You and Spencer had agreed on one thing when your relationship first started:

“Let’s keep it just between us for a while.”

Not because you were ashamed — far from it — but, because the BAU wasn’t exactly known for being a quiet, private place. The second Garcia caught wind of anything remotely romantic, you’d both be wearing couple t-shirts and getting shipped like characters from a CW drama.

And, it was nice for a while.

You lasted four months.

It started with a coffee cup.

Specifically, the one with Spencer’s name on it, sitting at your desk.

Morgan strolled in that morning with his usual swagger and an armful of case files. He was halfway through a yawn when he spotted the cup and froze mid-step.

“Hey, Pretty Girl?” he called over his shoulder. “Why’s Reid’s name on your latte?”

You didn’t even look up from your desk. “Oh. He picked it up for me.”

“Uh-huh.” He narrowed his eyes like a detective in an old noir film. “And when did Reid start remembering your custom order down to the almond milk and two pumps of caramel?”

You finally looked up. “I… mention it a lot?”

Morgan snorted. “Okay.”

The next day, he walked into the breakroom to find Spencer standing very close behind you, reaching for the same muffin. There was laughter — soft, easy — and then Spencer let you have it with the kind of look that didn’t belong in any HR-safe workplace.

Morgan didn’t say a word. Just walked out with his coffee, grinning.

“Gotcha, Boy Genius.”

Penelope Garcia’s superpower wasn’t her hacking skills — (though, yes, she could probably access the Pentagon with a shoelace and a floppy disk) — it was her intuition. Especially when it came to anything involving hearts, unspoken feelings, or long looks across briefing tables.

So when she noticed Reid texting someone with a tiny, goofy smile on his face during lunch, her curiosity sparked.

She sidled up next to him.

“Who ya texting, Dr. Reid?” she sing-songed, peeking at his screen before he could lock it.

He jumped. “N-no one. Just… a friend.”

Garcia narrowed her eyes. “Since when do you call Y/N ‘sunbeam’?”

Reid’s face turned the color of a fire hydrant. “It’s — it’s just a nickname. She — uh — likes the sun.”

“Mmhmm.” Garcia leaned in. “Reid… are you dating my girl?”

His silence was answer enough.

She let out a tiny shriek, clapping her hands. “I knew it! I knew it! My OTP is real!”

He groaned and buried his face in his hands.

To her credit, Garcia didn’t spill — not yet.

But the sparkle in her eye was pure chaos.

Prentiss wasn’t nosy — she was observant.

So when you came into work with what looked like Spencer’s scarf around your neck and a sleepy smile that screamed I didn’t sleep in my own bed, she raised an eyebrow.

But she didn’t say anything until a week later.

The team had just wrapped a case in Portland and were gathered at the airport. You and Spencer were seated across from each other at the gate, trying — and failing — not to play footsie under the chairs.

Prentiss watched the whole thing, sipping her coffee like it was a reality show.

Later, on the plane, she slid into the seat next to you.

“So, when were you planning on telling me?”

You blinked. “Telling you what?”

She tilted her head toward Spencer, who was sitting two rows ahead, hunched over a book — but not before sending a not-so-subtle glance back your way.

Prentiss smirked. “I was a teenager once too, you know. I recognize the ‘pretending not to stare at my crush’ look.”

You flushed. “It’s not like we’re hiding it — ”

“But you are,” she said, patting your arm. “Don’t worry. I’ll let you come out in your own time. Just… maybe don’t play footsie where Rossi can see. He’s got surprisingly good peripheral vision.”

You genuinely thought Rossi wouldn’t notice.

He was older, more focused — a man who’d seen it all. Surely, he wouldn’t pick up on subtle glances or the way Spencer’s hand lingered on your back a little too long after briefings.

You were wrong.

He invited you both over to his house for dinner, claiming he was “trying a new risotto recipe and needed test subjects.”

The moment he caught you stealing a bite from Spencer’s plate with zero hesitation, he set down his wine glass and gave a slow, smug smile.

“Interesting.”

You froze mid-chew. “What is?”

“Oh, nothing. Just watching young love blossom over truffle risotto.”

Spencer choked on his wine.

You coughed. “What makes you think —?”

“Please,” Rossi waved a hand. “I’ve written three books on behavioral profiling. You think I can’t tell when two people are secretly dating?”

You opened your mouth.

He held up a finger. “Don’t worry. My lips are sealed. Just know I expect to be invited to the wedding.”

You both gaped.

He raised his wine glass. “Eventually, of course.”

Hotch was the final boss.

You and Spencer had been very careful around him — no lingering looks in the field, no brushing hands in the briefing room, no coordinated lunches. You were practically platonic professionals around him.

Until he caught you.

It happened at 9 p.m. on a Friday. Most of the team had already left, and you and Spencer were still in the conference room, finishing paperwork.

You thought you were alone.

So, when Spencer reached over and laced his fingers through yours, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand, you let your guard down for just a moment.

And Hotch walked in.

He stopped mid-step.

You both froze like teenagers caught making out on a porch.

Hotch blinked once. “Should I… come back?”

You yanked your hands apart. “No! We were just — ”

“Finishing paperwork,” Spencer blurted. “Very platonically.”

Hotch raised a brow. “You were kissing her hand.”

Spencer blinked. “Right. Well… not that platonically.”

There was a long pause.

Hotch sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “Just — no PDA at crime scenes, okay?”

You both nodded, mortified.

As he left, you could swear you saw him smirk.

You didn’t plan to tell everyone. At least, not in one grand announcement.

But the BAU had other plans.

It happened during a rare, sunny weekend BBQ hosted at Rossi’s estate. Everyone was scattered across the lawn — beer bottles in hand, kids running around, music playing.

You were helping Garcia string lights along the fence when she casually said, “So, when are you and Reid going to make it official-official?”

You nearly dropped the string of lights. “What?”

She pointed. “Oh, don’t play coy, sweet pea. Everyone knows.”

You blinked. “Everyone?”

Morgan, walking by with a burger, grinned. “Oh yeah. We’ve had bets running for weeks.”

Prentiss added, “Morgan owes me twenty bucks. I said you’d crack before Valentine’s Day.”

Rossi raised his glass. “Cheers to the happy couple.”

Even Hotch gave you a nod that could only be described as… warm.

You turned to Spencer, who looked equally horrified and relieved.

“They all know?” he whispered.

You nodded. “Apparently for a while.”

Garcia beamed. “What gave it away? Everything.”

You and Spencer exchanged a look.

Then you both laughed — loud, breathless, incredulous.

So much for secrets.

Later, as the party mellowed into dusk and someone lit a bonfire, Spencer pulled you close beneath the string lights.

“Do you think it’s weird… that I’m kind of relieved?”

You looked up at him. “Relieved they found out?”

He nodded. “Yeah. It’s like… I don’t have to keep something good hidden anymore.”

You smiled, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “You’re not something I want to hide, Spencer.”

He looked at you then, all soft eyes and quiet awe.

Even in a team of profilers, even under the most watchful eyes — you and Spencer had managed something rare.

A love worth noticing.

This morning, G-Dragon posted a picture to Instagram of what fans recognised to be 2ne1 member (and rumoured former girlfriend) Y/n holding his cat, Lye.

It seems he had intended to post it on his “secret” private account instead, as the post was promptly deleted— though not before netizens could capture screenshots.

Speculation about the couple began in 2015, supported by numerous sightings, matching accessories, and hints on their social medias.

Following 2ne1’s disbandment in 2016, break-up rumours started circulating during GD’s ‘M.O.T.T.E’ Tour in 2017. Fans noticed that Y/n had been absent from any concerts, as well as posts on GD’s socials alluding to being lonely.

However, fans began to hope for a potential reunion, after 2ne1 and GD both announced their 2024 comebacks from hiatus.

