Children are much smaller than adults, and they heat up a lot quicker! If their faces start turning pink, get them inside and drink some water!

On a hot day, we can sometimes only safely be out on the playground for 10-15 minutes, even in the shade!

And idk who needs to hear this but if you have a child or you're a caregiver to any children, whether in a personal or professional setting, you should also learn how to recognize heat stroke and heat exhaustion and similar conditions in children because they usually can't tell you if something is wrong.

#prevention is so much easier than dealing with it after they heat up!!!#some kids are more sturdy than otheres #but i have one or two where if they get pink the while class goes inside canary in the coal mine style #one year olds heat up QUICK!!! Even the 2s can safely stay out noticeably longer #but when its hot and humid and sunny it can get too much v quick #some days we just stay inside for the afternoon
