Getting into the Ontario Draw: A Comprehensive Guide to Express Entry and the Best Immigration Consultants in India
Tumblr media
If you're dreaming of immigrating to Canada and exploring the abundant opportunities it offers, then you've come to the right place. In this article, we will provide you with the latest update on the Ontario draw, along with valuable insights on the Express Entry system and the best immigration consultants in India who can assist you in making your Canadian dream a reality.
Understanding Express Entry
Express Entry is a points-based immigration system introduced by the Canadian government to manage applications for permanent residency. It comprises three primary economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates interested in these programs must create an online profile, which is evaluated based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.
Ontario Draw - The Latest Update
Ontario is one of Canada's most populous provinces and a popular destination for immigrants. The province regularly conducts draws through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to select candidates from the Express Entry pool who meet the province's specific labor market needs. The selected candidates receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario and can apply for a provincial nomination. Securing a provincial nomination provides applicants with additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, significantly enhancing their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
Benefits of Ontario Nomination
Obtaining a nomination from Ontario carries numerous benefits for Express Entry candidates. First and foremost, it provides an additional 600 CRS points, virtually guaranteeing an ITA in subsequent federal Express Entry draws. Moreover, candidates with a provincial nomination receive priority processing, expediting their journey to becoming Canadian permanent residents. Additionally, Ontario's robust economy, diverse job market, and excellent quality of life make it an attractive province for immigrants.
Choosing the Right Immigration Consultant
Navigating the complexities of the immigration process can be overwhelming, which is why partnering with a reliable immigration consultant is crucial. In India, numerous immigration consultants specialize in assisting individuals with their Canadian immigration journey. When selecting the best immigration consultant, it is essential to consider factors such as their expertise, success rate, client testimonials, and accreditation by regulatory bodies like the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
Factors to Consider
When assessing immigration consultants, consider their experience and knowledge in handling Express Entry applications and Ontario nominations. Look for consultants who have a deep understanding of Canadian immigration policies, regulations, and the latest updates on Ontario draws. It is vital to choose consultants who provide personalized guidance, communicate effectively, and ensure transparency throughout the process. Additionally, reputable consultants should offer comprehensive services, including eligibility assessment, document preparation, application submission, and post-landing support.
Conclusion
In conclusion, staying informed about the latest Ontario draw updates and choosing the right immigration consultant are crucial steps in achieving your Canadian immigration goals. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program presents an excellent opportunity to enhance your Express Entry profile and secure a provincial nomination.
By partnering with a reputable immigration consultant, you can navigate the complexities of the process with confidence, increasing your chances of a successful immigration journey. So, take the first step, explore your options, and let the best immigration consultants in India guide you toward a brighter future in Canada.

