I need to share the adorable piglet that lives at the museum I work at and desperately wanted its snoot booped by me. It also wanted to eat my finger, but that’s ok. It is adorable enough to get away with everything.

After it’s curiosity about my fingers was satisfied, it went to bother it’s siblings.

Shown here are two coastal vessels that probably belonged to Hallig and were used for transporting goods and people.

august 26, 2023 - freilichtmuseum / open air museum in kommern, germany. the windows. i love them.

i mean i realize the houses are really dark and the windows are small and don‘t let in much light but the light looks so pretty through them. my house is rather dark with small windows but the light hits a bit different. i definitely hope to someday live in a house with beautiful huge windows. but in these old and cold houses the light that flows in gives a really beautiful atmosphere.

i also thought the little heart cutout in the toilet door was so cute haha

Still on vacation. Visited a magnificent museum today with rebuilt pile dwellings. Since we got there early I managed to take several pictures with hardly any other people 😅

Dział budownictwa wiejskiego obejmuje 57 obiektów z pogranicza Podlasia, umieszczonych w trzech sektorach skansenu. Obiekty te to m.in. 9 chat, dwór ziemiański, 2 maneże (obudowa kieratów), 2 spichlerze dworskie (lamusy), kuźnia, bróg na siano, 4 stodoły, 3 obory, 2 wiatraki typu koźlak, zakład rymarski, gajówka oraz spichlerze chłopskie. W 2010 r. skansen uzupełniły obiekty sakralne: kościół i dzwonnica z miejscowości Boguty Pianki oraz wikarówka z Kuleszy Kościelnych.

The department of rural construction includes 57 objects from the border of Podlasie, located in three sectors of the open-air museum. These objects include 9 cottages, a manor house, 2 maneges (housing for treadmills), 2 manor granaries (storage rooms), a smithy, a hay-horse, 4 barns, 3 cowsheds, 2 post windmills, a saddler's shop, a gamekeeper's lodge and peasant granaries. In 2010, the open-air museum was supplemented with sacral buildings: the church and bell tower from Boguty Pianki and the vicar's house from Kuleszy Kościelne.

A selection of photos and video clips from my recent visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town for their Heavy Horse Weekend, which saw a selection of wagons pulled by magnificent shire horses traversing the site, in addition to a horse bus giving rides to visitors, a wagon tyring demonstration, and opportunities to pet and guid the shire horses.

Skansen, the town quarter. A smal old town that is an example how it could look. There are crafting shops, parks aso. Last pictures from Skansen but I am posting some pictures from inside Skansen akvariet (its a separate fee to get in because its a separate company). A great day on Skansen with lots of fun.