Speculation spread like wildfire at possible contact between the two— which was all but confirmed with (not so) subtle hints of each other in their posts.

favorite thing about them: i love that she simultaneously believes in kira's ideals more genuinely than anyone else in team kira (mikami is projecting his own beliefs, light is ocd spiraling, misa is misa) and Also is the most reluctant to actually kill. i keep saying the latter thing and i keep not giving evidence so here is my evidence

kiyomi: i love when people die! kiyomi when she has to kill people: well this sucks. what the fuck

it's not just momentary shock either! she's dead silent for the rest of the conversation until light prompts her directly for the sake of the task force listening in!

anyway this is my favorite thing about her less because i believe she has more of a moral backbone and more because i think it's so darkly funny. leopard who joined the leopards eating people's faces off party: i never thought i would have to eat people's faces off!! in some ways i think this is the most realistic reaction anyone in death note has to the death note like yeah of course nobody actually wants their hands stained with blood in the end of course you want your pure refined kindhearted world and don't want to look at the victims of its violence except that you yourself are the face of the violence and there are bodyguards gunning people down in the streets in your name. kiyomi takada, saint. they'll canonize you and they'll spit on your gravestone.

i think in some ways misa clocks this about her immediately. we meme on that panel where misa's like The Death Penalty :D but in context misa (who knows the task force is investigating kiyomi) is saying that since kiyomi is kira's voice, she's just as bad as kira is and will get executed just as kira will once they're caught. and this is what gets kiyomi (who is already acting as kira at this point) to leave the conversation because she cannot be confronted with her own guilt.

anyway do you see why i think she is exactly like first arc light yagami hahahahahahhaaaa

brOTP: kiyomi and mikami are SO fun together i like them so much. i like to think kiyomi asked him out on a date and he just did not catch onto the subtext there at all and they spent the whole time talking about politics and kiyomi was like wow i enjoyed that so much more than any actual date i've had with a man, surely this means nothing. i also think mikami wrote her name without a shred of remorse :D

OTP: ive been trapped in kiyomisa hell for almost a year now. i may never get out. they've got mindgames they've got hatemance they've got two people trying to perform gender and failing miserably in vastly different ways they've got identity issues of the "i am your more successful copy and yet i am starting to suspect he hates us both" variety. they deserve to kill each other homoerotically.

i also enjoy that light almost clocks it but due to his sexism he concludes that All Women Are Like This when in fact he just has a track record of dating lesbians. i wonder what this says about your gender light yagami

nOTP: this one is also kiyomi and mikami i have actually read several fics about them but i just can't see it romantically alas… they're more interesting when they're friends to me

random headcanon: she's an only child and her parents are traditionalists who wish she'd been a boy and yet objected very strongly to her tomboy phase. naturally this did not affect her personality at all

unpopular opinion: i don't think there are enough opinions about kiyomi to determine what counts as an Unpopular one. damn. i will keep writing meta instead. it is my opinion that she has zero friends and this is why light is able to manipulate her so effectively. near talks about looking through "takada's friends and associates" to find x-kira and then notices mikami and says "never mind i know who it is" which suggests to me that she has like a hundred acquaintances but doesn't actually spend time with any of them. she looks so surprised when light suggests booking a hotel room so they can get some privacy because presumably she has not had cause to actually talk to anybody one-on-one since she got famous. she's like the literal perfect target for emotional manipulation it's kind of impressive and extremely sad

Darlin/Pack Members

Because my self-control is zero and I just think Darlin' is the most interesting listener character who also deserves the entire world and William Solaire's wallet.

Milo

Already wrote some about them here but they're my non-canon otp so ofc I wanna talk about them more

The pack's most photogenic couple. Milo puts in the effort to look good and dress well but Darlin' is just the most effortlessly good-looking. They can roll out of bed in yesterday's clothes and unbrushed hair and any candid shot looks like it belongs on an influencer's curated social media. It drives poor Milo crazy.

Before they moved in together, Milo would send messages to Darlin' throughout the day to let them know what he was up to and where he was going. They never asked but he knows it makes them more comfortable and he's always happy to do it.

Christian can't make his jokes about Milo's wolf size for nearly as long when he's mates with Darlin'. Darlin' isn't a brute, they're a protector, so of course they notice the way Milo's smile tightens when Christian piggybacks onto Ash's jokes. They give him three chances to knock it off and after he doesn't listen to them on strike three, they start swinging. Darlin' doesn't ask Milo to talk to David about how he's feeling but he has to anyway when David interrogates him about what caused Darlin' to break Christian's nose.

Darlin' has always been Marie's favorite and she has no problem saying as much. She's wanted them as her kid for as long as she's known them, little spitfire that they are, and is beyond happy when Milo finally makes it official.

This also means that Marie is Darlin's primary healer and gives them twice the ration of shit that she gives anyone else - including Milo! She loves them so much but will not hesitate to kick their ass for being reckless.

Milo is without a doubt Darlin's lifeline during pack meetings. It's a lot, being home and surrounded by people you thought would be fine without you - who are upset with you for thinking so - and Milo knows all the best places to escape with them. They never admit to needing a breather but he always knows.

Milo and Darlin train together!! They absolutely do!! Darlin' knows they can rock Milo's shit and he does too, and he loves it. When they spar or box together it's always going to end in a makeout session. He can't help it, they look so damn fine all fired up and sweaty. They've absolutely gotten caught but no amount of teasing will get them to stop.

Darlin' doesn't mind dressing up for Milo. It's not their thing usually, simple and maneuverable works best for them but every now and again they can be persuaded with plenty of kisses. Fancy restaurants make them feel out of place but Milo always seems so happy to see them under the light of glittery chandeliers and that makes them happy too.

One time he did manage to piss off Darlin' during a fancy dinner so they pretended to propose to him in front of the entire restaurant and it nearly gave him a heart attack. The cake and champagne they were given more than made up for it though.

When Darlin' sits down, Milo has the habit of coming up behind them and massaging their shoulders and neck. He has a hard time keeping his hands off of them at the best of times but he wants to help get rid of some of their stress so small random massages are his way of helping with that.

Darlin' likes things that are simple and physical, they're a tactile person so they've absolutely got a photo album of them and Milo. Marie even gave them some old pictures of them together from their teens for it. Milo finds it one day by accident and if it had him crying on their bedroom floor for 15 minutes that's between him and Aggro.

Speaking of Aggro, he has a love-hate relationship with Darlin'. They're convinced the cat hates them, the way he swats at them and hisses. They say Milo is Aggro's person and he's jealous that Darlin' takes up so much of his attention. But every night, he tries to climb up and sleep on Darlin's chest, head resting under their chin. And if Milo tries to move him to cuddle with Darlin' he gets a full-force bapping to the face until he gives up and lets Aggro do what he wants.

Darlin' has absolutely shifted and laid down so Aggro could climb up onto their back and nap there. They'll never tell a soul.

I talked about it in my other Milo post but Milo kissing Darlin's scars!! They've been through so much and it's affected their self-image so much. Milo can't stand that. So he kisses each and every one, even the ones that make Darlin' lip curl in disgust at themselves, and say something about them that he loves. Physical, emotional, about their personality. Anything. This praise king could go on forever. And he means it and that's what makes Darlin's heart ache the most.

And when they start to believe it, Milo couldn't be more proud. The crease between their brows when they see themselves smoothes out. They don't sneer at the bite marks that are dotted around their skin nearly as much. They get confidence in how they look, and in how desirable Milo finds them. He can't wait until it turns into true self-love.

Milo has no problem being the in-between for Darlin' and David. Both have strong personalities. Both can word things that, while meant to be loving, can be harsh and wound the one who hears them. Milo doesn't have a lot of patience, but he is fluent in Grumpy Wolf at this point. His interventions have honestly brought the unintentional hostility between them down and made it easier for them to talk about their thoughts, feelings, and opinions on their own.

When they're shifted, they're almost always stuck together. Doesn't matter if it's a hunt, a run during the Solstice, anything. They will not be separated. They're both ready to throw themselves headfirst into whatever danger might happen to protect the other, much to the exhaustion of the rest of the pack who really wish they would just stop throwing themselves into danger.

