1.unseelie , it’s part of a duology and I loved 🥰 that it was written by an autistic author ✍️ ivelisse housman and featured an enemies to lovers between raze and unseelie and found family and an autistic Fae protagonist as I’m autistic and it’s a fantastic book 📖.

2. the secret 🤫 of service of tea and treason by India 🇮🇳 holton , a autistic author ✍️ and it is part of a trilogy about autistic witches , spies 🕵️‍♀️ and witches in a magical 🧙‍♀️ Victorian world 🌎 and has an enemies to lovers romance 🥰 between Alice and Daniel and it’s an phenomenal book 📖.

3. a duel with the vampire 🧛‍♀️ lord by Elise kova and it is amazing 🤩 book 📖 with the found family trope and an enemies to lovers romance 🥰 between Floriane and Ruvan and it’s an amazing 🤩 book 📖 and a retelling of snow ❄️ white.

4. a taste 👅 of poison ☠️ by tessonja odette is an excellent book 📖 and a wonderful book 📖 featuring Fae in a beautiful 🤩 magical 🧙‍♀️ Victorian inspired world 🌎.

5. court of dragons 🐉 by frost Kay and it’s an epic fantasy romance 🥰 and it’s part of a trilogy and has dragons 🐉, romance 🥰 and elves 🧝‍♀️ and badass ladies .

6. Midnight 🕛 in everwood by m.a kuzniar and it is a wonderful retelling of the nutcracker and has an rivals to lovers story, and LBTQ representation as well as many other representations and relationships as well .

7. A throne of shadows by tessonja odette and it’s part of a trilogy and has unicorns 🦄 and magic and Fae and second chance and enemies to lovers romances respectively between the two different characters, Cora and teryn and larylis and mareleau.

8. These vengeful souls by Kelly Zekas and Tarum shanker and has an LBTQ relationship with the main relationship being enemies to lovers and has villains 🦹‍♀️ and heroes 🦸‍♀️ living in Victorian times and I’m a history buff 💪 and it’s x men meets the Victorian era. It also reminds me of the heroine complex series by Sarah Kuhn and the renegades trilogy by marissa Meyer as well as my favorite 🤩 shows titans and doom patrol and x men evolution.

9. Ana Maria and the fox 🦊 by Liana de la Rosa is a historical romance 🥰 set in the Victorian era in England and has a slow burn 🔥 romance 🥰 between a Mexican heiress Ana Maria who is the sunshine ☀️ to the grumpy African politician, Gideon fox as well and a marriage of convenience and Ana Maria and Gideon’s relationship is amazing 🤩 and I love ❤️ how he knows to speak 🗣️ Spanish and can talk to her and her family in their native language and I’m so excited 😆 to read the next book 📖 in the luna sisters trilogy next year as well as India 🇮🇳 holton and Elise kova and tessonja odettes books 📚 too etc.

10. the moonfire bride 👰‍♀️ by Sylvia Mercedes has Fae , slow burn 🔥romance and combines beauty and the beast with the Greek myth of Eros and psyche and it’s so good 😊 and the protagonist is a seamstress and she can weave dresses 👗 out of moonlight and other things in the Fae world 🌎.

11. Bellegarde by Jamie lilac it’s a retelling of the movie 🍿 she’s all that in 18th century France 🇫🇷 and has two slowburn romances between evie and beau and evie’s best friend Josephine and beau’s cousin , Mia Bellegarde and I love 💕 these two couples and the book 📖 is very well written and phenomenal and it’s awesome 😎.

12. Daughter of the pirate 🏴‍☠️ king 🤴 by Tricia levenseller has an abundance of magic 🪄, sirens 🚨, pirates 🏴‍☠️ and a heart ❤️ pounding enemies to lovers romance 🥰 between riden and alosa and it’s a stellar book 📖 .

13. Queen bee by Amalie Howard is a retelling of the count of monte Cristo by Alexander dumas and takes place in the regency era and has an array of different romances from enemies to lovers and slow burn 🔥 and friends to lovers and LBTQ relationships and representation from the many biracial characters in the book 📖 and it’s a fantastic book 📖

okay, that was a whirlwind of events. THE DIRECTOR'S HUSBAND?? i wish i could say i saw that coming, i was 50-50 on that. and omg the dance scene, i love the details pertaining to how emotion goes into a dance routine. i just love it. and ciel standing up for us?? i felt some type of way after that 😳, him being roughed up about it. mhm i'm liking him already. thank you for another great chapter, i do hope you got some rest after writing this cuz you deserve it ^^

Sorry for the delayed response! I wanted to give everyone some time to check out the new chapter before I posted my reply.

