I'm in the middle of a knitting project right fucking now, and I'm already looking at other projects to do. I'm not even close to finishing the current project and I'm looking at like three others. It's a real problem
#so the thing is i really like to knit as gifts (the project im on right now is a christmas gift for my sibling)#so i like to think of knitting projects i could do as gifts for upcoming holidays and such#but also i like cool things#so im looking at this bat cape for myself#i dont even have an occasion to wear a cape. and even crazier-#im trying to figure out how to make my own patterns. so i can knit a tapestry/blanket thing. of a fictional map from a ttrpg#im playing a ttrpg rn and i have become obsessed#and im painting the map onto a clipboard (it takes place at a summer camp and summer camp map on a clipboard makes sense)#but apparently thats not enough for me. because i want it as a full tapestry or blanket#but because it was created in my girlfriend's head (shes the gm) it doesnt exist as a pattern online#so i have to figure out how to make it come to life#thats way beyond my skillset. ive been knitting since 2019 and i only figured out the purl stitch in the last like year#i recently learned double knitting which has been fun. and thats as complex as my knitting knowledge gets#i knitted a nice shawl once. that and the double knitting is where it ends for me#so of course im trying to figure out colorwork for a map#idek where to start with that one. if you know then please lmk#it has like three colors and thats one more color than im used to#i lied maybe four. maybe five. okay so theres green for land. blue for the lake. black for buildings and roads#then like beige or gray for a bit of cliffs. and there's also a shipwreck that i would have to figure out#if that helps you help me then please let me know cuz i really want to do this project#im super passionate about this game and the campaign and i love knitting. i would love to do something with it related to knitting#there are two really good artists in the party that share their amazing art#one of them made a much better map than my painted one that i havent finished. so i think it would be so funny to swing in with a#knitted tapestry or something. and because its a colorwork blanket it will be years down the road. but there are such nice drawings#and then me coming in with a knitted map. thatd be so fun#anyway i went on a ramble in here. i should go work on the current knitting project i have

Career advancement through computer science camps
Computer science camps can be very helpful for anyone interested in technology, regardless of the particular field. One of the best reasons to sign up for a camp and master computer science over the summer is if you plan to enroll in an AP Computer Science program at your high school. It is a smart move to enroll in AP classes because they significantly improve your college applications. If they do well on the official exam (if there is one) that follows the course, students who attend such intensive camps also have a fantastic chance of being considered for lucrative internships or scholarships with well-known tech companies like Google or even Amazon.
Excellent AP exam results can also lead to other fascinating internship opportunities. Students who aspire to acquire an MBA, land prominent internship positions, or enroll in particular IT or software engineering schools will undoubtedly have an advantage over the rest of their peers. Students at the work with mentor engineers or business professionals to obtain even more insight into the inner workings of the company. Students who receive basic computer science education early are also better suited for profitable careers once they are ready to enter the industry. Computer scientists are widely used in the field of cybersecurity. These days, jobs in this specialized industry can be rather lucrative. If you're interested in artificial intelligence (AI), a computer science summer camp can help you prepare for future study as well as a career in that specialized field. Data science occupations are on the rise as more and more individuals realize they cannot analyze the vast amounts of information and data being produced today. During the best summer tech camp, you might also gain a greater understanding of data science.
High school students now have a variety of summer programs to pick from to accommodate their various academic and timetable needs by merely doing a search for online summer courses in tech or tech day camps.

Okay so someone shared this link on the server for the Chronicles of Darkness game I've been running since 2020 and I looked at the link and went 'yeah right' and then I read the article and went 'hunh' and then I watched the first three episodes of 'Knuckles,' which didn't take long because each episode is about half an hour long, and actually I fucking cried my eyes out at the big fight that is referenced because like... it's ... good, actually?
The show is very silly, and a lot of the humor is very childish, which makes a lot of sense, right, because it's about a fucking video game, but, at least so far, it's an extremely sincere show.
The siblings in this show act like highly exaggerated siblings. Of course adults wouldn't act like this, but it doesn't matter, because that's not really who the show is for. The show is for kids. It's goofy. The heart of sibling rivalry is there. The heart of hurting over a parent who abandoned you is there. The heart of a parent missing a family tradition is there.
The jokes that are made are made with love for Jewishness. Whoever made the food jokes has eaten a lot of gefilte fish and matzoh ball soup. Whoever wrote the episode understands how important it is that nothing puts out the Shabbat candles. Whoever wrote the episode understands the importance of minhagim -- the traditions that are unique to your family, to your synagogue, whatever.
Clearly they're not shomer Shabbos because their traditions include watching movies after Shabbat dinner, but that's not presented as them being Bad Jews -- it's just their family tradition, and that's just how it is.
Mom's bracha for the candles has the 'Adenoy' pronunciation which is so very New York Older Ashkenazi Jewish that it made my heart ache and made me powerfully homesick for the East Coast, since so many of the older people at my old shul used that specific pronunciation.
The fact that they literally centered a pair of Shabbas candles (with what are clearly kosher candles burning!!) in the fight, and the entire fight revolves around those candles? It just hit me right in the middle of the chest.
There's a difference between a show being silly and a show being insincere, and Knuckles is silly but it's not insincere. I will fully admit that I watched the first three episodes to get to the episode entitled The Shabbat Dinner, but you know... I might just finish the series? It's got heart, and all of the actors are clearly having such a good time. It's one of those projects that I refer to as a Summer Camp Show/Movie, where everybody's getting a nice paycheck and having a very good time and not taking themselves too seriously.
Plus, Christopher Lloyd made me laugh until I choked.