Asher

"Well mark me down as scared AND horny!" Has been Ash's response to basically everything Darlin' has done since they were teens.

Seriously, there would be no denying that Darlin' intimidated Asher when they joined the pack. A new wolf from outside of Dahlia joins the pack with a chip on their shoulder a mile wide and so fearless they'll jump in first into any problem??? They're intimidating but also!! They aren't mean to him!!

He was without a doubt one of the members of the pack who tried to help Darlin' integrate the most. He'd include them in anything he could, even if it made his other friends side-eye him. He was shameless about it too!! If they wouldn't spend time with him, he'd be following them around like a lost puppy. It was like they had a second shadow.

Some members of the pack scoff and roll their eyes at Asher but not Darlin'. Even if they don't seem interested in his rambling they're always paying attention. They've always listened. And he didn't realize how important that was to him until it was gone.

Becoming pack beta and David's second in command was a huge shift and he's well aware that plenty of people don't think he's up for it. But Darlin' was never one of them. They had their own quiet belief in Ash and what he could do, never questioned his fit for the role. Even as they withdrew from the pack they knew that David could handle it if he had Asher's support.

After Darlin' fell into the wrong crowd, Ash was the most vocal about getting them back and bringing them home. No argument mattered to him, Darlin' was a member of the pack and they needed to be there. He wasn't above saying it was just because he missed them. That didn't change when they stopped being teenagers. He still feels like a dumb kid with a huge crush who missed his chance.

Then, all at once, it all falls apart. Darlin's unempowered friend is almost killed, by Darln's own mate, and the Shaw pack is rallying behind them to try and push the department to act. Then it goes quiet. They leave, saying they're heading up to be with their family and Ash feels like someone hollowed out his chest. It's how he imagined it feels like when someone's mate dies - a constant ache in his chest. Which he knows he shouldn't feel because regardless of his feelings Darlin' isn't his mate. Hell, they just had to leave theirs because he was a shitty person!!

He's confused and it only gets worse when he finds out Darlin' had been lying to them. That Quinn was still at large, that they put the pack at risk, that they were putting themselves at risk trying to handle it alone. They didn't rely on the pack. On their friends. On him. And his impostor syndrome kicks him off on a spiral. But it doesn't take much to pull him out of it, not when Darlin' is finally back in his life.

As mates, Ash is the Will Smith red carpet meme. He wants everyone to look at his mate, to know that he's their mate and they're soooo in love!! It drives poor Darlin' insane.

And he can get away with it!! And damn near anything because Darlin' is so weak to Ash's puppy dog eyes. They have been since they were teens. If Asher wants a grilled cheese at 3 AM all he has to do is flash those eyes and Darlin' is hauling themselves out of bed, but grumbling about it the entire way.

Asher and Darlin' spend a lot of downtime gaming together. They trade recommendations back and forth, play each other's favorites, and terrorize everyone else who ends up in their lobbies. Darlin' can get a little heated and toxic during PVP but it's always defused by Asher doing an uwu voice and making Darlin' choke on their laughter.

David and Milo are happier than Asher when they finally get together, they've been listening to his lovesick pining for years and they're TIRED.

David

aka the character that got me into shipping Darlin' with their pack members

David and Darlin have such an interesting dynamic!! The devoted pack alpha and the wayward lone wolf. They both have strong personalities and we've seen them come into conflict with each other

But there's love there. There always has been.

I fully believe that in a David/Darlin' relationship, it'd be a case of he fell first and fell harder. It wasn't love at first sight, David's a bit too cynical for that even before his dad died. But there was a pull to the newcomer that drew him in and helping them settle in wasn't just because of his role as beta.

They were always there, in the background of David, Milo, and Asher's teenage years but never front and center. Always on the fringes, like they never found their footing. Something he wouldn't notice until it was too late.

Then Gabriel dies and Darlin' got together with Quinn. Instead of being distant, they're absent entirely. David knows that Quinn is their mate but something about that burns at his core, makes him feel queasy and unsettled. Like it's wrong. But htere's nothing he can do, he has a pack to run and protect.

The anger and hurt he feels when he finds out that they've been lying to him for so long. That they're trying to hunt down Quinn on their own, so stubborn and self-destructive. The fact that they consider themselves expendable and would risk breaking themselves to avenge their friend and protect the pack. He wants to shake them by the shoulders and tell them they're loved but he knows it'll be better to show them instead.

The pack meeting goes better than he hoped, with members both scolding and reassuring Darlin' of their place and their value. He watches them the whole time out of the corner of his eye and he says it's because he wants to make sure they don't bolt but he knows deep down he's just happy to see them back where they belong

The road to becoming mates is even more bumpy with Darlin' than it would be with Angel. He has to balance being their alpha and their partner and he already feels like he's failed them as a leader, they couldn't even trust him about Quinn.

The shift to being mates came with no small amount of arguing. Darlin' likes to fight with David on just about everything and it drives him crazy. It doesn't matter what it is, big or small it's always some kind of fight or contest and it makes his blood boil but at the same time he loves that little sparkle they get in their eye whenever they challenge him.

When there's a pack run and they're all shifted there's a 100% chance that Darlin' is gonna slam into David's flank and snap at him. Doesn't matter how many times he tells them to stop over the link, they're always going to start shit in a way even Asher wouldn't try.

Honestly, it's like David has two betas the way Darlin' and Asher flank him. And Darlin' isn't above mean-mugging clients if they think they aren't being taken seriously. (again, David tells them to stop. They don't.)

Scary movie nights are even more fun when David and Darlin' are sat next to each other, the contrast makes Darlin's abject terror even more hilarious.

"Calliope," the wyvern’s voice echoed through the mist. "You seek the Lord of Dreams."

She nodded, and her throat felt so tight she could barely swallow. "I come to speak to him."

Calliope's fingers trembled. She remembered the bitter words they had exchanged—the accusations, the tears. Later, Oneiros had been unyielding, her attempts to speak to him ignored. She was not even sure what would have happened had he acted differently then; the thought of bringing forth an apology entered her mind and was as quickly dismissed. She felt her hands ball into fists, bitterness resurfacing.

No, this is not the time.

The guardians exchanged glances, their expressions unreadable. "Why are you here, muse?" the hippogriff asked.

She hesitated. "Our son's absence binds us, even in sorrow."

There was no more talk, no further interrogation. The gates just creaked open.

Calliope stepped across the threshold, and her footsteps echoed on the stairs and the marble corridors. With every step, her heart picked up pace until it was racing so fast she could hardly catch a breath.

The door was as she remembered—unchanged, the wood dark and polished, etched with symbols whose meaning she understood and yet didn’t.

Just like him.

But that wasn’t true. He had been changed when last they met. Familiar yet different, faint echoes of what once she loved—and hated.

Calliope pushed the door open, and the air itself seemed to hold its breath. For a moment, she wondered what she had expected to find. How she had expected him to greet her. And then she knew that this was exactly it:

His back turned on her, no sign of movement, frozen in space.

She crossed the room, her breath catching in her throat, unable to speak.

She didn’t have to.

"Calliope," he whispered, still not turning. There was a rawness to his voice, even in that whisper, that caught her unaware.

She reached for him, without any hesitation, and while it surprised her, it felt right. As her hand touched his shoulder, he flinched subtly, but he didn't pull away.

When he finally turned, his eyes held galaxies, and their shared history was etched on his face—the pain, the longing—it was all there, laid bare.

And it was hard not to see Orpheus in him. Hard not to remember how he had told him stories, his voice like a melody spun from darkness and light, stardust and moonbeams, while the boy’s laughter would echo through the halls of the castle, and his cries for more brought a moment of happiness to everyone who heard it.

And then it was gone.

Calliope had wept for him so many times, and she felt the tight grip of grief resurfacing. She had mourned the laughter that would never echo through these halls again, the stories of his father he would never pass on to children of his own, the promise of a future shattered.

