Omg this is so cuteee aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh Eclipse is such a good father 😭😭
Lol i saw it coming when Eclipse mentioned his father playing with him of course he was tossed into the air XD that was so cute and funny and remembered me of this meme!
To Survive Pt. 2
Reader x Orca!Eclipse
Commission Info
I'm back with more cuteness requested by dear @crazedauthor with an orca!reader and orca!Eclipse. Now, the two of you have children, and things are so peaceful after so much grief. A little scare happens when you wake alone, but Eclipse arrives quickly to make it better. Family shenanigans occur.
Content Warnings: Mentions of death and blood, and a reader with children.
———
On a crisp, pale morning, you open your eyes to a gentle new dawn. Awareness rushes you like a tide, but it does not drown you. The memory of the night before swishes against you, as soft as sea form, and you smile in your sleepy hazy.
You went to rest upon an ice shelf, carved into the side of a great wall towering pale blue over the Arctic sea, with your mate and children. In the arms of your love and cradling your two babies, one new, one a little grown, you drift into sweet, milky dreams.
After agonies of loss and isolation, you have found your pod again.
This very home was hollowed out by Eclipse’s hands. Tirelessly, he worked when you both learned you were expecting a child. You’ve never seen him in such excitement. His eyes shone like shards of ice in sunlight and he never slowed a moment until you begged him to come hold you and sleep a while.
Your eyelids flutter, crusted with sleep. Lounging in the bliss of the quiet, you appreciate the stillness for so rarely is all so peaceful. Once the baby came, there were tiny cries little hands grasping, and tiny flukes flipping. Eclipse held the babe in his clawed hands with a tenderness that stirred you with emotions. You fed your little one and whispered promises. Your little pod is safe. Your little pod is whole.
Then the second child came, and now an eager toddler was swimming quickly away around a bend of ice only to be snatched by Eclipse and cooed at in rumbling tones. The baby stayed in your arms when Eclipse wasn’t trying to hold both. Their wriggling bodies combatted his strength and gentleness, and you would laugh.
Sighing gently, you turn over, mindful of your dorsal fin against the frozen floor.
It’s quiet… Your mind returns to bloody seas and wicked nets tossed by human hands, then silence.
Your palms slide over the emptiness beside you. Bolting upright, your tail slaps against the floor in your alarm with a cool sting. You swivel your head. The dome blue of your home holds no refractions except for the barest light off of your body alone.
Your mate. Your babies. The youngest should be in your arms, mewling for milk. The eldest should have fussed long before the sun rose over the horizon for a playmate. Somewhere between, Eclipse should have kissed your shoulder and asked a question: what fish would you like for your morning meal?
You slept too long. Exhaustion should crawl at your edges and your patience should wear thin as your babies require ever-present attention. Horror crashes upon you. Adrenaline pumps through your veins as you thrust yourself off the ice shelf and into the icy waters below. Blubber and thick skin keep you safe from shock, but your heart swings against your rib cage and pounds against your sternum. Breathlessly, you intake air. You swim under the entrance and out into the vast expanse of the ocean.
Your pod. Where is your pod?
You cry out over the waves. A rawness invades your throat as Eclipse’s and your babies’ names drag at the vulnerable softness within you. Stinging arises at the corner of your eyes. Opening your arms, you dart back and forth over the entrance to your home. Do you set out to find them quickly or do you stay home should they return by themselves?
The ringing in your ears peaks and then stops under a familiar echo of your name. Twisting in the waters, far out beyond the wall of ice, is your mate. He bobs above the surface. Brilliant red frills frame his face as his eyes land upon you. In his arms, he cradles your children.
Almost collapsing under the surface, you inhale a tight breath. You force another one through, and another, deepening each inhale and exhale until the constriction around your chest eases.
The sight of your mate and babies keeps you afloat.
Eclipse carefully swims and closes the distance between you. The moment he nears, you open your arms for the youngest one. Maffei. Your darling daughter. Her face is round and plump, and what tiny frills adorn her are deep with deep red and orange hues. Her arms are thick with fat rolls. Her tiny fists unfurl, and a squall leaves her in demand for your arms around her.