Do you have fic recs for cherik exes to lovers?
Saved the best for last, Anon - exes to lovers is my absolute FAVOURITE trope!
These are some of my personal favourites; I hope you enjoy :D :D :D
symphysis by ikeracity
After Charles and Erik broke up four months ago, Charles convinced himself he'd never see Erik again. But life has a funny way of bringing people back together.
it was a yellow umbrella spring by ikeracity (series - read part 1 first!)
Three years after Charles left for Oxford, Erik discovers that Charles is coming back to New York.
Second chances are wonderful things.
Lean On Me by SpiritsFlame
Ten years ago, Charles and Erik split up, dividing their six kids between them. None of them expect them to meet at summer camp. And no one could have predicted the results.
preheat to 350 (just for you remix) by ikeracity
Charles realizes he's in love with Erik. But there's one tiny little problem: he just broke up with Erik.
Repeat Offenses by populuxe
“Prickly bits aside—hell, for the two of them, prickly bits included—it almost felt like a date. Which is stupid on multiple fronts. Grudgingly buying your ex a meal after he grudgingly bails you out of jail is obviously not a date.”
Five times Charles bailed Erik out of jail—and one time he didn’t.
melt your headaches, call it home by joshriku
Two decades later after the last time he saw Charles Xavier, Erik's children lead him right back to him.
Of course, it's never easy to look at the ex love of your life and realize you're not over them, not even in the slightest.
my heart knows your name by borninsideatornado
Once they’ve finally got him in bed, Charles works up the courage to ask if he might stay for a few days, because being rejected can’t be worse than seeing Erik in pain. But Erik only says, “I think that would be good.”
The Way I See You by kianspo
Charles is an FBI agent working white collar crimes, specializing in art theft. Erik is a master forger. It's all well and good, except no one knows that Charles and Erik used to be in love once upon a time. Years later, they meet again.
my heart knows your name by borninsideatornado
Once they’ve finally got him in bed, Charles works up the courage to ask if he might stay for a few days, because being rejected can’t be worse than seeing Erik in pain. But Erik only says, “I think that would be good.”
to put the world between us by populuxe
Erik Lehnsherr is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood: fresh off an Academy Award nomination, he’s about to star in HBO’s most anticipated show of the year. And even though online chatter about his recent string of queer roles keeps getting louder, his personal life remains personal—just as it always has, and just as his manager and publicist continue to advise.
But when he winds up at the same wedding as his college best friend, Charles Xavier—and when they quickly fall into bed together—he’s forced to revisit the past he’s been trying to get away from for years. The pull between them has always been magnetic, but so has the weight of secrecy. Can they keep from repeating the same mistakes, or will the price of the truth be too high?
Walking in a Winter Wonderland by TurtleTotem
Charles hasn't seen Erik since their devastating breakup ten years ago. He's certainly the last person he expects to run into at a Christmas lights display.
Old Flame Burning by TurtleTotem
It's ridiculous for Charles to dread meeting the best man at his sister's wedding, just because he shares a name with Charles's ex. It's not as though it could possibly be the same Erik.
The Edge of What Doesn’t End by populuxe
When a mysterious object appears on the moon, Moira MacTaggert calls in two experts with very specific mutations to investigate.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, after years of breaking up and getting back together again, those two experts have finally broken up for good—and they’re the last people in the world who should be stuck together on a spaceship.
I need sleep like I need oxygen (I'm not admitting to missing you like crazy) by ximeria
Erik needs sleep, but since he and Charles broke up, he's not been able to get a good night's sleep.
December, Take Two by Anonymous
Charles has no problem being in the same room as his ex at Emma's holiday party. They're adults, after all.
We have not touched the stars, nor are we forgiven (the things you love don't last remix) by hllfire
Charles hands Erik the signed divorce papers, but Erik has changed his mind. Too late, it seems. All he can do is go forward with the divorce. A year later, Charles comes back, and Erik can't help but wanting to see him. The only problem is things don't go like Erik had planned.
Spy Games by manic_intent
Prompt: Burn Notice AU, with Erik Lehnsherr as the spy and Charles as the trigger-happy ex boyfriend. Erik is burned for unknown reasons in Mexico and wakes up in New York City. Somehow, he needs to raise $500,000, in order to find out -why-.
Best Ex Ever by 1sttimefeeling
Charles wakes up drunk on the pavement of a gas station, phone dead. He finds a payphone but can only remember one number. Erik Lehnsherr's.
The problem? They broke up two years ago.
Twice in One Lifetime by Gerec
Written for this prompt: Charles and his fiance Steve, are happily waiting for their first baby. What they are not expecting is the baby to arrive almost a month earlier and looking like a miniature copy of Charles' ex-boyfriend Erik.
It takes them a lifetime to get it right.
Years Falling Like Grains Of Sand by clarasteam
Seven years after they met and parted, Charles and Erik meet again in the most unlikely place.
Every Song I Know by clarasteam
“Erik,” Janos says wearily, “you had amazing sex with this guy. He obviously really likes you. You have, what, a month, six weeks left? You can spend it moping and hiding and worrying you're going to run into him. Or you can call him, have a good time, and figure out where you go from there.”
Erik groans. It's what he wants to do, so much it scares him.
Talk, Baby, Talk by lyonet
“Enough,” Erik said furiously. “It’s over. Let it die.”
“Be fair, sugar,” Emma said. “We made good music. It was your choice to wear magenta armour and a cape.”
Carry Me Anew (Frost & Darkholme Remix) by kianspo
While working as a model for Raven and Emma's clothing line, Erik experiences a strong attraction to his shoot partner. These things happen, except Erik has a boyfriend, who does not take this at all well.
+
linger like a tattoo kiss by ikeracity
Six months apart gives Erik a lot of time to think about what he really wants.
An absence which could not be more there by aesc
He prepared to shift another half-step over to the Current Events section (which would, of course, enrage him) when the teaser positioned by the model's left elbow caught his eye: DATING WHILE TELEPATHIC: WHY I DON'T DO IT.
Salem Center Mass by listerinezero
Erik Lehnsherr is a professional hitman and has no intention of attending his ten year high school reunion. But since he happens to have a kill lined up in the same town at the same time, he decides he may as well stop by. After all, his high school sweetheart, Charles Xavier, might be there. And it's not like he's spent the past ten years pining over Charles. Not at all.
Three wheels of cheese and a Great White by ximeria
Charles and Erik were friends with benefits in college.
They went their separate ways and 18 years later, they run into each other in New York.
The sex was never a problem back in college - and sex was all it had been. But now Erik is a divorced father and Charles has admitted to himself he needs more than just sex in a relationship. So in their usual round-about way they try to navigate becoming friends after so many years. The whole quest is aided by Raven, Edie, Wanda and Pietro (and a large number of shark jokes).