She had sung dirges and sought solace in memories, but they only deepened the pain.

In that moment, his eyes searched hers. “You came.” And perhaps, they were seeking answers and forgiveness.

“You called.”

Midnight Rascals (Sanji x child!reader)

A/N- Another one inspired by @me-writes-prompts, specifically from this post here, same as last time, I loosely based it on it as most of the prompt was change but it was still totally inspired by it. Who better to take this on than our Casanova chef?

Prompt: OTP comes home to their children playing with flour all over the floor and they can't help but coo at them, even though they'll have to clean the whole house twice.

Sanji had woken up, his keen senses alerted by the familiar sound of someone having sneaked into the kitchen; knowing the avaricious appetite of his captain and how dangerous it would be to let the man be the cook stormed into the kitchen,

“Luffy, I swear,” he growls, only to stop at the shear mess that now lay in his kitchen, the whole place covered in white, his head snapping to one of the counters where he heard movement from

“Luffy, you better pray to every deity out there because when im done with the crew will be having a full-course meal on your body!”

“What the hell did you do to my kitchen?!” Sanji’s fury grew as he noticed every piece of equipment was covered with the same dusty white substance. Storming towards the counter only to stop short as in front of him lay not his captain but his young sibling thrown on the floor, writing and drawing messily on what he now identified as flour

Sanji stared blankly for a second, trying to register what his eyes were seeing

“W-what are you doing?!” He finally found the capacity to talk, staring at his sibling with disbelief as they lay there with their tongue sticking out in a state of concentrated effort, writing indecipherable words.

Their sibling shrieked, taking one look at their brother and the shocked look plastered on their face and shooting up and trying to make a run for it

Sanji immediately ran forward to grab the child who was attempting to escape, trying to hold back his laughter, his hands surrounding the small frame

“Ah ah ah, where do you think you’re going? I think you have lots to explain,” he said, holding the small child up with a curly browed arched as he waited for an explanation

“Why is there flour all over my kitchen?”

“It just fell…”

“Oh? It just fell, did it?”His eyes quickly once again surveyed the scale of the disaster caused by a bag of flour ‘falling,’ and with his youngest sibling covered in flour, it was apparent who was the cause of this catastrophe

“Yeah!”

“Oh, you mean those random piles of flour all around the floor, and the fact that every single piece of equipment in the kitchen is covered in flour, and even you’re covered head to toe in flour, and that you were literally writing with flour on the kitchen floor…It just fell, is that right?”

“Yeah?” They replied, giggling nervously, a little bit more hesitant than their previous answer

“Oh, you think being cute and giggling will get you out of trouble?”

Sanji smirked at his little sibling

“I promise you that’s not going to work this time.”

“ I love you, brother Sanji!”

“Convenient you wanting to share that when you’re caught red-handed. Do you think saying that is going to get you out of trouble?”

“Yep”

“Have a little bit of shame to at least deny it,” he mutters as he rolls his eyes, putting the child on the ground

“Good try, go get a rag; you have lots to clean up.”

“Awww!”

“Don’t you ‘Aww’ me, Start brooming and dusting the place,” he said, amused at his sibling's antics.

“But I was practicing writing!”

“You were practicing writing on the kitchen floor? With flour? Are you a baker now? Get cleaning”

They pout, grabbing a small child-size broom and starting to sweep the mess they had created

“Put that lip back, you rascal. I raised you, and I know your tricks; they won’t work on me like they do the rest of the crew,” he said, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it, inhaling and exhaling a thin wisp of smoke

What we thinking? I was working on another part for crocodile pigeon!reader among some other ideas but I had to get hall something wholesome and we haven’t heard of our resident cook in a while

Welp, after a long... loooooong road of S2 to sift through in HB, here's my official review of the "Sinsmas" finale to wrap things up (*no Christmas pun-intended lol*):

NOTE: My thoughts below will contain some obv spoilers so you miiiight wanna skip this post if you haven't watched "Sinsmas" yet; also like with all my past reviews these are just my personal opinions alone (+fair warning that I'll be getting a bit rant-y later too), so... do remember to keep things civil if you disagree with anything here (and if not, welp... yall are free to block & move on, I guess lol 🤷‍♀️), thank you 🙏🙏

Loona continuing to show more appreciation & excitement around her dad/I.M.P. is great to see, and about time we finally got her joining in on an assassination gig again (which I don't think we've had since S1's "Spring Broken"?). I like her new Hellhound friends shown towards the end too, they look chill~

As much as I've lowkey grown a bit... disinterested in M&M these past few episodes (not to a hate-level or anything but they just don't really... "spark" for me, OTP-wise?), it is nice to see a return to their bloodthirsty-based couple fluff (aka: their lil Sinsmas-based playfight at the beginning), bringing me back a bit to the og pilot days (ex. "Oh Millie" ❤️). -Buuuut dang, who would've thought things would escalate to Millie turning out pregnant?? .o. I know there's been some controversy for Millie's less-than-happy reaction about it towards the end; but honestly I absolutely don't blame the poor gal if you consider: 1) She's a proud fighter & trained assassin who's always been passionate about her current line of work, and (depending on how imp pregnancies work) having this potentially putting her out of a job for a long while would make anyone stressed out imho 2) Imps are considered the lowest-of-the-low ranked species within Hell as it is; with not a whole lot of access to good paying jobs + medical coverage (given Blitz's struggle to get Loona her vaccinations). Imagine you were someone who found yourself expecting a child with a good chunk of Hell not considering you "high-up" enough in the food chain to care... wouldn't you get freaked out too? 3) Lastly, and this being among the biggest points to me personally... did her & Moxxie ever talk about having kids before? Given the implication that they rushed to get married so soon after dating (+Millie not even knowing about Moxx's mafia background til WAY after), I... can't say I'd be surprised if Millie's fear is partially based on how Moxxie would react (for better or worse). Kids are by-far among the biggest dealbreakers for any relationship, so while I don't necessarily think this'll cause something like a split between M&M... yeaaaah I wouldn't be surprised if this still caused some lingering-tension either way, regardless of if they go through with this pregnancy or not 🤷‍♀️ (On a side note; loved seeing Sallie May popping up to give that well-needed support to her sis on the phone, aww 🥺)

The side-story with the "karen" sinner and her ex-drama was... weird, all things considered? .x.;; Like, yeah I can see the importance of how this plays into Blitz's relationship woes & such... but, am I the only one who found it weird the writing going all "moralistic" with Blitz NOT going through with the job, solely cause he imagined his idealized family in Stolas (whom I'll cover in a sec btw-) upon spying on the target + his partner & kids? 🤨 Like... I know I've seen some argue that this is "character development" for Blitz, which I normally wouldn't mind seeing... but mind you, this is the SAME dude who was all-too-fine killing a bratty kid, a wife & her happy (albeit cannibalistic) family, a whole bunch of random college kids on spring break (all for the sake of some parking spot drama with Verosika btw), and not even two shorts ago some horny fangirl got met with the same fate by his hands (mostly due to getting caught up in her own fantasy world... and thats it lol). So I just... have a hard time buying into this being some grand "change of heart" moment for Blitz tbh, cause with this whole episode taking place during the winter holiday season (an already money-draining time irl as-is), I... can't help but find it a lowkey dick move of Blitz to rob his fellow employees of a chance to have some more cash on-hand (esp. after the events of "Ghostf**kers" and him draining the company's finances over his Stolas mope-fest, like come on dude-🤦‍♀️). Heck, if he really-really didn't wanna do it (and this target family seems innocent enough to potentially escape Hell if-killed)... couldn't they have just lied to the lady that they did the deed & take her money anyway (-instead of Blitz immediately punting her out the window 'cause she was bitching about Stolas' writing😑)? Again, this IS Hell we're talking about, so a bit of dirty-dealing doesn't seem far out of the realm of normal there lmao. Buuuut idk, that may just be me... 🤷‍♀️

