On vacation | Lake Como, Italy | May 17, 2024
Olympus 'OM-D E-M10 Mark IV' - $699.99 (starting)
It’s a bit of a running joke that you can recognize a Taylor photo by the presence of a yellow-tinged filter. The filter itself is the ‘Vintage Art Filter 1’ (alternately: ‘Fuckass Filter’) that comes as an automatic option within the physical camera body of her Olympus series camera. Taylor has carried an Olympus camera to snap personal photos for years (dating as far back as 2015).
Previously, Taylor’s Olympus was black and silver but from photos of her snapping photos with her camera on a boat in Lake Como it appears she’s updated the body to an all black style.

if you don't mind, could you give a run down on your camera/equipment for photographing games? I want to get more into it, but there's an overwhelming number of options
I put off answering this all day bc I'm so embarrassed to be seen as a Google Pixel user on main, but DEEPLY unfortunately all my digital photos are taken with a Google Pixel 7 Pro. The camera on this thing is insane though, it's literally the only reason I got it.
If you're asking about the film photography, it's an Olympus OM-1 from the 1970s that I barely know how to use and I use Kodak Portra 800 for color and Ilford HP5 Plus 400 for black and white. Don't use anything less than 400, I shot a Sharks practice with a Fujifilm 200 and literally three photos turned out, it was awful.
And zero flash for any of it because that really scares the aquarium!!
None of the professional sports venues I've been to the USA will allow a DSLR or SLR though, so if you're in the United States hoping to shoot in a professional arena definitely look at like...compact cameras....mirrorless cameras that can be easily disguised as compact...etc. if I had one iota more self-control I'd stop blowing money on jerseys of flop AHL fourth liners and save up for a OM-D E-M10 Mark IV because it is apparently very very good with image stabilization, which if you're shooting in weird light with fast-moving subjects is ideal. I've seen people with those inside Cuda games. Obviously SLR/DSLR not an issue if you're just photographing like your friend's boyfriend's beer league games (<- I do this) but if you're looking to take a camera into a professional venue as a fan, definitely consider compact or something really easily disguisable as a compact bc security will be kinder to you lol.
I know this is all really unhelpful 😭 sorry for being a Pixel user on purpose 😭

The five best cameras for beginner photography (2021)
This morning, we will review the top five best cameras of 2021 for photography.
Nikon D3500
The Nikon D3500 boasts a 24 megapixel for sharp, high-quality images. It sports an AF-P fracking kit to focus quickly in live view without on-sensor phase detection autofocus. Additionally, it handles well & it is easy for a beginner photographer to use.
Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV
The Olympus OM-D E-10 Mark IV camera has a 20-megapixel sensor with incrementally improved 4K resolution as the standard.
Fujifilm X-T200
The Fujifilm has a light & compact, but 35MM SLR (single-lens reflex) camera, with a 3.5 inch vari-angle 1:6 ratio to suit it perfectly for videos. It sports an electronic viewfinder with the ability to capture 4K videos & 24MP stills. The 15-45MM kit lens is electronically powered & takes up much less space than a regular kit lens as well as offering a wider angle of view than most, making it ideal for interior shots & big landmarks. A large touchscreen helps smartphone upgraders feel right at home. If this camera is too expensive for you, the X-A7 camera is a cheaper alternative, but you sacrifice the electronic viewfinder.
FujiFilm X-S10
The Fujifilm X-S10 has an excellent finish, build quality & handling with in-body stabilization & a vari-angle rear screen.
Nikon Z5
The Nikon Z5 sports twin card slots & a 4K UHD video.
If this post provided value, be sure to share, comment, like, reblog & save the post.

