i would think tony and scott’s costumes would be switched for challengers , if we were to put fitz as one he gives off patrick vibes while jake seems more like art ?

OK so I actually think Jake is Patrick

if you look at their roles on the show.

even the way Tashi is supposed to coach Art is how Olivia coaches Fitz

Art is kind of in an ivory tower (despite him being more aware than they think) and Fitz was meant to be in an ivory tower about Olivia

Outside of her own parents, nobody reads Olivia like Jake (except for maybe Cyrus) because he's supposed to see her for who she is including the things that are less desirable, which is very much what was meant to happen with Patrick and Tashi

and they're supposed to have a particular kind of passion, which is also like Patrick and Tashi

So, there might be push back against the choices but I think they work.

I feel like I watch shows where the writers change before the last season or something (or the last season of a character’s arc) and then totally switch gears and torpedo their way through to an ending that doesn’t even jive with what was coming together ORGANICALLY in previous season(s).

I saw it with Olivia/Jake, now w Roy/Keeley, don’t get me started on Stelena, and so many others (Rogan, at least for the finale). I wasn’t lying when I say I’d ship your NOTPs out of kindness to ensure their destruction

I’m rewatching Scandal (I guess I don’t have enough political chaos in my life?), and it’s hitting me that the show really kicks into gear when Eli and Jake join in Season 2. I like Season 1, but I’m ready for those characters and what they bring — B613! Olake! — to the show.