We're back again with Andre leading the story as the "main" bad guy, and I'll admit his final confrontation with Stolas & the I.M.P. gang was pretty kickass~ From Stolas throwing the first punches at his smug-ass face, the action-increasing with the ice dragons & Loona going "feral"-mode, and even Octavia coming in to defend everyone from her uncle (with her own personal magic) was pretty rad! 🤩👏👏 One thing that's bothering me about it all though... where tf is Stella during all this going on?? 🤨I know the show's pretty much committed atm to making her as one-dimensionally dumb & evil as possible (not even giving her much substantial dialogue after her repeated "hiLARRRIOUS MUAHAAA~" lines 😒 ), but surely someone like her wouldn't miss the chance to see her ex (+affair partner) smacked down by her brother?? Especially once Via arrived, just imagine the juicy drama potential of seeing Stella having to force herself (+Andre) to call off their attack to appease Via (further adding in salt to the wound for her later decision to walk away from Stolas). Hhhhh Viv, why must u be so allergic to developing Stella (antagonism-wise)... 😔😔

Now, as far as Stolas himself is concerned... *-sighs-* I know I'm gonna get some flack for saying this, but I caaaaaan't with his dude anymore🤦‍♀️ Yes, I get he's going through a tough time losing everything + adjusting to a simple life now (along with implied-withdrawal symptoms from the lack of "happy pills"). But just... the way Stolas kept getting MORE & more whiny/unappreciative of Blitz (after all he's done to accommodate Stolas, defend him against other imps, giving him a job at I.M.P. on top of everything-), then never uttering a single "thank you" for Blitz's efforts frustrated tf out of me 😑😑. You expect to buy that these two are these "deep destined soulmates" at the end of the day, to the point of Blitz practically becoming a giddy cheerleader to boost Stolas at every turn... ...and yet, at the same time you're telling me Blitz has never asked about Stolas' eating habits before, nor Stolas ever asking about Blitz's love of horses?? That outside of their failed date at Ozzy's, they never once tried to actually talk, share a meal or hangout aside from their once-a-month hookups (pre-"Full Moon")? Sure, the show implies that Stolas has asked about Blitz's day before (via-some throwaway lines + blink-and-you'll-miss-it texts)... but if the audience never actually sees those friendly gestures on-screen, how am I supposed to buy them being in-love now?? -_- Like, to take a note from "Swan Princess":

Taking away their childhood memory of playing together for a day, the sexual chemistry, the grand gestures, them both having goth angsty daughters... what else IS there for Stolas & Blitz to love about each other, truly? Its one thing if you wanna show them starting over as friends first (awkward roommate-vibes aside), then hell yeah I'd be down to see their rebuilding bond as a more balanced, genuine pairing down the line (making moments like their big kiss + balcony dance 10x more impactful imo)!👍

...But, with how things are now with Viv & crew rushing to go full-romance mode already (regardless of either character's emotional well-being in the story), I... don't think I can see myself joining the Stolas/Blitz ship hype tbh, regardless of what's to come in the next couple seasons...🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Now, to cap things off regarding Octavia in all this... She. IS. A. STAAAAARRR😭🌟👏👏By far the best thing to come out of this finale IMHO; just seeing Via standing her ground as strongly as she did, both in-defense of her dad AND against him... goddd, that was powerful q-q💜 And before anyone mentions it, no I don't think Via was in anyway "wrong" for her reaction to Stolas (regardless of his efforts to reach her by the end). Imagine you're in her position; the product of an loveless, toxic marriage forced upon by a rigid society, living your childhood blissfully unaware & happy until everything comes crashing down in your teen years (through your father's public affair + your mother's rampant rage). All you thought was true is now a confirmed lie, you're stuck in an emotional mess dealing with your parents, and your beloved dad is constantly putting his booty call (+marital drama) a bigger priority over you (albeit unintentionally, but still-)...

Time & time again, Via's been let down by Stolas, the one parent she's always been closest to since the beginning... and to top it all off? Several episodes later, she's watching her father live on TV willingly ready to be executed in Blitz's place (without so much as a single goodbye message to Via, mind you-), effectively breaking his promise that he'd never leave her...

...So, really, how can anyone blame Via for simply being done with her dad, by that point? Stolas may be "trying", I know... but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter that he didn't "mean" to hurt her. What matters most is that... well, he did. More than he can imagine... 💔

Anywhoodle, what do I think of Captain James Bartholomew Hook, AKA the Vainglorious Vengeful Swordsman?!

Well, despite the fact that his tiny waist and hourglass figure make my knees weak. His prominent, sharply defined chin that juts forward with a hint of arrogance. His face is a portrait of cunning with high cheekbones and a perpetual smirk. Luxurious, jet-black curls cascade down to his shoulders, always impeccably styled. His thick, arched eyebrows convey a constant look of mischievous plotting. And finally, his mustache is a thin, curling work of art, highlighting his sophisticated yet sinister demeanor. Not to mention how proud I am of him for getting over his fear of crocodiles—I think he's DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS! Who doesn't love a man in heels?! 😍😭💖

Now, where was I going with this? Oh, yeah! Who do I ship him with?

Okay, I ship Hook with Jafar, Hades, Gaston, Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella, the Evil Queen, Tinker Bell, and finally Aurora/Briar Rose.

Hook and Aurora are my current OTP based on my mood right now because I love to imagine Aurora wrapping her elegant arm around his delicate, womanly waist and pulling him close as she uses her mighty faerie shield to protect them both from the Fractured. Aurora is a wrecking ball with rose-shaped bangs and a flowy dress that makes his knees weak~

Hook's the only one who consciously remembers to call Aurora by her preferred name, Briar Rose. Mickey and the other guardians slip up constantly, but she's too polite to say anything and appreciates that Hook always remembers. He often engages in chivalrous acts, like offering his hand to help her down a step or draping his crocodile skin coat over her shoulders when it's cold. He likes to play his piano for her and grows daffodils (a headcanon inspired by Shrek 3). And guess whose hair is the same color as daffodils? 👀

Now what do I think of Prince Adam of France, AKA The Beast and the Knight-Errant of the Enchanted Wood? First off, this beastly beauty is looking sharp in his family armor! Puns fully intended! I love that his armor is a family heirloom, with that rose emblem is on his breastplate and cape. You know, I always liked Beast/Adam's human form, but Disney Mirrorverse made me LOVE his human form! Look at him; he's like Edmond Dantès from Manga Classics: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, Jareth the Goblin King, Howl Jenkins Pendragon, and Adrian Țepeș/Alucard all wrapped up into one! Seeing a grief-stricken, half-formed beast is something I never knew I needed in my life! Oh yeah, knighthood and that battle axe look gewd on him.

Okie dokie, I ship this beastie boy with Belle, Gaston, Aurora, Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, Tiana, Cinderella, Aladdin, Hercules, Kuzco, and my fave, Elsa.

I love him with Hercules because Herc is just so sweet and soft to him. But... Beast and Elsa are my OTP because my friend @frie-ice brought the "Beast of Intentions" Disney Mirrorverse event to my attention and lost my mind. I ship them because they're both social outcasts who were ashamed of who they are and thus shut themselves off from the rest of the world. But I love to imagine that they take comfort in and identify with each other over their shared experiences of isolation and self-discovery. Beast, with his struggle to accept his monstrous form, and Elsa, with her fear of her uncontrollable powers, found solace in one another's understanding and empathy. Together, they learn to embrace their true selves, heal from their past wounds, and discover the beauty in their unique qualities~

Now what do I think of Queen Anna, AKA the Ward of Arendelle?! I love this little ray of sunshine right down to her perfectly coiffed hair bun, elegantly accented by the striking white streak that runs through it. Her armor is nothing short of magnificent! Encrusted with troll crystals, embodying the enchanted protection she wields! The Joan of Arc-esque design symbolizes her bravery and leadership, with intricate detailing that showcases both strength and grace~

She is my favorite melee guardian to use because of her special ability called Elemental Surge. This ability is fantastic because it wrecks everyone within her circle, unlike Hercules and Snow White's abilities, which are limited to one enemy. Anna has carried me through this game and was my strongest melee guardian until I got a duplicate Snow White crystal that unlocked her fifth astral rating/level.