But in a world filled with DSLR cameras, why choose mirrorless? “Mirrorless cameras have overtaken DSLR cameras and won't be giving up that lead,” explains Anshel Sag, principal analyst and Moor Insight and Strategies. “Mirrorless cameras are where most of the innovation in camera sensors is happening today. The best image quality is still happening with mirrorless cameras because they have the best sensors and the best lenses. The high-end of the market is now all mirrorless, whether you're looking at Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Panasonic or Sony.”
After testing and research, we’ve selected the best mirrorless cameras you can buy today, with picks for amateur, enthusiast and pro photographers. We focused on models with impressive functionality and prices less than $3,000 for the camera body only unless otherwise noted. (High-end professional mirrorless camera bodies cost upwards of $6,000, and unless you have very, very specific needs, it’s really unlikely you would benefit from a camera priced that high into the stratosphere.) Our best mirrorless camera overall, the Sony a7 IV, is incredibly versatile for both stills and video, and has appeal across a wide swath of users.
Best Mirrorless Camera Overall: Sony a7 IV
Best Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera For Beginners: Nikon Z5
Best APS-C Mirrorless Camera For Beginners: Canon EOS R10
Best Compact Mirrorless Camera: Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV

EDITOR’S PICK
Sony a7 IV
AMAZON
Sony a7 IV (Body Only)
$2498
Buy From Amazon
Sensor size: Full-frame | Image resolution: 33 megapixels| Video resolution: 4K at 60 fps, 1080p at 120 fps | Display: 3-inch free-angle tilting touchscreen | Max autofocus points: 759 | Memory card slots: CFexpress Type A/SD; SDXC UHS-II | Built-in flash: No | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 10 fps for 828 frames RAW/unlimited JPEGs
Best for: Excellent still and video performance.
The Sony a7 IV is a well-designed mirrorless camera with tremendous still and video shooting abilities. It offers fast, advanced autofocus performance with eye-tracking, even when capturing video at 4K 60 fps. Whether you’re shooting outside on a bright and sunny day or in low-light conditions, this camera delivers impressive results. The a7 IV relies on its Sony Bionz XR engine to handle high-speed image processing. The camera’s internal electronics shine in its continuous shooting modes: It captures at up to 10 frames per second less than competitors, but with a larger sustained capture rate for 828 frames in RAW and unlimited JPEGs. It also has advanced autofocus tracking—including eye-tracking—performance, with a maximum of 759 autofocus points.
The a7 IV can also be used for vlogging, since the display flips out and rotates, so it can be pointed forwards; however, when paired with a lens this camera body would be heavy to handhold, so it would be best used on a tripod. The camera has an HDMI-A and USB Type-C port, a headphone jack and external microphone port. You also get wired, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to your computer or mobile device. Buy the a7 IV with a 28 - 70mm lens for $200 more.
Pros:
High-resolution video capabilities
Long sustained burst mode
Strong on-board connectivity
Cons:
Fewer frames per second than competitors
Lower resolution rear display for the price
Honorable Mention: Formidable Camera With Great Autofocus
Canon EOS R6
AMAZON
Canon EOS R6 (Body Only)
$2499
Buy From Amazon
Sensor size: Full-frame | Image resolution: 20 megapixels | Video resolution: 4K at 60 fps, 1080p at 120 fps | Display: 3-inch free-angle tilting touchscreen | Autofocus points: 1,053 | Memory card slots: 2x SDXC UHS-II | Built-in flash: No | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 20 fps for up to 240 frames RAW/1,000 frames JPEG
Best for: Capturing dynamic action in stills and videos.
The Canon EOS R6 is a capable shooter in a wide range of situations, and it excels at photographing action thanks to its fast burst mode, large buffer and eye-tracking autofocus. The electronic shutter can fire off 20 frames per second for up to 1,000 JPEGs and 240 RAW files. The camera’s updated Digic X processor and Dual Pixel CMOS AD II powers 1,053 selectable focusing points covering 100% of the frame-meaning you can focus on anything in frame with ease.
The R6 shoots 4K resolution video at up to 60 fps or 1080p resolution at up to 120 fps (which is great for slow motion footage). It has a 3.5mm headphone port and separate 3.5mm external microphone port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, and dual SDXC memory card slots. The rear display can be flipped to face forward for vlogging. The R6 uses Canon’s RF-mount lenses, but you can use a $100 adapter and use your existing Canon EF lenses with the R6 as well.
Pros:
Excellent, fast autofocus with eye-tracking
Great for shooting action
Good in low light situations
Cons:
Still image resolution lower than competitors

