My first short film is an official selection!

This film started as an idea two actor friends sketched out together between auditions, callbacks, second jobs, commuting long hours, and failures. We had zero budget, and no crew but ourselves. My mom let us borrow her home video camera. His cousin let us set up base camp at her apartment, craft services in the kitchen and shoot for an entire weekend. Through problem-solving and strong acting choices, we figured out how to make special effects happen. Then during editing, I allowed the film to speak to me. B-roll footage I had taken out in the Mojave desert during a freak hailstorm was added - music from an experimental rock group out of Australia was mixed in - and this story expanded.

I didn't ever imagine the poster for this film could appear on a billboard in  Times Square, New York City. But it did this week. On the first Tuesday of 2022 - nearly 11 years after this film was made.

For all the times I questioned my creativity and whether I was on track, moments like these remind me to stay true to my vision...

I'm wishing everyone with BIG dreams out there who may be going through a tough period to keep your eyes on the prize - never play it small - and let life surprise you in wonderful ways!