I ship this sunspot with Merida, Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Moana, Jasmine, Elizabeth Swan, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Hades, Aurora, Mulan, Ian Lightfoot, Snow White, Tiana, Kuzco, and finally, Sheriff Woody Pride. Anna just has that personality type that makes her very shippable.

Despite Anna and Buzz Lightyear being in the Hopeful Heroism Disney Mirrorverse Event together, they see each other only as friends. Meanwhile, Woody is a rugged, heavy-hitting cowboy who secretly crushes on Anna... hard! He gets all flustered and stutters around her like he did with Bo Peep from his source world. Anna, ever the warm and welcoming soul, remains oblivious to Woody's feelings, treating him with the same kindness and camaraderie she shows every guardian. Woody's heart races every time she smiles at him, and he's constantly torn between his duty as a sheriff and his burgeoning feelings for her. He’ll throw hands at any and all Fractured to protect her and often lets Anna wear his hat, a gesture of his deep affection and trust. The two share a unique bond, sometimes even finishing each other's sandwiches~

This game has truly provided a canvas for me to think of so many imaginative scenarios and relationships. There’s a lot of fun and potential in exploring these characters’ dynamics because, since their source worlds have changed, maybe that means their romantic and platonic relationships can change too. For instance, we know that Belle and Beast end up together in their source world, but ever since two blazing stars, one light and one dark, collided, their destinies have shifted. This opens up new possibilities for who they could become and who they might connect with. So maybe Belle might find herself attracted to a big, blue, compassionate, and caring guy like Sulley. 😳👉👈

Anywhoodle, sorry for the long info dump/rambling. I genuinely loved answering this! It’s great to hear you’re diving back into it. Disney Mirrorverse has always been such a delightful and quirky game. If you ever want to chat about your favorite moments or characters, I'm all ears!

OTP Prompt: Katara gets in a heated argument with someone. She begins threatening them, so Zuko picks her up and carries/drags her out of the room before anyone gets hurt. lol

“Scarfaced freak,” the boy muttered. Zuko froze, his shoulders coming up to his ears. From the corner of his eye, he could see Sokka turn to him, wide eyed and stunned.

“What did you just call him?” Katara’s voice was low and dangerous. That snapped Zuko and Sokka out of their shock. 

“He heard me,” the boy said. He smirked at Katara. “What? Did I insult your boyfriend?" 

“For it to be an insult, your opinion would need to matter,” she snapped. “But jerks like you need to be taught some manners.” She stepped towards him, arms moving up from her sides. Zuko gasped, and grabbed them from behind. He pulled her towards him, wrapping their arms together so that Katara was essentially hugging herself. 

“You can’t do that here,” he whispered to her. “You’ll blow our cover.” Katara gritted her teeth but stopped struggling. 

“At least you know how to keep your girl under control, Scarface,” the bully laughed.  Katara strained against Zuko’s hold again. 

“I’m just going to talk to him!” she insisted. 

“I’d get out of here,” Sokka warned the boy. “He’s holding her back for your safety. He won’t be able to keep it up forever.” The guy scoffed, but turned away, laughing as he walked down the street. Zuko loosened his grip on Katara, but didn’t dare let her go just yet. 

“That guy needs to be frozen to the bottom of a lake,” she muttered.

“What a creep,” Sokka agreed. Zuko just shrugged. 

“That’s not the worst thing anyone’s ever said to me,” he told them. “We should head back. We’ve drawn too much attention.” He finally released Katara, only for her to start towards the direction of the other boy. Zuko caught her wrist and stared at her incredulously. 

“I’m not going to draw attention,” she promised. “I just have some words for him.”

“You always have words,” Sokka complained. “I know that guy aggravated your sense of righteous indignation, but Zuko’s right. We don’t need the heat. Let it go.” Katara glared down the street. She could still just make out the back of the rude boy and she wished that she could earthbend, just for a few minutes. 

“Seriously, do you want me to carry you back?” Zuko huffed. Katara turned her attention from her thoughts and raised her eyebrows at Zuko. She opened her mouth to tell him off, but paused a moment. 

“You know what?” she said. “Yeah. I want you to carry me back.” Zuko balked. 

“I was kidding!”

“Yeah well, I’m not.” Katara folded her arms and smirked at Zuko challengingly. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”

“Fun!” Zuko snorted in disbelief. 

“For me,” Katara clarified. “It’ll be fun for me.” 

“Nope.” Zuko shook his head and he and Sokka started for the path leading back to the beach house. 

“I could always go find that guy,” Katara said offhandedly. “I wouldn’t have to let him see my face when I  freeze him to the side of a building.” Zuko looked back at her, eyes narrowed. 

“You’re bluffing.” He was sure of all the members of their group, she wouldn’t do anything so rash. 

“Am I?” She met Zuko’s eyes meaningfully. Zuko groaned and looked at Sokka. He threw his hands up as if to say ‘this is your problem’. Then with a sigh, Zuko looped his arms around Katara, one behind her shoulders and one behind her knees. 

“You two are the biggest dorks, I swear.” Sokka shook his head and rolled his eyes.

Title: Running Away Together Chapter 1: Running Characters: Violet Fisher, Alphinaud Leveilleur, Jullus pyr Norbanus, Riol Forrest Rating: Mature Notes: Thanks to @elizatronicwarfare and @just-a-geeky-therapist for the beta reads! - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 -

Violet crossed her arms and pursed her lips as she considered what to do with Alphinaud and Jullus. Alphinaud wouldn't look her in the eye, jacket barely zipped back up and his exposed neck still red with signs of light bruising on his normally pale skin. Jullus too, seemed to keep his attention down at his feet, his hair mussed up and coat draped about Alphinaud's shoulders.

"I'm sorry Violet. I thought you were away on business in Tural," Alphinaud finally said, "I didn't mean to give you a shock. I was meaning to tell you that we had formed a relationship and you had said that if I ever was in need of your quarters in the Annex that I was welcome to them. I abused the privilege."

Violet turned her attention to Jullus, giving him a chance to speak to and when he didn't she leaned back in her chair and crossed her leg over her knee. Her neutral expression soon broke into amusement as she began to laugh, Alphinaud and Jullus immediately caught off guard. "I'm sorry. But you were meaning to tell me? Alphi you've got about as much subtlety as Alisaie with enough ambient aether to get off a crimson scourge. Not to mention even if I hadn't seen you two sneaking off to some barely out of sight corner each time Jullus comes for a visit or we happen to bump into one another in Tetrium, your sister has already appraised half of Eorzea about each little embarrassing failed attempt at coupling. Did you two really think you could get away with anything under Ameliance Leveilleur's roof? Silly boys."

Alphinaud groaned and buried his face in hands as Jullus sat up and cleared his throat. "So then you're not cross with us?"

"That you were trying to swive in here? I would be if it were not so hilarious. Seriously, you couldn't be bothered to expend the anima to get yourselves to the Quicksand before pawing at one another? It can't be that long since you've had a roll in the tide," Violet scoffed crossing her arms.

"I could not bare to look Momodi in the eyes. She'd know in a second," Alphinaud said through his hands. "And that is just that. We've…yet to take that step. There's no place where we could go to find peace."

Violet rolled her eyes. "I think the assumption is that you've already sailed far past that step. Though I'm sure Alisaie embellishing some stories haven't helped," she said while watching Alphinaud shrink back in his seat before continuing."Still, I get it. You want it to be safe and special while not having to think about who might interrupt or know what you're up to in the moment."

"That is the gist of it," Alphinaud sighed.