Nikon Z5 Camera Body
AMAZON
Nikon Z5 (Body Only)
$1297
Buy From Amazon
Sensor size: Full-frame | Image resolution: 24.3 megapixels | Video resolution: 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps | Display: 3.2-inch tilting touchscreen | Autofocus: 273 | Memory card slots: 2× SDXC UHS-II | Built-in flash: No | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 4.5 fps
Best for: Entering full-frame photography without denting your wallet.
The Nikon Z5 is a great choice for those with a tighter budget who want to graduate to a full-frame mirrorless camera. This model is ideal for beginners and enthusiasts alike, between its price and strong feature set. The camera also shoots video at 4K video at 30fps, as opposed to 60fps like some more pricey competitors. The camera body is durable and weather-sealed—an unusual find at this price—so it can be used in a variety of shooting situations.
The overall performance are good for an entry-level camera, The biggest drawback to this camera is its slow continuous shooting speed—just 4.5 fps—making it a poor choice for capturing sports, for example. And its rear display merely tilts, limiting the creative angles you can achieve.
Pros:
Weather-sealed body
Great selection of optional lenses
Cons:
Display only tilts
Slow continuous shooting rate
Best APS-C Mirrorless Camera For Beginners
Advanced Autofocus And Strong Features At A Low Cost
Canon EOS R10 (Body Only)
AMAZON
Canon EOS R10 (Body Only)
$979 - $1029
Buy From Amazon
Sensor size: APS-C, 1.6x crop | Image resolution: 24.2 megapixels | Video resolution: 4K at 60 fps, 1080p at 120 fps | Display: 3-inch free-angle tilting touchscreen | Autofocus points: 651 | Memory card slots: SDXC UHS-II | Built-in flash: Yes | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 23 fps for up to 21 frames RAW/70 frames JPEG
Best For: Upping your photography game with a wide range of lens support.
The Canon EOS R10 offers a rather compact design and impressive resolution whether you’re shooting still images or video. While you can buy the body alone, it currently goes in and out of stock; via the same link Amazon also sells this camera bundled with your choice of an 18-150mm RF-S ($1,379) or 18-45mm RF-S ($1,099) Canon lens. The R10 supports a wide range of lens mounts, including Canon’s EF and EF-S mount with a $100 adapter.
This model is surprisingly fast, with good support for shooting fast-moving subjects, but only for short bursts given its internal components and more limited buffer (look to this model big sibling the Canon R6 to see how a similar frames per second rating which can last for longer sustained bursts due to the camera’s electronics—and corresponding higher price). This camera offers the versatility and functionality you’d expect from a more expensive mirrorless camera. It can automatically detect people, animals and vehicles across 651 autofocus zones, for example, and handles 4K video capture at 60 frames per second. In line with its lower-tier pricing, the R70 lacks a weather-sealed body and image stabilization is video-only. But it does support microphone input for using an external microphone.
Pros:
Subject-specific recognition
Impressive burst shooting mode
Support for a wide range of lenses
Cons:
Camera body not weather sealed
Best Compact Mirrorless Camera
So Compact, It Almost Fits In Your Pocket
B&H PHOTO
Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV (Body Only)
$800
Buy From B&H Photo
Sensor size: Four Thirds, 2x crop | Image resolution: 20.3 megapixels | Video resolution: 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 120 fps | Display: 3-inch 180-degree tilting touchscreen | Autofocus points: 121 | Memory card slots: SDXC UHS-II | Built-in flash: Yes | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 15 fps for up to 42 frames RAW/49 frames JPEG
Best for: Beginners looking for something small and affordable.
This Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is more compact than many models, especially with its relatively flat 14-32 mm Micro Four Thirds-mount lens (sold as a bundle for just $100 more). While this mirrorless camera offers a lower price than most, its modest specs reflect its role as an entry-level model with not a lot of room to grow as your photography skills improve. For example, it has just 121 autofocus points using a contrast-detection autofocus system, so you may discover it spending a bit of extra time trying to fine-tune the focus on your intended subject. This model also lacks a 3.5mm microphone jack. It does have in-body 5-axis sensor shift image stabilization.
The rear display flips down and rotates 180-degrees, so you can use it for shooting selfie video, but if you use this option, the display might be blocked by the selfie stick or tripod you’re using, which is a noticeable design flaw. The camera body includes image stabilization, as well as integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Pros:
Affordable price
Good starter camera
Built-in flash
Cons:
Still image resolution could be higher
Burst shooting mode is slow
Not great for action photography
Best Mirrorless Camera For Vlogging
Perfect For Vloggers And YouTubers
Sony ZV-E10 (with 16-55mm Lens)
AMAZON
Sony Alpha ZV-E10 (Body Only)
$698
Buy From Amazon
Sensor size: APS-C, 1.5x crop | Image resolution: 24.2 megapixels | Video resolution: 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 120 fps | Display: 3-inch side flip-out articulating touchscreen | Autofocus points: 425 | Memory card slots: SDXC UHS-I | Built-in flash: No | Maximum continuous shooting rate: 11 fps for 46 frames RAW/116 frames JPEG
Best for: Vloggers, YouTubers and people shooting video for social media.
The Sony Alpha ZV-E10 is a great choice for vloggers and content creators because of its light weight, compact size and adjustable touchscreen display. It captures still images at 24.2 megapixels, and can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second, and 1080p video at up to 120 frames per second—typical for a camera at this price. It is also sold bundled with a powered 16-50mm lens for $100 more, handy so you can use a lever on the body to adjust the lens’ focal length (an uncommon feature on mirrorless cameras). The camera’s autofocus can track objects, faces and even lock into human eyes—all features vloggers can appreciate.
The rear display/viewfinder flips to the side and rotates 180-degrees, making this model especially conducive for vloggers. Sony also sells a wireless handgrip/tripod combo, but it costs an extra $139. The camera has an external microphone input, though you may find one unnecessary: Its oversized internal microphone works surprisingly well and comes with a wind shield. The camera works for livestreams as well, yet one more feature which makes it a great upgrade for producing social media content.
Pros:
Compact design
Adjustable touchscreen display
Well-suited for vlogging, live streaming and still imaging
Cons:
Image stabilization works for video only
What Is A Mirrorless Camera?
Best Mirrorless Cameras for 2022
The Sony ZV-E10 is a versatile and compact[+]SONY
A mirrorless camera turns the traditional world of digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLRs) on its head. These cameras rely on a digital imaging sensor instead of the movable mirror and pentaprism found in DSLRs to capture images.
Since these cameras have no mirror mechanism, the latest mirror cameras from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony and others tend to be smaller and lighter than their DSLR counterparts. Their imaging sensors can come in a variety of sizes—typically referred to as full frame, APS-C (which is smaller than full frame sensors) and Four Thirds.
Beyond the camera, how much you spend on lenses will vary greatly, based on the lens manufacturer, type of lens and a lens’ optics and aperture. The better the lens, the better your photos or videos and the more creative flexibility you can have when capturing content.

