what are the other fave relationships you mentioned having

Ginko and Tanyuu (Mushishi). The nature of their relationship is unclear, between romantic and platonic, and could very well be one sided in those terms, both ways. What they do share is deep commitment to each other, with the simple promise of "if we both make it to the age where we can, let's live the rest of our days together". Inu-oh and Tomoari (Inu-oh) what if oupy and kitty were best friends? What if I found my life purpose in jamming with you. What if I named myself "I have a friend" to you. What if I lost you and spent the rest of eternity trying to find you again to hang out. I like the contrast in one being extraverted yet very secretive about his personal affairs and deeply polite, and the other being extroverted but with a fiery personality. Dudes rock

Nikaido and Kaiman (Dorohedoro). Both adults and best friends with a goofy but weirdly intimate, heartfelt relationship. Who murder bitches together in their free time YAY

Denji and Power (CSM) are both weirdoes who get to goof around each other and discover types of affection they never got. I like how Denji being his cumbrained self ends up figuring out after trying that he doesn't want to sleep with her and it evolves into them being very close in a platonic way, something he's new in experiencing. It's sweet and they're both nuisances. On the opposite end... I also adore the relationship Denji has with Makima. Harrowing to witness, simply put. I wasn't expecting such a detailed depiction of abuse in a shonen

Haruo and Adachi (Sunny). Troubled bully and his adult caretaker. There's a chapter that explores their relationship a bit deeper, in which Haruo is embarrassed to be reminded that Adachi works hard for him, plays pranks instead of apologizing and gets hit with an out of the blue, genuine verbal declaration from Adachi that he loves having him around. Both are well written, realistic characters and their shared moments fit into that. The bond they share isn't family - Haruo's deeply scarred by his living mother abandoning him in a way that obsesses and disturbs him, and Adachi is an adult man with his own family who knows the kid from work - nonetheless, he truly does care, and boy does that make the kid cringe, as you do when you are a mean little boy

Pristine gameplay, cool lore, spectacular music, the PRESENTATION in both cutscenes?? Truly doesn't get better than this.

2. Father Gascoigne

Thee best tutorial boss in the series don't @ me. This bossfight marks the moment i fell in love with BB <3 Also we don't talk about his daughters' quest.

3. Lady Maria

Peak tragic fromsoft character. The way each phase blends into the next one as she gets more and more desperate to stop you is amazing both gameplay-wise and from a characterization perspective. Also i am gay for her.

4. Artorias

Hey it's the blorbo in law! Another peak tragic character, plus this fight is soo fun <3 Very challenging but never unfair and soo fast-paced, my man living in ds3 while everyone else is stuck in ds1.

5. Ornstein & Smough

The way fromsoft created the perfect double bossfight in the first dark souls and then went "aight that's it. you're never getting this level of quality again lol". Slay.

6. Darkeater Midir

Finally a good fucking dragon fight...... but also shoutout to my beloved Kalameet, like ik midir is objectively better but i love kalameet and felt bad not mentioning him :(

“I’m terribly sorry, but when it suits him, Oupis is governed only by his own impulses,” Emma said. “One can only do so much when one’s daemon has the gift of flight. And a luna moth requires particular care.”

“A delicate creature,” he said. “Lovely, the colors on his wings. Like opals.”

“Beauty is a delight but never an excuse,” Emma replied. Just then the peregrine spread its wings wide, as if she would take to the skies, a gesture at odds with the finely appointed drawing room they occupied.

“Eanswythe,” Envoy Hopkins’s voice was firm, solemn, and Emma would have thought he had far greater command over his daemon than she did, except that the bird gave a great wail, clearly startling the man. Emma concealed her smile with a well-trained fluttering of her hand which he might think natural. Her sister Alys would have rolled her eyes at the lack of sophistication and her governess Baroness von Olnhausen have shaken her head slightly at the coquetry, but Emma refused to fret. Oupis flew back and landed on her delaine sleeve, a charming ornament, for the moment. Within its embroidered cuff, her pulse leapt.

“Tea, I think,” Emma said. “And we might open the French doors to the portico. For a breath of air.”