THE CHALLENGE
ONE-SHOT (PJO x reader)
pairings : (slight will solace x reader) (slight nico di angelo x reader)
Tumblr media
SUMMARY :
In a spur of typical ADHD indecisiveness, you challenge Clarisse La Rue to an archery competition to “heroically” save the new camper.
One thing – you have never held a bow. Actually, two things, your only experience in firing something are online shooting games you were obsessed with before you came to camp.
Third thing, you aren’t claimed. So, here you are – prepared to face another “dunking” your head in the toilet cliche.
a/n : very short, spur of moment! so don’t expect something really good.
warnings : reader may use gaming terms? also to people who do archery, I apologize for inaccuracies , this is something i thought up quickly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The snow that elegantly bows down the ground is a sight you’ll grow tired of, soon. However, with the steaming cup that flows within the air and the warmth that Will gives you when winter enters is a feeling you’ll miss, forever.
Camp has once again been shrouded in the comforts of winter, the cold shifting in the bodies of those unprepared. The piling of jackets and puffers that the Aphrodite cabin have been handing out to the shivering campers paired with the Apollo kids carolling at the early of night – the shaking of tambourines and bells ringing through your earmuffs. The grassed terrain is overfilled with litters of soft snow that squish under your boots, a satisfying crunch heard in every step. Internally, your mind is wrapped around fleeced and heavy blankets that snug comfortably in warmth – winter is here, and it’s a time where you have peace.
Unlike the previous seasons, where in Summer – Percy Jackson changed the whole trajectory of peaceful camp life. His forbidden nature of a child of the Big 3, the prophecy, the betrayal of Luke and of course, you can’t forget that damn pine tree becoming Thalia. It was a compilation of events your brain always wants to etch out. It gives you enough headaches, you swear that both the Hephaestus and Apollo cabin have to be in an alliance to either heal or re-work your memories.
“Thank Olympus, hope no one’s gonna ruin Christmas,” the fog that erupts from your mouth makes you awe, playfully mixing in with the steam of hot chocolate.
You hear the laugh of the boy beside you, his bright eyes squinting at your words. “Don’t say things like that, you’ll get jinxed!”
“Will, c’mon you seriously can't believe what Travis has been saying,” you huff, a nudge to his shoulder. “Not everything has to be jinxed, let camp be peaceful for once!”
The look Will gives you is half-turned smile, blonde curls shaking as his disagreement is obvious. “No no, when has camp ever been peaceful?”
That question makes you think, a little yeah, your right erupts from a slight whisper.
With the slight admission, he raises his brows – warm laughter once again emerging from his throat. “Told you! Have you seen my half-siblings running around the infirmary?” His fingers pointed at the unusually packed line that was held within the rather run-down building. Following his direction, you find Lee Fletcher bouncing around and talking in everyone – voice echoing. You flinch a slight bit, the nagging from his mouth reminiscing you to the times you wound up there, a bandage stuck to your head and ambrosia sticking to your taste buds.
“Well…” trailing off, the mug nestled in your hands – an idea popping in, a new way to battle Will’s words. “Well, that’s like normal – it’s practically peaceful enough…”
You see the twist in his face, which makes you have to explain yourself even further. “I mean like, peaceful like when not faced with pine trees turning to humans, weird threats… that stuff! It’s different, no very- very- ultra dangerous threats!”
“Ahhh,” he finally nods, a cheer escaping your lips. “Guess you’re right, but I did hear news about Percy coming back…” he sighs, a rather big smile on his face. “That means I get to meet this “legend” camp’s been raving about.”
The news practically has everything in your mind shattered, divided into little minions that scream murder and crowd up your thought process.
“W-what?!” The growl that manages to bubble up makes Will jump in surprise, eyes wide.
“H-he’s gonna return?” you shake his shoulders, hot chocolate now soaked deep in the snow. The noises that come out are frantic, like an old lady spouting crazy visions paired with whined moans like a toddler not getting their sweets. “You’re joking!”
“I heard Chiron and T-thalia talk about it,” Will tries to tell you, but the constant shakes spurs his speech – bubbles of thoughts entering your ears. He gently grabs on your face, patting it to stop. The assault (and the warmth, unknowingly) has you slow down your movements, a more rational thought entering your frazzled state. He still holds onto you, and in a brief shared glance – a gentle gaze deep into yours. Your mind slowly dissipates, talking in the crisp air, his soft touch, and the snow falling onto your nose.
“You’re good at this,” you hold onto his hands, detaching it slowly – but you still hold on, weirdly enough.
“At what?”
“Calming people down,” you let go of his hands. “Like a healing touch, I guess?”
“Healing touch?” his brows are raised high, “Are you saying that because I’ve been claimed by Apollo?”
“Well, it fits?”
He lets out an awkward chuckle, “I don’t even have any abilities yet!”
“Hey, it’s just been like 4 months,” you pat his shoulder. “You’ll be able to channel some cool Apollo-like things – like… Archery?”
He gives you a disappointed whine, “Look I’ve tried everything, singing –”
“Yeah,” swallowing a lump in your throat, “that was really bad.”
“Oh, shut,” he punches your shoulder, “I’ve done musical instruments, poem writing, and archery yesterday was a big fail!” He buries himself deep in his hands, a sigh lifting from his tongue. “Gods, I'm virtually just a heatwarmer.”
Your eyes soften at his words, rubbing his hands. “You haven’t tried healing yet, right, maybe you’d do good there.”
“But healing’s scary,” he confesses, muffled sounds now on your end. “I see Lee handle that and...” He raises to meet your face, worry seeping through his expression. “I don’t know if I can handle that.”
“Then… “ you mumble off, eyes darting to think of a solution. “Well medic work in the online games I’ve played were simple enough.”
“Oh my, this isn’t a game,” the slight amusement in his tone has you brighten up, “that stuff is automatic, a simple press and they’re healed.”
“Hey hey, I’m trying to comfort you.”
“It’s not effective, I can’t just find some medkits and throw it at someone and hope they’ve been healed.”
“You’re missing my point!”
“That point was?”
You shake your hands around, deflecting the conversation. “W-whatever! I… we can have Lee teach us.”
Hope shines in his eyes, “Us, you mean you’d wanna be a medic too?”
The nod you give makes his eyes sparkle a tad bit brighter, “I mean, I’m unclaimed. So there’s no skill I have, same boat right?”
“Aside from being obsessed with shooting games?”
You push him off the log, “It doesn’t hurt to learn something. Let’s just do it together. Okay?”
He groans from the confines of the snow, lifting your body to kneel over his side – cheeky smile to your face. A hand reaching over to help him up, “You up for it?”
His hand finds yours, a slight complaint from his mouth. “If there’s nothing to do, we can try.”
You bump his head in a lighthearted manner, “Hehe, I can eat the stacks of ambrosia and nectar by the cabinets.”
“Really? I’d wanna try that,” his movements slow, his gaze faced down. “It reminds me of mom's pie,” his voice held longing, seeing how his fingers grip onto his coat.
The tone he had made you pause to look at him, the reality set in despite the air of Christmas that you two confided yourselves in. That even if he was finally safe, in a haven where he had no fear of monsters creeping up to attack him and his mother. An explanation to the massive questions he had about himself – a place where he could be himself, freely.
It also came with weird nightmares that’d have you stare in the starry sky, the fingers of death coming and closing in at the clock of your birthday, and to spend Christmas without the comforts of someone dear – you understand why his eyes dulled and his smile now neutral.
You stood up, dusting yourself up. “Well,” a rather mischievous look covering your features. “First to go there can eat it infinitely, losers only get a small bite!” with a head start, your feet dash along the path towards the infirmary.
The cold air filling in your lungs, yet the running brought intense fire burning – the clash of these feelings made you giddy. Laughter heard between you two, Will’s steps catching on. His voice rumbling and shouting the words cheater echoed in the seeming empty woods.
The two of you found yourself streamlining through some nymphs playing by the snow, the satyrs hunched around fires, campers rolling snowmans and shooting snowballs. You had to save Will from Katie’s intense aim, her vision automatically thinking you were the Stolls.
“Woah that was a nice headshot,” you awed at her aim, “Better than those online weirdos who…”
“I’m ahead!” Will sings, blowing a raspberry to your way.
“H-hey no!”
Then you passed by the arena, hearing the clash of metal and taps of feet moving synchronously. The slings of arrows warping through the air heard within the distance.
It’s just a normal camp day, free from fear, from monsters.
It was a day where campers could be free from their obligation, the burden of being a demigod lifted for just a little second —
“Oh–!”
You tumbled down the snow, rolling down a hill, the weight on top of you has your breathing choked out. Holding onto the weird pressure tightly – was it a person?
In the disarray of everything, the bundles of white entering your vision, the cut-off breathing, and some guy rolling with you? Your ambrosia and nectar were at stake!
You two crashed on something, immediately pushing off the person.
“What the –?!”
Settling your sights on the boy who lumped against the snow, his face was unfamiliar. He had ebony hair that messily contrasted the white beneath him, his skin tanned, he looked the same age as you – 10. His hands gripped onto a figurine, you see his breathing slowly. In a quick motion, you hovered the boy with concern all over.
“Are you okay?”
With a twitch in his eyes, bits of snow littering his eyelashes. It fluttered open, and he jumped – the figure clutched used to hit your head.
“O-ow!” you staggered back, hands rubbing over the sore spot. “The hell!”
“I-i’m sorry!” the boy says, coming more into your view.
“You better be!” you roar back to him, “Why’d you do that? God that hurt!”
“You looked like a monster, “ he says in a haste, hands playing with his figure. “You know we were just attacked by one – a manticore.” He awes, bringing out a holographic card to shine to your face. “3000 ATK plus you get an extra 5 to save throws, cool right?”
“Y-you just called me a monster!” you barked out, and though your eyes lingered on the card a bit too long you shook him off. “Look, you need to apologize two times,” you told him firmly, crossing your arms. Scanning him up and down, you figured – he was new. “That was hurtful – twice the pain and now I’ve lost the race against Will!”
He sets down the card, looking at the bruise forming on your skin (and also your heart). Holding his hands together, he mutters in a sincere tone.
“I’m sorry, for all that.”
Silence overtakes the two of you, your defensive position slowly crumbling down. You stare at the card planted between the space you two had. The intricate designs and the holographic sticker had your eyes entrapped, the anger you also bubbled up because he made you lose the race wilting away.
“The card is… cool,” you mutter, picking it up to hand it over. “What are they?”
His face gets overcome by a toothy grin, seeing excitement threatened to burst out if he spoke one more word. “They’re Mythomagic cards!” he sputters out in a daze, closing in to you.
Before you try to say anything, a rough hand lifts you up by the collar. Then instead of an excited boy ready to say all kinds of things about cards, you’re met with a fuming girl who practically said i’m gonna kill you, kid with no words at all.
With the burly build, scars littered even when the fur coat (that looked like she hunted herself) that hung around her body. Her chopped, but curly strands entered your view and her eyes glinted a dangerous red – her grin akin to boar’s animalistic growl to take down enemies.
“Clarisse?” you uttered in a meek tone, feet dangling above the ground. “Why?”
“You, you made this mess?” she brings your body towards the crashed crates and archery targets, throat suddenly filled. “You puny lil’ chump making me miss my shot!” she rages out, shaking you with vigor.
“But it was just a —”
“It was a bet for something,” she barked. “A bet for the next Capture the Flag game.”
Oh.
If there’s one thing about Ares kids, they don’t play around with Capture the Flag.
With one swallow of your throat, you prayed to a god and accepted your fate.
“I’m sorry Clarisse,” you begged, her steps dragging you two away. “Please don’t hurt me.”
An evil snicker ruptures through her, bringing you down to hit against the wooden frame of an archery target. With a small, condescending pat – she places something on your head.
“I won’t,” she says pointing to the pack of equally angry Ares’ kids who were stringing bows. “But they’ll help.”
“Oh, I'm just 10,” you cried out, eyes a bit watered.
“And? You need to be taught something —” her words get cut off by a snowball entering her mouth, muffling her speech. Darting to whoever threw it, it was the boy from earlier. Chest heaving as he shouted a quick “goal!” as he rushed over to your side.
But with Clarisse’s booming command the group huddled over and caught him. With new-found rage in her senses, she marches over to him and with a grip so harsh the veins popped out of her hands.
“Y-you! Oh, I can wait to get two lil’ kids knowing their lessons,” dragging him next to you.
“Let us go, you pig!” he lashes out, weak punches on trying to fight back, using his figure as a line of defense.
Picking up the figure, she mockingly waves it around. “Ha, it’ll be fun to make you my slaves.”
You worriedly watched, the scene making your body feel numbed, meant to just watch.
What should I do?
She once again laughs in his face, “Are ya’ new here? What’s your name!”
“Nico!” he shouts to her, trying his best to get it back. “Nico di Angelo – I bet your name is Ms. Piggy!”
You see the boy’s face determined, yet it glints with fear – so different from the happy look he donned. His toothed grin, and rather sporadic bounce was heartwarming.
His first time here and he was subjected to this, your heart dropped at the memories. The times you were new, the same face you shared – begging on your knees with tears streaming down your face. Even if you were in a time of peace now, they’d resurface and the guilt gnawed everywhere.
You didn’t want that again.
You don’t know if you should thank impulsivity for this, but your mouth ushered out words you shouldn’t have said.
“Clarisse! I-i’ll make a bet!” the tremble in your voice, slow steps as you walked towards her. “If I win, you leave us two alone – for a long time. If I lose, I’ll be your slave for everything.”
That makes her smile, dropping the figurine by the snow. Confidence roared through her every move, a scary tilt as she regarded the offer.
“That bet is?”
You swallowed your own saliva, that didn’t really enter your mind – you know what? Go with the flow, you internally told yourself. Taking in your surroundings, the only thing that registered was the fact you were in the archery range. With shaking hands, you grabbed a bow and gave it to her, pointing to the targets.
“It’s easy, we’ll shoot arrows in those three targets continuously, and whoever has the most points – wins.”
She gives you a wide look, “Are ya’ underestimating me? This is light work.”
Taking a good, she shakes her head. “Know what, this just makes it easier for me and harder for you. No need for goodluck,” she chuckles as she takes her position. You find that the archery range has garnered more people, a crowd forming in.
The nerves in your body shout at you, taking the hand of the boy – you settle him there in the bustling chatter of people. He only stares at you, with a gaped look and his hold tighter on the cards and figure he held.
“No worries,” you whispered, holding his gaze. “I-i’m good at FPS!”
“FPS?” he tilts his head, “what?”
“You know, video games…?”
“What? Oh like those arcade things in the casino?”
You give him a confused look, ready to explain before Clarisse calls your attention. There you see her work, and your brain could only burst up in haywire.
The first two, though not perfect, had the arrow shoved up near the target– while the third one nestled an arrow perfectly on the red dot, a bull’s-eye.
She tosses the bow to you, your hands clumsily catching it, a slight off-balance when you stumble. You walk through the crowd – recognizing the Hunters of Artemis who regarded what Clarisse did with impressed gazes. You find Will’s mop of hair, his face etched with concern, god’s they’re watching your demise.
How in Olympus were you gonna do this! The bow in your hands was unfamiliar, if it was a console or joystick you’d bet 20 drachma that Clarisse would be dead – but the actual thing? Oh, if you were in some online lobby you’d be hit with the most creative curses known to man.
However, you looked at the boy – face filled with hope, encouraging you to go on.
So even with the tremble in your hands, you did.
Just treat it like a game.
Just treat it like a game.
The words repeated in your mind, taking position.
Maybe someone took over your body, but the bow felt light – pliable and easy to mold. The string was flexible, following your movements like water. You drew your arrow, perching and fixing it. In your vision, you found yourself in the setting you were used to. The crosshair, the bow – like the gun, you went slow and waited for the perfect time. The arrow stuck to your face, the feather brushing your skin – the crisp wind slithered through your whole being. Removing you of the fear you felt, a quick surge of confidence coursing through. It was your warzone, and you weren’t gonna back down.
This is just a game.
Then you let go, the feather cutting through your cheek. It cut through fast, the bow spun and in a blink —
“Bull’s eye!” a voice says, it’s melodic, maybe someone from the Apollo cabin. But that didn’t concern you, the adrenaline seeped in – grabbing another arrow to nock on the string.
“Bull’s eye again!”
Then the dread came over again, faced with Clarisse’s perfect shot. But you turned back to the expecting crowd, and returned to face the red dot that loomed over you.
“Man, you’re too tense,” a voice rang through your mind, like a gentle whisper. “It interferes with aiming, sometimes all ya’ gotta do is shoot – “
Before camp, online games were your only escape. From the failed grades, the laugh of peers that followed you, and the disappointment that weighed in your whole mind. The feeling of bringing out your anger through shooting online randoms wasn’t the best, but it worked for you. The way you could get control, to feel a sense of victory – and to win wasn’t by hastily shooting the enemies or buying the newest gear.
All you just needed was a quick breather, a calm mind, and to take every chance.
So as you once again felt the arrow cut through your skin, the anticipation danced through.
And maybe you were dreaming, or maybe some prayers were answered.
But the crowd’s cheering and words behind you confirmed that it was both.
The arrow spun, a fast sling – hearing the loud crunch of wood entering your ears. Seeing how the arrow pierced through Clarisse’s with a split, halving hers to pieces. You find your arrow buried deep in the target, the bundles of feathers placed delicately in the middle.
“B-bull’s eye!”
Then something caught your eye, a soft red glow reflecting off the snow. The crowd gets even louder, their stares looking at something on top of you.
You held a confused gaze, head turning around – you caught Clarisse’s gaped look. The anger seething through her skin, but it wasn’t the usual. It held some respect? Everyone gave you a hard gaze, hearing Chiron’s hooves run through the crowd.
In a sudden movement, they all bowed. You were left to only look up — the red glow surrounded a symbol. It screamed strength, power, fear even if it was a simple spear. Your eyes widened at the recognition, an audible gasp from your tongue.
“Ares,” Chiron said, his voice rigid and filled with respect. “Destroyer of men, raider of walls, master of the art of blood.”
“Hail. (Name) (Last Name), Child of the God of War.”