canada is burning
hey friends. wanted to draw attention to the unprecedented wildfire season us canucks are currently having (and especially how these have been impacting indigenous communities).
3.3 million hectares of wildland have currently burned across the country. this is 10 times the average amount of fires that we experience per year. there’s air pollution advisories all over, with conditions ranging from persistent smokey hazes to orange skies and a red sun and general hellish atmosphere. communities are burning and people are being evacuated. i’m going to go over which provinces are the most affected along with some links to resources.
*updated 11/07/2023. please link me to any updated resources or personal fundraisers and i’ll edit them in.
QUEBEC:
Tumblr media
currently headlining because they have 160 (mostly out of control) fires and the smoke is hanging over southern ontario, where most of canada’s population lives.
the Algonquins of barriere lake have been displaced. the community has a population of 800, with a number of people living in cabins along traditional traplines. the Maniwaki Native Friendship Centre has been taking in evacuees, as well as providing meals and support. i believe they’ve closed donations for now, but keep an eye on their socials in case anything changes.
edit: mutual aid request for the Algonquins of barrier lake can be found here. physical donations can be dropped off at ramada plaza, gatineau, quebec.
edit: Odawa Native Friendship Centre is taking donations to assist evacuees.
MARITIMES- NOVA SCOTIA & NEW BRUNSWICK:
Tumblr media
following heavy rainfall, people are beginning to return to their homes in NS. due to the location of the fires, ruptured fuel and chemical tanks may have contaminated the groundwater. if you live in NS, free well-water testing kits are beginning to be circulated. samples can be dropped off at the following locations.
the canadian red cross is taking donations to provide humanitarian aid to those displaced in NB and NS, including shelter.
edit: fundraiser for a lost home in nova scotia, having raised almost 2000 of the $8000 goal.
ALBERTA:
Tumblr media
set a record in may for the most hectares burned in a year, sitting pretty at over 1.3 million. the previous fire season was less than 500.
the east prairie Métis have been especially affected, losing 29 homes in a community of only 300 people. while this was in early may, and they’re starting to recover, their official gofundme is here. they’re about halfway to raising $50,000, with the aim to prioritize the 14 families who lost actively lived-in homes. the high prairie friendship centre is also taking physical donations if you live in the area. edit: been made aware that there is a fantastic linktree to individual fundraisers regarding the loss of homes.
edit: fox lake was also forced to evacuate back in early may. Little Red River Cree Nation had to escape across peace river on a barge. they have a fundraiser with 30 of $50,000 raised to purchase baby supplies and household items for the affected.
the canadian red cross is taking donations for alberta as well.
NORTHWEST TERRITORIES:
Tumblr media
K’atl’odeeche First Nation and their neighbouring community hay river were displaced. as of late may, the K’atl’odeeche chief, Martel, is still trying to set up a 100 person encampment for those who were impacted by the fires. while hay river has been allowed to return, there is no timeline yet for KFN. chief Martel says that people from hay river have been ignoring the barricades set up at the reserve and she is concerned for the safety of her community. please be aware that chief Martel has asked photos of the damage not to be shared on social media, as members of her community have not yet been allowed back on the reserve to see it firsthand. sacred sites and traditional traplines have been destroyed. please be respectful.
i couldn’t find many fundraisers for the NWT, unfortunately. it appears that united way is taking monetary donations, yellowknife evacuation centre is taking giftcards, and the yellowknife salvation army is accepting physical donations.
SASKATCHEWAN:
Tumblr media
in early may there were wildfires in northern sask that displaced the Clearwater Dene Nation. i wasn’t able to find any updates or fundraisers on the situation, but their live map indicates there are still 4 uncontained fires. you can imagine this is not good on a huge swath of flat, hot, dry land full of flammable grass.
*NEW* ONTARIO
i’ve been made aware of a fundraiser for the Anishinaabe of Grassy Narrows. last year, their one and only fire escape route was washed out by flooding. as canada experiences its worst fire season in years, it’s absolutely crucial that this road be repaired as soon as possible. they’ve currently raised about 16k of their 40k goal.
since the community banned industrial extraction (logging/mining) the ontario government has stopped maintaining the roads in the area. Grassy Narrows deserves justice and support during these hard times.

Ontario Closes Entrepreneur Stream, British Columbia Nominates More Candidates: November Immigration Updates
Tumblr media
Table of Contents
Ontario Closes Entrepreneur Stream
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Updates
How an Immigration Consultant Can Help
Conclusion
Ontario Closes Entrepreneur Stream
On November 4, 2023, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) officially closed its Entrepreneur Stream, which had previously been paused since December 2023. The provincial government has begun winding down this stream and is in the process of implementing amendments to close it permanently. If you had already applied under this stream, your application will still be processed according to updated regulations. Candidates who had made commitments to establish businesses in Ontario may still be eligible for a provincial nomination for permanent residency.
For those interested in Ontario’s other immigration options, it’s important to stay informed and seek advice from a Canadian immigration consultant to explore alternative pathways.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Updates
British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) has been active in nominating candidates for immigration. On November 5 and 6, the province held two draws for entrepreneurs and skilled workers. The November 5 draws focused on the Entrepreneur Base and Regional Streams, issuing at least 11 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for candidates with a minimum cut-off score of 115 for the Base Stream and 130 for the Regional Stream.
The following day, November 6, saw the BCPNP hold a selection draw for Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, targeting professions in high-demand sectors such as childcare, construction, healthcare, and tech. For example, in the tech sector, candidates needed a score of 128 to receive an ITA.
British Columbia continues to be an attractive destination for immigrants with its growing economy and various opportunities in diverse industries.

