hey guys I am writing a new story, It is a crossover with Regulus and Chainsaw Man, It's about Regulus having his body combined with the Lust Devil (my OC) and they have to defeat Chainsaw Man and the Lust Devil has the power to turn people into weapons with Sexual Magic when they Have Sex With Someone so it is also a sexy story, howerver, I am trying to write more Plot Based so it isn't all sex scenes and I tried harder to write with better spelling and stuff like not type so fast so I spell things better so I think it is a little bit better

Is there any significance to the light circle ring thingies on magic? I have observed them in other characters but I noticed they're more associated with Wanda than any other. I couldn't think of anything else to ask about. 😋

Even if Billy K's one true biological mother is Becca, or if he looked like Jim Cheung and Alan Heinberg imagined him, there's nothing stopping him or Tommy from reconnecting with that part of their soul/essence. I don't think Marya would think of them as anything other than her grandchildren and would help them learn about their culture. Pietro too!

I don't think there's a special significance. The visualization of Wanda's powers has changed a lot over the years-- if you look at older stuff from the 70s and 80s, her powers aren't even consistently red/pink. Back when there was more of a clear distinction between her hex power and her magical abilities, the text would usually describe her firing off "hex bolts" or "hex spheres." Some artists would take that as a cue to draw her powers as circles or orbs, and it just caught on. I like that it can give the impression that she's projecting/manipulating energy fields.

It fell out of fashion in the late 90s, when Alan Davis and George Perez, may he rest, started drawing chaos magic as a frothy, Kirby-dot smoke effect. This was also when Wanda's hex power was retconned to be an extension of her chaos magic, which was further flattened into all-around "reality warping" in the mid-2000s.

Fortunately, Wanda has regained a lot her nuance and become more centered in magic and witchcraft. Contemporary artists primarily use the ring/orb effect to denote chaos magic, specifically. I imagine that it's supposed to convey ripples or distortions in reality.

Digital coloring really changed the way that "energy" based powers look in comic books. Characters like Wanda have tended to be inconsistent with their special effects for most of the 2000s and earlier 2010s. Recently, howerver, Dauterman and Werneck have really leaned into a ripple/concentric circle effect for Wanda and Billy both in Trial of Magneto and the 2022 Hellfire Gala. This seems to have re-codified the effect as their signature, and a lot of other artists are now following suit. I'm sure that now, with Dauterman doing cover art and costume design on the upcoming Scarlet Witch solo, we will continue to see this effect more and consistently in the coming years.

So, again because I can't share anything but the pure facts about what happened in my last session and no speculation because someone who is in the game has found this tumblr. The story is below the cut

So, some pretense. Cadaver is a Teifling who has been nothing but a problem child this whole game. His most recent stunt was sending practically the same letter to all the chaos gods in this universe asking for help speaking for the World Serpent. Universally this was a bad idea that has lead each of these gods to go about cursing him. Now each of these curses are more fun then an actual detriment. This is on top of the three curses this man already had from becoming a disciple of the world serpent. That story is also wild and might also be here somewhere but if anyone does want to ask I will tell it.

The second bit of information that makes this story the way it is. I had a PC that was itching to bring in something new because his character was supper LG and has not been doing well with the party but a DMPC that I have in there so they have a Rogue and some Healing is his love interest.

So our players are: Cadaver a Tiefling problem child Lazerus a Human Celestial Warlock Chosen of Lathander Cirelc Laz's love interest and Aasimar with his linage with Lathander but actually worships Tymora (yes he is also a character I'm writing for here but my characters are not as nearly fucked up in my D&D games) Maraliss Yaun-Ti Artificer LE but the most reasonable person in the group somehow Raz Halfling Pyromancer a one of a kind master of fire kind of Avatar style thing in my game Kushala Dragonborn fighterman who is not ready and is the straight man to Cadaver's act

They are investigating an old temple to the Pyromancer to try and find out more info about the pyromancer and the world serpent. This is deep in the Empire of the Moon a Roman sytle empire that the party has already cause war crimes against. They know the temple was shut down by a Senator and went in looking for information. In the end they find it crawling with undead.

After a couple of fights they come across Senator Vivanus Erxidor Dawngleem the Augustus Fourth Archemagium, Decius of Magi, Quaestor of Proditor, Legati Praetor of the Imperator, Prior Pontifex. They did not let him get out most of his name but did try to talk to him. (My group tends to try and solve their problems with RP because that is the kind of game I run). I really have to remention that these are war criminals to the Empire of the Moon. Vivanus howerver is there destroying something on the main tomb that is in the room that he's in with acid.

Relations break down and Vivanus gets the first word which also means the first spell. Now Vivanus is not a fight to sneeze at. He is an Archmage, with the abilities of an abjurtation wizard. Along with that he also has two ghouls under his command. The party is level 6 and yes this is an increadably hard encounter. 5e characters have the abiltiy to punch way above their belt and the fight didn't go that badly tbh.

