of the local vendors and the local market for any exotic foods that he’d like to try. You were glad to finally be alone with your mate as you had felt your core waken after you had wrapped up his leg back at the Healer’s hut.
Shouta’s dark eyes looked over to you as you laid yourself out on the bed and groaned in relief.
“Are you alright love?” You heard him ask. “Yes. I’m alright.” You responded. “Your scent says otherwise.” He told you as he propped himself up with one of his elbows. You glanced over at him and he gave you one of his alluring smiles that you knew had made other ladies swoon. You felt your face heat up and you hid your face in your pillow.
“I can tell you’re in heat, my love. I am here to help you if you want me to.” He offered. You relaxed and sat up slowly. “I wouldn’t mind. Its been a month since we shared a bed together and you claimed me as your own. I noticed the other day that the marks had been fading.” You told him. His eyes met yours and he nodded. “Alright. What do you need help with?” He asked.  You looked around the room. “All I know is that my core is aching and I want the pain of the ache to go away.” You responded. He held your hand and pulled you closer to him. “I’ll help you with that stubborn ache of yours. Just lay down and let me repay you for all the care you’ve given me these past few weeks, my love.” He told you and helped guide you to lay back down on the bed.
He kissed your neck gently and bit down where the mark was faded and made it new again. He then cared for you and your heat, sliding into you and thrusting back and forth, in and out, over and over, hitting that one spot that made you see stars until the both of you came and fell limp against each other, catching your breath before beginning the next round of intimate love making.
When the week had passed, Shouta had been alerted as to his prosthetic leg being finished and being called in to have the leg fitted to him and have him learn how to walk with it. The Prosthetist attached the leg to his appendage and helped him stand to his feet. He wobbled for a bit and cursed under his breath as he had to hold onto the wall for a while to adjust to the usage of the leg. The Prosthetist suggested that he use a type of cane so he could walk on the decks of the ship with ease and showed him a few samples of canes that he sold within his shop. The captain picked one out and paid for the leg and the cane, thanking the man and walking out of the shop on his own for the first time in a while. He walked to the ship and boarded the vessel, now addressing his crew as they all had surrounded him when he came aboard. They welcomed him back and asked him questions about the leg and how it felt. He reassured him that he was still fit to be their captain even though he had to have assistance from a cane. He stood proud in front of his crew, with you next to him, beginning to give out orders to get the ship on way to the next place and to the next adventure.
The End.

𝜗𝜚 ji haerim (지해림) 𝜗𝜚 thirty one 𝜗𝜚 bisexual, she/her 𝜗𝜚 marketing specialist 𝜗𝜚 after trying out the dating scene and less than a handful of serious relationships, haerim decided she was simply going to indulge in her desires instead, without going for anything deeper. she doesn't think she's long, committed relationship material… or at least, she hasn't found someone that can change her mind.
cw: alcohol/drug mentions.
birthday: december 17th, 1992. age: 31. orientation: bisexual. zodiac: sagittarius, monkey mbti: estp. hometown: seoul, south korea languages: korean (native), english (fluent)
virtues and vices dependable; charming; confident; smart; creative; assertive; organized; disciplined; firm; trustworthy; loyal; straightforward; leader; good planer; thoughtful; honest. low tolerance for things not going her way, bossy; severe; detached, jaded; cocky; spiteful; smoker.