You could have already posted it and I completely missed it, but did you finish your quilt?! The last update I remember was the hand quilting? For someone who never quilted before and just had the belief in themselves, you did amazing!
I haven’t, actually! I spent the first couple of weeks of July traveling/with buddies and have been working 6 day weeks since so I just haven’t had the energy to pick it back up 😔 this week was the first time where I’ve felt like sewing again but it’s been so fucking hot I can’t imagine having a warm blanket in my lap for extended periods of time (28 degrees indoors really isn’t it lmao)
here’s the most recent (decent) photo on my phone:
Tumblr media
the BC (top left) sunset & ocean are done, I’ve made a path through the forest and stitched my three BC besties in there. the Arctic panel (cut off on the right) is done for now
for the Prairies (bottom) I used the cross stitch hoop to draw guidelines for a crop circle and have started on the fields but there’s not much progress made there yet… still no clue what I’m doing for the Maritimes & I have a plan for Ontario but it might be too ambitious
I reallyreally want to get back to it soon!!!! at some point next week it’s supposed to cool down a little, so hopefully then! (or I’ll just sweat)
OH RIGHT ALSO I don’t think I ever talked about this here?? but I made the BC panel twice because the dimensions of the first one were off and I actually turned the original into a pillowcase!!! it was my first experience with a zipper and I’m really happy with how it turned out (I followed suzyquilt’s quilted zipper pillow tutorial)!!!!

Please note that all listed costs are subject to change based on complexity.
Inquiries can be made through DM’s or email at [email protected].
More information about commissions I'll take below the cut under the ID!

Updated Match Card for "Forbidden Door" + Big Changes to Match Card for NOAH's July 9th Event
After the events of "AEW Rampage" last night, at least one more match has been added to the "Forbidden Door 2023" taking place tomorrow (June 25th) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Tumblr media
The addition of Adam Cole vs. Tom Lawlor now brings the total match number for "Forbidden Door 2023" to 10 with at least 1 to 2 more expected to be announced after "AEW Collision" . Again, the match order will be determined either by the entrance theme of the wrestler's music in each match or an pre-match VTR.
And after the events from Kenoh's 15th anniversary event, big changes have been made to Pro Wrestling NOAH's July 9th event including the main event. Down below is the original match card:
Tumblr media
Now, here is the revised match card with a change in the match order.
Tumblr media
Now, we were expecting changes but in the way we see above, not the way we thought the changes would be. As seen this morning on YouTube and social media, Kenoh made the shocking announcement that Kongo will officially disband at night's end (June 24, 2023) and thus due to them disbanding, match card as well as the order of the final three matches in the event have been changed.
The original semi-main event is now the sixth match on the main card. The original main event is now the semi-main event. The show will now be main evented by Kaito Kiyomiya teaming up with Kenoh to face Manabu Soya and Daiki Inaba. This is not a typo as Kaito Kiyomiya will be teaming up with Kenoh for the first time since October 2021 where they won a tag match against Kasushi Sakuraba and Keiji Muto. This match will be Kaito Kiyomiya's last match for Pro Wrestling NOAH as he'll be heading to NJPW to compete in their G1 Climax Tournament starting on July 15th.
Also changed on the show is the third match on the card what was Hajime Ohara and Shuji Kondo vs. Seiki Yoshioka and Alejandro has been changed to Hajime Ohara and Alejandro vs. Shuji Kondo and Seiki Yoshioka. Again, all these changes are due to Kongo disbanding at Kenoh's 15th anniversary event earlier today.
With Kaito Kiyomiya now in the main event for July 9th; it is expected that win/lose or draw, Kiyomiya will be closing out the show with a big speech as he heads to NJPW's G1 Climax 33 which again starts on July 15th.
"The Forbidden Door" will air on PPV Worldwide on June 25th LIVE from Toronto, Ontario, Canada starting at 7 PM Eastern/6 PM Central/4 PM Pacific.
"Sunny Voyage 2023 in Hachioji" comes July 9th on Wrestle Universe at 4:00 PM Local Time/3:00 AM Eastern/2:00 AM Central/Midnight Pacific.
Go to timeanddate.com and type in the city and country you currently live in to find out the start time in your area to these two events.