The eldest, Fornax, excitedly calls for his parent. You answer with reassurance. You are here. You gaze over your child, your lovely son, the firstborn of your pod. He pushes away from his father quickly, showing off the cool tones of his flukes and fin-tips. Eclipse told you he looks so much like, but you see his strength in Fornax’s smile, in the way he swims after a fish though he’s too slow now to catch one.
Eclipse suggested the names you so dearly treasure now. He’s imagined for many years children, and the names he had prepared are perfect for the bundles now wriggling in your arm and swimming around you like a tiny whirlpool.
Now you both have a family.
“Maffei, Fornax,” you breathe and then hold Eclipse’s gaze. “Where were you?”
“I didn’t mean to frighten you, love.” He draws himself closer, resting an arm around your waist. You shift until your back rests against his chest. The familiar weight of his chin pressing lightly into your shoulder cools the rising panic within you. “I believed you would sleep longer. Don’t be afraid.”
For several moments, you collect yourself as Eclipse gathers you in his arms. He presses a kiss to the crook of your neck. Looking down at Maffei, she fits perfectly in your arms. She babbles lightly. Little coos rising and falling in musical notes lay a gentle hand over your heart.
Fornax splashes. The cool wave of water hits you gently, causing Maffei to squirm and pout her pink lips.
“Fornax,” Eclipse says in a firm but gentle voice, “Don’t splash your sister.”
“Sorry, papa.” Your son’s tail flicks. A slight sheepishness overtakes him as he drifts up to you and looks down at his little sister in your arms. “Sorry, Maffei.”
“Good boy,” you murmur and bow to press a kiss to his forehead.
He smiles with small, nubby teeth lining his gums before darting away with another ripple. The water crashes against each other. You keep Maffei shielded this time.
Eclipse rumbles a pleased sound. Looking back down at you, he presses his cheek against your head.
“Are you alright?” he asks in a low rasp.
“Yes.” You crook your finger and softly brush Maffei’s cheek. “I am now.”
“You looked so weary,” Eclipse continues softly. The vibrations in his chest touch your spine. “Last night, you were up so late with Maffei. I meant to return before you awoke. The little ones were so eager to spend energy. It is my duty as your mate and their father to take care of you all.”
He brushes the hair from your forehead softly. You lean deeper into his touch while watching Fornax explore a side of the ice shelf, touching and digging at loose bits of the frigid wall.
“They are very rambunctious,” you tease and turn back to grin at Eclipse. “Just like you.”
He laughs, deep and hearty. Maffei gives a small cry of complaint. You can smell the faint scent of milk on her. Eclipse coos sweetly.
“Little love, don’t fuss. We’re both here. It’s alright.” Eclipse tenderly strokes Maffei’s head. Seemingly content with the attention, she leans against your chest and settles. Her tiny tail is not yet developed enough for swimming on her own. She requires constant arms to hold her above the surface as her ability to hold her breath grows stronger and stronger.
You turn slowly back to Eclipse. Your heart has grown softer and fonder of your mate since watching him as a father. He is attentive and constant in his efforts to provide for their every need.
Gently, you press a kiss to Eclipse’s mouth. His eyes, twin flames of burning yellow and red, widen before he returns the gesture with equal fervor. He pushes gently and cradles your mouth with his before releasing you.
“You are a wonderful father,” you speak softly. “You are the most loving mate. And this,” you look at your children, “feels like home.”
Eclipse’s tail flicks underneath you as his body seems to tremble with emotion before he gently presses his forehead to yours.
“How so, my love? Tell me all,” he demands in a rumble.
You take a moment and fall back to days when you were in the shelter of your mother’s arms, and your aunts would sing lullabies to your younger cousins.
“Babies were held close, and everyone offered a hand,” you recount gently the memories of your childhood, “No one went without.”
You gently tickle Maffei’s chin, and she grabs your finger with her fat little hand. She gives you a searing look. A soft laugh escapes from you. You apologize to her before she returns to settle against your bosom.
“My mother would have loved to hold our babies,” you whisper softly.
“Yes,” Eclipse rumbles low, “My mother would have been pleased to see our children, and she would approve of my mate.”
You flush softly at such a thought, then grow somber within it. Despite all the pain, you are both still here. Your family is beautiful and worth every moment of agony.
Fornax returns but stops short of splashing Maffei. He instead treads slightly to swim around Eclipse, and tug at his arm, begging for a playmate.