I’m so happy you enjoyed the dance scene! I had a lot of fun writing it and doing the research. I referenced a couple of interviews with actual principal dancers who have played the dual role and talked about what it’s like to have to be both Odette and Odile! (I have never touched a pointe shoe in my life.)

As for Ciel standing up for the reader…that wasn’t actually planned! Alexander was going to be an ass, but then halfway into the scene I realized that Ciel wouldn’t just…let him be an ass and get away with it. I made the appropriate changes and we got that giggle-inducing part ahahaha.

I did get some good rest and now I’m ready to crack my knuckles and get some writing done. I think the next update will be for Beyond the Walls, just because I need some extra time to iron out some issues I’m having with the outlines for chapters 5 & 6 for Straight Laced.

I also need some time to figure out which Ciel fic to premiere after Straight Laced concludes! We will be halfway through it after I publish CH5, and outlining any new fic will take me about the length it will take me to finish writing the series.

But of course, the problem is which one? Out of my six baby Ciel x Reader fic ideas, it’s between three of them. They’re three very different MCs, different plots, and different vibes. I can’t decide which is best, so I might have to make a poll so you all can help me pick one.

1. the story is dark crimson and black. it’s mature and it’s about the deadliest version of enemies to lovers you’ll get from me. featuring a y/n who takes no prisoners. It’s time the Underworld has a Queen— will you surrender or must I force you to, Ciel Phantomhive? (crime boss!y/n)

2. the story is navy blue and periwinkle. it’s softer and it features an abundance of both raw emotion and some comedy in there. it’s probably the most…spiritual subject matter I’ll dive into. featuring a brutally honest y/n who doesn’t know how to lie. There are so many spirits calling your name, Lord Phantomhive. (Medium/psychic!y/n)

3. the story is beige and ballerina pink. it’s lighter and social, focusing solely on business and some strong social commentary for the 1890s. it’s a battle of wits, pretenses, and how far one is willing to go to achieve their goals. featuring a serious y/n who has been training for this her entire life. If you become an investor for my corporation, Lord Phantomhive, I may consider a waltz with you (heiress!y/n).

Lancia: 100000/10. Obsessed. I think about them daily. They are my Roman empire. I could genuinely talk about them for hours but I'll save yall the walls of text. But I constantly think about them in a king/queen sense and I'm obsessed.

Goldenrain: 100/10. They are so fucking cute and the whole family of these two and Usa and Deedee is amazing

just started reading Christiane Mervaud’s Voltaire et Frédéric II ... only 40pgs in and what a blast! I’ll try to sum up some points about the start of their relationship that I find super interesting:

1. Frederick’s direct attempt to get in touch with Voltaire was, well, not his only attempt, either vertically (trying to get Voltaire-related stuff) or horizontally (trying to connect with french men of letters)

Earlier in 1736 he had wanted to get the super secret La Pucelle that Émilie had kept under lock and key, through the French envoy La Chétardie. The envoy was very well aware of the political potential of the crown prince loving French literature, so he had helped him try to invite Gresset to Prussia as well. Only that Frederick William discovered their scheme in the tabagie one night, so the diplomatic means closed up after that.

earlier in 1735 he had received a “portrait” of Voltaire (not a painting but a description written by someone pissed off at Voltaire) from his much elder friend Count von Manteuffel. Frederick said that “il m'a paru que pour vouloir dire trop de Voltaire, il n'en persuade que moins”, but he actually returned to it twenty years later, in 1756, when he wrote his own “portrait” of Voltaire (x), almost taking whole passages from the 1735 original.

Voltaire was not the only french writer approached by Frederick during this period, and Gresset was not the only other. There were also Fontenelle and Rollin. None of the letters with them ever went as much over the top as those with Voltaire. Fontenelle said: “I think it proper that Alexander doesn’t visit Diogenes very often.”

2. Frederick was known to Émilie, d’Argental, and probably also Voltaire as “that prince who almost had his head cut off by his ogre of a father, three or four years ago” (Émilie wrote so to d’Argental after Voltaire getting the first letter)

3. Mervaud says that Suhm, Frederick’s friend, Saxon envoy to court of Russia, probably translated Wolff’s metaphysics not knowing that Frederick planned to send his work to Voltaire, as a promising gift which ensures a long-term correspondence. He probably just thought Frederick wanted to read in French.

4. The letter-exchanging bubble just fitted both their fascination so well. They both wanted that classical relationship of a philosopher prince and his mentor. They were both not what they played, Frederick was even anxious that Voltaire had too high an opinion of him, but that helped confirm for Voltaire: he's so virtuous that he's even modest!!!

also... she cites a 1960s critic comparing Frederick and Voltaire to Swann and Odette, so now I’m off reading Proust.

