I'm completely heartbroken+devastated at this because like. kuma left before she finished her sentence. he didn't hear her last words. he thought if he left he'd be able to see her one last time. but it was too late. and he didn't hear her last words. he doesn't know her last words were to him to say she loved him 😭

Is anyone else feeling completely wrecked by Ginny's story? I feel wretched every time I think of Kuma's face in any panels in ch1098: his hardened face while Ginny is gone, the hope on his face when she calls, the devastation in the church, the tears in his eyes when Bonney reminds him of Ginny, and the smile he keeps for Bonney's sake.... I am so wrecked.

Oda Just Broke our Hearts in 'One Piece'

I've seen a lot of dark and horrible things in #OnePiece before, but this? This pretty much cements #Kuma's as one of the saddest backstories in the series. I was on the verge of tears by the time I finished the chapter. 5/5. Utter tearjerker!

i never thought Oda would do it, I used to think about it but damn... Anyways here's the recap until we get the full summary:

-the chapter's title is about Bonney's birth, and it's even more fucked up than you think

-Ginny has been kidnapped for two years and Kuma has been searching for her.

-We find out that Ginny has been forced to marry a celestial dragon, and she ends up getting pregnant.

-apparently for some reason she contracts a disease and the same disease affected her fetus and she was discarded by her "husband"

-Kuma finally finds her, she had already gave birth to her child and is on the brink of death.

-she talks to Kuma one last time before she finally dies.

-Kuma takes her baby with him and leaves

-her baby is obviously Bonney. She had been cured of the disease (no mention of how it happened) and she lives with Kuma as her father

-We see both of them growing up together

-King Beckori, the king of Sorbet, is back and is causing absolute havoc in his own country

-Break next week

On a side note, this is just the summary so take it with a little grain of salt, until the full manga or the summary drops we won't be able to know much about what happened

I'm still battling the flu ... but managed to sit upright as I got spoilers of the new one piece chapter 1098... so SPOILERS ahead !!!!

Unlike the game rant website in a recent dumb article speculating that a marine had kidnapped revolutionary officer Ginny, I thought from the beginning that it must have been a Celestial dragon. I WAS RIGHT!!

This is the only explanation for Bonneys recent actions as to stabbing St Saturn... personal vendetta. So yeah get tissues and barf buckets (of needed) because this chapter is heart breaking and sickening.

Prediction based off Chapter 1098

Saturn is the father of Jewelry Bonney and he still has the sapphire STD, which was why he hasn’t seen the surface world in so long and unlike Bonney, he has a late stage form of it that’s impossible to cure.

I also predict that Saturn will actually die by getting a full blast of the sun that turns him into a sapphire statue.

BONUS: Before he dies, he has a villainous breakdown and transforms into his full beast form.

I am a bit confused as to what Ginny's illness was. But it seems like that's the point. Well at least this anime mom disease is less generic.

But I think Kuma may have one of the saddest backstories wtf. He didn't want to marry her because he was afraid she would become a slave, and she became a slave anyways forced to marry a celestial dragon. Not only a slave but a sex slave. Yo wtf...

Oh ok so Bonney is the child of a celestial dragon? Does that mean she's a celestial dragon? And Kuma raised Ginny's child as his own. Ok hold I need a minute, and someone to protect this precious man.

Something is up with Bonney's age tho, we all kinda predicted that tho. But I'm still curious on who Connie is? Seven years ago she was five? IDK I am so confused by the timeline right now, how old Bonney is, and when Kuma became a cyborg and everything.

I'm going to need to do an entire panel by panel analysis there is so much information. First I need to stop crying long enough to see the pages.

So it seems like the trip to Egghead is to figure out a cure? Oh and her face piercing is connected to the illness scars thing?

Also, what's going on with Oda? The chapter isn't finished? Is he ok? He could have taken an extra week, he has before, so whats going on? There's a break next week, so I hope he'll be ok.

So I just caught up with the manga for one piece ( I watched everything that had been animated then read to catch up) and chapter 1098 is my my first weekly release and damn that is the darkest shit I have read/watched in this series. ( Also the fact that this is the first time in its whole 25 year run that Oda couldn’t finish it on time is wild as well. )