Edris Akseer fled Afghanistan last summer with his family and two of his brothers after the Taliban takeover. Arriving eventually in Louisville, Ky., he took a job on the refrigerator production line at GE Appliances’ factory there this March.
Soon, Akseer, who has a degree from Kabul University and had previously worked as a translator for the U.S. Army, became the go-to person for other Afghans at the plant. “The team leaders and supervisors always ask for my help, and whenever people from Afghanistan have problems communicating they always ask for my help,” says Akseer, 30, who had also helped found an institute in Afghanistan to teach boys and girls English, computer programming and other subjects.

When you get too close to the edge of your play area, your Quest displays the Guardian boundary to keep you from running into a wall. But seeing that grid appear too often ruins the sense of immersion within your VR experience. ProxiMat offers a better solution. It’s a floor mat that delivers tactile feedback to keep you within the play area.
The anti-fatigue foam helps you feel where you are in the room. It’s also much more comfortable than playing on a hardwood floor. Plus, it offers a pair of raised buttons to help you orient yourself using your feet. Proximat offers several versions of its mat. In addition to this 35-inch diameter model, you can get a smaller “travel” version or a wide, dog bone-shaped pad designed for fitness games, like Supernatural and Beat Saber.

Not everyone loves the audio built into the Oculus Quest 2. The speakers are weak and sound thin. In fact, almost any pair of headphones you plug into the VR headset’s audio jack will sound better. But external headphones are clumsy and are not too comfortable when you’re already wearing a VR headset.
There’s a much better option in Logitech’s aluminum-clad G333 VR gaming earphones. They’re optimized specifically for the Quest 2. Not only do these earphones sound great, but thanks to the silicone-tipped earbuds, they help isolate you by blocking outside sounds and ambient noise. Their best feature, however, is that the wires for the left and right ear are ideal lengths to reach each side, so you don’t have to contend with a lot of extra cabling getting in your way.

Perhaps the Quest 2’s most compelling feature is that you can use it both as a standalone all-in-one VR headset, but also connect it to a Windows PC to play PC VR games originally intended for other headsets, like the HTC Vive. All you need is a long Oculus Link-compatible USB cable. Well, you don’t get more compatible than Oculus’s own official cable. This 16-foot cable has a fiber optic core. It offers the bandwidth to play any PC VR game with your Quest 2 headset. That said, this cable requires a USB-C connection on your computer (it doesn’t come with a USB-A adapter). Unfortunately, it’s pretty expensive as well, but the added gaming experiences it allows are worth it.

Here’s an antidote: AMVR’s Touch Controller Grip Covers wrap around your controllers and provides a grippy, textured sleeve made of TPU plastic.

Anker’s Charging Dock for the Quest 2 is more than it appears. Yes, it’s a cool-looking stand that holds your headset and controllers. In addition, it automatically charges your headset, so your Quest 2 is always topped off and ready for action. Best of all, it also charges your controllers.

Mirrorless Camera
There are lots of things to think about when choosing a mirrorless camera. Do you want to shoot stills or video or both? Almost all the cameras in our list can shoot 4K video, but some have in-body stabilization for smoother footage, professional 'log' modes for color grading and higher frame rates or capture quality.
  • Micro Four Thirds is the smallest sensor format, but the image quality is surprisingly close to that of larger APS-C cameras. The Panasonic Lumix G100 is designed specifically for novice vloggers but is also a great stills camera, while the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is one of our favorite small cameras.
•  Medium format cameras have sensors even larger than full frame. They're generally for slightly more specialist applications where you really need the pixels, and while they were once prohibitively expensive,
How mirrorless body work?
As the name suggests, mirrorless cameras capture images without the use of a mirror in the camera body. This is different from DSLR cameras, which reflect images into viewfinders via mirrors. Instead, mirrorless cameras often use electronic viewfinders (EVF) to display images digitally
    Touchscreen live view
The ability to switch seamlessly from viewfinder to live view on the OLED or LCD screen is a draw for many photographers. Some models even allow you to autofocus by simply touching the screen. Continuous live view is perfect for shooting at tricky angles without needing to raise the camera to your eye, and it’s great for shooting video. Many creatives choose to use their mirrorless as a video camera for this reason.
Mirrorless Vs Dslar
·        DSLR cameras have a reflex mirror inside them, which bounces light up into the optical viewfinder.
·        In mirrorless cameras, light goes directly into the image sensor. Viewfinders on mirrorless cameras are electronic and show the same preview of the image that you'd see on the LCD screen.
·        Also, mirrorless cameras are lightened in weight as compared to dslar because as the name suggests there is no prism in it.
·        And, if we see there’s a huge price difference between Mirrorless and Dslar. As, mirrorless are do more cost then Dslar.

EDITOR’S PICK

Cons:

GE Appliances is working to hire 1,000 people at its Louisville factories by 2023. Its secret weapon in a competitive job market: A recent program to hire Afghan refugees, immigrants and others for whom English is a second language.

GE Appliances' Edris Akseer (center), an Afghan refugee who came to the U.S. following the Taliban takeover, now helps the firm hire and train other Afghan refugees, like Waridullah (left) and Mohammadullah Zayarmal, at its Louisville, Ky., plant.