"Alright then. Go to the sanctuary then. It's private and has all the amenities you could possibly need. Jullus has been. Go take a weekend off. Hells, between trying to make your situationship work while balancing the reconstruction efforts in Garlemald and your work in Tulliyolal you both deserve some time to just be. The Maiden knows a good swive might actually finally make Alphi not so uptight all the gods damned time."

"Vi-Violet!," Alphinaud sputtered while Jullus coughed to cover his laugh.

"Anyroad. The sanctuary is yours. Jullus, do you remember the coordinates?" Violet asked.

"I do…though I'm not much of a sailor," Jullus admitted.

"I'll have Riol take you then and tell him you're there to see about having the island provide sundries for the island or whatever so you don't have to worry about him thinking you're off to bed one another," Violet mused devilishly.

"Provide for? Is the island occupied?" Alphinaud asked.

Violet shrugged. "By all of the toy's Rahn's wife finds for him. Nothing living will bother you," she dismissed with a little wave of her hand.

Jullus leaned over toward Alphinaud, taking his hand. "It's not often we get an opportunity like this. An island getaway doesn't sound so bad does it? It'd just be the two of us and we can…take our time."

"I suppose an opportunity like this does not make itself present often. Some time away does sounds nice. A real vacation where there's no ulterior motives at work…save for the…um…well, that specific one," Alphinaud said, increasingly flustered.

"Alright then, now that that's settled, kindly swive off so I can have my office in peace and purge the memory of you two necking on my desk," Violet said, pulling out a bottle of whisky and a glass from her drawer, filling the latter promptly after.

"Should you…never mind. Apologies again Violet," Alphinaud mumbled as he went for the door, Jullus following.

"Wait," Violet called out, holding up her glass, a finger off of it pointing at Jullus. "You stay a moment. We should talk. Alone."

Alphinaud opened his mouth to protest, but found himself gently ushered out by Jullus. "Go on. Go pack. I'll let you know what the plan is after I get my own things sorted," Jullus assured Alphinaud, leaning out the door to steal a kiss before ducking back inside and closing the door as Violet downed her glass.

Violet poured herself shine two fingers worth of drink as she watched Jullus sit back down. "After my mother passed, the pirate crew that cared for me scrounged up enough money to send me to the Studium where I was mentored by Louisioux, Alphinaud's grandfather. I was very alone here, but he treated me like his own and when he passed too I was very much lost. Cut to five years later and my surprise that I found myself destined to be some hero and his grandchildren sought to bring about peace to the realms just as he had," Violet said, swirling her drink before tossing it back before continuing, "And while I now know the love of many friends and my definition of family has greatly expanded, Ali and Alphi are by far the dearest people to me in the world. I am closer to them than my own flesh-and-blood sibling.

"Of the two of them Alphinaud bears the most scars. Time and again his pride has been his downfall. That confidence about him runs on being humbled by life and unwavering optimism for people to do the right thing. As we both know, the latter fails to happen all too often. All that bolstering is only as strong as those who support him and try to live up to those ideas."

"Alphinaud is a lot stronger than you give him credit for," Jullus protested only to be waved off to silence by Violet.

"I'm not saying he isn't strong. I'm saying he's got the biggest heart of anyone I know and that makes him more vulnerable to hurt than the rest of us, so don't swiven disappoint him. I've never seen him affectionate with anyone else like he is with you. You're likely his first serious relationship in any capacity. Go slow and don't hurt him…as if you do you better hope whatever I do to you ensures none of the other Scions can find you because I'm sure they'll be more creative with their anger than I."

Jullus stared quietly then stood up. "You will not have to worry about that. I…well," he started, feeling his cheeks heat up. "He is all I have. In a personal capacity. I suppose my friendship with Alisaie is equally important…but that's it. It's them, and I would not do anything to jeopardise that. I have the rebuilding of my homeland, a handful of friends, and him."

Violet looked up sadly. "I know. And that is a lot of pressure on both you and him at your age and the infancy of your relationship. To let your hopes and happiness rest all in one person is shite ton of weight. All this sneaking around trying to have a moment together to see it interrupted in one way or another, that's not coincidence. That's calculated. Alphinaud is smart, he knows how you feel and even if he thinks he wants more with you in the moment, somewhere in him is afraid of what that ultimately means."

Jullus stared at Violet a moment then looked down at his boots. "So you're scared I'm going to hurt him and that my love for him will be too much for him to handle?"

Violet shook her head. "No. I'm saying that you're in a very vulnerable part in your life and that maybe you'll find it easier to connect both emotionally and in bed if you are honest about it before you get hot and heavy."

A brief silence passed between them before Jullus rolled his shoulder and went for the door. "I'll…I'll bare that in mind," he said on his way out, "I shall have us ready to disembark in the morning. Just send a letter to tell us where to be."

With that, Jullus left Violet to return to Garlemald gather his things and get affairs settled before their trip. What had been said stuck with him. Alphinaud had become a pillar in his life without realising it. He provided warmth and family that had been lost to him. Many at home still treated him harshly, for consorting with the Eorzean Alliance and every day felt like it was an uphill battle to rebuild. Even his friends often expressed their discomfort at times.

It had been easier with Alphinaud and Alisaie there. More so when the former had accepted his feelings. He knew it was for the best that the twins returned to let Garlemald figure itself out, but the loneliness after…and chasing after Alphinaud so to assuage it, it was recoloured by Violet's warning.

Jullus could not shake the uneasy feeling, long after he reunited with Alphinaud and met with Riol to sail from Moraby Drydocks. Alphinaud didn't seem to notice off hand, much more interested in proving he could take the helm, with supervision. Riol had noticed though, and when he felt certain Alphinaud could sail them forward for a few malms he wandered to Jullus who had parked himself at the bow, watching the horizon.

"Gil for your thoughts lad?" Riol asked, resting his back against the forward pulpit to keep a watchful eye on Alphinaud.

"Huh? Oh. I'm fine," Jullus lied, looking over toward Riol from under his bangs.

Riol crossed his arms and shook his head. "That's not sound of fine. Especially not for someone off to take a roll in tide with his lover," he laughed, catching Jullus's shocked expression through the corner of his eye. "Relax. I won't ruin your fun by letting on to the "commander" there that I know. Given that he's not brooding too, I don't think you're in a fight. So what's eatin' ya?"

Jullus shifted, finding himself a bit uncomfortable being put on the spot. He deliberated a moment, uncertain what to say or if he's say anything at all. "When we set all this up, Violet gave me a lot to think about."

"Did she now? Pay her no mind. She gets her jollies from watching men embrace. I thought she might melt on the spot when my mate Baderon gave me a smooch to get a rise out of her," Riol laughed.

"Oh. Well, no. It was more ominous than all that. I think she thinks I've got too much baggage for Alphinaud to handle," Jullus lamented.

"Ah. Well, I guess she still sees Alphinaud as a kid brother that needs protecting. He's been through a lot. And imagine you have too. He's grown from a little lord playing army to a fine young man with a good sense and a noble heart. If he's chosen you, then I'd have to think you're just as much of an outstanding gent as he. Let Vi have her sisterly threats. It comes from love."

"It is from that love that I have my fears. I've put so much upon him without even realising it," Jullus sighed.

"Has he complained? What's a partner for if not helping you through your storms. Violet has her own share of troubles and I'm happy to hold her or let her vent in such a way she'd make the most hardened of pirates blush. Hells, if she'd tolerate it I'd make it official, ceremony and all, but she likes her freedom and I respect that. Respect and trust. If you've got that, then you're sailing smooth…speaking of which," Riol said before giving Jullus a pat on the back as he stood up and headed back toward the helm. "OI! Didn't I say keep us steady. Don't be getting fancy with the wheel now."

"I thought it best to steer about the waves," Alphinaud protested, backing up as Riol took control of the vessel.

"This isn't a toy boat, it's not going to move fast enough. All you're going to do is make them break higher against the hull," Riol said before grunting as a wave broke against the larboard side.