So, fight highlights. Wizard gets to go first and Slows the party. Then he gets off early in the initiative and casts Vitriolic Sphere. Those two spells fuck the party pretty hard with the Fighter going down. Healers do their jobs and Kushala is back up and there is some better health going around the party. Raz gets messed up by a critical hit from one of the Ghouls that end up taking her eye (I use a critical hit and miss table). Then Cadaver manages to misty step behind Vivanus and grapple him. This is a smart move actually. Allows a couple of free hits including Cirelc also getting an eye crit on Vivanus. Wizard is pissed at this point in time but happens to know some things about the party. So on his turn he misty steps and then casts Disintegrate on Laz. Laz fails and well that's a dead PC. Vivanus proceeds to start loosing the fight pretty hard.  Well a contignency with a resilient sphere is enough to let this wizard teleport away. (This is a really good tactic for a recurring villain actually).

Well Laz is dead now and the party has now blinded a high ranking wizard of the Empire of the room. They find out the thing he was destroying was a prophacy. The first time it's been introduced. Now everyone is mad but I don't think anyone has really concidered the consequences of their actions.

Now that I’ve finished the new season I don’t even know how to feel about Lotor. Like he obviously went kinda crazy from the quintessence (if that’s how you spell it) but I still need to learn more about his previous actions before I can decide how to feel about Lotor. HOWERVER, I DO know that Coran is my absolute favourite character in this series and I doubt anything will ever change that.

So, Broken Reality is really good

The ending really got me in a place that is hard to describe, like not a sad feeling, maybe more like a comforting feeling? I dunno but I haven’t had many games get me in this way so that’s something big. It uses the vaporwave aesthetic to keep the gameplay and setting interesting, while using it to tell an interesting story. Where Griptape Backbone is about vaporwave itself and the emotional feel of it, Broken Reality is about the ideas and statements surrounding vaporwave. It’s more nostalgic than it is depressing, while at the same time bringing up the consumerism and social media aspects of the movement.

the game tells you almost nothing about the story, and instead shows it or gives some weird imagery for you to interpret on your own. And, honestly, that’s really refreshing? Like, that is one of the reasons I like FRACT OSC and Antichamber so much, they don’t go out of their way to tell a deep or complex story. And like, the story is there, you just have to dig a little and decode the imagery to get to it. Like, you get movies every now and again, like Total Recall or Inception, that leave big questions unanswered, and you almost never get that with games. I really feel like games can provide a more interesting way to do that also, like you can mess with players more using the mechanics to suggest things to the player. I’ll discuss the dealio under the read-more link to avoid spoilers.

SO, what I love about the ending is how vague it is. Like, you litterally travel through the server’s own version of Hell and wind up in what appears to be reality. Howerver, the dialogue boxes and some of the sound effects are the same as they were in the server, suggesting you aren’t in reality, rather some weird recreation of it buried deep within the server. The fact that the reality of the ending being in question for a game titled Broken Reality is just really cool and clever. 

--Edit: I failed to mention this before but the reason I am spelling her name a onii-chan instead of onee-chan is that I believe that onii-chan is the creator herself, and she made and AI to help her maintain the server once you left, and when she made it she modeled it after both herself and one of her favorite fiction characters. so when I say onii-chan, I mean the person and not the AI.--

I suppose I will give my best take one the ending though, since I’m not sure how many people will talk about it, so here goes. It seems to me that onii-chan and you are possibly ex-lovers or at least used to be friends, and before you are like “ooh boy you can’t just assume the character helping you out and who is called onii-chan is your lover” just hear me out for a sec. So I believe you and her created the server originally, and after a bit you two had a falling out (hence the story robodoggo tells you about). So now after being gone for a while you decide to check in and see how things are going with her and the server (doggo said that one of the creators hasn’t been seen in a while, so maybe that was you and now you are back). You basically spend the game trying to find her, just to figure out that she is either stuck or just sitting deep within the server and you work your way to get to her. when you find her she is in a recreation of what is probably her apartment (or you actually go to her apartment somehow?). However, when you find her she is sitting at a desk and refuses to talk to you (she constantly looks away from you regardless of what you do). (I think you were lovers because her looking away from you suggests she knows you, and there is a picture on one of her walls of 2 people holding hands on a beach and the man’s head is burned out of it. plus the end song would fit  this also.) You go to try and repair the server from it’s corruptions (from her absence?) and you end up having to shut the server down. The weird part that I don’t fully get is that when you shut it down onii-chan stands up and looks at you, but she looks a lot different, like maybe she turned into what she looks like outside of the server. and a few seconds after the shut-down you get a super trippy scene where its some kind of fancy static, and the credits roll. 

So, I know there isn’t a whole lot supporting it, but it makes sense. however, the only story I know for sure is that you wind up shutting down the server when you try to fix it. However, you may actually be going into the apartment in reality since in the title screen, the option to leave the game is a picture of the doorway to her apartment. So maybe that is suggesting you are going into the server to fix it, but giving up and just going to her computer physically. But, I have no idea for certain.

overall, a really good game and I loved almost every second of it.
