On February 14, people all over the world come together in solidarity to raise awareness and show support for One Billion Rising. One Billion Rising is the biggest, mass action with the aim of ending violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence), in human history.

Webster Leiden Campus has partnered up with The Bridge2Hope for the past few years in hosting a flash mob on this day. The Bridge2Hope is a research and intervention based program aimed at the treatment and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking. They work with undocumented victims within the Amsterdam area and serve as an anchor for them, as they rebuild their lives.

We would like to invite you to join us and stand in solidarity against sexual violence. Each year the number of people showing support has increased and we hope to see the same happening this year!

Am 14.02. war nicht nur Valentinstag, sondern auch der weltweite Aktionstag gegen Gewalt an Frauen/Mädchen. Denn in Deutschland wird jede dritte Frau mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben ein Opfer von Gewalt. Unter dem Motto „One Billion Rising“ („eine Milliarde erhebt sich“) befasste sich die Gesundheitsklasse der Berufseinstiegsschule mit dem Thema, gestaltete Plakate und setze mit Sprühkreide ein Zeichen für die Aktion gegen Gewalt.
