Me: ...welp, I've gotten Callyn's omni-crafting-and-gathering all the way up to level 70 in everything, which is as high as I can go in the free trial. Time to-

Blue: Buy the game?

Me: No, still too much stuff to do on the free trial, not worth it yet. So it's time to-

Blue: Finish off the last couple post-Heavensward arcs and start Stormblood?

Me: -start making my secondary FFXIV character a fully-leveled omni-crafter-and-gathered!

Blue: Wait-

Me: (pulling up Albert) Secondary omni-crafter-and-gatherer!

Blue: No-!

Me: (heading off to do my Grand Company delivery dailies then start on the Ixal questline for more crafting dailies) Secondary omni-crafter-and-gatherer!!!

Blue: Why are you like this, just play the game-??!

been getting into ff14 alot lately. with other folks this is really fun. my wol idnared (it sounds fantasy enough to me) my currently favoured glams for PLD and RDM

I'm thinking of a "<entity> of the pool, what is your wisdom?" post I saw a few months ago, which had someone foretelling that as soon as people got what they wanted in terms of glams and mounts from Island Sanctuary they'd abandon their island and leave the animals to starve.

My good sophonts, I am an omnicrafter. I can trade cowries for blue and green materia. These beasts and gardens will remain cared for as long as I play FFXIV. Any non-crafters not caring for their island are missing out on the gil fountain that 6.3 will result in, as those like me explode literally hundreds of materia on pentamelded crafting gear.

And no, it won't stop when 7.0 releases, either. Older materia inevitably factors into every pentamelded set, because older materia explodes less than the newest ones, and if we're gonna overcap the stats on a piece of gear, might as well use the stuff we aren't going to need as much of to successfully affix.

It's done. I'm so far behind, but I'm done. I took a loooong FF break, but I'm happy to be back! Now to get some more housing builds done! Lots to come over the coming weeks/months! 3x FC Room builds/rebuilds 3x Apartments 1x Med 1x Small and whatever else comes! <3 I'm going to try to complete at LEAST a build a week. I also have to get my combat jobs leveled up but that wasn't as important to me. I'm happy just crafting and doing housing.

Oh, wait until your omnicrafter friends hear you mention that you like the look of literally any craftable item in the entire game. We're usually filthy rich and like to make things, particularly if we get to see the people wearing the stuff we made.

Roevember Day 9: Trade

Rose's stepmother Aurilda is a weaponsmith by trade, and taught Rose much of the craft before she decided to become an adventurer.

It's a trade that Rose continues to pursue in her spare time, despite no longer needing to rely upon it to stay afloat. The heat of the forge, the rhythmic beating of the hammer, and the sheer focus on turning a hunk of metal into something greater, all help to clear her head when she needs it most.

Junelezen 18: Evening

Dusk originally went to Limsa Lominsa to learn smithing, back at the unexpected beginning of his adventuring career, as Gridania did not have many blacksmiths in general, and he wanted to be able to make his own hardware when he needed it, since that way he could get as fancy as he wanted without having to explain to someone else his vision. He just got sidetracked for a while, as he and Dawn got drafted by H'naanza to clear out wharf rats. She thought they were adventurers ... because they were dressed like adventurers, and Dusk agreed to help before Dawn registered what was happening, and she felt too awkward about it to correct the record. It snowballed from there, and once the Scions got their hooks into him, smithing fell by the wayside.

Still, after the whole Ultima Weapon thing got cleared up and things settled down for a bit, he joined the blacksmithing guild to finally study in earnest, and managed to become quite skilled at it before things went crazy again. He preferred working in the evenings, in part because it gave him an excuse to watch the sunset before starting. He's never really gotten over how pretty they are in Limsa Lominsa, and even now when he's visiting the city-state, he'll stop and watch if he can.