A wicked grin spread across Eclipse’s maw.
“My father would play with me often,” he begins, and you eye him suspiciously as he takes Fornax under the arms. “Like this.”
He lifts Fornax above the surface. His body is small and slipstream, and his tail drips heavily back to the sea as he giggles at a high-pitched sound. To your dismay, Eclipse tosses the child over the surface and back into the water with a heavy splash.
“Eclipse!” you shout, aghast.
Flicking up small waves, Eclipse darts for Fornax and scoops up your not-so-little baby, and he’s laughing. The boy demands relentlessly that Eclipse toss him once more. Thundering in joy, Eclipse obliges. Fornax sails through the air and back into the water with a furious splash.
“Eclipse,” your voice climbs shrilly. “Stop tossing my son around like a baby seal!”
“I would never allow harm to befall him,” Eclipse promises in a mischievous roll of his tongue.
“Again! Do it again, papa!” Fornax slaps the water with his hands and his tail cuts through the salty brine.
Then Maffei turns in your arms. Her little eyes fall on her brother and father playing roughly along the surface, and she chortles in a way that reminds you of Eclipse. Her tiny face ignites with delight.
Slowly, with all forces against you, you relax. Fornax beams brightly when he emerges from another tossing. Constantly, Eclipse is calculating, carefully adjusting the throwing of his son and watching him closely to ensure there is no harm done.
Perhaps he might feel your radiating judgment, for Eclipse turns back. He tucks Fornax underneath his arm and drags him back to you despite your son's protests and needing to be thrown once more over the waves.
He nears, a great grin splitting his maw. You are helpless in returning the gesture in the radiating heat of his joy. His arms surround you, and Fornax is caught in the embrace as well as Maffei.
Looking down softly over his pod, Eclipse surveys you quietly. Fornax wraps his arms around you in kind. He blows raspberries at his sister who giggles quietly. Their tiny tails squirm against your side, and you feel at peace.
“I will always protect our pod,” he declares, his eyes searing with his intent and truth.
Your heart swells in your chest. Pushing close, you kiss Eclipse sweetly, until the baby fusses and Fornax asks when he can be tossed again.
You will never lose your pod again.

“A growl as depthless as the arctic sea in Eclipse’s maw rocks your body.
“A pity,” he snarls. “A human to punish.””
I spent entirely too long on this, but I’m very happy with how it turned out (still figuring out backgrounds though). Just like y/n can’t escape Eclipse, I am unable to be free from @naffeclipse and her stories. I just love the writing and descriptions and just how touchy this man is! I would ask someone to help free me from it, but I’m having too much fun so….
Anyways enjoy Eclipse and my y/n! This is how I imagined the scene where he sees Vanessa in Chapter 6.
Flat art below the cut :)

Can you please word vomit about your god au?
Hehe >:)
Imma organize this by god so that it doesn’t confuse my brain
Sun aka Crown ☀️
The eldest sibling, God of the day and sun and all associated with it
He/Him pronouns, AroAce
Crown is full of energy and seemingly always happy though there is a side of himself that he doesn’t openly present to his followers; just like the sun his warmth is pleasant and comforting…though it can still burn
Crown is the most beloved of the gods due to his association with the sun and his gifting fire and thus light to mortals and he is also the most involved with his followers, coming down during the day to interact and celebrate with them in his mortal form
Crown’s temple of worship aka his “party palace” is set in a desert oasis and is the most pristine and elegant looking of the gods’s temples with a garden full of palm trees and succulents and other desert plants and pools of crystal blue water and walls and pillars made of sandstone and white marble
He is one of the most powerful and influential of the gods and his strength and skill with fire, being able to produce and control even the wildest and hottest of flames, is well revered amongst the other gods
He is always very warm, even in his mortal form, and the angrier or more upset he gets the hotter he runs and the brighter his eyes burn, like mini suns
All of the gods have several forms (though they can technically shapeshift into whatever they want), one of which being their “under cover” forms—usually animals—which they use to blend in with mortals without drawing attention
Crown’s “under cover” form is a sand viper an indicator of his true personality
Moon aka Tide 🌙
The second eldest, God of the night and moon and all that is associated with it
They/He pronouns, bi
Tide is calm and levelheaded, rarely anything ruffles them, and they are quiet, not talking often unless they want or need to, the polar opposite of Crown