Jullus let out a yelp as he lost his footing, getting it back just in time to get a good spray of ocean about him. "Hells…," he huffed, looking down at his drenched shirt and pants.

"Oh dear. I'm sorry Jullus," Alphinaud called out.

"It's fine. I should change for the weather anyway," Jullus said in return, on his way below deck to change out of his wet clothing, finding Alphinaud following behind as he stripped down to his smalls. "I said I was okay."

"Yes, well. I wanted to come down here with you anyway," Alphinaud said, fishing in Jullus's bag to find a towel to hand to him.

"Thanks," Jullus said, wiping his face before patting down his body, finding his boyfriend's eyes upon him. He flexed instinctively as he handed back the towel, showing of his muscular form as he pulled out a shirt more befitting the isle and started to unbutton it. "I'm sorry if I've been poor company. I've had a lot on my mind."

"I thought so. Though I figured you'd tell me if it were something important," Alphinaud said, folding Jullus's towel back up to keep his hands busy, face flushed from staring at the other a bit too much. "I do admit I was worried you might be regretting this trip. Garlemald has so much that it needs done."

"I can afford to have a little time to get away every now and then," Jullus said as he pulled on some shorts. "Though I do admit I find myself leaving more often than I should. Still, I'm not a magistrate. I have no real authority."

"What? That's nonsense. Everyone there looks up to you and values your guidance. Your, eventual, willingness to open yourself up to outsiders and be brave enough to say you need help is what ultimately saved Garlemald. Even after the bonds you made with us helped cement you as the envoy between nations. You are the very face of the future of Garlemald," Alphinaud bolstered before taking the other's hand. "One day, when you find your new normal and there's a warmer welcome to outsider influence, I will be able to return and be at your side as you continue to build up your nation…when I am not being invited spectate other nations' cultural exchanges and aid in the fallout of yet another world threatening disaster."

Jullus stared at Alphinaud a moment then leaned forward, bring the other by the back of his head toward him so that he could kiss the top of his forehead. "And you do not resent me? For pulling you away from your adventure, especially to find time to-"

"Of course not. I told you I was ready," Alphinaud said, ears turning red as he stared through Jullus's chest.

"And you're not doing this because you think it will make me happy? But because you want to," Jullus asked, taking in a deep breath.

Alphinaud remained silent for a moment before looking up, swallowing hard as his face burned with embarrassment. "I am not some chaste bookworm. I have the same urges any young man our age does. This being my first time does leave me rather flustered when I think about it too much; however, it is because my mind gets carried away. And…well, I hope it will make you happy. It will make me happy."

Jullus held the back of Alphinaud's head, rubbing his fingers affectionately against it as he looked down into his eyes. "Right. It will make me happy…But Violet made me realise-"

"Oi! Get your things ready and get up here and get the tender ready to sail to shore. We'll be on your island in less than half-a-bell," Riol called down to them.

"I'll get our things settled, you go topside and help Riol. I'll finish my thought later," Jullus said, hesitating a moment before sending Alphinaud off with a firm kiss.

"R-Right then," Alphinaud said in a small voice before stumbling back to turn and head back up to the deck.

Jullus takes a hand through his hair, watching Alphinaud go before getting their things together to bring upstairs for the next leg of their journey.

hahah I do! But with a BIG asterisk. Putting it under cut for INSANE STAR FOX RAMBLINGS

* <- the big asterisk: I ship them, but like I also am okay with them not being end-game. I think their relationship could be so much bigger than that!! OK so, let me explain. When I was a kiddo I shipped them! I was a baby furry and I loooooved that there was a playable girl character in Star Fox FINALLY (though, you know that was for only a split second bhnjmk) But now, I just think the way they were both written in the games was a little boring and one-note. Also just uncomfortable at times, since her first appearance Krystal was made out to be weird kinda-fetishy, sex-appeal and not much else. I don't think that's a controversial statement though LOL Later games I don't much feel for their chemistry either, though they have cute moments here and there. The more interesting parts about them is when they're not seeing eye-to-eye and they're apart from each other, honestly. So in my drawings I was picturing something less canon and more re-imagined. Krystal is the lone survivor of her race and she's on Sauria trying to find the truth about what happened to her home planet while also aiding the local wildlife. I don't imagine the dinosaurs speaking much in my version, but Krystal is telepathic and an empath, she can read their minds well enough to talk to them and be understood. I imagine also she knows about Andross, but doesn't believe he's the reason her planet was destroyed (there's disagreements on if that is canon or not, and I think its pretty silly to blame every bad thing on the one guy.) I think it would be fun if Krystal (never being encased in a crystal because that plot was dumb) meets Fox on Sauria early on in the events of Star Fox Adventures. I mean it would have been GREAT if Krystal was his partner, instead of Tricky. Though in the drawings I included Tricky too, cuz why not? I like the dynamic of Krystal being kind towards all living creatures and Fox having to learn to keep up with that. Nature never seemed like his -thing- ya know. See I like the idea of their personalities crashing a lot at first. They are from different cultures and backgrounds, their understanding of Lylat history is different -- Fox being from Corneria means he views the war against Andross as a necessary thing, something Andross brought on himself and eventually paid for with his life, not to mention the death of his father weighs heavily on him forever. Krystal disagrees, being a firm believer that war is never the answer and the price of peace for some came at the cost of the death of others, including her own people. Like...DO YOU SEE HOW MUCH THEY WOULDN'T MIX, they are just too different and too caught up in their own life missions to really get the other's intentions. But then in spite of all that, they become friends. I think my ver. of Krystal while looking down on Fox somewhat for being a mercenary would also be intrigued by him. She would want to know how exactly this guy and his team defeated Andross, and from there know more stories about his life. Likewise, Fox being stuck on ground on Sauria with Krystal I think would open his eyes a bit more (lmao touch some grass for once) and they would at least bond with each other while also helping each other stay alive. I think they realize on their own that they each bring out good things about one another... at least at first.

In the games Krystal is pretty much assimilated into Star Fox and we don't really see how that happens or how she really feels about it. We just know she eventually breaks up with Fox and cuts ties with the rest of them, something that broke my heart when I was a kid, but I'm not super against or in disagreement with. Personally I just think her sort of beliefs and upbringing would have never lent itself well to the line of work Star Fox does, at least not so easily. It came off to me like she was a young woman caught up in a romance that felt right at first and then became bitter and unfulfilling once reality set in. And in my eyes, I think its more interesting if she becomes disillusioned with Star Fox and the Cornerian Defense Force because, put simply, Krystal isn't pro-military. And that's sad...but it's pretty raw, too. And I love my stupid children's game about furries in space being full of dark themes!! Nintendo already set the domino pieces up, I just feel like we never got to see them all come tumbling down. We were teased with possible ideas that the Cornerian army and General Pepper were morally grey and that Andross had good intentions mixed in with every totalitarian thing he did. Krystal even is the one to defend Andross in one scene in Command, which is fucking crazyyyyyyyy!!! but it doesn't GO ANYWHERE -tears hair out- But anyways, as you can see Fox X Krystal drives me insane. /pos There isn't really an ending I love or subscribe to the most from Star Fox Command. That game really just threw a lot of the fans for a loop with all the drama and "bad," not super fulfilling ends to beloved characters. Though, that being said, I lowkey like the Kursed/Krazoa arc for Krystal, I think it's like an interesting path for a character like her. Like yeah, turn this woman into a hardened butch bounty hunter!!!! why NOT!!! She'd get under his skin better than Wolf ever could!!! Plus, how often does a pairing go from friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-strangers?? Fox can't recognize the love of his life anymore because she's been fundamentally changed by the world HE introduced her to. Now they both gotta live with that with Sauria being nothing but a distant memory. It's tragic, it's messy, it can go in so many different directions and I just think these furries should yell at each other for my amusement. anyways that's all. :] i'm actually normal about them tee hee.