iwaizumi and oikawa, a year and a half into their first true separation. iwaizumi in america, and oikawa in argentina. you see, they’ve had this thing going on since they were young children, when iwaizumi went to a sleep-away summer camp and the only way oikawa could talk to him was through letters. they got into the habit of writing over-the-top, fancy, kamakura-period type letters. since moving away from each other, it’s only gotten more intense.
less of a joke, really. they text each other often, but the letters - there is something about it, to oikawa. when he writes his letters, he fills it with love and adoration that he never conveys in his text message. he kisses the page before he folds it, right on the edges where he expects iwaizumi to grip the paper. oikawa has never told iwaizumi his affections, so he knows this is as close as he will ever get.
both of them already had a somewhat strong grasp on the english language during high school, but since moving to the americas, oikawa has become much better with alphabet and has learned quite a bit of english grammar by proxy of studying spanish AND receiving iwaizumi’s letters. iwaizumi has become far better at the language, pretty much fluent on survival alone.
so, it happens on a normal tuesday afternoon. oikawa gets back from practice to check his p.o. box, since he’s expecting an online delivery. he finds the package, but also an envelope with his name carefully penned in the english alphabet. he smiles, carefully holding it so he doesn’t crease any of lines.
he settles into a chair, his heart pounding as he opens the letter. it’s entirely in english, as he’s expected. his letters to iwaizumi are mostly in spanish; though, sometimes, he sends them in japanese. if just to remind himself of home.
it doesn’t take him long to find it. he reads it, the first line of the letter, over and over again. his name, written with a “dearest” before it, as per usual. that’s how they wrote to each other, after all. formal, overly-so. but he stops, and he reads it again and again until he’s sure he’s burned the image into his retinas.
iwaizumi has written: “My Dearest, Oikawa Tooru.”
not, “my dearest oikawa”, but, “my dearest,”. his dearest, of all.
so how long did your Hamilton an American Musical phase last?
---
“Dearest,” Iwaizumi says, coming around the corner to lower the mug of tea over Oikawa’s shoulder, down into his hands from behind him on the couch. Oikawa looks up as he does, having clearly been surprised to hear him come in. “What are you looking at?”
Oikawa smiles for him, thanking him softly for the tea before setting it aside and showing him the torn, messy line paper from their early years. Long before the love, the marriage, long before the life together settled down. Iwaizumi recognizes the words immediately - their his own, from an era that seemed like it was yesterday, despite it being barely a memory now. “Just some memories.”
“Those stupid things?” Iwa grumbles, leaning over his shoulder to read his old, embarrassing writing. “Christ, that one was like… before you moved to Argentina, you’ve really dug them up… wait, did you keep all of them?”
“Of course I did,” Oikawa replies. “As many as I could, at least. Some got damaged, or lost… But they’re the reason we’re together now, so… I couldn’t bear to throw them away.”
“What? What do you mean?”
Oikawa smiles, as if excited that he’s finally asked, and reaches to take an envelope that is far more carefully preserved, opening it delicately to slide the paper out. This one, written in English, from Iwaizumi in his university years. Oikawa carefully runs a finger across the ink, and points out the opening line.
“My Dearest, Oikawa,” Oikawa reads out loud. “You still call me that. If you hadn’t chosen to switch the placement of the comma, I never would have had the courage to confess how I’d been feeling to you. I had always thought that your… dearest joke was just because we were pretending it was the eighteen hundreds. But that… change, just…”
“Oh,” Iwa says, leaning in closer to look at the letter. “Well, now that you mention it, that is very incriminating of me. Must have been a Freudian slip.”
“...excuse me?”
“Yeah, I… had no memory of writing that like that, at least, not intentionally. The dearest think had just always made you giggle, so-”
“Wait wait wait wait-” Oikawa says, sitting up suddenly and turning to face him. “You’re saying our relationship is built on a lie? I took this letter as a hint from you that you’d felt the same about me! That you meant what you said - Oh my God, I wrote you a love letter immediately afterwards - we got together because of this letter and it was an accident all along? Ah! Pedro told me it was probably just a mistake and I told him that no, you wouldn’t do that and I-”
“Hey, hey, Tooru-” Iwa laughs, leaning forward to take him by the face, stilling his racing tongue. “Like I said, a Fruedian slip. It is how I felt, you are my dearest, you know you are, that’s why I still use it-”
“But it’s not real! Our whole relationship is a lie!”
“Dearest,” Iwa repeats, and Oikawa shuts his mouth, staring up at him with big, woeful eyes. “We’ve been married forty-three years. I don’t think our relationship is a lie. If anything, this only proves what we both already knew.”
“...and what’s that?”
“That you were always far braver than I was. The universe knew I would never get there on my own, so it gave you a reason anyway.”
Oikawa smiles slightly. “Or, that I’ve always been a little delusional.”
“And that you get what you want,” Iwaizumi adds, leaning in to kiss his forehead.