The 5 Best Cameras In 2021 For Every Kind Of Photographer And Vlogger
It’s a continuous debate among people that which camera brand is best. But trust me, most photographers believe that the best camera is the one you have got with you when you require it most. For most people, their smartphone is their companion when it comes to carrying a camera in their pocket. But there are a variety of reasons you need a camera. From the requirement for good picture quality to advanced control to the efficiency of capturing actions.
In photography, previously, photographers never had better or more choices. For newbies or casual photographers, instant cameras are the right fit. These cameras allow you to set digital aside and sense a little of the Polaroid craze. There are point & shoot models that enhance picture quality without pushing you to thoroughly understand the intricacies of exposure control. However, DSLR cameras are still what traditionalists turn to. But now, mirrorless cameras give many benefits in the single-lens reflex camera with a smaller and lighter body. Furthermore, also don’t forget the action cameras. You can use them to capture all your crazy activities like riding a bike, flying a drone, and even skydiving.
Tumblr media
With lots of variety, you are surely going to require some help choosing the best camera that fits your lifestyle and photography requirements. We’ve picked up the 5 best cameras that you can buy.
1.  Polaroid Originals OneStep+ Instant Camera
It’s one of the best InstantCameras.
You can now shoot a film on instant cameras that build more-or-less instantly rather than writing to a memory chip. The OneStep+ instant camera seems like it popped out of a time portal from the year 1977. But it has the latest flourishes too. If you pair the Polaroid Originals OneStep+ to your phone through Bluetooth, you can utilize your smartphone as a remote trigger and paint with light with great exposures. Also, you can perform double exposures,
But ultimately, it is a simple point-and-shoot camera that comes with a large red shutter button. And it comes with two modes: closeup and portrait photography, along with the standard shooting range lying between three feet to infinity. There are so many instant cameras available in the market, but we’re certainly partial to OneStep+ for its big 3-inch-square prints.
2.    Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera
The Nikon Z50 mirrorless camera captures 20.9 MP images on the small APS-C sensor. It comes in a small body that perfectly fits in your hands. It has the efficiency to shoot a superfast 11fps and can shoot a full 4K video. This mirrorless camera has a big, articulating 3.2-inches monitor (touchscreen) in order to enhance an electronic viewfinder. This camera can utilize any lens from Nikon’s Z-series, and this specific edition packs two kit lenses, a deep 50-250mm lens and a wide-angle 16-50mm. There’s sufficient here to take any newbie well into advanced photography before sensing the requirement to upgrade.
3.  Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV
The Mark IV comes with the latest 20MP sensor and increased in-body image stabilization. Plus, it also has the latest flip-down and tiltable monitor. The new Mark IV is the best model yet of a camera model that we’ve been fantasizing about for ages. It retains the attractive style and the 4K video, which made it so appealing to users. The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV has become a new favorite for people who are looking for an entry-level camera that can do almost everything. The Mark IV is one of the best pint-sized cameras ever. However, it’s a bit expensive camera for beginners, but it is an excellent small camera that’s more powerful than it seems to be.
Tumblr media
4.  Fujifilm X-T200
The Fujifilm X-T200 camera is compact and light-weighted. However, it looks and feels like I’m holding an old-school 35mm SLR camera. Well, the best part is that it includes a large 3.5-inch Vari-angle touchscreen. Considerably, this camera comes with twice the resolution of most competitors and includes a 1:6 aspect ratio ideally suited to video. The Fujifilm X-T200 also incorporates an electronic viewfinder and can record 4K video as well as 24 MP images. It is ideal for interior and big landmark shots as it has a 15-45mm kit lens.  The 15-45mm kit lens is electrically powered and takes very less amount of space than a regular kit lens. Plus, it also offers a wider angle than most cameras out there. Well, if you don’t require an electronic viewfinder, then you should pick X-A7, which is cheaper but comes with similar features.
5.  Canon EOS 90D
This camera is an impressive APS-C workhorse, which combines the highest resolution and high-speed frame rate of 10fps. It also handles uncropped 4K video. The EOS 90D is a handy camera, and its ergonomics are real fun. It’s available for a welcome enthusiast cost, and no need to mention that you’ll find an optical viewfinder. But many people still stick to the electronic viewfinders on mirrorless cameras.