They do not show themselves as often as Crown though on nights where the moon is full and bright without a cloud in the sky, Tide will come down and celebrate with his followers—he often will just stand and observe though it is on these nights where he can be the most talkative if he’s in the mood
Tide’s temple of worship is by the sea, built with white quartz and black marble and decorated with shells and softly glowing lights in the shape of stars and constellations and a circular ceiling with the night sky and the moon phases painted on it
Being the opposite of Crown, Tide runs cold and when he is angry he becomes frigid as if he himself is covered by a layer of frost
Tide’s “under cover” form is an orca
Eclipse aka Shroud 🌑
The “youngest” of the three, the God of energy and trickery, the in-between
He/Him pronouns (agender)
Shroud is a complex character—he’s mysterious and elusive, only making an appearance every few years during a total eclipse and even then he doesn’t stay long, just like the eclipse itself; no one really knows how he is (other than his brothers) but there are many rumors
His appearance is seen by many as a bad omen and he is said to be a harbinger of misfortune and evil though people often irrationally fear things they don’t understand and his appearance is far more intimidating than the other two which only furthers this fear
Though he is also known to be a trickster and those few who have gotten a close encounter with the god all have varying things to say of his nature, as if he’s an actor who flips characters on a dime
All of the gods radiate an aura (like Crown being hot and Tide being cold) of some kind and Shroud’s buzzes and sparks with energy, like an exposed wire full of bolts upon bolts of hidden power
Shroud’s temple of worship is set in desert of black sand (based on the black sand beach) and it stands tall and ominous over the dunes with black stone walls and floors and pillars made of black and gold marble and a long hall illuminated by candlelight leading to a tall throne with the symbol of the eclipse at the top
Shroud’s “under cover” form is a scorpion (specifically an emperor scorpion)
That’s all I have rn, sorry it took so long I got very distracted- *sweats*
I liked including the descriptions of the temples because I think it’d be boring to just say “oh yeah they have a temple yeah that’s it” lol
Also there are other gods though I’ll share stuff about em once I’ve figured more stuff out >:)
#bee talks#bee rambles#god au#dca god au#dca sun#dca moon#dca eclipse#fnaf god au#dca fnaf#dca fandom#bee’s god au#ty for giving me an excuse to infodump about this au#not tsams related

I'm not normal about this in the slightest, ahhhhh! This scene!!! The northern lights are so vibrant and beautiful above the water and yet it's so heavy and melancholic with Eclipse holding Y/N (me in this instance augh <333). His claws covering Y/N's hair and how Y/N sleeps in exhaustion upon him is just, augh, it's ripping my heart out and stomping on it, that's what it is. The thing that kills me the most is Eclipse looking up at the stars and there's the smallest swell of tears in his eyes. I can imagine how much he's already grieving losing them but he has to try to make this night count because it is his last with his birdie. The expressions here are absolutely phenomenal and the light refracting upon the characters and the water is gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing! <3
I finished Apex Polarity n have no words. I’ve never been so emotionally tormented by a story before (in the best way) Anyway, here’s Naff n her Orca boy on their last night out at sea. 10/10 story @naffeclipse
#also size difference my beloved#i also have to say that i love reading your comments along the way#it's such a journey to follow someone's thoughts as the chapters going on#anyways eats this art and goes insane#apex polarity#orca!eclipse

Hopefully this hasn’t been asked quite yet
But what if orca eclipse was more like the canon dca as in-
He was an animatronic instead of a fish man?
*rubs my filthy mitts together*
The setting becomes a Seaworld-esque theme park (not good) called Freddy Fazbear's Boundless Sea.
Y/N is still a photographer. You have been personally invited by the corporation to take stunning candid photographs of everything within the park so they may use the photos in future marketing endeavors. The pay is more than convincing. You're thrilled to get an inside peak into a notable establishment and discover what you can capture with your camera.
You're allowed almost everywhere. You get to see shows with oceanic-themed animatronics that perform stunning water tricks and can morph from their landform to their sea form in the blink of an eye—legs are replaced with fins, and vice versa. The areas have their themes from the warm and relaxed Caribbean-themed shallow pools on the east end to the excited and tidal-wave high pools on the west side to a swampy and green lily pad-dotted south.