Meeting You (King George III x Reader)

Summary: Song-fic based off of “This Is My Idea” from the movie The Swan Princess. For as long as you can remember, your parents forced you to spend time with your future husband, even though you couldn’t stand each other. Throughout the years you both mature, does your relationship?

Warnings: None!

Time Period: Pre-Hamiltime? (It takes place during King George’s life, but it doesn’t have to do with the American Revolution.)

Words: 1983

A/N: Two stories in two days?? Wow, go me!! Anyway, this has been siting in my drafts for a while and I’m finally happy with it. This was super fun to write because I love King George and there aren’t enough reader insert stories about him. Like I said, the inspiration and many lyrics are from The Swan Princess movie. Without further ado, I hope you enjoy and have a fabulous day!!

From a young age, you had been betrothed to George. Before you were even born, your parents had come up with the arrangement that you and George would marry as a way to strengthen your countries.

Every summer, you would be pulled from your home and sail to England. The idea was for you and George to spend time together so you would love each other by the time you were to be married.

There were four of these summers that stood out in your mind when you thought about how you met George.

The first memory was the first time you had ever visited him. You had been told by your parents that you would sailing to England to meet a very important boy who was only a year older than you. At first, the idea excited you. There would be another child to play, even if he was a boy. At the young age of 6, there weren’t many people to play with, seeing as you had no brothers or sisters and the thought of playing with a servant child was unimaginable.

After a long, boring journey, your parents guided you to the castle where you were to meet the King and Queen of England along with their son. The trio stood waiting for you, looking regal, and suddenly you got shy. Hiding behind your parents, you protested as they pushed you forward. George’s parents did the same.

“I’m very pleased to meet you, Princes (y/n).” he grumbled.

You went to curtesy just as you had been taught and automatically replied, “Pleased to meet you, Prince George.” However, when you looked up George had turned away from you in a rude manner.

His mother gave him a sharp look and pointed towards you. Begrudgingly, he dramatically stomped to you and looked at your suspiciously. You glared at him before he kissed your hand and instantly pulled away with a “Yuck!”

The first thought you had was not very kind of Prince George, and you could tell that you would never like him, much less love him enough to marry him. “He looks conceited, what a total bummer.”

Both of you turned to your parents and mumbled together, “If I get lucky I’ll get chicken pox.”

After receiving stern looks from both Kings and Queens, you rolled your eyes before turning back to George with the fakest smile you could muster.

“So happy you could come.” he bowed, mockingly.

“So happy to be here.” you curtsied, but put no respect in it.

At the same time, you both crossed your arms and complained. “This is not my idea of fun!”

The rest of the summer was spent fighting with George. Since your parents wanted you two to get along, they believed the best way to do this was for you to spend every day, with him. For some reason, they were oblivious to the feud you and George had.

That summer was one of the longest summers ever. When you finally got on the boat to head home, you were relieved you wouldn’t have to see that boy for almost another year.

The second summer that stood out in your mind was when you were eleven and George was twelve. That past year, you had discarded the dress laid out for you, instead opting to wear pants and a tunic shirt much to the dismay of your parents.

You tried you hardest to tell your parents they had to postpone the voyage, but they wouldn’t buy any of it. They escorted you on the boat and had a trunk thrown together, all in a matter of ten minutes.

Once you arrived in England, you were greeted by the usual; George, the King of England, and the Queen. However, this year, George’s annoying friend, Samuel Seabury, was with him. All summer, they never let you join in their games.

Anytime you tried to play whatever game they were playing, they would run off to their “secret’ treehouse. About halfway through your stay, you had enough. You chased them throughout the castle, trying to force them to play with you. “Wait up guys!” you cried after them, frustrated that they wouldn’t slow down.

Disappearing out of sight, you almost gave up hope, but luckily you managed to track them down. Now only a few yards behind them, you thought you could catch up. Unfortunately, they reached the treehouse, climbed the ladder, and took away the ladder before you could put a foot on it. On top of that, they hung a sign on the wall that read, ‘NO GIRLS ALLOWED!’

“This really isn’t fair.” you whined, crossing your arms with a pout on your face.

Instead of apologizing, they laughed and said in unison. “We really couldn’t care.”

“Boys it’s all or none!” you thought.

Taking a step to the supporting boards, you kicked one out of anger. Not expecting to cause any damage, you were surprised and horrified to see that kicking that one little board out of place sent the entire structure tumbling.

That summer you got to leave early, but you left with a bruised face and broken arm, and livid parents.

