this was not a normal request, not for them at least. dennis and jin didn't have a typical relationship, it was more of an explosive dynamic. both at each others throats but refusing to let go. "and you decided to come to me for this ??" dennis asks, raising a brow. he sounds confused, and that's because he is. he's shocked, really, that the other would willingly want to spend time with him after everything.
dennis could use this to move on to the next step of his carefully curated system, use it to inspire hope ... but he doesn't think of that right now. if anything, he's worried for jin. he can recognize that, he just doesn't know why ( maybe he was more than just another conquest, maybe dennis really did like him ).
"fine, yes. you can stay with me tonight." he finally ends up saying, giving a small nod of his head. emotions, conversations like this, were not something that dennis did well. but he decides to try, something he will most likely kick himself for later. "is ... is everything okay ?? are you okay ??"

Olive makes me soooo fucking sad. Imagine being groomed from birth to be a fallen angel's wife, having a kid at 19, realize the same thing is happening to your newly born son as what happened to you and it makes you uncomfortable and then at 24 you decide that the best course of action is to abandon him even though it breaks your heart and you miss him every day.
And then none of that MATTERS bc 20 years later he falls right back into the man you were trying to protect him from's hands. Oooooooooogh SHE MAKES ME SO SAD