Funny enough, you remember a small blurb on a news website about Freddy Fazbear's Boundless Sea shutting down a section of the park. No big deal. It probably just needs to be renovated, but you keep passing maps that have one certain section on the north side of the park either covered up with a big sticker, crossed out with a black marker, or outright torn off. Strange. They did say you could go almost everywhere.
You find the north section, but it's all covered up in tape and looks to have an Arctic theme. There are polar bears and narwhals painted on the icy-faux walls. The entrance is locked up tight. You keep photographing everything else, everywhere, but the north area keeps gnawing at the back of your brain. Any efforts to find out more information are met with standard explanations of the work required in the area. It is closed until further notice.
Which you sit with for a few days before you discover a back area. The excuse of needing a better angle to take pictures of the animatronics performing their great stunt show gets you through, but while wandering through a cluttered and stacked high mess of merchandise, you find a poster.
The poster features an animatronic you have never seen before. One painted in black and white, and in his seaform, he possesses a great dorsal fin and flukes on his mechanical tail. The background is frosty and pale blue.
You tuck the poster into your camera bag and go about the rest of the day. It triggers a faint memory of an old commercial from a few years back you watched about the park, where there was, indeed, an orca-themed animatronic who had his very own show. In fact, after a quick internet search, you find he was really, really popular. He had shows twice daily—even more than the main cast. He was powerful and stunning, and he would splash people in the audience. Everyone ate it up.
His name was Eclipse.
But then, a few months back, he seemingly vanished. The area was closed down. Complaints are wondering when it will open back up. No one mentions the animatronic.
You don't get it. Why shut down a money-maker like that? Something's going on. Frankly, you want pictures of such a powerful performer. Wouldn't the corporation want you to get good shots of him?
Then you find a little article. A blurb about an incident at the beloved Freddy Fazbear's Boundless Sea. The animatronic was acting strange. Onlookers repeated that there was an agitation to the show, a tension that permitted the water and air. A staff member was pulled into the pool. Immediately, guests were ushered out while help swarmed the water. Then, the entire park was shut down for the day.
What happened?
You try to find more. Yielding nothing, you return to work tomorrow with a plan. You've been studying the layout, mostly to find better vantage points to snap a shot, but now, you realize there are maintenance tunnels below the entire park. You slip into one while a show is happening, keeping most staff members above ground. You wander for a bit before you find a marker pointing to "Eclipse's Arctic Sea."
A door finally opens into the closed section of the park. Most of it is sheltered under a pale, gray colored roof painted to appear like an Arctic sky. The dimness leads you towards an open section. A few aquariums are dimly lit but empty. The walls are painted with facts about polar bears and seals.
Strangely, you hear a faint scrapping. It pricks your ears as you follow the noise. Through a hallway that opens into a view alongside a great tank of water with the surrounding walls plastered with Eclipse's face all over them, you find another maintenance door and slip inside. The scrapping becomes a sawing, loud and sharp, through the metallic hallway, accompanied by violent splashes of water. The shrill noise becomes almost unbearable. Then you step into a narrow room filled with a single, shallow pool no longer than 10 feet.
The sawing ceases as something darts below the surface. The water sloshes until it calms into a deathly silence.
You ask softly who's there. You grip your camera tighter. Is the flash on? You can't remember. You step forward once, then twice. The opposite end of the pool bears great rakes through the flooring like claws dragging repeatedly over and over, shredding it into pieces. The edge glistens wetly by the toes of your shoes. The blue water looks empty until you peer directly over the ledge—
A sharp tooth smile greets you below the wavering surface before a hand flies out and snatches your ankle. The force of the grip rips you to the wet floor, knocking your head. Your vision swims. All senses within you only think to clutch your camera protectively as something rises from the pool. Dripping wet, the animatronic—one eye red, one yellow—grins down at you with utter detest.
"Hello, bird-eye. Come to get a look at the great killer whale?"