The third summer with George that stood out in your mind was when you were seventeen and he was eighteen. You had finally grown out of your “awkward phase,” and felt beautiful and confident. Your confidence soared even higher that summer when you caught George staring at you a bit too long when you first arrived.

However, if you were being completely honest, you were equally as guilty. Some might have said that you had developed a crush on the future King of England, but that was not true. Although he looked quite handsome, he was still that annoying boy who had never treated you kindly.

The day pigs flew would be the day you had a crush on George.

However, that was the first summer that was different then the rest. In your mind, it didn’t feel like a terrible time. First, you were able to convince George to do what you wanted more easily. Gone were the days where you were running to catch up with him and Samuel. Second, you began to talk to more people in the castle, including the castle gaurds. It was fun just being able to flirt with them, laughing at what they said, leaving your hand on their shoulder for too long, etc, even if it didn’t mean much.

“She’s always flirting with the castle gaurds!” George complained as he and Thomas watched you from afar. That particular day, you were feeling extra flirty. Your arm was lingering on the guard’s shoulder a bit to long and the way you batted your eyes could make any man weak in the knees.

“You’re just jealous because you like her. Fess up.” Samuel teased, elbowing George in the side.

George’s head whipped around as he glared at Samuel, daring him to say another word. Although he would never admit it, George had began to harbor a crush on you. You weren’t the whiny six year old you once were and you most certainty weren’t the boyish eleven year old he had once known, but you were still the annoying girl he didn’t want to marry.

Right?

“I’d like her better if she’d lose at cards.” George countered, still upset over the fact that you always won.

You even won when they boys were cheating. Samuel would stand behind you and glance over your shoulder, mouthing the card numbers to George. When the game came to an end, George laid down his cards quite smugly, prepared to gloat over his victory.

“Four sevens and a ten.”

“I think I won again.” you stated, laying down the cards you had collected on the table.

And even though Samuel had seen your numbers, you had seem to win. Again! The boys could never catch a break.

“This is my idea.” you began, returning George’s smug smile.

“This isn’t my idea.” they pouted.

“Of fun.” all three of you spoke at the same time.

The last summer that stood out in your mind was when you were 20 and George was 21.

For as far back as you could remember, your parents had constantly reminded you that you and George were to someday wed. Every June through September, they would force you to spend time with the boy who you didn’t even like.

You wanted to be in a marriage that was based on love, not politics, and you knew that was something that you could never achieve with George. Even though you tried to explain this to your parents, they acted like they couldn’t hear you.

There would be times that you would beg and plead with them, or even refuse to leave the carriage. If this ever happened, your parents would pick you and drag you to where George was. It felt like their were bruises from their fingerprints.

You could feel the pressure for you and George to marry greater then it ever had been. You knew you were almost passed the acceptable age of not being married, and your parents wanted you to be well off.

When they shoved you in the ball room, you crossed your arms and tried to reason with them. “He is so immature!”

The sound of another door closing on the opposite side of the room caught your attention. You turned and saw that George was standing there, and your knees were buckling slightly. He had grown so incredibly handsome and something about him seemed different.

You could understand why, but some switch inside you flipped and you could see all the great qualities George had in him. He was kind, caring, intelligent, witty, and charming. He was the man you had been dreaming of.

The way he stared at you, made you blush. Unknown to you, he was having similar thoughts of seeing you in a brand new light. While he may of thought you weren’t the prettiest when you were younger, looking at you know you were like an angel.

As if his eyes were finally clear, he saw your beauty, grace, poise, elegance, kindness, humbleness, intelligent, and humor. All of the wonderful characteristics drew him towards you, meeting you half way in the room.

“So happy to be here.” you curtsied, just like at the age of six, but now you meant in with all of your being.

“’Till now I never knew.” he whispered, bowing to you.

“It’s you I’ve been dreaming of.” you both spoke, inching closer and closer to each other until you were mere inches away.

He cupped your cheek in his hand and brought his lips on top of yours. Almost as if a spark had been lit, you felt fireworks booming in your chest as you wrapped your arms around George, pulling him closer to you.

When the two of you finally pulled apart, you couldn’t help the smiles that adorned your faces. You had finally found your soulmate, and he had been standing in front of you your entire life.

“And that is how your mommy and I feel in love.” George spoke lovingly to the bump that was your stomach, rubbing it softly.

You could feel soft kicks from the baby growing inside of you, and you smiled down at the sight of your husband connecting with your unborn child. “I think she liked the story.” you giggled, running a hand lovingly through his hair.

“She?” he questioned, looking up at you with a goofy grin on his face.