𝜗𝜚 background
putting things simply: haerim's not used to being told no. her family's wealthy– not so much that she was disconnected from reality, but enough that she never struggled and had access to good education. product of an untimely mishap when her mother was nineteen, her family consists of her single mother and a younger sister, who haerim had to look out for a lot while their mother was too busy working. between equally detached grandparents and nannies who were just doing their job, haerim never fully learned to lean on others emotionally, but she was a great support for her younger sister, making sure to provide what she unfortunately couldn't have. her relationship with her mother isn't exactly bad now, as a grown adult she gets along with her better than ever. fully out of the closet, haerim managed to live unapologetically when it comes to her sexuality. her mother wasn't exactly thrilled at first but didn't make a fuss either, considering she's quite open about her own sex life. just like her mother, haerim went straight into the corporate life, managing to climb fast enough both through her genuine skills– and some contacts in the right places. she's not exactly proud of that, but she tells herself she still deserves it: and she is damn good at her job. haerim got to start exploring from her teen years. while seoul isn't exactly progressive, it's surprisingly easy to get away with making out with girls during high school and college without anyone making such a big fuss about it. it helped that none of her relationships there got too serious, so keeping things under wraps was mostly easy. she also saw some men during this time, but she quickly figured out that while she can like some guys, she does not like masculinity in her partners. so it's easier to stick to women or androgynous identities. it was during her early to mid twenties that haerim had some longer, more serious relationships, but after none of them really seemed to go well, feeling like they would drag her life plans in some way or another, she decided she was simply going to indulge in her desires, without going for anything more serious. she doesn't think she's long, committed relationship material... or at least, she hasn't found someone that can change her mind. she's had her fair share of wild nights– drinks fairly often, too. haerim has also tried different recreational drugs, but the only one she comes back to every few months is lsd– a little scared of korea's severe laws when it comes to drugs to risk doing much more than that. joining soulmates was an easy decision. a friend sent her a link with information about the show and she immediately designed to sign up. she likes attention and she doesn't mind the spotlight. she also isn't beneath giving into a little bit of drama here and there... this show was exactly what haerim needed to spice her life up even further.
𝜗𝜚 relationships & sexuality
haerim is the type to take the initiative, from flirting to picking the plans– and in bed. she's dominant, mostly, but she doesn't mind letting her partner have some fun. she's weaker to brats than well behaved subs, but she likes both. she's open to relinquishing control... but only with a lot of trust. she's upfront about her intentions, so she doesn't feel too guilty to put up her distance if a fling or hookup ends up getting a little too attached to her. however, despite being direct and clear, her charming behavior and intensity might rightfully give someone mixed signals. she does not intend to hurt, but intent≠impact, and she's aware of this.
𝜗𝜚 wanted connection/plots  unless otherwise specified, all connections could flourish into anything, or nothing at all.
─ the regular(s). a one night stand that turned into countless nights. no strings attached, they both seem to understand there's nothing more than sex to it. finding each other in seoulmates could either be fantastic or terrible news. the relationship could stay like that, could delve into something else: be it some drama, or maybe more. depends.
─ hookups. well. she did say she was here for one reason...
─ i can changer her. someone naive enough to think they can change haerim's ways and make her settle down. maybe they convince her to have dates and end up in some sort of situationship. while the sentiment is unhealthy in its core, whether it works or not... time will tell.
─ head over heels. haerim just can't stop pampering this person. it's not unusual for her to shower others with gifts/affection to seduce them, but the infatuation seems to go a little deeper here. whether it's real or some fixation, haerim chases while continuing to claim she doesn't want anything serious: truth is, she has no clue what she wants, it's confusing.
─ pupil. someone who needs a boost of confidence or help/guidance. while haerim can be a little volatile romantically, she's a reliable friend and a good older sister. she would gladly take under her wing anyone who needs genuine help navigating different situations: from recently coming out and finding a place in the community, to career advice. platonic.
─ told you so. a close friend that calls haerim out in her bullshit. they are not intimidated by her in the slightest so they can get through to her when she's being unreasonable. in return, haerim is a really good friend to them as well. they've got each other's back, but it's good for haerim to have someone who knows how to shut her up and help her see when she's doing something wrong (like accidentally breaking another person's heart). platonic. ─ kiss and tell. another person with a similar outlook in life, relationship wise, so they can talk about their experiences and conquests, gush about potential new partners or just gossip with like long time friends (or maybe they are long time friends?) platonic.
ooc: always open to plot and brainstorm for any other sort of connections/plots.

Harvest Day/Day of Grapes and Grains
The Day of Grapes and Grains, also known as the Harvest Festival, celebrates the beginning of the harvest season in Sol Fertilis.
Farmers prepare their best produce for the festival in the morning. They arrange baskets and crates filled with freshly harvested fruits, vegetables, and grains, which are often displayed at local markets or designated areas in the town square. In both Neo-Pagan and Catholic counties, Beta Neutral farmers play a role in the religious or spiritual aspects of the day. They bring offerings from their harvest, such as wheat sheaves, fruits, and vegetables, to place on altars or in front of churches. On this day, alewives play a significant role in the celebrations by giving away wine to all ranks in churches.