#black fish au#not sure what to tag this because it's not exactly orca eclipse but he is but he's not ahhhhhhh#naff writing

Orcas Island: Pt. 1
Beca
The worst part of her job was probably the smell. She could deal with the finicky steering of her least favorite boat (Big Baboo), or the constant whirring of the motors, but it was the smells that really got her. Or more specifically, the smell of someone throwing up. You’d think after the 3 long, antagonizing years of smelling of fish guts and gasoline that Beca would be used the less potent smells of her passengers’ upchuck, but she was about ready to take up the same position if she didn’t look away soon.
She did just that, already feeling her stomach churning.
She took the wheel and steered expertly into the dock, watching as the other half of the young couple went to soothe the other; patting her on the back until she was done.
If that’s what love is, Beca thought, then I don’t want any part of it. She screwed up her face, still managing to not slam any part of the decently sized motorboat into the dock. A wave of pleasure washed through her as it had the first time she’d done it a few weeks ago. And this time, she didn’t have proper vision!
She took threw the rope onto the dock, quickly following it by doing a one handed maneuver over the side of the boat and landing expertly on the worn wood, both feet planted firmly as if she was on solid land. Which of course, she was not.
She held out the hand that didn’t have the rope in it to the woman ready to get off, still looking pale and as sickly as she did before she got her lunch all over the side of Beca’s boat. Even so, she took a tentative step onto the moving dock, and her male counterpart quickly followed.
“Sorry about that,” Beca said in her most ‘customer friendly’ voice. She looked out at the water, that was almost as smooth as glass, save for a few ripples of sea kelp that dwelled around the marina.
“The swells were big today,” she said as earnestly as possible as she offered the young woman a smile, as if that would console her. The woman nodded weakly. “Enjoy a juice, on us,” she said, a little brighter, handing the man a coupon card as a pathetic apology and gesturing to the little marina shop just up the beach. The dock creaked at the footsteps as they made their way towards dry land.
“Thanks,” he said dryly.
“No fucking problem,” Beca said under her breath, turning around and assessing the situation that they’d left behind. At least the woman had had the good sense to throw up in the water, and not in the boat.
“What was that?” She heard a slam and would have jumped if she hadn’t seen a pair of green and blue swim trunks land hard onto the deck from the neighboring boat.
“Nothing,” she said in a sing song voice, not even bothering to hide her rolling eyes.
“Where is that damn hose?” she muttered, looking up at the boy and his shaggy brown hair. Luke barely deserved to be called the manager of “Eclipse”; the only thing he did around here was give Beca a hard time and give his beloved sailboat a good wash at least once daily. Twice, if the rain came in and messed up his job. She strode over to where it stayed docked easily finding the green of the hose against the bright (obnoxiously) red paint job that Luke had insisted she help with the second day she was here.
It was back then, in her bathing suit and covered in red paint, that’d she’d noticed little dribbles of paint that took her back to the walls of her apartment in New York. She’d quickly painted over them, only leaving the faint outline left behind.
That’s what she was hoping to do here. She wanted to paint over Barden and The Bellas and most importantly a very particular redhead and just start over. Unfortunately, she too still had the outline of those girls imprinted on her but she passed the boat and it’s drips this time without having to suppress a single thought, so that was progress. Kinda.
“Please, for the love of god, let me take Rosa out this time,” Beca said in the direction of her barely there boss, looking longingly at the boat that was parked in front of hers, and then back at the whiteboard that was parked in the
The boat was practically a yacht in comparison to Big Baboo; she’d heard that her steering was impeccable and unbelievably easy, that she could go up nachts in a matter of seconds, and it had this great visor that both protected the driver from the sun and the sea spray. Big Baboo had neither of these luxuries, and it was because of him that she had now sported a thin permanent layer of salt water coating her eyeballs.
“Nope,” he said, popping the ‘P’. “You need practice first.”
That was exactly the thing he’d said to her when she’d asked the last five times. She thought about telling him just that, but his smirk said he was quite aware of that fact.
“Then let’s go ‘practice’,” she said, adjusting the flow of the water from the pump on the dock and climbing aboard the boat to get a better angle of the half dried puke.
“No can do, shortstack.” She stiffened at the name. Why did couldn’t her nickname just respect the country’s borders? And stay in the country where it belonged? Or, even better, go back to the country of origin for the blonde australian who’d originally said it? Nevertheless, she looked up at him with a death glare.
