The start of the skits... Wow, that goes back ten years ago.

Sorry, the tism prevents me from summarizing so it's a bit long-winded.

I'll talk about how I got into rivetra in another post but waaaay back in 2013 or 2014, I read this fanfic about Levi finding out that Petra was pregnant with his child when she died. It ended with him having a dream where he saw he and Petra's child with "her golden eyes and his inky black hair". (RIP Fanfiction.net 🫡. I wish I could find the author to credit them)

So that inspired a fanfic called "The Butterfly Effect" which was basically an OOC drama prototype of the current skits. I had a YouTube channel where I had a Rivetra animated series called Serenade, and a series of Attack on Heathers rivetra animations with Anastasia featured in it, but it never felt like the right medium.

So I think I started the skits because I wanted to tell the Anastasia story that I had been trying to tell for years, but I didn't want to have it be as stressful to make as the animations were...

and then Covid hit lol.

My boyfriend calls Rivetra my "security blanket" because I have my autistic hyperfocus on it whenever I'm scared or stressed. I don't make skits when I'm stressed, but it's a good stress reliever to think of ideas for skits and it makes me so happy to see you all like my little wish fulfillment skits.

my thoughts on the knuckles series! spoilers below

ok so it was really well done, cinematography wise. the cgi was gorgeous and knux was portrayed amazingly. the plot.... was severely lacking. the main plot of "wade needs to win bowling against his asshole dad" should've been the subplot instead of "knuckles is getting kidnapped by GUN agents to sell to exGUN criminal who worked under robotnik", which should have been the main plot. also maddie and tom tracking down knux for escaping being grounded is never brought up. the lore tidbits from the GUN agents and the cute knux moments were honestly not worth signing into my dads Prime Video account to watch Wade trying to joust on a childs bicycle with a katana. the MURICA propaganda was strong, depicting the Asshole Dad covered in british flags, and wade's family is jewish (which i have no problem with, i love diversity and the chance to show off others' cultures) but in light of the palestinian war (and how america is basically funding israel) it feels like a political statement. i was not here for politics, i was here for funny red guy eats grapes. also nearly all the characters smelled of autism (which is nice, i love the inclusion) but i wonder if the writers/directors were projecting a bit. overall, this show was a bit of a disappointment, and focused more on wade than the title character.

I feel the energy becoming a little more flowy. Usually I get tongue-tied and have to follow the script I've already made inside my head (part of having the tism I think) because acting normal takes effort for me. But I dunno, I just feel like I'm being myself and whatever that means and however that's coming out, I feel great about it. Manifested a few small things. Nothing worth mentioning. I'm here. I'm here and it's for something.

Funny you mention people's view points changing. Today SM actually apologised to me about how he acted during his intern year. I didn't expect that. Last year he was always so stubborn and judgey. And then he started talking about how his practise has changed. Once, so black and white and by the book and now, grey. It's like, he's practicing like I do now. Giving less fucks. Lettings things go. I mean that's the normal progression as you go from academia to working full time but no one's ever said it out loud to me like that before. Not with this kind of self-awareness. Also, something just changed between us. It was sooooooooooooooo tense the last few weeks and randomly today we're best buds again. Wtf? And this one, very, very weird moment. Don't think I was imagining it but maybe I was. My intern went to lunch and it was just us. There were no customers for a few minutes. This overwhelming feeling of intense intimacy took over. We were just talking and then, it just suddenly came on. How can I describe it better? It's like once you took away the job at hand, the other people around and all the distractions, there was nothing else to focus on anymore. But each other. Omg ew. It couldn't be helped. It was so, so uncomfortable. It was like falling down a staircase. Thank god bc it got busy again or the phone started ringing or whatever so we could sweep it under the rug.

𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐧 - A song that you remember from your childhood I have a very distinct memory of walking along the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ on vacation with my dad late at night and hearing Bailamos by Enrique Iglesias blaring from the boardwalk speakers. I was 7. Hearing it still makes me feel nostalgic, if a bit sad.

𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 - Do you have any pets? Yes! Currently my two boys (Mao and Yuengling) live with my mom because they're not really well-socialized and we can't get them into carriers lmao. My girls (Azalea and Mango) and my dog (Taxi) live in my house with me and my husband though.

Azalea - 7 yo FS DSH This gremlin was born to an owned outdoor cat on the East Caribbean island of Grenada who had kittens. The momma cat's owners didn't want the kittens, so they gave them to a TNR group to adopt out. Azalea was the last one who hadn't been adopted yet, and she was the runt (she was originally named Arya because she was so tiny lol). She's super codependent and also my emotional support animal / the love of my life. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old 😭

Mango - 1 yo FS DSH This little shit was found on the city streets at about 4 weeks old without a mom or littermates, so she was dropped off at the shelter where I work. I wanted a friend for Taxi since Azalea hates him, so I brought the little 1 lb kitten home. She's got diagnosed with the kitty-tism, which makes for some very interesting interactions between her and Azalea (read: fights where Azalea is big mad but Mango thinks they're having fun). She also shares a single braincell with Taxi.

Taxi - 3 yo MN Chihuahua Yorkie Poodle Pomeranian Shih Tzu thing This absolute fucking goober was relinquished to the shelter due to a broken leg that the owners couldn't afford to fix. He spent about 2 months in a crate with a splint in an attempt to let it heal on its own. It didn't. So then I offered to foster him until the day of his leg amputation. Unfortunately, my husband fell in love with him, and now his is our sad pathetic son who has sleept between us under the covers every night for the last 2 years.

Mao - 7 yo MN Siamese This gremlin was a feral cat in Grenada too. A student at the university noticed that he had blood and pus coming from his mouth, so we took him to the clinic and found out that he has shit dental genetics and needed all of his teeth removed. We obviously couldn't release a feral cat with no teeth back into the "wild," so I took him home. I've had him for 6 years now 🤗

Yuengling - 10 MC DSH This goober has big orange cat energy. He was hit by a car as a kitten and had his leg amputated. He then went into foster care and stayed there for SEVEN YEARS before I adopted him. Now he hobbles around my mom's house yodelling all day.