A former co-worker of Luigi Mangione at the Stanford pre-collegiate studies program and a former student remembered Mangione as caring and outgoing when they met him, then a head counselor of the program, in 2019. A University spokesperson previously confirmed to The Daily that Mangione was employed as a head counselor for Stanford’s Pre-Collegiate Studies Program between May and September of 2019. The Daily also reviewed a Stanford Pre-College Studies spreadsheet that listed Mangione as living in the Kappa Alpha (KA) house that year. The program offers academic courses to high school students from around the world, both on Stanford’s campus and online. Mangione’s LinkedIn profile states that he “designed lesson plans and taught artificial intelligence to gifted high school students” and “led a 7-member residential staff” as an employee. A former student of the program who lived in KA with Mangione told The Daily they had a positive relationship. “[Mangione] was just a very good summer camp counselor,” he said. “He was very easygoing. Everyone, as far as I could tell, got along with him. He was funny, a very chill guy.” The former student, who requested anonymity due to concerns about online harassment, estimated that around 50 people lived in KA that summer, including students and staff. The former student said that during a hike for the program, he had a two hour conversation with him about computer science and early career advice. “He took the time to do that, to really talk to me as I was starting to think about what I wanted to study in college,” the former student said. “The way that I felt was, this is a guy who just inherently cares about others.” Summarizing his relationship with Mangione, the former student said he was “our cool counselor who was in a frat that we would have conversations with.” A former program staff member who worked in the Enchanted Broccoli Forest (EBF) house that summer shared a similar impression of Mangione with The Daily. “He was very friendly, very outgoing. The other staff members liked him. The high school kids liked him.” The former staff member requested anonymity because of concerns about online harassment. After rereading old staff group chats from 2019, the former staff member observed that Mangione was “always the one organizing staff volleyball games.” He added that Mangione organized a trip to Big Sur among the counselors and was “one of the community builders within the group.” For both the former staff member and student, the announcement that Mangione was a person of interest in the shooting came as a shock. “Of all the people I’ve known in my life, he would not have been in my top 10,000 guesses,” the former staff member said. “It feels like a fever dream,” the former student said.