“Your next trip is just coming down the dock,” he said in response. As soon as he pointed it out she heard them: the unmistakable creak of the dock as it swayed under the sound of footsteps and excitedly chattering voices of her next passenger’s, surely. She heard them stop by the side of her boat and Luke’s voice as he went over their travel plans for today and swiped their card. She felt the rocking of the boat with the weight of her first passenger, prompting her to franticly wipe the remaining mess into the water.
“Hi, uh folks. I’ll be your guide today. Excuse me while I take care of a few, last minute details before we get going on the water.” Satisfied with her cleaning job, she went and checked all of Big Baboo’s motors, the main and the back up. And because it was just Beca’s day today, there was kelp tangled in the main motor. Not having any success with yanking at the thing, she stole a glance at Luke.
“Really?” she grumbled. He gave her a smug nod. She pulled off her t shirt and shorts to reveal the second half of her uniform, a bright blue one piece with the white letters of “Eclipse” in long loopy writing before she dug into the water.
The cold hit her hard, as it always did. It was something that she’d never get used to: the icy ocean water that came with Orcas Island; there was a reason why they were a marina and not a swimming beach. She shuddered, body shaking as she used her fingers to pull at the sea plant, finally yanking on it hard enough that it snapped and she was able to toss the separate pieces into the water and away from the rudder. She then used the ladder to climb back on, knowing that asking for help from Luke was a lost cause.
Last time, she’d ended up falling back into the water more times then she’d ever set foot in it. (Luckily, with the normal temperatures, that wasn’t very often.) To her surprise though, her threw her a towel after launching Big Baboo off the dock, the corner just barely touching the water as it landed. She grabbed at it as she began her customary speech.
“Hi so, sorry about that, Big Baboo here–” she patted the steering wheel of the boat– “got a little preoccupied by his first love: sea kelp. But don’t mind him, he’s just a little salty,” she paused, hoping that at least one of these passengers was somewhat close to being a millennial, “that someone just got sick on him. No worries, though. It looks like smooth sailing from here on out.”
She took a look at the waters ahead of her, steering with one hand past Picnic Island and toward the opening in the bay.
“So, my name’s Beca,” –she checked the fuel gage, the depth monitor, and the wind speed– “and I’ll be your guide today. A little bit about myself: I don’t often do that,” she said, smiling and squeezing her hair to get all of the excess water out. She paused again to look down at the receipt she’d taken from Luke absentmindedly.
“Looks like we’re going to do some whale watching today, eh?” Though she didn’t technically live in Canada, she figured that crossing the waters into its territory every day at least earned her the right to steal a little bit of slang from the country. Well, maybe not. But she kinda liked to stray from the script, occasionally.
“Alright, so. Before I take you out into open waters, it would be a bit easier if I knew a little bit about you all. So can I have your guys’ names?”
“Well, I’m Suzy. And this here is Jeff. And our daughter...” the woman’s voice trailed off, obviously wanting her daughter to fill in her own name. Beca, head still bent and reading the parameters Luke gave her, even in the beat that it took for the girl to admit her name “Chloe,” came the soft voice of a redhead. Her head snapped up after a little bit more of reading. Beale.
* * * *
Shit. Shit. Shit. How did Chloe even know? It had been years since they’d last seen each other, a little more than 3, perhaps. It seemed like after the USO tour they’d go back to the states and live their perfect lives. But that wasn’t exactly the case.
For one, Chloe never went back with them; she stayed with Chicago, much to Beca’s distaste. He was her least favorite subject, and all Chloe seemed to talk about. It wasn’t in that Beca had been in love with Chloe, exactly, but after living together for so long there definitely was something missing. She was missing when Beca had moved to LA; when she played her first live show without the Bellas in the crowd. And yeah, those things hurt.
But it was mostly in the little things: not having someone to come home to at the end of the day, not having anyone to spend weekends with, and not having anyone, for a first time in a long time, inspire her songs. Sure, there were occasional hookups and people that came over after album release parties but there was no one that Beca would stay up just listening to them talk at 2 am, anymore... and all at once it just seemed like: what was the point?
She wasn’t having fun. Her career seemed to be at the height of what it could be with the little effort that she was so commonly putting in, and things just didn’t seem to be going in her favor. She was frustrated with her work. And with herself. And she was beginning to see in her absence, that Beca had grown fond of the redhead that so often brightened up her days and her thoughts. So it seemed like a good change of scenery, moving up here.