Guitar update: in a groove
I played my songs today. I really love them.
I also tried to play the last book I was given for Christmas; Songs of the 2000s. This book is MASSIVE. Like... My music stand cannot handle its size. (Insert innuendo?) So I decided that I would not play it today.
I just didn't have the spoons.

Book Cover Reveal!
I am beyond thrilled to introduce you to the book that my husband @ericdesmarais and I wrote last year (2021). Assassins! Accidental Matchmakers is an urban fantasy romance, and it will be available in bookstores (and e-bookstores) September 15, 2022!! You can pre-order it now. Here’s the link to its Goodreads page, in case that helps.
When we got the contract for the book, there was only one artist that I wanted for the cover. I was extremely nervous asking, but gathered my courage and I’m so glad I did.
We asked the incredible artist @pinkpiggy93 to draw the cover for us, and we were absolutely blown away by her work. So much so that I’ve asked her to do the cover for the spin-off that I wrote that will be coming out in spring 2023.
Without further ado, here is the cover:

Summary:
Kennedy Fairfield just graduated in the class of 2002, and is now trying to find her purpose in life, or at least a job in her field. For Kennedy and Jason to discover why people are disappearing in time to save her friends, they'll have to face teleporting assassins, grumpy wizards, gossiping hags, mafia robots, and secret military groups, all in the city of Westmeath, Ontario, which has more secrets than residents.
The first book of four in The Gates of Westmeath series.

Most meet-cutes don't include assassins. Most love stories don't involve becoming a superhero. Then again, Westmeath isn't like most cities.

Ontario Draw Update: The Path to Canada's Immigration through Express Entry
In recent years, Canada has become an increasingly popular destination for individuals seeking new opportunities and a better quality of life. With its diverse culture, strong economy, and welcoming environment, it's no wonder that many aspiring immigrants are setting their sights on Canada. Among the various pathways to immigration, the Express Entry system stands out as a highly efficient and streamlined process. In this article, we'll delve into the Ontario Draw Update, highlight the importance of securing the assistance of the best immigration consultants in India for Canada, and shed light on the Express Entry score as a crucial factor in successfully navigating the immigration process.
The Ontario Draw Explained
Aspiring immigrants to Canada are often drawn to the province of Ontario due to its vibrant economy, excellent healthcare system, and diverse communities. Ontario regularly conducts draws through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to invite candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The OINP aims to address the province's labor market needs by selecting highly skilled individuals who have the potential to contribute to Ontario's economic growth.
The Significance of Immigration Consultants in India for Canada
Navigating the complex immigration process can be a daunting task, especially for individuals residing in India who are unfamiliar with the intricacies of Canadian immigration policies. This is where the expertise of immigration consultants becomes invaluable. The best immigration consultants in India for Canada possess in-depth knowledge of the immigration system, current regulations, and various programs available, including Express Entry. They provide guidance, support, and personalized strategies to increase an applicant's chances of success.
The Express Entry System
Express Entry is Canada's flagship immigration program that manages applications for three economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). It operates through a comprehensive points-based system, where candidates are assessed based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence.
Calculating the Express Entry Score
To determine eligibility for Express Entry, candidates must calculate their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The CRS assigns points for various factors, with additional points available for having a provincial nomination or a valid job offer. The higher the CRS score, the better the chances of receiving an invitation to apply. It is essential to maximize the CRS score by focusing on areas such as language proficiency, education credentials, and work experience.
Enhancing Language Proficiency
Language proficiency plays a pivotal role in the Express Entry system. Adequate proficiency in English or French can significantly boost a candidate's CRS score. It is essential to prepare for language tests such as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP). Investing time and effort into improving language skills can lead to higher scores and increased chances of success.
Optimizing Education Credentials
Education is another critical factor in the CRS score calculation. Earning a post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution can contribute valuable points. Candidates with higher levels of education are often perceived as having a greater potential to succeed in the Canadian labor market. It is advisable to obtain an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to validate foreign educational credentials and ensure their recognition in Canada.
Highlighting Work Experience
Work experience is a key consideration in the Express Entry system. Candidates with substantial work experience in skilled occupations are more likely to receive invitations to apply. The number of years worked, job responsibilities and skill level are all taken into account. It is crucial to provide accurate and detailed information about previous work experience, ensuring it aligns with the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
Provincial Nomination Programs
Provincial nomination programs offer an excellent opportunity to enhance a candidate's Express Entry profile. Obtaining a nomination from a specific province, such as Ontario, provides additional points and guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence. It is crucial to stay updated on provincial nomination program requirements and eligibility criteria to take advantage of these pathways.