Festival shows include theatrical performances by local theater groups that celebrate the harvest and local legends, as well as concerts featuring traditional and contemporary music. Barbecues and picnics are common, with families enjoying grilled meats, fresh salads, and homemade desserts. Larger community picnics are organized in parks, with communal tables and shared dishes. Traditional folk dances, circle dances, and line dances are performed, inviting everyone to join in. Evening dance parties with live music take place in public squares and parks, extending the celebrations into the night.
Religious and spiritual observances play a significant role in the Harvest Festival. Churches hold special services to bless the harvest and pray for a bountiful season, with attendees bringing offerings of grains, fruits, and vegetables to place on the altar.
In Neo-Pagan communities, rituals involving the symbolic sacrifice of crops or animals are performed to honor Ceres Gaia and ensure a successful harvest. Incense is burned, and prayers are recited to give thanks for the abundance and seek protection for the coming months. The rituals involving the symbolic sacrifice of crops or animals are performed to honor the gods and ensure a successful harvest. Attendees bring offerings of grains, fruits, and vegetables to place on the altar.
Crafts and arts are an integral part of the festival. Participants engage in harvest crafts like making crowns and garlands from wheat, flowers, and grapevines to wear during the festivities. Families and communities build scarecrows to protect their crops, often holding contests for the most creative scarecrow. Art exhibitions featuring local artists' works that depict harvest themes are held in galleries and public spaces, while craft fairs offer handmade goods such as pottery, textiles, and jewelry inspired by the harvest season.
Couples engage in handfasting ceremonies, a symbolic act of unity and commitment, performed in parks or gardens. All ranks perform this but the middle ranks, which are Beta Pluses and Delta Minuses, are often seen doing this more.
Special foods and drinks are enjoyed throughout the Harvest Festival. Traditional meals include roast meats such as lamb, pork, and chicken, served with seasonal vegetables. Grain-based dishes like various bread, pasta, and grain salads are prepared using freshly harvested ingredients. Desserts such as fruit pies made from apples, berries, and other seasonal fruits, along with honey cakes and sweet breads flavored with spices and dried fruits, are popular. Drinks include local wines and beers brewed from the harvest, and freshly pressed grape, apple, and pear juices are served, particularly to children.
Towards the end of the meal, there are final toasts. In Neo-Pagan counties, the toasts may involve traditional toasts to the gods and goddesses of harvest and fertility, such as Ceres Gaia, Venus Bellona, and Mars Sol. In Catholic counties, toasts might be directed toward the saints, or God, thanking them for the blessings of the harvest. Alewives and other key figures often lead these toasts, sharing words of gratitude and hope for the future.
Following the feast, a large bonfire is lit in a central location. This fire symbolizes the burning away of the old season's remnants and the welcoming of a new cycle. Around the bonfire, people gather to sing traditional songs, dance, and share stories. The music often includes a mix of folk tunes and contemporary favorites, played on traditional instruments like lutes, flutes, and drums, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.
A priest may give a final blessing or prayer, asking for continued prosperity and protection over the community and its land. In Neo-Pagan traditions, this may involve a ritual offering to the gods, while in Catholic areas, it could include a collective prayer or hymn.

Labor shortage leads to empty shelves at some retail stores in Russia
X5-group-owned grocery stores in Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Kovrov, and the Kostroma and Ivanovo regions have started suffering from shortages of water, bread, cereals, flour, and spices. The news outlets Mash and Kommersant report that the empty shelves are due partly to labor shortages caused by a recent spike in the persecution and deportation of Central Asian migrant workers. A source in Yaroslavl’s Agriculture and Consumer Market Ministry told Kommersant newspaper that the “staffing problem” has been solved already, but the stores’ supply chain won’t return to normal for another three weeks.
In April 2024, a Moscow arbitration court suspended X5's shareholder rights in its Russian subsidiary after the latter was designated as a protected “economically significant organization.” The court transferred X5’s shares in its subsidiary to the subsidiary itself in a redomiciliation designed to force the owners of Russia’s biggest retailer into Russia’s own legal jurisdiction.