To be honest, she’d been initially been thinking about whales. Which brought her to google and a map of the country that shared the same name as her favorite animal. But to be honest, she wasn’t exactly fond of moving to the UK or trying to learn Welsh. She needed to go somewhere that had no resemblance to the life she was currently living.
She’d googled as much and found this little place: where it was warm, but not too hot. A place that met the ocean, but it was nearly impossible to swim in it’s frigid waters. So of course, this city girl/ LA DJ thought this was the perfect solution. Especially seeing as it had absolutely no connection to the outside world, save for the ferry that came once a week with a new round of people ready to explore. Hell, the wifi was only available in one shop in town. This place had an off season as well, and even in it’s height of popularity the people that inhabited it wasn’t overwhelming. So she went to Orcas, a type of whale, and now an island. Because it was all kind of fitting.
...but she didn’t exactly let anyone know. She struggled with that for about a week: what if someone died? Or urgently needed her in some crazy kidnapping scenario (@amy)? But eventually, it just became part of her island life. She stopped worrying about what everyone else was doing because surely, when she was ready, she could just catch up.
Not that the girl in front of her would see it that way.
To be honest, she was kind of afraid of the wrath of Chloe. Like everyone else, she’d cut her off in the move. They hadn’t even spoken much before hand, except Chloe telling her that yes, it was looking very real and possible that Chloe was going to move to Europe, for a good while, at least.
But unlike everyone else, Beca actually cared about Chloe’s reaction.
That didn’t mean that Beca let it show, however.
“Hi, Chloe,” she said as casually as she could muster. She was really good at hiding stuff. Or she once was. She supposed now she was a little out of practice.
Still, the redhead’s jaw dropped.

Women’s Soccer Leagues
Posted on January 28, 2017 by womensathletics
https://womensathletics.wordpress.com/2017/01/28/womens-soccer-leagues/
I woke up this morning whining over the fact that the NWSL season was soooooo far away, and how terrible it was that my beloved Portland Thorns lost to…let me cool down for a second…The Western NY Flash. While I continued my internal rant on how Portland should have beat the Flash, and crunched on my avocado toast, it suddenly hit me.
I first realized that in order to have good avocado toast, my piece of bread required further toasting to give it the perfect crunchiness to softness ratio that my breakfast was clearly lacking at the moment. Additionally, it occurred to me that footy fans all over the world don’t spend precious Sunday morning grumbling about their least favorite NWSL team (by the way the Western NY Flash ceases to exist anymore, it was relocated to North Carolina to form the NC Courage). Instead, these fans have their own leagues (pro or semi-pro) and favorite players to discuss.
As a blog that promotes discussion of all aspects of women’s sports, it only makes sense to introduce the several different leagues of soccer across the world.
“FOOTBALL IS A UNIVERSAL SPORT, A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE”
Each league has their own distinct styles of play and level of global recognition. All of them help their respective athletes bring their skills to the next level and entrance football fans all over the globe. Check them out!

APEX POLARITY SPOILERS
Idr if u made a tag so. Jus in case for ppl who may see this ask
Does the latest chapter of Apex Polarity mean that photographer y/n gets to join Vampire y/n and Convict y/n in the "Human to Not-Human club"?
Not the "we both drank/drink blood and have angsty stories but on the bright side we have our beloved sun/moon/eclipse" club
no more like
y'know like a I'm sure a venn diagran thingie would explain
Somethin like that
Unrelated, vampire au world eclipse drowning Orcaclipse for making his y/n transform since eclipse know that kind of transformation isn't. Ideal. For humans.
Human to Not-Human Club!!! Oh yeah, Y/N is officially in!
Oh my gosh, I love the Venn diagram! I never thought about Vampire Y/N relating to Convinct Y/N or Convinct Y/N having the experience of a kiss changing them. But they sure do all have feelings about it!
Cryptid Eclipse would throw hands with Orca Eclipse for mistreating his Y/N. It's clear not only from the pounding heartbeat but the fear on their face that Y/N doesn't want this, and Orca Eclipse should have recognized that before pulling them into the icy water.