The best immigration consultants in India for Canada have a deep understanding of the Express Entry system and its intricacies. Math is often used to distort information and outright lie for the benefit of the ones doing the number massaging. Here it's the studios. Anytime you see math, they're hoping you just take the numbers as they are and not ask questions since it's "data", and data is "objective", you know the saying, "numbers don't lie" because they "come from somewhere"? ***Don't fall for it.***
Think of math as a kind of argument, a logic using symbols to abstract it away from where it came from in order to reach a particular conclusion. Someone gathered and chose to present those numbers this way. Both are places of possible distortions. Immediately start asking questions.
When I saw that pie chart of how much the unions make, I stopped and went: Okay let's say that really is the total of all the money the unions make, fine, but why is it only how much they make? They're not the only ones who get paid from making work. As a matter of fact, where is the overall revenue? They're making this much money but out of what? This chart has information, but it's *missing* a lot of other **relevant and necessary information** to make any conclusion other than that unions get money.
I wonder who benefits from others only being able to draw a conclusion like that from this data 🤔
Also, how many people work in each union? Why are those numbers not in the chart? Numbers can look giant until you realize that when broken down and divided up the way they really are, things are not as glamorous or lucrative as they seem. For example, here in Canada, the Conservative Ontario government just made a big show of giving $40 million to help hospitals in the province fix the abysmal ER situation. There are about 390 hospitals in the province. If you divide $40 million across all of them, they're basically giving hospitals around $102,500 each. The main issues causing problems in the ER are staffing shortages and space constraints. Hospitals don't have enough to expand an already existing building (it costs millions due to complications), so they can only really use the money for staffing. If you look up the salaries for nurses in the province, that means they can add maybe one full-time and one part-time nurse. There you go, “problem solved”. Two nurses. Why are you booing, keep protesting, and being unreasonable, we were generous see, it's 40 MILLION.
So how many people are represented by, for example, SAG-AFTRA? A quick online search gives you 160,000 people. $318 million divided up equally between 160k people? $1,987.5 per person, for the year. Why year? That's how overall income is counted. Add up all the money for the year for everyone in the union and get the total.
But we also know the money isn't divided up equally. 2% of actors make a big chunk of that. Which is why you're getting all the first hand accounts, receipts etc from working folks with outlandish checks for fractions. It's also why many of these folks have to have other jobs while working to be able to, I don't know, live?
So back to that *missing* info, how much is the estimated overall revenue (money earned after subtracting costs) of the studios? Well SAG-AFTRA breaks it down here https://www.wgacontract2023.org/updates/state-of-the-industry , which is where these numbers for this post are coming from.
Let's take the 2022 revenues estimates of $220 billion for the entertainment industry. To figure out what percentage the actors (or anything really) are getting overall (is it really a fair share), you take the smaller number (the part), divide it by the larger one (the whole), then multiply by 100 to see how much of a percentage/part it actually is. Think of a pizza (or cake), if you know how big a single slice is from the whole, you can understand whether or not it’s divided fairly. $318 million ($318,000,000) union actors divided by $220 billion ($220,000,000,000) of the overall amount? 0.0014. Multiply by 100 to get the percentage: 0.14% of the revenue. The actors union isn't even getting a single digit percent of the profit they generate.
If I gave you crumbs off that pizza (or cake) you made, would you find that okay?
Numbers are arguments being presented to you, question them, and if you feel comfortable enough, try to do the math yourself because the math is rarely as complicated or as difficult as it appears on first glance.
*Obviously, check my math and sources too. I'm not error or bias free, no one is.*