Castle Audio's HighSchool HC's
(Poll Winner!!!!)
Highschool Claire was definitely the hot jock that everyone wanted but no one could get. She would spend a lot of her time studying or she was at lacrosse/hockey practice so outside of those and pack activities there wasn't much seeing her. Because of her dedication she became captain of both teams her senior year.
Highschool Beth was an absolute party animal of a jock. Her grades were ok but she only put in what was required for her to pass by. When she wasn't also at lacrosse practice she could be found either at some house party or in the theater costume department. To most people's surprise she only had one short relationship (despite her being a known flirt) that was broken off shortly after her mom died.
Highschool Knight was awful at school and only passed thanks to Evie's genorouse tutoring. They ran track and took a break during the winter. They tried their best to stay under the radar especially after Claire and Beth graduated. But no matter how much they kept to themselves they were still always found sitting off to the side during Evie's cheer practices waiting for her to finish
Highschool Seer was the type of person who was never at class but still somehow managed to get straight A's. Because of frequent migraines and other magic related issues they were regularly absent. When they were present however you would commonly find them in the schools art classrooms sketching and painting, they were commonly described by their teachers as an "Artistic Visionary"
Highschool Ranger was apart of a lot of clubs especially ones that involved a lot of fundraising. Not only were they in student government, but they were also in the school nature appreciation club and on the yearbook committee. They loved organizing bake sales and would spend their summers at a local summer camp alongside their friend Isaiah.
Highschool Evie was not only a cheerleader but also participated heavily in her high schools tutoring program. She was a little shy as a freshman which earned her some unwanted attention but was surprised when one day the bullying just stopped. It almost seemed like the bullies were afraid of her for some reason. She never did find out why but Knight also seemed to redirect the conversation if it was ever brought up.
Highschool Rose was always very quiet and well read. She tended to keep to herself and always had her nose in some kind of literature. She was a "pleasure to have in class" according to her teachers and fell in love with english and writing based courses. When she wasn't at school she spent a lot of her time working or studying.
Highschool Abigail was the type of student that was taken to a seperate room to take tests because she had a difficult time focusing but she had great grades and loved to learn. She did morning announcements for her school and tried to establish a cryptid club (but it never became official). She didn't have many in school friends and was unfortunately picked on throughout most of highschool but in her senior year she found a great online community and started her podcast.
Highschool Bud was an average student but they were the type of person to be "friends" with everyone. They didn't have any close friends but they always had a place to sit at lunch and people to talk to just no one to really know them beyond basic friendship. They did also have a great relationship with their english teacher and would often spend their lunch or free period's in said teacher's classroom
Highschool Chloe was the kind popular girl that everyone wanted to be friends with who also had great grades. She was on her schools swim and debate teams and always ready to help when one of her friends needed someone. She graduated salutatorian and is still to this day a little peeved about coming in second
Highschool Dewdrop was an incredible swimmer on their schools team but they unfortunately had to drop the sport their senior year due to their chronic pain becoming harder to deal with. With all the new free time they put all their time into their studies and fell in love with biology and the other sciences

dare i ask what lukes reaction would be to five star trying to break up with him because of the hate from his fans 😆 i love angst
well.... the angst monster got all of us in a chokehold i guess because i ran to my laptop to answer this ask!
i think five star would try to break up with luke a few months after luke told the world about their relationship (after that ellen-esque interview i referenced in this ask). i imagine it's over summer break and five star and clar are spending the break touring with the band. and luke notices that five star is acting strangely distant with him.
like i'm talking you kissed him (a peck which left luke pretty sad) once when he picked you up from the airport and gave him a side hug and chose to sit in the backseat with clarisse instead of sitting shotgun next to him (which also ticked chris off a little bit because he wanted to spend time with his girlfriend, but you didn't want to leave clar's side)
and when you get to the hotel that they're staying at, luke is trying to talk to you and kiss you because he just missed you so much. but you keep saying that the flight got you so tired and you just want to sleep. and luke doesn't wanna push you so he lets you sleep. he tries to keep himself busy, watching videos on his phone while he's sitting on the couch (with his airpods in of course, he didn't want to wake you) but then his airpods die and he hears this weird notification on your phone. so he looks just because he's curious and he sees that you had notifications on for google flight trackers and you're looking up one way flights to go home two days from today...?
his heart sinks to his stomach because why were you already looking at flights to leave? you just got here. did you not want to spend summer with him anymore? he was really looking forward to spending his days with you, like how it used to be back at camp. and he just kind of spirals a little bit.
he leaves the hotel room and marches over to chris' room because he really needed to talk to his best friend. he would ask you and talk to you but he didn't want to wake you because what if he was just in his head and you really were just tired? so he knocks on chris' door and chris (annoyed) tells him to go away and luke cringes because he realizes that clarisse is there and if you and him were on better terms, he would probably also not open the door for anyone.
so he goes back to his room only to realize that he locked himself out. he sits outside and keeps watching his little videos until his phone dies to try to distract himself from going crazy and he dozes off leaning on the door. when you wake up in the middle of the night to go use the bathroom and you realize you're alone in the room, you're immediately grabbing your wallet and keys to look for luke because it's not like him to disappear without telling you.
turns out, you didn't have to look too far because the minute you open the door, luke falls to the ground with a soft 'ow' and he looks at you apologetically for waking you. and it makes your heart crumble because he was so cute and sweet and you've been such a bitch to him since you got there.
you tell him to get up and let him in the room and he's timid and worried and anxious because it feels like the other shoe is about to drop. and when it does, you're sitting on the foot of the bed you're supposed to share and you're crying and luke feels torn because he wants to kiss your tears away but you're literally breaking up with him.
and by the time you finish your sentence, it feels like luke's heart was pierced by an arrow and all he can say is "what did i do?"
goddamn luke castellan. of course his first instinct is to assume that he wasn't enough and your heart constricts in your chest and then you're sobbing about how much it hurts seeing what people said about you online and it's starting to feel like you'll never be enough for him.
the minute those words leave your lips, luke's eyes are all watery and he's kinda laughing, not because he doesn't think the situation wasn't serious but because he just can't believe that you still don't get how much he loves you. when you hear him laughing, you're looking at him all confused (and a little hurt that he's joking about this) and he instantly grabs your face in your hands and kisses you the way he's been wanting to kiss you since you got here.
the kiss is messy and there's so much tears involved but when he finally pulls away, he's mumbling things you can't comprehend because the kiss left you breathless and dizzy and cursing at yourself for even thinking about letting this go.
and luke is calling you five star like he always does and makes some dramatic declaration about how if you tried to break up with him again, he'd probably die of heartbreak and you'd tell him he's being dramatic but he's soooo serious.
he'll kiss you over and over and just sigh in your mouth about how much he missed you and all you can do is cling to him (but he's not complaining because if he had it his way, he would stay glued to you forever) and you spend the night in luke's arms telling him about everything that's been building up and he listens until you're out of words.
at their next show, the band debuts an unreleased song (which gets pirated and uploaded as a podcast episode on spotify) called 17 (by pink sweat$) and while the crowd is cheering for them, he looks to the side of the stage and blows you a kiss.

