When Celene said, "I like to feel his eyes on me when I look away" in Before Sunrise, I think of Tessa looking at Scott and Scott looking at Tessa.

I can't even imagine what it feels like to look at that person whom you bared your soul for 22 years; that person who knows a whole different part of you which nobody else would, that little girl/boy you once knew, that platonic soul mate, married and spending a whole different life from you.

Maybe it feels wonderful and maybe it's a little sad too because all those moments are now stories. They would never get to experience what they had for 22 years ever again. It's like losing a little part in you and leaving it with each other.

Even though it's a little sad, that's the beauty of it. If they ever fall in love and get married, they wouldn't be able to get nostalgic like the way they do now. And they'll never be able to tell their children and more importantly tell themselves that, they experienced the most beautiful platonic love story on ice.

What they had was indeed a love story. A love story not many people get to experience in a lifetime.

January 27th 2025: Sunday Night Sex Show

Sue Johanson did two things: She made people incredibly uncomfortable, who were sexually repressed...and she made sex education readily available to a whole country, in the most non-judgmental way possible.

Are you unsure about some aspect of your sexuality, or curious about something that makes you tingle? Got cable? Cool. Sue's got your back.

An entire generation of people learned about things that alleged "Moral Guardians" tried to shield them from, all thanks to this program. Sue explained things frankly, and without ridiculing them, in order to enforce the idea that this was all normal stuff, it's just made taboo by a puritanical society. Sue didn't care. She'd put the biggest strap-on right down on the desk in front of her, and explain it's functions to you like it was a power drill.

Sue made sex normal, and the pursuit of exploring your sexuality something to not be ashamed of. We salute people like Sue, for her campaign of destigmatization of a normal biological function.

AVRIL LAVIGNE APPOINTED TO ORDER OF CANADA: Avril Lavigne on June 28 was appointed to the Order of Canada for both her musical success - more than 50 million records sold - and her charitable efforts, Stereogum magazine reports.

“Generous with her time, she supports individuals with serious illnesses, disabilities and Lyme disease through the Avril Lavigne Foundation,” Canadian Governor General Mary Simon said. “A global ambassador for Special Olympics, she promotes inclusion and helps end the stigma around intellectual disabilities.”

AOIFE, BONNY AND THE NSO: Aoife O’Donovan and Bonny Light Horseman will co-headline an Oct. 22 concert with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C.

SICK OF IT ALL FRONTMAN LOU KOLLER ANNOUNCES CANCER DIAGNOSIS: Sick of it All frontman Lou Koller has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, leading the band to cancel its summer tour of Europe.

“I’ll have to be getting treatment all summer,” Koller said in a statement. “And of course, full support of the band. As soon as they heard it, they were like, ‘Forget the tour, just get healthy.’”

MICK FLEETWOOD SOLO ALBUM IN THE WORKS: Mick Fleetwood is working on a solo album, Mojo magazine reports.

There’s no title or release date. But there is this:

“And believe it or not, I’m actually starting to sing so God help you,” Fleetwood said.
