something frustrating that can be difficult to put into words about current discourse around “female characters” is the way it’s either “#girlboss it was so hot when she murdered all those babies” or “this flawed & traumatized teenager is irredeemable because she was kinda mean once.” like idk there has to be a level where I can say “I really find this character fascinating she’s one of my favorites even but I found her actions while in character & compelling for the story upsetting on a personal level.” like this is also just an issue in general where we can’t ever get MAD at our faves without it coming across like hate (when for me an interesting character is usually a frustrating character so if I’m not getting mad are they even my fave) but I feel the whole “girlboss” thing can really strip stories of nuance & meaning because it’s like … sometimes no that wasn’t hot & girlboss it was just fucked. like ily girl but you’re actually so fucked up for what you just did

39. What’s something you want to see in the future of gaming?

Def can’t wait to see VR games finally achieve their potential! I think we’re probably like 10-15 years plus 5-10 innovations away from VR getting to where I dream it will be, but I’m certain we’ll get there in my lifetime 😤 I’m not even remotely an expert on these things, but I feel like given how incredibly realistic we can make games look now, the biggest frontier in gaming now is going to be immersion and verisimilitude. One aspect of that is going to be AI programming and you can already see various developers toss their hat in that ring with things like giving NPCs set schedules. Soon I’m sure some big studio will finally iron out how to procedurally generate reactive NPC schedules so that their daily patterns are less recognizable and can pass as facsimiles of people with actual lives. We will actually be able to go into every single building that we see. I’m sure all that will happen within the decade, maximum (( so long as the industry doesn’t implode before then 😬 )). After that I think it’ll be more or less just waiting for some technological innovation to make VR more commonplace, with some changes to prevent motion sickness and needing like a wide open space to safely play lmao.

And by that point capitalism should have taken us to a place where VR is nigh on required like phones are now, constantly bombarding us with advertisements tailored to our lifestyle via constant surveillance, and we’ll probably be using gacha pulls to decide what we’re allowed to eat that day. But games will be awesome! Though they’ll be so expansive and realistic that you have to pay a subscription service bc the game “has” to be constantly online, and it will probably cost about as much as rent so you can avoid the reality of paying $5000 to live in one half of a bunk bed in a pod-based apartment complex.

But yeah VR could be cool

i can only write chronologically. by that i mean in the order the fic will be read. i've tried writing the middle or end before the beginning, but it didn’t click with me.

most of my works were written while i’m travelling. i love being alone for long train/bus rides because it’s the perfect pause to retreat to my inner world.

i started reading fanfics on wattpad in 2013. i don’t remember how i found reader inserts, but it’s wattpad. so… :P

i draw! it’s not great, but it’s something. now i just got to dip my toes into music production (e.g. lo-fi, instrumentals) and then i can take the first step to be the triple threat younger me always wanted to be for storytelling.

i started a tumblr in… early 2010s? unfortunately, i deactivated that account, which would have been an amazing time capsule. i wasn’t thinking much when i let it go.