Idk if anyone has asked already, but do the boys still play D&D in acswy? I don’t remember it being mentioned anywhere so I got curious
while it doesn’t really come up because of the premise of the fic, they do! the four of them don’t play together often because 1. will lives in a different area than dustin/lucas/mike so they don’t all meet up in person too much (although they text and call individually and are very close still of course) and 2. before this summer, mike and will specifically haven’t Really hung out outside of camp at all except for their/their friends’ birthdays and other special occasions. however something that’s very important to us is that they definitely got together online to play over the summer of 2020 and i think that was something that all of them really enjoyed, so calling them The Party would still technically be lore accurate here, even though i don’t think they refer to themselves as the party as much as they do in canon. also similarly to canon, mike and lucas and dustin’s high school had a d&d club that they dabbled in (mike and dustin more so because lucas was off being an Athlete and doing Athlete Things sometimes), but overall they’re all dorks, so yes, definitely!

Hikaru no Go DRAMA TIME LET'S GO
Tumblr media
WHAT IS IT?
Hikaru no Go was a Weekly Shounen Jump manga written by Yumi Hotta and illustrated by Takeshi "Death Note" Obata that ran from 1998 to 2003, totaling 23 volumes. It had a 75 episode anime adaptation from 2001 to 2003. The story of Hikaru, a young boy who finds himself haunted by Sai, the ghost of a go player from Heian era Japan and acts as an avatar for the ghost to continue pursuing his passion. Hikaru becomes more interested in learning go and playing for himself, eventually setting his sights on becoming a professional under the mentorship and friendship of Sai. It follows the same formula and plot beats as tournament battle or sports manga for the same demographic and is one of my top five sports series.
In 2020, there was a Chinese drama adaptation that you should watch, whether you're a fan of the manga or not. It's more of a coming-of-age series than a sports series, but the heart and soul of the series remains intact.
LET'S MEET OUR FRIENDS (AND ENEMIES)!

There are a number of characters who also play a significant part in the drama with source material characters who were only relevant in a chapter or two and I could not find manga panels searching online. Dedication to format does not permit me to use screenshots from the anime and also, let's be honest, early '00s Jump adaptations did not have the highest quality of animation, especially compared to where Obata's art was by the later volumes of the manga (which I have almost all of in Japanese, but can't currently access [it's under my bed]).
After the first few episodes, there's a time-skip that brings the main characters into their teens. That's probably one of the reasons for certain characters being more fleshed out and some
PLOT ADDITIONS & ABSENCES
There's now a summer training camp arc!
There are fewer sub-arcs making up the journey from ignorant baby to professional.
There's a moving away from home young man arc!
There isn't an entire arc dedicated to a supporting character traveling to another country to find himself.
AND OF COURSE YOU MIGHT ASK
Tumblr media
The Chinese adaptation of a Weekly Shounen Jump manga from 20 years ago ends up being queerer than some adaptations of explicitly queer source material.
(To those familiar with the source material: Yes, That Part happens. Yes, it made me cry in drama form. Embrace being wrecked.)
Watch it. You'll love it.

Lost in the Book with Stitch part 2
Disclaimer: This is a fan translation. I apologize for any mistakes. I’m by no means fluent in Japanese, but I try my best. Please, support the official translation when it comes out.
Tumblr media
Library
Floyd: “Why is everyone gathered together like sardines?”
Ace: “Well. For summer vacation, I was assigned a troublesome book report.”
Ace: “I was talking with Yuu and the others about which book to write the essay on.”
Ace: “I met the housewarden by chance, and he’s picking out a good book for me.”
Grim: “First of all, I don’t want to write a book report.”
Riddle: “Not to worry. I will pick books suitable for each level.”
Tumblr media
Lilia: “Azul and Floyd are also looking for books.”
Lilia: “Has anyone seen the book ‘Accurate Account! Twisted Wonderland Stroll’?”
Riddle: “Well……I don’t recall seeing it.”
Ace: “Why are you looking for that book? Do the seniors also have a book report assignment?”
Floyd: “Nuh-uh. It’s a guide to help decide where to go for summer vacation.”
Ace: “Eh, the upperclassmen are traveling?”
Tumblr media
Ace: “Actually, I plan to go to the Shaftlands with my family.”
Floyd: “Oh. Crabby-chan, you have a nice family.”
Ace: “Nah, it’s been a long time since we’ve been on a family trip, right? It just so happens that my brother was able to take time off.”
Azul: “Shaftlands… Jack-san. For reference, are there any recommended areas in the Shaftlands?”
Jack: “Recommend? Of course…the Shaftlands is huge, and there’s a plateau that’s cool even in the summer, so it’s popular as a summer resort.”
Tumblr media
Jack: “I went last year with my siblings, and the scenery was beautiful and spacious.”
Jack: “Every day I’m asked to go again. Summer vacations keep bringing me back.”
Lilia: “The famous summer resort is a mountain in the north side? It certainly looks like a pleasant summer to spend there!”
Lilia: “Hm……if I use magic over there, I may be able to make a day trip. I think I’ll secretly take Malleus with me.”
Floyd: “What about you, goldfishie? Are you seriously going home to study?”
Riddle: “No. I have plans for summer camp.”
Azul: “Camp!? That doesn’t fit Riddle-san’s image…”
Tumblr media
Riddle: “Is that so? It was recommended by my mother. I’m personally looking forward to it.”
Riddle: “We’ll be staying by a lake in the Queendom of Roses, and all the participants will have a study session from morning ‘til night.”
Ace: “Does that have to be done out by the lake…?”
*The boys talk among themselves*
Yuu:
“It sounds fun.”
“It’s always exciting before the break.”
Tumblr media
Grim: “Everyone all have plans to go play, I’m jealous.”
Grim: “I only have plans to hang out in Ramshackle Dorm! It’s boring!”
Grim: “Aah, I wanna go somewhere too~”
*sparkle*
Grim: “…Hm? One book is sticking out from the shelf. Have we ever had a book like this?”
Tumblr media
Floyd: “What’s wrong, baby seal-chan? Did you find the book already?”
Azul: “No, this seems to be another book. The cover is different from what I saw online.”
Riddle: “…Hm? The book Grim has doesn’t have a title written on it.”
Riddle: “The library label is also not affixed to it. This doesn’t seem to be a school book. Has someone’s personal property gotten misplaced?”
Lilia: “There’s a mirror embedded in it. It’s a strange binding.”
Lilia: “Also……something……”
Floyd: “…This book is amazing!”
Tumblr media
Lilia: “Hmm. Is this…magical power? I’m not sure…but I have a strange feeling I’ve never felt before…”
Floyd: “Aha, I have a funny premonition. I wonder what’s written inside.”
Grim: “Someone’s amazing secrets, treasure locations……Nyahaha, I’m excited!”
Grim: “Okay. Let’s look inside!”
*Book lights up*
Tumblr media
Grim: “Funaah! What’s this!? It’s blinding…!”
Everyone: “UWAAAAAH~~~~!”