“Well I’m not sure, but I think it’s mother’s intuition.” you admitted.

“I love you so much, my little princess.” George whispered, pressing a small kiss to your belly. “And I love you so much, my queen.” he whispered in your ear, pressing a kiss to your lips.

~Choose A Fragrance~

Hello everyone~

To make up for the time I was gone and to start fresh, I decided to do “Choose X” type of divination inspired by my dear friend @jovescorpio, whereas she did this with cups of coffee, I decided to channel fragrances... All you have to do is choose one and see what message it brings you. I have also included an animal oracle message to go with each.

Have fun, and I hope you can relate!

1. Everlasting Dream by Alexander McQueen

key notes: marine accord, cypress, sea salt, cedarwood

If you chose this one, your heart longs for love. Love of your dreams, love of your ideals, love that you cannot describe in words, that you cannot define. Still waters run deep. Your heart is deep, but on the outside you appear cool and calm. You cry a lot, about many things, both positive and negative. Though you are alive, you have one foot in another world. The past calls to you, and past lives have unresolved karma which affects your present. You yearn to let go and be free as the wind. You want to be alone, but you're cold and need to be embraced for a long time. A close friend of yours is not be able to give you what you crave, but they /are/ giving you all they have, and their heart is pure, and will never leave your side. Appreciate them.

Animal Oracle: The Swan

Tales of enchanted swan maidens are indigenous to eastern European folklore. This motif makes its most famous appearance in the ballet Swan Lake, which offers the story of a pure-hearted white swan, Odette, and a deceptive black swan, Odylle. In the natural world, some believed that the dying swan sang a song of unsurpassed beauty before death. The expression “swan song” has come to signify a last great accomplishment.

Animal Oracle: The Ram

In astrological symbolism, the ram is affiliated with Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. As such, the ram is a creature of springtime. No surprise, but rams are often found battering against obstacles in an attempt to discover new pathways. In ancient Greece, the ram is best known from the tale of Jason’s quest for the golden fleece. Accordingly the Ram card suggests new riches if one is fearless enough to chase after them.

Escapism. Whatever is happening around you, it's making you feel fragile and weak. You therefore remove yourself into another state of mind, you wander into fantasies, stories, games and daydreams to numb yourself to the daily pain. The tyrant (in whatever way it is represented for you) cannot hurt you if you remove yourself from attachment. You are otherwordly and pure-hearted. Someday soon, you will meet an angel who will be your savior from all of this.

Animal Oracle: The Turtle

A Native American story states that the turtle supports the entire world upon its back; as such, the animal serves as a creation deity. In China, the tradition of feng shui associates the turtle with the element of water. More recently, Aesop’s tale of the Tortoise and the Hare illustrates the stalwart consistency of the turtle’s personality.

4. Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior

Something about you penetrates barriers that other people can't access, as well as those that they have put up. You see the Truth. Your mind, heart and body know. There is something important, a hunch, that you're actually right about but you haven't received validation for feeling this way. This is your validation.

Animal Oracle: The Carp

This fish is judged to be a good luck charm in many cultures because it resembles gold, that most precious of metals. Throughout Asia the carp is considered a magical spirit. A goldfish even plays the fairy godmother role in a Chinese Cinderella story.

You are surrounded by sophisticated or gifted people, but you're not competitive. You are admired by many, though you're quiet. You may not be noticed, but you are remembered. Animal Oracle: The Fox

The Fox symbolizes harvest after a period of confusion and travail. In both legend and life the fox is a crafty animal. Native American tribes depict the fox as a cunning trickster in their myths. More positively, the fox is associated with wealth. Inari, a Japanese god of food and rice, takes on the form of a fox to visit mortals.

Your energy relieves stress and fills the room with something beyond words. You are kind and sweet, but find yourself easily taken advantage of. You have healing powers. Something from another world is guiding you and protecting you, but you don't always listen. You get too involved in other people's problems and spend too much time thinking about them. You have a hard time asking for help, but will readily do other people's jobs for them.

Animal Oracle: The Bat

Despite superstition about the bat, the appearance of the Bat card offers the promise of good luck. The reality is that this shy, intelligent animal helps humans by eating insects that carry disease. Still, folk traditions associate the bat with the powers of darkness, fueled by its nocturnal life and the unusual eating habits of the vampire bat. This small bat rarely harms its victims and prefers cattle to humans; yet the vampire associated with this species has become a universal symbol of supernatural evil. The gentle bat is better appreciated in Asia. The Chinese character “fu” stands for both bat and happiness, and Fu-xing, the Taoist god of happiness, is represented by a bat.