Another Update on the Darling Update
Hey hey hey! Still not dead, still no update lol
So I think I mentioned it earlier but I've been taking some online courses. I'm taking two at the moment, so, while I'm not currently teaching as it's summer break, basically all my time is going into doing those and not writing.
BUT!
My courses end on the 9th and then I go camping until the 12th SO assuming I don't have time around finishing my coursework in the next week and a half, I will have LOADS of time to get writing done once my courses end. Also assuming the weather stays decent and I don't get any or many heat induced migraines.
But anyway. Just wanted to keep you updated that the update is coming and (fingers crossed if everything goes smoothly!) should be updated by mid August. I literally only have like four more scenes to write for it and then it's done. Scenes that I can't move to after the chapter, unfortunately, or I might've just posted what I've got.
But yeah! It's coming! The speed depends on how long my last few assignments take but will hopefully be soon!

all of the asks. (ask game)
(you don’t actually have to i partially just thought it would be funny to say this i can pick specific ones if you want but also please do if you want to)
This is hilarious. I will do all of them because why not.
favorite chore: organizing things mostly but sometimes even that sucks, sweeping, or not really a chore--- peeling potatoes
least favorite chore: cleaning anything that's sticky/slimy/etc
aquarium, planetarium, museum, or zoo: it really depends on the kind. The aquarium in my town has a really big otter enclosure, so I love that. I really really like planetariums and museums but don't go enough.
favorite kind of museum: The ones that are pretty much people's houses turned into museums especially big old fancy houses with old artifacts. I do love a good art museum of course too.
cooking or baking (and your favorite thing to cook or bake): baking and apple crisp. It has peeling, cutting, etc.
favorite thing in your room: My bookshelf or all of the quotes stuck up on my wall.
favorite class you’ve ever taken: I haven't gotten much variety yet. I really like choir, Spanish, and English though.
what kinds of clothes do you typically wear?: tshirts, jeans, overalls, sweaters, really anything but if you see it it makes sense.
favorite way to be creative (can be anything: playlists, outfits, drawing, writing, decorating cookies, anything.): WRITING but I actually kind of have done a lot. I paint some. I make cool outfits. I actually painted a bunch of jean jackets last summer while listening to the FLF audiobook. I might do that again.
are you superstitious?: Yes and no. I am in the ways that I think are funny like sayings and jokes and having a "lucky necklace." I used to be more so.
favorite article of clothing you own: It's either this gray sweater I found thrifting, my Evermore sweatshirt, or my best jean jacket.
favorite way to carry things (pockets, purse, backpack, etc): I apologize in advance for the rant this will cause. I want to say pockets, but I can not because WOMEN'S PANTS POCKETS FIT NOTHING. I also have to carry an Epipen which can't even fit in men's pants pockets so a purse. I like satchel like purses that can fit a book.
what things do you usually have on you when you leave the house?: As stated before my Epipen, my phone which has my wallet stuff in it, a purse, a book, headphones, chapstick, some cash, etc.
favorite errand: grocery shopping or essential other things
dream job: a librarian who writes books in her spare time (with a dog and a cat <3)
favorite thing get when going out to eat: a burger or spaghetti usually
when did you lose your first tooth?: first tooth lost was pulled by the dentist, and I didn't know what was going on. It was HORRIBLE. I have gotten many pulled actually. First "naturally" lost was because my friend's friend hit my chin with her knee while we lifted her in the air at recess. I lost it in Spanish class a few days later.
any childhood memory you want to share:
do you like camping?: Yes, but mostly because I was taken a lot as a kid.
have you ever gone to summer camp and did you enjoy it?: I went to girl scout summer camp but family camp, so my mom was there. It was fine.
favorite place to write things: At a table anywhere without too much distractions
lucky number(s): 4, 7, 13, 14, 16
favorite place you’ve traveled to: Canada probably or just somewhere camping
place you want to travel to: Broadway or London or the Netherlands (to meet an old online friend)

something you’re proud of: all the progress I have made
do you have any pets?: I had a bunny as a little girl. I loved her. I had a dog, but she died two months (ish) ago. I miss her.
do you want any pets that you don’t have?: I want to have a dog again someday. I also will probably have a cat someday. (If I could get an orange cat, I would name it Kell.)

I like him-a NoCo fanfic: pt 1
Cody's pov:
I saw a mysterious island coming into view. My fingernails started aching from my nervous teeth chattering. When the boat finally docked I saw a group of people; they were all different heights and colors. A man- no older than 40 with a stubble from ear to ear and creases at the edges of his eyes offered me his hand. Although my hand was soggy with sweat being the fairly polite person I am I shook it and grinned. All of a sudden I noticed how big and tall everyone else was compared to me. My mother used to tell me that my scrawny body, pale skin, and curious blue eyes were cute. I thought it made me look dumb and weak. As I shuffled towards the other competitors I scanned to find anyone who might be my friend. There was this moonlight pale girl with black and teal hair. Her hair looked kinda like she cut it herself- not in a bad way of course. Dressed head to toe in Gothic clothing, standing award and alone- she was kinda hot. I thought she might be nice so I shot her one of my trademark grins but she just glared and moved away."cold" I thought to myself. During this time some newcomers had arrived.I kept scanning the growing crowd but no-one reacted. One particularly tall vile looking girl dressed in a beige reddish crop top and olive short shorts with dark silver hair to match her eyes looked as if she would kill me right then and there. And then I saw him. He wasn't much taller than me and he had deep chocolaty eyes, bronzed skin, and dark hair that fell hut above his shoulders with a fringe parted to the sides- he was literally perfect. I really hoped this show wasn't homophobic because this guy, this guy, this guy stole my heart and wouldn't be giving it back any time soon.attempting to approach him I hoped I wouldn't make a bad impression. Never mind approaching him- I was glued to the spot. Just as the chocolate eyed boys glance was turning to me I was bushed over by some tall dude. He had tanned skin and must've been over 2 meters tall. He introduced himself as DJ and helped me up. Stumbling all over his words to apologize I could tell he was really sorry. The smiley stubbled guy told us that his name was Chris McLean and that we'd be staying at a crappy summer camp called camp wawanakwa. I knew that Chris guy was too friendly-online it said we'd be staying at a 5 star hotel. Gothball girl stepped up and told him that he didn't sign up for this. Chris grew a slay smile and said calmly "yes, you did" while he pulled out a contract. She took the contract, ripped it in half, and threw it intake the lake. " the great thing about layers is that they make heaps of copy's" Chis said as he pulled out several more copy. She looked mortified as she read it and moved to the back of the group. He said some more crap but I wasn't listening because I was still staring at the dreamboat boy trying to keep is hair tucked behind his cute ears. Soon as I knew it I had a team. We were dubbed "The screaming golfers" I observed that we had goth-ball and vile girl on our team as well as...him.
